Theme 1/5: Kittens isn't the theme.
:U
It said I survived for 20 whole minutes, maybe the time at the end is x10 too high?
Thanks for the criticism, if I decide to expand on the game then I'll definitely take these into consideration.
The restart at beginning thing is going to have to stay, though. ;)
Thanks for both of your feedback!
For the shooting while turning thing, yes, making it shoot forward would be easier, but would remove the added mechanic of shooting enemies from the side, which is crucial for survival at points. I'm going to look for ways to improve this for posting an upgraded version on Kongregate, though.
Yeah, I agree that the Alien bullets are hard to see at times. Maybe neon green would stand out? I don't use green much at the moment.
Thanks again;
The background dust and difficulty curve are the two things hardest hit by the time limit. I would have loved to put more work into them, but sadly couldn't.
You can press X too! My hand was starting to hurt so I made that available so you could distribute your firing over 2 keys.
I feel the game is a lot more frantic with individual firing, like in the old arcade games (i love them). With autofire it's a lot less immersing, I've tried it.
There's not much that isn't the play area, so I don't know how I would manage that.
For the theme you need to read the story, but I wasn't too fond of the theme so the tie in is pretty loose. Thanks.
Brilliant.
5/5 theme
I don't know how to play this. Either way, the variable displays aren't very nice, you can use sprites with number costumes as a nice looking substitute for that.
I usually use windows, but I'll probably try when I switch to OSX at one point. Looks nice.
Sweet music! Really fit the game.
Sweet idea to mix these puzzles and platformers.
They got stuck on each other when trying to take away the world. It was hilarious.
Sweet graphics style and hilarious gameplay. Good job.
Really cool. I enjoyed figuring out everything you could do, but it took a little while. Awesome graphics too.
Sweet!
Nice, the graphics were cool and it was great fun. The levels changed a bit abruptly, but that set me on the edge I guess. :P
Rotating towards the mouse is weird, it turns the full 360 if the direction switches at the 0 point. You should modulate the difference in direction to overcome that.
Really fun, I loved how at the end of the story you apologized about it. It was okay! The music was certainly... Frantic, the sound effects and graphics were good though.
Interesting gameplay and great graphics, wolfram alpha's strong point is definitely not music, though. :P
The transition effect was really cool. Awesome gameplay and ambient music.
Sweet, great fun! Could use a few more levels though.
Lots of fun, I loved how frantic it got later on. Awesome work.
hahaha that surprise was absolutely amazing 5/5 humor
Nice game, I love the progression in difficulty. The graphics were super impressive but the sound effect when a house got destroyed was ear shattering. Very funny though.
The jumping is sort of weird, but otherwise pretty cool!
Cool, but I got lost in space a few times. Making the camera follow the ship or providing an arrow at the edge of the screen would help me find my way back. I used the co-ords once but it was hard to judge my position relative to the planet using them (so i didn't crash into it)
Cool, the visuals are superb and the concept is interesting. Nice work!
Awesome music. The story is hilarious and I enjoyed playing. Good job!
Won't run for me.
Mushrooms don't make that sound :'(
Congratulations on your first game.
Smart idea. Couldn't figure it out though, the language was pretty non-standard.
Blank screen, I bet it's a Java 7 error.
Awesome Graphics. I love the rotation shifts but don't at the same time, it makes plaforming sorta confusing. Otherwise this is really really nice!
Jeez, the audio is painful. Good game otherwise though.
Pretty cool, the number of bullets was absurd but that's what made it great. Good job.
Cool idea, gameplay isn't very enjoyable though.
Really smart game, always loved a puzzler. Sweet graphics too!
This is sweet! I love how it got really difficult when the others moved with the keyboard too. Great job.
Fun game.
Cool concept, I love that you've made a card game; but it's sorta confusing. I think some more pointers on the UI would help.
Nice, I love the black and white + detailed sprites art style.
Lovely graphics and sounds, not much in the way of puzzle solving though. Nice work, even if it is unfinished. Worked for me on an Nvidia GTX 260 with windows 7.
Fun game, but I can't hear the music for some reason. I'll leave that as N/A.
Nice work! Loved the ending.
Fun initially, but it gets repetitive. You can easily kill enemies by standing still and spamming the mouse buttons.
Cool game, I liked the dandelion thing.
I was sufficiently confused by this game. Really nice graphics, but I don't think I killed anything. :<
I don't know how to play.
Cool that it's on arcade hardware, but there's not much content otherwise.
Great Job! I love the humor and twist on the theme.
Really cool concept. Loved the whole thing.
Jeez, why does the guy hate cats? Kind of a silly thing to fret about. The voices were asynchronous at parts and I cringed, but otherwise the gameplay was well linked to the beat.
Cool, lassoing people is hilarious!
Awesome concept!
Got stuck at the switch before I got double jump. Couldn't activate the switch either... I think I'm missing something. The mood is good though.
It was hilarious how I could accelerate to a crazy speed (and launch the animals across space at similar speeds). Nice work.
It was kind of weird how the game crashed to close itself, but the game was awesome! I loved the shader and the gameplay was great for being so short. I got stuck on a few phrases because I wasn't saying them right, eg "enter spaceship", but otherwise it was well done.
I should get congratulated every time i hit the ball on my 1080p screen. :>
I succeeded in lauching my rocket.
Can't play.
this won't stop appearing on my thing
I love the simplistic graphics, but it's not very innovative as a platformer. Loved the whack-a-mole boss though.
Pretty cool, but there's not much content! I would have loved something with more of a story or whatever. :)
jesus christ what is that noise
Cool, but got way too difficult at the end. There should be a cutoff where it's still possible, but difficult.
This is super impressive, the scale of everything is crazy. The graphics are beautiful too, the music fitting and the sounds good. The only things I didn't see are relation to the tiny world theme and gameplay is unpolished in areas (looks like a lot of that polish went into graphics! still astounded by them). Really amazing that you did all of this in 48 hours.
Fantastic idea, the graphics to go with it are great too.
Nice, but I got through the whole game with a planet made of turrets! Could use a little more enemy variety, maybe enemies that can't be hurt by turrets? (with another weapon type)
It took a long time to get used to the shooting style. I don't like the art style either, it's too messy. Good concept though.
There's this really high pitched noise throughout the music... Other than that the game's cool but I noticed that I can jump infinitely in mid air, making things pretty easy.
The control scheme is really hard to get used to. Nice graphics and story though, I was impressed.
Cool idea and story, but the character moves way too slow. I bet there were even more things you could have done to make this even more sweet, but yeah, time constraints.
