Love the game. Seems like it would have been great if you had some more time to fill out the options for how to make coffee. Humor is great as well.

Great game! We have a very similar game I'd love for you to try it. I really liked your pixel art and the story matched the music very well and really brought it all together. It got very hectic very quickly but I guess thats the point. Don't you love it when someone orders a medium cup, espresso shot, chocolate syrup, steamed milk, hazelnut syrup, caramel syrup, vanilla syrup Espresso.......
Nice game. It was very enjoyable. The menus worked nicely and it got chaotic pretty quickly. 10 seconds am I right? The art was really good and the color scheme used really set the mood. I'm a horrible barista apparently.
Very nice mood ! The coffee shop is relax
God damn that's hard. Enjoyable art and very cute sound design!
I only wish that the learning curve was not so steep. It's quite a jump from 2 ingredients (cup, coffee) to ... I don't even know.
This game is so lovely, I love the graphics and the audio. I wish I would own such a cute cafe irl. It was a little confusing that I had to take their order when it's already displayed on screen. I wish the work area (where the barista is moving around) would take up a bigger portion of the screen. Well executed game, I'll keep playing until I can retire happily c:
charming but difficult. clever how you crammed all the thing into the space.
@brandsma Thanks for the feedback, I agree that it needs some more tutorial. We ran into some issues with crunch and couldn't even manage an instructions screen
@jag I try to play everyone who comment's games anyway, but I took a sneak peek at yours and omg it looks cute! It's going right to the top of my list!
@stalemeat The developer high score isn't great, so I'd wager we're both horrible baristas  Thanks for playing!
@mrbamboo Thank you, and thanks for playing!
@t90 The learning curve is designed so the training wheels come off at high speed lol. The system behind generating the customer orders is not very advanced. We manually softball a few simple orders and then all bets are off. I'd love to have a more gradual learning curve but I'm afraid there just wasn't time to fine-tune it. Anyhow, thanks for playing, I really appreciate your feedback
@okshirl Thanks for your feedback! Your comment really made me think about how the UI could be cleaned up - it really dominates the screen to the detriment of the look of the game. Thanks for playing!
@rowen After they got rid of the other baristas, corporate started looking for ways to minimize the kitchen footprint. Thanks for playing!
nice game (love the pixelart look) but difficult at the beginning! :) at first, i was wandering around, thinking the mouse-control is broken because every button was unclickable. until i noticed that i have to start with the "take order" button :D
Nice little game, trying to find the correct places for stuff to add to the cup was chaotically fun resulting in some unhappy guests but they just kept coming man. Great implementation of the theme and the pixel art was really nice. Good job!
Thanks everyone for playing our game on the first day!
@yoko-san It seems like a few people have had that issue with taking orders. We definitely should have thought more about that, them's the breaks. Thanks for playing!
@bredera Chaos is exactly what we were going for, so I'm glad we hit the mark. Thanks for playing!
I came here because of your comment on my game and you're right, we basically had the same idea. You pulled it off really well, this game is pretty challenging and I like the art style you went with.
@cheeks Thanks for playing! I liked your game too
Playing this game made me real thristy haha! And also gave me so much more respect for barista workers. I was already stressed getting my orders right in-game, I can't imagine how stressful it must be for them...
I love the graphics here, the barista looks real adorable. Everything has such a pretty palette. I like that there are a lot of options for the drinks! The controls took a little bit of getting used to, but it worked out for me in the end. My favorite was probably steaming the milk, I think that this little detail adds to the gameplay experience. I can't forget to mention the grumble mumbling sounds when my customer's are angry, it was real funny hearing that. Along with just the way they talk, it's hilarious to me!
The three of you did great, congratulations on such a cool submission. Well done! ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Whooo, this is so much fun.Thank you!.
@zubi Oh my gosh, thank you for such detailed feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed our game, thanks for playing!
@eugenik You are most welcome, thanks for playing!
It was fun churning out orders once I got the hang of where things were! Really nice pixel art too, though I sometimes found myself staring at the buttons instead of taking in the artwork (having the buttons be pop-up icons at each station would have been neat!).
Very addictive! the difficulty curve hits just right Would be more intuitive to see the orders after you've taken the order. Was a little confused at first why I couldn't start making their orders right away
@nataku92 It's funny you mention not being able to view the art, because my all-time favourite cooking game (Cook, Serve, Delicious) suffers from this same thing. The game gets too intense to appreciate it, and that game has some of the best looking food in a cooking game. Moving the buttons to the player's location I think would help mitigate that for sure, and it'd clean up the UI a heck of a lot. Thanks for playing!
@braiizen Thanks for your feedback! A few people have noted the same issue with taking the orders being confusing. We definitely need to consider how to improve that. Thanks for playing!
I leave 76c richer.
How could we have forgotten to put chocolate syrup in our game!
