Assuming it isn't, then it's pretty fun. Is there an end to it? If the Jumper is supposed to be waiting for his drive to warm up or something, a timer would be nice. I can understand not wanting to put in a health meter, but some kind of visual response when you are hit would add a lot I feel (explosion/screen flashes/ship flashes/whatever). Getting upgrades is fun, I like how they add to the ship structure rather than just improving your stats or such =D
Quite nice. The control is a bit awkward without any acceleration or deceleration of the ship, though.
No, it isn't the example game from XNA, it's all my own work ( I haven't actually seen that example, is it new? )
There's supposed to be a "good" ending, but I didn't get round to putting it in... Try getting one of the wave guns! They're the ones with the very high rate of fire...
I agree on the accel / decel thing. Ditto for damage / health indicators of some kind. The little things matter...
This is an amazing game. I really liked that the enemies didn't immediately die, but rather exploded for a second before disappearing. Collecting their weapons was quite fun.
Two suggestions:
- some indication of how close you are to dying
- Some inertia
I came down here to mention that the player didn't have inertia while the enemies do.
It looks like they've been covered already ;)
Nice game, and welcome to LD. Gun sounds got repetitive and annoying fast but I liked the way guns can stack up on your ship. As others have said an indicator of your life would also have been handy. Good stuff!
