Love the art style, mood and music of the game! I'm really suprised what a complex game you delivered in such a short amount of time. Took me a while to understand the game play, but it was intriguing enough to spend a bit longer on it :) Good job!
Overall super fun ! Great visuals too , love the 2d 3d harmony !
Wow, amazing job! I love the art style and you even managed to include a perfectly working boss fight. Incredible entry!

Very Nice entry ! Love the art style 2D/3D Love the music, gameplay not to hard not to easy. I think I had a bug against the beshop at the end after the 2th raise he clipted into the ground and I couldn't hit him anymore so I died :/

As others have said the 2D/3D mashup of this game is executed wonderfully. Love the characters. Combat is also done very very well. It is possible to dash outside of the level but I was able to dash back in so no problem. Great job!

Nice looking game , gameplay is great ( few bugs ) forgiveble. Impressive dept for a jam game overal a great game!
Very nice and fun game, some points worth mentioning:
- I couldn't figure out I had to move out of the first platform after defeating the enemy, maybe some indicator on the first level to help to player understand he has to proceed to the next one. - Difficulty ramp up is very nicely done, however I would have add a few more levels before the boss, it felt a bit short in my opinion, but given the short amount of time for the jam it's already pretty good :)
Loved the music and the art style, very consistent and serves the game well. Good job guys!

Best game I've seen so far! Good job!

This is far better than a lot of crap people charge money for!
The only problem I had was when fighting some enemy at the edge of the current area and the camera started shaking so much I could not aim my melee attacks at them so I had to step away and use ranged attacks instead

Lovely artsyle, fun and satisfying gameplay. really awesome game. was fun to play :D
Really beautiful game ! The gameplay is good, I really like the fact that you have to dash through enemies to kill them, it adds a really nice feelings !
Good job~
Really nice mix of good looking 3d and 2d art! The upgrade system and some twists give a lot of replayability to the simple concept of the game!
Hey nice job! Crispy gamplay, I went through the game to the final and was satisfied with the dynamics! Got one bug when everything went negative, but it looked appropriate!
Thanks for submitting your game for me to play on my stream!

Good luck on your ratings, see you next LD! :D

Such a wonderful game. I only wish there were more levels. The game didn't feel too hard after few upgrades and with a nice setup it could be escalated, making progress super easy.
Good work, team!
This game is actually a lot of fun to play, and looks great as well.
The game was fun, I reached the boss level. The looping music was just right, it was enticing. I liked it overall.

I like how the theme has been implemented in here. Such a cool concept you guys got! The visuals are stunning, the mixture of 2D and 3D works really well. I like the melee and ranged attack mechanic, it makes a lot of sense and feels natural when playing. There was a pretty big team working on this game and it looks amazing! Well done to all of you! (❁´◡`❁)
Hey there! Probably a lot of people pointed that camera makes the gameplay way more difficult and crazy. Didn't manage to went through, but anyway quite a nice entry! The art and sound is totally nailed, gameplay wise it's also done quite well. And humor, of course. Get a star from me - :star: !

I loved it!
It's absolutely gorgeous for a jam game. The 3D environments, the lights, the FX, the 2D characters, the UI, everything looks great and fit well with the other elements. And it plays well! Movement feels smooth, attacks are clear enough, and the dash to finish enemies is very satisfying. The time mechanic is elegant and well executed.
I would love to see a longer version someday!
Great job ✨

Amazing work! I loved the hand drawn assets and how they were 2D in a 3D environment.
When I was fighting the boss there were a few times when I couldn't hit him. (With melee when he had the glow effect.)
I also had to burn some of my precious time waiting for him to reanimate which is rough when that is so limited.
There was another bug where the damage effect (which was extremely cool!) stayed when I started a new run. And I'm sure you also are aware of the camera panning away from the room when too close to the edges.
Great work overall! One of the best of the jam.

I played this one on stream last night! unfortunately the VOD got muted, so no link :(
This game was amazing! other than the crash I experienced on stream, I have nothing negative to say. Bounce upgrade is super OP, but it didn't make me have any less fun!

I like the size of your team :P Just kidding. I love the game. The harmony between 2D and 3D although you have a huge contrast between colors is great. Background being a little desaturated is actually helping character to look more likely. SFX is great too. I think it could be easier for the sake of the jam since not many people play games that long.
That was brilliant and so well polished, wowzers! You managed to make a proper tutorial, level progression, balancing and even a well done boss fight, well done, especially for a jam! The game is a lot of fun, looks and feels great. Nice!

very well done. my respect. great work. i love the mood the graphics and music brings. The theme was super implemented in a different way than most have probably done it. keep up the good work.
Graphic is amazing, sound effect is on point and the game mechanics run great. 10/10 Would be great if you can add an indicator that tells the player where to go after clearing the level. I was confused why there's no enemies spawn after I killed the first one, ended up restarting the game for 3 times until I figured out hahaha
I played this for you on [stream](https://www.twitch.tv/timbeaudet) and I think I gave good feedback there, if so give a heart, and if not, don't!!

