I love it!
Yo well done!! I love the leaderboard feature, because I like spending a lot of time trying to get to the top. This game is also very replayable so it was fun trying to get the highest score! (I had to be Sorbet :p) Screenshot 2022-10-04 155024.png
I also love the way bonus points works. It challenges me to find the best way to deliver my ice cream. It also helped me discover new ways to drive. I had a very long streak of clean deliveries \( ̄︶ ̄*\) It was great seeing that multiplier go up and getting rewarded for not bumping into the walls.
Can't forget the jingle, the fact that it sped up every time you leveled up was great! It's also going to be looping in my head the entire day, which is a good thing ᓚᘏᗢ
I can totally see myself playing this to kill some time (and I totally will keep playing to beat that #1 highscore!) It's super polished and it seems like you guys put a lot of thought into the design. Good job to the both of you! I love it! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
@clonze Hi! The game's artist here - Thanks for the advice. I assume 'mixels' refers to the pixels not being consistent in size with the others? Let me know if that's correct. In any case, I appreciate the advice, so thank you so much!
@poboy Haha, thank you so much but don't hurt yourself! I actually love that you showed us games that reminded you of ours! It's so fun to see!
Ralf recommended Bosca Ceoil to me. Even though it was my first time using the software, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the options. Sure, there's a lot of instruments they give you to work with, but I just took my time with it. It was a treat being able to experiment with it all! (For reference, I made the "Game Over" track and Ralf made the "Main Theme"). I recommend it, especially for making simple game soundtracks!
@tao-yuanyue Thank you! I agree. I'm so grateful for all the comments we've received on the subject, giving us plenty of ideas on how to improve the interaction design and feedback in our game. I value all of the constructive criticism we've received and I will definitely take this advice with me to implement it in my next game! 🌸
@melbadream Thank you for your feedback and the bug report! We had another problem with the cursor when uploading it to itch.io; it suddenly increased in size by __a lot__! I have no clue why the cursor does that >︿< It might just have a mind of its own...
The music at the start already put me into the right mood! Sadly I could not use my drawing tablet to paint. But besides that, it's short and sweet. The instructions are clear and I enjoyed playing your game. (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)!
THE CAT NOISES ARE SO GOOD! ☆⌒(*^-^)v The art is so pleasing! Oh my gosh, it's so smooth. The music is very relaxing. Also the situations are so relatable, I adore this game. I wish I could two things at once though! I can't pet the cat and pretend to be paying attention or texting someone. I'm not sure if that was intended or not. Either way, that's just a nitpick. I love this game, I love the cat. Well done! It was a very enjoyable experience for me ᓚᘏᗢ
I do recommend leaving your itch.io link, because Ludum Dare cropping cuts off a part of the game (;´д`)ゞ
@deprecat Your cats are great voice actors!! I'm a big fan, I love their work.
I just tried that! I had to laugh because it looks so silly. I really like it :]
This was a bunch of fun! The messages also had a great sense of humor. It was a very enjoyable short experience. Simple yet so efficient. I think this concept is unique and you executed it well. So good job! o(≧∀≦)o
You checkmated my expectations! I was expecting a calm chess game, but here I am destroying the chess pieces!! (˃̶ᗜ˂̶) That was a great first impression for me. The pixel-art is so clean, everything blends in together VERY nicely! The colors, the style, the atmosphere... I could make my entire comment full of compliments for the visuals, it's just so pretty. Besides that the gameplay is also smoothly done, everything works and it is nicely polished. Let me get on the topic of game design - I like the variety of weapon choices you give to the player as well. I was real enthusiastic about seeing a new type of weapon when I kept playing more and more rounds. I clearly enjoyed your game, well done to the entire team!(^-^)
Okay, I love this puzzle game! The concept is unique, I haven't seen something like this before. And it works well! The graphics are simple but everything does fit together, very clean. The visuals are also helpful for a player. It's a nice touch to make the colors fade into a darker color when you can not walk on them. Also the arrow that tells the player why they can't continue is very user friendly! Thank you for adding an undo button as well (╯▽╰ ) It has saved me from a lot of mistakes. Maybe the next step could be to add a 'reset' button, to undo every move that has been made? Overall it's a fun little puzzle game that easy to understand thanks to the clear instructions. Nice job!