The platforming was weird, I could jump when not touching the floor and gravity was linear instead of velocity based. Good attempt though, the graphics are good.
Cool, but the way movement jitters unsettles me. I haven't played many rougelikes though so it might not be important. :I
Awesome! I got a huge score by bouncing on aliens though, that might be a problem.
Nice concept, nice to see a non-hollow attempt at depth for this theme. :P (psychologically broken people, anyone?)
Should have shot stings instead of yellow lasers. Nice though.
Really fun game, funny how the planet exploded into a huge white cloud at the end.
Thanks for the feedback! I can agree with the control woes, I even got a bit confused when the boat was upside down! I'll try to think of something.
"You can arc the shots if you click further away from the planet, but I didn't realize that for a while."
Oops, forgot to mention that in instructions. :I
You do get a score bonus for being fast, but yeah after having my testing sessions cancelled a few times instant timer murder might not have been the best idea.
kendja: *2 slow
Is that meant to be a bad thing? I still scripted everything in the same way you would with a text based language.
Love the concept and gameplay, awesome work!
Very innovative idea!
Quit stuffing the ballots :@@@
Sweet gameplay and art, loved the style.
Don't have an android device. :X
Works really slow on my system for some reason. Core i7 920, I think I have java 7.
Works really slow on my system for some reason. Core i7 920, I think I have java 7. Nice ship graphic though.
love how the title screen guy is like "WHAT HAVE I DONE :'("
I don't think you're allowed to use stock photography (memes included)
Very powerful game.
Nice! Love the graphics and enemy AI!
Really fun and fantastic art, great job!
Pleasant. :>
This was really, really good.
this is the best game
hahahaha wow
I absolutely love that you steal their whole house part by part and they don't even react.
Cool entry! The earth looked pretty happy that it was being destroyed. :P
Nice first LD game, though I was able to get a crazy high score by holding right and pressing the up button a lot! I'm also not sure what this has to do with the theme...
Can't get it running on my system, I've got Java 7 Update 7 x64. The title screen is blank, then when I press enter I get to a scene select screen which is also blank, except no buttons work on it. Looks like a fantastic idea though.
Got lost in level 3, it seemed like the pinging was in the wall and the beast disappeared. Other than that, cool idea! Not sure what it has to do with the theme though.
Life is indeed, too short.
Really funny! Fantastic job.
Cool idea, I don't usually like this type of game but it was pretty well executed!
That was cool, loved how the guy got more scared every time he saw me. The only problem is that the tree hitboxes are pretty undecipherable, so I kept getting stuck on trees while being able to walk through others.
@enfyrneaux When you die you watch the rest of the game in spectator mode, if you ended up there without dying then that's a problem.
Hmm... I'll need to look into the connection errors when I get back home. For now I've fixed the error reporting, so if you got [event Object] then you should try again and report back what it says. Thanks for all the feedback, those of you that could play!
Also, I think the server is trying to delete the data of those who are erroring and therefore breaking the game for everyone else, so I'm gonna add a few sanity checks to the server.
Fixed server bugs and bugs where the music desyncs and really messes with the gameplay.
The 30 second wait was so you could pull together a bunch of people to playthrough a whole sitting, but I never managed to make the game long enough to justify it.
Works fine on my Firefox 17.0.1. Not sure what the problem is.
It gets pretty tedious after a while, other than that nice work! I used to use scratch a few years ago. ;)
Nice work! A few times the game lagged out (garbage collection?) and I went through a wall, but other than that it was pretty well constructed! My only gripe is that the first jump on the last level seems to be chance (or i'm just not very good at this :P) then the second part... I haven't got there but it doesn't look possible.
Could use some audio as well! The Web Audio API is the best candidate, but it's only working in chrome right now. Using <audio> elements would also work, though I only use it as a fallback because you can only play one of a sound at a time with it...
Awesome work! Love the graphics as always. The concept was really original, the story and character kinda remind me of Wario Land! The controls were quite unresponsive though, there were specific timings to when you could press a button and I never figured them out... Nice work tho!
The crouch key seemed to stick, and I wasn't exactly sure how to avoid the waves, but the graphics and audio were sweet and it was a cool idea, nice work!
I'm not able to play, I'm getting the message "Could not find or load main class Cloud.jar" when inputting into the console "java Cloud.jar". If I double click it nothing happens...
I have java 1.7, I got this with another game too recently... It's the 64-bit version.
I love the graphics and the story is very well presented, it's a shame it couldn't be longer though.
Very smart idea, I've never seen anything like this before!
Love the phrases at the end, excellent work!
Nice work, really innovative! Only problem was that the game matched my screensize, some of the letters were offscreen in some levels.
Most realistic Usain Bolt simulator I have ever played. The xbox minigame was a controls nightmare, but other than that it was fantastic!
The music was killing me! Gameplay was well done though, good job.
That was absolutely hilarious. I love you.
Amazing. Could have used more ways to die after the window and hitting yourself with stuff, but it was hilarious!
Nice work! You always make great games, this was a really great idea as per usual! The small fitting music track and graphics really help.
Nice work! Loved the idea and I did enjoy playing, though there wasn't much gameplay. Too bad you used external audio and graphics, but I'll rate it as if it were a Jam entry because of it.
Nice work! I got stuck for a while because I was trying to send both a short range and long range signal at the end, it ran out of power before the long range and I thought I was missing something... I love the graphics style and the atmospheric music was perfect.
Very nice graphics, cool idea!
Haha, love that the police can tase the players.
Cool first entry! The platform physics needs a little tweaking though, and there's not much substance to it in its current form.
Really appealing visual style, amazing work. The music was very fitting too! Only problem is that there wasn't any progression in the gameplay, and it was never difficult. Losing had a really cool effect though.
Heh, I would say there's not enough programming minigames, but I don't think those would be doable in 10 seconds. :)
lmao that was hilarious, awesome job! It's a bit short though, could have used some more levels like you said, and it's quite easy to win... But the graphics were spot on, and I enjoyed it while it lasted. :P
Nice work! I like the website design, and the game is a great idea! Shame about the bugs though, and could use a wee bit more polish to make improve its feel.
I had this bug where the chat kept deleting letters I typed, and there was this other one where it drew me in the previous place but my movement tiles in the correct place.
Cool idea, but gets way to hard in the later levels since they take a while to figure out. Then it sends you back to the start. :( The graphics are fitting though and I appreciate your use of scratch ;)
Nice work! I really like the subtle parallax effect on the background and main bus station. The gameplay is kinda like Crazy Taxi in space, enjoyed it! Sound design could use some work, but the game is otherwise good.