I think this was definitely one of the highlights I have seen this jam! It is not too innovative or anything but it is just **solid, great game**. Jam-wise, it probably is further from the theme than I would prefer but I can accept that because not taking the theme too seriously definitely makes the game a lot better in this case.
Audiovisual presentation is very good and polished. Characters are maybe slightly too cartoony when compared to the environment but this is just me nitpicking. Getting art style this polished during a jam is a great accomplishment.
The enemy variety stays high enough during the game. I always appreciate when teams design their games to be played in a jam environment. This game is just the right length so many jam-players are able to complete it. The game even gives the player the small reward of introducing the final boss. The boss is quite well designed by the way - I like how it utilises but twists the mechanics the player has seen before! The game is maybe a bit too easy for my taste but then again we come to the art of creating games to be played during a jam. For that the difficulty is probably perfect.
Great work!
One of the best looking submissions I've seen! I absolutely loved the art direction and all the animation work here. On top of that, the game is super fun too! If it had some more feedback effects on the combat (some frame freeze, extra VFX etc) it would be on par with finished games of similar style, like Cult of the Lamb. Music and sound design were amazing too, really complimented the style and mood of the game. Really awesome job, well done!
Liked the game, felt very satisfying to play, really like the look of it. Only real issue I had was that there was no real indication that I should move on to a different area after defeating the first enemy. Otherwise really enjoyed it! - Peter
Thank you for submitting this to my stream! I was very impressed by the graphics you managed to produce in the time you had, also nice incorporation of the theme. I just felt that some of the enemies were a bit bullet spongey - and could have died in a bit fewer hits. But overall great entry!

I discovered the game on a stream, just one word : Insane Everything is so clean, really great job !
Very funny game. Immediatly after the first game, I play a few more times the game to try other ways to play it. Melee and range were both satisfying, you did good !
Graphics, I mean background, characters, special effects, the menus too (Options, etc), sounds and musics are excellent. Maybe the camera is too slow and we take damages from ennemies we try too reach (And we touch the border of the camera).
I'm not sure about the theme, and it's the only "real" problem. The result is good, pay the time you have and guess how much you need, but I am not sure that was totally pertinent. But not off-topic.
Really good job. The game is fun and very clean !
This is the best game I've played in the jam yet. It gives me a lot to do over time, not ending soon, but also not getting repetitive. It's challenging, but just enough to keep me want to keep playing.

Thanks for sending to me on stream! I'm extremely impressed by this. The level of quality to all aspects of the game is incredible. The 2D / 3D art style is simply gorgeous and the music is very nice to listen to. Honestly I'm stunned by the level of polish and fun overall. Incredible job team!!
Very impressive for a jam game! Excellent job working together to get this finished in just one weekend!
The most polished game I've seen so far! Impeccable graphics! Just so many beautiful details! Amazing 3d models, well designed UI, effects are beautiful! love it!

Visually very impressive! The sprites are great, and there's lot of animations and VFX. Audio is pretty neat as well.
The chore mechanic is cool, and the controls are fun to play with. However I found the game a bit too challenging. Most of the time enemies would take more time to kill that they allow to gain, and it's easy to lose time just by walking from one to another. I had very few occasions to actually buy power-ups, I was always short on time! ^^'
The game was still fun in the end. Balancing in jam is always difficult, especially when it comes to timing! You did an impressive job on this entry, well done!

Awesome job. I've tested the game yesterday at a french event, dev were nice and super humble. This is a masterpiece. Good job guilloteam!
@lepoulet Merci beaucoup, content que le jeu t'aie plu! Au plaisir de se revoir à l'occasion ;)
Je teste ton jeu dans la journée!
Interesting game. Love the 2d/3d cutout style of characters.

Looks awesome, the music is nice. I didn't like the blood ball sound, but that's my only nitpick. Other than that, the game is very entertaining. I won on my fourth attempt - and I might come back later for more as I really had a blast
Great job ppl!
Such a fantastic game! Super well executed, looks great, sounds great, plays great, hits the theme. Solid all the way around. Phenomenal job

What a nice roguelite! I like the implementation of time as resource for upgrades and for life. The art and music are wonderful, good job!
Amazing entry and very well executed. I like that the time is also your life, it's a very good idea. On one of my runs i had a bug where the player went under the ground... it was fun but i lose x) The art and music are very good, i particularly like the design of upgrade UI. You've created a really consistent world. Good job all the team !