Wowowow, Angus rocks! Very creative approach to this theme and amazing execution! Everything is real nice, I'm glad this rythm game is forgiving with the timing and still within reason. It feels natural! Graphics, visual feedback, music, SFX... it's all well done! I spesfically love the fact that he already headbangs when you hover over the 'Play' button, it gets me ready to rock. I had a good time filling in my '_' notes with the left arrow key to make Angus slowly leave my screen haha
I actually didn't even notice that there were things happening on the top part of my screen, until I saw a comment about it. It was a mix of me having to concentrate on the lower part of the screen and the unfortunate LD embed cropping, which almost completely cuts it off. Also sometimes I'd get these notes at the exact same time with the scripted notes, that means I'd have to play two different keys at the exact same time.
But besides that, I'm a big fan of Angus and I'd like to come to his next show so I can get his autograph ( ̄▽ ̄*)b
What an interesting take on the theme! The witch girl caught my interest, I'm not gonna lie. She's so adorable! All the graphics look wonderful together. This artstyle totally fits the theme you're going for as well. I felt like a witch myself, brewing potions in my little lab. The drawing that was made in the credits scene is sweet. What a nice touch to add the creators in a witchy outfit to fit your game, so cute!
I love the game's mechanic. It's not just dragging items, but I also have to adjust the existing items by crushing them! And also that there are tiers of the different potions. I like that I have a variety of choices that I can make when brewing. These features really adds to the gameplay. I wish there was a tutorial level because I didn't get it straight away, on my second try I got the hang of it though \( ̄︶ ̄*)
I could see myself spending a lot of time playing this game, it was a real treat! Good job to everyone in the team, you all worked very hard and it shows! (★‿★)
I like the theme! I especially like the character I get to play as, very cute. The art style is unique and eye catching. Nicely done. Although at first it was a little difficult for me to understand what I had to destroy, it took me a few tries to understand that the walking red plants are my enemies. It was hard to see because they blended in with the environment. But I do like the chaos and it's satisfying to take care of the weeds in this explosive manner. Well done you guys! (o゜▽゜)o☆
Oh my gosh, this gave me chills. It was so ominous and mysterious, you completely pulled me in with this! The voice coming from the speaker was really freaky, I felt like I was being watched the entire time. I was so ready for a jumpscare at any second. On a brighter note, I did feel very proud of myself after I completed a puzzle. I'm so glad my progress was saved in the book, I appreciate that feature. This way I don't have to resolve all the puzzles again. Thanks for adding that! I must agree with the other comments that this was not the ending I was expecting haha, but it was cool nonetheless (╹ڡ╹ )
I must say I recommend downloading it, it'll run way smoother without any lag. It's the best way to experience it in it's full glory. You three did very well, good job! ♪(^∇^*)
I like the dialogue at the start. The SFX you added when they talk is also nice! The artstyle is reasonably consistent, it's charming in its own way. Although I wish I could download this game, because the Web Host Itch does not give me consistent FPS. Whenever I would run I would see a little capsule shape in my view, which I assume is the player? The low FPS made it hard to play past the introduction cutscene. So I can not provide a full review of your game (;′⌒`)
I like how the theme has been implemented in here. Such a cool concept you guys got! The visuals are stunning, the mixture of 2D and 3D works really well. I like the melee and ranged attack mechanic, it makes a lot of sense and feels natural when playing. There was a pretty big team working on this game and it looks amazing! Well done to all of you! (❁´◡`❁)
I love the direction you went with for the art! It's consistent and it works surprisingly well! The game design is also really fun. I can't forget to mention how smooth the transitions between the menu's are, it's great! I only wish I could play the game with WASD instead, but that's just a nitpick. I really like your game ヾ( ̄▽ ̄)
I'm playing a game designed after a pc desktop on my pc with a desktop, woah! What a cool game you guys made! I like the retro style that's presented! Very cool, nicely done. One spesfic feature I especially like is that I can drag the icons to different places, just like a real desktop computer. This small features make it feel all the more real. Good job to everyone who worked on it!! ✪ ω ✪
What a fun concept! This artstyle is really cool! I love the mix between the 3D world and the cart that seems 2D. It reminds me of retro games. Interesting! I like the SFX and the powerups, although usually I'm too busy racing to get to use them haha. Well done! (‾◡◝)
Wow, what an amazing job! When I went into it, I was amazed by visuals. The graphics are very well put together and the music really adds to the atmosphere. I love how everything looks together. It's so mysterious, yet intriguing. What a cool approach to the theme! I love this concept. I especially appreciate all the checkpoints in the game. I'm so glad I don't have to redo puzzles I've already solved, it's great. It's a feature I wish all modern games would have. I enjoyed your game a lot!! All of you worked very hard on this and it's definitely noticable. So good job, well done to each of you!