How do you play? It seems like I lose every time.
You can't include music that you haven't made in a compo entry... Other than that interesting game!
Funny idea! Could have used some audio, but I did enjoy playing regardless, loved the blood explosion when you die.
Not much gameplay, but great first entry! The sound effects are hilarious, it was fun while it lasted. :P
Fantastic idea, though when I joined someones server they just stood there and took the bomb... The graphics are really polished and I absolutely adore the music though. I'll come back to this if I can get some more people to play it. ;)
Really cool! I got good scores until the last two levels, those are brutal. Loved everything about it.
I wasn't sure what I was meant to be doing, but the mechanics were pretty polished.
Favourite all time ludum dare
Nice work! Love the graphics, I thought the gameplay was a little too easy though. It's a fun idea and I see you're already working post compo to improve it, which is great!
Nice work! Having to wait 10 seconds to retry something/place one ghost a tile away was a bit tedious, but the gameplay was really challenging!
Cool idea, it's sorta like warioware but less wacky and more difficult. The spelling one was annoying, specifically the first time where there was an s on the screen so I thought it started off for me so I typed u... and lost. :(
10/10 would explode again.
The anomalies were really disorienting, but I suppose that's the point!
Fantastic idea, one of the few gamelike twines I've ever seen. It could have been longer (mayybe not because of the timer), but I enjoyed what there was of it.
lmao the dubstep one was amazing, love all the wee riffs! (some of them defied tone tho) Excellent work, but it's not very gamey.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, the audio kinda reminds me of the stings from the sims 1, eg http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12239448/sting_econsuc2.mp3
Congrats on your first game! Could have used some audio or something; you should look up SFXR for next time! It's a program that generates sound effects.
The wait between tries is a little annoying, other than that cool idea!
The graphics are beautiful, and I really enjoyed playing! I especially like that there's no one way to complete a level, yet it's still incredibly difficult. Amazing work.
Graphics are really nice! The music was good until that first melody line, but it recovered after that. Like folmerkelly said, there's not much of a sense of progression. Good job making this in one day though, I sure as hell wouldn't have been able to. :P
Love the palette! That perspective was kinda making me sick tho. :P Cool idea, played through to the end, nice music too!
goodbye killbot :'( she was my best friend
Really smart gameplay, the graphics and audio were really well done too! My favourite puzzle game so far.
@Jimanzium Seems to be a problem with sending like 100 requests to dropbox, I've moved it to a webserver under CloudFlare CDN and it seems to load a lot faster and doesn't drop files.
If anyone else gets loading problems can you post your browser + version? There might be problems running under Safari or Opera.
About mocking the player on failure: I think if it's okay really depends on the person's sense of humor/their current state of mind. Might just not like the idea at all (like ernest), or they might be good for the first few deaths but not be happy after failing a few times and they might feel that it's a personal attack. I don't mean it that way, I swear!! I do want the player to win the game, it's just the difficulty curve is crazy steep because I only completed 4 levels :(
@tobbez I can download opera and test a SetInterval fallback, or maybe try oRequestAnimationFrame. Either way, I'll have a fix/warning up later today.
Actually, works in the latest opera (16), so I just might need to make a setInterval fallback for older browsers.
Game is now at http://amebo-emu.tk/ld27/, if anyone will even view this page again.
Amazing! I always love playing your games. The difficulty curve was spot on, though I thought maybe the later levels would have a higher difficulty ceiling. The music and art work together really well, and I especially loved the surprised face each character made when the other died. Great job!
Cool, I beat both worlds! The music was pretty good for being written within the time frame. I liked that you voice acted the characters too - you don't see that often with Ludum Dare. Only problem is that it's too easy to win right now... Otherwise, Nice work!
Incredible graphics and presentation! The mood in the game is set perfectly, however gameplay is really slow and I was only able to find orcas and a huge ice wall with weird collision (i got through it at some weird point, then walked far enough for the shadow to fall off. initially i thought i was in a cave!). Overall very well done though!
Very smart gameplay! I especially loved the last puzzle - I had a feeling that the color mixing was going to come into play more than once ;)
Just a small thing - I managed to find a bug by jumping through this portal while charging a ball through and releasing at the same time as I went through it. Check it out:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/12239448/bug.png
Also just a quick question - did you write the music? Not to be rude if you did, but it's just that there are 3 full length pieces there that are all really well written which seems quite weird for a 48h compo entry.
If you didn't write the music then it's technically against the compo rules, so for now I'll just vote N/A for that.
Pretty cool - but I don't really see the theme in it, and the footstep sound was really annoying. The setting was interesting, the scene is pretty striking!
Very nice! I loved the maze in level 2, but after that level 3 seemed really easy. I also liked the little details like the guitar notes as footsteps :)
There seems to be some weird flickering that occurs when I'm looking in certain directions, that and the FOV is way too low. Apart from that, pretty solid entry!
I was playing and suddenly I managed to lock up all of the controls some time after I got the first lava block to the grass world... Very challenging though - I enjoyed playing. The micro-management quickly becomes intense! (especially with the water world - I was never able to keep up)
Java Exception on my end.
Very nice work for just getting started with 3d! I understand your plight with the graphics stuff being hard to put together alongside the engine, though having the game look like minecraft is a little uninspired. The platforming was enjoyably difficult at parts, though it would have been nice if after I got the first bridge to spawn a way to skip to it after dying appeared. Though I did manage to get around this by jumping the gap corner to corner and barely making it. ;)
Fantastic work! I loved the the art style - I thought it was especially funny how you could just pick up the cat and frog and they wouldn't react, as if they were statues. The gameplay was very well thought out! It would have been cool to see it get more complicated, but I understand there's no way you could have had the time to do that. :P
Very cool! I always love multiplayer games in ludum dare - it's just a shame I didn't find this earlier when more people were rating! I was able to play a game with two other people and it was a lot of fun, though it could have been more fun if I could talk to the other players. The controls were a bit weird too, I was able to flip myself over and then my movement started completely defying the laws of physics! Despite this, awesome entry! I also appreciate the double bass drums in the soundtrack ;)
Pretty cool, but I was able to skip nearly all of the enemies and pretty much cruise to the end, where I killed a huge skeleton from a distance and then not much happened. The game is well put together and robust, it's just the content isn't quite there. Great job making this in 72h!
