LD59 — Signal

Vice Signalling by Dogshroom 2026-04-24T20:41:17Z

I shared this game with few of the folks I roleplay Vampire: The Masquerade with because I thought it's an amazing inspiration for secret meeting of underground factions! Amazing concept, beautiful execution, GORGEOUS art style! If I have to be picky, the only thing I didn't vibe with was the first song in the game proper ("phase one" song, so to speak), because the loop was slightly too short; I was also lucky to discover the space button pauses the game early on, and had to pass on the news to other players I've seen struggling. These are tiny things in the grand scale, though, and you've done an amazing job with this!

Dot Dash Mash by chybby 2026-05-03T14:52:01Z

Omg, I love games like this, I could see myself doodling these puzzles for hours on Steam Deck or phone! I wish there was a way to speed up the text in the intro, it was very slow. I was also confused what to do in the first puzzle and it took me a bit (and reading the description on LD page!) to get what I'm doing. Once I got the hang of it, it was a breeze though :) Really liked the overall aesthetic and the idea!

i love you, too by tolviere 2026-04-23T20:53:56Z

I really love how simple and well-made the UI and graphics are, not taking away from the gameplay, and supporting the theme with the soft-colored palette. Also thank you for adding a little bit of the tolerance threshold, like I mentioned on itch, it really helped in avoiding the feeling of frustration of not hitting the right frequencies after some attempts. The story, although simple, felt touching. Overall, great entry!

Pyre Lookout by outstar 2026-04-21T19:16:34Z

@frogravity huge thanks for playing the game and leaving your feedback! I'll check if Phylis' form logic is bugged, it should've let you pick two folks, but helicopter maths took me A LOT and it's very possible I screwed something up (SPOILER ALERT: in helicopter ending, you can get one, two, or four helicopters, and Phylis form additionally allows helicopters to take two people, so it affects the math. :D)

AGENTS RHYTHM & RAID by Nadia Pixel 2026-04-24T18:26:15Z

I found a small bug in your game I think - after trying to clear the first arena, the red enemy remained on (not moving, not attacking, without a healthbar) after defeating it! Screenshot attached: gra.jpg

Another little piece of feedback is that I thought the dance sequence was an animation/cutscene at first, loading a new map/mode, because majority of the screen was taken by the screen that started with "Decoding..." (just felt to me like loading a new game!). I realized after a bit and started actually pushing the buttons :)

I really liked the dancing guy animation though, reminded me of Jet Set Radio!

Signal King by Tetramollaxx 2026-04-21T19:44:12Z

Had a lot of fun, thought I was steamrolling hard, but unfortunately lost to the Big Dude! Would love to try to play it with more screen space/smaller nodes to fit even more on the screen. Impressive how much was happening at the end without any performance drops on browser :)

LD42 — Running out of space

S.P.A.C.E. Module Collectors by AdroitConceptions 2018-08-15T19:43:52Z

So, I've just streamed your game - here's a bit of feedback that I hope will prove useful!

What I think went well:

- the retro shooter feel was absolutely there, - 3D graphics made it into a nice fps gameplay, - compass mechanic was very useful and needed, thanks for implementing that! - the use of theme was fresh (space module instead of space shrinking as in every single game here :D)

What I think could go better:

- I think the game could be a bit longer and more challenging, - I believe the movement was a bit too fast and "slide-y" for this sort of "retro" FPS feel, you could go full retro with this and the graphics wouldn't matter that much then - collisions on walls - in 3D games like this with a lot of walls appearing, it's a good habit to make wall collisions "push" player a bit to the sides. This makes the game more fluent and prevent player pawn from getting stuck or slowed down by walls on his way!

I hope this feedback was helpful and good luck in the jam :)

Sugar Withdrawal by Raccoon_JS 2018-08-15T16:53:23Z

Good first try! Fun thing is, you did the same mistake with player's collision as I did with my very first jam game ever, which was a platformer as well - both in your game and mine, player can get stuck on walls because of faulty collision.

To prevent that, make sure that collision is always tiny bit smaller than how objects look and make it a bit rounded (add more verticles!) on corners of rectangular surfaces.

This should do the trick! :)

Corrupted Space by egordorichev 2018-08-14T16:27:18Z

Really loved your gam! I think the best part of it is music and challenge. Music, made fully by you in Pico-8, is truly shining through it, doesn't get boring and is totally catchy. Graphics are absolutely great, I love the use of color palettes. Gameplay is challenging and has great pace/learning curve - while first levels teach you how to play by itself, next throw you challenges to beat with your new skills. I got strong Super Meat Boy vibes from it :)

What I would improve: - the game gets super chaotic with its screenshake and tons of moving items on top of each other. I don't really think "cleaning balls" are that much of a needed feature - it could be just an aura or circle around the player, not fully animated - they get blended with enemy projectiles and other things quickly and bamboozle me a lot. - totally add a sound for getting a key and make it disappear immediately - I never knew if I actually got the key or not :D - found some bugs - could move through spaces I shouldn't be able to.

Overall, it was a really fun experience!

OutThere by mrsylar59 2018-08-14T17:17:05Z

Had a lot of laugh at my fails, good job! What I really liked: - two gameplays in one - very good execution of the theme - so many game over screens! :D - it's really hard, to the point that it's funny

I didn't like much that I didn't know at first why I'm getting game over screens - I think game should explain itself to me a little bit better. Audio gets a bit repetitive after a while as well.

The idea was really good, the execution needs just some polish :)

Overall, nice job!

To Infinity and Beyond by Olivier Millochau 2018-08-16T14:18:27Z

I love the concept of the game and in general, I'm a huge fan of survival strategies (like Frostpunk and They Are Billions), so I would really like to see full version of your game :) the only problem I had with it is that web version ran pretty slow - I had to sometimes click few times on a (available) building to actually choose it.

Also, it could be better if you pause the game and show tutorials for various mechanics one by one instead of long text in the beginning. It was quite easy to get it, but the amount of text scared me at first :)

Nether Flood by Ever 2018-08-14T16:42:14Z

Hey! What I liked: - the pacing and increasing challenge - the game seemed very at first, but it got hectic pretty fast! - you don't have to have many graphics or mechanics to make the game fun, and I think you guys proved it :) - theme is executed pretty much perfectly!

what I didn't like: - the controls could be a bit better - maybe aiming for direction with a mouse and moving with W? just test it out!

I would opt out of audio and graphics though, because you guys didn't have art person on board and there's barely any audio. I didn't rate you in these two categories because of that :)

Good luck in the jam!

why

Chief Data Engineer by candlesan 2018-08-16T14:49:46Z

Really neat puzzle game, after some visual rework it would be a great mobile game if you added more levels! I love melting my brain on things like this :)

Globulator by Corbak 2018-08-15T20:33:13Z

Really smart idea with different viruses/bacteria and different ways white cell can deal with them. I could see this game on mobile or expanded further for PC! The only issues I had with it was music and, secondly, how first level was preeeetty difficult for a "tutorial" - I had less problems with second one. Good job overall!

Ball on keys by ludum1118 2018-08-15T16:47:37Z

Hey, a better tutorial would be appreciated, I didn't quite get the controls at first and prompt messages weren't helpful. Also, is there any way to restart it or quit it? When I lose it, pressing escape just causes a sound :) Good luck in the jam!

SWORD1 by Lawrence 2018-08-14T17:35:07Z

This felt surprisingly much like when I played Dark Souls. I was screaming at the screen and trying to beat every level at first try, which of course never happened. :) Very good pacing/learning curve with the levels. I'm not sure if it's needed to make all levels available for player from the start though, but I understand it could be for jam purposes only!

The only thing I didn't like is how "slippery" the ground is - it added to a challenge, but maneuvering the player with WASD around caused my wrist to hurt, as it usually is when you have to quickly readjust your velocity.

Overall, great job, killing that last boss gave me tons of satisfaction!

1066; The Viking Conquest of England by prv 2018-08-30T21:25:31Z

Interesting game, I liked the various upgrades I could do in between the maps. However, there are some technical problems with it - few of my swordsmen dying from one hit at once, lack of tutorial/explanation of what's going on (took me a moment to figure it out) and I couldn't understand anything from the voice acting (but kudos for doing it!). Good try and good luck!

S. O. Nic Adventure by Reuh 2018-08-15T19:20:15Z

So, I streamed this game and laughed my buttcheeks off during the gameplay! The use of the theme is probably the best I've ever seen as well. Very good job.

I just keep on wondering how did the brainstorming on theme look like... "Hey, we need to run out of space. Bar. Also peanut butter. Also zombies. Also genies. Okay?" "Yeah, sure, let's do it."

