The art is very cute, but because you excluded that category from your rating I am guessing you did not make the assets. Even still, you at least have good taste. The models are all pretty cute and the colors are nice. It reminds me a bit of Katamari Damacy. The controls aren't particularly interesting and there isn't exactly a challenge or a goal. The experience would have been greatly improved with music and sounds.
I liked falling off the left side of the screen. The credits on the wall was cute. I didn't really care for the intro text--it feels unnecessary. I didn't want to kill the animals so I stopped playing when it became clear that was all I could do.
Pretty cute game. It would have greatly benefited from some audio. I didn't realize you could sell things to the shop by dragging at first.
This is pretty solid. The art is very cute. I do not enjoy the music. It is not very interesting and actually kind of annoying considering how short the loop is. I think the mechanics are kind of interesting, but the controls are a bit strange. I didn't realize you could climb walls at first. It would maybe be nice to indicate this with a different sprite. The death platforms can also greatly hinder your progression which is kind of interesting but I am not sure if this was intended. I completed the game. Pretty good.
Pretty cool. There are some problems with the physics--for example if you fall from a high distance you will go through the floor. It would be nice if there were more sound effects. The music is a bit repetitive but I appreciate the effort of adding/removing layers in the music based on game events. I liked the ending with the ball of yarn.
There are a lot of things here that impact the usability: - There is a lot of explanatory text at the beginning in a very unfriendly font. It is actually a very simple concept, but I am not sure why it takes so many words to explain. The all-caps monospace font makes it really hard to read. - The controls feel very unpredictable and unresponsive. I would sometimes lose the ability to do a single jump. If this was a mechanic it was not clear. - The restart level button takes too long to take effect. I would reduce the fadeout time significantly.
I appreciate that you took the time to include some sound effects. Many people don't bother. The sound effects aren't particularly interesting but at least they are there. If anything, I hope that making this game motivates you to practice making a platforming game in Unity!
This game is fine. I liked the art in the intro cutscene the most. I wish the hints / dialog in the levels had text with them because they are kind of hard to hear. I ended with just under 80 life tokens, it was kind of easy. I didn't really feel like choosing to open a chest or pay money to solve a puzzle was really a hard choice or a risk. The combat was basically the same for every enemy even though they looked different. The music wasn't very interesting. The animation for losing a coin is kind of awkward I kept thinking I could pick it up.
I don't think the poker mechanic is all that fun. I think more time could have been put into the music to make it a bit more interesting and less grating. I didn't finish the game because I lost interest.
There are some usability issues, but they are not that important for the experience: - I could not tell when a day was going to end. - Some of the choice buttons had keyboard shortcuts that didn't work (maybe that was supposed to be a goof?)
The sound was weird, which I enjoyed. The textures weren't as interesting.
I don't really think this is a very interesting concept and it isn't executed very well. The text is not subtle about the "meaning".
This game made me feel bad. I think it's in pretty poor taste to make a game like this in 2019. The slapping sounds are gross.
Not sure how this corresponds to the theme. The music is fine because it is strange.
You are probably young, so you have time to improve your sense of humor.
Nice visual aesthetics. The audio isn't particularly interesting. The controls don't feel super responsive and I often get stuck on the corners of blocks.
I can only hear audio... The game screen is black. Do I need something to run it in my browser?
I liked some of the textures. Some of the sounds are good.
@ComicSans Hi, there should be a door you can press the `down` key on to leave!
@trevor-shoe Thanks for the feedback. From your description, it sounds like you could have instead popped the "load game" ballon. Popping this loads the last autosave. The game autosaves on room entry, but I guess it must not be clear from the language...
Very nice, wish it had audio though
Nice. I really like the art. I like how sneaky the little spikes on the ground are. I also enjoyed climbing blocks with the scepter.
This game is not very compelling for me. It begins very slowly. I think it is a bit heavy-handed with the theme.
I should note that the music is way too soft and the sound effects are way too loud. I had to reduce my headphones to the lowest volume and all I could hear were the squishing and crunching sound effects.
The later enemies have interesting designs and I like the nude pixel art. The overall aesthetics of the game's art and music is fine but not my style...