It's probably worth mentioning that hard mode is completely impossible (can't get started on medium either, just keep hitting that top wall). Most of the time when I start the game I instantly hit the top wall and die because I'm clicking the play button to start it. I was able to play through in easy mode, and the level design was quite well thought out. Nice work.
The music is really cool - however I noticed that it is from http://www.nosoapradio.us/! All content in the game must be your own and made within the 48 hours, so unfortunately the audio breaks the 48h compo rules... Apart from that, the game is pretty solid on easy mode.
Very sleek visual style! I enjoyed unfair mode a lot - nice work!
The shooting system was well designed (nice particles), but I think the gameplay was too much of the same thing without much challenge. You should try using something like SFXR so you can get some sound effects in your game in the future. Despite that - congratulations on your first ludum dare!
I had a lot of fun playing, and I enjoyed the music and graphics... However I couldn't get over one thing... if you die... you go back... to the start.....
Cool game! It could use some fancier graphics or more levels, but apart from that the core structure is solid.
Nice work! I played through a few times but the second stage always got me - it's pretty hard to maintain your momentum perfectly. Only problem I had was that the first level is easy to get through, but takes a very long time (and you have to play through it again every time you die!) so after a while re-doing the first part became quite boring. Apart from that, great job on your first entry (and first game, super cool)!
Very nice work! The difficulty scaling was spot on, the later puzzles were brilliant! I was pretty surprised at the quantity of levels you managed to make within 48h, well done!
Very nice - I loved the graphics and music! I played another game with the same gameplay style called Dead Land, which I also liked. I think the appeal is very much the same, you both have a charming story & setting and the puzzles are well thought out.
Pretty cool! The last level was a complete change in gameplay though, but I can't say it was a bad one. That and your glass shader needs a little work. :P I had a lot of fun playing this.
I spent my first playthrough pushing people into the sea, which caused hilarious consequences in the forest world. Nice game - got to the end but didn't really get what was happening. The atmosphere in the forest world was spot on!
Nice work! I love the animal crossing drum solo breakdown. Too bad you didn't have the time to implement a par system or anything like that.
Yep, I really recommend using a mouse to play this.
LexGear: just forgot to include it. Zipping it up and including right now.
Done! The source was always available at /game.js, though not packaged with the resources (just url references). I've also included the working fw.pngs for the character and tilesets.
I actually thought the theme would be the thing to give the game its depth when I came up with the idea - I specifically thought about the style of platforming in level 3 the most (swing across platforms from different worlds interchangably), but the others tend to go in a more direct route to the finish. Thanks for the feedback!
bad @ videogames
I think that the problem is that I wanted to sell the full depth of the mechanic but didn't have the time to make enough levels to slowly ease the player into it. I don't think maybe even 5 more levels for smoother difficulty ramping would get the player up to where I'd ideally want them to be for the final level, so it would have been near impossible to get something like that ready for 48h compo.
The theme only really comes into direct play on the 3rd level... I'm pretty impressed that you stuck with it for 25 minutes, and I do agree that the player needs more preparation for the tricks in level 2. (and even the swing up in level 1) My other friend was able to beat it in that time from first try - so the ideal difficulty probably varies drastically from person to person - but right now I'm only providing content for the higher end.
Either way, I'm glad to see that you had fun with the first two levels.
Thanks for coming back and sticking with it! I've been having a few thoughts about a full game based on this concept - so a version with a smooth difficulty may be something that exists eventually.
I'm not sure what happened here. I can't find one thing good from any of the voting categories. Inspiration unfortunately isn't a category. :'(
Fantastic level design, the music was beautiful - a perfect fit. Tileset was spot on! The character was a little weird, but then again who am I to judge, everyone in my game is a snowman. :P By far the best puzzle game I've played in any ludum dare.
Nice twist on the theme! Only downside is that it seems to generate the same pattern every time, which seems to be down to your deterministic random number generator. Custom sound effects may have also been a better fit for the game instead of using the note blocks (note blocks create really harsh sounds). Very cool nevertheless!
Very cute game! Difficulty was spot on, fantastic level design and graphics as per usual. It's insane how you made so many levels in 48 hours and they're all original and challenging. The music really reminded me of Roller Coaster Tycoon for whatever reason, I guess it's the carnival theme.
The only problem I felt was that the tight ropes felt incredibly rigid - it would have been really cool to have them sort of bend to the point of contact when you landed on them, but obviously that would be really hard to do in Stencyl and would kind of demand a custom engine. :P
One small bug: on level 15 I found you can easily win just by dropping right off the start rope. But really, that's the only thing I could find! Excellent work. :)
Love the audio, the animation on the stick figures is super nice too! YOU HAVE BEEN DEFEATED
Very nice use of a quad tree ;) high marks in theme and innovation for imaginative use of the theme!
Very, very cool artwork! It's a shame you couldn't make it into a game, but I really love what you've got here so far! The diving into the snow thing kinda reminds me of the upcoming game Splatoon as well, which isn't a bad thing 'cause it's a really cool mechanic.
Very good! Graphics and audio worked great for the game, you can never have too much screen shake. :) Like I said on the stream, it could probably use a bit more prep time before the next rounds start, and also it could spawn you at the very bottom out of a gate or something so that you don't spawn in the middle of a ton of enemies. That being said, it plays greaat - kinda brings me back to when 10 seconds was the theme!
Very impressive! Could have used more than 1 level, but I understand coding the mechanic must have been super difficult. Level design was great, if a little easy, game was very innovative and I had fun playing. :)
Nice one! There seem to be a ton of multiplayer games this time around. Me and Mach some fun playing this one (ie. running up to each other's faces then spamming space) but felt that it needed some sort of round system, so that people could win a round by getting the most snowball kills. Apart from this, nice work for just 24h!
Good job! The maze was well constructed and I liked the expanding field of view, but I definitely don't think the spinning added to the experience. Dying was also way too easy (huge square collision boxes), and too punishing for how easy it was. I also don't understand why you didn't mention that all treasure chests were required in the first place? Why does the rotation speed double after it tells you that?
Very cool game, just played it with someone else. Graphics and audio are phenomenal, and the whole game is hilarious. Nice work!
Fantastic entry, I love the humor, the idea, the everything. Very nice work.
Graphical style is a little too much like threes, but apart from that this is an interesting twist on the formula. Sound is minimal but effective. Great job!
Pretty cool! The hints could have been a little less abstact (maybe snowmen with coloured features?) but apart from that the game was interesting to play. It could have also used a clock to time how long it took you to solve the whole thing. I liked the musical sound effects, I always mean to do that but I've only done it like, once. :P
Lots of polish in a simple concept, I like it! Nice work with the particles and visual/audio reactions when the big red block hits the side. It could probably use some graphics though - the filled boxes seemed a little lascking.
can raptors even be nice?
