Summoning Thing by JCMonkey 2024-04-16T04:24:11Z
Really interesting concept! I had fun playing this.

Really interesting concept! I had fun playing this.
(Fixed by dev) I don't think you have added downloads on itch yet? Really cute art, love the style
Creative! I had fun playing this.
i like the funny little dude walking
Really creative idea! I'm using the 0+x=x method. Upgrades are also very interesting. I do hope the typing can be easier, like if I can just type out 0+1=1 instead of using mouse click to switch boxes (maybe there is a easier way to switch box that I didn't know?). But also it's an incremental game, so manual typing is not that important afterwards.
Wow great aesthetics
Art looks great! Nice game.
brilliant name
I love this! The ending was scary and funny (chicken legs) at the same time. Really cool and edgy style, especially with the cute looking characters. Glad I got to play and rate this on the last day before the jam ends :v:
funny little game, intro scene and music is really great!
Great game, had fun playing this! Animation is cute and charming. Puzzles are interesting.
Good work! I really like this sort of computer app exploring games as well! (And mine kind of fall in that category too. Check our my game if you are interested!) But I haven't seen anything like this yet! really creative. I think you should put your game on itch too! So more people can play it, not just for LD. (did a quick search and didn't see it).
I enjoyed this game! Art and music are top tier. The idea and gameplay are very interesting. Really love games that put creativity into story and text, and not just combat and action.
Is that...Dva? lol, cool game, nice work!
unique and cool idea haha.
This is so much fun and creativity. I've not seen anything like this. I also love the jurors' character design, so cute and funny. Great work in every category/aspect.
@ollie-d what's that going to summon, i wonder
@goblinkingmatt beautiful
@drgcandle 😭😭😭bro, thanks for the compliment, I'm so flattered. 兄弟你是谁!我老妈都不会这么夸我。
@finde I'm so sorry to hear that. He has no appreciation for art.
I love this! Simple but super fun, perfect game for LD. And the little penguins and seals are adorable! The only little thing I wish could have changed is that the fish, fish bone and spike being the same color, make them a little difficult to distinguish.
I love this art
His tear makes me sad, but at least it's enormous! I always wanted to try a hidden secrets type of game (cryptic games), but feel a little intimated. This one is short and fun, so I'm glad to give it a try. I got to 995 (can't get the one above the *** and maybe there's even more?? the symbols below look like hints but I can't figure out what they mean) Love the characters, animations, sounds in this little world.
( removed old comment, the team addressed the issue )
@hidden61ade love it! strong art and atmosphere. Also really nice storytelling.
Great work! I love the sound effects and the humor. I feel the move speed is a little too fast though, makes me dizzy after playing just a couple minutes. Extra points for being a 3D game with html build.
@loco Yes, that is a bug, thanks for pointing it out! I saw that bug in the last minute. It's easy to fix, but I think I'll fix it after the jam is over.
@jemh2k @rodney-fan thanks! I enjoyed your games as well!
@hubol @chocolat-endive Correct, the game doesn't have any audio and sfx. I have no musical ability and always had trouble with this part in jams, so I decided not to worry about it at all this time 😅 (didn't choose opt out because the compo guideline said it's not optional, but maybe it just means you must have original sfx? not sure, but I don't mind getting the last place in that category haha)
@astrayrae I have not heard of that game! Definitely checking it out.
Wow the 3D physics or whatever animation technique you are using is amazing. The post it notes and sound effects are also very charming. The gameplay is also interesting (and very well made considering the timeframe). I personally don't care that much about battle. I feel I am happy with just a simple breeding and idle game, a virtual aquarium on my desktop would be lovely.
Beautiful pixel art and creative theme. The game’s sound effects and visuals really enhance the experience. Overall, good job on a delightful and enjoyable entry!
Amazing work! the unique physics and mechanics are super fun, and the visual look great
Cutest graphics! I wish it has a web build. Can't play on company computer.
The intro is fantastic haha. I love the dithering shader and the comic book style speech bubbles. Are those easy to do in JS? I have never seen those effects in other games before (getting tired of CRT effects at this point...), super cool. I feel the mushroom have a pattern? But I'm not sure, kind of confused but I guess that's the intention, so great work!
Super cool! And actually kind of hard haha. Definitely an unique interpretation on the theme. I remember playing your game from the last LD. Glad to play your game again, and hope to see you next time too!
