LD49 — Unstable

Doc. Noggin by Mr_Field 2021-10-15T15:20:37Z

Absolutely loved the visuals, although I had a hard time seeing holes in the level. The take on the theme was very interesting and the sound design was really well done!

Demolition Mouse by lonewookie 2021-10-16T03:02:32Z

Charming visuals and frantic climbs made for a fun entry, just wish that there was more and I had continues, starting the whole game again was pretty brutal. Great stuff!

The Landscape Hates You! by RonanRory 2021-10-11T18:35:52Z

The sound design was delightful and had me smiling the whole game! The variety of block types made for some interesting levels and the animations were great!

Cloudfall by Diego Escalante 2021-10-13T16:58:07Z

The dynamic music and presentation are great, I really liked that cloud dissolving animation! I noticed that when I died in slow motion, the music was still in slow motion when the game restarted.

This was one of my favorite entries this LD!

Unstable Shadow Trials by Almog 2021-10-16T02:33:21Z

Wow! Loved the game's visual style and voice acting. I encountered bug where a textbox was covered by another layer of background void and another bug where I spawned outside of the level after falling into a hole. The depth in this time frame is super impressive and it kept me playing for a while! Well done!

Steady Grounds by jsloth 2021-10-16T02:48:27Z

Really liked the take on the theme! The visuals were cute, the physics were delightfully chaotic and a very impressive number of levels!

Reactor by Birdwards 2021-10-17T13:41:10Z

The sound design is really good and the nature of the movement made for an interesting puzzle game! Well done!

ch1Pik by NinjaCatz 2021-10-17T14:23:29Z

That aesthetic! That music! I love it! The puzzle design is very good, I particularly appreciated the undo feature in the more complex levels. Great entry!

Fight Or Flight by Monado 2021-10-15T03:05:49Z

Really like the vibe of this game. Tough as nails at points, but the style kept me hooked!

Natura Disastia by Dedjo0 2021-10-16T16:35:42Z

Absolutely fantastic music and visuals! The fighting took a minute to click with me, but after that there was a really interesting game here!

UnStabled by Zackavelli 2021-10-12T01:55:23Z

I was impressed by how intuitive the game is and the situation variety kept me playing this one for a while. The sound design and the presentation are very clean and the moving parts come together so well. About the only problem I had was the wall of instructions at the start.

Benji's Boat by MargotLsdgt 2021-10-15T15:52:32Z

I found the game to be very charming. The visuals and music are very pleasant and I really liked the chaos of trying to keep the cargo on board. Good entry!

Head Librarian by Daniel Giorlando 2021-10-16T21:58:27Z

The premise and graphics are super cute and the game has a great sense of humor!

Slime Asylum by Jel2217 2021-10-17T14:07:23Z

The music and frantic action really made this a fun entry! Great stuff!

Jam Fall by StaticBits 2021-10-17T13:54:34Z

Congratulations on your first jam game! It felt good in my hands and the visuals are really nice!

Vitamin D-Ficient by BougieBirdie 2021-10-15T16:21:21Z

Congratulations on your first entry! The title grabbed my attention immediately and I found the homemade sound and music to be quite charming. About the only thing I found a bit curious was the animation when I won, so I had to go off of the sound effects for win/fail states. Great entry, looking forward to more from you!

UNSTAYABLE by shmador 2021-10-16T16:09:19Z

You really nailed the horror vibe with this, the beeping speeding up really sells the rising intensity! About the only negative I can think of is that the game required an installer instead of just being an executable in a zip folder. Great entry!

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Possum Blitz by LeviDSmith 2022-04-13T03:10:31Z

Very pick up and play, very nice feeling too. The difficulty escalates nicely as it goes making for a pretty good sense of progression and the graphics are absolutely adorable!

The Long Journey Home by OccultOne 2022-04-17T19:00:46Z

This was like discovering a PS2 gem!

Even as a proof of concept, there's a lot to love here. You nailed the character design, the world, the style and vibe of the game. At the moment it's a little slow, especially travelling between islands, but still super charming and engaging! Fantastic entry, hope to play more of it in the future!

Bullets For Hell by davision 2022-04-10T06:40:03Z

This is awesome! The spectacle of this game, ridiculous tall guns vs an endless horde of demons, is pulled off so well. Upgrading the gun is always exciting and grabbing all of the energy orbs is just a satisfying site. Well done!

Kiwis Can't Fly by DDRKirbyISQ 2022-04-08T01:39:15Z

The illustrations and music give this some really cozy vibes. So many little details and a touching story, just a really pretty entry and one of my favorites so far.

JUGGERNAUT by cogcomp 2022-04-09T06:40:43Z

I got DOS game vibes from this and that's an instant win in my books. With the given tools and time limit, this is absolutely incredible. Loved the music, too.

Akubi by Almax 2022-04-06T02:02:45Z

Love the look and feel on this! Super polished, especially those attack animations and those backgrounds are freakin' gorgeous! Loved it!

Bomb Fuse Madness by svntax 2022-04-08T03:01:06Z

You got the theme bang on in the mechanics, and the sound excellently compliments the feel of the game!

Block or Bust by 100th_Coin 2022-04-17T20:29:11Z

This. Freakin'. ROCKED.

There's so much and it all comes together so well! The level of polish is astonishing and the way you kept this coherent and balanced is really impressive! Solid entry!

GO GA by unless games 2022-04-13T02:29:30Z

This game is drenched in style! The sleek and clean character art, the noisy background breaking away and the animation are amazing to look at. Playing it was also super slick and paired well with the sound design.

12 Hours by GeraldFIngBurke 2022-04-06T02:59:27Z

I personally believe the spinning makes this game. The dry world with a bleak, heavy event about to transpire contrasting with the silly spinning is very funny and interesting.

On Company Time by Bongard22 2022-04-05T03:25:34Z

I love the art in this game! There's so much visual detail and yet it's all very readable and ties together really nice. The minigames are easy to pick up and play, the sense of humor is delightful and it's an overall, really polished entry!

Escape from Nowhere by lbrande 2022-04-09T19:57:21Z

A nice classic feeling game. I think a little more leeway with the hitboxes would be appreciated, but that's really the only nitpick I could think of. It feels satisfying to nail a turn and has a very addictive quality to it. I found myself wanting to beat my previous high scores for a while!

Turbo Toilet Tomfoolery! by RonanRory 2022-04-09T06:11:19Z

Hey, I thought this was a neat entry. I would've appreciated a little more nuanced collision with these controls, but you nailed the game's personality! I burst out laughing when I heard the coworker being shoved, great stuff!

Bonanananza by shieldgenerator7 2022-04-09T05:34:44Z

Great entry! The gun is satisfying to fire, made even better with those combos! Loved the cutscenes and the menu, really clever stuff.

Mow Bot by Seng 2022-04-09T20:47:06Z

Very well made entry. Polished, intuitive and pretty!

Crushing Dread by Sciman101 2022-04-05T02:23:47Z

Wow, I love this take on the theme, really sells the "impending doom" feel. Conceptually, you really nailed this and it looks and plays solid!

Also, thanks for introducing me to the works of LCS.

FUSE by Ossi 2022-04-07T01:51:53Z

This is a cool entry! I like this take on the theme, and that effect where the flames become smoke is a really nice touch!

Torchero by Slowline 2022-04-08T05:32:03Z

The visual polish does a lot for this! It's really satisfying to axe your way through a wall of enemies!

Icebreak by tylerstraub 2022-04-06T03:47:09Z

Really interesting game. The art is crisp and nice, the controls are solid and the difficulty ramps very steadily.

The Last Savior by JustusPan 2022-04-10T17:42:05Z

Wow, this is so polished and feels great to play! The action was tense but never overwhelming and the survival phase is just a great rush. Fantastic entry!

Invasion of the Sky Pirate Frogs by lovetocode999 2022-04-18T06:35:11Z

I really like the visual design, it's charming and gets the important details right. Like when an enemy has more health, it has a larger ship. I also noticed the menu cursor becomes a reticle when aiming out at the ships and then becomes a zone selection tool for placing more artillery on the island, even going as far as to appropriately lock to a grid. It's easy to read at a glance, and I appreciated that a lot.

The balance could use a little tuning. Early on, I felt the bullets were a little difficult to aim over long distances without backup. They were just a little too slow in most situations and I ended up just missing most of the time.

Other than that, the music is great and again, the visual direction is cohesive and endearing! Keep it up!

Snow Dude! by Zliebowitz 2022-04-09T05:51:11Z

Title screen jam got me pumped, the music and game did not slow down that momentum! Super polished, really nice selection of levels and it's just really fun to play.

One Bite by Lenan 2022-04-05T01:29:07Z

Movement and collision feel great! The minimalist palette, the character design and the overall mood are really nice and the visual effects and sound design really tie it all together!

Pizza Gal by No Grapes Games 2022-04-06T02:13:20Z

Love the cute character design, and really creative take on the theme!

Mr.Filton Deluxe by DS Nahogara 2022-04-09T07:00:14Z

A lot to like about this game! Loved seeing my creations duke it out with those little squash and stretch animations!

Blizzard by FallingFlatStudios 2022-04-13T03:34:36Z

Aww this is super charming. I love the expressive characters and atmosphere, chilly winter vibes in a cold and quite unforgiving world. This is already enjoyable, but I think a variable jump height would really elevate this.

Defend 'till the end by kjscott 2022-04-17T18:17:52Z

Controls are immediate and intuitive, downtime is minimal and the visual effects from the bullets and planet impact details absolutely complete this package.

Ice Ace by vila6 2022-04-10T07:01:22Z

The character is super cute and I love the interpretation of the theme!

Fronk Frizby - Qoffee Cuest by LiquidFunk 2022-04-18T16:05:05Z

Haha, this was a ride! Good music and a delightfully strange cast of characters.

Balloon Drift by matt1will 2022-04-13T02:46:03Z

I love Pico-8 games and this is no exception! Jump arc felt good, the theme is woven well into the game's design and the little effects like the dust, are really nice!

Explon't by DaFluffyPotato 2022-04-14T01:32:26Z

First of all, looks absolutely beautiful! Every action feels great, has a lot of weight to it and is complimented very well with the sound design. Absolutely solid package, especially made in such a tight time limit!

Lava Hop by BarelyEvenGames 2022-04-07T02:14:28Z

Super polished and fun! The game just feels right, being easy to pick up and play, and the use of the theme plays right into the mechanics. It's an absolutely solid package!