Pyramidion by Matank 2018-08-14T18:49:07Z

Just played game! Let me share you what I liked about it and what you could improve in the future :) But first of all, kudos on making your first game in Unity - it's going to get easier from now on!

So, what did I like about Pyramidion? - Egyptian theme. I gotta ask, was that voice in the beginning Egyptian? I'm not really sure, but if so, it's a very nice touch! - funny jumping snakes :) - the pyramid idea behind it - it totally makes sense that levels are shrinking while you're climbing up, also it's a very smart use of the theme.

What I didn't like so much: - snakes are spawning in set place, which sometimes mean they can spawn on character. Some margin for that would be great, so the spawner knows where player is and spawns snakes next to him :) - the difficulty is very low in general, the only deaths I had is because of collisions that didn't seem very much on point, - and speaking of above - collisions!

Overall, good try, good luck :)

Ode to Resilience by Xarras 2018-08-14T19:24:37Z

Hey, I really enjoyed the idea for this game and its strongest element: animations! The way the rabbit was disappearing depending on if I touched poison, fire or others was just incredibly beautiful and a joy to behold.

However, the game has some issues, so let me give you the feedback on that: - Collisions on platforms (words). This is the same mistake I made in my first platforming game - you need to make sure that player doesn't get stuck if it jumps on the very corner of collision, from which the only way leads down (can't jump up anymore). This can be prevented by making a little bit smaller collision boxes, adding more verticles to them on corners or other ways - depending on how you want to do it. I really recommend you to do some research on this!

- The voice saying things out loud is fun, but it quickly gets behind - I reach the words before they are being spoken - and it could be better if it played again after I died and got back to the checkpoint.

- My biggest issue involved the innovation of the project - last Ludum Dare had an entry very similar to this which got to a higher place. This could serve as an inspiration, but it would be better if you build on top of that idea instead of just repeating it :)

Overall, a good try, I think the most issues can be fixed pretty easily. Good luck in the jam!

Hell's Janitor by Happy 2018-08-16T14:22:50Z

Wait, not only people die, but they also die when they are KILLED?! *runs in panic*

Really nice aesthetics, would love the gameplay way more if we could strike and move faster. Also, not sure what the audio cues are about - I can hear this "ping" every now and then but is this enemy spawning, or... something else? Hmm!

A Fight on the Waves by MarkoPoloDev 2018-08-15T17:04:30Z

Hey, I played your game and thought it had a really nice mood to it, with pleasant colour palette, graphics and audio. The only thing I didn't like about the gameplay itself is how I couldn't walk and shoot at the same time :) However, I stumble upon a bug I think - I got stuck on one island and died there, which caused me to see this with no possibility to restart/quit the game:

sh3_13_1600.jpg

Raiders of the Lost Beer by sawtan 2018-08-16T14:27:40Z

Fun game, funny how shotgun was my favorite weapon just like it is in UT or Quake - I guess old habits never die!

I did feel this retro Doom-esque mood during playing, so kudos for that :) The only thing I would change is the lava border - it was SO easy to fall there getting powerups on the borders was totally pointless. I would exchange the border for more lava spawns during each wave!

Busy Streets by Harker 2018-08-16T14:33:24Z

Very interesting idea, I was immediately drawn to the visuals and web-based strategy - however, I think it would be much better if you could put the tutorial, even in the written form, in the game itself. Checking in between this page and game window just to make sure if I'm doing things right was a bit of a chore. Also, not a huge fan of the music - was a bit too repetitive and I'm sure it must've gotten annoying for you during the development :) On the good side - idea, visuals, building mechanics, all worked nicely!

Don't Drown by schsam 2018-08-14T16:57:10Z

Didn't rate the game yet, but just letting everyone know - streaming this game is quite risky, as it does melt the CPU a bit (I'm on i7-6700K 4,00 GhZ) and makes the stream die, as OBS don't have enough power to send the footage :)

Smoke: it's ok to feel by Lumpy 2018-08-16T14:07:57Z

I would love to play your game, however I got "installer integrity check has failed" error message upon opening it. Is there any workaround?

Smoke: it's ok to feel by Lumpy 2018-08-16T18:28:15Z

@lumpy we tested it on 2 different PCs with more than a dozen GB left on the drive! :(

Super Responsible Parent by dietzribi 2018-08-15T19:32:11Z

Streamed this one, was happy to host you! Let me quickly explain what I LOVED about your game and what, I believe, could use some improvement:

YASS!

* the gameplay itself, * idea, * HUMOR! * intro/outro/voice acting

okay so here's what you could do if you were stupid enough to listen to me:

* change the spiky sprite, doesn't fit the game much * that music is a bit repetitive * please call your mom more often * eat better quality food ok

Master The Space by nenas 2018-08-15T17:09:37Z

I think it's the first libgdx game I've seen in this jam, good job! In-game tutorial would be handy, but I figured out what to do pretty quickly and from then, the game turned very easy. Maybe scaling difficulty (less time to assemble pieces together) would make it more fun in the long run :) Good luck!

Space Invasion by Nam Nguyen 2018-08-15T18:54:45Z

I liked everything about this lil' gam except for suicide mechanic which happened when I shoot the first gun too close to myself. I think it should just pop the player out instead of killing it instantly, because sometimes it can lead to unexpected deaths which happen just by a pixel. Overall, a very good entry, one of the most enjoyable ones I've checked out!

Warehouse Mayhem by RahmKota3 2018-08-14T18:19:40Z

Make sure to play the downloadable version and not the html5 one. The second has some issues, apparently. Played the "wrong" one, so I'm not giving you a rating, but I just wanted to say it has a pretty nice idea and retro feel to it (felt like Donkey Kong at times), but it would be cool to have the mechanics explained a bit better - either through instructions, or gameplay itself.

Daycare Dilemma by Random-storykeeper 2018-08-16T14:55:18Z

I was immediately drawn by the idea and graphics in screenshots and I laughed a lot once I realized what the game is about! Some icons indicating needs of both babies and cats were a little bit confusing, it took me a while to realize what these damn brats want from me. Overall, opening babycare and cat care at once is not a perfect idea, cats cried, babies didn't because they're probably dead, please don't sue ;<

Had fun! :)

Escape the Junk by LoOoNeliEst 2018-08-15T16:43:12Z

Hey, just played your game! I think the graphics were pretty nice, especially the room and player itself. Rats were not that bad, they serve the purpose :) The only thing I didn't like much is the mechanic of shooting - I can't hold space to do it, I can't press it rapidly to do it, I have to time it in a pretty uncomfortable way to shoot the most bullets. Except for that, it was fine! Good luck!

Survirus by AdultLink 2018-08-14T18:06:02Z

Once I realized what the actual rules of the game are, I could easily understand what mistakes I've been doing - I think you could add a little bit more flashed out tutorial/rules to help players understand what they should do.

In general, it was a very good take on the running out of space idea - instead of doing another drive cleaning simulator, you turned it around a bit and make the player a virus, which was very smart!

Good luck in the jam :)

Journey of the Crab by maoap 2018-08-15T17:34:44Z

Gotta say, that crab really made me smile!

I think you could do a bit more responsive and fluid controls - I didn't had many problems with it, but they didn't feel "right". Platformer games make us used to some more velocity and arc-like jumping - here, I really had to follow what you said in the help screen and jump, then press directional keys. Except for that, all good!

Hoarding Hank by BarkerGames 2018-08-30T21:29:36Z

Really cool idea and take on the theme, the only issue I had with the game were the controls - I think they could've been done better with WSAD and mouse rotation :)

The Flesh Pit by frankiesmileshow 2018-08-16T14:05:47Z

I looove the aesthetics of this and variety of enemies you put there! The only issue I had is with timing of player attacks and inability to attack at some points (during jumping/movement), enemies strike first no matter what I do :o

Space Collapse by Steffanie 2018-08-14T19:08:36Z

Hey, cool idea for the game! Here's some feedback on how you could improve it: - not sure about this hip-hop backing track-like music in the background - it's a space game about epic destruction of Earth, this wasn't much fitting, I hope you agree! - you can press space constantly which shoots projectiles non-stop - it's like a way to cheese the game. If you wanted it like that, implementing a constant shooting without the need to press anything would be better, while if it's not something you intended, you should make sure there's a cooldown on shooting. - there are a plenty of spelling mistakes here and there, and you could make text more nice - probably by using a font and drawing it in a less random place :)

I hope this wasn't discouraging, I wish you the best and good luck with the jam!