Pretty brutal, but interesting. Nice audio and visuals! Handles the theme well!
I like how falling asleep in the first scene affects the second.
In the factory scene, it is a bit hard to tell that the red/green screen is grading the object that is leaving the screen and not the one you just smashed. Once you figure it out it is fine though.
This is fine. It is mostly just snake. The perspective of the camera makes it hard to tell if you are going to evade or run into a block. The camera should be closer to being top-down to accommodate for this. Also, when I broke a block, one appeared where the existing one was and killed me, which was kind of lame. The art is cute. There should be audio.
I didn't find the intro cutscene particularly interesting... The ghost sprites are cute. However, the game is not very interesting to play and is very repetitive. The music is not pleasant and similarly repetitive.
I love the characters and music! I wish there were sound effects!
Love the little guys and the pensive, optimistic music!
The frog is cute. The mechanic for interacting with the flies has a very unique feel. I liked getting the hang of it!
I wish there were sound effects!
@xlores-liang Thank you for the kind words. Could you let me know if any of the following are the case?
1. Do you have a gamepad plugged in? 2. When the "Good Morning Oswald" text appears in the intro scene, do you hear any music? 3. Looking at the developer console (F12), do you see any errors? (Usually red) 4. If you try clicking the game canvas once the intro scene appears, are you able to move the character?
Thank you for your patience!
Fantastic ending! I like the image you picked as the cover--that blood with the smile sprite is very good.
I love the characters!
Really nice! Excellent vibe! Ominous! Simple!
Interesting. The art and description have a Jhonen Vasquez vibe!
Excellent. I really love the sprites on the RPG maker tileset.
The music was great, and the characters were funny!
And this guy is my faaaaavorite.

Nice and simple. Very inspirational. I like the absurdity of the net upgrade.
I love virtual pets! This is very adorable. I like the UI a lot, too.
Very charming! The absurdity of the flower with a gun is great. The level-up mechanic is great. I really dig this. I wish it had audio!!
The art is extremely adorable. I love it very much. The music is cute too.
I cheesed the game on accident by first clicking Victor and then the indicated spot. I'm not sure if this is a debug thing left in or not...

The characters are adorable!
I enjoyed the unusual premise!
Inspirationally simple!
I won with 96% suspicion.
I appreciate the touch of the animals having different sprites for stages of growth. I love Tamagotchi. So this is a little like that but with butchery.
I like the art. Interestingly, the rock sprite is my favorite. The puzzles are quite easy, but still cute. I liked when I had to stack the animals in silly ways!
I love the character designs!
Nice, the critters are cute!
Cool. I like the punching mechanic!
I also like the motion blur.
Excellent, adorable, and very simple!!!!!
Looks really excellent! Love the characters. The "battle" mechanic is very interesting--something I have not seen before! I wish there were sound and more to do, but that is the nature of the time constraint I guess :-)
Nice job!
Cool! The main character and the monsters are very cute! I really liked acquiring the flames for additional light. The mushrooms slowly healing you was neat, too. I have no idea what the water did, and at low enough levels, I could not find any fountains to replenish it either! I wish I found more uses of the grappling hook!
Hylde made it home :-)
Pretty good. Moving diagonally is the secret weapon!
I like the "death" animation.
Attaching Bloodlust to Pawns is OP!
I appeared to softlock the game by beating Wyatt too quickly. It was on the scene where you find out that he is studying religion.
Nice aesthetic.
Gonna keep playing and give a review, but something that was suuuuuper confusing to me was that I got very stuck on this part of the mushroom!
feeback-igbi.png
Eventually I wiggled out of it, but yeah, maybe this is something you fixed in the 1.1 version!
Aw man, I ended up getting totally stuck here...

Aw, and on a later run, here:

This game has some cute stuff that I like, like the resource grinding and gambling (sometimes resources give you nothing, sometimes up to 3 things!!). I also like making so many piles of resources appear. Unfortunately, the grindiness doesn't pair well with the bugs where you can get stuck in stuff...
