LD22 — Alone

Accident by AbelToy 2012-01-08T23:12:00

Haha, glad I didn't read the comments before playing this, I was totally expecting something different XD great idea

Lonely Dungeon by eerongal 2011-12-24T14:16:00

The theme is certainly present with every treasure you find =D
I like that the conditions to get the two endings are in complete opposition to one another and change how you have to play.

The player does move really slow, but really it is an incredibly small maze so I don't think it is too bad.

Last breath by deepnight 2011-12-24T16:45:00

Oh this is just awesome o_o

I love the look, the dog is adorable, the shadow mechanic is great... it can be repetitive when you die a lot, but a checkpoint would have ruined everything, so it is understandable.

Alone by DivideByZero 2011-12-24T14:30:00

Like the notebook drawing style. Not the most original thing, but it works well.

Follower by bobbobowitz 2011-12-24T14:57:00

Would be nice if the plot/controls was conveyed to the player in-game. It also throws you in at the deep end a little too quick, the player needs to understand through experimentation how high your jumps are etc. before you start putting in insta-death pits and collapsing ledges. Unless you're going for "I wanna be the guy" kind of gameplay, I guess =/

Once getting the hang of the controls it was getting fun, until a glitchy hook-belt blocked my path in room three - http://black-moth.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/conveyor.png - I think AyCe is experiencing the same problem.
I got over it by walking over the top of the level from the start, but a few levels later the shadow figure is waiting in a large closed room (kind of looks like a megaman boss room), walks to the right through the wall and... I can't follow him so... game over? I guess? Is that meant to happen :/

They Hunger by Cell 2012-01-04T18:00:00

Aghhhhh! I got to one left and then died looking for the last one ;__;

Awesome game for your super limited time D:

Parcel Walk by feyleaf 2011-12-24T15:04:00

Funniest entry I've played so far =D

A rather Lonely Darkness by pireninjacolass 2011-12-24T15:23:00

Fun game, as others have said, some of the graphics aren't clear enough like the dark grey walls in the first cave/mine area - I thought it was just a different coloured floor, espec as the creatures on the other side were trying to get at me through it! Aside from that much fun!

Mini Blue Box Boy by Mr. Wonko 2011-12-24T15:35:00

Maybe... tell the player they can wall jump so they don't feel dumb getting stuck in the first level? ;_;

Pretty solid gameplay, I assume you ran out of time to make more levels using the physics objects that are only introduced at the end? Shame cos I think they could have been used for some interesting level/puzzles... Ooh a level editor... :D

The Break by tayron 2011-12-24T15:46:00

I got to the end after much frustration with the jumps (occasionally performing super jumps, combined with spikes and tiny platforms = ow) - the end said "something unexpected happened" on a white screen... but it just seemed to stay on that screen =/

Village Bastard by Orangy Tang 2012-01-07T16:33:00

Excellent, perfect level of challenge without getting frustrating, and nice twist on the theme where most games seem to have you being alone and looking for people :D

Leaf me Alone by AyCe 2012-01-08T14:01:00

Once you start growing your ammo supplies, the game gets really good and somewhat tactical, and that happens pretty early on... so, that's good :P

5 DAYS by matthias_zarzecki 2012-01-04T18:37:00

Good atmosphere. If there was more to do each day, unique puzzles for each day kind of thing, then this would be great.
I have no idea how to save the cat so I ate it :|

Carry Meow Home by Luthwyhn 2011-12-24T16:21:00

Is there some way to know which way mommy is? It an awesome idea, but its hard enough trying to get somewhere nevermind not knowing where somewhere is :S

I did eventually find her - couldn't quit the game and leave the kitten alone D=

Arzea by arkeus 2012-01-08T15:02:00

Awesome game! is there a #4 weapon? I didn't seem to find it =/

Puppy Shelter by increpare 2011-12-24T17:11:00

You are evil, and this is awesome :D

Alone in the Gloom by hulahulahest 2012-01-07T16:44:00

Good game, this could really be awesome if developed with more puzzles, music etc =D

First by JH 2011-12-24T13:51:00

I'm not sure how 'alone' I felt, swimming around the world with 30 clones, but the atmosphere of the game is certainly very good. I felt kind of bad when I noticed that some of my spawned lifeforms were actually dying :(
Good job!

Alone in the clouds by Cowbox 2011-12-28T15:30:00

I got completely stuck and watched the timelapse in the hopes of figuring it out, no luck :) Got as far as collecting the note, clearly a lot more after that... pretty enjoyable, I ended up 'wasting' a lot of time trying to figure it out :D

StarDrive by Thief 2011-12-28T15:54:00

Assuming it isn't, then it's pretty fun. Is there an end to it? If the Jumper is supposed to be waiting for his drive to warm up or something, a timer would be nice. I can understand not wanting to put in a health meter, but some kind of visual response when you are hit would add a lot I feel (explosion/screen flashes/ship flashes/whatever). Getting upgrades is fun, I like how they add to the ship structure rather than just improving your stats or such =D

Alone amongst Kittens by Rylius 2011-12-28T16:37:00

Ugh - on third try I got to the rocket building stage and the cats just glitched their way through it and killed me, after spending so much time mining the metal I really don't want to try again. Why not disable the death condition when you know the enemies can walk through walls and make the game unfair, at least then we could play to the end =/

If the collision problem was fixed though, this could probably be a fun game.

Alone with... things! by codeapparat 2012-01-04T17:41:00

Really good, I just wish there was more furniture to interact with =D

We Are Alone by Tifu 2011-12-24T13:25:00

Thanks for the comments everyone =D

@Pitzik4: It was coded in Blitzmax, which apparently can compile to Windows/MacOS/Linux, but I can't compile to the other systems without running that system myself it seems - if you don't mind the effort, you could probably download the Blitzmax trial version and compile it yourself, sorry about that D:

We Are Alone by Tifu 2011-12-24T23:12:00

Oh my bad, I just assumed they did because... well, why the heck wouldn't they? Bleh :(

Goodbye by elektron 2011-12-28T21:52:00

I also had problems moving and jumping at the same time, managed to get to the end but the "That's why I have to do this" room was really hard because of this =[

Good atmosphere to the game, I'll have to try again to find the kitten :D

Frostbite by saint11 2012-01-04T17:02:00

Oh, that was awesome :D

Minor bug, in that as the text seems to center itself above your head, if you read some dialogue when you are to the left of the screen, it can appear with some text missing off the side, or it did for me anyway, with some text about mines being placed. That aside, great atmosphere and gameplay!

Insanely Awesome Physics Saga by Merrik 2011-12-28T22:06:00

High points for innovation, a fun way to get around levels.

LD23 — Tiny World

Save the tiny world! by davidllanos22 2012-04-23T12:40:00

Fun game :D
Achieved 10/10 saved once I realised a good strategy for keeping people safe/trapping pigs :D

The Little Glitch by Kroltan 2012-04-24T17:21:00

Pretty good little puzzles, but the jumping section is awkward with the controls/mouse. Wasn't able to progress past the tiny jumps =/

Skully's Microscopic World by Skully 2012-04-26T10:18:00

The red ones seem to be spawning randomly even if I keep the walls clear... maybe I'm missing something, but I just seem unable to get the numbers down, the bacilli stays at 100, I eat one, and another instantly spawns somewhere keeping the number the same at all times =/
Good concept, good interp of the theme, can't get much tinier than this :P

The First Frontier by Nickardson 2012-04-27T08:59:00

Awesome! Wish there had been more levels :D

Flight of the Ladybug by robcozzens 2012-04-26T11:13:00

Agh, it's just like those Donkey Kong Country Returns levels I hate so much, except this has better controlling, so way to go! :D I really like how when you die the camera points back to the start showing how far you've come, nice touch.
1623 was my best score!

Astro Gardener by HeyChinaski 2012-04-24T11:29:00

Great idea, spot on with the theme. The only problem with it is those dang red spiky things... you need some better way to avoid them, they're just on you to fast when you're speeding around with a vital ice rock in your hands,if the camera zoomed out, or at least moved ahead of you a little, that would improve things greatly :)

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-04-25T09:28:00

This is a really great idea. After a few plays I realised that I didn't really need mana at all though, so long as your important buildings are protected, its not really a necessary resource. I suppose you could play with different tactic than mine though. Great art, catchy tune too :)

Soul Searchin' by MaximSchoemaker 2012-05-13T14:36:00

That mechanic is so awesome =o
Great job

Tiny Island Adventure by AdventureIslands 2012-05-13T14:25:00

Pretty good. I occasionally got stuck on the floor (pressing directions didn't make me move, had to jump to get unstuck), not sure what was causing that as it seemed to happen on random flat surfaces, not just transitioning from wood to rock as others mentioned.

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-04-26T11:45:00

This is great! There's some odd stuff with layers where tiny timmy seems to disappear behind things in the background even if he's on big bill's hand in the foreground, but minor issues. Awesome stuff! The little flies itching for a fight animation is lulz

When Worlds Collide by AlwaysGeeky 2012-04-24T18:30:00

Looks awesome, blowing up the planet entirely IS satisfying, but feel like it needs some extra challenge or something

Tiny Galaxy by devince 2012-04-24T10:19:00

Downloaded, extracted files... I have no idea how to start the game :P I do apparently have java 1.6 installed

Tiny Galaxy by devince 2012-04-24T21:17:00

Ah, that was it, the file had been renamed while saving it! Never encountered that before.
Fun game! I got 54 points, I think I got more than that on another try, but I pressed H thinking it would pause the game but apparently not D=

Greed Wars by IgnatusZuk 2012-05-04T20:38:00

Would be awesome if it wasn't so easy, I was having to put limitations on myself to try and get a challenge ("ok... this time: barracks are forbidden!") Great idea and execution aside from the difficulty though :D - the coloured segments growing as you expand your area is a real nice touch.

Five by Five by eventhandler 2012-05-06T21:59:00

Really good concept, if you implement the things you mentioned not getting to this could be a really great puzzle game =D

Recluse by chambers 2012-04-27T10:08:00

Genius mechanic! Never seen anything like that before =o

Tiny World Racer by Kinokochan 2012-04-25T14:14:00

The road looks incredible, but the lack of even simple animation in the drivers lets the graphics down a little.
Though I tried to make a 3D race kart game once and completely failed even without a time limit of 48 hours, so I'm incredibly impressed :D
Having a randomly generated course is awesome!

TinyNuke by nixeldev 2012-04-25T14:24:00

60,000 was as high as I got :D Fun game, love the sound effects =D
MarekkPie: I think that might have been intentional - the further away the planet is you shoot for, the more map-time you get as it spins through space - rewarding you for going for the more difficult shots, effectively. I thought this added some extra depth =D

Full Circuit by JMRante 2012-04-24T12:56:00

This is a really great idea, and I want to play through it so bad, but the stakes are just too high for the slightest failure D:

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-23T13:32:00

Nice game! Good atmosphere.

There is a Picture by MortisGhost 2012-04-25T10:15:00

Different planets gave a few laughs :)
The "puzzles" would have been pretty good if they had been more open ended, but I guess that is too much for this many objects and this little time... ah well D

My Little Dungeon by thegreystudios 2012-04-25T10:35:00

The theme does feel rather forced in :P Regardless, it's a good little game - with some more variety in the gameplay it could be great. Maybe some pre-existing rooms containing minibosses, more variety of rooms to place, maybe some that require rarer resources you have to find and so forth...

Evolve by jerombd 2012-05-06T22:16:00

Fun game, great graphics =D

Tiny God wants a Bigger World by Thotep 2012-04-25T09:57:00

Expanding the land works great, good idea, but I don't see how to play the game when the red monsters just slaughter everyone too easily. I can slow them down by turning land into water, but as the objective is to build land... that just ends up hurting me D=

Planet Trot by Logan 2012-04-23T13:40:00

I have no idea how you did this, but it was awesome D:

The Two of Us by ekunkeo 2012-04-24T10:35:00

Cannot beat dragon ;_;
Great game and graphics regardless of my inability to win :D

Cruel space by Stalker_23b 2012-05-05T12:12:00

Pretty good gameplay, I can't get very far though =D Love the visuals

Robot in the Garden by Gaeel 2012-04-28T15:41:00

I like the idea of re-using the same tiny area for different games to emphasise the tiny world theme, shame you hadn't got more done :(
Graphics and atmosphere are pretty awesome

Tiny Galaxy by Robert Swan 2012-04-24T13:29:00

I'm only getting as far as ghRibacki did, but this is an awesome little game and I will definitely keep trying :)

Tiny Galaxy by Robert Swan 2012-04-27T10:37:00

Whoo! Thanks to v2 and one quick look at the spoiler sheet for the last item I am victorious! (How did I not find that last one!? agh) could not have beat it without v2 though, no chance, thanks for putting that up =D

Atom Planet by NMcCoy 2012-04-28T16:47:00

Fun! I totally cheated (who opens crates that way???) but regardless, good concept, theme and awesome music!
The water acts oddly though, the rain flooded an area I had made between a rock and an empty jar... the water couldn't flow around the jar? It destroyed a seed I had planted :(

Aether by Danik 2012-05-13T14:48:00

Great idea, like others I got stuck because of the terrain for a bit... but that's what I get for not defending the planet properly like I'm supposed to =D

Childhood toys by Gornova 2012-05-06T18:28:00

Not too bad a platformer, I kind of like the sad atmosphere. Some little issues I had: The sloped tiles are kind of annoying, as you expect to land on them and just fall through them into the spikes... A visual effect on the teleporter when it has been activated would be great to let people know that it is now active.
Also I completed the game without getting every toy, I missed the item to the right of the start, past the spikes but the game still was completed.

Creature Collect by moop 2012-04-26T11:05:00

Pretty hard to control, which makes for some amusement. Whether that was the intent or not, you get points for humour :P Seems you can win by just catapulting animals into space and they eventually end up pinballing into a merchant who accepts the deal even though you were nowhere near them :D Tried really hard not to do this and play it properly, but chaos quickly ensues :D Great concept

MakHappy by JosephGribbin 2012-04-23T13:54:00

Fun random puzzle solving, nice art style :D
You really need to post the controls though, I had to randomly press all the buttons on the keyboard before I figured out how to jump/pick up things :P

Super Strict Farmer by Benjamin 2012-05-05T21:30:00

Woah that's tough, but seems fair, so that is the essence of a good challenge I guess. I just need to play more :D

Memento XII by deepnight 2012-05-13T12:40:00

Great stuff, wish I could see more of it, but I'm totally stuck... the help me thing isn't terribly useful as it is telling me after I found the broom and ring that I need to go to the park, but I have no idea there was a park or how to reach it! :S

Rambros by Black Ships Fill the Sky 2012-05-05T12:35:00

Would love to see a full version of this. Love the random guys with different weapons, would have been great if they all had a unique secondary/grenade of some kind too. Great stuff!