The Best Internet Experience by Hugo kieffer 2018-08-15T20:01:36Z

Very good way of simulating the most annoying experience ever :D It's hard to call this game "fun", but it's for sure well done for its purpose. I wish the difficulty would scale up a bit during the game, so disabling adds gets harder in time - with a bit longer timer on bluescreen. This could add more to the playing experience. Overall, really good idea, I liked how you did it, these sounds triggered my inner Aggretsuko. Good job. :)

Construction Pit by TheSomeoneXD 2018-08-15T19:54:28Z

Hey, really cool game, I think it would work well on arcades or as a mobile game! The things I would improve are mostly connected with the fluid controls and collisions, which I think were a bit harsh (doing -2 pixels on each block would be perfect to not die out of some surprise corner collision somewhere). Also, I would appreciate if movement was a bit faster. Also, screw that guy on the other side. :<

Miss Eyesore by Filip Bergkvist 2018-08-14T18:13:00Z

That was a really neat horror experience. I can see some YouTubers picking it up to do jumpscare'y videos! I screamed when Miss got to me :)

Uninstall by Deadeyejoe02 2018-08-14T17:49:07Z

I really enjoyed this little gem of a game! Would work great on mobile and you could add more apps/events or even visual novel elements (I loved the fact that apps were talking to me).

JUST IMAGINE: you fight some apps, but make friends with the others, and that's a clear way to romance! :)

Music was amazing, graphics were really nice, I like the humor and general feel. Fun thing though, the first "combat" was the hardest - could be a good idea to flip them around.

Also, why no Porndub event?! 1/10 IGN.

Thanks for giving me some fun with this :3

MY SYSTEM IS GETTING HACKED by 0x0 2018-08-14T18:27:51Z

Amazing use of the theme and aesthetic! The only issue I had with the game is that I would love to have some kind of "regenerating" mechanic so we can keep playing. Not sure if there is anything like that implemented, I wasn't able to find it. One of the best games of the jam I played so far for sure :)

Inventorious by MatiErnst 2018-08-14T18:38:11Z

Really liked your idea and execution - I laughed at the sausage part :) The only problem is, the game is SUPER dark and I had to really focus my eyes to see where I can put stuff and where I can't do that. Not sure what was the idea behind the graphics - although, gotta say, it did give a nice retro "dark" vibe with the music - but you should totally make the tiles more distinguishable from each other.

Didn't get past the flag puzzle, but still had fun. :D

Sofamino by shide 2018-08-15T18:40:22Z

I liked everything, like, LITERALLY everything about this little gem. Weeell, except for one tiny thing: I couldn't get the rotation controls to work intuitively for me. I always tried to press something else, but that could be just my incompetence and not your fault. Good job overall, had a good laugh!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-14T21:22:20Z

@fourtythree43 thanks tons for your feedback, we're feeling just the same! We want to work on this game further and make it into a proper, challenging roguelite with quick item management during battles, enemies that can shake your equipment around and new kinds of mechanics, like traps, crafting new items on collision at camps etc. We'll be working on it more for sure, so feel welcome to come back to it after the jam :)

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T13:54:21Z

@tuism we've just uploaded Mac version! :)

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T15:49:04Z

@tuism very weird thing - uploading the game to itch damages the file, we tested it on 2 macs and file works well when we move it around on pendrives, but once we download the same file from itch, it's damaged :o we're looking for a workaround, will keep you posted!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T15:50:25Z

Hey @kulix, thank you so much for playing the game! Quick question - did you play the original (legacy) version with installer, or v1.1? I nerfed rings substantially in the new version, but it could be that with good rolls you can still get nice stats with them - hence asking :)

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T16:04:04Z

@tuism I got it! It seems your Mac doesn't allow you to open apps from unknown sources. We're looking for a workaround so the next Mac build doesn't cause this issue, but as for now, you can play the game once you change your security settings and allow your Mac to open application from unknown source: https://www.statsilk.com/support/faq/resolving-mac-only-error-file-damaged-and-should-be-moved-trash

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T16:31:54Z

@tuism Damn :( Seems we have to scratch the Mac version though - we don't have the developer's license and it's too costly to afford for the purpose of a jam alone. Sorry for taking your time!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T17:29:05Z

@tuism Game Maker Studio 2!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-15T20:19:19Z

@swiftpotato huge thanks for playing our game and wasting so much time on it, it means a lot! :) And yes, we had too much fun during this jam and we see potential in this little guy - so we'd love to work on it more!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-16T15:34:34Z

@rend huge thanks for your feedback! We will decide on one coherent artstyle for the final version for sure - for this one, because of 72 hour limit, we had to split up, as @titos2k drew 91 (!) objects and I did the pixel arty rest :) Our styles are much different indeed, so we will figure out how to mix them in full development!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-16T17:38:57Z

@dodoita thank you for your kind words! This is our first Ludum Dare, my third game jam, @titos2k's second and @memoriesin8bit's first, so we're all more or less rookies :) We've never used GameMaker before either, I just did the main tutorial prior to LD and guys installed it for the first time during the jam. :D

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-16T17:59:48Z

@tuism hey, it's us again - Mac version works now! :D We added new file and instructions on how to open it on Itch page!

Loot Keeper by outstar 2018-08-18T11:27:40Z

@nickzangus The movement is based on WSAD and R to rotate to make it a bit harder! :) In the final version we plan to implement full drag and drop.

The Not Very Golden Age of Piracy by nuclearfriend 2018-08-16T15:11:17Z

Damn, that was CUTE! And that voice-acting was surprisingly good - kudos to the whole team for pulling a good quality game during jam's hours!

As I liked more than I didn't, let me start with the second:

What I was not so sure of, mate :o

* At the beginning, it was hard for me to understand I need to move the baby, then - that I can move the baby for more than one slot at once, then - that the whole point is to do it in steps, as this way baby can move in the most efficient way without repearing the ship. * Also, I thought at first I'm triggering the repair myself and I need to do that over attacking enemy! * Baby sounds are unnecessarily loud, screaming over that damn good narrator I love with all my heart and soul.

What went great right after!

* If you don't get discouraged at first, game does teach you what to through rising difficulty, so it's not that bad! * I did actually swear at these damn chickens, friggin' landlubbers, what are they doing, they can't even SWIM! * Graphics, audio and implementation of the whole was really nice <3

Overall, I think a small tutorial in the beginning would be useful for dumbos like me, but the game itself was very neat!

Claustrophobia by DangoGameDev 2018-08-15T20:11:44Z

Hey DangoSama, let me give you a bit of the feedback that I hope will be useful for your design :) I think you could make the game easily longer and more fun/understandable for players if you introduced mechanics one by one. You have three mechanics in the game so far: spikes, pressure plates and hammer that destroys boxes/shows levers. What you could do to make this game way more appealing is to create separate, similar rooms in which you introduced all of them one by one instead of throwing them all at player at once.

So first, you start with empty room with just spikes - player goes through it, notices that spikes are a danger here, "alright, I gotta beware of spikes!".

Then, you put a single pressure plate in the middle - player presses it and door opens.

Then, you put two or three of them and player needs to figure out the order of pressing.

Then, you add a lever. Then, a hammer and a lever.

This way, you can make the game longer with assets you have already but teach the player through the gameplay itself.

Also, the pressure plates should have audio cues that tell player whether he does it in a good or bad order (it's a very simple trick to teach people how to do stuff).

I hope this was helpful!

no-kill by daniel 2018-08-15T18:26:35Z

Hey there, just played your game! The things I loved the most were the graphics (color palette and cutesy 3D models really made it shine) and the use of theme - I love dogs personally, so you got me there. However, I wish there was a run button, because it broke my heart that I couldn't feed all these dogs efficiently. Hope you understand!

You Shoot Walls by Kodiqi 2018-08-15T16:58:53Z

I really like the idea of being able to shoot walls, I just wish there was a better reason to do that! Killing enemies is great, but it doesn't seem good enough if walls are indestructible and we can't play further once we place enough of them :) Also, enemies shouldn't be able to go through them I think - this would open a whole "room" of possibilities (ha, you get it? Room? As it has walls too? HAHA... I didn't get enough sleep today...) :)

Anyway, nice try!