Wow, great game! The control is super smooth. And I'm surprised by the variety of levels packed in this small game. An additional check point after the first actual platformer room might be nice, I feel that was the most difficult part of the game. The rest of the game felt a bit easier, or maybe because i got better lol. Also, I think I got soft locked in the water level in this location on my first playthrough. Can't jump out or die. Had to restart. Screenshot 2025-04-07 123437.png
Soooo clever and graphics looks so good. I would buy and play a full version of this. This is already more fun than a lot of highly praised puzzle platformers out there. I was stuck on the first use of the crystal mechanic for a minute, thought I was missing a key or something, but then the ahha moment came which was wonderful! This is my favorite so far, 5 in all categories for me.
Absolutely love this game! I got 300 mo and finished the boss. I think I explored the entire map but probably haven't revealed half of the secrets... This reminds me of Sylvie RPG, but I think I like this game even more than Sylvie RPG (especially the control and graphics style). Great job done! I hope to play more of this kind of games!
loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooove the title
I love this! The rule is simple and the mechanics are very well designed, everything tie together nicely so the play is very intuitive. There are some very nice designs that player won't notice, but are critical to the gameplay. I would love to play this on my phone. Seemed easy at first, but it actually require more thinking than it appears (for example, I sometimes forget that a one could be two diagonals). I only got to depth 5. You really need to forget your common minesweeper patterns and treat this game like its own puzzle, more challenging and fun than minesweeper. I feel it would be easier if players are allowed to reveal connected corner tiles because you can deduce those but sometimes not allowed to reveal them.
Simple and fun! But I'm not sure how to get out of the "beeping" block other than take a guess. My strategy is to clear as much horizontally as I can before digging down. But still need to take guesses. I also made a minesweeper game.
Very cool game! I like the voice acting and sound effects, really adds to the atmosphere.
@dhim omg, good catch! thank! I'll fix it. Bad math on me. :face_palm:
@christian-zommerfelds Played your game and love it! Left a review there. I think it makes sense to punish for bad guess in your game, because it has a more hard core puzzle game play style (maybe can allow player to restart on same level to be more forgiving? that way the progression would be more rewarding).
On the other hand, I think I should reduce my bullet count. My original plan was that player can supposedly kill all enemies on all levels (spend a bunch of time implementing the ability to go back to previous rooms). But now I feel only using the bullet for extreme cases might be better...
@hubol thanks!!! I saw your game right after you posted on itch, but had to wait after work to finish it. Absolutely love it! Writing a comment/feedback right now XD.
@thisyc Thank you so much for liking :point_right: :point_left: .
Yeah, definitely need to think of better ways to explain the rules, and maybe a check point at each floor  . Yes please use the idea and make more games! I took the multi-leveled mine inspiration from those game: Mamono Sweeper https://hojamaka.com/games/mamono_sweeper Cavern Sweeper https://hempuli.itch.io/cavern-sweeper Mamono Mower https://hempuli.itch.io/mamono-mow
@talif-moor Thank you so much for playing! Great point. My initial plan was that you can theoretically go back and forth to clear every single enemy as you progress because I enjoy games where you can do that. But there need to be more content and design for that to be fun. And now I think about it, it probably is better to have just enough bullets to proceed, so you save the bullets for extreme cases to make the playstyle more challenging. And yes, endless mode does have less bullet spawn rate than the first 5 levels.
I love the unique hand painted aesthetics. The terminal display is also a great idea. The card game gameplay is a bit overwhelming. I think I would love to play this if it's more like a pure terminal interaction hacking game (it's already technical so why not make it more so lol), or programming/puzzle game, the mood is right.
just chillin
Love the fishes! They are too cute. Reminds me of the restaurant management games I played as a kid, simple and fun old times. I find the screen shake a little disorienting, maybe can use it a bit less, only for more important stuff.
I got to the ending, such a unique concept, I think with more story this makes a great horror game!
This game is super addictive! I would play this a lot if it's made to a full game. I think a nice quality of life feature is to to check my current coverage area. It's a little hard to find all my towers after a while. Also a little hard to see the little dots/people and check who is unhappy after the map gets big. Maybe make the dots bigger? Overall a great game, I love those type of games!
I love this. I only got 5 levels (not in order), the rest I can't figure out. I selected my second level horizontally and found it quite hard, then I realized it was level 6 after completing it. I checked your itch page and found some other games that look really interesting! Will check those out when I got time. They all look great.
The art is so good, I was immediately hooked by the atmosphere. The dialogue is nicely written as well.
Great game! Very polished and fun. I like how you made the simple shapes feels super juicy, and the color choice is great.
Great game! The artist did such a good job. The style is so cute and the feedback is great too.
I really like the aesthetics here, very simple but effective. I see some people mention the UI/popup window, actually I feel this gameplay has a lot of potential to turn into a hacking(typing) game, allowing player to scan and transmit just by typing out commands. I feel that would be very fun and satisfying to play! Again, a very interesting game in general. Great work!