Scape by intmain 2012-05-13T15:31:00

Woah, really good and challenging!

DINO-CAB by EricTheCoolDude 2012-05-05T12:23:00

Great idea, hilarious! The arrow is incredibly hard to read though. Would be pretty great if that was more readable.

Quest^3 by angryshroom 2012-05-04T19:58:00

Tough! Could only get as far as three items, but I'll probably come back to this later :D

Wunderworld by ratking 2012-04-24T18:22:00

Great, like others say, would be awesome with some premade levels. The video I saw on youtube seems to have lava and stairs as items you can place, but these things don't seem to be accessible to me, is this a bug or are you working on an update or?

Trees of Life by pragmascript 2012-05-13T16:17:00

Controls feel very slidy, and jumping is waaaay weird - sometimes I'd make "normal" jumps and other times it felt like I was going to leave orbit!
Populating worlds with giant trees is a pretty good feeling though, if the physics was sorted this would be a whole bag o'fun!

My Little Planetoid by matthias_zarzecki 2012-04-23T14:12:00

Good job. Playing the web version I had the same annoyance as others with the camera scrolling when purchasing a building, but aside from that, great stuff :D

Mr Cool by Rialgar 2012-05-13T16:05:00

I love the round world level idea. Didn't experience any lag or bugs (using Opera) though as mentioned, the firetrolls seem to hit you from pretty far away D:
Jump mechanic could probably be better, my finger kind of hurts now from rapidly hitting up =P

These are your Friends by Farfin 2012-05-06T22:09:00

Pretty interesting idea. At first I thought it was too hard cos I was trying to keep the red dudes away from my friends, then I read the comments and instead caught them as they fell as was suggested, and then it became too easy =[ Awesome art on the island lady!

Orbiter by thatshelby 2012-04-23T14:45:00

Pretty easy (though I love tower defence games, so maybe that varies by person) but very good game! Nice implementation of theme with the genre :D

Bottlecolonies by tcstyle 2012-04-28T15:23:00

Great game! Quite challenging to get the prosperous score, but not frustratingly hard to get the adequate victory, a good balance there I think.
My only criticisms would be the same as others about misplacing blocks due to the grid, but a marker would fix this as you are apparently doing, so great :D

Short Life in a Box by tequibo 2012-04-28T14:53:00

You can get on top of the maze with just the single jump upgrade, get into that little space with the [?] box, and end up trapped forever :P
Enjoyable game! Couldn't find all the secrets, but had fun trying =D

Ancestor's Sword by JaJ 2012-04-24T11:06:00

Good game, great ending XD
Corners are weird, but not tooo bad, I can usually get where I'm trying to go :P
Two endings huh... hm *will have to try and get that later*

Apocalypse Inc. by mooosh 2012-04-23T13:15:00

If the little pirate aliens are going to cause you damage, they probably shouldn't be able to spawn exactly where you are standing D: ouch. Gets pretty hard to build and shoot once the place gets swarmed D:
Fun game, the curved nature of the tiny world actually works against you by blocking your bullets! Nice touch =D

Lilac.27 by oddgoo 2012-05-05T11:56:00

Wow, that was awesomely done! Love the style.

One minor issue in that one time I teleported to a planet and landed straight in some lava, but seeing as I respawned on that same planet in the correct place it was an incredibly minor bug.

Children of DiscoDroid by Per 2012-04-25T14:58:00

The boss disappeared, but it told me I died? For such a tiny world, it sure was hard to find him :P
Interesting idea!

Tiny Tim's Race World by pythong 2012-04-24T17:31:00

Yeah the online data is good idea! Though each time I played, there were some cars that just didn't jump at all, and yet they never crashed! D=

Extensionism by eelfroth 2012-05-13T15:47:00

I'm a few levels in, and I'm totally stuck, the yellow things aren't there, so I assumed I was to do something else, but I reset the level a few times and one of the yellow things was suddenly there... which makes me think a glitch is causing them to be randomly invisible? or did I do something to make it visible?
Was very impressed with the mechanics to that point, I love how the game is played at an odd angle =D

Spaceship Planet Merge by codeapparat 2012-04-25T14:40:00

Unique idea! Very fun :D

Tiny Galaxy by Tifu 2012-05-13T15:07:00

Yeah... I don't know HTML5. I don't know how to code in any web friendly thing, obviously if I did, then I would have...

Much thanks to everyone who played the game and commented :)

Archipelago by scottychips 2012-04-24T09:51:00

Nice work. With some more things to do and hazards for the villagers (maybe if you could delete ground too, and had to block monsters' paths or something) and such it could be the base for a pretty decent god game :D

Prince of Leaves by evilseanbot 2012-04-24T10:11:00

Wow... I don't think I've ever seen a Ludum Dare game with a song in it before. Awesome. Nice game, though holding stealth then stabbing people makes things easy =D

Planet 161 by saint11 2012-05-13T12:15:00

Very good! The only improvement would be if the character sprite changed depending on his current gun, aside from looking better, it would prevent me accidentally detonating an explosive barrel when I thought I had the grapple gun =D

Tiny Garden by Exorph 2012-04-25T10:59:00

I got 20 points! Then... I don't know how I lost balance :(
I guess something died? Good ideas and stuff though. Seeing the plants you made spread about is pretty nice :)

An Hell Of A Kitchen by brus46 2012-04-26T10:48:00

"the terrible maid will die when she sees the big boss"
She must have awesome eyesight! =o
Fun game, could be harder. Maybe if the cleaner wasn't a threat coming soon but she just occasionally wiped areas that were overcrowded with bacteria - ensuring you spread them out or something?
From the looks of the comments you've added an undo button and stuff after the compo? You're not really supposed to change anything except game-breaking bugs in the version that people are supposed to be judging =/

An Hell Of A Kitchen by brus46 2012-04-26T14:08:00

Ah yeah, forgot about the food resource when posting.
Putting the post-compo version up there is the best way to do it yeah :D
Played the compo version again so I could rate properly =D

This Precious Land by Ishisoft 2012-04-27T09:34:00

I don't see what's wrong with the grid, looks good to me. Game is fun, though I feel I need some kind of guidance as to what I'm meant to be doing, I saw mention of markets in the comments and I'm like "what?! how!?". Most interesting things I built was a giant tree and a volcano. Had good fun trying to achieve other things even if I failed :D
If anyone posts any tips I'll try again.

Rockland by Jeroenimoo0 2012-04-26T10:29:00

The goal didn't seem that high to me, seemed about right in terms of difficulty/time in my opinion. Like others say, sounds would have been great, and the reload thing - the way it appears on screen it looks like you should be able to fire while reloading, some text below the ammo saying "reloading" or something would have helped with that little bit of confusion for me :D Fun game

LD25 — You are the Villain

Happy Little Murder Friends by farmergnome 2012-12-17T11:51:00

This is awesome! Love the music, love the variety of weapons, it's super fun. Is your progress supposed to save? It didn't seem to, but I only closed the program because it seemed to crash (I was unable to select a 'fetish' after unlocking them all) - aside from that little bug this is great! :D

Rive Gauche by lightspeedlucas 2012-12-19T12:01:00

This is real interesting, pretty fun, though it's easy to end up in no-win situations :(
I think I also got arrested once without a cop being on my station, but I am not absolutely certain...

(Tie One Woman to a Train Track and Suddenly) I'm the Badguy by handCraftedRadio 2012-12-17T12:08:00

Hah, awesome. High score 1920, then I walked into a train :(

Mad Princess by AdventureIslands 2012-12-19T13:28:00

The agile enemies seem a tad overpowered D:
That and no room for error made me just give up on the level where you have spikes and bombs to defeat those guys =/
Was enjoying up to that point, love the graphics.

Dig for Me by Logan 2012-12-17T13:05:00

The heroes never dig into that corridor at the bottom - I must know what is inside D:!!! I'll have to try this later, I had like 8000, didn't realise there was a goal and let myself get killed by some guy, woops.

Prison Break! by tnch4_ 2012-12-17T13:41:00

Too easy to just stand in one place and slaughter everyone, do the cops even shoot? They didn't seem to be in my play. Am added difficulty that I was almost expecting to happen, is if the cops could have picked up the hats they ran over on their way through the level, would have added some incentive to run around the level and not just spam one hiding spot perhaps.

Angry Purple Monster by ramoncb 2012-12-19T12:55:00

Love the monster and graphics in general :D A score would have been nice.

KillTheHomelesses by ahmedcab 2012-12-19T12:13:00

The rats will kill me, but the homeless men don't even put up a fight? Odd world, but fun :P

You Are The Virus by Ashkin 2012-12-17T12:19:00

Second the notion that it would be better to see the whole screen, would allow for more strategic movement instead of guesswork in larger stages. Possibly a "X/Y nodes hacked" display might have been useful for larger stages, where you can't see everything at once.

Journey Of Evil by jayhC 2012-12-19T12:26:00

I felt like a monster once I started killing the nicer critters :(
So... good job? =D

Castle of Doom by vivavolt 2012-12-17T12:01:00

Good game. I think the only problem is that when an enemy/trap is destroyed, you automatically select the next one - this resulted in me, for example, pressing space to try to activate a skull bomb, but the knight destroys it, and I instantly set off the next trap :(

Children : Reverse Slender by HackThePanda 2012-12-17T19:13:00

If he just wants a hug... why do the children vanish? D:

killCity by DST 2012-12-19T12:06:00

It's like Missile Defence in reverse :D

Crazy Evil Laptop by impulse9 2012-12-17T12:31:00

Controls pretty slidy, it's pretty hard in level 3 or 4 or so to jump up between two tiles without just jamming your "head" against one and not getting through. And the moving platform bits... aghhh. Love the art, reminds me of ye olde days.

SpaceGreed by lotusgame 2012-12-19T12:49:00

Pretty good! Love the particle stuff on the ship. It seems incredibly hard to hit the enemy ships though, I think I did it once maybe... or possibly they aren't supposed to be attackable, in which case, not sure why that one blew up.

Black Knight Blockade by Smaxx 2012-12-17T13:53:00

Kind of reminds me of a scene in Robin Hood: Men in Tights... why is he so concerned about a bridge when the little dudes just run over the river anyway? Silly knight dude D:

Burglary by TobiasW 2012-12-17T13:33:00

Love the light dim/brighten mechanic, and I like how it is integrated into the lock picking mechanic. Good little stealth thing (I got a perfect run, whoo :P)

Apocolypse Virus by Tom Leonardsson 2012-12-17T11:28:00

I seem to be unable to lose, even if I actually try to ram things I still win just by holding fire D=

Hunter to Hunted by Jwatt 2012-12-17T13:17:00

I think I get the idea of what I'm to do, but very tricky to pull off, good challenge! Don't think it needs an end goal, it's a.. keep the game going as long as possible kind of goal I think. Good stuff!

Dungeon Disaster by Zazibar 2012-12-19T12:34:00

Pretty impressive to do a tactics game in 48 hours =o

Blight on Happy Land by Tifu 2012-12-17T13:58:00

Too hard? I didn't expect that at all, I wonder if something is wrong somewhere... are the tiles just falling way too fast? There is supposed to be plenty time to get off them...

Blight on Happy Land by Tifu 2012-12-17T15:29:00

As some people are experiencing the game at different speeds due to my uh... lack of knowledge about Unity... I have uploaded a fixed version that should run at the correct speed regardless of your comp. Obviously just judge the unfixed version as the fix was done outwith the time limit.

Dig-Dug Dungeon by bigbadwofl 2012-12-19T13:14:00

Very awesome!

LD26 — Minimalism

Undercolor Agents by farmergnome 2013-05-02T01:09:00

Great game. Love the variety of weapons (bouncy gun is super fun)

Colon Right Parentheses by Pixelulsar 2013-04-30T22:10:00

Love the graphics, pretty challenging game. It got pretty hard after the purple guys, I hope I was near the end D:

F*** This Job by Casino Jack 2013-05-02T13:10:00

Awesome job! Made it to the end somehow :D

Spacus by manabreak 2013-05-02T11:58:00

I'm on Win7 and it just crashes on startup, I just get the standard "spacus.exe has stopped working" message :(

The Only String by Tuba 2013-04-30T22:33:00

Nice use of theme, pretty cool.

This is not a minimalist game by Volute 2013-05-07T22:30:00

That was interesting. Loved building the world back together again slowly. Great stuff.

Simply Escape by wccrawford 2013-05-02T11:09:00

I didn't even have to move until the third room, minimally difficult indeed :D
Shame you didn't have more time, this would have been pretty cool if it had been expanded with a few more "rooms"

Eraseregg by OddballDave 2013-05-02T12:29:00

So what's a good high score? I got 36,532 :) Would have been good to have a... some way of judging your score without having to compare on forums/here - like a bronze/silver/gold comparison score to aim for. Nice original idea, interesting take on the theme, good job.

Poor Man's Tower Defense by UntitledQ 2013-05-11T23:16:00

Most original Tower Defence I've seen in a long time, but very very hard. The mirror doesn't seem to rotate how I'd expect, like around the centre? Good job, even if I suck horribly at it :)

Onion Harvester by cacciatc 2013-05-07T22:13:00

Good but short game. The moving platforms don't seem to work too well though, I had to hold the direction to move with them, and in the area where you have 4 moving platforms at one time, and no background reference images, it's a little hard to tell which way they are going/when to jump/etc =/
Nice soundtrack.

People by BenW 2013-05-10T19:59:00

First few seconds of game: "Well aren't I popular!" *realises mechanic of game "awww no I'm not :("
Nice atmosphere, love the sounds "yay!"

P-MNMSAOD by HD408 2013-05-06T23:29:00

Interesting idea for an attack mechanic, but like others pointed out you can just mash to win :D
Enjoyed the visuals!

soundscape by Ragzouken 2013-04-30T21:48:00

Great concept, though I cannot find the heart at all, I don't seem to notice any change in the volume of the heart beats. But maybe I'm just wandering in circles :P

Fractured by dalbinblue 2013-05-10T14:01:00

This is awesome! Love the cute graphics, the music, the puzzles are super hard but I somehow managed to beat it anyway. Good job.

Feint Signal by brxtr 2013-05-03T15:01:00

Cool game, love the way the circles pulse, and the simple but challenging gameplay.

U by KEFIR 2013-05-05T21:05:00

Good use of theme, good challenge, a little short. Really liked the death particles =D Good job!

Shape Attack by Krise20 2013-05-04T11:50:00

the "how to play" text goes off the screen for me, so I can't read it :| "when you touch another shape you wil-" I think I figured it all out though so I was still able to play. Fun game idea, good job.

Nice mood. Love the way the colours gradually change.

