I really like it!
I like the style and the idea of combining platforming with action. I did not get the chikens bombs idea, but they look cool.
The Rocket Jump is really fun, wish the levels where a bit more spacy to chain those jumps, really fun entry !
I liked the controls and rocket jumping, fun and interesting visual style, very good game, great job!

The way you through the levels together with these textures is great it looks really nice
I love the input- you did a good job making sure its relatively easy to actually play the game vs struggling with the controls.
What was your favorite part during development?
Really interesting idea to use explosions both for combat and progression — such an elegant feature! By the way, at this scale, the pixel art looks a bit too detailed. It might work better with slightly smaller sprites to match the scale and make everything feel more cohesive.
@popdaddygames Thanks for the feedback and playing the game ^^ Hmm for me personally it was level-designing, I always really enjoy trying to make levels have just the good amount of difficulty, action and interest.
@knownasphi Thanks for playing the game, yeah I understand, something I realized myself a bit too late on that there isn't enough space in levels to really "fly" around with the bombs
@jackshadow Thank you. The chicken bomb's usage comes well in more "cornered" places where you might not hit with normal bombs, chicken bombs could potentially reach. They are also useful in the boss battle to be able to stack multiple of bombs in quick succession
The gameplay was a little hard for me, but it's a very cool idea. Pixel art looks cute

Gotta support fellow pixel artists! The artstyle is amazing. I really like the concept of having different kind of bombs to use as your arsenal. However I found myself not using them too much, since I could solve all my problem with a big BOOOM, haha. But still, I like the idea ^^ Traversal is also quite nice with how you control your height.
Overall really neat and again, the artstyle is top notch :id: Good job, keep it up!
Accidentally switched bomb on the start to timed one and was thinking for some time "the hell how I supposed to kill that flying thing with it". Then found controls section and it went better, but damn, that platforming with rocketjump is really inconvenient... Otherwise cool, liked art and sounds.

ВАУ, я честно удивляюсь как за 3 дня вы смогли сделать такую законченную игру с таким количеством механик, уровней и мобов. Вы еще и анимировали все это... безумная работа, одна из самых любимых в людуме!!!
Very good, graphics are pristine. I found the first level very hard though, could have used some hp or check points for us losers who struggle lol. But def game has a wow factor.

love the music and the art the controls are smooth and once you get a hang of catapulting yourself up or over things it's very fun. great game! feels like it should be in an arcade! and i love how you cat switch between "bombs" nice feature!

пиксель арт бомба ваще, мне очень понравилась идея с прыжком от бомб,хотя я до нее додумалась не сразу.. разные вды бомб тоже прикольные, по дизайну зашла бомба с курочкой, из всех по идеи и по дизайну больше всего зашло:D
Visually, the game looks awesome! But jumping using your own shots feels a bit awkward... Maybe adding a progress bar to show shot strength would help? Right now, if you aim the camera down, you can’t really see how powerful the shot will be

Nice implementation for exploding yourself around and I found it really satisfying collecting the gold pieces! Quite hard, but fun. The art is great and sound all fits together for a good mood.

The aim arc mechanic allows for some cool trick shots which I like a lot. The boss fight was very difficult compared to the rest of the game but overall it's a very well crafted game with great audio and visuals. Excellent job.

The presentaion is great, I love the pixelart it's very well done and full of charm! it has a pretty unique style that helps it stand out which I like!

Great looking game - I love the character designs and general aesthetic. The rocket jump stuff was neat but felt a little glitchy/unpredictable at times. I didn't feel the need to use other types of bombs - maybe if there were situations where you needed to use them then the player would learn the pros and cons of each. The boss fight was pretty solid.

Explodicaves comes fully loaded with personality from the start, manic mine carts, flyin' fireball flingers and wall-walkin' wackos are ready to wreck your little gold dig. Thankfully, you've got the one thing every great expedition needs: bombs. Not just your classic throw 'n forget, but delayed bombs and the quite unique chicken bomb.
Explosions do more than dish out damage, they're a functional way to propel yourself in any direction. Like any rocket jump, it's a little tricky to nail, but once you get a general feel for the blast, you're pulling all kinds of stunts. From a good speed boost to nimble escape, it's pretty sick what's pulled off here.
Some good tunes too! Lo-fi and retro, just a vibrant as the rest of the scenes.
A very solid entry with super polished controls. The game mechanic is quite interesting and have a lot of flow to it, and with the music make for quite a hypnotizing kind of gameplay. Really nice work! I wish there was a way to play it fullscreen in the webversion. Since there was no fullscreen option neither here nor on itch, i keep clicking outside of the screen and ruining my shots ;-; mainly in the boss fighting, which make it super difficult to handle.
All that said, I think is overall a quite great entry. Super impressive controls and a lot of character. Good work!
Fun little action platformer! Charming artstyle. Using your own bombs to gain height is a fun mechanic. I will admit I wasn't always entirely sure of the utility of the alternate bomb types, though (you can't seem to switch between them with numbers as you're supposed to, also...?). The controls for shooting a bomb were also a little awkward to me.

I got stuck right at the begining of the tutorial, because couldn't jump over the obstacle. And then the thought appeared: *What if I use the bomb?* And what a pleasure it was when it worked! Great one!
It took me around 20 minutes to complete the game since I died several times on the 2nd level. And, yeah, the boss is very tough! I tried several things to beat him up. But I managed to do so only when I stuck to the corner. So, is there any other strategy to do so? Or is it just my *skill issue*? :D

Interesting and cool plattformer game!
The visuals look good and the UI is clear. I like the graphics and little animations of the characters.
One minor thing: When I shoot at an enemy (for example the big crate at the beginning) I did not realise that I did damage to him or even could kill it. If you put in some visual feedback (for example blinking enemy) it would make the game even better.
The overall polish is done very well. I think the level design was good, because the jumping by shooting on the ground mechanic was not introduced by a sign rather by the level itself. Good job! :)
Wow! Really impressed, quite polished, UI and sounds are indicative, unique looking and pretty addictive. I don't really have any feedback to work on, outside of adding things in general.

Nice game ^^ I always enjoy blasting rocket jumps around. It has a nice polish and cool pixelart and music ; Awesome, it has a well polished boss too! Maybe adding some death animation or some feedback on enemies touched, and a shorter cooldown, could make it a little more dynamic ? Also I ended the game quite easily bruteforcing and doing rocketjumps without switching bomb so I guess it can be used in level to create some sort of puzzle, or be in limited amount so we're forced to switch ? That default bomb was already quite powerful :)
This is a cool one! Really liked the sound. A standout platformer out of the ones I've played for this comp. Good controls, feels like a pretty fair challenge with thoughtfully designed levels with a good amount of obstacles and enemies. Really impressive that there are multiple useful abilities. Nice one!
This has GOT to be the most charming entry I've seen, kudos