Polygon Bash by josehzz 2018-08-15T17:38:11Z

This is strangely addictive and a really cool interpretation of the theme - I'm surprised it's not another "your space shrinks" kind of game taken literally, but your space DOES shrink, considering your enemies and spikes on the other side. Very smart. Also, graphics are nice! I only wish the pew pew sound was a bit more quiet :)

Rude Bear Resolution by alexrose 2018-08-15T17:28:00Z

I like when readme's make me laugh :) Very cool graphics, especially the background tiles! The idea was executed really well, although sometimes rapidly changing screen size made me a bit dizzy - I think this mechanic works well with games in which you drag and resize the window yourself, but when it does it all the time in pretty short intervals, it can cause quite of a headache. Fixed screen size with black or drawn frame around it could do better in this case :) Really cool idea with expanding the universe during every LD - I will look for another Rude Bear entry next time!

LD52 — Harvest

The Feudal in the Rye by echerry 2023-01-09T22:40:24Z

Super addicting once you grasp the initial mechanics, had a lot of fun!

Catchy by danmerey 2023-01-21T19:08:58Z

This was super relaxing, I was able to catch all of them except for Shy Shark and Giant Goldfish :( Workable with touchpad controls too, played on Mac so I didn't use right click much. I wasn't sure how often the wind changes, maybe I was lucky, but initially it changed on itself first time when I bumped the edge of the map, but wasn't able to recreate it after. Really dig the artstyle!

Harvest Festival 64 by Warrrkus 2023-01-09T22:33:13Z

This reminded me of Ben Drowned or the "haunted copy of Pokemon cartridge" stories! Really fun experience, a bit too much flashing light at the end, but loved the creepy face showing on player character!

Hex Crops by armlubos 2023-01-11T11:01:22Z

Not rating because the art looks AI made, you should note it down in the description if it was pre-generated (some details on pictures show AI artifacts) :(

Harv&West by Kebableykan 2023-01-09T22:44:16Z

Really nice graphics, style and sound, unfortunately unplayable on a regular (non-French?) keyboard :(

Carrot by itsBoats 2023-01-09T22:51:24Z

i give this game 🥕/10

Shroomer Caves by Martynas 2023-01-11T11:18:49Z

I really enjoyed the base gameplay loop! I think the game could be a little bit more challenging as I was able to get maxed out on stats pretty quickly and didn't feel the "survival" feel underground after a while with 10 carrots in my backpack, but this could be easily fixed if you ever plan to work on it further. I think it has a lot of potential!

LD55 — Summoning

Tristram by Rongo Matane 2024-04-21T20:41:28Z

Holy damn, someone else except for me is this obsessed with Tristram's Theme?! This recreation gave me life! Huge kudos to the audio person, and to the rest of the team for making a fun game - great job with the assets and animations :)

Help of the Cthulhu by Jiri Hysek 2024-04-16T08:49:42Z

This really surpassed the first impression! I thought it's going to be just a regular slasher platformer, but the puzzle element of planning your moves and help from Cthulhu was a big surprise and very fun in the end. I'd love to see this expanded with more puzzles in the future :)

Artisan by Iluvatar 2024-04-16T21:57:44Z

Huge kudos to whoever worked on these assets, they look crisp and so much variety for such little time! The loop was relaxing, slightly repetitive but flavored with all the side things to unlock like fishing or seed planting. Would love to see factions having a more tangible impact on what we can do!

Familiar Quest by BalimaarTheBassFish 2024-04-21T13:43:42Z

Thanks for your hard work on the game, and I understand you had the added stress with discovering that your artist used AI after already posting in defense. Game jams teach us a lot of things in a short time, and sometimes they also teach us about PR and public statements, which is a great lesson to learn (and better to get it on a jam project than on a full release!). Hope the team is doing good.

But back to the game! I got the ghost whale ending. I also immediately noticed the AI source of your art - thanks for opting out of the category! Honestly, I think it's what distracted me the most from just enjoying the flowery writing and branches resulting in different endings - it's genuinely better to have simpler, handmade art, even made by a programmer with no prior art experience, than having very clashing, generated styles who fight for player's attention with too much detail added and no art direction. If the city or the room doesn't pay a big role in your game, there's no reason to give it the detail worthy of hidden object game or a highly interactive point and click screen - but AI of course doesn't know that, so you always get things you didn't ask for :) Huge kudos to the person responsible for music/SFX, it carried the atmosphere where the art tried to interfere.

Writing was fun with a little bit of humor - it would be great if all the joke-y "achievements" were actually displayed somehow in the menu, like medals :)

Shards by mechanicallife 2024-04-16T09:45:04Z

Wow, this is dark, the punishment was fun! Really nicely polished assets, loved the scroll opening, all animations looked slick. My only issue was not being able to see what's written on the shards very well - I haven't find a way to zoom them or best angle to read them at (when close to you, the light falls on them and makes them slightly less fun to read then slightly further away, but then they're tiny!)

Dark Roast Cafè by outstar 2024-04-15T21:43:21Z

@gravityflip Sure! An exclamation mark shows up over worker slots you need to fill in order to progress with your guests. You can either fill them with a summoned worker, or do it yourself by picking a role next to your avatar. In the beginning, before you get enough minions to fill all slots, you have to switch around to do the work!

I hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions!

Dark Roast Cafè by outstar 2024-04-15T21:45:35Z

@gravityflip Wait - it's possible you don't have a table, if you missed the tutorial! Make sure to buy your first table to start serving your guests :)

Dark Roast Cafè by outstar 2024-04-16T11:56:11Z

@olenikimid That's a great find! Cashier does rate better with speed which results in a bigger tip, and tips correspond to XP, so you paired two things perfectly to cheat on it efficiently :D never saw anyone getting this level before, congrats! And yeah, balancing had to be pretty rudimentary for the jam's purposes, if I ever build up on it I'll tweak the logic to be less about finding ultra solutions like this :)

I'll look into the slow down, might be connected to the values you got!

Dark Roast Cafè by outstar 2024-04-17T19:45:24Z

@randomhuman Thank you so much for playing! This is a visual bug that doesn't affect the gameplay and your stats - basically all workers currently take care of the latest table that submitted a need, which leaves some tables look like there's no progress happening, but it's the progress on workers that matters for the general stats and tips :) I'll make sure to add to list of fixes!

I💰I💎I⚔️I by BoltKey 2024-05-03T19:37:46Z

That was really fun! One bug I found is, after restarting the game after Game Over, I opened the rules menu and accidentally clicked outside of it, which moved one of the cards to the middle - when I closed the rules, I got another game over and a word instead of the money number, I believe "NaN" or something similar - clicked through before I screenshotted it, though :(

Bail Out! by Historymaker118 2024-04-17T17:05:24Z

Really fun take of the theme, I had to read in the description that you can throw donuts though, played it again and won :) My only feedback is that the court was hard to find (maybe an arrow at the side of the screen to show you the way to go?), and the web build lagged when I was chased by the police!

Ghostly Lens by MorePixels 2024-04-16T08:23:31Z

I got 115 on my first try, planning to beat the dev score next :D Cool idea, the general mechanic somehow reminded me of Phasmaphobia (with a certain moment when a ghost turns violent and wants to chase you). Awesome that you found time to add in sound effects, really made it whole feel more alive. That was fun!

Trial by Combat by Gravityflip 2024-04-15T21:24:18Z

NOT THE PLASTIC STRAW FACTORY AS A *HOBBY!*

This was really fun! I love your take on the theme, music is dope (that bass!) and fights were enjoyable! The only tiny annoyance was not being able to jump diagonally, but I guess that was a feature, not a bug (making it more difficult, right?) :)

Also psst: your game doesn't work on Ludum Dare page, here's a link to a guide on how to fix it! IT takes a bit of effort unfortunately, I didn't do it myself, but in case you still have time: https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/

Trial by Combat by Gravityflip 2024-04-15T21:30:39Z

@leiv-erik Damn, I need to level up my arcade fighting skills! Trying it again then, thank you for responding!

Harvest Festival by Sampai 2024-04-16T10:45:46Z

I played through it, got a question! Is there some kind of "new game plus", or content that is unlocked on second playthrough? When I finished the game and restarted, there was a new dialogue line ("Something is wrong", I believe) which I haven't seen before - so if there's more stuff I'd love to play it again :)

I was really surprised at the change of pace on encounters, that was fun! Here's some feedback: - In some moments when it should be impossible for us to interact with folks around we can still do that (on reloading scenes you can trigger a dialogue again, for example) - It's not clear where collisions of the map are - I thought at first forest is not explorable as it had a dark edge that suggested "nope, don't go", and I couldn't see walls in the cave at all - Your game doesn't work on Ludum Dare web - I think you made it in Godot, if so, you'd need to follow the guide here to make it work: https://ludumdare.com/resources/guides/embedding/ - or I just suggest leaving it on itch alone if you don't have time :)

Sold By Wizards by bobbie 2024-04-18T19:58:48Z

This was super fun, I love lethal company and to see a fun mage-like spin on it was very surprising for this jam! Loved the use of a theme and general gameplay, haven't encountered any bugs, it was super pleasant!