Interesting concept! I minimalised everything >D

Another Minimalistic War by psychomonster 2013-05-03T14:01:00

Right click to restart without any confirmation message!?! aghhh
Good job completing your first LD. I do believe if you look at the rules fixing minor bugs like the debug $500 thing is actually allowed after the deadline, just no major changes.

Bouncy Ball Extreme by Ray_Mickelino 2013-05-04T14:11:00

Ah my pet peeve, games that use the keyboard to play, but the mouse to navigate levels and menus...
Good game! Some interesting puzzle mechanics that I wish had been explored a little more, like two-balls-at-once level, and the falling block level (I was expecting to have to use the falling blocks quickly to get somewhere high, for example). I did end up building up too much speed in some levels and glitching through blocks, sometimes right through the floor to my death :D but it wasn't too frequent as to ruin enjoyment.
Good stuff!

Fog by Noah Ratcliff 2013-05-10T13:36:00

Great game. Love the feeling of watching the art appear once you beat a level and realising what you've been wandering through =D

The Rules Are Simple... by saampahlavan 2013-05-03T13:03:00

I know its just barely a second, but waiting for the box to be filled in in a game where death happens frequently, builds up to frustration D:
Despite frustrations, good game, nice ideas, managed to get to the end and enjoyed the little bonus thing :D

Block Disco by Jubjub. 2013-05-02T11:26:00

Pretty hard. Dying when you reach the top of the screen seems incredibly counter-intuitive, I can see why you don't want the player going too high, but I die so often just getting too caught up in "gotta go up!!!" mentality :P
I also seem to occasionally not grab onto an object, or am unable to jump off it if its rotating a little which is a little frustrating.
Really awesome and addictive though, I really want to beat my high score D:

CIRCLE SQUARE TRIANGLE by tinytouchtales 2013-04-30T21:39:00

Oh this is addictive, very nice!

Ai'n Av Diortem by awppy 2013-05-07T00:21:00

Jumping on enemies seems more effective than trying to shoot them :P
Enjoyed what was present of this. The last room with the lighting made me really want to see more, would have been really good if you had had time to implement the thematic mechanics of losing upgrades :(

Plex by Neonlare 2013-05-02T12:58:00

It's a little annoying having to navigate through the menu after every level, but that's my only complaint. Interesting puzzles, the way the squares change colour and shape as the level opens is really cool. Good stuff!

minobi by Pixelboy_85 2013-05-10T16:07:00

So glad you had checkpoints! fun game

Dragon Drop by Tom 7 2013-05-04T13:17:00

My mind was blown. Great idea!
Not sure how to progress further, or if I can, and don't want to post spoilers to find out :P

Dragon Drop by Tom 7 2013-05-06T23:01:00

ooh! Solved it :D

Dark Black by Purplescape 2013-05-04T11:39:00

Good job! I actually managed to beat it without looking for help, that never happens with me and adventure games =P

REVOLVENGARDE by Andrio 2013-04-30T22:24:00

This is awesome, I love everything about it. You even used minimalism in the title screen, that is great, music is great, game is awesome and very tough D:

Escape the Minimalism by klianc09 2013-05-05T21:43:00

I like the use of theme, was pretty fun and challenging!

Tiny Runner by Jarcas Studios 2013-05-11T21:30:00

266! Good take on the theme, very challenging having to change colours! :D

TOO MANY DISTRACTIONS by kbm 2013-05-02T13:26:00

Cool idea... what on earth is that electrical device on the right? Dude, forget whatever you're typing, you seem to have a matter generator on your desk, patent that and make millions!
Game seemed to crash my browser (opera) when I won =/

Milton by ZYXer 2013-05-12T13:15:00

Awesome idea! I love the two-stage gameplay. I ended with 13 torches left cos I was conservative as I didn't notice there was only 12 levels, should probably include that info in-game, like "level X of Y".

Earth Defender by Hellequin 2013-05-15T09:53:00

I assume people who are saying this is too hard are thinking they have to stop every ship from getting past, once you realise there are only a small number of alien ships and they are looping it becomes a really challenging game of patience and picking the right moment to attack, and I think that works really well. The collision seems a bit sensitive, especially on the top of your ship it seemed. I managed to beat it on medium hard and potato :D Good job.

Invertigo! by unusualcadence 2013-05-02T10:35:00

Excellent - I kind of wish there had been more save points, I kept dying in the level just before the second save point for a while, and was a little frustrating. Love the music

(R,G,B) by KilledByAPixel 2013-05-05T20:55:00

Not sure what is going on here, when I run it (win7) I see the intro sequence, and then I just have a yellow screen with some black blurs along the edge of the screen. Moving around (I think I'm moving anyway, I hear bounces) just blurs things more. I had a quick look at the youtube clip and its obviously not meant to do this :(

Lumber Rumble by MRvanderPants 2013-05-11T21:47:00

Good job, as others have said, difficulty should ramp up a bit, but the game has good mechanics. Fun stuff. Nice use of theme.

The Boy Who Leapt Through Planets by ydg 2013-05-07T22:03:00

I got the pacifist ending, then "some enemies" ending after that! Fun game. I didn't seem able to kill the huge red dude, though.

Tower of Pixel by AlanZucconi 2013-05-12T13:04:00

You can summon ladders!? *finds this out after spending ages beating the game* probably not the intended/proper ending though :P
The auto dig is a bit annoying, I destroyed a lot of crucial tower components while digging.

BatWorld by Farjuan 2013-05-03T14:17:00

Good concept. I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing in the level with the red and blue sonar everywhere though =/

Only One Shot by Xanjos 2013-05-11T21:07:00

Very short, but good concept!

M by Belimoth 2013-04-30T22:14:00

Well I reached blue, but was it the right shade of blue? Is there an end screen at all?
Perfect fit for the theme!

Sky Tea by OysterKLAN 2013-05-06T22:32:00

Was having fun, but lack of checkpoints began to frustrate me in a large level I got to, as I was just doing the start area over and over. I also fell through the floor at one point, and that didn't help :P (maybe I accidentally pressed down though, possibly). Cute graphics, love the music.

the sunset by nhmllr 2013-05-11T21:37:00

Enjoyable little peaceful game. I didn't find the potato, but I found the sunrise :D

Nerdogochi by tiffi 2013-05-03T14:48:00

Very meta :P

Minimalist Dungeon Crawler by Cranky 2013-05-02T00:47:00

Pretty tough, maybe too tough? Sometimes/frequently the second room I enter has 9 slimes and 4 bats with nothing to hide behind D:
Good game, way to go on getting roguelike zelda in such a short time!

Bezier Challenge by Travis Irby 2013-05-02T12:19:00

Interesting puzzle, pretty fun challenge but I cannot for the life of me beat level 4

IAO by Rafael Sales 2013-05-04T14:19:00

Woah this is tough, I can get to the square, but just barely. Would enjoy playing for longer than the time limit allowed. Good use of the theme. Fun stuff!

end by Aevek 2013-05-05T20:47:00

Cool stuff. Nice use of theme. A little slow waiting for moving blocks in a few stages that seemed to be taking ages, but eh, minor complaint. Way to go!

100% Safe Download by 3.14 2013-05-12T11:00:00

Nice visuals and gameplay love the humorous idea. Great stuff! :D

Minimalist Horror Story by MinionStudios 2013-05-06T23:18:00

Clicking on drawers and things is tricky. I can't get into the attic (I assume that is where the bats everyone mentions are) managed to get out anyway, with a potato :D Nice mood. I never actually encountered anything to "survive" against though, played through twice =/

Cube It by alexanderm006 2013-05-10T16:32:00

I got to level 14. Very tough! I like the energy mechanic.
I would echo Oye Beto's suggestions of using the keyboard for the menus and respawning instantly, not having these things can get very frustrating in high difficulty games where you die a lot.

BLoX by ThirteenWB 2013-05-09T11:27:00

Good game. I like the graphics that are simple, but the walls still show some depth. Never encountered an unbeatable level and there did seem to be a little variety (at least, I seemed to encounter levels that were just corridors and were more maze-like, and then more open levels) The enemies do seem to scale pretty quickly, making combat fairly suicidal when you can just use the laser thing. The only thing I found frustrating was when you respawn or enter a new area, it's not always obvious where you are. I died a couple of times just looking for my dude on the screen to find it was already being mobbed :(

The Coin Gatherer by XtremePrime 2013-05-09T12:29:00

I think this would have been a better experience with some of the "filler" type levels removed, some of the levels have some interesting mechanics as far as I played (I got as far as the moving walls one), but levels that are overly simple (like the one that is just coins, or that just require moving around without any difficulty) kind of get in the way of enjoying the challenging better levels. I like how the perspective changed, does it do more than platformer/top-down further in?

ShrunkenAdventures by FuzzyWuzzie 2013-05-10T16:47:00

Good job! I sometimes glitched through the walls, but it never happened in a way that killed me, so that wasn't too bad a problem :P

++Pet; by mushbuh 2013-04-30T21:31:00

Very cute, I'm not sure I entirely figured out what the buttons do, aside from right, but I kept it alive to 13 D:

QUEST SPACE by VictorGrunn 2013-05-03T12:22:00

Not quite what I was expecting... there are quite a lot of ways you could have made an on-rails, one-button RPG still have some actual gameplay. I laughed though, so I guess if that was the point... yay?!

TriNiTris (TNT) by DarioOliGPI 2013-05-09T11:39:00

Interesting idea, very hard, especially the last row, unless the block actually spawns on top of your column, I don't think you can move it in time, or if you can you'd have to be crazy fast. I like the way the text at the bottom tells you you're doing things wrong :P I think a "in X placements reds will disappear" counter would have helped a lot, or even just "in X placements a random colour will disappear" counter, so you know when it's happening, even reading the rules it was kind of "wait, why did that blow up?" kind of thing while playing.

Line Quest by RandomSpark 2013-05-09T11:46:00

Controls were a little confusing, but once I figured them out this was kind of fun. I really like the way you did the opening and ending cut scenes XP

Placeholder Title by The Jahn 2013-05-12T13:29:00

Reminds me of a time long ago :D
Very fun exploring retro caves, probably a "X/Y shiny things collected" would help, I'm not sure if I got them all or not.

_race_ by KoryWazHere 2013-05-06T23:37:00

Good challenge, I like the one button controls, it does seem to become impossible at 165mph though =/
Also the high score seems to start at 135 on the first play through.

Prison Retreat by JaydenB 2013-05-06T23:45:00

15 seconds :D! Was a little surprised that the other inmates could open doors, I'm the one with the key!
Sadly very short :(

Waste Not Want Not by scottwashi 2013-05-06T23:58:00

Wasn't sure what was going on here til I read the comments, and then played again, very interesting idea.

i need to lie down by JigxorAndy 2013-05-01T08:06:00

Very nice unsettling atmosphere =o

Min by ekun 2013-05-02T11:48:00

Love the cute style, especially when you or bosses take damage. It's a little frustrating, the bosses are really fun, I'd like to keep challenging the octopus guy and figure out a strategy, but I feel like the crab levels are just getting in the way of that fun =/

Dock Zone by Farfin 2013-05-06T22:45:00

I'm glad this game doesn't have lives, because the drowning animation was really fun :P
The game looped to level one when it was done, I assume it was finished anyway, but looking at comments I'm not sure this was supposed to happen. Fun game, some decent challenge, interesting mechanics, love the character sprites.

Mr Potato assembly-line by nSun 2013-05-04T13:39:00

Didn't realise the mouse-movement=conveyor belt movement until I tried again, interesting idea and use of theme!

crush. by oatsbarley 2013-05-02T13:19:00

Nice tranquil feel while playing this despite the OHGODIMGOINGTOGETCRUSHED aspect

Curiosity by geckojsc 2013-05-05T21:32:00

Nice game, had fun exploring the world. The first little "jump over reds using grappler" was a bit tough for an introduction I thought. I can see how to get the final flower, but the jumps would be too difficult to get it so I'm just settling for no cookies :(

Fearless by DragonSix 2013-05-03T12:44:00

The game doesn't seem to have slowdown for me, but I still fell down into non-space like Pierric, it seems to happen most if I jump from a high spot and land next to a wall, which is kind of making getting further than this a little frustrating =/ You should probably also put the controls somewhere, I died like three times thinking the game had a fixed camera perspective :|

I really like the mask alarm system, and the stealth seems to work great which is mind blowing for such a short time! Way to go.

Treasure! by Mach60KAS 2013-05-12T11:50:00

Should probably have less health, it's pretty easy to just force your way to the treasure in the difficult parts, get all the treasure, and still win. If there had been more levels too that would have been awesome, and solved that exploit :)

Mr. Minimal by sP0CkEr2 2013-05-04T12:50:00

2177 points - level 28 :)
Fun concept, a little issue with the difficulty pacing, it starts off incredibly easy for the first 17 or so levels, then after level 24 the red guys are going so fast and unpredictable that it is just luck hoping they don't bolt into you, and they stay in their corner. If it started off harder, but they had a little more pattern to their movement so there was a little bit of predictability (or even if they just faced a direction they were about to go) it might help a lot I think.
I was unable to pick up any coins - probably why my score is low for my level? - they just lingered on screen level after level :(

World of Minimalism by VDZ 2013-05-01T07:58:00

Great idea, though the theme was minimalism it would be nice if there was something more to do, not sure what though exactly...

Bliss by fakeyou 2013-05-11T21:23:00

First thing I did was try to get myself stuck on an island. I WIN! :D (can still move though somehow)
Waves look really cool!

A Puzzling Composition by whilefun 2013-05-03T14:40:00

A cool bunch of puzzles :D

The One Road by Dietrich Epp 2013-05-07T21:46:00

Good job, completely linear RPG satirising the state of current games in the genre, maybe? %D
Seriously, nice concept, great music. It's a little easy to get to a state where only the king demon things can hurt you (on hard mode, I was level 9 with the best armour and nothing could damage me except them and the boss).

Line Game by elektron 2013-05-02T10:46:00

Good challenge, a little too hard for me, I couldn't focus on the timing of the black on/off lines and my own movement very well, maybe if they had some kind of transition "I'm just about to go solid" colour for a split second I might have been able to do it. I got to the level in the second screenshot though :D

A Square In A Room by PapyPilgrim 2013-05-04T12:24:00

I really like the use of theme and the different layers of invisible walls is a great concept. But there's a little too much trial and error in some areas. Especially level 15 -agh. Even the levels after that one seemed fairer.

Leaf Me Alone by Claw 2013-05-02T11:01:00

Awesome. I really like the abilities the little guy finds, they're not the standard set of things you find in most metroidvanias, and it's all real adorable :3

Edward Was Human by geepit 2013-04-30T22:02:00

Pretty nice relaxing experience, I thought the first part was more interesting than the rest - as being unable to go left has a weird disorienting feeling, which I was really enjoying, and hoped would continue (like... if jump had been disabled at the bottom of the cave or something). Good job.