I was just wondering if it was humanly possible to reach a time before ten seconds for each level, and then I saw the description. Wow! These were my times (to be fair I only tried to speedrun the first one haha):BUN.png I love BUN! I love this simple 3D style and dash jumping is sooo satisfying! The game's level design slowly increased in its difficulty which was nice. Also the fact that I can go back and replay the older levels to gain enough crystals for the final level was cool! I could implement my newly gained knowledge about BUN into these levels and it worked great. I had a bunch of fun, great job! (´▽`ʃ♡ƪ)
I also like that the NPC around level 4(?) gave me a hint on what to do by saying something like "I fell trying to dash before jumping!" rather than breaking the 4th wall and telling me straight-up. These kinds of things make a game immersive and makes a player feel smart when they've figured it out!
I really like the atmosphere you set with the art style! The SFX really compliment what you're going for. Super nice!
Playing this game made me real thristy haha! And also gave me so much more respect for barista workers. I was already stressed getting my orders right in-game, I can't imagine how stressful it must be for them...
I love the graphics here, the barista looks real adorable. Everything has such a pretty palette. I like that there are a lot of options for the drinks! The controls took a little bit of getting used to, but it worked out for me in the end. My favorite was probably steaming the milk, I think that this little detail adds to the gameplay experience. I can't forget to mention the grumble mumbling sounds when my customer's are angry, it was real funny hearing that. Along with just the way they talk, it's hilarious to me!
The three of you did great, congratulations on such a cool submission. Well done! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Interesting approach! I like the concept. But sometimes I do get a little confused, perhaps it is too poetic for me to understand. Either way I like the idea, good job! ヾ(•ω•`)o
What a cute game! But it's so sad to see my player character get run over by a train (┬┬﹏┬┬) It's simple, short and sweet. The artwork is charming! I like that you added a little reward at each station and that I can see when the next train will be.
The SFX are very nice! The ticking noise in the background is a nice touch to make me feel like I need to answer fast! Although it was a bit difficult for me on my first playthrough, my score was something like 18% (>人<;)But besides that, I like the idea and your game is short and sweet. Well done for a game made in such a short amount of time! ♪(´▽`)
Nicely done! I have to admit I was confused on what "Game Rule Title" and "Game Rule Description" meant at first, because I kept dying before it could change. But I got the hang of it soon afterwards! I loved that the music got more intense when I survived another wave. I like the game, well done o(*°▽°*)o
Oh nooo, poor little cats! I almost feel bad for them but they've been voiced so hilariously haha, I absolutely love it! (besides the cat abuse (;´д`)ゞ) I also like the background music. A silly game, it's funny! Good job. ᓚᘏᗢ
Awww I love Jade! What a sweet character. I like that you made a VR title! I also enjoy this artstyle together in VR. it's feels very comfy, good job!
Yoooo that's so cool! Id love to take a peak :3 Ty!
You had me at "Cat"!! I just had to come by and I must say I adore your slimey feline friend ᓚᘏᗢ The graphics are simple and consistent, I love the animation and particles effects you added! The music only compliments this and really sets the mood for the overal vibe you're going for!
The last level was real a real treat. The music was amazingly done (good job LightningSplash!) I liked that the walls changed their color to white for this room as well. It indicated to me that it was going to be different. Unfortunately the boss really values their personal space and gobbles me up if I get within 5 ft. within it, which had lead to most of my deaths being by not moving at the very start of the boss run (;´д`)ゞ
When I am running away from the boss the game starts to feel kind of like a side-scroller. In this type of level I'll usually be running and only really stopping to grab a collectable. But there's this one box near the end that forces the player to get out of their flow of going fast (see image). Screenshot 2022-10-03 113259.png I had to make an effort to stop here each time and then instantly speed away from the enemy. There are other ways to add difficulty to a level without forcing the player to get out of their flow.
But for a game made in under 48 hours, it's well done! So good job, I look forward to seeing more of your work. ♪(´▽`)