=< 1001 Nights by alpacalypse 2022-04-06T02:30:17Z

This was really interesting. I was amused with the large number of directions a story could go, as well as the reactions it would receive. Cool game.

Somnipathy by Cyzaine 2022-04-10T05:57:09Z

Great visuals and sound design. Delightfully creepy and a fun, wild ride! Also, props for having a staggering amount of world to play in!

WHEN NANA SAYS IT'S TIME FOR SCHOOL by alyd asmar 2022-04-06T03:35:44Z

The art is super nice and the music is great! Really interesting idea to design a game with directories and files!

The Assessment by Okamit 2022-04-10T05:42:41Z

Super polished Wario-Ware style game! I loved the premise, the visuals and I found the microgames pretty intuitive and decently varied. Great stuff!

Vampire Run by Turquoise Moon 2022-04-07T02:37:42Z

Cool concept, I really like the animations in this!

The Adventures of: π‘Ίπ’π’Šπ’‘π’‘π’š 𝑱𝒐𝒆 by SephoWepho 2022-04-09T19:38:21Z

The game escalates smoothly and has great visual design. I like how you used Slippy Joe's expression as an indicator for when you need to recharge, as well as the bar at the bottom of the screen. I had my eyes on the middle and bottom of the screen for the most part, and never felt I wasn't aware of the situation in either case. The color changes are a very nice touch, too. Awesome!

Giraffe o'Clock by Kepsert 2022-04-05T01:12:39Z

The sprite work is super cute, particularly when you hold onto a ledge! The music is jamming and the dialogue is quite funny, makes for an endearing adventure. Level design is really good too, I like how you played with the ledge grabbing and how the levels compliment the solid controls and movement. Love this game.

Maylo's journey by Skylife 2022-04-16T04:34:34Z

Absolutely nailed the controls, and the camera really sells the gravity in the game!

Too Real by shellofagirl 2022-04-07T02:56:57Z

Well, this was quite heavy. I loved every moment of it!

Timeless by shmador 2022-04-07T02:06:17Z

This is great, love the minimalist colors and character design! The levels felt really clever, and the fact that there's so many is really impressive!

Caterpillar by LDJQ 2022-04-15T06:09:23Z

Super different and just fascinating. Visually intense and unabashedly weird. I am here for it! I would love to see more of the garden, and meet more characters.

A Nerd's Delay by hatmajaster 2022-04-06T02:36:57Z

Great music, great visuals and a great ending that cracked me up haha.

Beebs Bump by Beebster Games 2022-04-06T03:13:07Z

I immediately got old-school windows game vibes from the visuals and layout and loved it. Also, really nice music!

Growing up by FancyPrice 2022-04-16T04:08:47Z

Aww this is super packed with charm in the art and the story is genuinely touching. I encountered the chair bug mentioned by others and noticed a couple of text boxes in the English text overflow, thus leading to some text not reading quite right. Despite its problems, I loved every moment of what I played and totally vibe with the excellent music and visuals!

Death By Balloon by VonFuzzius 2022-04-17T21:41:11Z

Just a solid arcade entry. Easy to pick up and play, no down time between games. I think it really clicked for me when I understood the wall jump. My best score was 3560!

Bleed by Carbon6 2022-04-17T21:02:45Z

Love old-school style first person games! The sound of the timer ticking down complimented this great moment where I was running low on time, found and barely made it to the exit. Great sense of theming!

Snooze by the_nacho 2022-04-08T05:35:44Z

What a great concept for this theme! Haha, loved it!

Death Chasing by Tano 2022-04-05T02:52:29Z

At first, I thought this was going to be very straight-forward, but it quickly escalated and twisted my expectations in interesting ways. Really well designed and visually awesome!

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Hiccups by cogcomp 2022-10-06T03:21:55Z

Wow, you managed to get a lot of different characters in this game. Even by the end, there were still more enemies being introduced and they all spiced things up quite nicely. The only thing I would think to tweak, is the mix on the sound effects, they overpower the music a bit. Despite that, it's a solid entry!

Gelato Drift by thomz12 2022-10-05T01:54:25Z

Really nails a nice balance between style and substance. It's cute and vibrant visually, easy to learn and hard to master, as any good arcade game should be. It is really satisfying to nail a tight turn.

Just Roll With It! by Cornflowerblue 2022-10-12T00:31:57Z

Yeeaaah! This is radical, real classic SEGA vibes in this game! Polished to an absolute shine, the character design and soundtrack absolutely blew me away. Level variety is nice too, compliments the core play very well and of course, looks great!

A Space Polka in Ten Parts by eerongal 2022-10-03T23:34:06Z

This is a really enjoyable entry. The music *perfectly* compliments the frantic running around as various things go to hell, especially when my crew was taken out.

10 second arcade by loveapplegames 2022-10-03T02:50:29Z

You got a lot of variation out of one concept, even some level generation in there. In 48 hours no less! The graphics really hit for me, that palette gives me DOS vibes and I'm here for it!

HAZCAT - Toxic Feline by johnnysix 2022-10-07T00:06:18Z

The depth of the graphics is really nice, but the star of the show is the main character! The animation is sleek and stylish, it's like playing a lost Gameboy Advance game! The character controls are serviceable for sure, wish I had a bit more hang time and maybe slightly less slip when letting go, but hey, it's nothing I couldn't adapt to. The screen shake is a bit crazy for my taste, but that's about the only thing that gives me pause. Rad stuff!

Beardadette and the Eternal Hiccup by Honest Dan 2022-10-04T02:55:45Z

The level of polish in 72 hours is unreal, the audio/visual style is impressive! I came to really appreciate the dynamic music, as timing the hiccups was easier to listen for, for me. You hit it for the theme with the hiccup mechanic, it's very cute and fun, probably my favorite take so far. Absolutely rad!

Symphony of Legend by VivianMochi 2022-10-04T03:24:09Z

I absolutely love this game! Clearly readable, sounds pretty and most important, plays responsive. I really like how the music compliments the area you're in and how each enemy has representation in the music. Definitely my favorite I've played thus far.

Call It A Day by Stenyin 2022-10-09T02:28:05Z

Aww it's super cute and plays great! The polish is crazy! Everything animates in a very satisfying way, while visually rich it is always comprehensible and the day time version of the music was an unexpected, pleasant surprise and I **love** it!

Hylee's Little Potion Shop by Federico Giorgi 2022-10-07T00:42:15Z

This game is really cute, I'm a real sucker for 2D sprites in a 3D world and this is no exception. The star of the show is the character design, the customers as well as the main character look great. The soundtrack compliments the frantic gameplay nicely. It is all around very charming and I'd love to see more if you decide to continue work on this!

Out Of Order by TinyLittleStudio 2022-10-03T03:00:10Z

Aww the aesthetic of this is delightful, lots of little things that make it really charming. I really appreciate that little turn thing, gives it a Paper Mario feel. Checkpoints would be appreciated, I admit one too many times I fell into a pit only to have to wait for the next battery to kick in, but that's really the only thing I can think of that I'd change.

Holospecter by theStoff 2022-10-05T00:51:54Z

This is super engaging, I played all the way to the end. The production and quality of the production is rad! Voice acting, good sound design and a killer soundtrack, tie together a desperate escape from a hostile facility wonderfully. The main character's portrait design was giving me some serious The World Ends With You vibes, and the level visuals are some of the finest pixel art I've seen this jam. The levels escalate nicely and as a bonus, there's quite a few of them! None of them are so hard I wanted to stop, but none of them are a pushover, either.

The visuals sold me on trying it, but the quality of everything made me want to finish it. Definitely one of the best this jam.

Anxiety by lesinvisible 2022-10-06T00:11:11Z

I really enjoy drinking in the atmosphere. The amped guitar and hand made art give this a different and very memorable vibe.

Dolores To Donuts by No Grapes Games 2022-10-09T04:56:28Z

Took a couple tries, but eventually got it. Wild you designed 2 games in one, it's super engaging! The only bit I can think to change is I wish the HTML5 version on itch was larger. Other than that, really rad!

110% by SciDev 2022-10-03T03:44:12Z

:fireworks: The chaotic storm of attacks really makes this for me! The premise is great and the polish is crazy! The little rising beep as the timer goes down is appreciated, I almost never looked at the boss' health gauge.

It All Comes Crashing Down by Quinn_Patrick 2022-10-04T03:55:57Z

This game has a great sense of humor and progression. It's cruel, but in a fun way.

Alpaka madness - Every 10 seconds... by RobbzenOne 2022-10-07T00:24:18Z

Love it! As vibrant as it is energetic, and as fun to play as it is completely wild. I enjoyed quite a few rounds of alpaka mayhem, the situational variety keeps things fresh, but the consistent core, nice controls and ridiculous premise really make this for me!

A Handy Job by 0X_VOID_X0 2022-10-06T02:42:22Z

I like how the theme directly ties the action and plot together. The game has a unique style that prioritizes readability and comedy, controls are super nuanced and the ending is excellent :fist:. Haha, this is awesome, thanks for sharing.

Scribble Rush by Str0nkyK0ng 2022-10-04T00:02:33Z

Best played with friends at varying levels of drawing ability, the prompts tied with the time limit lead to some truly absurd art! This is a great time.

Kitten Space Opera by antbrl 2022-10-10T21:13:48Z

Good sense of atmosphere, a decent amount of polish, a respectable number of maps, cats... yep. This is a pretty solid jam entry. I would've liked a bit more variety in what the calamity beam does, but what's there already is quite nice.

Alfred, Coffee Pot [WIP] by fosf0 2022-10-10T01:49:14Z

Alfred Coffee Pot is a very weird game and I am absolutely here for it. I think the controls could use just a bit more nuance, particularly with jumping over the lasers. This game is an audiovisual treat, the moment I saw it in the feed, I made note of it to check it out later and it did not disappoint!

Ruins of Resurrection by MorePixels 2022-10-11T04:01:05Z

The whole teleporter thing is interesting, and there's a nice use of effects and transitions in the game. I respect wanting to add the challenge, but would've appreciated the option to just have the teleporter activate automatically. I suppose it balances out nicely by the state of the game not being reset every time you die (thank you for that) Just barely making it is super satisfying and the ending genuinely made me laugh.

Hostile Climate by Roboolet 2022-10-08T00:20:35Z

As it says on the tin, the game's world is very hostile. The cows suddenly appearing got a laugh out of me, the game has an interesting sense of humor. Nice visual fidelity and sound design, I'm a real sucker for Pico-8 games and this did not disappoint!

