Very impressive graphics and good models! But their some lacks in the UI and UX. Like reminders on the energy you have when you want to construct something to expensive, or when building walls, let the player build multiple of its kind and not just one. Good job!

nice

Interesting idea, it would also be nice to have a space between rounds to be able to relocate or finish placing more turrets.

Really fun, looks great too! Great gameplay loop, made it to wave 10 and it got really overwhelming. Definitely agree with a previous comment about letting you build more than 1 wall at once, but this was really slick! Eager to see more different types of enemies and units to build, and a way to heal your laser beacon would be great!

I love me a good tower defence game. Really great work in such a short amount of time. I wish there was some more feedback with hits/damage.

beelzeboss 2024-10-10 08:56

I really liked that you can place walls to guide the enemies, i also liked that the walls can be placed one by one, but as others have said a multi build option would be nice. The explosions when enemies die feel really satisfying. I think turret upgrades could add a lot while not adding to much work for a jam game. Also showing the cost of building on the thumbnail instead on hovering over them would be nice. Overall i liked it very much and had good fun!

kontroman 2024-10-10 09:06

good, losed at 10 wave, is there way to win?

stormburpee 2024-10-10 11:09

The visuals and models in davids vs. GOLIATHS are super impressive! I really enjoyed the gameplay loop, and it was fun trying to manage the waves of enemies while strategically placing walls to guide them. However, I agree with some of the feedback about UI improvements—showing the costs on the build buttons without needing to hover would be helpful, and being able to place multiple walls at once would streamline things. Also, it would be awesome to have more feedback when taking hits and maybe even some turret upgrades. Overall, I had a great time playing, and I’d love to see where this goes with a bit more polish!

fernofai 2024-10-10 14:29

@kontroman There is no winning condition, but you nearly made it because we have programmed 10 waves and after that it only loops the last wave (with some random parameters).

artallester 2024-10-10 14:40

The gameplay mechanics feel smooth and well thought out. You’ve clearly spent time fine-tuning the controls, and it pays off with an experience that feels natural and engaging.

janinna21 2024-10-10 15:02

Not a bad idea at all! The game has potential, but it could benefit from a bit more balancing to smooth out the gameplay experience. A few adjustments could really make it shine.

brain-siege-gameworks 2024-10-10 16:33

I had a problem when playing it where the enemies didn't acquire a target unless there were structures (Possibly only walls) close enough. Led to some waves where the enemy just didn't send out units.

druven 2024-10-10 16:33

Interesting concept! The sound effects were so good but I could barely hear them without zooming in. It would be beneficial to configure the distance attenuation options so that sounds are more audible from farther away. The music got a bit tedious after a while but it fit well with the overall atmosphere. Well done.

alem26 2024-10-10 18:41

@brain-siege-gameworks Thanks for playing our game! This is a known bug that we weren't able to fix in time sadly. Sometimes enemies struggle a bit finding the right attack target.

@druven Also thanks to you for the feedback! The audio distance attenuation could indeed need some more tuning, you are definitely correct there :)

cliff-coffee 2024-10-10 22:00

Impressive visuals and great presentation, gameplay was fun and engaging. Lots of potential here with the enemies attacks fixed for the later rounds. Zooming in and out was a nice touch. The audio attenuation wasn't bad for me (but I am using Studio Monitors with good dynamic response). Keep up the good work!

Great game! Ended up playing way longer than I was planning to. :D

tete 2024-10-12 10:20

Very good tower defence game, the strategy I followed to get to wave 10 was to build walls surrounding the beacon and place the towers within.

ziobob 2024-10-12 11:09

Nice job! A think that I noted is that at a certain point it's really chaotic and you have to put your unit in a frenetic way. If that's the way you thought the game that's cool and you managed that XD If not you could add the possibility to pause the game and let you strategize and manage better your units.

Impressive game anyway!

zoglu 2024-10-12 11:10

I followed @tete's advice and got to wave 10 too !

Capture d'écran 2024-10-12 130756.png

How many waves are there ? Great game with impressive visuals.

paulhocker 2024-10-12 21:03

It was a little crazy and fun. I really liked the simplicity of it although I agree with another player who said some time between rounds would have been nice. Great use of the theme.

mremmele 2024-10-13 08:56

I had a lot of fun playing and managed to reach level 12 on my first try! I really enjoyed the idea of building walls, which added a nice strategic element to the game. Like others have mentioned in the comments, it would be great to have an option to build longer walls more efficiently, perhaps by holding down the mouse button.

shir0o23 2024-10-21 10:48

it's so eye pleasing! it was a bit overwhelming at first, but i got the hang of it quite quickly! lovely project, very impressive

postfrog 2024-10-23 14:52

Its easy to confuse the enemies by moving the mouse on them when you select something to bulid. got to wave 10 with that. Those Davids sound happy (^:

paulsams 2024-10-24 19:59

At first I didn’t understand the idea, but then I understood it). Overall, I liked it, although I wished that I could build my own labyrinth out of walls there, but maybe these are just misleading expectations. I also wanted the choice not to be removed after installing the tower, because constantly clicking on the wall number is such a pleasure).
