There is WAY too many of the aiming enemies at one point. Impossible to get past that. I love the mechanic tho. Would also love it enemies of different colors could hit and destroy each other.

Hi @xientra, thank you for your feedback! Yea, that part became a bit too hard. I move some of the units around. Hopefully this a bit easier now.
I really love the graphics and sound effects! It’s quite a challenge, though—I played three times and my high score is 450!
Quite clever side scroller! I like the color switch dynamic. I have to say i found the game quite difficult, which can be a valid design choice. However some of the difficulty came from the enemies having what felt like inconsistent triggers, this makes the projectiles hard to predict, which can be a bit frustrating. I would really like to play this again with reduced difficulty. It however is definitely possible that I am just bad at side scrollers!
Hi @grummelchen and @accelerate0814, thanks for the feedback! I did some adjustments and hopefully the game is easier now.
Good job! I like the switching of colour, it's clever. I would have liked to be introduced to the mechanic in a easier/quieter setting, now it was quite hectic on every respawn. The game starts out at quite a difficult level, which some might like, but made me a bit frustrated.
Nice work. I like the design. Challenging, but fun.
As others have said, I found the game to be quite difficult, but did appreciate the consistent checkpoints. The color change mechanic is neat, and I like that it's only the projectiles of the same colors that don't hurt you, but the ships still do - adds to the difficulty and made me have to approach each section more carefully. Nicely done!
As someone who has enjoyed Ikaruga, I liked this game!
If I had to pass along one criticism, I really wish there were SFX for enemy shots and for absorbing bullets. The lack of sound effects from enemies firing and from absorbing bullets makes the game feel a bit too quiet, and it would really benefit from that feedback.
Otherwise I thought the sprites were effective and the scrolling felt nice. I also think you could improve the visuals quite a bit without too much effort by adding some parallax, like a few star layers moving at different speeds, maybe even with a bit of twinkling.
Simple and effective concept. I really like the background music, maybe the sound of the shots are a little too loud !
typical Ikaruga game play. Some of the designs around gameplay are quite interesting. Slowing down the bullet speed of the enemies, increasing the number of enemies, and boosting the character's shooting speed can make the game more enjoyable. Besides, the music is very pleasant.
Mechanic is very fun! The game got too difficult for me really quick (plus I'm just really bad with games that require fast reaction). I think slowing down the pace would be really great, especially after new mechanics are introduced, where you have to switch color real quick.
And I thougt my game was hard, but this one way harder. The color mechanic enabling quick color swaps is quite engaging. Overall, great job.
The color contrast is very strong. First, you need to focus fully and try not to make any mistakes. The difficulty level is quite high. If there were more sound effects feedback, I think it might enhance the experience even more! However, these are just my personal suggestions. I think the current completeness is already quite high.
Fun game and cool concept! The ship movements & sfx could be a bit better, but I had a lot of fun! :)
Oh wow that was brutal. Really enjoyed this and appreciated how it felt like there was not really any randomness and all the (hundreds) of deaths were my own fault. Really enjoyed this entry
Tricky game! Timing the changing laser colours was an ingenius little mechanic. Solid entry that I enjoyed every moment of!
I want to start by saying that I really liked the game’s Ikaruga like, since I’m a big fan of that kind of gameplay. I also loved the glow and colors of the starships, they looked really cool and made the game very visually appealing.
If I had to mention one thing, I think maybe making the player die in one hit is a bit too punishing sometimes. The checkpoints definitely help and are appreciated, but there were moments where it felt hard to actually fight enemies instead of just focusing on dodging everything.
Great work overall, keep it up! :space_invader:
