Great art style!
I like the selection circle rather than rectangle.
It crashed chrome (twice) when I started using magic so I couldn't see any features past the early game.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → Users → Kelly Thomas

love the 2d art
creepy
I like the art!
Fantastic.
Maximum mood rated.
More poetry than game, but I had great fun.
beautiful
Love the art style, however I only have a passing knowledge of the play can't really enjoy the subtle changes of the alternative storyline.
I always seem to die, its a shame because I do like my tea.
Simple but effective.
I wanted keep shooting a them in the second scene
(I guess i'm a jerk)
brutal!
This looks like solid beginning. If its easy to add new content this engine could make a full and rich game.
that's a dense star-field if ever I've seen one!
nice fun!
A bit floaty...
and on one level I kept falling down the doorways.
A homage to rage comics.
I think it would play a bit better if we had a health bar instead of requiring us to kill more enemies as a penalty.
You should also probably find a better file host (or borrow Jorjon's) and update the download link.
People scoring game jams don't really want to install the games. If you zip the bin\x86\Release directory of your project folder and distribute that they can simply unzip and run the game.
this looks so very promising but when I left the first town I was warped into the mountains and got stuck!!
Please smooth out the glitches for a post-compo release I would like to play it more.
nice physics sim.
I'm playing on an old machine and I found that if I throw the ball fast enough it will pass through the closest block then slow down enough to hit the next one.
wow, this ones hard
Great Job, excellent atmosphere.
Great narration!
I found it jarring to be told that I had "score over 3000" but my score was being kept secret.
Maybe say something vague like "your performance will be graded" rather than specify an specific number.
"
Nice idea, but I found the button choice to be unintuitive and reduced my ability to respond under pressure.
I found I wanted the segments to be on the arrow keys i.e. up/down for vertical and left/right for horizontal.
Nice game!
It would have been nice if the end level bosses levelled up a bit.
It wouldn't need any change in code but I think it would be funnier if every time they came back the vehicle has and extra racing strip or a fin / larger different colour cannon etc.
PS. somebody just walking passed my room just said they liked the music
Fantastic, very solid and lots of charm
It's a nice idea but it needs a little more depth.
You could set it up so the hunger bar reduced slower and the player had to balance between eating from the fish population and the coconut population while being careful not to wipe either out.
It's quite detailed isn't it.
lotsa death in this one.
Its a good game system but a bit of foreshadowing the danger might help
played really slow for me. not fps but velocity
Love the controls, really feels weightless.
I love the way the cat neither walks, or runs but jumps along behind you.
Nice atmosphere, it feels so desperate once it starts fading to black!
Great game!
I like the slowly panning camera it makes me feel so isolated.
I found I had to quit at one point as a log dialogue wouldn't go away for me, but I had a lot of fun with it.
space is big!
I only found the game notes at the start.
If anybody finds other items share the coordinates here so we can check it out.
nice challenge, though a bit intimidating.
Web is working, windows id 404ing.
No other players online leaves me feeling very lonely.
very good play mechanic, flash it out with a few more ideas and it could go places.
Crash on launch, WinXP 32 bin, intergrated intel GPU
very complex controls, I wish I could see them as an optional overlay in game
Good effort!
Nice scaling of difficulty.
I fell afoul of the level 5 insta-death but it worked again the next time so its all good.
250 is a bit high for me, I enjoyed the time I spent but it needs more to justify a gauntlet that long.
I was playing on 32-bit win7 so its working over here.
Its very atmospheric, the small greyscale screen makes me feel isolated from my avatar.
I found that sometime my bullets hit the zombie hitbox when they clearly missed the sprite.
Hi Guys, this one is my first public release. Please leave any comment you have below. Any and all constructive criticism is appreciated!
^ Its setup with two alternative control options both active at the same time. This will allow for left/right handedness and laptops or other keyboard strangeness.
a) wasd for movement and numberpad-123 for actions.
b) arrows for movement and zxcv for actions.
Cute game
This is a great job for a first release.
Its good!
Its a story I can relate to.
great fun: good gameplay, amusing dialog and hilarious animations
Good fun implementation, I didn't win, only got to ninety.
I used to like the was the Sierra games would give you a score and as you played you could get a feel for how far through the game you were.
The Ghost Pirate is presumably the ghost of a pirate which left we wondering what kind of thing I was before I died.
I also felt that the creatures we killed could have had ghosts (or something).
Maybe these were addressed in the ending.
Anyway good working a great product to show for 48 hours works.
Its a fun idea, and could be polished into a nice little sim.