Very little feedback here: - Music at the beginning of each summoning of the portal at least would be nice! - Because of quick typing with space, I couldn't read the descriptions, and they sounded super fun :(

If you added a mechanic of having to haphazardly add item description/tags to the sold items on mage-amazon, and some threat in the maps (Lethal Company got us used to that!), this could easily be a well selling game on Steam!

The Curse of Lake Pineview (Gameboy Color) by zagony2613 2024-04-16T21:45:32Z

Awesome job! The game looked great, love the classic GB feel, it must play great on the console :) The part I really dug is the simple, but interesting overcharging mechanic which made attacking a fun gamble. My only piece of feedback is that all music and sound effects were great apart from the "outside" music, which seemed pretty monotonous in comparison to others. Thank you so much for the experience, I enjoyed it a lot!

He Who Sleeps by benskca 2024-04-16T19:34:24Z

I really loved the ominous atmosphere of the cave part and the slight moving of the screen, it was very creepy! I also had a funny moment when I accidentally dropped one of the people next to the monster and he just lied there waiting for me to pick him up again :D

Faemori by EllieRaev 2024-04-15T21:19:31Z

Really awesome job on the music and graphics, so much done in very little time! I can easily see this game expanded in the future for a full release. Also huge kudos to the music guy, great tunes!

We Blessed Few by koloquials 2024-04-15T20:56:38Z

Love the angelic color palette and music to vibe to. Big bad boss angel looked a bit like from Hazbin Hotel design-wise! Big plus for very interesting card design and crisp writing, the game is written in a great way and has a great overall quality/polish for a game jam time!

I didn't understand one thing: a card once said that I should be careful while speaking to an angel, but I haven't found a way to speak to them (maybe it was just flavor text!). Plus, initially I clicked on the "summon" button without assigning the card, because it was on top and I wanted to see what happens :)

Diner Dash by OgelGames 2024-04-16T19:32:08Z

I love the angry sounds of customers, feels like anyone who ever worked in service can relate :D Super fun, I'd suggest everyone to play with arrow keys + E instead, feels faster that way!

Summoning for Dummies by Ilinx 2024-05-03T19:43:29Z

I enjoyed your game! I found a funny bug - at first, I tried to check out how many of the basic creature I could summon and I spammed space a lot, getting tons of the runes to spawn and go off the screen. Afterwards, I used the runes from the flask, but no new runes would appear, and instead sometimes I would see them falling from the top of the screen outside of the flask, without me being able to click on them fast enough to use them. I think I created some choke point off screen because of my spamming, and it prevented new runes from falling in :)

She Will Rise by iaselar 2024-04-15T21:17:21Z

Haphazardly putting more turrets when a huge wave of enemies entered the tunnel reminded me a bit of good times spending on playing They Are Billions - would love to see this expanded with more paths and buildings to choose!

Blood Rite by LetsSnack 2024-04-16T10:21:45Z

Wow, a lot of work done for a short jam, congratulations! I found the assets super nice and had fun playing your game. Here's some feedback!

- I managed to level up a plenty and not have to worry about my health much, but I still don't understand the UI - I summoned some minions that had a cost (I think?) of 20, but the UI above it still showed amounts like 2 / 10? I thought it's the blood currency I buy them with. I just spammed my summon clicking in the circle while chasing rats and it worked :D - Tutorial screens are black, but I think it's WIP! - Tutorial says Arrow Keys, so I used them to move, which made it close to impossible to use the mouse :D got much better once I learnt I can switch to WASD - Ludum's window doesn't fit your game, had to scroll down to find the fullscreen button!

Devotion - A fairytale by daandruff 2024-05-03T19:52:58Z

Wow, loved the mood, audio and graphics! I got stuck right before unlocking the last item I believe, after trying to click on the thing in the crack from various angles and failing, I'm curious how it ends though!

The Saint Of The Great Sorrow by Jonathan Lorenz 2024-04-16T10:33:52Z

This was fun and very good looking! I admit I got stuck for a bit looking for the "magical stone" (didn't get that it could be the crystal!), but I managed to finish it :) There's also a fun way you could build this up on, like adding a horror element on your way to each items, something being mad that you're performing the ritual and trying to stop you.

The Cleansing by henk 2024-04-21T19:12:29Z

Really fun puzzles, I finished it and enjoyed the difficulty level! I also had the "camera jump" issue on the way to the second puzzle - I was hugging the right wall while moving corridor by corridor and sometimes it felt like I had a frame drop or sudden teleport back, and wasn't sure whether I was taking the right path. The only other feedback I have is that sounds were slightly overwhelming and annoying, I had to turn down the volume. Everything else - graphics, gameplay, the scare with the monster hiding in the corridors - was amazing!

The Cleansing by henk 2024-04-21T20:31:59Z

Win 11/Chrome! @henk

The Cleansing by henk 2024-04-23T20:20:12Z

@henk I replayed your game and haven't encountered this issue again (did encounter a monster in the maze in a spot where I didn't see it last time though so I got scared for a moment :D). I think your fix worked! I use Roccat Kone Pro mouse, so that might've been an issue.

Exorcist Pianist by Aviv Levy 2024-04-21T19:21:34Z

I used a MIDI keyboard (M-Audio Keystation 61) and had some issues at times with hitting the notes, for example when "ced" ghost was on the screen together with "da", I had to do ced first and couldn't switch order :) But I'm so happy I could use my keys to play a game for LD! Great job with graphics and the general atmosphere!

Exorcist Pianist by Aviv Levy 2024-04-21T20:33:25Z

@aviv-levy I tried to do "d, a" when "c, e, d" are on screen and nothing registered on them unless I played c, e, d first, on downloaded Windows build. Weird!

The Arrangement by Rudra Nil Basu 2024-04-21T14:31:20Z

The general mood with the (seemingly) no monsters to jump at us reminded me a bit of The Witness and similar atmospheric puzzle games where you feel like something is off, but it's just the combination of being alone with the ambient sound. Great job on the mood!

Euclid's Elementals by avareii 2024-04-21T14:11:04Z

Not me googling this because I suddenly forgot all my highschool education :D Clipboard01.png

SummonInn by Daxic 2024-04-17T16:56:40Z

This was really fun already, great job! I only got to level 5 and got my butt kicked by the trio, but I probably failed by not listening to the manual's advice of not overextending and investing in attacks instead. Would be fun if, in the future, dice "powers" total could be expanded, for a cost of more powerful (and costly) sides. Loved the asset work, the icons for each of the side were really slick :)

The Squidgy Trials by elvnish 2024-04-21T14:20:38Z

"YOU DIED LAWL" screen was great :D

I admit I'm stupid, I couldn't find a way to "admit defeat" and go back with my coins to buy the upgrades! I tried stepping on the portal and mashing all my keys, I though E was going to work, but it didn't :(

Summonion by KeithSwanger 2024-04-16T08:30:01Z

Nooo don't cry, I'm playing your game! ;( This was hilarious, and pretty fun once I got a hang on it! I found myself screaming at my onions "where are you going??? I need you here!" as I was trying to summon. I only wish the music was a bit more fitting the theme of what was happening, it was super cozy and comfy when I was running around trying to defend my spot!

Overall, great job!

Trace of guilt by Zastegnushka 2024-04-18T19:45:02Z

I really loved the scares, jumped and screamed at one! :D Honestly, I've been waiting for a game like this in this jam, I was actively looking for a good, classic horror title that I can get some spooky moments from. So thank you so much for making it!

My only feedback is regarding the texts in the game: there's a lot of text smashed into small space when it comes to letters, and intro might've been paced better by splitting it into 3 screens instead of fitting everything on one. Last but not least, "the spirit was able to force you to do this" is slightly off for a game over message - do what? I guessed we used the weapon on ourselves, but not sure!

Summon World by Itskdog 2024-04-16T12:27:30Z

This was super fun, I found getting 1000 currency for crack in the ground very challenging! My only feedback is that I found one error in the tutorial: - "Crystals can be add to tiles" instead of "added" :)

lol.png

Command: Summon by Gastar 2024-04-21T14:38:32Z

I think there's a typo in description with "summon princes" (I tested in the game and "summon princess" works) :) Really cool and innovative idea, loved the graphics and audio!

Spirit, are you there? by namnam 2024-04-16T10:55:30Z

That was super fun, I'd love to see a dating sim game based on this premise! LET ME ROMANCE THE ROOMMATE!

