I played first with "swipe" controls via mouse, 2nd time with keyboard. (Keyboard felt a little faster movement, though that could very well be psychological rather than mechanically true). Let's start with the things I didn't like: There is one rock pattern both times I'm pretty sure I didn't quite have the built in speed in order to clear without taking damage. Knowing I need to fire an arrow to deal with one demon, but using 2 arrows since another demon was nearby felt bad. The "edges" of rocks sometimes hurt me, other times I passed through fine. Things I found odd: A timer for a game where I fell at a set rate. Things I liked: Getting the weaving just right between thin rocks, as well as dodging "towards" the path the demons are coming from. The resource management, and firing an arrow when I "know" a demon is unavoidable. The ending was a fun twist (even if it contradicts what the arrows did before...) Thanks for sharing! (And thanks for playing Sacrisquare last year!)
The controls took getting used to, but definitely a fun and aesthetically beautiful experience!
Great graphics on this one. everything works as it should. Gameplay is simple to understand and fun enough to play. I enjoyed this a lot. Good stuff :8ball:
Hello there! I only played with the keyboard because I found it more enjoyable. I struggled at first, realizing I'd used my arrows way too quickly... and that I was going to regret it! I really like the animation of enemies exploding in a heart (long live the power of love!), and overall, the features are well polished, good job ! Potential points for a "post-game-jam" version: adding a bit more "action" at the very beginning of the game (because at first I didn't really understand if there was anything there or not ^^), perhaps adding some mechanics and fixing a few collision bugs (some parts seem impossible to do without losing health). Good job you two
The graphics are really great—nice job! It would be nice to have score points or to highlight a falling time display in the end, to show how far you’ve gotten.
The art is really well made, and I love the main character design. The music fits the game perfectly, and the heart explosion is such a nice touch. I also like the background transitions, they help keep the game visually interesting. Some parts felt tough with those sneaky enemy placements, but it added to the challenge. Thank you for making this! I hope you keep making beautiful games in the future.
i play with keyboard, as almost eveyone... i enjoyed the graphics, i liked the walls handpainted texture... i missed more hit feedbacks, but overall its a pretty game
Great gameplay and cool graphics
This is a nice simple concept done well with a lot of polish.
Super polished game! Great job :)
solid effort, art and effects look great! Kinda wish the side walls wouldn't damage you since that's where most of my deaths came from. Slowly getting your health and arrows back was a cool idea which made the entire resource management concept work, which makes it so that the tight turns that you can't pass without taking damage or enemies in bad positions feel more like challenge than an error in design, would be great if we could see how long we had to survive before recovering resources. Nice music!
The character art in this is great! The hero and enemies look fantastic!
What I would have loved to see is a little more explanation at first. It took me a bit to figure out that my arrows weren't going to regen. And in the early game, I felt certain I must not know all the controls.
This was cleanly executed and nicely polished. Really great jam game!
Simple, polished, great art!
Love the art style! Everything looks and feels cohesive and charming! Noticed there are some banding going on on the background image, maybe the image was too compressed or doesn't have enough bit depth, which is a little distracting (for me) in a overall very polished art style. Anyway great works!
Cute artstyle and loved the fact that I was able to play it on my mobile. But I couldn't shoot any arrows in the mobile mode. So gonna give it a try on my desktop!!
Loved it!
The visuals are nice and polished, and the idea is simple, but well implemented! Congratulations to the team!
Overall a good entry. The name of the game made me laugh :grimacing:
While the beginning is very easy it really picks up the pace towards the end. I was so close to dying a few times but I made it to the end! I guess I could've guessed by the name of the game what would happen at the end but I was so scared of what was going to happen at the end since I had one heart left when I got to the bottom. The ending was really cute and so were the graphics. I'd only hoped for a bit more variety to the obstacles going down but considering the time constraint there was a reasonable amount of different obstacles. Overall, good job!