Major Magics by CasualNothing 2022-10-04T02:23:02Z

The moment I read you play as a cyborg corgi, I rushed for the download link. The star of the show for me is the visual style. The bold pinks and dark blues nail that old arcade vibe. If anything, I just wish there were more wall textures. The music, by the way, absolutely slaps.

Sprint10 by Ben Parisi 2022-10-10T02:07:06Z

The sense of speed is strong, you nailed the visual style and variety of obstacles! The last few stages were really satisfying to beat.

SKY ROBOT QUANTUM ECHO by Bosco 2022-10-06T00:33:06Z

The art in this game is really nice. Plays a bit like a game called "Timeslip", but with a very different take on how the clones work. The length of the levels never felt daunting and I think the challenges strike a pretty good balance. I admit, I had a little more fun than anyone should with how the bullets work, lol. This is a rad game!

Birdwatching by Iguanana 2022-10-03T02:03:21Z

Can't say I was expecting to learn so many bird facts this LD, but I appreciate it a lot. I would encourage you to consider a smaller penalty over deleting the whole word if you make a mistake and maybe giving the music a little more body on the low end. Other than that, the game is responsive and has this really tight, consistent aesthetic. Great stuff!

Every 10 seconds, mother comes in by lustdante 2022-10-09T01:44:52Z

The juggling act of keeping up with my online life, sleep, studying and sanity only to disappoint my mother with my grades is very relatable. The premise and character design are really cute.

Square in 10 seconds or less by Caresle 2022-10-10T02:25:03Z

Decent number of bite sized levels, pretty nuanced control and level design and nice level art. Only thing is, I wish that there were more of it, great stuff!

ergo by retrowillgames 2022-10-09T02:02:01Z

It's really satisfying to click on the squares, you really nailed the polish and sound design. This is a solid first run at LD!

Bomb Buddy by Murgn 2022-10-03T02:26:56Z

You got a lot of nice animation out of the tiny pixel aesthetic. Everything is exactly where it has to be, controls are easy and responsive, mechanics read well and the situation escalates at a nice pace. About the only other thing I could think to add to the game is music.

Blobbbert: 10 Second Navigator by Xorel 2022-10-08T03:55:10Z

First of all, congratulations on finishing your game. The design is intuitive, the art and sound work well and there's a fair amount of polish in here. You can always build more, but what's there is already pretty tight.

Every 10 Seconds I Find New And Exciting Ways To Hate Myself by ActuallyTheMoon 2022-10-08T01:17:54Z

I came in expecting a cute GameBoy style Sokoban game, it was so much more. I felt empathetic to the characters and wanted to see where they ended up. One of the more memorable games for sure, I really liked it.

Pandora’s Box [WebGL/Win/Touch] by AJ Studio 2022-10-09T04:35:30Z

This is adorable! The character design is super cute and the game is fun to run through. It plays very well and is topped off with nice music and sound design!

ScramBumble by robeecodes 2022-10-09T02:12:04Z

It's a cute score attack game, easy to pick up and play, difficult to perfect and has some nice variation on its action.

LD53 — Delivery

Little Messenger by ahistyap 2023-05-14T01:48:58Z

I saw the cover for Little Messenger, downloaded it immediately. What a cute entry! There's a really good sense of style and the character designs are adorable. I like the 2D characters in a 3D world aesthetic, it's pulled off very well here!

Volcano Buggy by Liven 2023-05-05T04:24:40Z

There's something really special about a game that can bring out a visceral, almost primal feeling. Boosting through the air at breakneck speeds around volcanic rocks that are chasing me is a pretty fun concept. I did a few laps with the blue smoke, got some air and rammed volcanic debris as hard as I could. There's a really fun car game in here!

TOWER CLIMB by JakobTheQuizGuy 2023-05-01T03:39:05Z

Thank you for making this! Love dashing into the ghosts for extra height, the control and level design are great. I like how you used visuals in the level to explain things, like all of the fallen characters before you in the spikes, the key symbol on the door. Really good use of space.

Purrfect Pizza & Fish Delivery by Adrieldf 2023-05-01T03:16:03Z

Cute premise and graphics. It's a pretty chill experience, walking down the street throwin' pizzas and fish at cats. About the only thing I've noticed is that there's a bit of a delay for the music to loop. Not a massive problem, but something I noticed. Purrfect's best attribute is its visual style, I like cute pixel cats and that's exactly what I got.

30 Minutes Or Heck by radgegames 2023-05-13T18:51:51Z

First of all, great music! Second, wow the visual fidelity! I like the pixel art and the old-school monitor effect. Combined with the room structure, it made me feel I was playing something like Gauntlet or Smash TV. It took a minute to get the various idiosyncrasies, but I feel once you "get" it, there's something really fun in here.

Also, bonus points for the description. The moment I read "Toni Pepparhoney" I just **had** to play this.

No Junk Mail by MisterKeefe 2023-05-18T04:30:40Z

This is a really cool take on the tower defense genre. I love how it's a reverse lemmings, where you don't want them to hit the end goal and work out how the elaborate traps kill them. The graphics double down on that fun factor, great use of effects. Radical game!

Bomb Express by MoebiusMeow 2023-05-01T02:16:42Z

This is so cool conceptually. One of my favorite parts of the game is considering how I am going to move the house to the present, great use of physics here. The graphical polish is great, I love watching the debris from the bomb coat the level while sending entire buildings across the level. About the only thing I think is missing is some sound, (couldn't hear any on HTML5), but the music is more than adequate and gives the game an upbeat vibe. You've got a great entry here.

Pizza Slingshot by waffleworksgames 2023-05-01T03:54:40Z

Super clean style, intuitive mechanics and level design that ranges from brilliant to devious. To top it all off, the music absolutely slaps.

Toad Pizza Express by Nazorus 2023-05-01T02:35:39Z

"Yeah!" Love this entry. It's creative, it's fast-paced and it feels nice to play. Each level escalates in difficulty just right, has the best congratulations level I've seen so far and most of all, feels a little Pizza Tower inspired, especially in the visuals (so I automatically love it lol). Gamepad comes highly recommended, but I noticed I couldn't lick upward with the d-pad. Music's good, the sound design is creative and it is just a plain ol' fun platform game about delivering pizza.

In Defense of Pickles by Mavvy 2023-05-09T05:40:21Z

@Wouter52 Thanks for playing! :smile:

- Yeah, I was actually in the process of making a much harder difficulty mode, with a faster enemy increase curve and letting you fall off of the truck, but ran out of time. Based off of what I've read, that frankly should've been the normal mode, the difficulty curve is a little slow and the challenge could def be upped.

- I found an old heavy DVD player sitting around, so I took a microphone, hit record and started hitting / throwing things at it and mixed, matched and modified the results.

Deliverance by EpicGameFan 2023-05-09T02:56:12Z

I had a good time with Deliverance. It's got a cute story and nice visual polish, but the star of the show is the level design. On top of having a decent chunk of game in the timeframe, I never found any room too hard, nor too easy. There's a good balance and curve to the difficulty.

The level structure of Deliverance is really solid, especially with how nuanced it is. There was never a point I felt confused, thanks to the camera always pointing forward and showing a path I could take, and there was never a point I felt overly frustrated, thanks to the checkpoint at the start of each area. If I had to be picky about one thing, it's the hitboxes from the spikes, they felt just a tad too tall in a couple of areas where I feel I could've just dashed over them fine.

The music is really impressive, it sounds like something from the back half of a beloved NES cart. I was half expecting a boss by the end, but the ending was just as worth it. Got a chuckle out of me lol. This was one of my favorites this jam!

Super Buffed Delivery Service by josep93 2023-05-09T05:25:38Z

Super Buffed Delivery Service is absolutely genius! From launch to landing, just a freakin' funny game.

Frontier Express by Waysneighborgo2 2023-05-14T01:37:02Z

I came for chaos and Frontier Express does not disappoint. Everything feels super physical and the premise is absolutely hilarious. This is a wild entry, really dig its energy.

Cleopatra's Pizza by Maxnanas 2023-05-13T01:54:59Z

The music is a banger! I like the visual style of the game, lots of fun details in here. I will say, the one thing about the game I think needs a little more tender love and care, is the movement. You start blazin' fast and the way the camera moves didn't really give me a sense of control. I was eventually able to get my bearings and found there's a pretty fun and crazy world in here.

Packages by Tod Semple 2023-05-18T04:39:57Z

The art, combined with the VO really makes this for me. It is incredibly wholesome and I am absolutely here for it!

Shadow Thieves Delivery by projectcolorball 2023-05-12T03:16:38Z

Shadow Thieves' is drenched in style. I saw the cover art, thought it looked rad, downloaded the game and it did not disappoint. It's easy to pick up and play, challenging to get through, has a decent number of levels and looks gorgeous. I like how you played with the various background elements to make wild looking scenes in the later levels, I especially like the cutscenes.

oh and by the way,

 The music is *amazing.*

Lil' Red Witch by Bluepir 2023-05-18T04:15:49Z

Awww I love this! The lil red witch herself is very cute and the game reads like a nursery rhyme. On top of being absolutely adorable, I found the movement very interesting. Sometimes it's a little tricky to just turn around, but I think that's fitting to the character arc in the story, and the design doesn't punish you all that much for delays so there's some good nuance there. Fantastic entry!

Last Stand Delivery by Sheng Mai 2023-05-13T00:45:14Z

Last Stand Delivery's design is intuitive, but challenging. I came for the cool character designs and stayed for the endearing plot, but the real star here is the respectable number of levels and how no 2 levels feel overly similar or stale. One of my favorite puzzle games for LD53!

GobEx by WeirdBitGames 2023-05-16T00:44:24Z

GobEx is very cute! I love the endearing premise of keeping all of these gifts for yourself and sending nonsense items to everyone. The colorful style, combined with the little "yay" just smacked a smile on my face. There's a lot to like here, from the expressive, devious goblin friend to the fact you can send people teeth and watermelons. I love this!

Unwelcomed Delivery by BlueDandelion 2023-05-12T02:23:46Z

While there's not a whole lot to Unwelcomed Delivery, what's there is really good. The handling on the character controller is solid and you do some pretty fun stuff with it. (Love the additional special moves, they add some nice variety.) There's varied danger throughout each section, with some fun twists along the way. It never feels too overwhelming, but it's a little tricky to get through completely untouched, so it doesn't feel too easy either.

Visually reminiscent of MS-DOS era games, but with some really nice polish. Particles and other special effects are put to good use here. I also really like the contrasting color for the level tiles, nothing was confusing or difficult to read and the side characters were interesting and different every time.