@chybby My high score is only 80c, so I'd say you're a contender! Thanks for playing!
thanks for bringing this game by stream!
here's my high score so far :) fourcents.png
almost enough to buy a coffee in california :sunglasses: :sob:
Felt like a starbucks barista in rush hour. 10/10 stresslevel  It's a realy fun game. Nice music and sounds. Graphics are great.
@rahtainka Thank you so much for playing our game! I'm glad we captured that rush hour feeling
fourcents.png Congrats finishing the project! Really like the background music. Unfortunately i couldnt make coffee for life : p
@sparklingsushi I would say you *can* make coffee because you had at least 13 there  Thanks for playing!
Very fun! I was a little confused that I had to take an order before I could make it even though the orders were already displayed on the screen. Maybe you could show only the current order and have some sort of indicator next to it showing how many orders are waiting to be taken? Or you could take multiple orders at once and make several coffees in a row. The art and music make a nice atmosphere.
It seems I should not switch jobs, yet. Unable to get over 70 cents... Loved the style of the bar. The mood was stressful. :)
This was great!! Really liked the pixel art and the color palette in this!! Also loved the sound design -it was perfect -really like that it was timed with the sound of the cup filling up all the way. Background music was great too! Really fun and liked the humor in the writing too! Awesome work on this!! :D
We got a customer, who wants all in one, that was a little bit stressful :) Maybe you can add a small reward for extra customers?.. Nice job!
Cute game! The combination of chill beats, cute pixel art, relaxing sound effects and the pressure of delivering orders on time is an enjoyable experience. Great job!
That was great! I made my entry using the same idea, so it was nice to see how you handled it differently (>:D)! I loved the way the game presented itself with the graphics and audio, and I think you got the foundation of the game laid down strong too; The stress of the line built up smoothly over time with the 10 second intervals, and it caused me to improve faster and faster! I wish I could've seen a lives system or a countdown timer, but I'm not sure I would've paid much attention to it even if there was one (XD)!
Really solid submission, I loved playing through it!
Thanks everyone for playing so far!
@shimmerscale We've been hearing a lot that the way the player takes orders is unintuitive. We're planning some change to the UI to help steer them in the right direction, and those are some great tips we can follow. Thanks for playing!
@strong99 I wouldn't feel too bad, I can't make over $0.80 myself. Thanks for playing!
@chase-of-bass Thank you so much for your feedback! And thanks for playing too!
@durkagames That's a good idea, it'd be nice to have some kind of scoring separate from the sheer number of customers served. After all, not all of their drinks are equal in complexity. Thanks for playing!
@coatline Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@sephowepho I'm kicking myself a bit because a lives counter was in the works. Unfortunately we ran out of time before the jam's deadline. Rest assured though, we have a couple of other things we wanted to include too, so you might see something in a future update. Thanks for playing!
really cute and charming game!! i love the color scheme, and the art for the barista is soooo adorable!! the controls were really easy to learn and grasp, and the music and sound effects were very fitting and relaxing, even while the number of customers and complication of orders increased! it would've been awesome to see more art similar to the barista for the NPCs, because i'm really really in love with her design
@bison-warlock Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed the barista's design. We would have loved to include something for the NPCs as well, unfortunately we had to cut off our artist when there was only 15 minutes left in the jam
Nice game! It is well executed, and i really like the art and music :)
Very fun game. Intuitive, fast paced, challenging, but not unfair. Love the cafe environment too. Got up to $10 but I think I can do more. I wonder if there was a way to clear your cup once you make a mistake? I broke my run because I accidently put espresso instead of coffee..
@r3l0ad1 Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
@twowolf Holy crap, I can't imagine getting $10. You must have coffee shop experience, very well done! Unfortunately, there is no way to clear your cup other than to serve it to a customer. It's quite unforgiving, but maybe including a trash bin or sink would make the player's life easier  Thanks for playing!
It's a very nice game, I really enjoyed the colors)
God this game stressful af, perfectly simulates an overworked barista. Love the graphics.
Very good game. Super cool that there are a lot of different stations and ingredients. I would like to see what I already added in the coffee, just to check if something is missing. Aside from that, I really like the graphics and sound design!
Super stressful, but very fun.
Only issue I had was that I found it very hard to read the text on the orders in the web version, not sure if this was intended
Thanks everyone for playing over the weekend! Sorry if I didn't get back to you right away, it's Canadian Thanksgiving and I've been in a turkey coma.
@mikkyti Thanks for playing! We enjoy the colours too
@goateejoe I don't know if it's just because I hate myself, but I love me a stressful game. Thanks for playing!
@xcarl This is an interesting idea to see what's in the cup. On the one hand, I'd like to know myself too, because that's definitely an ease of access thing. Thanks for playing, you've given me something to think about!
@rosymaple I also have a hard time reading the orders, I'm going to squint myself into blindness if I'm not careful. We're planning some UI reworks, and I'm looking to see if I can get the text bigger so I can play my own game :stuck_out_tongue: Thanks for playing!
Cool game! I like the art and mechanics, a little hard for me, some clients order all lol, cool and funny sounds, nice work!
@dreamerflow The everything orders kill me too, but I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for playing