That was... an experience! The wall jump is a little weird, and the snowballs are a little rare but apart from that I had fun playing! I love the polish you put into all the movement and UI text as well! :)
Hilarious entry, well done. The stapler is by far my favourite idea for a shooting weapon ever. :)
Very nice work! The gameplay was spot on, level transitions were pretty cool for Stencyl (must have taken a while to set up) and the graphics were nice. One thing though, you probably should have exempted yourself from the audio category for using cgmusic, or at least mentioned it more centre stage in your description.
Really cool, but it was near impossible to kill the other player as you'd just be able to pick up a heal or armor powerup and undo any damage the other player did, even when hotswapping the shoot and walk modes when necessary. Art was cool and online functionality was very stable, nice work!
Avid player of Twitch Plays Pokemon here, you nailed it with this! ;) I spent much longer playing than I would have liked to, but I had fun. Great use of the theme, well balanced gameplay (apart from Armageddon :P) and impressive twitch stream setup.
Very innovative! Me and Felix (@Mach60KAS) played your game earlier. Glad to see more multiplayer games this LD! We've seen 4 online ones so far, including our own.
I mentioned that the two main problems were server configuration: how it kicked me for not readying while waiting for someone (they actually got in, but got instantly kicked) and how the people attempting to join your server had to repeatedly try connecting for about 5 minutes, instead of joining as a spectator or at least waiting in a queue, with chat access.
The game itself was a really interesting twist on a racer, though I wasn't very good at it. :| It was incredibly hard to turn and slow down at the same time - it would have been nice to have some "drift mode" or whatever that you enter through turning harshly that slows you down and turns you while leaving tracks on the floor. (but obviously makes it really hard to turn the other way)
The chat was hilarious, but the server spamming messages kind of took away from the real p2p chat. I was also mega confused since the chat added at the top instead of the bottom. Either ways thanks for making this, I had fun.
Hey, glad to see someone else (other than my brother) who worked on an online game! I was the guy who was named something like sgdfs, I had fun playing! A few problems though, the damage system was hard to follow (like how low on hp you were, how low i was) and the trajectory system was quite hard to control and line up. For the jumps, it seems like it didn't follow the intended trajectory at all sometimes. Apart from that and lack of graphics and audio, the gameplay is there and it's mega fun. Great work setting up a reliable multiplayer server in 48h!
One thing though, not relating to the game. You said this in a rather sour post on the blog:
"After looking through the game list a couple times, I really can’t find any that interest me. I don’t want to vote because of bias against them"
This is extremely rude and uncalled for! The current system is set up so that you get as many ratings as you give out (to a point) and it's set up that way for a reason. You can't just say "everyone's games are terrible I won't bother"... There are literally 2500 of them! I've only played around 30 and I've already absolutely loved a few.
Cool gameplay, but near the end it just seems like you're playing pachinko, with all the rotating platforms, the dividers and the speed that the balls were being ejected at. I think the balls flying when moving the bag was way too punishing, the velocity probably should just start as 0 so that it's easier to micro manage every ball. Despite this, I did enjoy playing and the music was nice.
Cool game, played it with someone else but for some reason the victory/loss screen didn't trigger? Nice graphics.
Very unusual, I like the atmosphere but after touching the kitchen roll mummy everything kind of... unravelled ;) I completed the game without really knowing why! One question, why on earth is the game 321MB?
Very, very nice. I'm astounded at the all around quality in the game, and it plays brilliantly! Great job.
Interesting puzzles, and fantastic graphical style! The ending is perfect (love the animation!), kind of reminds me of the Super Mario 64 title screen. :P The only problem is that feel the tree and prison puzzles were a little too easy, it took me much longer to do box than the other two.
Astounding graphics, great idea! The animation is done pretty well too, nice work. The gameplay itself is a little bland, since it only consists of jump and dash. It was hilarious though, nice work. :)
okay, can I just say first of all, this is absolutely hilarious. Fantastic work.
Kinda cool! Background art was super nice, but the animation on the birds wasn't all that great. I was expecting more ways to manipulate the birds, such as tugging on the wires or something with the mouse, and for them to fly over to the other side when scared off sometimes instead of just flying up. The audio was very fitting, and the mood was set perfectly though. Can't say I had fun, but that's not really the point. :P
confirmed - game is now runnable :) I keep getting stuck at the edge of the screen though - it's impossible to move away as that would involve clicking outside the screen. I did manage to win in the end - the superpowered windmill made it quite challenging which I enjoyed.
The art is stunning! Fantastic work on that part. I was getting a weird bug where the hit sound was playing once every frame or something silly like that when nothing was near me, it was all very weird and I'm not exactly sure what was going on! I guess that's what made it fun. :)
Very nice work! Loved the graphics and gameplay. Audio is fitting, though the death sounds are a little loud! I experienced a bug where two people were player 2 though, like when I killed the inactive clone, p2 became someone else and left their (still alive) last player on the battlefield. Would have been really cool with online multiplayer - I've noticed multiplayer is sort of a trend this time around but less than half touch multiplayer.
**less than half touch ONLINE multiplayer, sorry
(arggghh installers)--eh, very solid entry! Has a lot more levels than anything I've ever made for LD! The platforming got pretty interesting towards the end, your difficulty progression turned out pretty well! Sometimes the jump didn't fire and I got stuck in moving platformers, but nothing game breaking. I enjoyed the ending.
Very technically impressive, and the later puzzles showed off what the idea behind the game is all about. It would have been nice to have more complex levels that made up various objects in the contour (like shadow puppets!), but what you've got so far is pretty impressive either way!
One thing to note, on my Nvidia 870M + Intel HD 4600 combo the web player would not draw the contours (and it was mega slow!) - I had to download the game and force it to run under the Nvidia card.
Cool, if a little short! I was confused why I couldn't get the hat earlier (clicking it just moved me above it), but after I got everything else it let me get it.
Cool first entry, even if it's a little short! One thing though, there wasn't much point in the close up view up top right since you could see the entire map anyways! (the small map didn't reveal anything extra)
Very nice! I won on my first try. The game screen became pretty insane, but I found it hard to lose sanity if you always queued up going to the next spotlight after you reach the last. The bullets didn't seem to do much to the enemies - do they have more than 1 hp or something? Either way, I had fun playing, good job.