The only things I could pick out that I'd like to see changed are the little old lady's text color, as it was a little hard to read against the white windows in the back, and add some background music.

There's a good sense of polish and player experience here. From the menu to the ending, Unwelcomed Delivery looks and plays good. Even outside of the context of this being your first LD entry, it is a solid and serviceable entry.

Happiness Delivery by apiffer 2023-05-01T02:47:31Z

The moment I saw the cover, I had to play this one. Such a charming game. I love the aesthetic and premise of Happiness Delivery, got some kind of Wind Waker style and it compliments the wholesome nature of the game super well.

Fishy Shipments by Eli Heinrichs 2023-05-14T01:00:30Z

Super chill game, I like vibing out to the music and enjoying a nice fishing game. Then I discovered you can yeet the crabs and that was a delightful and frankly hilarious surprise. This is rad, thanks for making the game!

DeliverY by StaGYL 2023-05-14T01:17:47Z

Aww, what a nice game! There's a nice progression of puzzles here, the last level was my favorite. Very clever mechanic of spelling words to either pass or restart the level. The undo stack is welcome and very appreciated, the music is great and to top it all off, has one of my favorite ending screens!

Logisticlaw by Cubellia 2023-05-09T03:14:28Z

I love the chaotic energy in frantically rummaging through boxes! Logisticlaw's best aspect would have to be its music, I vibed with the title screen for way too long, lol. It also looks absolutely gorgeous! Very rad!

LD55 — Summoning

Mathemagician by bentglasstube 2024-04-16T04:31:50Z

First of all, props for having your own tech! (I played the HTML5 export, it runs very smoothly.) Second, love the art.

I had a little trouble picking a number at first, but after things got rolling I was really into this! Like, add some enemies and this is basically up there with Number Munchers for me. I have a pretty low attention span, so the fact that I can be glued to this for a bit is a good sign!

Depths of Hell by pres2300 2024-04-15T03:31:48Z

I've used far worse pistols to get through hell. Most of my thoughts about the game are already addressed in your comment: The tougher enemy types in greater numbers really demand some heavier fire power, environments could offer some kind of limited protection from the more relentless hell spawn and some music would make the experience a little less lonely. What's there, however, is quite appreciable and I enjoyed this.

Home-O-Mancer by Happy 2024-04-17T01:49:21Z

I love the sprites in a 3D world style, super charming. The sheer amount of stuff you can summon is crazy!

Eye for Mischief by Vyolfers 2024-04-18T03:06:52Z

I'm a simple person, I see a game with cats, I gotta take a bite.

**This did not disappoint.** Super charming, love the concept, top-notch presentation and clean execution. It's cute, clever and wonderful and I absolutely love it!

Aliens vs. Undead by Firebelley 2024-04-15T03:09:31Z

Yo this is slick, very Robotron inspired. Hectic, wild and varied, really good sense of polish. Everything feels super responsive and despite being stuck to a single screen, it doesn't get overly repetitive.

Arsenal Toy by mitjmcc 2024-04-21T05:54:24Z

I love 3D stuff like this, brings me right back to the Playstation 1. I feel this might've been going for a bit of a Megaman in 3D thing. Kind of like legends, but distinct from it for sure. You nailed that whole toy aesthetic with the massive room and bright colors.

I gotta agree with others about the camera, something about it feels a little off about it. I'd suggest having the option to invert the vertical camera control. Another thing is I wish there was some kind of reaction animation and sound effect to getting struck by those enemies.

Those aren't damning criticisms at all, I absolutely love this game. Ya'll have a very competently put together third person shooter here, and in a very short amount of time. That's really impressive!

Claws and Conundrums by LocksmithArmy 2024-04-16T00:53:18Z

Great sense of atmosphere, made me think of the Echo Night games. The different stepping sounds are a nice touch!

Dungeon Skater by mackain 2024-04-16T23:46:21Z

This game has a fantastic sense of humor and creativity. Radical Wizard bonked on the ceiling, fell directly into the skull block and that absolutely cracked me up. Dungeon Skater freakin' rocks.

Summoning Wizard by LightBoat 2024-04-24T03:12:15Z

This is a quality compo entry. Everything looks nice and clean, there's a nice variety in monsters to summon and fight and there's little touches in just the right places.

Although the game can be overwhelming, it's a good sign that I tried several times and got slightly better with each battle. It didn't take long to understand what was going on, massive kudos for keeping things intuitive! There's a lot of different ways to balance this, like opening up the other lanes over time or having the portals on the other side of the lanes unlock as you upgrade. Being surrounded with only a couple of attacks made the early game feel super hard. Care and attention went into exactly the right places, and it makes this feel super complete, even being made within 48 hours!

inner vacant- by She Wrote 2024-04-18T02:32:51Z

I love "not here..." for how different it is. It uses the mouse wheel for a critical mechanic, it has a minimalist palette and pixel art, but a lush soundscape. You play as a presumably pretty weak and old character, but they're like "**excuse me, I will choose when I die, thank you.**" I like the first impression with the movement, and how the game scales the time it takes to get from character to character, it makes it feel gradual without actually being an eternity.

Resisting Summons by Noobman64 2024-04-15T23:33:51Z

**"The cult known as Ludum Dare"** was pretty great, haha! Even though you didn't have time to balance the difficulty, I admire your ambition to add a new minigame to each level, and have dialogue choices that change the level of challenge.

Djimm's Revenge by player04 2024-04-24T04:49:01Z

Really fluid animations, fun premise, and a tricky objective! Not a lot to the game, but what's there is well put together and at the end of any LD, that's pretty much all you can hope for. Nothing felt super clumsy during my playthrough, everything fits together without being undercooked or excessive. Big props for having a cutscene and a story. I don't blame Djimm, if I were resting for that long I'd probably do the same thing whoever woke me up too.

Steel Showdown by nicorm 2024-04-16T00:36:59Z

It's cool to see so many people come together to make something in 72 hours, especially something with this much character. It feels complete, looks great and runs really well (I played the HTML5 version on itch). A lot of love went into this; fun illustrative art, little references hidden in various screens and really clean character animation. You set out on a mission to make something awesome, and you delivered!

Summoning Shift by Quinnster 2024-04-16T23:35:13Z

Yo, I am down for the colorful occult hijinks! I like the evil sounding 8 bit drum 'n bass track, I like the scared humans, but I love the main character best. Multi-thousand year old grump massacres countless humans for profit.

INFINIWITCH by drainkid 2024-04-18T02:57:58Z

YOOOOO THIS IS MY JAM. I love this, the blasting, bashing and everything feels great, the sound design kicks ass and the fury of 50 witches in unison is a marvel to witness. Excellent game!

Summoner's Rifft by matid90 2024-04-15T23:49:24Z

OK, this is a pretty tight action experience. Wish there was just a bit more feedback when I got hurt, as well as when I was bashing stuff with my sword, the particles are appreciated but I wish I could knock back the tougher enemies. The power ups are really good, from their names (*Summoning for Dummies made me chuckle*) to their effectiveness (the projectile friend was a real help). Brutal at times, but pretty fun nonetheless.

Clumsy Witch by PekinaNebula48 2024-04-18T02:44:21Z

Fitting name for the game, I felt clumsy just shifting everything around and hoping for the best at first. I only realized there was a time limit when it was about to expire. I think some more nuanced hints would help make the game a little easier. I was amused by the text and art in the game, as well as the credits (Nebula's quote spoke to me on a spiritual level.)

Demon Delivery Center by Franco Farallo 2024-04-17T01:36:11Z

I love Demon Delivery Center's concept, where it's a sort of occult service job of taking in requests and frantically working out who needs what summon, but I wish there was just a tinge more nuance to it all. I wanna read about the cool demons and wizards! Otherwise, there's a real sense of atmosphere here, with the sound design and the really good character art.

Summoner Showdown by Caz Creates Games 2024-04-15T02:59:09Z

While simple, certainly not shallow. It does turn into attrition by the end, but man I love just dumping a whole army on my opponent! *I also just adore the character design.* Felt a bit lonely without sound, but hey you got the important gameplay and visual bits down.

Congratulations! You've got a solid first go for game jams!

Super Pal Summoner! by Meepster 2024-04-15T02:46:16Z

Really polished and really engaging. I have a pretty low attention span and I spent *a while* playing Super Pal Summoner. That's a pretty good sign!

Luminth by crushedsummers 2024-04-27T03:01:00Z

Visually and sonically gorgeous, and with one of the more original takes on the theme.

I want to live in Luminth's world.

Master of Elements by Gexo 2024-04-18T19:45:39Z

Plays cohesively, if a bit fast and a little stiff. At the very least, the world is pretty nuanced, so there was never any super frustrating jumps that felt impossible. It's kind of hard to tell where spikes are, I died to several instances of me noticing spikes at the last minute. This is otherwise an excellent experience!

**"Chaos is our Way"** - I feel this on a spiritual level.

Forecast by shizu 2024-04-15T03:46:52Z

Forecast slaps, I can tell a lot of love and soul went into this! The art, the music, the game feel, all on point and this just hit all of the right places for me. I think the one problem I had is that I wish that the window was even a little larger?

The Summoning of Dagan by alezayas 2024-04-27T00:54:32Z

Congrats on submitting your first jam game! I feel you're going for a survival horror thing, and the atmosphere absolutely hits it.

The player controls hit different, particularly with the way shooting works. Limiting your shooting to 2 directions, whether intentionally implemented or discovered on accident, made one of the later rooms with 2 enemies below you walking up, a stressful (in a good way) experience. I personally liked the choice of respawning enemies, makes you need to be more careful about doubling back and keeps you from just powering through the whole game missing everything. I like when a horror game makes combat a struggle, or a puzzle that needs to be solved rather than simply an advanced moving wall that you can mow down. It really feeds into the creepy atmosphere.

Yeah, death takes you back to the title screen, but the game is the perfect length for that sort of thing. It's not too short as to feel unsubstantial, but it certainly doesn't wear out its welcome either. The ending, is also sick and has probably the most striking image in the game next to the door to the house. You really played to your strengths here!

Slaymore by Joshua Miller-Pio 2024-04-16T23:18:09Z

I saw the cover, thought it was dope and the graphics delivered! Could've used some music, bit loose on the movement and a couple of stray attacks hit me out of nowhere, but dang I was **into** the rad visual style! Really strong start here!