MiniMario by dem0 2013-05-10T14:10:00

Good job, it's pretty tough though, I didn't get super far :D

SUSTAIN by Xion 2013-05-03T13:31:00

What a great concept! Really fun, the variety of enemies that make use of the concept is great.
One little issue - sometimes the next wave begins while there are still a couple enemies on screen, I assume this is unintended, but perhaps not?

Princess Chardonnay in Bomb Kingdom by Ishisoft 2013-05-17T15:02:00

Really tough puzzles, I feel really proud I beat them all :P Great job on making one puzzle tool so diverse and challenging.

Puzzle Dash! by Fireblend 2013-08-27T11:34:00

Good job! Pretty challenging. PC controls are kind of awkward, but can see how it'd be easier on touch device.

The Day Magic Died by Endurion 2013-08-26T13:43:00

That last level is frustrating D: it can be pretty cheap if a crystal spawns next to an arrow spawner :(
Good job though, I like the visuals, though as others said, shadow/circles would help a lot.

Lean Mikey's Mega Muscles with Lean Mikey by handCraftedRadio 2013-08-26T15:51:00

Funny :D
Good little minigames, love the simple but effective graphics.

Self-destruct in 10 by Transmit 2013-08-27T13:48:00

I can't seem to upgrade anything past level 5, is that the upper limit? Cos it is showing a cost to upgrade, and I have way more than enough =/
Got a high score of 2785 =D

The Thief Stealer Robberies by jwolf 2013-08-27T14:00:00

The game should probably be clearer about why you died, after some trial and error it seems you have to be patient with the doors, but it would be better if, when a door kills you, it would say "you died because you tried to pick the lock too fast... something something... magic security protocols" - or whatever it is exactly that is supposed to be killing you in that situation :P

The Super Fair Trial Show by Gabriel 2013-08-28T23:06:00

Whether I am guilty or not, I will find whoever voted to change my weapon from HUGE EXPLOSIVE SPREAD GUN to pistol, and murder them :|
This is pretty awesome! I love the tweets and random rule changes and such. Good job!

Pitch your game by Tuba 2013-08-26T15:55:00

Funny idea, same as others, would have liked a skip cutscene bit.

10 Seconds to Insanity by dagothig 2013-08-27T14:32:00

Is it really 10 seconds if you slow the clock down? :F
Pretty impressive! Graphics are awesome, great atmosphere, the level generation seems good, though, I seem to be without any clue of where to go. The spike traps seem a bit unfair, with the camera perspective, as they are often almost invisible =/

Ochre by ben 2013-08-26T14:52:00

I got as far as madK and didn't know what to do next... tried going up, but if there is something up there, I didn't see it. Lovely graphics! Wish I knew what I was doing so I could see more :)

Duke Dashington by AdventureIslands 2013-08-28T10:55:00

Really cute arts, love the puzzles created with the dash mechanic.

Legend of Troll by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2013-08-27T20:17:00

Looks amazing, nice use of theme in the puzzle, shame you didn't have time for more levels D

Fat-Guy-In-A-Batman-Costume-Man Rises by sev_inf 2013-08-29T13:40:00

Should probably have made pick up bomb and use stairs a different button, I was frequently entering stairs when I was trying to pick up a bomb that had spawned on them.
Good job though, very funny idea and the graphics are great :D

No Time For Dungeons by PixelMonkey 2013-08-26T16:13:00

Not bad! Love the item descriptions D. Controls could be better, its easy to get stuck just behind a wall when you're trying to down a corridor and such.

Fireman Ten by Zccc 2013-08-26T12:40:00

Cool. Would have been nice with more dangers (fire that spreads, something that explodes maybe), and if it got harder as you progressed. Level generation seems well done, I did encounter levels where it was impossible to get to the cats (they were behind the stairs) but never impossible to complete :)

The Saddest Landscape by BradleySmith 2013-08-27T11:22:00

Really good job at evoking a sad atmosphere, lovely music.

RUNTRIS by sgehlich 2013-08-26T21:02:00

Sometimes blocks seemed to not place, resulting in my untimely death :( Nice idea, love graphics, I am terrible at this though :P

Boxer's Seconds by madk 2013-08-26T11:48:00

"my favourite pie is cherry pie. I hate people who make baked goods." but... where does he get his pie!?! :P

Good to see alternative interpretations of the theme. Love the little details, being able to add in notes and actually scribble in a signature. Well done :D

Flooded Dungeons by ripatti 2013-08-26T21:51:00

This is pretty cool, very hard, I like how you didn't just put in an instant death when the time runs out and you have a tiny chance to escape if you are close enough to the exit. The water flow looks really cool. I think if the game somehow highlighted where you are when you spawn, that would be a huge improvement, it can sometimes take a little bit of time to find the dude on the map, time I don't have! :P (Alternatively, if the spawn point was at the same point on the screen as the exit was on the previous map, this would also be good)

Get well soon by GSM Productions 2013-08-27T12:38:00

Hey, fellow survival horror LDers :D
This is awesome, nice intro, and I love the take on the theme! It is so suspenseful just watching the things walk towards you, hoping the timer reaches 0 before they get to you D: Great job! Haven't been able to find a key for the lower level doors yet (found a key card, but it doesn't seem to do anything?) but really enjoy this! Only thing is, it would be nice for a quick restart to skip the intro, awesome as it is.

Get well soon by GSM Productions 2013-08-28T12:21:00

@Grungi: Oh, the first key opens the stairs! Every time I played I picked up the first key card before getting to the stairs so I didn't even realise that one was locked. I'll try again now I know that the cards def work :)

Offspring by scriptorum 2013-08-28T20:47:00

Hah, that took ages but I won after realising "When two cities are near each other..." meant adjacent, and not just in the same region :P
Nice little growth/sim game.

At the cafe by Pierrec 2013-08-26T12:07:00

Like the interpretation of the theme using short vignettes. Twas a little frustrating doing the same parts over and over again, but the end was worth it XP

Meowfinity and Beyond by Cryovat 2013-08-29T14:55:00

I got stuck in the same bit HeyChinaski mentions...
The gameplay seems to slow down a lot when I reach the last 5 seconds, not sure if this is intentional and possible impacting my ability to get past somehow?

Get Out! by LordHellMaX 2013-08-28T12:42:00

Awesome, makes me wish I'd been able to do mine in 3D.

ARGENTUM FORM by blackotus 2013-09-01T14:33:00

Great atmosphere, love the unusual camera control scheme.

Audenary by Andrio 2013-08-26T13:21:00

Music is fantastic, very relaxing... and then the timer faded away and I began panicking :D Nice how that little change alters things. Love the two stage gameplay shift thing.

The Stuffuv by roaet 2013-08-27T20:50:00

Nice concept, very atmospheric. Trying to light the match when everything goes dark can really make you panic and screw up :D good stuff!

Total Spaghettification by unusualcadence 2013-08-26T13:11:00

I got really far, but it was getting very difficult and I gave up :( Well, I think I got far, for all I know there could be 500 more levels!?! Wall jumping can be pretty hard at times, but it was more the leaps of faith that done me in. Love the level graphics!

Explosion Time by Fervir 2013-08-26T15:36:00

Pretty frantic! I got a little slowdown at times when there was too much going on. Fun though, and nice design on the enemies!

10 second roguelike by jackyjjc 2013-08-27T20:23:00

Good idea, would be nice if you could change which goblin you are attacking, the game seems to just assign one that approaches you, but sometimes you want to kill the one that is blocking your path to a pretty open area. Would have made the game more strategical.

10 Seconds by rogueNoodle 2013-08-28T13:23:00

Very slidy! I think I only reached one level flag using the keyboard, tried again with Xbox pad and did a lot better :D
Though the game lists previous high score as "100,000" and I didn't get anywhere close to that :P

10 Seconds of Grey by Almax27 2013-08-28T11:14:00

That is amazing art, I love the intro and the way it just smoothly rolls into the game D
Interesting idea, shame no ending.

Love Your Pets by DaanVanYperen 2013-08-26T12:21:00

Love the level graphics, as others have said, controls are an issue, would love to see a post-comp version with improved controls :)

North Exit by kazukishida 2013-08-28T14:41:00

Nice atmosphere, though it seems pretty clear from the level design and your description that there isn't actually a threat of any kind? which is a shame

PYRAM1D by CogentInvalid 2013-08-28T14:09:00

Good job, would have been nice if some rooms had power ups - my weapon seemed to go a very short distance, and it would have been nice to upgrade it, and this would also make exploring a little more interesting maybe - of course, maybe there was power ups and I just didn't find any!?

Dinosaur Jr. vs the 1960's by devi ever 2013-08-27T11:59:00

Pretty funny, and I do love squishing people as a T-Rex! Did fail it several times, cos the game says I've to eat Jimi, so I just ran to the stage and tried to eat him without realising there was a different goal.

Chicks And Dungeons by Kotstulle 2013-08-28T13:00:00

I really like the idea and use of theme, and the gameboy-esque graphics, the jumping is a little awkward though so it makes it real easy to screw up and die, and too hard to time jumps properly in the rooms with archers + chains =[
(the web player graphics looked odd in Opera, I could see lines where the tile grids are, worked fine in Firefox though)

Your last 10" by Sithdown 2013-08-27T12:45:00

Nice idea, I found two ways to survive! :D I think, anyway - it seemed to bug out when I did the two things and time stopped until I pressed enter? But it looked like I solved the problem, and the voice kept repeating 'Nice!' :P

Step Out by bitserum 2013-08-28T12:17:00

Awesome game, would be nice if there had been more things you could possess/control, but given the time limit, what you have is incredible D
I did find in the second area that I would sometimes control the wrong rock (it seemed to be controlling the rock I controlled previously) but it was a minor issue, and didn't break the game at all (I just tried again and it worked)

Dimming by Kep 2013-08-27T14:41:00

Good atmosphere, nice use of theme!

Sixth of a Minute by Tork 2013-08-26T11:53:00

Pretty good! Love the way the countdown is presented as part of the background. The explosions might have been better with some particle effects, more satisfying to blow things up when they really explode :D

Ephemeral by Delca 2013-08-26T21:33:00

Love the idea, very cool mechanic, but I feel it needs a suicide button, so much time was spent just waiting for units to die. If that made it too easy to bridge gaps over lava, then it could be made so they can only do it when standing still.

10 Squared by Impmaster 2013-08-26T15:58:00

The windows exe is doing nothing when I click on it :/

donut panic by dlowe 2013-08-28T13:49:00

You probably shouldn't put "multiplayer arcade-style game" in the first line of the description when the game has a single player mode, that made me skip this game when I first looked at it cos I had no one to play with and assumed it meant ONLY multiplayer.

Survival Madness by wupto 2013-08-29T13:51:00

Good game, as others have pointed out, a way to open crates when lacking ammo would have improved things, I got completely stuck and just had to let the things eat me :(

Tachyon Rupture by Sascha 2013-08-27T20:43:00

Nice use of theme, the level generation is a little imperfect (I won on a level with several locked doors that led absolutely nowhere), but good concept and execution.

Ten Second Clone by Dream Of Sleeping 2013-08-28T19:50:00

Hee, pretty easy to exploit :P
I got 32 kills on a not-cheating run :)

LevelUp! by m110 2013-08-26T21:09:00

Nice, pretty fair and challenging. Not bad for a day's work.

Captain Robert by koe415 2013-08-29T14:43:00

This is really great, really enjoyed the atmosphere and story and the level arts look really good. Personally I wouldn't have turned the lights on at the start, because the moody lighting at the start of the game looked pretty great :D Shame the theme is only in the plot, not anywhere present in gameplay, it seems.
I think the ending is pretty good as is, left kind of open to interp.
Is it possible to get the message in the black area that you can see from the bottom left of the greenhouse? I found a few vents, but none seemed to lead to there =/

Ahh! It's Chasing Me! by Zknet 2013-08-27T13:29:00

Cool, similar take on the theme as my entry :D (getting a head start from something chasing you) It's a good job, but the darkness is a little too much - obviously it should be dark to set the atmosphere, but I'm unable to differentiate between a hill right in front of me, and one way off in the distance and keep just banging into walls as a result. Good job though, nice atmosphere and it can really be a little intense when you hear the hunter thing approaching D

Rebound Recon by TheHermit 2013-08-26T14:27:00

Very awesome game mechanics! Never seen anything like this. Got very difficult at the end, I had to give up on lvl10 when bouncing two balls into switches at same time :S

Crazy Genetist by ratalaika 2013-08-28T19:37:00

This is really addictive, I can't get very far though. It's a little bit too much luck of the draw with which dna strands you get next, which can lead to your demise, possibly a tetris-style "your next dna strand will be: X" would help out a little? Or more than five choices... or a limited number of "shuffles" you could use to get new dna strands, I dunno, but I'd love to play a post-compo version if this was solved somehow.

Kitty Force 10 by Raiyumi 2013-08-26T15:07:00

Love the graphics, good gameplay, got a little frustrating when having to jump on tiny bouncy dots.

Marrow Wind by NikB 2013-08-27T13:08:00

Pretty cool little game! It seems a little unfair that you can be killed by falling boulders at complete random, but that's life I guess :P

Legend of Epikouros by Erhune 2013-08-30T21:13:00

This is a genius idea! I managed to kill something in my play, so I feel accomplished %D

Blazin' Fingers by Eigen 2013-08-26T16:19:00

Didn't work in Opera, ran fine in Firefox. Surprisingly hard! D:

Night Stalker by mactinite 2013-08-28T14:33:00

Pretty challenging, I could only get 650 D:

Fast Explorer by Acrimiens 2013-08-26T20:51:00

Kind of frustrating having to repeat levels, when they seem designed to be impossible to beat on your first try. Like fake platforms you couldn't anticipate (unless that was a glitch I guess?), or the dwarf one (why am I running to him? He isn't shining like everything else was...). I like the graphics in the levels there seems to be a lot of interesting things in each level, certainly more than you can take in in the limited time, which is good.

Cave Astronaut - First LD! by Slader16 2013-08-26T15:26:00

Ditto for me :(

Cave Astronaut - First LD! by Slader16 2013-08-26T23:30:00

Seems to work now :)
Though I can press up to fly into the sky and I seem to have a lot more than 10 lives, I seem to be able to die however many times I want :P
Its playable and all though, managed to win, so good job for first try :D

Asteroids - Incoming 10 Seconds by CrisisSDK 2013-08-27T11:52:00

78 seconds :D Good job, controls well.

Proletarian Ninja X by deepnight 2013-08-28T20:14:00

I got what I assume was pretty far (large dining room with a kind of L shaped corridor in bottom left, guards standing on dining tables), but it was too difficult at that point, it would be hard enough without a time limit D:
Very good job of what I did experience though, love the graphics and the simple but very challenging mechanics.