A really fun concept and a really polished style to the game for sure. Some interesting enemy designs and mixups as to how to avoid them. Though not too much variety in the direct combat I'd say, it sorta ended up just being right and left click all the time for me.
Which is unfortunate, but sorta makes sense, the first couple runs I did I didn't pick up as may damage upgrades and without them the enemies are quite tanky, even with some of them they're quite tanky. Which was a little weird.
Besides that though it was satisfying getting a dash worth of 30 seconds. As well as comboing enemies could be nice, and still a little dangerous considering the power of some of the ranged ones.
Though I will say the hitbox of the enemies is a little iffy "depth" wise. There were a lot of times that it seemed like I hit, but it didn't quite manage to collide due to how thin they were. Which, normally would probably have looked fine, but combo'd with the angle and the 2D in 3D sorta style it makes it a little hard to hit sometimes from certain angles. Though that's a bit of a problem with the setup in general so nothing specific.
Also a little annoyance I would say is that the camera has a ahbit of moving away to the middle when there are enemies at the bottom of the screen it seems like. Which led to a few situations where I was running in the dark trying to hit/find an enemy and not being able to see them off the bottom of the screen.
Other than that though a really polished game and a really fun one. The style is absolutely nailed and it definitely fits the idea in my opinion. Just a little tweaking gameplay side. But it's a jam, not entirely surprising.

Really cool and fun game! I like the mix of 2D and 3D assets! :) The game concept is pretty nice :D
I think the game is too hard (for me at least), I was barely to reach room 3 or 4. Maybe reduce the health of the enemies in the first rooms?
You should point the player to the exit of the first room.
I had a bug: the boss is walking around under the ground so I couldn't kill him. But no problem, I played it again and killed the boss and... know what... I loved the gameplay so I played it a third time

Is good
The game is fun and dynamic, great job, I had a lot of fun! But the camera moves complicates the game since we can't continuesly aim at our target.
Superb game. Though the every 10 seconds is a bit stretch, but it's there. And the game is fun!
Very good execution. The dash was super imprecise for me though, the shooting also a bit. I would be alone with one enemy and dash 6 times and never execute it. The fact that time is a mix of currency, health, and pressure made me never want to upgrade. The effects were also too distracting, especially the yellow cross attacks and the indication effect for when we get hit.
I really liked the levels and the upgrades.
Very polished and overall great experience!
@tomga Is nice comment :D
I played your game on the stream yesterday! It's beautiful :3

This a really great game! The graphics and sound are awesome. Gameplay is mostly nice. One thing that I would change is the dash mechanic. It felt a bit awkward sometimes. I would prefer a dash towards the nearest enemy (or enemies if you have the chain-dash upgrade). Also the camera was sometimes not ideal. Maybe a fixed camera for the room would work better (like in The Binding of Isaac). Other than that it works really well. It took me some time to understand that I can buy upgrades any time, but then I liked that pay with time mechanic a lot. Also the boss fight is nice.
I would not mind if the pope would learn about Count down Dracula and send some more bishops towards him ;) I hope you keep developing this one further!
Okay, where to start... The game is A M A Z I N G. I believe this has 100% potential to go onto steam or maybe switch eshop with a post jam version.
I listed few issues(some technical, some in my opinion): 1) While the controls are explained very well, it doesn't say anything about WSAD movement in the game (or I missed it, in that case sorry) 2) The circular shape of the arena suggested to me that the enemies will come in waves for some reason, maybe that's just me, but I lost my first try because I didn't go to the next arena in time, maybe there could be a small indicator that you should go this way for a first time player. 3) I had one visual bug drac1.png I'm not sure about steps to reproduce as I didn't try to do it, but I'm pretty sure it happened when my time ran out while post-process of being hit was still on screen (but the time loss didn't come from the hit), it fixed itself after choosing an upgrade. 4) Very minor one, but the humorous descriptions of skills confused me at first, don't get me wrong they are awesome and clever, but there were not distinct enough for me and I tried to read it as part of upgrade description at first and it was a little confusing, not an issue after a few reads of course. 5) Camera would sometimes jump drastically, which was most visible for me in the Archbishop fight 6) Archbishop fight seemed very unfair first time that I got to him as he burns through your time with animations during which you can't do anything to him or to gain time. It was very frustrating to come up to him with about 8 secs left and just accepting the fact that you don't really have a chance to defeat him with this limited time, while the game up to this point was fine with very high risk high reward concept of running on low time but high amount of upgrades. This issue ties in a little bit to my thought that I had while playing about the idea to have Seconds being used as resource for upgrades and as character's health while it was constantly ticking down based on it's very nature of depleting with passing time. It was very flavourful and in general I think you will and you even should stick to this design, but it seems that it is balancing on thin line of being fun idea or frustrating idea. It's always a tough have dual (or more) purpose mechanics for upgrades, as it may incentivize players to wrong behaviours (in this case - not upgrading in fear of losing time).
Art style is of course top notch, absolutely gorgeous, but I think that is already expected from Guillo, gameplay as I already stated is great, audio for me to be honest was just ok, probably it's a matter of taste, but while the music was good and I can't state that it should be improved because it was crafted very well, I think a different style would fit the mood more for me. Something more castlevania-like or bach-like probably, but then again, this is based on personal preference.
After I defeated the Archbishop I was filled with both joy and sadness. I was very happy to beat the game and I enjoyed the experience, I was however very sad that it is already over. Hope to see a full version down the road. Keep up the great work, wish you all the best with rates in this LD and see You guys during next jams!