The King's Summon by Rudolph-B 2024-04-16T00:13:58Z

Really nice hand drawn visuals. A good variety in games too, the one for crossing the river messed me up haha. Some sound may serve to make the experience a little less lonely, other than that I can't think of much to nit-pick. The King's Summon is a pretty charming experience overall.

Jelly Rush by joniv 2024-04-21T06:07:21Z

Jelly Rush is hella charming and creative. I love how these cute little jelly things overwhelm turrets and the ending is just adorable. Really well put together compo entry!

Demon Doodles by Storeyware 2024-04-16T04:05:54Z

Super charming! Adore the character designs and the whole doodling part is hilarious under a rush. knew I was gonna love this one the second I saw the cover.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Friends Adrift by Samuli 2024-10-23T03:35:29Z

I didn't expect to be playing a **new** PS1 game, let alone one made in 2024, let alone one made in a weekend! The moment you announced this, I was pumped!

It's definitely reminiscent of Crash Bandicoot, but an auto runner. Raccoon friend adventures around to collect cute little pals across a long flowerbed, a sort of temple level and inside of the PlayStation. Despite being sustained in these voids, I like that there's different environments with different sort of personalities. Flower zone being a little more lenient in the beginning so you can get a hold of the character's speed, while getting small tastes of what's to come (elevation and little bridges). Stage 2 is a bit faster and demanding, it's got bigger platforms as brief breaks from the tighter more precise platforming. Stage 3 is Friends Adrift's Slippery Climb: Very hard, very precise. I feel you kick off just a little too fast and there were a couple of jumps I completely misjudged. It's super cool how this level is constructed from photos of real hardware!

I love the aesthetic you went with, it made me think of Grandia and Parappa the Rapper with the flat 2D sprites in a 3D world. I love when games do this and this is no exception. Vitally, you kept the frame rate as consistent as possible, I didn't get any stutters or fluctuations.

Sounds are present and provide adequate feedback, wish there was music, but hey you got the most important bits down.

Anyway, huge kudos for making a game for the PlayStation in 72 hours for LudumDare, you absolute madlads!

RiboJam by Wispeh 2024-10-07T20:41:32Z

Props for making a rhythm game in 48 hours!

I like this entry! The track is well structured for a full stage, building up to a higher number of instruments and feeling balanced for speed and flow. I wish there was just a bit more feedback for hitting a note, missing a note and nailing a note close to perfectly. One more thing, I wish the notes were spaced out a little more, everything clumping together makes it a bit difficult to read in the heat of the music. Also, big fan of the visual style, love a good blob friend!

Tara by sbeif 2024-10-09T03:02:21Z

This is a game where I saw the cover, and just knew I was going to love this. It's very cute and has a couple of clever, pretty funny mechanics where you can kick yourself around and jump off of your head. I found Tara to be very fun.

Peculiar Pickings by Dis0rder 2024-10-08T00:37:54Z

There's a lot of stuff to play with in this weird little playground.

I love that I can rearrange my friend's face, I love how the little guys can... sprout?? I love this aggressive squelchy pad thing in the music! This has such a weird and out there vibe that I am absolutely here for.

If You Give A Mouse A Machinegun by Shaolin Dave 2024-10-10T02:10:06Z

Saw the title, *had* to take a bite.

Well, as it turns out, if you give a mouse a machine gun, they will murder everything that stands in their way. Yo, I found this to be a goofy good time? Like as a starting point, you have solid gold in my opinion. A side-scrolling shooter loosely based off of if you give a mouse a cookie in a framework of violence is open to some wild and hilarious stuff.

Tiny Creature Blaster by stuckne1 2024-10-11T02:46:47Z

I love little 3D things like this. Just you, a mechanic and a playground. I like this little pocket pond, evidentially effort went into making the space feel real and I appreciate it. Managed to find all of the little creatures, thought they were adorable up until they started eating my eyes. :gun: (OK they're still pretty cute lol)

Cheeese Watch by Yorsh 2024-10-07T22:55:05Z

As a lover of cheese, I deeply felt this. :cheese:

The action is really varied and all of these creatures after the precious cheese have a lot of personality. There's a lot of little touches to this entry, I can tell a lot of love went into this from the animation of the hand to the itch page design. :v:

Butter Time by TomPendergrass 2024-10-09T01:16:13Z

YO! This is a crazy amount of levels to have in a jam game, let alone so many varied ones! Charming cast too, I absolutely love the radical rye!

Purrfect Drift by Rewzu 2024-10-07T20:53:55Z

I was expecting a lot of cat games, this is the first one I played and it did not disappoint. I got to live out being in a cat video of a bunch of cats racing to their food bowl, and I loved every second of it! :cat:

Flea Patrol by Sviborg 2024-10-08T01:49:30Z

The hand drawn art is an immediate winner. It's so fun to dog-pile the dog (heh) with a billion flees.

Royal Critter Tossing by Life_Lich 2024-10-17T02:00:52Z

From the outset, I love the art. There's a really nice selection of colors, and the princesses and animals are very cute.

I found the game to be easy to pick up and get into. Big kudos for having such a well thought design, plenty of depth to be varied, but not overwhelming. I didn't feel like any encounter on my play through was impossible, despite the steady increase of difficulty. Had a good time with Royal Critter Tossing.

Tiny Creatures: A Nimkip Story by T C 2024-10-17T00:51:47Z

This is a fairly realized Pokemon battle system and digital pet game! Brought me back to watching my friends playing Pokemon Ruby and ironically a bit of Digimon.

I absolutely adore the aspect of taking care of cute battle-hardened monsters. Buying entire pizzas and toys for them before and after fighting some big bads is entertaining. The monster designs are cute, but they only show their true colors (or shapes I suppose) in the digital pet part! I'd love to see these cute little guys rip up my opponents. I'd love to hear a more full audio landscape too, as it feels a little lonely without sound.

You didn't have a lot of time, but you did have a lot of moving parts to put together and vitally, it works! I love how the separate parts of the game inform and interact with one another while keeping a comprehensive UI that doesn't get overly complicated or overwhelming. I have a lot of feelings about Tiny Creatures, and I enjoyed my time with it!

TinyCon by Briibot 2024-10-10T00:53:14Z

Cute premise, cute designs and the game feels feature complete. This nailed what I feel is a very important principle of making a game in a short time: **what's there is good and complete**. You got the important parts down, they're polished very well and the game leaves a really nice impression! Only thing I noted for improvement is sound.

PogoCombo by Mavvy 2024-10-12T13:01:23Z

Hi @ategon,

Thanks so much, go right ahead!

PogoCombo by Mavvy 2024-10-12T13:15:12Z

Hi @zamizmi,

The game is essentially infinite. Based off of comments by you and a few others, I've been thinking about having it so segments that are generated at a higher multiplier are more challenging.

Thanks very much for your input everyone. Really appreciate it!

Battle Pixie Mixie by Stalemeat 2024-10-12T03:42:50Z

Played with a controller from the get-got. Man the attacks feel nice and kinetic, the sprites have a good amount of animation and reaction to player attacks and movement.

I like how each boss introduces something new, and has distinct weaknesses that can give you an advantage if you know how to exploit them. Even with that, the bosses are still challenging enough that you can't be overly careless and button mash to victory.

I especially appreciate how mobile you are with dodging and flight.

Tiny Checkers by thyoi 2024-10-12T04:47:54Z

Yooo there's an absolute load to love in Tiny Checkers! My goodness!

I love all the cute pieces (snowman is my personal favorite). I love how easy it is to just pick up and play. I love that this game has a very respectable amount of content and every second of my play through was spent smiling. I love that mousing over letters in text boxes highlights them. I love the UI across the whole game. I love building a little army of cute friends to lead me to clutch victories!

Tiny Checkers is freakin' drowning in polish and the sheer charm and little details just grab my soul. There's so much depth to the game without being overwhelming or slow. I found myself in desperate times and somehow coming out on top with my little misfit buddy pieces, and it is an absolute blast! This is fan-freakin'-tastic and def my pick for best game in the compo. I absolutely love this, thank you so much for making this game!

Papercat Farms by BalimaarTheBassFish 2024-10-10T00:31:11Z

I love this charming papercraft farm world. It says something to Papercat's design that I stuck around for a while, normally when it comes to farming games, I grow impatient and run out of resources quickly but the game will outright tell you when it's a good idea to get stuff sold before harvesting and when you need to get harvesting soon. I eventually got a rhythm and got really into it. Like others, it took a minute for me to get that certain crops are seasonal, I figured that out by summer.

It's a very chilled out experience that I can get into.

Please Find Them by AdamLenglen 2024-10-11T00:49:40Z

The sound design and pixel art are top-tier.

The game's hints are just enough to get a good idea where *they* are, and hunting them down made me really appreciate the love put into the level design. I noted that I didn't run out of time once, even with penalties for getting it wrong in a couple of places on the 3rd level. In fact, I ironically nearly lost at the tutorial as it took a minute for me to understand to click on doors to navigate the room.

Again, I really like these levels, they look cozy and the sound design (especially grandma on the third level) made each level feel like a different physical space. I love level 2 the best, it's very cute.

Cardboard Kitty by DylanBrowne 2024-10-07T21:38:57Z

I love this, it's adorable and wholesome!

The cardboard world with the characters drawn on them is super charming and the lighting is gorgeous!

Fleaes by captainzo 2024-10-10T01:37:07Z

I think it's a great sign when despite the tutorial breaking, I'm still able to finish the game and have a relatively good understanding of what's happening. (Whoever made those icons, absolutely brilliant move to make the represent the hardship they're meant to help you out of.) This is the first game I've ever played that despite a big angry timer, it's actually very relaxed? I even had time to spare by the end!

Anyway, I like this entry! It's absorbing (I left my delivery for like, 10 minutes!) but isn't super demanding which I think works well in a jam setting. Also, best rain I've seen in the whole jam. It's a whole darn mood.

Hundreds & Thousands by willianfhs 2024-10-10T02:30:20Z

From the get-go, this hammer is plain 'ol satisfying to use and feels real physical. The artwork is super cute and just gushes with charisma. A lot of love went into the sound mix, I like the little voice clips and the OST is a banger.

Took a minute to realize that not all of the confetti is bad, so our company at one point was worth $300. Ah well, the FDA won't suspect a thing with such little evidence of meddling anyway. :doughnut:

Leafling builders by Kotolazer 2024-10-11T02:06:56Z

**the music is so good** what a nice chill autumn themed game.

I enjoyed my climb up this tree, meeting with my coworkers and various creatures. There's so many animated characters on this tree, it gives a feeling like it's a real living space. There were a couple of points where I hung out with inch worms and owls and just kinda took in the atmosphere.