Candle Man by Lancelot Gao 2013-08-28T12:50:00

Nice work, a decent challenge, I like that if you burn up your time, you still have a chance if you can make it in the dark D
Good job on the graphics!

This is so great XD

10 Second Roguelike by BadgerPriest 2013-08-27T20:37:00

A LOT of people died to kill that dragon... who would have thought Trees were so aggressive!? Good job! :D

Last Second Hero by ghostonline 2013-08-28T21:07:00

Great challenging, wish it could have been a little longer, it looked like at the last few levels you were just beginning to add in new elements and things :D

Rogue Descent by jonnopon3000 2013-08-29T13:31:00

The game doesn't progress for me, I get to the second level area with a red square and a pink square, kill and collect them, and nothing happens =/

Dark Interval by alexandervrs 2013-08-27T20:45:00

I'm getting the same :(

Jet Racing by lulzfish_4 2013-08-26T11:26:00

Cool idea! I got to 22 ghosts :D

Mercurial by sorceress 2013-08-28T13:41:00

Love the idea! Seems a little easy to die when you swap games though - if you start right next to a ghost and immediately you walk right into it :(

Time Annex by kratorspore 2013-08-27T21:46:00

Nice idea, pretty challenging to get high combos! :D

Feather & Son by Carduus 2013-09-01T15:10:00

Really like the idea, got as far as the last level (I assume, judging by... the thing that was there) - but it was too hard to get to because of the controls, they didn't seem to want to jump every time I pressed jump =/

Talking Is A Free Action by VDZ 2013-08-26T15:21:00

When I extracted the zip (download (normal)) I got "CRC failed in Content\music\level1.xnb. The file is corrupt". Game ran, but crashed when I entered tutorial level 1. Other levels seemed to run fine though! Player seemed to stick to the ground at times, I seemed to have to jump before I could move again.

I like the mechanic of keeping what item you hold when the world resets, interesting puzzles! Final level seems impossible unless I'm missing something...

I'll Give You A Head Start by Tifu 2013-09-01T14:05:00

Totally agree re music, but given we have to work alone for the 48 hour compo, any music *I* could have created, would have created a worse atmosphere, not a better one :P

Likewise, the recognisability of locations comes down to time - I did intend to have different carpeting, objects etc in different areas but time restraints. Which is on me I suppose, I could have made a smaller school.

The point about the ritual: You shouldn't have to keep the ritual up for four seconds, it should be instant the moment she walks over the centre of the arranged items. If that isn't happening there's a bug somewhere (or the arrangement is wrong, but then it shouldn't do anything after four seconds either...) :(

I'll Give You A Head Start by Tifu 2013-09-01T23:11:00

Oh, that 4/2 was debug code saying how many elements are in the correct place, whoops, I should have taken that out. In the first post, the things are all in the right place, you should be holding the spell book though? Maybe it wasn't clear you still had to use the book even after getting the clue from it... If you are and have the arrangement from http://pastebin.com/Vr8FzHbd and nothing is happening, then there is a bug. As that arrangement + book in hand + emily walks on the S = trigger cutscene. Or should do. Then just exit via the front doors to the south.

I'll Give You A Head Start by Tifu 2013-09-02T14:41:00

Unless you're playing the unfixed version and getting slowdown, it is possible. The glass breaks to the south (mentioned in the cutscene) so its just a straight run to the door.

Castle of Doom by emveyh 2013-08-26T21:40:00

Seems to be a lot of leaps of faith boo-hiss :P
Needs a little delay in between levels, sometimes I'd be running right, and then the next stage would start, and now I just walked off a ledge into some lava before I had a chance :(
Love the graphics and music!

ROBOT PLANET by GeorgeBroussard 2013-08-26T22:08:00

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

The world beneath by Spotline 2014-05-08T12:03:00

Cool atmosphere, lighting looks great. Wasn't able to get very far down, as I kept ending up in dead ends with no way back out :(

ScubaBear by _Rilem 2014-05-01T14:39:00

King of the Sea! This is awesome, love the whole thing, reminds me of that Kirby Treasure Hunt game. Did the beard make me swim faster? H..ow?

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-04-30T12:31:00

Love the art and ambience. Was really enjoying it, but I don't think I can beat it. That wall jump/climb thing was so hard I assumed I was in the wrong place, but other people have commented on it... there's no way I can get up there, my fingers won't let me =/ Would love to have been able to see the whole thing. If anyone does a video playthrough of this, please let me know, I'd love to see what I'm missing.

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-04-30T12:35:00

To double check, as maybe I am missing something:
I am here: http://black-moth.net/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/hardjump.png
And I have the double jump and wall climb abilities. Is there something else I need that makes this easier?

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-04-30T20:01:00

Well that's weird... I downloaded Joy2Key, and tried again with a gamepad, got the wall jump first try. Strange, I had no idea it made that much difference to me... cos no way was I ever getting up there with keyboard.
Your game has made me find out a thing about myself, huzzah?!

Burrow Down by danbo 2014-05-01T12:52:00

Really fun! I accidentally clicked middle difficulty after going all the way to the last one on hard D: died hoping it would let me re-choose, and ended up at a victory screen o_o
Started again, hard mode all the way :D

UNDERQUEST by Tweak 2014-04-29T12:09:00

Cool game, I like the visuals. Some places were a little hard to see what was going on behind walls, the camera could probably be a little higher to solve that maybe.

Ad Astra by Cosmologicon 2014-05-04T12:37:00

I was able to accidentally sequence break and get the wing upgrade before visiting Brite :P Unfortunately it crashed two towns later when I was on the way to Querda :( I assume I was almost at the end, especially judging by that map.
Idea of using a jump as an attack is pretty cool, makes you need to think about your surroundings before trying to kill enemies. Cool game.

Beneath the surface by devince 2014-04-28T13:09:00

Love the idea, trying to figure out the different agendas, time limit going by with every question you ask causing nice panic feel. I can't figure out how to land though something always seems to go wrong. Will hopefully come back when there might be some more hints in the comments :)

Water SkiFree by OddballDave 2014-04-30T11:14:00

I like the idea, the controls are good, but it's very hard. And rarely did I die thinking it was my fault, it was usually a 'well, there's no way I could have possibly avoided that situation' or because there doesn't seem enough distinction between the ones that are deep enough to swim over, and the ones that will kill you. Would maybe be a little easier if it was a little more zoomed in to the guy.
High score: 1196

Under the Sea by Luis Anton 2014-04-30T13:19:00

High score 1003 :D

Water Hazard by Hemuuuli 2014-05-02T12:57:00

Oh god D: I was just playing this constantly muttering 'this is awesome' the entire time - this is exactly the kind of thing I want to make with Unity (or whatever I can make in) but I've never actually seen anyone do a RE-style game in it before, and then to see it in a jam? GAH Amazing. My own weird love for the genre aside, the game is incredibly well done and atmospheric, great job :D

Drilling Enthusiast by Jellycakes 2014-04-30T13:01:00

Cool idea. Shame no time for ending.
I think possibly the reason people aren't seeing the further pages of instructions, is that A/D to cycle look like it is telling you game controls, not how to scroll through pages of instructions :P a "page 1 of X" would have made it clear there were more controls.

PORTHOLE by Ragzouken 2014-05-08T12:10:00

Cool atmosphere. Nice ending :)

Squddingly Splendid Diving Simulator by Cryovat 2014-05-03T13:40:00

Cool idea, has potential. The limitation of only being able to drop things from the surface could really create some interesting challenges.

Yumbugs by Hypnohustla 2014-04-30T10:44:00

This was great XD
I'm so glad I don't get scored on how many made it in the door, cos most levels it was just one :P

Haunted Mine by acerunox 2014-05-03T13:05:00

Sounded like an interesting idea, if those features aren't actually in the game you should make that clearer in the description because I assumed the scare mechanic etc were present and thought something was wrong.

Beneath Wireframe by Manuel Magalhães 2014-04-28T15:12:00

My pixel seemed to just rotate around my mouse at some points, making it completely impossible. When that didn't happen, seemed fun after I got the hang of what I was doing. Is a little hard to tell which shapes have been made safe and which are still harmful.

The Big Blue by Impmaster 2014-05-01T13:08:00

There's Something Beneath the Surface at Coral Cave by BoaHeck_ArtGent 2014-05-13T13:08:00

This has potential, but I think the penalty for failure is too big considering the time it takes to build up decent equipment, and then to lose everything, agh :( I think losing your funds, and possibly one upgrade, would have been plenty punishment enough.
I couldn't have won anyway though, as the harpoons didn't fire for me nine times out of ten =/

The Last Beacon by Katamori 2014-04-28T13:38:00

Some really cool ideas. Some puzzles seemed to just involve waiting for a laser to cut through a dozen rocks, or had simpler solutions than the level seemed to suggest, but a lot of good puzzle pieces, with more polish than this time limit allowed this could have some really challenging puzzles. Controls for moving around felt a little awkward, like trying to get into a gap while climbing meant pressing space to let go of the rope, then quickly tapping left to try and get in, unless I was doing that wrong?

The game ending text was cut off as the text started at the left of the screen, but the status/time/level box was still on screen, so I missed the first couple words on every line :(

Ghost Story by Yword 2014-05-01T13:32:00

Awesome graphics =o
Couldn't manage the boss, I suck D:

Underbelly by Sink 2014-04-30T11:46:00

I also fell off the edge of the world at that last red frog screen, it seemed like the obvious thing to do, as it was how you progressed every room up to that one...

I found the combat as the red frog a little frustrating, as a monster would hit me, then sit inside my hit box constantly hitting me, while my own attack only seemed to hit things outside of this range. I think if monsters had attacked you when next to you, rather than 'inside' you, so you could retaliate, that would have helped a lot.

Enjoyed the music and the art. The idea of starting as an egg and the path you choose determining your play style was really cool.

Questionable Submarine by TheLastBanana 2014-04-29T10:33:00

That's some challenging management of things there. Good job.

Beneath The Surface by mrfriedfish 2014-05-04T11:57:00

So the major problem here, and given the above comments I don't think I'm the only one to misunderstand this, is that it seemed at first like the gravity flipping was done by entering certain areas, like traps, this caused me to die many times without understanding what was really happening, you really need to explain to the player that the gravity is flipping on a timer, or it will (and did) just lead to incredible frustration. Once this was understood, I managed to beat it (I think? The game text said something about the 'heart of the world being deeper', so I dunno, if there's a deeper ending I didn't get it).
The timer is probably unnecessary, especially in a game where the player has to have patience to win.

Good job on finishing a game though, I'd just edit the information about the gravity timer into your description and people would have more fun with this.

SUBLEVEL ZERO by Lyje 2014-05-03T14:10:00

This is really impressive, love the visuals and the music. I find it hard to control, but this could be down to that I rarely every play any kind of flying games.

Gold Digger by uniquecorn 2014-05-01T13:48:00

Is there anything you can do when you run out of durability? I thought I might find a new pick in a chest, but I just got gold. If we're just playing for a high score, I ended with 660 :)

Subterranean by MarioY19 2014-05-06T10:39:00

It's an interesting idea, it's hard to use though, having to keep your eye on the minimap and your surroundings in a high speed race D: Would be more intuitive if the race track was parts asphalt and part dirt road, and you could only dig down on the dirt road parts. Also if the minimap would rotate to fit your orientation that would be helpful. The race is pretty challenging on its own, good job there :D

Sail by DrPrettyPatty 2014-05-13T12:16:00

On web version, my game froze when when I got the fifth and sixth map (at the same time, which seemed odd, I don't think I had twice the necessary fish) - music and animations continued, but I was frozen looking at octi :(
Restarted on download version, worked fine, got all treasures. Fun game! Love the visuals and the nice relaxing vibes :D

Daisy's dog is dead by alvarop 2014-04-28T14:59:00

Oh good, I thought with the theme and all this was going to be about burying the dog :S this is much better!
Nice gameplay, like others have said, would be nice to see what the notes are before clicking, as it is, you are pretty much guaranteed to die once in every level as you figure out what is what, which doesn't really seem necessary. Love the graphical style and fitting music :)

Theres's a Twist by Lucio 2014-04-28T14:30:00

Woah my head! Love the twist mechanic :D
Those are some really challenging puzzles, I somehow managed to beat them all, I feel accomplished =D

Mystic Castle by xerohuang 2014-04-29T10:20:00

Woops, I got out of the castle by glitching outside a wall and then fell forever through the sky D:
Guess I wasn't meant to do that... had to restart to complete it. Cool mechanic and level design.

Esc by Crumpet 2014-05-03T12:24:00

I don't think Burnside's perception of the game is really a 'problem with domestic violence' - it's how I was viewing the game, you drop objects on his head, treat him as an object, drag him around, he has absolutely no agency in the relationship... that really seems like a valid interpretation of the first part of the game, as it stands. Some of his dialogue points to a problem in the relationship, but by the time he started saying these things, I'd already been treating him pretty badly it seemed... it doesn't seem so much like he's refusing to do any of the work, but that he's not being allowed to, because all he is doing is what I tell him. Stand still. Wait. Come. Obviously none of that justifies dropping you down a pit or any of the stuff afterwards, it's just how the story came across up to that point.

Reading your explanation that she is trying to entertain him, he is being reluctant and refusing to do any of the work... that makes that all make sense now after reading your comment, but that could have been present in the game more, so that this confusion doesn't happen. It was all pretty clear in the latter half who the abuser was, of course, I just think it could be clearer at the start that you aren't making this guy stand still etc, but that he is making you do the puzzles. I enjoy doing the puzzles, so I assume my character does also, absent any narrative telling me otherwise. Maybe some dialogue saying why they are at the cave... or even if she explained some of this in the latter half, why they were there, why he was just following you around etc. it would preserve the twist but still explain that better.

That all said, this is a really good game, some interesting puzzles, good story despite my confusion at the start.

Beneath the surface, chasing the killer... by snake5 2014-05-03T13:54:00

Fun game. Nice mood and lighting. I'd like a hard mode, where you can only see the killer if he is in your flashlight beam >D

Beneath The Surface by adamwoolridge 2014-04-29T11:06:00

Cool concept, nice visuals when things explode =D

the Attack - Beneath the Surface by Franklin's Ghost 2014-04-28T14:00:00

Really love the visual design and the music! Music seemed to stop at about score 35 and didn't start again until I got to 50 though. Gameplay didn't seem to speed up or such, which would have improved it I think.

Under by Wings333 2014-05-02T12:35:00

Kind of cool, the way the level messes with your head. I did get stuck on the level geometry at times, which is kind of an issue when trying to run from a monster :P

Darkvision by vexille 2014-05-04T12:05:00

Cool atmosphere, I enjoyed the later challenging levels :)

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-04-30T12:01:00

That is a weird way to carry a cat around!
Cool game. I like the way the music shifts when you have to kill things.

