I had a good laugh about the concept! Pretty creatures tho :)

Visual is outstanding as well as sounds. Took me for a while to notice craft recipe at the top left corner.
I would also suggest to add something like mini game to crafting process. Some mechanics when quality of crafted item matters would be nice. May be in dependance of random or materials
The graphics are outstanding! Beatiful colors palette.
I had to check solution guide to get through the sign stage, but the idea is quite fun!
Awesome visual style! I wish to have some music in this game!
This is the best game that I've played during this game jam. Excellent work! I wish I had the option to save my progress, and definitely I'm looking forward to seeing updates for this game. At the beginning, I was struggling to understand how much money I had. For some reason, I didn't pay much attention to the huge chest with gold. My bad. Maybe it would be cool to have the option to form groups manually.
I really like the way how you implemented enemies AI. They are so smart and can catch you anywhere!
@vi6six yeah I haven't added any audio for this game, it is checked out from categories. Unfortunately we don't know how to make sounds for now :)
@andreas-decker Don't worry it took me some time to deal with this first archer even if it's my game haha :)
@the-lame-brain thank you! Yeah they are the pain in the ass
@domenixius Thank you for this notice, I simply forgot to adjust hitboxes. Will look into it :)
@aweskybear, thank you for your feedback and advice! I completely agree with you that a more detailed tutorial for this game would be good. I'll think about it and I try to create a clearer game for the next jam. I will definitely look into the issue with sounds. I have plans to implement a sound system for my engine, and it would be helpful to have resources to simplify the audio-making process.
@a-d-chaos, my apologies. I simply forgot to adjust the hitboxes, and the archers should indeed be nerfed. If you're still interested in playing the game, I've made some updates, fixed the hitboxes, and even added mobile controls so you can play using your phone now. I didn't want to update the original game for LD, so I've created a new repository. Here is the link to the latest version: https://michailremmele.github.io/alumnus-of-darkness/
ohhh such a nice idea! neat and simple. I saw that you wrote that you had problems with time-management, to my mind it is not short for this type of game jam, so don't be hard on yourself! :)
Cool artstyle!
It would be nice to have some limits on spells usage to force you to think about your strategy before the battle.
Great job! The graphics are really cool. I adore the combination of pixel art design with 3D, especially with all those lighting effects. It was a bit tricky for me to grasp the rules of the game at first, but eventually, I found it quite addictive. After my first try, I immediately wanted to play again. The sounds are also very atmospheric.
And yeah, my highscore is 411 with 4 demons captured.
Nice car! Really liked the appearance of it. Vibed through the level with this music.
What a cutie! Nice art and core mechanic is awesome!
I enjoyed the game! Could not figure out what I need to do after I activated all torches and opened the door. Is it all?
But anyway, the art is super cool and I liked cute creatures!!
Neat art! I liked cute little fighters. I summoned all my fellas at once, earned some money and died with honor :)
Great work! It's impressive to see strategy games developed in such a short amount of time. As a fan of this genre, I really appreciate your efforts in keeping it alive.
I encountered some difficulties accessing the game webpage on Netlify, but fortunately, I found a link to the Github Pages version which worked for me. It might be helpful to provide a fallback link for your game.
Giggled at this game immensely. Fun! Always wanted to make a game about elevators, and here you are living my dream :) loved it
It is a quite interesting mechanic! It took me some time to figure out what each page means in the book, but I got it in the end.
Fun idea! I have a few comments: - I have to click on element twice and then point direction. It would be better to be able to do it faster - It would be great to have a tutorial video for it!
Very cute graphics and audio, which together create a really cozy vibe. The idea of using physics in a color-matching game is quite interestingāI haven't seen anything like that before. I was a bit confused at first by the delay before matches start to react and disappear, but I assume it's to give the player more time to connect additional blobbies.
Great game! The audio and visual feedback for every action is excellent, and the concept is quite amusing.
I played using a mouse, and while I enjoyed the experience, I found that managing multiple actions with just the mouseālike moving by clicking while also needing to click to attackāfelt a bit challenging. However, this could just be a personal preference.
The art design of this game is absolutely stunning! The moment you uncover a hidden world beneath the current one is a real highlight. It wasn't immediately obvious to me that the borders of the screen act as solid walls where you can't die if you reach them. It might be helpful to have the perimeter visually indicated to avoid confusion. Overall, a visually impressive and immersive experience!
I really enjoyed this game! It's impressive how you managed to pack so many levels into the game. It's fun to see how levels push you to use all available mechanics, making it a satisfying challenge. A solid and creative jam entry!
Interesting concept! I really enjoy tower defense games, and this one stands out as unique.
One thing I wasnāt entirely sure about was the decision to separate purchasing and battling into two different screens. It might make the game feel more dynamic if everything happened on a single screen.
Additionally, it would be great to have the option to keep a previous item after purchasing a new one, allowing players to use both without losing the other.
Hotfix: Rats no longer skip road turns.
I enjoyed the paper drawing art, and the dog looks so cute. It feels a bit like an exploit that you can complete the level by just smashing the space bar to place your fleas at the top of the screen, allowing you to move to the dog while avoiding all the obstacles.
Cool art style! The 2.5D scene is an interesting and creative touch.
I did find myself wishing for more actions to perform in the game. Perhaps adding the ability to upgrade my magnifier or introducing unique abilities could bring more excitement and allow for a bit more chaos.
I had a lot of fun playing and managed to reach level 12 on my first try! I really enjoyed the idea of building walls, which added a nice strategic element to the game. Like others have mentioned in the comments, it would be great to have an option to build longer walls more efficiently, perhaps by holding down the mouse button.
I really enjoyed the visual art and the overall mood of the game. As a fan of tower defense games, I found the concept of using dynamic units instead of static towers to be quite creative and refreshing.
One suggestion I have is that it would be great if the units returned to their original positions after a fight.
The web mechanics are incredibly clever; I donāt think Iāve seen anything like this before. The way you highlight damaged parts of the web and how you can connect everything to build a complete cobweb is amazing. The attention to detail is impressive and adds so much depth to the gameplay.
The art is gorgeous, and combined with the sound, it creates a truly immersive experienceāgreat job! I donāt want to spoil anything, but⦠Iāve accepted my fate. š Not sure if itās something on your end, but when I clicked the settings button in the web version, a white dialog box popped up with some options. It might be better to style this menu in dark mode, since coming from a dark game screen, the brightness can be a bit harsh on the eyes.
The art is amazingāso cool! Iām curious, is it CG or traditional drawing? Either way, it looks fantastic. I couldnāt quite figure out how to avoid getting eaten so I had to read game description on this page ā it would be super helpful to have a brief in-game tutorial or some guidance at the start.
The pixel art animations are absolutely insane! The audio design is just as impressive and really adds to the immersion. I did notice that the main character occasionally blinks or flickers on screen, but I assume thatās just a minor issue.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play the web versionāit gave me a 404 error.
@cdupe Yeah, sorry for the killing borders. It was just easier to implement at the beginning and later I didn't find the time to change it.
The graphics are really greatānice job! It would be nice to have score points or to highlight a falling time display in the end, to show how far youāve gotten.
The main character looks fantasticāIād love to know more about the story behind this warrior. I also noticed some similarities to Loop Hero, which I really enjoyed. It feels like a solid foundation for future improvements and new mechanics to grow into something truly great. Awesome job! PS: I also found it much better without the CRT filter
The art and sound are amazing! The controls feel great, great job! The game is really scary actually. I couldnāt stop feeding those guys! It gave me a similar vibe to the underground zones in the latest Zelda game.
Really fun game! Thanks for including the tips in the descriptionāthey were super helpful. I had a bit of trouble understanding what to do at first before reading it. Also, really cool that thereās progression with upgrades.
The visuals in the game are absolutely gorgeous ā great job! I also made a game with a undersea theme, but your level of detail is on a different level. Unfortunately, I wasnāt able to progress very far because in the browser version, only the arrow keys and spacebar worked for me, but Z, X, and C didnāt seem to respond.
The vibes in this game are really cool ā I liked the music and the hellish setting a lot. Delivering that pizza turned out to be quite the challenge!
Really interesting use of gravity as a game mechanic! It would be great to have sound controls, though, as the audio was a bit too quiet for me. I had to turn my speakers all the way up to hear it clearly.
Really interesting idea to use explosions both for combat and progression ā such an elegant feature! By the way, at this scale, the pixel art looks a bit too detailed. It might work better with slightly smaller sprites to match the scale and make everything feel more cohesive.
It reminded me of games like Jump King, where part of the fun is watching streamers struggle to beat itālove that! The controls are really well done too. Great job!
eally fun and creative ideaāit feels like a mix between Snake with upgrades and platformer elements like moving obstacles from Mario. I did find it a bit tricky to collect all the gold after dying, since the speed increases quite a bit. I also noticed some FPS drops at that point.
The pixel art looks fantasticāgreat job!