Get Souped! by LChaves 2024-10-17T02:37:07Z

I GOT SOUPED.

The moment I threw an orange person into the soup, the game instantly became GOTY material. Smashing buildings, crushing the infected and throwing innocent bystanders into the soup is hectic and hilarious. Such a fun and goofy game, genuinely a great time!

Don't Touch My Sandwich by FrikiLight8 2024-10-09T02:24:31Z

I managed to send a lawn chair flying with a shotgun blast, trying to take down ants. This is a scenario I was not expecting tonight, and it absolutely made me howl in laughter. Super relatable premise, glad there's a game that let me take extreme action taken against ants that want my sandwich. 11/10, loved it.

Spirit Quest by AppreacherOne 2024-10-08T00:07:12Z

Congratulations on making it into LD and posting a game!

This is a solid start, wish there was sound as it's a little lonely (which you've addressed, looking forward to V2!) and I'd appreciate a more variable jump height (where you release the button before the apex of your jump to cancel it). Really those are the only things I can think of that you could improve. There's a lot to like here: a nice cohesive art style to the game, plenty of environments, solid control, a chunky number of levels and an interesting hook. Ya nailed it!

Mioritza by Evghenia 2024-10-09T01:45:00Z

yoooo the visuals are gorgeous, so expressive and so painterly! The soundscape and soundtrack have a very dreamy quality to them. Congrats!

Awakened from Stardust by FireFalls 2024-10-09T00:51:17Z

I'm really amused by the game's style.

The writing is funny, the action is varied and interesting, the music is perfect for this band of misfits high-octane adventure, which have a ton of personality thanks to the voice acting and individualized specialties. There's all of the ingredients for a great time here! There are a couple things I could note about the game, for one I wish could retry when my whole party is down, and I feel there needed to be a little more feedback for attacks on the enemy. Mad props for having a story that is as enticing as it is funny!

Michael's Grand Escape! by Malenia 2024-10-17T03:25:28Z

Short, sweet and nice to play. The perfect length for a game jam!

I really like the character art, really sells that whimsical premise.

Critter Gang by lastsecondgames 2024-10-11T01:30:45Z

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH the music touches my soooooooooooooul

Feels quite Cuphead adjacent in tone and style, I like the woodland creature mafia a lot, great personality in Critter Gang. I wish there was just a little more feedback when getting hit, not a full knockback thing of course, but perhaps some little visual blip when I get walloped and clawed. It's tough, but doesn't feel super unfair as each boss has a decent amount of lead time into their attacks. I like how they change it up every now and again, gave the characters a little extra personality.

The character designs are among my favorite in the jam!

Critter Capture by TheXRLorax 2024-10-09T01:59:05Z

First of all, a Pokemon Snap is a genius pick for the basis this theme, secondly I love the creature design! The Rolodex versions are also adorable, I want stickers of them. Props for making a solid 3D entry!

Gangsta Turt! by Nick Halstead 2024-10-09T02:40:27Z

The premise is so absurd I had to check it out, you are *indeed* a turtle that shoots spiders. Wish the gun had a little more feedback (muzzle flash, blast sound), I think the game could also benefit from putting those jewels to use, like buying a bigger gun to fight bigger swarms of spiders. Interesting choice to have to be still to aim and fire, makes it feel a bit different. I dig the vibe this puts out, A+ for creative use of your assets.

Love Bugz by Jake Pearce 2024-10-17T02:23:54Z

Aww I love the little bug designs, cute and charming! The timer makes this very intense, you gotta find love like **RIGHT NOW**! It was a little tricky getting a partner at first because I was spending a little long comprehending all of the stats.

The dating reminded me of like, those Sims games on the GBA? In a similar vein, you have to pick an interaction and depending on who it is, that interaction has potential to go well or not. It gives every single bug an individual personality that you have to take note of and with how much can be generated and to what, there's an impressive amount of depth in there. I wish there were more responses from the dates to the various topics and that's really the one big thing I noted about Love Bugz. Even beyond being made in 48 hours, I think what's there is very interesting, definitely one of the more original games I've seen on the site and one that stuck in my mind (revisited twice).

LD57 — Depths

Goodzilla [Sega Master System] by Samuli 2025-04-11T01:34:23Z

Man, this is the second game I've played this LD built for a genuine SEGA system. Crazy.

Nature's had enough of our industrial nonsense and wants to take her planet back. She sends forth her strongest warrior to menace humanity back into shape and show us whose in charge. Goodzilla's action has you obliterating a city and replacing it with all natural, idealistic objects of a pleasant day outside, which is very cute.

Less cute are these canons, they hurt and (at least in my emulator with V1.0) tank my framerate. Hardly a dent in the otherwise really complete and polished feeling game, I had a good time destroying the factories and liberating the planet.

Hyperspacedive by marudziik 2025-04-10T00:16:59Z

Hyperspacedive is just that, a dive through hyperspace. Complete with trippy colors, gigantic orbs to dodge and the sweet retro vibe of PICO-8.

Despite the colors going nuts with the effects, it's quite readable thanks to the outlines on the orbs and good use of contrasting colors in the HUD. The soundtrack is this booming rumble, my headcannon is that, that's the sound of whatever is firing the orbs.

Hyperspacedive by marudziik 2025-04-10T12:38:59Z

@marudziik Hey! No worries here, I was actually wondering why you opted out of ratings myself! You now have 1 more rating.

Go with the Floe by johnnysix 2025-04-11T05:04:00Z

Go with the Floe is a slightly more conventional take on Ecco the Dolphin. I say slightly because, it is very wild in its own ways. This penguin just **zooms** everywhere, slide into the water and just bolt right down, which you have to do in these orca infested waters because the moment they see you, they B-line right for ya.

I had many, many close calls with those orcas, and I loved each and every one. There's this very real thrill aspect to just going for it, picking up as many fish as you can and bolting upward for air while narrowly missing death on your way up.

I love the musical accompaniment for every action in the game. Very cool, very fun.

De Profundis by Dis0rder 2025-04-17T00:52:07Z

De-Profundis' world put up no resistance to any of my "I wonder if I can do this" thoughts. The answer was yes, every time. Finding secret shortcuts in my toilet, being intrigued by the local plant life, climbing a delicate ladder to get home in the dead of night, a lot of little things make this feel like a world and alive.

At first I thought the game was going to have a darker vibe based on the look, but after hearing the music I could confirm in my head "nah it's chill" and have a nice walk in the world. The outside music really spoke to me, got me in the mood to check out what I could find out there, something kinda forlorn and mysterious about it, I dig!

TrashDash by JPiolho 2025-04-25T01:45:04Z

TrashDash is a story about the lengths you'll go to to save your ice cream before it hits the floor. Strange sinkholes be damned, I want that triple scoop! It's a fast, frantic free fall, just mind the soda cans and virtual pets.

Little touches like Rulu being so happy you got an extra hit, devastated at getting hit, the faint wilhelm when you start the game and the fact I could play this with something a little more nuanced like a mouse, says to me that a lot of love went into the design, and it's great. One thing I noticed is when I got hit once, I was almost guaranteed to hit another thing in quick succession. Didn't feel like there was enough invincibility frames after getting hurt to get my bearings back. Hey, weaving through GameBoys and socks is not something I expected to do today, but I'm glad I did!

Into the Depths by pres2300 2025-04-09T00:46:39Z

Took me a couple of tries to escape my new pal at the bottom.

The sound is gold, just immediately smacked a smile on my face that never left. Whether out of desperation or a conscious artistic choice, grabbing your mic and makin' whatever noise you can beats dead silence any day.

Into the Depths has as many enemy types as power ups and does some fun things with them, from the age old throw-rock-at-dude-he-go-ow to a delicate ballet with a flying enemy and a pistol. It doesn't overstay its welcome, and in its short time on screen feels complete, the "yay" at the end absolutely knocked me out of my chair.

Hell R Us by CaptainDreamcast 2025-04-07T04:29:51Z

Hell R Us has a good sense of humor and a fun story that got chuckles out of me. I found dodging bullets and looking out for attack warnings decently engaging, attacking was nearly always stand next to boss and mash A otherwise, which being honest adds to the comedy for me. I love these denizens of hell just standing there taking a barrage of slashes from this guy who just stepped in.

I had a good time with your game, and mad props for releasing a game for the Dreamcast. Multi-platform anything in 48 hours sounds like a kind of hell in itself, but you made it through and back. :v:

A Memory of Her by ConradoClark 2025-04-25T02:29:01Z

A Memory of Her is one of the freshest takes on the memory matching game I've seen. An action puzzle roguelike game about recalling events and boosting your memory matching action stats. It feels like you prioritized balance in how the game escalated difficulty, and it pays off. It's easy to disengage from something that's too easy or be filtered by something that's too hard, didn't come close to either and felt engaged to the end.

DeepFrame 9 by JavaSaurus 2025-04-07T02:45:25Z

Big explosions and big thumpin' music? My favorite flavor! Pretty fun to fling around and smash stuff, real visceral.

My best score was 850, that time limit is tight and it took me a minute to get the hang of the game. Generally, the further up you are, the harder you're gonna hit what's below.

Dyamid by leorean 2025-04-09T01:18:34Z

Dyamid sent my head into dimensions I didn't even think were possible. It seems inspired by Pico-8, with its tile-based mechanics and tiny sprite aesthetic. The part that absolutely steals the show, is that crystal. Bends reality itself, shifting rooms to be infinitely long and tall. Makes the Dyamid interesting to navigate for sure.

Part one-room platformer, part side-scrolling platformer, it really did marry the best of both worlds. To tie it all together: vibrant characters, brightly color-coded obstacles, a pretty big game world and upbeat electronic music. Had a real good time with this one!

Depth Rhythm by CaptAndrey 2025-04-10T01:12:09Z

One of the more original rhythm games I've played for sure. I like the touch of the size of the hole corresponding to the length of the drop.

Props for having precise timing down, keeping things predictable and consistently modal (like, I thought I had to hold down the mouse button at first, turns out you click to pick up and click again to let go, really appreciated that level of control).

Bagatelle by Aune 2025-04-08T02:01:33Z

Bagatelle is real kinetic feeling, despite their feelings about being flung around and crashing into walls and really painful looking blocks. I'm of the opinion that physics games should be fun to play *with*, and you absolutely hit it where it counts.

It's bright, colorful and pleasant to the senses, while the vibe is contrasted in a fun way with the main character's expressions as you aim. I encountered a grand total of 1 bug where I slipped through the very last gate. Nothin' bad, just kind of funny. The time attack is a pretty fun addition too.

Pushing Forward by KeithSwanger 2025-04-17T02:09:33Z

Pushing Forward is a hero management game by way of precise platforming. I really like the imagination in this, the doc rebuilding the hero's body strength from the inside, that involves pushing color-coded buttons that boost a certain strength. That must be what that whole "find the power within" thing is about.

I think more convoluted paths with changing complications on the way would've made the platforming part a little more interesting. There were points where I just kind of sat there and waited the hero to do their thing, made my rounds to refill the stats, repeat until end. I will say, you nailed the nuance of the jump, it's slow enough that I could confidently do precise jumps, but not sluggish enough so as to feel overly floaty. There's a delicate balance in there and you definitely got it.

I have no idea if this was the only sound that made it into the game, or if sound wasn't working for me, but the only thing I could hear were walking sounds. Granted, those are important and really adds something to the overall feel of being in a body. I just want to be sure I got the whole library of audio you intended / had time for. Some music and additional sounds would definitely finish the job for establishing a mood for the game.

I took a critical direction with my thoughts, but I enjoyed my time here. There's potential to establish real atmosphere here and all kinds of directions you can take Pushing Forward.

I couldn't find anywhere else to note this, but the doc is adorable. The little death animation is like I tripped and it got an "aww" out of me.

FEARFISHING by tive 2025-04-07T03:40:53Z

Ooooh I like a good playable nightmare. Hunting for food while being hunted yourself, well under sea level and very vulnerable. The setting is excellent, especially with *that thing* roaming around. I love this sound design, keeps the mood thick and remains informative for when I'm about to meet my new friend. I dig!

Explodicaves by ThatFirey 2025-04-11T01:10:11Z

Explodicaves comes fully loaded with personality from the start, manic mine carts, flyin' fireball flingers and wall-walkin' wackos are ready to wreck your little gold dig. Thankfully, you've got the one thing every great expedition needs: bombs. Not just your classic throw 'n forget, but delayed bombs and the quite unique chicken bomb.

Explosions do more than dish out damage, they're a functional way to propel yourself in any direction. Like any rocket jump, it's a little tricky to nail, but once you get a general feel for the blast, you're pulling all kinds of stunts. From a good speed boost to nimble escape, it's pretty sick what's pulled off here.

Some good tunes too! Lo-fi and retro, just a vibrant as the rest of the scenes.

DUCKDEPF by Jona Scheidig 2025-04-10T00:56:18Z

I looked at Duckdepf's sad expression and thought "I gotta help this little guy or I won't be able to sleep tonight." I didn't anyway, too busy perfecting a dive, avoiding the percussive "bonk" of death. Dog, it feels *so cool* to go for it and dodge everything that ended up in this well. I think it might be cursed, or perhaps owned by someone with a sick sense of decor.

This song is bangin' and ayyyye I know that orchestra hit anywhere, heard it a bunch rollerblading in Tokyo-To!

Funnel Knight by Kaspjej 2025-04-10T01:57:13Z

Funnel Knight is an NES era game come to life in a gorgeous illustrated style. Complete with tasteful foreground parallax, lively animation and a metal rendition of the overworld music for the underworld.

If there's one thing I could point out, it would be I will happily exchange my *kingdom* for a checkpoint. It does feel very in the vein of those classic NES games to start you from there and it's not like, a super long game, but one death closer to the end just physically hurt my soul.

That said, it does have that "I get slightly further every time" thing that makes a challenging game like this good. I never feel the game is cheap, I just wasn't ready for that jump, or I need to sacrifice a hit or 2 to work out how this enemy behaves. I was also reminded of DOS with the colorful keys and doors, how Keen of you.

I've got a lot of feelings towards Funnel Knight, its original look sticks in the mind and it's packed with personality from the main character's various actions, to the sun's face to the "you died :(". Little gem of a jam entry.

Deep Dreamers by Hinamarina 2025-04-23T03:35:59Z

Deep Dreamers claims to be kinda cozy, but is in fact, aggressively cozy, angrily cute and violently nice. I half expected the fire enemies to bake cookies with me. What a charming adventure!

It says a lot that I actively chose not to fight enemies, I'm impatient and mash fire at everything that even looks at me funny. Here however, I loved playing this pacifist style? The attack feels on the slow side and doesn't have a long range, but I don't feel that deters anything. In fact, I felt that the way the attack works and the general vibe of the game really encouraged living and letting live.

The gentle music, vibrant colors and CRT filter brought me back to listening to music playing Commander Keen. Warm and full of heart. Def a highlight of what I've played for LD

A Sinking Feeling by mortusnegati 2025-04-09T00:26:10Z

Playin' your Linux native build.

A Sinking Feeling put me in a very false sense of security, I thought this was going to be a straight-forward clicker style game. Turns out, it's a descent into madness and I am absolutely here for it!

Nails a rare balance between humor and mood for me!

Lotus Well by Aly Name 2025-04-25T02:37:12Z

I keep coming back to Lotus Well. There's something here that really sticks in the mind. Maybe it's the sincere story, maybe its how every level keeps it fresh with a new aesthetic of not only visuals, but play to match those visuals, maybe it's the writing, maybe it's the sheer density of mechanics. More likely, it's all of these things. A lot of heart went into this and it shows. I will confess that I did get filtered a couple of times with how hard the puzzles are, but again, I keep coming back. I really like what you've made, it's sweet and captivating to play.

Meanepth by rensun 2025-04-09T00:06:23Z

Meanepth's atmosphere is thick and apologetically unsettling. Throwing you right into the ocean to contemplate a set of events from drinking problems to loss of loved ones. There's a whole spectrum of emotions here and thick visual style, especially in that lighting.

I like a game that's got the scary stuff, but takes the time to establish a scene and buy me dinner before unleashing their true colors and that's pretty bold to pull off in a 72hr time frame. I think it hits the marks in the right places, stirring up that something's wrong and spilling the beans in context.

Short version, I had a good time with your atmospheric story.

Home is where hell is by Anderson Job Loeffler 2025-04-08T02:49:12Z

Dang, The Devil's got an unbelievable strut. Goin' home after a long day at work, right into the sewer and then directly to hell.

I know there's not a lot to the game at the moment, but what's there is pristine. Again, the swagger in the walk, the colors, the entire city on the surface. This is the prettiest sewer level in history!

Down climber (Pico-8) by Prunus Padis 2025-04-08T03:29:39Z

Turning fall damage into a game in and of itself was not something I was expecting, especially not from a PICO-8 game. I felt compelled to see through to the end, minding my distance to find what waits for me at the bottom. How Down Climber plays really reinforces its aesthetic, dark and dangerous.

Reminds me of a DOS game; Crystal Caves. A game that in a similar vein that kills you a lot, but with a very different kind of play.

Miner by basekeet 2025-04-08T02:19:13Z

It took a couple of tries for me to figure out how the cards work in Miner. After that, things start to get interesting. I was excavating the earth and with crystal fireball powers and keeping the clock in check.

There's a lot of potential decks. If there's one nit I could pick, it would be that I'd like to see how each card's effect is changing the various elements like the time and the effectiveness of my pick axe beyond the cards being activated with the magic flame.

Props for having full-drawn scenes for the story, really charming.

DeepJamGameCan'tThinkOfAName by kali 2025-04-08T03:06:10Z

Hey, it's your first go! Congrats on submitting something, also... **wow?!** What's there is *great*.

The music is just \*chef's kiss\*. *Perfecto.*

That slide jump is the stuff of dreams, I'm tellin' you! Feels awesome to do.

You got a decent variety of weapons, my one qualm is that the firing arc doesn't always seem to be consistent, but then again the focus was clearly on player movement and building something playable.

While it might just be an engine test, it is one rad as hell engine test. Thanks for building a playground for all of this cool movement tech!

GRAFFITI TOWER by VertSight 2025-04-07T03:21:46Z

The dedication to the hate on this tower, to the point of climbing to the top of it, smashing through every floor and causing such a ruckus that they have to call in helicopters and ninjas is pretty darn admirable. Something made this personal to the main character to the point where they smash their face into the floor.

Anyway, pretty sick descending game, only nit I can really pick is some more beefy sound effects would complete this for me. My highest combo was around 49 before gettin' juggled to presumably the slammer. Had a good time with Graffiti Tower.

LD59 — Signal

Misplaced by manabreak 2026-04-23T02:21:24Z

I went through all that trouble to end up in limbo. Didn't mind the journey at all, we were pure of heart (I think) lit the way (to nowhere) and learned... something.

OK, so I like the main character a lot. I walked off the right edge of the screen by the box (could be secrets), and they asked "why did you do that?" Stuff like that is hilarious and I love it. The part where they're reading the prophecy with the crystals "blah blah blah", the entire ending... and the intro, sure it was funny too. There's not a moment of down time in the writing, and it's by far my favorite part of the game.

The moment they said "thank goodness there weren't spikes down here" I thought "there's gonna be spikes like... not 12 steps away huh?" and sure enough, in sync "I knew it." Some of the platforming is real tricky, not just because some of it is done in the dark, but the "reverse cogs" REALLY tripped me up.

To answer the question at the end of the game, it got a chuckle, perhaps even a full laugh or as many as 2. (In all seriousness, I found this game hilarious and brimming with personality from front to back. Really dug it!)

TRAPTOMB by fullmontis 2026-04-21T00:23:22Z

Diabolical is the perfect adjective for the game. Every single jump feels so calculated, you're thinking on and off your feet and if you're thinking too long, you're dead. It is very treacherous.

TRAP TOMB features a tomb raider, mid-escape sequence and fast as eff. I found fun in accidentally pulling off speedrun tricks and working out the jump and dash distances on the fly. There's a lot of trial and error but also no long death animations and no super long levels, just instant action. That's really in the game's favor and a big part of why I saw it through to the end.

The last level in particular felt very precise, and that's about the point where I wish that things were less slippery. That said, this is my favorite use of the theme I've seen so far. Attaching a signal to your jump that trips traps and platforms sure gives it a unique feel. I found it all really clever and tightly designed.

I'm a sucker for a game with a cute girl, and I can't just leave without commenting on how nice the art is. Everything is a nice blue to it, MC pops with her red hair, it was clear to tell what would become a platform and what was a signal crystal thing.

Bottom line: I dig this! I like the art and the challenge, just wish it were a little less slippery at times.