RAW by ekun 2014-04-29T11:58:00

Cool game, I like the bullet bouncing mechanic a lot. That last guy was a real challenge :D Theme seems lacking though?
Didn't seem able to close the game without opening task manager, which is a little annoying.

The Gathering by oatsbarley 2014-04-29T10:37:00

Weird, I was playing it, I totally messed up so reloaded page and got a 404. Now the link isn't working =/

The Gathering by oatsbarley 2014-05-01T11:30:00

Cool, game worked now. Once I had a better idea of what I was doing it was pretty fun. I like the art style, feels like its all made out of paper.

Beneath the well by JaJ 2014-05-04T12:58:00

Woah, really great challenge, took me ages to figure out =D

In Hiding by Sheepolution 2014-04-29T10:56:00

Whew this is tough, I couldn't last more than a few investigations despite a few tries, don't want to choke baby to make it easier D:
Very tense, great concept!

Inspector Badass by Elisée and friends 2014-05-01T14:08:00

Haha, Press X to investigate was great. This is really awesome! Love the art. Very hard though, but then... roguelike... part of the point I guess. Well done!

Coin Diver by VDZ 2014-04-28T14:49:00

Score: 240 =D
Really fun game, good challenge. Had to try a few times to surface with a decent score :) Music alerting to your oxygen levels is a really good touch.
You do seem to stick to walls a little, not sure if intended or not though.

Sub Terraria Zero by Photon 2014-05-08T21:09:00

Got stuck in a pit with no ammo to do the fire jump out, the bats wouldn't kill me and the green thing in the ground wasn't coming, had to restart :( Restarted from start, got stuck on a purple fire breathing monster and couldn't move. Was enjoying it until these problems occurred. Would like to play if this was fixed (even if not to fix the getting trapped/getting stuck, but just adding a suicide/respawn at last save button)

Nereids' Sea by Tifu 2014-04-29T00:32:00

VDZ: If you got right up to the treasure, you're not really missing anything - there's a tiny tiny tiny scripted scene and then it ends. There's no further gameplay to judge after you reach it.

I agree with AI stuff, I'd certainly have done it a lot differently if I had more time/was more familiar with coding such things in Unity.

Thanks for checking out my game everyone :D

Nereids' Sea by Tifu 2014-05-05T15:29:00

640? You were walking away from the treasure =/

Drill18: The Mars Project by quill18 2014-05-01T12:19:00

This is so awesome. Would be nice if it showed how much a drill extension would cost before you click it, and if the different workers wore different coloured hats or something so you know who is running around.
Things do escalate a little quickly, could be more challenging with rooms costing more money to build in deeper levels, or drill rooms running out of ore to mine and having to be moved around, but this is really awesome for the 48 hours :O

Eskimo Run by locknic 2014-04-29T11:14:00

Good idea with the above and below surface choice, but it seemed for the most part it was easier to just stay on the surface. I think a couple of sections should have required diving more. Good challenge though, it took a good few tries to beat the last level :D

LD30 — Connected Worlds

Nexxuz by rustybroomhandle 2014-09-04T12:03:00

Great idea, never heard of assets being made in minecraft before, that's pretty cool :D
The enemies seem to be able to die if you hit them way off screen, once I was fully charged, I even killed a couple of bosses before they were anywhere near me :P I'd probably make them invincible until the player is closer to them.
I like that the upgrades are visible on the ship, and they really make you feel like progress is being made D

Heart Star by AdventureIslands 2014-08-28T13:25:00

This is the cutest thing =D
Fun game, levels are nice, but it only gets a little challenging at the end, would have liked to have seen what the next few more difficult levels might have been like :)

The Amazed Rogue by UntitledQ 2014-08-31T23:10:00

I got pretty far I think, but I tabbed out, came back, and had lost the ability to fire lasers, or do you run out? Couldn't progress after that.

The mechanic is really cool, and somehow despite the complexity of the maze with multiple planes, I always seemed to find my way to the goal, which is yay.

Space Horror by arzi 2014-08-29T12:21:00

I was enjoying this, but I seem to have gotten stuck somehow, nowhere has any energy cubes, and there's not any away-mission events popping up either... I've been going round and round destroying horde ships - I can now take out even the Juggernaut in one hit - but somehow the horde just keep getting stronger (I get that's just a timer thing, but seeing as I'm an invincible starship of ultimate destruction at this point... pretty sure I can take them on :P) I still need two portals built, and there's just no energy coming from anywhere. I did find one planet that respawned some EC after an away mission, but it only happened once and I've just been stuck at 7 EC ever since =/
Could be really cool if polished up to have better balance and such. Nice idea, enjoyed it up until getting stuck :)

The Veiled World by panurge 2014-08-27T13:02:00

Fun game, would have liked a health bar, I had no idea I even was dying first time and thought my punishment for hits was just being repelled from the veil, until blood! everywhere! :P
Managed to beat it as the ranger, died as everyone else :D

Four Worlds by MrJavaFrank 2014-09-02T13:28:00

Woah awesome, really clever things done with this. Managed to beat it, that bit with the 1 bullet, 4 ice cubes thing was tricky :D
One issue is that in some areas, if one world jumps past a pressure pad, hits a checkpoint, then they can screw it up for the world that has the door forcing you to restart from previous. It's not a big issue, I guess it's my fault for not stopping to deal with the pressure pad really :P but I did it without even noticing in the tutorial area :P

House of Demise (Horror/Puzzle) by RawboSaurX 2014-08-29T11:51:00

Cool game, wish it had a save function. I made a bit of progress, got two artefacts, then got attacked by ghost with no ammo to defend myself D:
Doors seem kind of buggy, the W appearing when you aren't in the correct spot/only being able to exit through a specific door when you can see there are double doors etc.
Good job though. Great atmosphere. Will look forward to polished version :D

Teleporter Escape! by kyru 2014-08-31T22:01:00

Very hard indeed! Regening health between levels might have been fairer. I got as far as level two :P

Shattered by guimonpa 2014-09-01T11:48:00

Very cool. I liked what happened when you get 20 orbs, after getting the gold... rope thing... from really high up, I couldn't make it back out though cos I got frustrated doing the same jumps over and over, then dying on spikes way to the left D:
I assume I was pretty near the end though.
Nice graphics, I especially like the effect of G forces on the guy when you jetpack around :D

Parallel Rift by liquidminduk 2014-09-01T11:17:00

"so I have added a smaller screen version for those with laptops." dude, I have a desktop and can't fit the default version on my monitor :P
This is really cool, the only major thing I would say it's lacking is a #runs at once displayed when you die, I don't have a clue what my max run was cos it was so awesomely hectic :D I think I got around 12 or 14 after a few tries, but unsure.

Corrected Words by swistakm 2014-08-31T21:47:00

I just get a black screen for a second, then it closes :(
No error message, just a program appears to try to start, then fails to do so. Windows version.

Mirror Worlds by malf 2014-09-02T12:57:00

Good concept. Maybe I'm dim, but some of the levels don't seem to be asymetrical, so I have no idea how to get past my mirror self =/
Other people have though, so... I'm missing something I think...

Stargate Express by xxmicloxx 2014-08-31T22:17:00

Really like the visual bubbles around the player, not sure if it had any use as a mechanic as I didn't get too far but looked cool. Little too hard/frustrating for me. Very easy to die, and respawn very far back :(

Going to Other Planets by jonnopon3000 2014-08-29T13:04:00

Oh cool, stargate buddies :D
Pretty good work for your first try at a language (or first released thing with a language?), especially with ambitious idea!

Wormhole Escape by Orz 2014-08-29T12:47:00

Heh, nice idea. The varying speed of the villagers makes it really challenging to keep them all alive :D
I got to level 14 or so before my last guy croaked :(

Breach of Dimensions by ursagames 2014-08-29T12:37:00

For some reason I really love that you can jump and then roll in mid-air :D I got as far as the boss (I assume the fire spewing guy is the end boss anyway), pretty cool game.

Trappy Tomb by jimmypaulin 2014-09-04T11:07:00

I like this idea and take on the theme, but the collision with the pits!? Aghhh. I think even in the post-compo version it could be improved a bit, I still sometimes seemed to die by hitting a pit with my head =/

Shifted by Scipio Xaos 2014-09-02T13:08:00

Cool puzzles! Wish it had been a little longer to expand on some more things that could be done here :D

Space Gate Command by Tifu 2014-09-01T14:00:00

@malf: odd, it should only send you back to the start screen if you run out of funds or your commander dies, neither was happening when this happened to you?

Wyrmhole by njmcode 2014-08-31T22:43:00

Nice retro arcade-y feel. I feel like the spawning ships need to be telegraphed more, they have that particle effect, but then they are invisible for a few second before they pop in - I think if they faded in during that transition (similar to what your ship does when invincible) I'd be better able to not crash into them as they spawn :D
High score 148,750 :D

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

CoinSlot by SuperDisk 2014-12-21T22:10:00

This unfortunately crashed my PC, I had to turn the power off :S
I think it was the webplayer, rather than the game (I had this page running in the background while I played) as it is currently trying to load on this page and making my typing incredibly slow... the global machine also wouldn't work in Chrome. So I can't see the full picture :(

Nice idea, would probably be pretty challenging if the synchroniser was removed, though I guess you were going more for an interesting communal creation experience over challenge :P
Maybe upload a video of the global machine after the competition so I can see the whole thing? :D

Leaving by My Sweet Whomp 2014-12-13T21:46:00

I got all the parts but I can't figure out what the next step is, everyone is saying the same things =/
Good game, love the animations, good humorous problem solving.

Finish Your Project by AgentParsec 2014-12-12T01:48:00

Very meta.
Cute mouse! I liked the ending a lot. It took me like 50 minutes to get there though, could have been a lot shorter =/

Hard Winter by Taldius 2014-12-12T20:00:00

Nice twist on tower defence! My lil nitpick is the magnifying lens screen does get in the way of the main battlefield which is a bit annoying/obscures the cannons you are trying to manage. Good job.

Tower Falling by dalbinblue 2014-12-15T17:10:00

Love this. I feel I would have loved it a lot more if checkpoints had been every level instead of having to repeat later levels over and over. But good game, love the graphics and the puzzle design.

Screen Mover by Sh1rogane 2014-12-12T20:09:00

Great idea! Could have done with a checkpoint after the moving platforms though D:

A Maze in Space by GSM Productions 2014-12-12T15:01:00

Fun game! My best score was 38.

REPROPULSOR by blackcode 2014-12-15T17:40:00

Died 40 times but I made it! Very difficult to control, so I gave up on any hope of getting all the score dots after about level three :P

Snowman Stacker by dook 2014-12-17T14:36:00

Nice idea, pretty hard to get the proportions right, but it feels like the right level of difficulty for this kinda thing.

Putting the instructions in-game probably helps, I know they are right there on the webpage, but people do pay more attention to things when they are forced to :P I played a few rounds just making weird upside down snowmen in as few shots as possible before I realised that wasn't actually the objective, and the game was a lot more interesting with the real objective :)

Game of the Probability Goose by Alexandre Szybiak 2014-12-12T19:42:00

The dice decision system is really cool, really clever mechanic!
My two little critiques: When you're going 'up' near the end of the board, your head obscures what the square above you is - and when a bot won on a 4 player game, the game ended immediately putting me in third place (second place was still a possibility, if the second AI had got some bad rolls/I had got some good ones :P)

Hyper Soccer by klianc09 2014-12-17T14:52:00

Woah that AI is really good :O (well, aside from the grappler on my team grabbing me a lot...) I imagine that is pretty challenging for a sports game, especially given time limit. Good job, fun game with interesting specialisations.

Using an Xbox pad, the movement seemed jittery, like I would lose momentum every second or two for a nanosec, was a lot smoother when I switched to being WASD controlled.

You're Blocking The Screen! by LoneStranger 2014-12-12T00:46:00

Nice idea! Would be better I feel if the game in the game was one with a win condition.

Scan Lines by KilledByAPixel 2014-12-17T15:05:00

61 deaths! Made it! That was awesome, great use of theme, really challenging! Great job!

Boss Rush by Nick Weihs 2014-12-15T22:52:00

Yay, another boss rush :D
This is really good, nice difficulty curve, the axe guy in particular was a real challenge (glad you included checkpoints... unlike mine :P), though eventually he succumbed to the same weakness as the others - back them into a corner and spamhit them so they can't launch any attack of their own :P

Ab Intra by Yarek 2014-12-16T21:49:00

Cool atmosphere and art, controls could have been a bit better - for example, the mouse icon kept changing back to the default use, when if I have it set to 'look' its probably because I want to look at several things, would be a little more convenient if it just stayed as what it was last at. Text was a little difficult to read too, with the colour choice, and no outline or border on the font. But overall, good short interactive horror experience. Huzzah.

Frostbite by ShellfishGames 2014-12-15T17:31:00

Is... that a darkbasic icon? I don't think I've seen a DB entry before =o
This is really impressive, I was fully expecting a "oh, two games? yeah, and neither one is going to be much, right?" but mind blown! This is really good.
That first bit with "also: snowman" made me laugh out loud, good jobs :P

Rooms by Pix3M 2014-12-16T22:08:00

Cool atmosphere, love the pixel art :3
Had to use walkthrough once to realise I had to pick up one of the cards - I had looked at the cards more than once, didn't realise I had to look at them more than once without moving away to trigger new dialogues.

20 Days at Sea by bitserum 2014-12-21T01:31:00

Great game! Was really difficult to make it to day 20 without doing unspeakable things. Great ending :o

Only issue was character would never dive off the left side of the boat, but pretty minor thing.

Yuki and Snow by Raiyumi 2014-12-21T01:44:00

I love the interface and everything, the way the text boxes pop up is really good. Nice music. Nice graphics. I just can't figure out anything though, I've rubbed every item I have against every other item and am all out of things :P

Mobius Dungeon by nesis 2014-12-12T15:35:00

Love the idea, has a lot of potential. Want more :D

Spiral Wings by Joe Williamson 2014-12-15T23:00:00

Beautiful!
Didn't feel like I was 'finding' the souls so much as waiting for them to show up though. But flying around in circles and swooping around felt nice anyway, would enjoy this expanded on to have more interactivity of some kind, so I can fly around some more :)

Dimensions by mystakin 2014-12-13T00:24:00

Clever twist! Nice job

The Corsair Bay by Ekilibr 2014-12-15T15:58:00

I wasn't able to get anywhere, the game window takes up my whole screen, and there still seems to be platforms off screen/can't see the ground. Some hackers spawned off screen so I couldn't see them to reach them :( I'm playing on 1600x900 resolution.