Just beat the game ā really funny choice of music! Nice job! One small suggestion: you might want to try keeping all the pixel art at a consistent sizeāit would help the visual style feel more cohesive and make all the assets fit together better.
The game looks amazing! The cinematic was a nice touch as well. The camera shake during the cinematic's narrative was unexpected and very cool.
The sense of drilling is amazingāit feels really responsive and immersive. Great job! I do wish the combat stages were a bit more dynamic, and it would be awesome to have some upgrades for my cat too!
Great sense of speed, and the ground-smash animation looks awesome!
Great atmosphere ā the feeling of a falling elevator was captured perfectly! I found it hard to force myself to stop and read the advice on each floor because I just wanted to rush into the fight!
Really nice game! It reminded me of that mission in GTA: San Andreas where you have to steal weaponry from a generalāloved that vibe. Great use of the theme too. Excellent work overall! One small note: I was a bit confused at first by the look of the carpetsāthey had the same contrast as other elements, so at first, I mistook them for obstacles.
Awesome graphics and post-processing! As someone already mentioned, it really gives a Lethal Company vibe, which I loved. Overall, the atmosphere feels very immersive."
As already mentioned, the sound design is greatāmining is surprisingly pleasant thanks to those audio choices. I do wish there were more opportunities to use the shotgun.
What a quiet and lovely game! It's really impressive that you managed to create this during a jam. I did find the mouse click a bit inaccurate at timesāoccasionally, when I clicked to plant a seed, it would appear in a different spot. Also, Iād suggest adding an option to disable the CRT filter, as it can be a bit hard on the eyes, especially during darker parts of the game.

Just beat 20 levels ā this is the first jam game that really pushed me to complete its challenge. Super fun to play! I did feel that Spellpower might be a bit overpowered ā I poured all my money into it and was able to spam it to clear enemies pretty easily.
