Oh no, I'm a green thingy now!

Nice work, was pretty chill experience digging through the green stuff. Gameplay-wise, there was quite little there, but as a compo game, I'd say this is on the par - solid execution is always better than half-assed bucketload of stuff. :)

Simple, but so cute. Love the artstyle. Doing a Jam never is easy, especially when you restrict yourself even further (48 hours really is short). So scope is really a thing that one needs to learn how to control, and I'd say you are very well under way to do that. All in all, well done, you can be proud !

The best experience so far. Looks great, sounds great, has a good written text, a strategic component and well polished gameplay. I loved playing it.

Such a beautiful game!

I managed to farm 30 ore. It was tough, and I thought the game was finished—but no, 100 ore??? And after dying, the goal reset to 30... That was really sad. Monsters can spawn right in your face and kill you. Could use a bit more balance.

I was intrigued by the goal changing to "weird ???", and thought I got a bad ending, so I played through a couple of times to see if there was a secret I was missing. Ended up finding an impassable wall after digging in a straight line. Overall, it was short but well polished.

Also, I thought the audio was pretty good, but you opted out of the category?

@andrewkennedy Thanks for the feedback! Regarding the audio - some of the raw sounds were sourced from the internet, so I wasn’t sure if I should even be rated in the Audio category. That said, I did spend a few hours working on it myself, and even used FMOD to create some more organic-sounding effects.

The game feels polished for a compo entry. I found out that there is a winning strategy there - just stick to the narrow tunnels, then enemies can /never/ surround you, so you can always fight back a single creep.

I like the aesthetics and the story but the game becomes trivial if you just dig a one-tile wide tunnel. Monsters come only from one direction and cannot possibly hurt you. I don't know how to fix that easily though... Maybe if some monsters (ghosts) could walk through walls? Or maybe if green tiles exploded and also destroyed neighboring tiles?

Still, a very enjoyable game! I liked it a lot!

That was a really nice short experience. The gameplay loop was simple, yet it felt really nice to navigate and to mine. I could have continued even longer ^^

The atmosphere really got me invested. The sort-of fear of the unknown made me curious what comes next. And btw. props to your for the cover design! You took a long time, but it definitly paid out ^^

The simple, but well-polished game. There is a strategy to easily beat it - just dig a path one tile wide, and kill the green guys when they are behind you :sunglasses: nice job!

I really liked the graphics and the general puzzle element behind the gameplay - once I figured out how the zombies appeared, I finally managed to finish it after three tries (spoiler tip for new players: don't have few exposed green veins in your surroundings, or else zombies may spawn and put you in a no-exit situation!). The background ambience set the atmosphere nicely, I wished the pickaxe sound was slightly lower so I could get more immersed into it. You could potentially expand it with a small health bar or some way to regain chances of survival, because one hit-insta game over was pretty harsh! Overall, had fun, screamed a bit, and really good job for the jam :)

Wow, in 48 hours, goodness! I love that the enemies kind of hint at the game's ending, and speak of how it's all just an endless cycle of destruction and corruption. Nice job with this!

Really nice! It actually took me a few deaths to realise that the enemies are turn based and only move when you do! I was burning through it quickly so it just looked fluid. Only criticism realy is the choice of E to dig. On one hand the game gets fiddly! Wonderful entry though
