Hello! The game looks super cute, but I don't seem to be able to interact with any items? Not sure whats going on but looks great!
very cute concept and visuals! i found the controls a bit tricky and couldn't quite make a potion, but with a tutorial i think it'd be fab!! overall very fun :3
NichiiExE, you can use "F" to interact with everything!
As the 2d artist, I truly appreciate this <3
@nichiiexe Thanks for the feedback! We added commands on the description!
looks really nice, I couldn't get the ingredients in time, it was really tough! especially with all the red/green distraction crystals. I think maybe the timer should be increased, but maybe that was the 10 sec part? Overall I liked the feel of it, music, sounds and graphics.
Really nice concept but got overwhelmed with orders quite quickly
Doesn't run on Wine. Please consider making a Linux/Web export
@alaah We currently don't have a proper way to test our game on Linux!
Love the art and aesthetics to the game! Has a very 3D Potioncraft feel to it! But the difficulty definitely spiked right at the beginning, trying to juggle both customers and these crystals that affect my movements! Ah also, very ambitious to do a crossover of another LDJam title  Great work anyways!
@wildmusketeer Thanks! We're trying to balance the game and remove some bugs with small patches!
I really don't enjoy the controls here - F is a terrible choice for an interaction button; it means I have to take one of my fingertips off WASD in order to operate anything, or else cram my thumb up next to them. (My own game uses Space as an action button.)
I also don't appreciate that the game claims to support gamepad controls but I can't break curses without hitting keyboard buttons. I didn't like the keyboard controls so I tried a gamepad instead, only to be met with frustration the as well.
That said, I do like the music and aesthetic, so I'm looking forward to seeing you fix the controls so that it's playable without discomfort.
@ryusui did you change the showed buttons style in the settings?
Needs no saying, but amazing art! The game is very well-polished as well :3
@federico-giorgi I didn't realize that option was there, whoops!
@ryusui we found a bug on our input manager tho! We'll publish a fix asap!
Lovely art style and I like the audio of it, controls were a bit rough and I couldn't figure out the potions yet, but I can definitely see this eventually grow in a full fledged game with a little tutorial etc. Overall, very enjoyable
Found a bit of difficulty learning the game, memorizing the potions, fulfilling request... but that's probably just me not being good at it. Overall I think this was a good entry. The 2D art against the 3D is usually a positive, but in the case, the shader on the models and the flat colors on the characters were a bit at odds. Some of the sound effects were a bit imbalanced (Hylee was a little loud compared to most of it), and sometimes my controls reversed, or I wasn't able to put ingredients into a pot, and I didn't really see any reason why that happened (I might have missed something). Still, you got a lot done in the time frame and as far as I can tell, it works well!
It looks very nice but it was very difficult with all the different potions and not enought time (+ the gems). So the game balancing might need a little bit more time^^ or I am just a noob
Nice theme and great job supporting so many different types of inputs. Love the poison effect and wavy shader you used as well as the general aesthetic of the whole project. Charming music too!
I liked the animations and the Idea! Congratz! :).
@Eugenik Thank you so much!!
OMG this game has such a cool graphics, especially the menu + 2d parts stole my heart :D Kudos to the artists! The music was also a fun one and really fitting too. Gameplay was quite challenging but satysfying, however, it was a bit confusing for me to learn how to play exactly, it could be useful to add an interactive part of the tutorial or something. Btw I loved the idea of having the controls inverted, really cool mechanics xD Thank you for that experience and keep up the good work!
a mood comes up with time, but not a good one for me sorry. I have recorded everything with F and tried to mix the potions, but that one still makes a rhythm game where you have to press appropriate buttons when preparing and then also when collecting crystals. In addition, so many customers. Have not managed to manage time. A slower tutorial would be very beneficial. The graphics are super cute. The music is also good, but is annoying with time because always the same sequence of sounds. all in all well done, but edges that need to be honed.
The graphics were adorable, the story was compelling, the music was top notch.
But... the mechanics were far too much for me.
I managed to make a single potion before stopping (I think 3 people had left).
There are many tiny things that could have made many of the overwhelm easier to handle, but as it stands, that was so complicated. x.x
This was an extremely ambitious game and you successfully delivered so many aspects to it and that makes it really cool! But, with the confines of 10 seconds, doing everything became instantly too rushed. Each aspect was enough on its own to create a game-jam level of challenge.