Great game! The atmosphere is so good! I liked the control, simple and clear, and it goes great with the art style. Personally I feel adding a stamina bar and death conditions would go a long way. With some map design and just a bit of story this would turn into a full game I want to spend money on and play.
Great game! I love the retro machinery art style! The audio also does great job. The game design is fun and complex. It is a little bit hard to understand even after reading the tutorial carefully. But it's understandable because the mechanic is somewhat complex. Maybe add a more in depth image + text explanation in the description just for now?
Mechanic is very fun! The game got too difficult for me really quick (plus I'm just really bad with games that require fast reaction). I think slowing down the pace would be really great, especially after new mechanics are introduced, where you have to switch color real quick.
This is super impressive! You made a whole language system and a game in such a short time. The pdf is really well written too. I also really love the art style, the characters and the world are well designed, makes me want to know what they are saying. As others already mentioned, a one page glossory/cheat sheet would be super useful.
This is fun. Initially I was like I feel I know what I'm doing but I can't eyeball the result, then I realized I did not connect the other end of the cable to the device lol. I played twice and both times the game got stuck after the second match (maybe a browser issue). Fun game! I really want to try the logic gates.
@havearollonthefloor You got the JFK ending! yes, this game is inspired by 60 seconds, I love that game!
@yueyao-wang you are the first person to find that ending, congrats! and yes, this game is inspired by 60 seconds, I love that game!
@alex-mulkerrin thanks! I would like to make audio sliders but ran out of time. Maybe I can just tune it down a bit for now.
@nathmate Thank you for playing! I'm glad you find the voice acting healful, they were added pretty quickly but I also liked the result! They were generated using ElevenLabs. I would have tuned them to sound better if had more time. By "This does not affect gameplay", I meant you can turn off the voice acting (in case some people don't like AI/robot voices). But you can still read the radio text to get the hints, just less immersive and more reading.
@deng Thanks for playing! Yes, I think with more time I would definitely add more variety of things to do, especially in the first 20 days. Maybe some missions to help others and get more items to be placed on the desk, and more endings.
@psycanic thank you! XD
@tykki19 Thank you for playing! Yes there isn't new content after day 20. There are 2 hidden endings before day 20 and I normally like to allow player to go endless if they choose to. Perhaps I should add a default ending on day 20 to hint to the player that there is no more new things to do afterward. Thanks for the feedback!
@mr-flower Thank you so much for playing through! and noticing the message haha.
@nikiroz @venomousmouse Thank you so much for playing!
@byte-bark @keysole @le-don Thank you for playing!
Nice game. The art and music choices are great, very spy feeling. The mechanic is simple and funs. The levels are well designed. One tiny suggestion: allow player to move with wasd, I think now it's arrow keys only? And mouse for interacting makes me need to switch hands.
I love the art style! And the gameplay is fun. The font in the tutorial is a bit hard to read but I like its presentation and the game is not too difficult to understand so that's not a big issue. Great game! Very cool stuff.
I got 2 girlfriends, yay great puzzle games with fun little secrets!
Yay, I passes all levels! I love the proposal level, the background actually changed based on my selection. I got it on my second try, so happy :D
I feel the way it currently gives hint is too easy (did other people not notice lol). I would prefer more text hints explaining the reasoning behind things instead of being handed the answer.
Pretty hard to learn, the mechanic is complex and interesting. Having high hp made it a lot more lenient, and sometimes I can find a way out just by randomly trying things. Personally I feel if player only has 1 or 3 hp, the level could be made easier but requires player to think more. And you can make very elegant puzzles that way. It would be more focused on the puzzle than the battle. I think solving puzzle better suits this kind of games. But I don't know, maybe it could also be battle focused and also very fun. Great work on making a complex system! Very interesting and fits perfectly into the theme.
Very cool aesthetic and atmosphere! The audio is also great! I'm not sure if I reached the top but I did find a texts/(secret?) in the middle of the building.
The mechanics is very fun and creative to play with! This game needs practice and skill to become good at (sort of a typing game? But more than just typing because you also need to use mouse). Some small suggestions from a personal pov: I feel switching lanes with the arrow bar would be more intuitive, or w for up and s for down because arrow bar and mouse are not compatible. Then the color can be r for red, g for green, etc. Like in the typing game Cook Serve Delicious, foods are represented by their initial letter which make them really easy to remember and fun to type with. Anyways, really fun game, I love how besides typing, you also have to do different shapes with mouse which adds a layer of chaos. I didn't care too much about the select upgrade part though, maybe because I didn't want to read, just wanted to get back into action.
I mastered the skill of bullfighter. Hint: Keyboard is a lot easier. (Amazing art!)
