I had fun playing this, cool to see the cakes come together! Nice job :)
Pretty cool game with a lot of nice art. I like how everything is automated and it seems pretty hard to get everything working so congrats on finishing. Some Ui could be improved and the gameloop could be a bit better, but overall nice job!
If I had to describe this game in two words, it would be Very Cozy. It reminds me of what I consider to be the golden era of mobile games, high quality chill experiences that don't follow traditional gaming conventions. On my first playthrough I softlocked myself due to not understanding how to control the Fairies, but I figured it out the second time hahaha, I'm not such an epic gamer. Overall I think the concept is great, using Fairies as bakers is a very clever and cute way of interpreting the theme.
The game is super cozy and cute! I was a little confused at the start but once I started making things it started making sense. There was a little bug were when I tried to decorate a chocolate cake the fairy used a vanilla cake for the top, but other than that it was super fun! I loved how everything was automated. It worked pretty well although it was just a little bit slow.
Really cute entry, I loved watching the fairies move around and bake
Very pretty game, nice art :) Would be really cool if you could zoom in a bit on the little guys while they chop away :) Nicely done EDIT: Just realized you could zoom, so nevermind! Nice work :D
Great game, I love the cozy look and music feels very homelike
I like cooking so much, and cakes to, it was great to play, I liked it sm
It was hard to figure out how to make a cake, but the game is very cool
@rachelftech @frozenfire92 @halogen Thanks for playing!
@sevadusk I had hoped to get some *actual* gameplay in but sadly I ran out of time (of course) xD This was my first time attempting an automated/simulation type game and it was a lot more involved that I had hoped haha
@scrumblob Sometimes the fairies will wait on a missing ingredient but they will keep going when it becomes available! But I do love to make less traditional games that have more chill/cozy elements to them!
@saprina289 I was trying to think of ways to make it quicker but due to time I wasn't able to get multiple fairies to work on a task together, so ultimately that slowed things down a lotttt
@nickhellquist I'm pretty bad at UI design so I could have done a better job of making it clear you could zoom in! I spent a few too many hours working on camera controls and had to abandon my original hope of having an in game magnifying glass to see the fairies, and not have them visible in the zoomed out view.
Thanks for the feedback \o/ keep on making cool games :3
Good job! Cakes look yummy!
My fairies were quite lazy. xD By the end I think only 25% of them were doing something while everyone else were too busy pretending they're not in an idle state.
One of the fairies struggled with this so-called "unhealthy attactchement syndrome". I miss the lime. It never reached the cake, what a terrible way to go.
The cakes (the foundation of it?) were the bottleneck of my production line. Is there a way to boost its production?
The good part about this game is attention to details. Like cakes actually getting into the oven, the workers being lazy, those kinds of things.
I wouldn't call this game hard or having a bad UX, it's alright. But the player must read some text during the start. My game also relies on the player reading some text to understand what they're expected to do, but ~25% of people struggled anyway. :D I can clearly see the effort to make the early game less frustrating to the player: you start with less fairies (may I call them units, please? ok, I won't :D). It's a good step, although they started to appear while I haven't finished reading the text. xD One of the fixes for that could be trigger, e.g. when the player does something explained in a tutorial (they create a complete cake), we start the fairy spawner; otherwise it can be turned off during the starting sequence. This way, even a slow reader can have more time to kick in.
I liked the notifications system which tells you what you're missing! It's useful and it's a level of polish you rarely get in the jam games.
I was frustrated a couple of times when I couldn't get out of the bowl. :D It just wants me to commit and doesn't let me go without making a cake. I think I wanted to re-check which kinds of cake foundations do I have/cook right now.
I don't know whether any of the cake parts affect the prices or not. But at any rate, I have a feeling this game is more about looking at different cakes than doing actual economy (because look at these cakes, they're cool). Although my headcanon is that if you sell the same cake multiple times, the demand goes down and you get less $ for that exact cake for a while. Perhaps something like this was already implemented, but it was hard to test without repeated cake design production. I would do that, but my fairies seem to have stucked and the cake foundation speed production dropped so much I had to cease the operattion.