PING by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2026-05-08T00:59:17Z

Screenshot from 2026-05-07 17-45-15.png

I finished! Not even going to pretend I did well my first run, but I don't find Ping frustrating or finicky. I read the description on itch after playing, and this part in particular resonated the most with my feelings on the game: "It's basically billiards but weird." Yeah, you nailed it!

The echolocation and "billiard ball movement" mechanics are super unique. There's a real nuance in the aiming and power, good balance of control/convenience. You essentially start every level blind to even the walls, bumping into them even revealing a bit of your immediate surroundings, but with the push of a button you can see a much wider area of surroundings as you're moving. I appreciated the shadows to inform you of something potentially dangerous, I also appreciate that echolocation can be used to find those deadly crystals ahead of time.

There's some real TLC in the visual polish. Stuff like the echolocation's animation, the number of angles the bat is drawn at, the arrow, the shadow under you. I never felt overwhelmed with the amount of information and appreciate that all of it was essentially "in-universe" as opposed to drawn as gauges or numbers on screen. Also, just looks plain 'ol great altogether.

The audio really ties the feeling of "in a cave" together, there's even a little bit of reverb applied to the song and *massive* reverb on the echolocation. Also, just have to point out the music, it has this relaxed, really positive feeling I like a lot. I love the little "sparkly jumps" towards the song's loop, so cute. I was expecting something more dark being put in a cave, the direction is a pleasant surprise. Love it.

tl;dr edition: I really like this. :purple_heart:

P.S. "Cave Story rulez!" - Hell yeah, love Cave Story.

Terminal Transmitter 6000 by Dis0rder 2026-04-26T05:05:34Z

Terminal Transmitter 6000 is a very interesting study of frequency and amplitude. You have what feels like infinite adjustment of the various numbers in the center of the screen. I'm not sure what said numbers meant, so I played it by ear (no seriously, play this by ear its interesting).

I managed to get to a point where the big number in the top right was ascending by a lot, and the pitch of the sound was increasing. I had a feeling we were approaching critical mass when the number was approaching the six digits... and I managed to either have a successful, if violent transmission or I've discovered the limits of what the 6000 is capable of.

This is like, the exact fun I get from messing with cool synths. Initially obtuse, but with some finagling you find some cool sounds in there.

Sound Signals by pres2300 2026-04-20T21:32:01Z

*"My main goal of this jam was to focus on audio"*

Mission accomplished. Solid atmosphere for each level, different too. Loved the take on the backrooms with the overwhelming hum (I encountered "them" too and that was fun), third area being dead silent made it real unnerving. The use of positional audio is really nice here, and the song at the end is nice too!

Player walking sound also very appreciated, reminded me of Commander Keen.

The Union by GeraldFIngBurke 2026-04-28T20:03:46Z

Like several other folks, I fell off the tutorial, just started going for it and trying stuff and let me tell you, the really good theming and how the story is presented carries The Union.

I like the 2 ongoing stories, the immediate story of you and your crew swaying cities, dodging surveillance and undermining P2042 and influencing folks to join your cause. There's an appreciable number of systems in place that made me cautious about keeping my crew safe and taking back the US. Both are not always possible, so I tend to favor keeping recruits so we can recover more of the country elsewhere and influence our way back in when we can.

Then there's the global story over the radio, reading about this world genuinely made me feel for the humanity around me. From ads for the absurd products in these hard times to a point where P2042 took California (insert the Propellerheads track here) and Silicon Valley folded like a lawn chair in a tornado. There's a good sense of humor in the writing, too.

tl;dr edition: I felt really invested in my crew and the world we occupy.

It takes a lot to get me to read what's going on in a game and The Union really did it for me. Maybe its the direction of current events or maybe its that I like me a good conspiracy story. Either way, really ambitious undertaking in a jam time frame.

Alien Registry by ipomelo 2026-04-28T01:19:16Z

Papers please type beat with a much brighter visual and tonal personality. The galactic employment agency sees everyone from disgruntled folks looking to start over to former convicted (and possibly escaped) criminals (hopefully) looking for a second chance. I like the space-future everything is chrome interface, with the holographic tablet, the transparency on that is a nice touch. Lotsa personality in here with the character designs and writing, dug it.

SIFT.exe by NinjaCatz 2026-04-23T00:31:42Z

Played this at 3 AM (couldn't sleep) for the most authentic experience.

There's a nice little loop in here. I would've liked more furniture to cozy up the base in the middle of nowhere, but I wouldn't fault it for lack of something to work to. SIFT makes me think of the more quiet moments from Voices of the Void, I half expected to do some minor maintenance or keep up with sleep, but understandably the scope is focused more on the processing and I really like it.

I like the different decrypting, it starts deceptively easy (simply grab the message once you match the signal) and becomes quite complex by the end (flip the entire alphabet via math). I took notes, I learned encryption that I had never seen before, I busted out the *desk calculator*. I felt like I was genuinely about to crack some top secret communications and learn the deepest secrets of the world.

After this, I'll be sending my important encrypted messages in fishscript moving forward.

Bol Finder by Maakole 2026-04-21T04:47:29Z

From the art, I can tell something ambitious was planned but perhaps fell-through. Regardless, looks gorgeous. Love the main character, the monster, the BOLs. 2D characters in a 3D world brings me right back to my Playstation and early 00s computer games.

If I could suggest anything, maybe try some ascending/descending controls in flight. I found the control on the ground felt a little strange, but pretty natural in the air.

Pied Typer by No Grapes Games 2026-04-23T01:17:54Z

Pied Typer is a Typing of the Dead type beat where you type solfège to fight off killer rats. It's got No Grape's signature charming art direction and some welcome and very real old-school Newgrounds vibes.

I realized that there was a camera where you can look around just in time to see a few new pals right next to me in need of a good dooting into the stratosphere. Good ending is very cute. Dug it.

Roadkill junction by BadPiggy 2026-04-20T20:05:33Z

Man, working after the world's ended/is in the process of ending is a rough endeavor, but gotta secure that bread somehow.

This particular flavor of rock music brought me right back to my beloved PS1 and that feeling is amplified with 2D sprites in a 3D world, giving that pop-up book/diorama look I adore.

There's a much appreciated jump feature which is handy for dodging oncoming cars and escaping mosh pits. Thanks to having a shadow under the character, judging where you're going to land is pretty easy. I believe I encountered a bug in the tutorial, there's some invisible barrier in the crosswalk I can just kinda jump over. Nothing super broken, just something I noted in my time directing traffic into the horde.

Roadkill Junction is here for a good time, flipping around and makin' road pizza is def up there.

Love Caps by Wouter52 2026-04-21T13:38:34Z

Love Caps is a cute game about cute fungi discovering each other by way of the mushroom network (mushrooms are rad). I love the world here, its big and full of all kinds of mushrooms, over 3000 and approaching the ballpark of 4000 according to the game's description, it's a nice feature to head underground and sort out the signal to noise on the surface.

Just found everything overall chill and pleasant, I can get down to that. :purple_heart:

On a side-quest, I checked out your website and the Windows 7 era design brought glee to my soul (love the cats section btw great stuff). Glad to see someone out there is keepin' the dream alive.

Numbus Crossing by Mavvy 2026-04-20T19:14:46Z

@pres2300 It 100% is! I was in a call with my testing crew, "HOOT WIRELESS" is like a vocal tick with us, and with the whole bird theme I *had* to add it to the game lol.

Numbus Crossing by Mavvy 2026-04-21T13:45:37Z

@wouter52 hey thanks for checking out my game! (just checked out yours actually heh)

The dab feature was one of many "just for fun" parts that ended up in the game. You can blame my testers (and me as well).

I HATE PRINTERS by Ron88 2026-04-24T16:17:30Z

Oh I absolutely hate printers too and this game has a sentiment that I can't help but find really funny, even if it can get a bit frustrating.

Figured out the fruit puzzle first and the line puzzle, while tricky, wasn't all that hard when you understand what you're looking for. Then there's that third puzzle on the side of the printer, genuinely no idea what it wants me to do. Yes, I read the hint and I think I have either completely misunderstood it or I'm really overthinking all of this.

Don't take that all the wrong way though, there's stuff I enjoy about this game. The laid back music contrasted with printer being a printer is fun, and the vignette of getting a 00's computer and a printer to talk to each other in this hand-made in paint look is a personal favorite vibe. Definitely some "been there" levels of relatable and even despite not even finishing the game, I respect it a lot. You set out to capture a vibe from a time, and you nailed it.

Radio Nation by pro4 2026-05-08T05:25:12Z

It took me a couple of plays to really "get" Radio Nation. I read absolutely nothing before playing except for the controls, little did I know what was on the other side of the unassuming Godot loading screen was a puzzle game with a *vicious* hook. Seriously, I played this for a couple of hours, like, this game while it is going is super fun. It's just a shame it kinda stops when your buildings are out. I wish I could remove em to make room or just move 'em to get better signal.

I enjoy Radio Nation, conceptually its very easy to hop into and actually playing and expanding outward is really fun.

Extremely Loud Frog Toy by peppersalt07 2026-04-21T15:00:44Z

It is what it says on the tin, a stretchy frog that screams. No combat, no violence, heck barely any conflict at all and yet it's so entertaining. There's a very fundamental form of play here that's just really good, I'm as amused by this as the main character appears to be.

I like how you list the resources you used on the itch page, that's just really cool.

Five Nights With Kitty by DontGiveUpBoy 2026-05-07T16:01:40Z

I can't resist games with cats, had to check it out when I saw the MS-Paint art. The premise is adorable, sending "feed me" over to visitors from the stars until they either decide they've had enough and it's time to reeducate Kitty, (which I strongly suspect consists of the alien's comical antics trying to herd cats and Kitty generally being a little menace) or give up and hand over the good stuff right at my window. :fish:

I saw all 5 nights, I saw all 5 meals and I saw this is your first LD. In my books, you got a pretty strong start. You kept the play pretty simple and approachable, even with a decent number of moving parts. I see some instructions were added later for "taking cover", well appreciated on my playthrough. Another well appreciated feature was the text box, I'm glad the aliens give fair warning to me before coming over to my window.

Dug it.

I have no WiFi and I must game by CameronL 2026-04-21T01:28:49Z

More games need a dedicated swear button. There's a fun chaos to there's no Wifi, with Sweetie yelling at everyone, breaking windows, meemaw... meemaw please move. Gnomes. GNOMES!!!

Genuinely funny, from start to game over. Bustin' down doors in search of the one spot that the wifi has decided to situate at while the world around me fights back in hilarious ways. Evident the team had fun with the VO, just adds to the fun.