Dino Dash: Rex's Run by Mechatodzilla 2014-12-17T14:21:00

Clever, with the fake LCD you literally can see the entire game on one screen, every possible game state :D

Attack of the Screen Scrollers by drludos 2014-12-21T00:29:00

Clever idea! Really challenging.

birdsong by managore 2014-12-13T00:15:00

For a few seconds I was wondering about the theme, then my mind exploded :O really cool effect! Great job.
Really fun game too, perfect amount of challenge.

shootAbox by skulioskarsson 2014-12-15T15:49:00

Not bad for a first game! Keep it up.

Ricochet Heroes by spotco 2014-12-18T16:21:00

Lacking in theme, but really great game! Super fun. Great music and art too!

Man on the Field by Double Zero One Zero 2014-12-13T20:36:00

Kind of bright happy music for what is going on =p

Kevin's uncommon story by Zimennik 2014-12-19T23:20:00

Really awesome level design! Good challenging but fair levels.

Last Night by ThDen_Wheja_756 2014-12-16T21:39:00

The two bars probably should be labelled, at first I though the one on the right was time and the one on the left was some kind of fear bar, as I only noticed it after the first bloodstain appeared, led me to play differently than I would have - ie I probably didn't need to keep my eyes shut as long as I did. I survived the night though, yay.

Fabulous Escape by HolyBlackCat 2014-12-15T16:49:00

I suppose that is one way to interpret the theme =P
Interesting game, I really wish I could just press 'up' to repeat the last command entered, would have saved some annoyance in that first room typing longjump a lot.
Good job!

Cubed by LoHii 2014-12-16T22:29:00

Sometimes I am rendered unable to select items from inventory, had to restart twice :(
Good game, I had to consult the walkthrough a couple of times, partly cos I didn't know what some items even were... hovertext over items saying what they are would have been good.
I didn't figure out where to get the padlock code on my own, but that was really clever, and I recognise that I had all the clues available and can only feel shame for not figuring it out :P
Good job!

Rescue the princess by eruiz00 2014-12-15T22:23:00

Jumping is too difficult to precisely manoeuvre the character, I could only get past the red bats by sacrificing over half my lives... and then I get the chest telling me I need to go back to the lake? Impossible for me. Seems like I'd really love this if the jumping was improved.

Kuch Bhi ! by bORAT 2014-12-17T15:31:00

Good concept, very challenging.
I kind of feel with a game like this, where you can fail often, and very quickly, you want that 'replay' button to get you right back into the game, I know its just one extra click, but it does make a difference.
Sometimes the ball can stick on the back of your... circle things... still slightly visible, but facing slightly away from the game board, and the game continues playing despite any move you make firing the ball off screen and making you lose, ideally the game should autofail you in this condition to save player time.

Snowman Saving by Johan Blade 2014-12-12T13:19:00

Good game. Nice risk reward with the trail of snowmen/increasing number of kids etc.
Audio didn't work for me, I assume it had audio as there are audio files, but nothing ever played. Playing on Windows.

One Screen Story by BK-TN 2014-12-10T00:29:00

I really liked this! I love the exploration, and the challenge area at the end was a good conclusion. Kudos!

Cool idea, I beat the game, but somehow the sliding tile puzzles (screenshot 3) never showed up for me? All I ever did with the computers was rotate the rooms to the correct position so I could make it up higher, but it looks like there was something else in the game from that screenshot? =/

Trapped by theshadowteam 2014-12-12T15:21:00

Nice idea with the overhead view of the school, darkened rooms where you can't see what might be happening in them... creates nice mood. I was going to comment on not being a fan of "you looked at a thing, now this thing will kill you" mechanics in exploration based games, but on second play trying to get good ending I realised you could just leave the room and the ghost stops - not too obvious as the ghost is clearly shown walking through walls to reach you =P
Any small hints on how to get the good ending? I couldn't figure it out.

Cam16 by GhostBomb 2014-12-24T00:17:00

This is a really good idea, I couldn't figure out how to win though... cam 03 didn't have an item (did it have one at the start? I could have swore it did... but I never picked one up and its gone now if there was one) and I can't reach the top of cam 07 (I assume there's a double jump or something, but I couldn't find one?) I solved most of the other rooms though. Good job.

Starring Annika by makebabi.es 2014-12-12T20:34:00

If only there was a category for cute D=

I tried Arcade mode after beating normal, and around round 5 or 6 I seemed to become immortal! The space aliens no longer seemed to be doing damage. Aside from that little oddity, nice game.

You Are Lost by farwyler 2014-12-15T23:25:00

Yay, I made it! That... seems like a lot more than one screen :P
I think having the footprints being permanent for your three-lives would have been a nice touch, and helped you get around.
Great graphics, nice atmosphere. I did die once while in a safe spot, I was trying to lure wolves to one side of the fire so I could escape at the other, they ran through the safe spot, and presumably that killed me, but I didn't get the bloodied animation.

Snake Runner by istlemin 2014-12-15T16:16:00

I liked the idea, but I can't play it... ducking doesn't seem to work for me, as it automatically uncrouches and gets me killed so the whole thing is impossible (tried in opera and firefox), and the java popup thing is annoying - the game using WASD and arrows means both hands are on keyboard, but then I have to move to the mouse to click OK and then refresh the page to restart...
I'd love to see this polished though, the mechanic sounds really good from what little I saw of it.

BREAK by someoneman 2014-12-13T00:40:00

People with problems with running out of space: WASD moves the game window, its in the README D:

Cool idea! Controls feel a little weird with the floatiness, but I see why that is needed for the end stuff. Good job.

One prob: I think its possible to get into a dead end if you go down to the laser area before you collect all the gems at the top, can't seem to get back up due to spikes. Had to restart to do it the other way and finish properly.

The Lonely Realm of Tom Thaum, the Space Wizard by JJEvil 2014-12-13T21:21:00

I get its for the theme and all, but I feel too much information is off screen - maybe tower planet should have been smaller? At times the top of my tower was off screen at the bottom, so my ability to protect it from meteors was incredibly hampered, made the whole process of trying to build and protect the tower seem a pretty futile effort. I think if I could see what I'm doing this would be a pretty fun game.

RIZUMUDEKATTO by EquipeJAM 2014-12-15T15:34:00

Playing with gamepad is kind of annoying as every time I die it reverts to the main screen which will only let me input by keyboard =/
The point at which you need to press the button should be clearer to the player, it felt intuitive to wait till they were very close but this got me killed. Flashing the button prompt white when it needs to be pressed maybe?
Of course seeing as you can just spam the button to win, that doesn't really matter anyway... but for a rhythm game you shouldn't be able to spam buttons so I tried not to :P

Graphics and music very good.

Miscreations by AndrejsKlavins 2014-12-15T22:35:00

Good idea, fun game, I'm not a fan of mouse controls for this, WASD and Arrow Keys would have been better I feel. I like the random creations that can occur, very bizarre! I could only get as far as round three though :D
One kinda big problem is, when you kill a boss your guy is frozen until you click 'next' - but enemy missiles and bullets still can harm you during this time, very unfair!

bug I found: I held up key, the guy walked to the wall at the top, seemed to bounce off it, I tried again and just kept holding up key and... he then bounced all the way off the bottom of the screen where he is stuck to this day :(
I think this is true of all directions, but I only tested it with the top wall.

Escape Velocity by Warpgames 2014-12-15T22:06:00

Managed to get all three endings! Nice game, great atmosphere and graphics.

Avoidotron by StabAlarash 2014-12-10T00:39:00

Cool, jumping to higher platforms could probably be better.
Am I getting hurt when Santa hits the ground? If so, I feel that could be more clearly conveyed to player, I think I died a few times from that without realising... best score 32

Quiet Life by VDZ 2014-12-15T15:13:00

After several tries, I lasted 1133 turns - cause of death: too many sheep blocking the way to my tomato patch resulting in starvation :P I'll have to try out the post-LD version later, was having fun, even though I couldn't figure out how to make most of the possible items. I couldn't even figure out how to get the fire working. Though I enjoy the mystery and exploration on that front.
I managed to survive through the winter on tomatoes. Are the tomatoes supposed to be an option here? The game description implied my food options would be reduced, so I assumed the plants would stop growing but they kept producing food for me all winter.

Shifting Dungeon by codeapparat 2014-12-13T20:59:00

Cool idea! Took a few tries to get to the end boss - seems to be a bit random as to whether I hit him or he hits me, so even with full health he ended up winning =[
Good game to that point, would be better if the money had some purpose, some random shopkeep sliding in who can sell upgrades or something. At least, if there is anything like that, it never showed up.

Deicide by Tifu 2014-12-11T02:03:00

VDZ: Thanks for the huge feedback, really appreciated. I don't disagree with anything - particle effects for various things (hits, charging your guantlet, dust when the pillars collapse...) would have been the next thing on my to-do list if I had had an extra hour or two to work with. Though, yeah, perhaps I should have done one less boss and implemented some sfxr sounds for feedback etc. at least.

I did think of taking the dash mechanic out, but there is one very specific circumstance where you need it to get out of a situation without taking damage, namely if the Starfish is above you on the left or right, and starts doing the spreading out attack, then you can't jump out of the way, so the only way to escape was the dash across the pit. When I coded it, I expected it to have more uses, and then when I was thinking I should just take it out, I'd have had to change a lot of how the starfish battle worked, and I wouldn't have had time to get that going.

It's not said anywhere in game, but re your comment about the God of Nightmare being the final boss, the Gods should appear in whatever order you destroyed their statues in. Though, now I think about it... given where I placed him he is probably usually the last boss and I should have placed his statue in the centre where he would be more likely to be attacked first... wups

Orion by feiss 2014-12-18T16:06:00

Runs really bad in Safari, with gameplay stuttering every few seconds, making the timing for the countdown absolutely impossible (tried three or four times, much frustration) - downloaded Chrome, worked fine in that.

Really impressive graphics, though.. the planet being there all the time is certainly weird =P
Not much interaction once you get into space and jetison the things, probably needs some kind of "oh no the thing is overheating, do the coolants" "there's a problem! radio Huston and they'll tell you what to do" kind of disaster or the like. Ideally some randomised things of that nature to really keep people engaged through several playthroughs. Obviously you wouldn't have had time for that here, but as you're considering working on this further, then those are suggestions I guess :P

Orion by feiss 2014-12-18T16:07:00

Sorry, I meant runs really bad in Firefox. Don't know why I said Safari.

LD37 — One room

1RC Your Forever Room by Kerr 2016-12-13T23:45:00

Looks really nice, funny. I assume there is no end?
It didn't work too great for me, but I am on the medium to low end of being able to run VR at all. Additionally to tech sometimes objects would stick to my hand unable to drop, or jump into my hand from across the room when I try to grab something else.

1RC Your Forever Room by Kerr 2016-12-13T23:46:00

Looks really nice, funny. I assume there is no end? I had to stop when some items got stuck to my hands and I couldn't drop them.
It didn't work too great for me, but I am on the medium to low end of being able to run VR at all.

Right Here by Hiinds 2016-12-14T00:43:00

Not going to rate this as it doesn't seem to be working for me. Weird issues, most of the time when I run this, I am completely unable to turn around. Sometimes, I can turn around but very slowly. Walking is fine, so it's not general slowdown. One time I just fell through the world immediately :(

Light in the Dark by afinkyu_Pheaky 2016-12-18T02:48:00

Cool idea with the different methods to get around the different monsters, but it seems unmanageable when they team up on you with different types at once D= I am not sure what is going on with the bottom left, it seems hard to get through and I'm not sure if there is a pattern to which lights should go on in order or if its just not registering that I hit some of the lights? I couldn't see a doll that hinted at any clue to this, perhaps I missed one in a bundle of monsters... also not sure what i am to do in the top left, spell out "DOLL"? Couldn't get that to work if so but maybe I am way off on that idea =D

I got the teleporting bug others have reported, but only seemed to happen after I used any of the teleporters at least once.

Together in the Void by procedural_love 2016-12-29T20:48:00

That is a really awesome visual effect, don't think I've seen this done in Unity before. Works well with these puzzles, good job! Little short, but that is probably better than repeating puzzle ideas with just different layouts.

The Path to Freedom by TheProClaimedOmnivore 2016-12-14T01:16:00

So I think something is going weird here, I run the tutorial and... I'm able to immediately just click on the safe and get the key, without entering a code onto the pad on the left. But I can't use the key to get out at all.
Other things lead me to think this game just isn't running correctly for me, so I'll hold off on rating, like shift+E does nothing, I can't pick up things like the documents, and the above comment referring to randomly generated numbers which doesn't seem to be present when I ran the game several times.

What's Inside? by iamkraya 2016-12-19T12:48:00

The lighting effect hurt my eyes x_x
Good job though, getting the crowbar seemed odd solution, and it seems weird you can't even try to open the drawer in the first room. The same/similar room becoming more chaotic is a good mood increase D

flwr truss plus by wscones 2016-12-13T13:03:00

I got as far as picking up a large portal and dropping it in the outbox, but nothing changed, it didn't seem to register the flower in the box =(

Solitude (VR) by neon 2016-12-13T23:33:00

Pretty cool experience, would be better with more to it - like if a mountain painted next to a water source had a chance of spawning a waterfall or something, so that you could experiment with combinations to see what you can create... but yeah, time limits...
Really does remind me of the Shelter video though :D

American Life by headlein 2016-12-13T13:32:00

I could only find two numbers... one I just saw because I clipped through an object... which surely isn't the intended route. I saw no way to move the vending machine though.

Intro is cool, but should probably be skippable as I had to restart a couple of times because items sometimes fell through the floor (especially the notes)

American Life by headlein 2016-12-19T23:46:00

O..k... looking at the tutorial, no wonder I couldn't find any solution to anything - I cannot move the soda machine, the couch, etc. What button am I supposed to press to move those? I can pick up smaller items like the cups and cans fine.

Goat and Gold VR by channie 2016-12-21T01:09:00

Cool, I didn't see any kind of high score of the gold and stuff I was eating at the end though? Nice range of interactive things to explore for loots :D

Tiny World by Ednei 2016-12-20T23:22:00

Is there only the one way back up to the main (exterior wall) section if you fall? I couldn't find any other way up, and couldn't find a way onto the center table at all. Seems harsh punishment, doing the same section several times because I fell, got trapped in a sink, or missed a molecule while falling is not super fun :(

Seems like it could be pretty fun if expanded, maybe with shortcuts you can activate (like dropping a box off a high ledge so you can get back easier if you fall) - I didn't encounter anything like that, so if that is in the game please correct me and I'll give it another shot :P

Feng Shui Deathmatch VR by Alex 2016-12-13T15:14:00

Good adaptation of story, great atmosphere. Everything makes sense in the end! And no cliche jumpscare of her killing you in the end, huzzah!