Hilarious, but very hard to control. I understand that that's the point though. :P
Cool! It was kind of weird when I died - the scroll position sort of jolted back to 0 and everything froze! It would have been easier to try again if I didn't have to reopen the game. You should also consider using a y-velocity variable for jumping, as just moving up and down is a wee bit unnatural. Audio was fitting.
What you've got so far works pretty well by itself! A few changes that I would suggest are having the enemies flash red or something when you hit them, to indicate that they have been hit. Of course, an actual use for the money and audio would be the next most important things! Great work for your first LD.
Nice work, but why did you leave out most of the voting categories? I can only vote on audio and humor...
Really cool idea! The platforming could use a little work, maybe the snake could be a little faster but the music great. Very imaginative use of the theme.
Cool concept, it might have been nicer if the videos played behind the windows all the time (would give the whole thing a little more life!). The endings were kind of confusing - why did the game congratulate me for getting fired? Anyways, the graphics were pretty good and you used the theme pretty well, nice work!
The graphics were pretty good, but the bugs really detracted from the gameplay experience! In future you should also consider using less harsh instruments for your music. Apart from that, a very solid first LD compo entry! (most people don't even HAVE music ;P )
Cool idea, really well made and pretty fun if you play it the right way! Unfortunately, I discovered that you can easily prevent all prisoners from leaving by running your finger across the number buttons... Apart from this (and your title, it's "them"!) solid entry!
Fantastic work, 5/5 for theme and humor. :) Saw this on Taunia's stream a few days ago but didn't get a chance to play it until now. I love how it's frustrating to manage your frustration - it's fantastic how quickly the stress levels start increasing after a while of playing. One thing I should mention is that it might have been better to allow the left hand to stretch over to the arrow keys, but apart from that, Great job!
Nice game! I was trying to play it like a rhythm game, but the enemies didn't seem to have any rhythm timing to them. I kind of resorted to spamming the next button, since there was no penalty for pressing the wrong key or pressing it at the wrong time. (no visual cue either, which was confusing on first playthrough. Despite this, I had fun at the boss.
Very nice work! The graphics have obviously received a lot of work, especially the arrow shoot effect (fab!). One thing that could be improved though is that dying instantly restarts the game, which is a little jarring. Otherwise, solid entry!
Very nice, had a lot of fun playing with other people. The blink mechanic could probably still be more rewarding, and I agree that click might have been a better choice for shooting. Tileset and UI are cool - not exactly a fit for each other but they have their own separate appeal.
Very, very impressive graphics. Music was perfect, and the gameplay was fun, nice work! My only problems were that the light rays should have illuminated the walls, and that there should have been and endgame screen to highlight your final score. Otherwise, this is a very impressive entry.
but this is compo :S
eep - you killed the server! I'll need to look into hosting on something other than a raspberry pi :P
It might take a little work, but I can greatly reduce the load per player using a few optimizations. Right now there are 60 (yikes!) packets per player per second - that can easily be reduced to 1-5 depending on how active the player's fingers are. :P
the 5 player DDOS problem should be mostly solved. Try to not invite more than 8 players though - there are only 8 spawn points :P
Thanks yokcos! I've been playing a few competitive multiplayer games recently, which is where the inspiration for a hard-to-master game like this comes from. Ideally it would be great to have multiple levels to play against people on.
Playing for an hour and a half with you guys was a blast, really enjoyed it. Thanks for playing!
I've considered kickback - I feel that it would make it way too hard to shoot people. (it's already very difficult! perhaps you didn't try it if you were playing solo)
The different hats have to be chosen at the start! The zoom mode which is on by default makes it easy to see who you are, but I do agree that it probably needs some sort of indicator on respawn for the full view.
That was intense, I'm glad the server managed to keep up! Thanks for playing, and thanks for the comments!
I originally intended for the level to fill the whole screen all the time, but the zoom was just too good after I implemented it to leave out. So now my interpretation is kinda "the level is the screen, zoom into the screen". :P
i got 37k last time i tried what did you get
that's right not even HALF that
NOT EVEN HALF
My internet went down as we were talking - one of the bad things about hosting on a pi is that it's connected to my disaster router which gives up working every second day. It's back up now.
I saw, that was pretty sick! Looks like they had quite a bad experience with the game though - I forgot that people might have vertical screen sizes less than 768 :I also they didn't know the controls because they normally appear above the game! they also only played with like one person :(
Pretty funny, a cool concept but generally I'm expecting a little more interactivity from games. It is cool that you made this with pico-8 though, and the sprites are superb!
Cool concept, great execution. The only problem was that apart from the second last level, I didn't have to use the pick up/put down mechanics at all... (last level you could just run to the end without pulling the switch!) I feel that with more puzzling levels this would have been much better. Very good audio for it all being made by yourself in the 48h!
Art style is really cool, love how abstract it is (the two colour thing looks very ZX Spectrum). The gameplay itself both interesting and challenging, though maybe a little too challenging. I felt that a tracer or something showing the trajectory of your shot would have really helped a ton. Well done!
Hilarious concept - loved playing! Only problem was that while the offset camera looked cool, it made it hard to control for some reason... Hard to explain.
Platforming mechanics were fantastic and the game is really satisfying to play - very polished for a compo game. The only real problem was the tank controls, I was expecting something a little more like your usual 3d platformer. Either way, awesome game!
Amazing. What an experience. Reminds me of Gitaroo Man for some reason...
Cool idea, completing it was fun, but buying chips just for getting salt was a little tedious. I found that if you placed blocks on top of an existing block or in a space occupied by the player, nothing would happen but you'd still lose a block... On level 2 I didn't know what key to press to activate the button, so I had to spam all of the keys until it worked. The game itself is quite techically impressive - dynamic maps aren't the easiest thing to implement. Nice work!
Fantastic entry, loved every second of it! From the cute concept to the interesting platforming mechanics, you totally nailed it. The only thing it could have used is a little more opposition in the form of enemies or challenging platforming near the endgame (tho its non linear, so theres not really an endgame). Great work!!
Amazing! Loved the yoshi's story style collection of the berries on the screen, and everything from the level design to the music was perfect. Nice work!
Pretty good as your first game, was fun until it crashed 5s in... after that happened my score seemed to keep increasing, and I got 250k points after a few minutes of leaving it on.
Really cool, physics and controls work surprisingly well! One problem though... I was able to fly the horse to troy by spamming right and up. I don't think that's how it happened back then, but that might have actually worked even better than their original plan. Graphics aren't the best but the solid gameplay makes up for it. Nice work!