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Tiny Checkers by thyoi 2024-10-16T10:08:38Z

This is easily one of my favorite games from the whole jam. Awesome roguelite-y elements and SO many mechanics packed in a small weekend game - so impressive! Love the extra effort with nice animations and reactivity of everything I clicked on. Great job!

The Red Beetle Squad by Vidu 2024-10-07T21:22:28Z

I LOVE the graphics and music, great job on making everything look animated and handmade, including the UI! Also, SO many choices for character classes! I tried playing on a bit on the most populated server using multiple characters, finally settling for the scanner robot and doing multiple runs around the whole island trying to scan as many places as possible. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to help my island find a beetle. Could be that the island is slightly too big, or maybe this will play better with friends that have additional way to connect, like chat or voice, and synchronize our efforts :) Good luck to other players in locating the lil' thing!

Inside Creatures Out: What is your gaming MBTI? by CatZP 2024-10-09T08:47:10Z

This was fun, my real MBTI is ENTP and the gaming one seems to be ENFJ, super interesting! I thought the game might've been a bit too long for a jam entry, but I have to admit I enjoyed snowballing through enemies with all my added powers in the last few minutes. Really fun idea!

Inside Creatures Out: What is your gaming MBTI? by CatZP 2024-10-09T21:56:58Z

@catzp Yeah, if you have time I think it would be awesome especially for folks who can't really do combat well but want to enjoy the "story" (questions, in this case) :)

Maratus In Love by robin_schmitz 2024-10-08T18:51:29Z

Really cute, I love the spider's animations, sounds and music! Lovely idea with the jumping spider in general, I have a lot of them around the house and they're my favorite little arachnids. I think I found a small bug where after a while, probably after landing in a weird position, my spider kept on walking on front legs only with back feet in the air. It was a cute bug though :D

Minisaur Sanctuary by Aleux 2024-10-14T19:51:03Z

Great effort for your very first LD, this is a nice, finished game and I really hope you'll get more votes to get you to the finish line! Taming the dinos and bringing them back to the enclosure was fun and challenging at times, and being able to pet them and play with them after was a great added bonus. My only feedback for the current scope would be to make the sides of the fence a little more visible, because I wasn't sure if I can walk through them at first. But really good job overall!

Happy Birthday Logan by imberny 2024-10-08T19:04:14Z

Damn I didn't expect to feel big emotions while playing Ludum games but here you got me! That ending :((( If others struggle with figuring out how to finish the game, there's a YT video in the itch comments that shows what you need to do!

Blood Crux by Dmitry Kaidash 2024-10-08T19:13:04Z

I'm not sure if I found a bug, but later in the game by rapid going in and out of bat mode I was able to regenerate my health fully at once!

Cheddalier by outstar 2024-10-07T21:50:12Z

Thank you so much for your comments folks! As for Initiative, @lelulagames @hajpappan - this is great feedback, as Initiative rolls are more for attack chance in general: the side that wins Initiative scores an opportunity to attack the opponent. After each attack, another Initiative roll happens. Hope that helps!

Cheddalier by outstar 2024-10-09T16:57:46Z

@weirdbitgames Your leftover dice get boosted in attack and defense phase, so if you don't use them then, they become stronger! That's why it's sometimes good strategy to hit small in attacks and save a die or two to boost. Thank you so much for playing!

MonkePok by LetsSnack 2024-10-18T12:09:04Z

Really awesome graphics and audio for such a short amount of time! It took me a short bit to get acquainted with the UI, mainly because the left mouse/right mouse click tooltips were the same color as everything else and I didn't pay attention to them immediately. Also wasn't sure if fights are going through as I had to wait a bit for the hits to happen. But overall, the loop seems fun, and the game is an awesome effort for just one weekend!

Tiny Terrarium by dnich013 2024-10-08T20:41:05Z

terrarium.png

Honestly, I really needed this after a long day! Love games like this :) Found a small bug where delete highlight would linger on some items after going out of delete menu, other than that it's fantastic!

Tiny Turtles by RhysT 2024-10-13T18:17:50Z

That was really fun, more stressful than relaxing for me, which made a fun contrast with the music and ambience! I think I found a small bug (or maybe it was by design), but I was able to finish levels in Diverging category without keeping the "numbers" on ending flags in mind, I could just direct all turtles to one of the winning spots and it didn't change the outcome. I can only guess your plan was to give people the challenge of landing X amount of turtles in a specific winning spot, but it can be bypassed in the current build!

Deadly Trails by David-Liddelow 2024-10-10T20:13:16Z

This was really interesting and engaging, I felt so smart when I locked the spider from moving around with plants for the first time! Requires a lot of crowd control and RTS skills to beat I fear, I got stuck on butterfly level. Great job, my only issue was the music being slightly too repetitive, but I enjoyed the tune nonetheless :)

Gacharms by namnam 2024-10-07T21:34:43Z

I had so much fun playing your game! Collecting the charms was really fun once I got a hang on it, and the graphics and overall mood were amazing - it really felt like trying to get the cutest collectibles IRL. It's amazing how many different charms you designed and put in there.

Age of Honey by LuckyFeathers 2024-10-10T19:59:09Z

I LOVED how it immediately felt like Warcraft 2, with bees screaming commands when I clicked on them and told them where to go :) Really great job in working the RTS genre into this theme!

My feedback: - At least in my playthrough, it didn't seem like there was any confirmation of click on buildings - like, a circle showing up around them - so I sometimes wasn't sure if my click "went through" - It was sometimes hard to land a click on the main base to produce more bees - I had to zoom in and out and click at it many times for it to "hit" - Unfortunately around the time of upgrading the new base, I couldn't seem to be able to spawn more bees :( The money was taken by the system but no new bees spawned

Overall though, great job for the duration of the jam!

Gobblin' Goblin by DubiousDuck 2024-10-16T09:56:25Z

This is SO cute, I loved the intro tutorial goblin poking from behind the text screen like O o O !

The game was surprisingly tricky, and I think I got stuck at some point - after cooking the meal, I did the order wrong and instead of plating, moved all my goblins to the topmost floor and clicked on the door... they disappeared and I ended up alone with the cook :(

Something majority of LD games don't have time for (ours didn't have either :D) but that could improve this game is making the tutorial appear in stages, telling us what to do after we finish a task instead of giving all info t once in the beginning. I found myself going back to the Itch description to see what to do next :D

Amazing job on the graphics, and very cute audio too!

Tiny Apple by DocGeraud 2024-10-10T20:32:27Z

10/10 audio, I LOVED all the nu-uhs and kisses and other man-made sounds beyond comprehension! The graphic style and little animations were cute and quirky, the game made me feel good, overall, great job. And good pick on the resolution and general artstyle, made it feel slick :)

Fate of the Dice by Joror 2024-10-08T19:35:42Z

I think with some more work you could easily release this, very cool strategical depth. Also imagine the multiplayer!

LD57 — Depths

The chronicles of Mr. Marmo by Wouter52 2025-04-13T19:43:40Z

I really enjoyed the pipe minigame, that was fun! Finding pearls was a cool added feature, although I think it would be nicer to promote the highscore leaderboard a bit more (maybe directly in the main menu?) so we can understand early why we're doing this (gamification of the competitiveness :D). Loved the little audio bits, I wish they were longer! My main feedback is that sometimes it wasn't clear which objects were interactable and which were just visual clutter, like the little plants (?) triggering the puzzle to start - I stepped on many and didn't know which ones were the right ones to touch :) Overall, really nice job, fun that you coded it all in javascript!

Green Tastes Funny by JustCore 2025-04-13T19:28:55Z

I really liked the graphics and the general puzzle element behind the gameplay - once I figured out how the zombies appeared, I finally managed to finish it after three tries (spoiler tip for new players: don't have few exposed green veins in your surroundings, or else zombies may spawn and put you in a no-exit situation!). The background ambience set the atmosphere nicely, I wished the pickaxe sound was slightly lower so I could get more immersed into it. You could potentially expand it with a small health bar or some way to regain chances of survival, because one hit-insta game over was pretty harsh! Overall, had fun, screamed a bit, and really good job for the jam :)

De Profundis by Dis0rder 2025-04-13T20:57:27Z

Tried to download your game but unfortunately got the "virus detected" alert :D

De Profundis by Dis0rder 2025-04-13T21:07:19Z

That was very original style-wise, I really liked the general take on the graphics and audio, it sounded interesting and kinda "moody" when I went outside, so kudos for that! Some feedback: - I'm not sure if the mechanic of overheating does anything outside of just stopping us from playing for a moment - adding more difficulty to puzzles or how we approach destroying blocks with it would be nice, instead it's just "don't go so fast" mechanic :D - one small graphic issue for me was the difference of pixel size on character vs the background - the consistent size would look better I think, but the style overall was still really cool!