I feel like I could have managed if the recipe appeared over the persons head after I talked to them, with the popup crystals, but not the minigames at the cauldron. With all the mini spams/type-ups it went from "what a wonderful world" to "I am overwhelmed and this stopped being enjoyable, I'm just confused". Which is a shame because the rest is soooooooooooo good.
I'd really like to see this made with a version for mortals because I really want to get to enjoy all that it has to offer (that I'm able to handle).
Please feel free to send me a shout if you develop it further. =)
Very fun game! A bit too challenging for me - I don't think I helped a single customer, haha, but I loved being in this world! Not sure what I was doing wrong - I would drop the 3 ingredients into a cauldron, and perform the little button presses, but I don't thing I ever got anything 'out'. The 10s curse is such a good idea - and well implemented. It adds a little flavor, without being overbearing, and fits the world perfectly! The character design is so delightful and well rendered - and the spells ingredients so unique! Even though I knew I couldn't win, I was happy I got to sit and read through the whole spellbook. Also - totally normal for a jam game, but rapidly pressing 'q' or what-have you can be a little rough on my carpal tunnel. But pressing the different keys in order is fun and challenging! The 2d was was so cute and fun - I assume the 3d art was an asset pack? If not, that was a jaw-dropping amount of work! All in all - great job. I really loved your art, polish, and worldbuilding. A very charming entry!
@ugly-robot We used assets just for particles! Every 3D model and 2D element is custom made!
I love the combination of music and animation. It's so cooooool! But I get a little bit confused about how to make a poision.
@atwooooooood you have to read the book (with F) and see the ingredients that you need for every potion
@federico-giorgi That is astonishing! I cannot believe it - your workflow must impeccable be to produce such alluring models with such speed - that's a highly impressive display of skill. Any tips for someone who has a bit of modeling experience (blender), but would take 10x as long to produce a set of assets like that? (No worries if you are too busy to reply)
The art and animation is so adorable! It is honesty super duper cute and I do love me a witch theme hehe :) The music is really fun (I think it does not loop though?) and making the potions was very fun even though I was absolutely horrible at it
Great game and art! I love the different effects the crystal apply, the inverted controls is the most trippy lol.
Great Style, but how did i call the menu?
Graphics looks polished and crystals mechanics adds some twists to the gameplay. Really nice entry!
Really very nice and cute! Graphics is cool!!!
This game is really cute, I'm a real sucker for 2D sprites in a 3D world and this is no exception. The star of the show is the character design, the customers as well as the main character look great. The soundtrack compliments the frantic gameplay nicely. It is all around very charming and I'd love to see more if you decide to continue work on this!
That was a very cute game to play ! I struggled a bit to understand the controls but I figured it out eventually and made some potions :D
I didn't really understand what the curses were doing though, aside from the one inverting the controls.
It would be nice to be able to go to the main menu from the game (I tried Esc but it didn't work, maybe I missed something?) and to maybe craft a potion in the tutorial because it is quite a stress in the actual game haha
But really well done in the time given, very lovely visuals and sounds
Hi there!
First I want to point out that the looks of the game is just awesome. It's kinda `Don't starve` style everywhere and I would recommend to be even more consistent with that - I think ingredients might be sprites as well, not only characters. Also probably camera might be less perspective to avoid such big impact to sprites.
However I think the biggest problem of the entry is a learning curve, it doesn't exists. From the very beginning you have to brew complicated potions and have overcrowded queue and it's not even enough - the game throws additional challenges & debufs to you. It's too much for the player, who just turned it on and in my opinion causes more struggle, than fun.
But you probably already aware about it and I hope you the best with this and following games!
I love the art, all the characters look great! It didn't feel like there was enough time to check the potion book and make the potion in time, maybe the customers should wait longer in the beginning and start leaving quicker as the game goes on.
Impressive work! Agree with a lot of the comments about the initial learning/difficulty curve. One minor quality of life thing would be a way to pause and go back to the main menu or to restart :)
Thanks this game looks really cool, it took me a while to figure it out. I also didn't notice the tutorial either. The controls were little confusing. I just constantly hit wrong buttons. I started with the controller than had to switch to the keyboard. I eventually got the hang of it and enjoyed the challenge. I really like this concept.
the game is very cool and fun, the music fits well with the theme of the game and I really liked the artistic style.
The game could have some tutorial to help make the potions, many times I didn't know how to do it and I had to keep looking at the book which made me lose several hurried customers, but after a while of making the potions I managed to memorize the correct steps to do each of them.
Good work!