Buttons that have no valid options should be greyed out eg. repairing for a race when that race has no damaged machines and the same for the parent repair button when no race has any damaged machines.
I would like to be able to create (import/engineer/order) new races, or possibly have overpopulated races split and claim territory left after another race dies.
Possibly war over territory and/or machines rather than just raw resources.
I found towards the end of my playtime that I was clicking next turn very quickly while watching the balance of the numbers change. If an event occurred I often missed it as the event log is cleared each time.
Final note: I like that when feeling indifferent you can still gain fun points after everyone dies.
Love the clouds!
Good gameplay with nice difficulty progression.
Only grips is the jerking collision once the level starts falling around the player
Gotta love a smash tv homage.
Nice flocking behaviour, did you bake your own or is it a classic algorithm?
It is the key feature of the game and partly it's biggest floor.
Like most people here I thought that everyone running towards my car was a zombie the first time I played.
If the humans and zombies behaved differently then players might have an easier time understanding the goal.
Anyway its a fun game and a good concept.
love the sprites
Its fun with a good variety of destructibles.
With more time I would suggest a combo system and maybe power-ups, or score bonus collectables.
I would strongly suggest ziping the compiled application found in the bin directory of you Visual Studio Project. People rating games for a game jam don't want to have to worry about uninstalling a game they may only play for a few minutes.
I didn't win...
Can you win?
scary cats ftw
beautiful
lots of fun, very cute style
Love it, very unique!
neat physics, but i found myself thinking the move, shoot controls should have been switched
I love it a bit like a robotic Highlander.
Jumping off the bodies of your fallen clones is a nice touch.
Great job.
Its a lot of fun, and the jokes just keep coming.
good fun puzzles and i love the graphics
Keep at it. Its a good start!
Well done, very enjoyable.
btw I found that when landing on a block next to spikes I died sometimes, but not enough to ruin the fun.
Good fun, but it gets a bit too reliant on chance at the fourth area. It took about twenty tries to get the right "refrigerator topography" to cross over the first uphill gap, then while going down into the next valley a bouncing fridge flies in from the slope behind me at two or three times the falling speed delivers the killing blow to the back of my head.
Didn't matter had fun
moody
they really travel in packs don't they
nice idea but I was getting Hall od Mirrors effects on my three browsers FireFox 8, Chrome 16 and IE 9
Wow.. Mind Blown!
Great, unique game idea, I don't think I've seen the lens of truth concept applied to the operating system GUI directly.
On a minor note when I first launched the game I answered "ten" and received a crash. You might want to check for non-numeric input
very impressive
Others have address the gameplay, i'll focus on the interface.
I liked the scaling options, but found the menu text to be clipped.
I also feel a quit key is in order, I feel that if I need to end task then the developer missed an important feature.
It requires but is missing:
SDL.dll
SDL_tff.dll
SDL_image.dll
It contains but probably does not required .psd files.
When I run it (windows explorer and command line) it flashes a window up but closes immediately.
In summary I've tried but I can't run it.
Its fun, and I want to try harder levels but I don't know what the win condition is !?!
"You've been shot down by enemy forces with no score"
I'm not very good at this genre...
I found it quite hard to move around/understand what is happening
leaves me wanting more ;)
Good fun!
However the dialogs should clear when you move into a new room.
the colours, so bright!
Nice atmosphere, the rain overlay helps alot
nice gameplay, good use of theme!
But the textures look like they might have come from external sources. Did you create them during compo period?!?
nice use of them.
cute graphics.
my only gripe is that when a follower dies it pops up "You have died"
I found it needed more explanation for it to make sense.
Others have mentioned the installer and target profile so wont cover old ground.
I liked the concept, survival in a harsh and isolated environment.
As it's a race against time I felt I should have been able able to hold a movement key rather than tap once for each tile.
It also seemed odd that as each day of the blizzard passed there were fewer snowdrifts.
i actually find it kind of fun.
only good for small doses.
great fun, I like they way you get you first boss so early
nice clean fun, but pacing need work
Great
Its fun but the gravity makes the controls feel loose, kind of like bumper boats after a few drinks.
Its great and I played for a while but the i'm one of those players who holds an horizontal movement key an then taps jump. The movement blocking killed the fun for me.
When it first loaded I thought it was rouge-like but then it started homing in on me before I could even find the movement keys.
I loved the way the fluctuating light varied the tension level.
i'm not fast enough, but the idea has merit
good fun, almost too good:
The music gets grating before long before the game play gets old.
Challenging