You made a lot of music for this. I especially like the "pipe area" and mushroom biome music. I wonder at what point in the competition you did this... I did my music on the last day and I was so exhausted that I found it really hard to get into it!
I really like the 2d character in a pseudo-voxel world with cast shadows. Makes me want to try to make a 2.5D game :-)
The font is rather illegible, but I find this charming. Also the weird inventory system is humorously very punishing: If you buy an upgrade, then store it with E, then drop it with Q, you can't seem to activate its effect with R. Kinda great, although I imagine it is a bug.
I also liked that your game was complex enough that you felt it required a guide. It reminded me of old school games. I referred to it while playing.
All in all: Nice job, I wish it were less buggy or had a button to get unstuck, though!
This was pretty great! Didn't realize that the eyeballs could be made solid, so attempted to solve the last level by just carefully timing the shots.
Very interesting experiment, music was cute! Nice job!
Dig the aesthetics! I do wish it were longer though :-) The mole is very cute!!
@qhboiboi I'm glad that you think that it is both cute and fun!!
@the3rdhunter I'm so glad that it comes across as unique and that the map feels big and diverse despite the time constraints!!
@absolute-garbage I'm so glad you love it! As you know, I have really loved your past two LD games!! And I also love Sylvie's games, so I'm glad that this reminds you of Sylvie RPG.
@youcarryoats I'm so glad that you enjoyed it so much!! But I am glad you were not late for work :-)
Very interesting and unique mechanic! The graphics, especially the character, are very cute! It is particularly cute when the character gets squashed while trying to traverse to an unavailable depth.
Got all of the apples!
Music was cute, too :-)
Cool ideas here! Nice and simple aesthetics! I especially enjoyed attaching the Repeat card and Powering up ^_^
It seemed like I was unable to attach more than 3 cards to a character? But maybe I was clicking the wrong spot...
Very nice work!
Nice! Love the tiny jingle that plays when your score is announced. Very funny :-)
Ba-bow!
Frog is OP :-)
Cool, I like that it became about collecting magnets! The ending was a cute little touch. Nice job!
The character is cute! And I like the "tink!" sound.
The music is very cute! I like the ending screens. I have only accomplished bronze so far.
I really love the character design! The constant shoe-horning of the theme into literally every piece of dialog is really good, too. Once I realized that the game plays at your own pace, I felt a bit overpowered. Some of the spells you have seem pretty creative! The dodge feels very nice.
Nice job!
Hello! I really liked this. Without recognizing your name, I was immediately reminded of your submission in LD56.
This is very good. It is very smart, but still playful. The minimalism is excellent. The music that becomes layered as you dig is great.
Hmm... I wish I could keep my gold after spearing fish so that I could buy upgrades. Maybe I'm missing something?
Being able to brake so quickly with CTRL is very funny and kind of interesting! Having to tap space to accelerate is a little painful for me, haha. I'm glad you took the time to make audio!
Nice job on your first compo submission :-)
I love your stuff!!!!! Loved Tamago Sweeper last time around.
The vibe here is really, really lovely.
The bullet mechanic is neat, and I really like the XP + leveling. Would love to see this expanded~
Very interesting, reminds me a bit of Michael Brough's stuff...
Very intimidating at first, but you get the hang of it eventually and get to feel smart :-) Very nice!!
Nice, a simple little game with an extremely relatable premise! I also beat it on my first try (this part was unrelatable!)
It would be cool if there were more actions the player can take!
I enjoyed the bizarre aesthetics!
Fantastic aesthetic! And you really decorated your itch page for it too :-)
The writing is pretty funny at times! Although, there are several typos which sometimes distracted me...
Like the other person pointed out, the cursor not being locked is an issue, but the inconvenience sort of added to the charm.
Nice job!
Nice job! Really love the player character, in particular the dive-bomb and hurt animations!
The enemies releasing balls of paint was cute, but I wish there were a little more to it!
Is it actually possible to reach the bottom?! If so, it would be cool if there were some indication of progress.
Fantastic! I was slightly disheartened when the game did not end after the "Staff of Tedium"! But I pushed through and got a delicious-looking sandwich. Very nice.