I recorded a video of myself playing the game, perhaps it could be useful to see how a random player would interact with the game.
Also, I wish you more ratings. I came here from the post you created, but you don't have to play my game in return. You can spend this time playing the games you find more interesting for you personally; besides, I already got my 20 ratings while some other games may need these ratings more.
Upd. - why can't I rate graphics? :D It's one of the better looking games so far. xD Alright, I'm including this score into the "mood" zone (nobody knows what it's for anyway).

Nice pixel art, the fairies and ingredients look great! I wouldn't have known you were new to this if I hadn't read the description.
I like how you decided to show the instructions, it made the baking process pretty straightforward.
It's unfortunate that you ran out of time to complete your initial idea... Maybe you could try to make a post-jam version, it sounds interesting.
Also, playing this game made me so hungry, damn.
My best cake slices:

Quite fun! Captured the feeling of a bustling bakery really well. Surprisingly not too hard to figure out.
Nice art and cute idea. I enjoyed it! It would be fun developed into a full game with specific goals, or balancing profit with costs to maximize efficiency (are the fairies paid? :P)
The art and overall vibe of the game is super cute! While there isn't a whole lot of interaction, I can appreciate the care that was taken to make the sprites and the overall mood, feel comfy and cozy.
great work!
This game was super cozy! I loved the idea of having little fairies to help you in the kitchen. I was kinda overwhelmed by how much there was to do but then realized the fairies are there to help out and fill in the gaps ^^ It was lovely to experiment and make nice looking cake slices. The are in general is really good. Great work on this entry <3 I could see it being a nice switch game!
This was such a cute and fun game. I love the little fairies! I see so much potential for additional work!
Very cute and great pixel art. I admittedly only really started to get the gameplay after clicking around a bunch randomly. It would be really cute to route the fairies by dragging out their path and tasks a la pikmin but cute simple gameplay regardless
most cute game played so far. And I feel hungry now, nice work
Thank you for this wonderfully cozy baking simulator! The animations are absolutely delightful and add so much charm to the experience. I couldn’t get enough of them! :)
I love this art
Oooh, I really love the art style and especially the little animations on the fairies! I really love the theme and idea of the game and I think there were a lot of different little mechanics and behaviors for the fairies???
Personally thought it was a little hard for me to tell what was going on even with the text but that could just be a me issue!
I also think some kind of timer or different use of the money could have been really cool(maybe I missed this though) I can totally see a larger scope version of this game on my phone or pc with upgrades, decorations, hiring workers (with personalities, I could totally imagine the different workers even getting into feuds with each other, workplace drama or something like that!)
I also want to ask if you made this all by yourself. Cus It's really cool if you coded drew and made all this stuff in only 3 days! That would be super rough for me for sure!
Oooh, this is really delightful <3
I really like the way the instructions are being shown. Would've been cool if there was a toggle to switch between showing and hiding them. You know, for screenshotting reasons etc
Really nice (and detailed!) pixel art <3 I was somehow reminded of the old Sims 1 games, which I really liked. Ah, sweet nostalgia haha
I can totally see this being further expanded on.
Really lovely take on the theme :)
You got so much done in such a short time span!! Congrats! It would have been even better with something like little missions (to make you feel like you're accomplishing something) & more options for filling & cake flavor, but it's already nice to play it as is 😊.
Good choice of art style, it fit the cozy vibe well. I was unable to complete a cake because all my fairies kept running off with the cherries. I'm starting to think fairies are terribly addicted to them. I understand, I love cherries too, but I have a business to run! In general, I had a bit of trouble getting fairies to do things. I'm not sure if I misclicked, or if cherries were busy or what. Some sort of player feedback would be nice, maybe playing a sound when a fairy correctly receives a command.
A very cozy and relaxing game. The pixel art really touches the soul, the fairies are just the cutest. The music is very appropriate. Some fairies really flew around doing nothing, but I felt like a child while making cakes with the fairies, thanks for this experience :З