Tiny Tinker by ShadyShade 2025-04-13T19:59:57Z

Suuuper trippy and cool graphics, really liked the vibe that you put in there! The audio seemed to have a lot work put into it as well, with different music tracks changing with my playthroughs (I died a lot of times :D). The unreliable narrator was fun and I felt accomplished when I found all of the chalices (at least I hope that's how they're called!). Some little feedback below! - Some music tracks seemed more "excited" than the others, which almost gave me a vibe that something different is going to happen, so maybe bringing them all to similar levels would be good! - I think this could be a fun idea of a player vs narrator sort of experience, platformer games are awesome at telling stories like these, I vaguely remember Thomas Was Alone did a nice narrative thing with simple platformer mechanics, so maybe you could expand it this way!

Escape the Depths by Jhonny111 2025-04-08T19:30:00Z

Really high effort for a jam game, there's a lot to upgrade and do! Here's some feedback: - I think I could've gotten stuck with non-upgraded lantern pretty easily if I didn't get lucky by seeing the area with monsters right before I was about to give up - just hacking through map and not knowing where to go! - the game had a bit of a horror mood to it with the darkness and vignette and sound, so seeing the happy blob monsters was a bit of a contrast to that - maybe it would be even more impactful with some cute creepiness added, something like Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion? Thanks for making it! It was fun!

Cave Escape by Flinge 2025-04-13T20:23:17Z

I'm not very good at games like this, but this is definitely one of the "one more round!" titles :D Great job with graphics and audio, music was super fun! My only feedback is to maybe move the "best" sign to the wall, because in the midst of the game I was sure it's something I can jump on and I died to it :D

Fear of Sea by UnidayStudio 2025-04-08T18:48:05Z

That was a really nice game, good intuitive controls! The only thing I couldn't find (maybe I'm blind) was some kind of health meter or indicator how many times I can get hit, even if it's an overlay with some red to tell me I'm in trouble. But it took me a minute to notice the treasure radar, and that was a really neat feature! Good luck with the jam :)

Nike's House by Fireye 2025-04-23T18:36:40Z

I really liked the art and the music, managed to get the music to change with confidence drop to 0. I agree with the others that it would be better to have a much less polished but slightly longer experience showing what the Confidence mechanic really did (here, it looked like dropping it to 0 was actually a good thing!). For future version, I think it would be interesting to see what you do about that mechanic - maybe with different narrative outcomes (and no clear fail states!) for going very low, very high, or keeping the balance. Interested in where you take this!

Doctrines - LD57 Game by Riggen 2025-04-08T21:43:26Z

Beautiful color palette and artstyle in general, some images on cards really made me stop for a moment and appreciate them (the sad skeleton!). Some cards don't seem to work, and choosing a card in the middle of the two is difficult sometimes with the current controls. I'd consider fixing some bugs in the build if the programmers have time, but otherwise, it was a fun and really pretty experience!

Depth Cores by no_firing 2025-04-10T19:48:06Z

I kinda regret not getting to the later area because that last screenshot looks awesome :D I think it's a good base for some roguelite if you made the shop accessible, so we could get weapon upgrades and more! I believe this could pop well with the sound and music added, too. Good job and congratulations on finishing the game for the jam!

Tidehold by outstar 2025-04-23T21:00:19Z

@blubberquark I just played your game after the comment you've made to check, and you're right, we had very similar ideas! I love how we both made the houses under domes :D I couldn't quite understand how to keep building in yours, but I think it's because I kept on confusing the two games and waited for the timer to update my resources!

The Drop by Langotriel 2025-04-10T18:48:19Z

This game is an ultimate proof to how much JUICING the game can add to the very simple idea: the fact that you added voice acting (that changes with each playthrough!), the screen effect and music being synced with the moment we enter the cave was all too awesome to pass on extra rounds. My only feedback below! - Because of little color difference in between the rock and the ground, it was hard to notice at first where the entry to the cave is and which "hole" I should hit - The music and the general vibe is super 80s TV, and the ground color doesn't fit super well with this - gives off more of a Hunger Games vibe - so maybe with more colors and neon splashes it would work together better, but Hunger Games is also cool :D

Hello Darkness by Emsea 2025-04-10T19:05:40Z

This immediately reminded me of Return of Obra Dinn because of the shader and I fell in love with the mood and the graphics! Great job on picking the limited palette and the general visual representation! My only feedback below: - Tutorial would be great, I was lucky to have you in chat but I wouldn't come up with the quite obvious water-to-toilet idea :D - I couldn't really see water levels rising clearly until it was too late - I randomly clicked on the floor with the bucket in my last playthrough hoping I would scoop something out Overall, great entry!

Welcome to Veinridge! by jinglecookie 2025-04-25T19:32:11Z

Damn that cliffhanger! I really liked it, I think this could be a really fun detective game, and big kudos for all the audio you added to really enhance the atmosphere :) My only feedback is UX, which needs little improvement to be really tight: - Highlights on the maps on hover and some reaction on click, - Easier browsing through clues (the scroller was locking sometimes and I had to find the scroll and push it manually with mouse to work) - Quick-clicking on clue and people instead of having to always go back to "Pick person and clue" and then picking one

Overall, great atmosphere and looking forward to learning the rest of the story!

DUCKDEPF by Jona Scheidig 2025-04-13T20:53:28Z

That music was FIRE! it made me keep going despite constant horrible fails (them WALLS!) Really fun game, sometimes it was a little bit not clear where the collision started or stopped, and I got some frame drops here and there that made my heart race :D But overall, great fun!

The Depths of Magic by benjamm 2025-04-23T18:44:08Z

This was fun, I like the simple roguelite-y "pick one of three upgrades" before moving on, although it seems I had some pretty weak choices (never found the +3 one)! Here's my feedback: - Bottom collision seemed to be a bit wonky, with my character getting slightly stuck there with enemies once, - Spawn points are very tricky, enemies sometimes spawned right on me and I couldn't avoid taking damage - The music was fun and if I heard right, it was changing with the speed of the projectiles, but got slightly repetitive after a bit

Overall, cool game!

Animalia Memories by creekyasher 2025-04-10T19:26:54Z

That was one of the best jam entries I've played when it comes to mood, and the initial corridor with the TV set it up SO WELL! I really liked it, my only issue was drawing too many comparisons to Slender at the memory collection part and being too scared to follow the sound on the final one. Really good job!

BTW: Beneath the Waves by Aurel300 2025-04-08T20:01:58Z

I have no words except RESPECT! So much work done for a solo dev in three days, I attempted this once solo and I made a buggy 2D game, so I'm bowing down to greatness!

What I liked the most was the graphics, the jam in the background and most importantly - COLOR PALETTE! So nice to the eyes. Great job!

Deep Truth by Emily C 2025-04-25T19:39:59Z

this game made me learn things about Julian Assange, Keanu Reeves and IKEA that I never knew I needed to know, and now my toenails are receiving malevolent signals from CIA

it also made me play bass with the button sounds, 10/10

High Pressure Arena by HexStart 2025-04-13T20:36:00Z

I rarely have chance to play arena shooters on Ludum, so thank you so much for making a game in one of my favorite genres! It was a bit of a juggling in between mouse, WASD and space, but once I got a hang on it and learned how to turn fast, it became much more enjoyable :D I think a potential way to make it even more fun (but definitely out of the scope of the jam, so don't worry about it for the Ludum :D) would be to make other submarines attack each other too, so you can try to match with them and win the short-spanned deathmatch :D Great effort for the jam, loved the main menu music too!

The Depths of Planet Z73 by LanaLux 2025-04-08T21:46:39Z

+ Plus 5 STARS FOR CHROMATIC ABERRATION - Minus 5 stars for no LD link in the itch description... + Plus 5 stars for adding LD link to the description after the feedback! :D

In all seriousness, amazing work for the Compo time, I appreciated not losing resources or dying badly after stretching the time, and the general mood was amazing! My only feedback: - It was easy to fall in the pits later on, but I found an exploit to escape them (tap space furiously :D) - Subtitles would be great to better catch all the narrative-setting lines! - Music would be a splendid add post-jam!

Crabs in a Bucket by busisen 2025-04-08T19:14:16Z

I had so much fun, I mean, I played your game on stream multiple times as you've seen :D Here's a bunch of feedback! - There were some small physics bug, like enemies getting stuck on top of each other and boulders not reacting properly at times, - Boulder visibility rate lowering down with hits wasn't very clear, maybe you could make three different sprites with some cracks to show that they're getting hit - but I understand it was compo, so time was tight :D - Super cool item ideas, I wish some money was saved for next playthrough so I could test them out more :D - Little squares felt like chests or something important, so I tried to get them, but then they just disappeared :(

Thanks so much for the fun!

Net. Sweeper by Absolute Garbage 2025-04-14T16:14:17Z

Good news: your browser version on itch already works really well on Android, sans for font size (had to put some effort into reading level numbers :D). I would totally play this as a mobile game! Very good idea and it's super fun once you grasp the mechanics. My only feedback is, click through text tutorials usually don't work well and it's always best to show, not tell - but I get why you made it, as for the jam scope it's often the only possible thing to do, and I fell into doing this many times myself :) overall, this was great fun!

DeepFrame 9 by JavaSaurus 2025-04-08T20:15:01Z

THAT MUSIC THOUGH. Such a jam! :D Thank you for fun experience! Here are some feedback points: - I think the sound effects were a little bit too loud - they made the music drown in the game, and music was such a bop I wanted to stay forever in the main menu! - It wasn't clear to me what the dots were doing at first, so thanks for letting me know1 - Def intended for mobile - best to play when there's no way to click off screen. I recommend to maybe add fullscreen to enhance experience!

It's madness, my dudes by Keys Presser 2025-04-10T20:05:33Z

First huge plus - marketing. This copy was A+. And I say that working in marketing. :D Second huge plus - I always love it when I see obvious last minute art added out of panic, those water arrows were AMAZING :D This was a really cute idea, I loved the frogs, the harpoon and moving mechanics were interesting and kept me on my toes, I was super-focused, and most importantly, I bonded with crew - I really cared about their stupid little faces! My only feedback below: - Sometimes the line was flickering a lot when I was holding my cursor too close, - Some tiled/patterned background would be really nice! - Music had too little ribbits to it :D - Best potential addition: actual chatter of the frogs complaining on each other :)

Faith-e-vator by BadPiggy 2025-04-08T19:00:35Z

I laughed so much playing this and felt really empowered by suddenly not feeling bad at beatemups :D I didn't pay attention to the health bar, probably because it was the same color as the combo bar and the game itself was so intense, which made me not get how I was dying because I ran out time - but then I realized what I was doing wrong, still my record is bad 40 seconds :') Great job!

BENEATH by Friend_Pirozhok 2025-04-08T20:39:01Z

Great take on the mood and the atmosphere, I somehow immediately knew it had horror elements but it still surprised me when the *thing* happened :) My only feedback is that walking doesn't really seem to benefit us in any way, so auto-sprinting would be nice!

Down by Skyeward 2025-04-08T19:44:25Z

That was super cute and fun, you're getting big thumbs up for humor at the ending :D Some feedback!

- Really loved the cute art, especially in combat (I wish some monsters were cuter, make that snek lovely!) - Good use of the theme and choose your own adventure format, that was very quick to grasp! - I found a bug where animated text was pushing a word to the next line, making it hard to read (I believe it was right before the wolf combat), - Animated text was hard to read, but looked really cute in logo - maybe there's a way to mix and match and do static for longer texts?

Thanks for the fun!

Kika's Eggsplosive Descent by kazuo256 2025-04-10T19:35:48Z

A proof how much a leaderboard gives for jam games - I was really into trying to beat the odds, but it seems others went REALLY far :D Really fun game and I appreciate you for adding extra theme for the visuals! My only feedback would be to maybe go for a more planned color palette, so what should stand out stands out, given everything - including the background - was the same vibrant, there are tons of websites with really cool color palette inspirations that I usually lurk during jams :D

Money Maker 2025 by yancharkin 2025-04-14T09:57:05Z

The chiptune music was great, but I noticed it was all choppy in fullscreen for some reason - probably the engine's fault, given it had more browser issues! Overall good fun, but I seemed to have a gun and no button worked to shoot (I mashed all my keyboard buttons and only managed to turn the music off), and I'm not sure how it fits the theme outside of going down to the depths of recession... Alright, I guess that fits :)

The Mycologist’s Journal by magus77 2025-10-07T20:32:48Z

THE COWS ARE FORMING MILITIAS? NOOO! Thanks for making a mushroom gathering game, I was looking for those! I think I found a bug: you can feed more than one mushroom to the discovery cabinet, which just makes it disappear and you loose a mushroom. I wish we had a bigger starting inventory, it was hard to walk around and sell 1 gold worth of mushrooms while carrying a key!

Claim thy Land by ranejeb 2025-10-11T19:44:37Z

Easily one of my favorite games this jam gameplay-wise! I managed to get to around level 7 I believe, with 100 hp enemy equipped with four wizard towers, and I failed miserably :D My only two pieces of feedback: - Attack icon is a red sword which can be easily mistaken for a red arrow pointing down in small UI - for a while, I thought horse adds speed but subtracts attack! - More visible grid lines on the scroll would be awesome

That's literally it - you could easily add some more buildings and themed "years" and release it on Steam :)

Stamp Collector by Mamboman 2025-10-07T20:56:20Z

I love the designs of stamps and the whole vibe of the game. Really neat music too! I only wish we could later on arrange some postcards with the stamps we collected, or do some more non-time-sensitive tasks!

Astraay by Ace17 2025-10-07T19:58:29Z

I was able to download on Chrome with no problems! Game works great, the mood and atmosphere are great, I really like the ominous music. Unfortunately I couldn't finish it, because some areas were just too dark for me to see the way out - got stuck in between corridors with no light to guide me and couldn't fully navigate by sound alone. The sound from the nodes was helpful when I was close (rising in volume), but not sure if it was fully embedded spatially - I couldn't tell if it was coming from left or right, despite playing on headphones. Overall, great job for a jam and huge kudos for using your own engine!

A1 MAS Collector by Boncebon 2025-10-11T19:02:41Z

I really liked the textures and general atmosphere of the sewers, visually the game is stunning and screenshots immediately made me want to play it! I wish the scares were more of a buildup instead of jumpscares, these don't work on me anymore :D My main feedback is to change your theme on Itch to dark so it's more creepy to play!

How (not) to kill your cat by Thomas_Bringer 2025-10-11T19:15:34Z

Unfortunately not really on theme, which is a shame, because it's a really fun, beautiful game with a great idea! My only feedback is a bug report, really: in the first map, I think I had some sort of unresponsive clock bug for a bit which resulted in an instant from-safety-to-death with a loud jumpscare of all sound effects playing at once. Could be a memory issue on browser, but thought I'll let you know!

Hex to the Max by Beebo Studios 2025-10-07T17:41:12Z

Really nice and well planned graphics and a cool gameplay loop that made me want to try "just one more round"! :) I loved how many different tiles and synergies you planned. RNG didn't love me much, as I often lost because of no "Collect" tiles in the last few draws. My only feedback is that the animations of putting things down could've been slightly faster and snappier to allow for faster gameplay loop!

Recollections by benskca 2025-10-07T20:20:51Z

I LOVED the voice acting, great job putting the game to life (or unlife?) with it! The different movement mechanics surprised me and the game was getting tougher and tougher, with spine movement being quite manageable, but hands reminding me of Getting Over It game :D My main feedback is the font of the texts - it was difficult to read, but fortunately not too much of a trouble with voice acting present, might be more accessible if made easier to glance through!

Before I Go Blind by LesDremlet 2025-10-07T17:31:10Z

This was a powerful experience, the presence of a little girl with seemingly religiously fixated father made me really sad! On my first run, I did not get that I could move my camera off-screen to capture other people in a panorama, but seeing your screenshots I understood I missed something. The ability to browse the gallery throughout (or after) would be great. Overall, great concept with a heavy mood

Scalper Beat-Off! by chelC 2025-10-07T17:58:17Z

I loved the music you picked for this one, I was chilling in the main menu for a while dancing to it :D Great idea and really fun execution. I made my 6-year old kid play it and she loved it too (she's in her Pokemon cards phase). Your idea for enemies was hilarious, reminded me of this: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/7FZWovUTmL0

Guard the Forest by Phobos 2025-10-07T20:47:46Z

I couldn't find all the trash past night 5 unfortunately, walked all around the campfire (the one after the hill one) and only found about 70% of them, seemed to be nothing else :( But the game kept me on my toes, the dark silhouette was scary - at least up until I just walked through it and nothing happened, I became more relaxed afterwards :)