OneRoom Farmer by badabooom63 2016-12-18T01:41:00

Nice idea! It didn't seem like I had to rely too much on the positive/negative boosts though. I guess I'd have gotten to the end quicker if I had made full use of them, but using the carrot next to the expensive stuff seemed to do the trick anyway :P

Toilet Escape Room by wdebowicz 2016-12-14T13:51:00

Good job, pretty simple, but some cool stuff. Don't usually see doors opened like that in escape room puzzles, nice XD

Blob Catcher by drludos 2016-12-29T21:26:00

9837 points! I tried really hard to get over 10k but that was my closest D=
I thought from the screenshots this was going to be a fairly simple game, but the mechanics of having to tie them together, and then trying to get two to draw together in such a way that they catch as many other blobs in their path to get high combos is really fun!

Blob Catcher by drludos 2016-12-29T21:44:00

Just tried one more go and got 14,952 :D

The 5th Room by ahmedmohi 2016-12-13T13:45:00

When I use the number entry pad I seem stuck on it. If I press enter nothing happens, if I press escape the prompt to enter the code disappears, but my camera rotation gets locked in place and I can no longer turn around. Happens in fullscreen and windowed :(

Neat (Ludum Dare 37) by HawkSandwich 2016-12-18T01:19:00

I am terrible at this, but fun new way of doing a memory game. I love how everything explodes out of place every round :D

RoomZoom by TheSambassador 2016-12-13T23:08:00

This is a really great idea! I've never had to crawl around in a VR game before :P Would love to see this developed if there were more mechanics to fill out a full version with!

JazzHole by LoHii 2016-12-29T23:29:00

I think this desperately needs a shadow under the player to know where you are landing. I got to a point where I couldn't see any further platform to jump to and had to quit - it was the area where you jump onto a painting, then a drum that is moving back and forth - I couldn't see anything in either direction to land on from there =/
Great idea of expanding the room as you progress, sound and animation are also great!

Chemical Chaos by danielilett 2016-12-31T21:48:00

Trying to keep track of everything is pretty difficult, the only one I had completely under control was the temperature control :D I am not sure what to do with the things that require a green or purple bunsen, mebbe I am missing something obvious.

Team Therapy by Catwheel 2016-12-20T14:57:00

I played solo (and had to look up solution to the sound puzzle, because I am unable to do those, so thanks for including the guide!) but this seems like it would be a really fun multiplayer thing, the little gags between puzzles are really good too :D

Abducted by HUMANICS 2016-12-18T01:07:00

I kept falling down and couldn't get out... unless I'm mistaken that I'm supposed to jump up stacked boxes to get out. Found the key though at least =D

Elevator staff simulator 1932 by jordgubben 2016-12-29T21:05:00

Nice idea and use of the theme. I managed to get two endings, the better of the two seemed to imply I could sort out the drowsy man's life too, I assumed by letting him out on the floor with the beds but this didn't seem to result in anything. Was there a thing I can do here?

Killing Room by Leeman 2016-12-18T01:58:00

I like the upgrade mechanic, getting stronger as you progress is always fun >D
Enemies spawning on top of you is the major problem here, and its the major reason for most of my hits, but I see you've fixed that for the post-comp version :)

Manifest My by irwatts 2016-12-13T14:18:00

Tried on Vive, worked for me. Though I initially thought it wasn't working, as I thought I had no way to move around until I read the comments, kind of clever movement idea, but I think considering how different it is from the norm' you'd be better conveying it to the player that they have no legs?

Horde Room by Tutti Ankka 2016-12-18T03:01:00

Like the music! <3
Most of what I was going to say Aun said already, particularly the "new wave" message appearing when you are still trying to deal with the current wave is a little odd/distracting, and the fast enemies can just latch onto you forever if they get too close. Invincibility frames, or making the enemy pause after attacking, would make this aspect a lot better.

Lock and reload by Avant-Marde 2016-12-18T00:49:00

Very satisfying figuring out the computer password :D
Nice mood, the visual effect on the screen looks really cool.

DedecoratorVR by fdr 2016-12-13T15:01:00

There seems to be an issue where (it seems) the game tries to put you above whatever object the headset is above, leading to me getting teleported into the sky if you go near blocks on occasion, and sometimes just catapulted into the void D:

I also had the same issue with the detonation cord not letting go so I couldn't really try out everything properly...

Pixel Artist Simulator by aamatniekss 2016-12-29T20:34:00

Awesome art! Funny/depressing stuff =D
I tried declining every offer without pay, until the last couple revenue percentage jobs, and died. Tried again and accepted everything, still died. Is there some way to survive or is this the crushing inevitability of life as an artist? :(

Room Escape by Tifu 2016-12-13T22:31:00

@eruiz00 - I don't know what you're saying at the first part?

@Humanics - I take it there aren't spoiler tags on this comment board... what code are you trying? Can you type it here in some way that won't spoil the answer/stand out to people browsing the comments? (onetwothreefour might be better/less obvious than 1234, or add fake numbers to every second digit - 1526374 for example?) or is the problem something else than the final code?

The One Room Experiment by Siegfried Croes 2016-12-29T21:58:00

Cool idea! Really challenging, took me a good few tries to get the final torch, kind of glad I didn't have to take the torches somewhere, I don't think I'd have made it out :P

Escape from Man Cave by Treborginho 2016-12-14T14:24:00

The question on King Kong gave me two answers of "2005" and the one I picked was wrong somehow |:
I tried again and... lost when the door opened... does this game have a time limit? Cos that seems pretty bad for a game that requires waiting for downloads/waiting through long trailers :S
Technically impressive of loading the video into the game, though. As others have said, having clues in the environment, on posters, maybe some news articles you could find, fake reviews and such would have improved this I think. Would make it possible for people who don't recognise a movie, and give you something to do while loading.

Jewel Defender by kd7uiy 2016-12-18T03:15:00

Nice idea of a tower defence kind of game but with physical traps rather than towers firing at the hordes. Just wish you started with more money to place more than a couple of starting towers, considering how fragile they are to fall down from one hit by an enemy D:

You Have Till 8 by JesseyCool 2016-12-14T14:50:00

Good job! Clever puzzle. #4 took me a while to figure out :D Couldn't find a clue for #1 though, do you just have to brute force/guess that one?

Great Collapse by Khaoz_Fang 2016-12-25T20:30:00

This is a pretty cool idea! Was a little too hard to dodge anything, especially if you get unlucky and get several large enemies at once. I was only able to get as far as the boss but not beat it.

Cyberhell Cleaner by EricQuagmire 2017-08-03T10:02:35Z

Great game, love the sprites! I was really confused at first why I couldn't buy anything - but then realised I didn't have enough score, I didn't see that displayed anywhere, would be nice to know how much things cost.

Great atmosphere, really liked trying to figure out the optimal route to not run out of pellets.

Static Man by tifu 2017-08-01T12:41:22Z

Yeah, my original intention was to make the ghost not spawn until a certain time has passed, then you'd have some time to explore and figure out a strategy, but due to some poor planning/decisions I was still coding victory and lose conditions in the last hour so I didn't manage to implement that =[

Static Man by tifu 2017-08-07T09:50:23Z

@Ava: There is only one entity yeah, it uses the in built Unity navmesh pathfinding, so which way it goes just depends on which way is the shortest to reach you. The entity cannot turn off lights, the power must have ran out I guess? If the power goes off it moves at maximum speed.

I had other ideas that never made it in... I had a run button until the last hour or so of the comp. But I couldn't get stamina done in time, so it made the game far too easy. I had an idea of having high powered lights (like on tripods) in a few spots that would use large amounts of power, but knock the entity out of action for a while, the entity would turn on some of the devices occasionally (the cooker/shower/radio) so you'd have to run around turning them off to save power - I wasted a lot of time modelling those items even though I didn't end up having time to code the effect they would have... yeah, bad planning on this one ^^;

I'll think about a post compo version, if I could get all that stuff put in it would probably make it playable D;

Power Chase by Thinkofname 2017-08-01T11:10:29Z

74.9s is my best. Occasionally the high score seemed to reset, I had it around 63 seconds, died a few times and it was 0 again. Good idea, the lighting is really nice and helps highlight the game concept.

Depths of Oceania by cnoble 2017-08-08T10:49:28Z

Seems fun, but because of the way aiming works, I kept clicking outside the game window. You should lock the cursor to the game window even in fullscreen mode, because if someone has two monitors, they can still click outside the game. This is, in my opinion, the kind of bug fix you could implement while still in submission for the compo.

Night Driver by nbitsstudio 2017-08-03T10:53:12Z

I got first and it said I was eighth :( - It may because I got eighth the first couple tries, maybe it didn't reset properly or something? Good job, love the visuals.

Robot Factory Attack 3D by Mcnuttys 2017-08-01T12:07:51Z

Not bad. Is there an actual ending? I played a few stages after the narration stopped, so I think I saw everything, but let me know if I should have kept playing for a thing. I think given the particle explosions you have going on, firing visible energy-looking bullets would have made this look way cooler than just instant hit shots, that may just be me.

Really awesome puzzles! Love it <3

I did encounter what seemed to be a bug, I got to a level where you start with two 25c coins, roll to the right, and there is a toll for 5c - when I tried to pay the money the prompt disappeared, but my coin stayed where it was and the door didn't open. Restarting level didn't help :(

Seems other people have got past this level from looking at comments though.

Dear Substance of Kin by Deconstructeam 2019-05-06T16:37:49Z

Very great atmosphere, the music, graphics and the dialogue all set a really great tone! Great work! I was stumped at the first hurdle though as I had no idea I was supposed to dip my finger in the blood (like others I thought it was about tracing the lines) until I read some comments, and does it matter which lines you cut? It seems like you should only be cutting lines relating to their request but I cut them all :P Possibly something that was explored more in the post jam version as it mentions alternate endings?

At first I thought WASD wasn't working "it's just moving the camera... no wait it's the island that is moving! cools!" Cool mechanic/mix of genres and really nice music going on!

R-Trooper Squad by SelfTitled 2018-04-25T11:17:46Z

I got the same bug where everyone was KIA despite no one getting hurt (windows build - screenshot: http://black-moth.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/nospiders.png). Worked fine on my third try though and I managed to get to the end. Don't think I did anything notably different. Good game once the bug stopped occurring! Was really tense trying to get the last guy into the dropship while the spiders were closing in and the rest of the crew was just hiding safe in the dropship ignoring their bud's plight =P

No Need To Get Frustrated by phi 2018-04-23T16:32:52Z

Cool idea! I ran out of puzzle sections pretty quickly though :) I like the way the level builds itself as you progress, cool effect!

Type it like Schumacher! by Linky439 2018-04-29T22:13:36Z

I had the bug where it wouldn't recognise commands after beating a level, but seeing as you can start from any level, restarting the program and just skipping to the stage I was on solved the issue.

Awesome audio! Really challenging trying to keep track of all the obstacles and come in within the time limit!

KartVania by tifu 2018-04-24T00:14:07Z

Yeah, probably I should have started you faster and made one or two of the speed upgrades increase acceleration rather than max speed.

The controls should show Xbox controls, I totally just forgot to go back and add in keyboard controls to the instructions ^^ (default is left shift/control/alt rather than A/X/B buttons)

@lpriebe - Feedback on damage is definitely a thing that this needs, just ran out of time to add sound effects and particle effects etc.

To kill Dracula: You have to use all the abilities together to hurt him, so you have to jump and shoot him, he'll fall to the ground, you then have to use a combination of drift boost and ramming speed to actually cause damage. So stun him, then drift next to him and blast into him when he's stunned. Should only take five or so boosts to end him. Technically you don't need the lava-proof wheels upgrade, but the arena would be a lot harder with less space to run around.

Photonic by Justintime4u2bu 2018-04-29T21:54:55Z

16,500 high score =D

Others have already pointed out the biggest problem being that if you get spotted, unless you already have a blue orb spawned on screen, you're basically insta-killed at that point unless it is by one of the first enemies before things get hectic. Not sure what would be a solution though, re-activating after a few seconds probably? One re-activation when you reach 50% health so you basically get at least two chances?

Shuffle Knight by Lun8 2018-05-03T11:41:00Z

Really cool idea!

I think I got stuck off the top of the screen when jumping off the right of the screen to try to reach a high ledge and had to restart a couple of times, but other than that this was really awesome!

Mettle Gear: Peace Driver by tayl1r 2018-04-23T22:05:35Z

That got really hard, I got to the level where two guys were going back and forth between two lines and one patrolling the middle, I guess you're supposed to kite them out with the horn but I couldn't get the hang of it. Wish I could change that level to easy mode without having to redo every stage before it D: Good job though, was fun, and good combo of themes.

Soul Sword by Raiyumi 2018-04-25T13:01:05Z

This is really great, a few annoying things present - loot getting stuck in walls, enemies spawning right on you, and I feel a dodge or something would be nice, and I'm a little unclear, but the final sword seems a lot less useful than the second-last sword. The second-last one can deflect projectiles, so even if the gold one is stronger, deflecting attacks feels way more important. Really good despite these things, I think I was playing for over an hour to get to the end =D

Dungeon Solitaire by Lex 2018-05-03T12:06:46Z

Really good! I love how the last three levels end up really hard if you're not careful about using up some of the dangerous cards/noticing what combos of cards are really difficult. Some I'm not sure how to get around - could never get past that room on the right here - hellplatform.png (restarted and got a better layout!)

Dungeon Solitaire by Lex 2018-05-05T00:07:09Z

@lex yeah, I wasn't meaning it wasn't possible, just that I couldn't manage it ^^

Shady Tactics by lpriebe 2018-04-24T12:15:46Z

Didn't run in Firefox ("index out of bounds"), but ran fine in Chrome.

This is such an awesome idea! I love how tactical you have to think about whether to move a card for attack/defence or to create a shadow so you can sneak around easier. Great job!

Escape by Gamekrazzy 2018-05-03T12:31:03Z

Managed to get to the end! Had to look up the hello puzzle solution because - I don't think there is really anything that would make me think "oh yeah if this was a calculator I could turn that word upside down and..." feels like a logical leap that needs a bit more of a hint to it, whereas all the other puzzles feel much more logical and solvable, and I enjoyed those ones, I especially like the final puzzle has to be completed with hints throughout the other areas.

Room Runner Extreme Deluxe! by ORECROS 2018-04-23T12:25:18Z

Highest score was 78 seconds. Huzzah :P I think I died every time I came to a platform section with any verticality! Seem to bounce away from walls sometimes. Really cool idea, I like some of the gag quizzes - I thought that math solution was pretty clever, though I didn't actually encounter it until after reading that comment and replaying a bit.

God Is Angry by loosegoose 2018-04-23T11:38:14Z

The angel invaders have a really cool look! This was a fun combo. I'm not sure I liked that the dying angels had collision, it left me just waiting for them to fade a few times, but perhaps it would be too easy if you could just jump through them while slashing.