Nice work! Could have used a more complicated arena, and a reliable way of dodging enemy swings (maybe make the jump on demand?). The music and graphics are solid, great first entry!
@andrewkennedy sorry about that! I was stress testing a bot I made and it got a little out of hand 8O|
Not to dismiss these comments, but there's always a huge white name label above the characters as is. I don't think you can get any more distinct than that.
@Tselmek this is a multiplayer game - you need to either invite friends or run the Bots linked above the source.
Thanks for the generally positive feedback everyone! I'm not happy with some of the areas mentioned as weak points too - I'll probably discuss why those things turned out like they did when I make a post mortem.
Cool idea, could have used more cases though and a game-over/scoring system. I'm also not a robot, so I couldn't read then press the keys anywhere near fast enough after about 2 minutes. Random music loops are nice, even if there are gaps.
Nice game! Idea and controls are great. Got a little samey eventually, the difficulty seemed to cap out... Maybe I wasn't playing for long enough?
At one point I was attempting to abduct the hose and it flew past me, continuing forever presumably back to my home planet. So that's a thing. I also "must try again in a new", after I left the game open for a while...
Winning was incredibly easy. The brainwash option didn't seem to do much (no UI response)? The engine/tractor beam thing probably could have been a toggle. Your engine looks interesting, probably wasn't the best idea to finish it during the game jam though.
Great work, I had a lot of fun with this one! Not sure why I was playing to the music from Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, but I guess that's a cgMusic thing. Only sore point is that the later levels seem very RNG dependant, I basically got a 5 second stretch of nothing that killed me at one point... Idea and gameplay (when the RNG is being nice) are actual brilliant tho, nice one!
(from pico 8 forums)
Love it, though by the end the photos count was literally off the screen! The random cat jittering about and blocking the player is hilarious, though by the end I kind of wanted to eat it too.
Artwork is fantastic, and the radio messages are hilarious. Too bad there's not more, but it must have taken ages to draw these scenes! Audio is very fitting too, really feels like a DOS point and click.
(from pico-8 forums)
Cool, atmosphere is great. Jump forward attack is a great idea and looks fab. Only problem is that the graveyard tileset looks pretty cute, which probably is not intentional and is probably a side effect of using the pico8. '
While the combat looked good it wasn't too much fun, and doing the same stuff got a little tedious by the end. Final boss and jumping enemies were a nice change tho.
Love the idea, the tantrum animation where they jump up and throw themselves on the ground bawling blue particles was hilarious. Only problem is that it's easy to keep the game going forever by avoiding popping too many childrens' last balloons. Nice work!
I loved Billy Mcmath and I absolutely loved this. Could not stop laughing, but I had to feel sorry for Terry Dactyl at the end. Absolutely wonderful entry, top scores everywhere except fun since the game was pretty one track... Fantastic work with the music too.
Though I feel you didn't get the theme across, maybe you didn't say "You are the monster!!" enough times. ;)
You shouldn't have disabled the humor category, you might have done pretty well there! Besides some not-centered text and the map tiles, the game holds together pretty well.
Cool game, love the idea of reverse donkey kong. Graphics are very polished and the wee drum beat is definitely much better than having no music at all. Could have used a few more mechanics, but was pretty fun as is. Nice job!
(from pico-8 forums)
Another game about mail! I see competition is heating up in this new genre. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
My score was 152:17, I accidentally slammed into some cars on the way and got confused about the final mailbox tho. The graphics are cute as hell, and the traffic simulation is easily the best thing I've seen this ludum dare. Well done.
Was a little disappointed when I landed on a building and it didn't break. :(
Very cool graphics effects, and really smart idea. Not really sure why, but the puzzles never actually "clicked" for me after you added the big joining spheres. I did complete the game, but it was like brute force? ...and I'm usually good at these things. Loved the idea, but there were just too many variables for the later levels to be solvable by someone who just started playing a few minutes ago.
Story was interesting! Looked like it was going somewhere even more interesting in the end when I didn't complete the final puzzle for a while and it started nagging me, but nothing seemed to happen.
The music is an experience, I need to know where to find that instrument. All of the sprites were fantastic, but I have to say that the flamingo tombstone is the best.
Lots of fun, and similarly pretty confusing. (house of toilets, flamingo garden basically just waiting to be turned into a graveyard...)
(from pico 8 forums)
I love it. Great idea, great execution, the only problem is that it ended so quickly! Would have loved to see more complicated levels.
GOTY ... :)
Love games where there's a lot of depth. Nice job.
Hilarious idea, love the graphics. "Gyrodeuce" is pretty impressive. Unfortunately a little easy to win if you run all the way to the end and mash enter, but if you play it the right way it's great!
Love the monster poses, and the game feels pretty good once you get the hang of it. The only problem is that it's too difficult to play, even after a while of practice. It's probably different for you because you played for like, 2 days straight. Nice game tho!
Game needs java 1.7. Stop living in the passstttt
I think the real way you should explain the control scheme is "play your laptop like bongo drums". Graphics were pretty cool, but it was getting tedious playing after a while.
I eventually got stuck in a chasm with no way to get out, some time after the charge section.
(from pico 8 forums)
Apology accepted. Loved the different mechanics for each animal, and the eversion thing randomly happening was hilarious. AI was pretty smart but I caught them all >:)

The ending made my day. I'm glad I was postmodern enough to understand it.
Didn't figure out which button advanced dialogue, so I was just mashing my keyboard the whole time. Hopefully there is actually a button and I wasn't just being stupid.
I'm a little confused. Also drat, I killed my ex. Guess that's a bummer. Had me laughing, but the narration had an entirely different mood from the game, which was confusing. Well put together, background is beautiful, music is great.
Very nice work! Gameplay was fun and the powerups really pulled it all together. The only sore point is the graphics, I'm not sure the minecraft style works well ever. Music was fantastic. Played with 3 people.
I made an online multiplayer game the past two ludum dares, so I can relate to it being difficult to get people to rate your game without being on their own. I found three solutions; make a bot client that runs on a server and plays with people who have no other people to play with, rate some games and leave the page open to lower your default score so multiple people play before rating, and submit your game to streams where people play your game live. It's a little tedious to have to do this to get ratings, which is why I'm probably not doing it again soon. :P
The puzzles are fantastic, and the graphic style works apart from the monster and hero. Story could have been a little better.
Hilarious, even if there isn't much to it it's cool. Graphics really work too! My best score is 3, though I could probably get more if I were patient enough with my award winning strategy of "only drag myself along with o and p". Too bad there's no audio, and it could use a bit of context... :( (title screen, end game state, high score tables?)