@stmatn @bart-moon Thank you very much for your in-depth feedbacks, it helps a lot! So glad you liked the game!
@bart-moon the visual bug happens when you get hit and die (it's in fact the shader of the "get hit" which gets stucks and stays on screen), and it fixes itself when you get hit again. Whish we had more time for testings :D
We are not planning right now to continue on this one, as much as we'd love to; instead we are working on another jam game from this year, consider to try it out aswell, you might like it! Here: https://guilloteam.itch.io/how-to-dice-mushrooms (Count Down Dracula was a ton of experience tho, and thus we plan to incorporate some of the game designs from it into "How to Dice" :D)
@guilloteam While I understand your decision to keep working on GMTK entry instead of this one, I still hope that Count will continue feasting in the future. I know I already praised the game a lot, but I have to say that this is one of the very few games that I actually want to play (even in it's current form) even after the jam finishes. I already beat the game few times with different builds and I want more. Wish You the best with How to Dice, I hope that it's success will help found full release of Count :D
@bart-moon That goes straight to our hearts, thank you very much. We hope that How to Dice will be as pleasant as this one and even more! Stay tuned!
hey, great effort and top quality game for a game jam. I really liked that you made the effort to make boss music. great animations and art. You really tied the storytelling really well with the game. I only have small things to point. some diversity to the map would add a lot to the game. the player should know somehow (camera or notification?) when its time to move to next circle area. Great job!

This one was genuinely amazing. I was at first put off by the screenshots, but once in-game, oof! The immersiveness of the art and music hit me, and I enjoyed playing it a fair bit. I did come across the bug where the colors got a bit buggy, and wish the hitting mechanic worked better for me, but otherwise, definitely a game to prep for full release.
Good luck with it, and I hope to see more of it. Great job this time around!

That was fun! game feels overall pretty good. Graphics are very nice and the mood works well (The grainy filter is a great touch). Once I understood what to upgrade it got really easy, but overall definitely of the best game I played from this jam! Some well made stuff.
Really cool game. I love the flavor of a vampire's resource being time. Getting the "engine" going with some of the upgrades that buff your time per kill felt really good. Very cute graphics as well, love the style. Nice job!
Really Great! Love the Vampire theme and the graphics are great. It took me a second to figure out the controls but I think this is part of the fun of the game. Well done!
This is so much fun to play!
Game was fun, loved the atmosphere and the powerups, however, I felt some enemies had a bit too much health

absolutely fabulous! take my stars right now :)
The best game I've played so far out of this jam, everything from the graphics to the sounds and design was spot on. The combat could have had more depth and it also didn't make much sense to my why I could attack both melee and ranged at the same time. Nonetheless great submission.
Very polished one, congratz of finishing the project!

absolutely amazing game! feels so good to finish them off with dash and bite
itsboats
2022-10-21 04:23
Great game! Forcing the player to be aggressive with the biting mechanic and using time as an upgrade resource is very clever. It was a little easy for me but maybe I just got lucky with some of my upgrades and its better to make things easier for jam anyway too xD. I also didnt notice my first playthrough because its pretty subtle, but the fact you have a day/night cycle is really cool! The only things I really had trouble with was dashing into people sometimes I wouldnt munch them even though I was basically already touching them and range attacks felt way better (balance wise) than the melee attacks
@itsboats Thank you very much, glad you liked the game!
There are some balance issues yeah, mainly due to the fact that both ranged and melee attacks deal the same amount of damage (which wasn't intended, but ended up that way in the final build ^^'). And for the dash precision, we'll figure out a way to get rid of those akwards moments when you dash around your target wihout getting on it. Thanks for your feedback!