Cool idea, really like the overworld graphics. Not hard to avoid dying tho, and there doesn't seem to be an end goal. :(
Absolutely hilarious, love the all of the guy's faces. The gameplay is a little basic, but it's all really polished. nice work!
Nice game for a few hours! Music was fab despite there not being much. The kill screen is super cool, though I may have contracted some form of photosensitive epilepsy from watching it happen.
Also, why isn't this in pico-8. 8O|
Pretty simple, but gets to job done. I "loose"d a few times, but it was quite easy to beat cos it was so short.
The prince is confident, and he is fiiine. ;) Forcing the player to kill a child is a little on the edgy side, and also made no sense cos it was like night? The kobold children looked like techies, so I couldn't really bring myself not to kill them anyways. Nice work.
Really fun, and cool idea. Graphics were pretty charming, and the music was both appropriate and well made. The people flipping instantly caught me out a few times though, it's just like eyes appeared on the back of their head or something... Really fantastic tho.
That scream sound effect was like, the worst thing I've ever heard in my life. I
I was just able to shoot everyone without using the stealth mechanics. The last mission didn't seem to work correctly, it asked for me to kill 20 civilians but after everyone was dead only 10 remained. Looks like if you die in the last mission the quota increases by 10 each time.
Not sure what was happening, but I managed to flood the world and make what I can only assume are red worm cities. Took a while to afford a condo but I got there. I also got stuck somehow? Nice graphics.
You're FIN-ished! Absolutely hilarious. Too bad you couldn't get more art in, I'm sure the remaining bad hairstyles would have been a sight to behold. Music is fabulous.
The graphics blew my mind. There's an awful lot to do and it all feels really complete, and well thought out! Could have really used some music or something though, and the combat got a little boring after a while.
I'm not too sure why everyone is out to get Kevin either. Must be something bad if the whole school sans 7 people want to punch him on sight. :P
Beautiful game though. I just wish that my laptop switched to Nvidia GFX to run it, as it was chugging a bit on the intel. but nooo, google chrome has to run on the slow pos >:(
Cool, I like the sequence at the start, even if it doesn't work right on the WebGL version. The audio is a bit much here, seems like everything has been overdriven to max volume. It's fun to start, but could use some opposition later into the game.
@haloguy297 If you're still alive to be able to read this, you'll be pleased to find out that there is a mute button on the pico-8 client. Really dishing out some sick burns there though, unless it was an HTML5 performance issue?
Fantastic. What a game. My ears kind of hurt though.
Graphics and audio are beyond comprehension, wow. Incredibly solid entry - the whole feel of it is spot on.
A game like this should not lag this much on web - you can do a surprising amount with javascript at a solid 60 fps, so I'm not sure how your game is struggling here.
It was incredibly hard to parse the rhythm and follow it on both web and desktop, due to an unusually high input delay and maybe the format the notes were presented in. Thankfully, the game was rather forgiving, so it just let me spam the buttons at the right speed, and I had to go by vision instead of sound to get perfects..
Despite the technical issues, this is a real achievement for 72 hours. I especially love the death metal track. Amazing work!
Best audio ever. Loved how the music became minor for the boss fight - and the gameplay was quite interesting once I had to start getting walls between me and the enemy. Nice work!
Cool game, voice acting was spot on! The road navigation system, however, was beyond consusing. I think it needs some kind of map... I'm not sure who the killer was, but the guy who played "terr ah ria" was my prime suspect. Very solid entry!
You used 3 buttons!!! Up, down and quit! UNACCEPTABLE
The bird should probably fly faster, and I would have rather had the sound at the end of year one not clip to the point of becoming white noise. I like the parallax on the buildings, which brings me to another point... how are they still standing perfectly after a nuke??
Kinda funny, would have been better if there were more content. Not really getting the theme here tho. :(
Nice game. It got a little hard to click the right answers when they started overlapping the wrong ones continuously.. But I like the idea, and although short it proved rather difficult and innovative.
I don't understand what the point of the growing button indicator is, and the point when it covers the "hole" screen looks like it will be sometime tomorrow at this rate. The game itself is quite fun to play, the problem is that things aren't making much sense right now.
There are a few searing problems that don't appear to have been pointed out in the comments here, so I'm going to go out and say them.
For one, there's a very good reason that people don't do 3D graphics using ray marching - this game performs like shit on my GTX 870m, and looks like it too. It's popular in shadertoy for lightweight vfx, but not games. Please stick to using normal textured triangles in future.
I don't think you understand what Ludum Dare is. All of your submissions, including one on "terop2" that was just an unfinished chess game, seem to ignore the themes entirely. A random growing sphere on the other side of the pitch is NOT a direct **gameplay** link to either the growing or two button control themes. The games need to also be built from scratch, that is, not a repurposing of the same assets you made in a previous MiniLD or warmup.
You might want to look into why "GameAPI" is taking up literally 40MB as a dll. I don't think even the linux kernel is that big. You might want to try using Unity.
The gameplay itself is awfully simple.
I like moving into a wall to slow myself down, but the enemies were rather annoying and hard to avoid. Also, deadly kites??? Fire breathing birds?? Unusually shaped buildings???? Where am I? 8O|
Well put together, and feels pretty complete apart from lack of audio.
Cool game! Rather simple, but it works. It's easy just to stay near the top. The audio is the worst thing I have ever heard, the game would have been better without it... 8O| Love the face on the main character.
Cool idea, could have used better presentation though. It seemed like you copy pasted lines for certain things, like the expensive gifts and pets, which was a little weird. It was sort of disappointing that the choices didn't affect the ending. Music was fitting!
Really polished game, though I was able to win incredibly easily by spamming "fuck you" in chat and picking steal every time until the other person gave up or left. ;)
Cool, I managed to set the world on fire. Reminds me of katamari, both in that you collect things smaller than you to grow and that there is little opposition. Could have used a timer or something to make the goal a little harder. Was fun while it lasted though, good job!
Rather simple, but it works! Could have used at least some audio tho - when in doubt, use SFXR!
@Remicy looks like server went down somehow, unfortunately can't deal with it for another 4 hours.
Guys, if there's a problem contact me on twitter! It should be back up now, I'll quickly rate some games and will make sure it's up for the full duration.
Whoops, burst growth is completely broken. a little late to notice that...
I just fixed burst growth so that it doesn't instantly end the game. Technically a typo, the problem was 1/60*3 instead of 1/(60*3).
@BunchaSapsGames you just described every game in the genre... I'm not sure how this was to be avoided.
