LD23 — Tiny World

Underfoot by zorf 2012-05-03T02:44:00

Didn't seem to start for me on Windows 7 64 bit.

The Great Adventure of Mr.Galaxis by TobiasNL 2012-05-10T16:12:00

Awesome graphics and audio. The game has a lot of polish and bounciness. The only problem was that for me the game was too hard to the point of being frustrating, and I could never stay alive longer than a few minutes. Of most of the games I've played, this one feels the most like a real game!

The Great Adventure of Mr.Galaxis by TobiasNL 2012-05-10T16:30:00

I think I echo another posting in saying it would have been much nicer to have each of the directional keys be thrust in that direction. Your game caused me to want to keep playing though, because I had to beat at least one level. The end of the level in which I had to destroy all the huge asteroids was very satisfying.

snowglobe by manax 2012-05-03T03:17:00

The idea of a snowglobe fits this theme very nicely. I would have loved to see what this would turn into with more time.

I Should Clean My Keyboard by cmo7 2012-05-03T02:58:00

Haha - very well done! Excellent humor and mood. Excellent use of the theme. I lol'd several times while playing. There wasn't an incredibly deep amount of strategy in the actual gameplay itself, but overall an enjoyable experience.

Tiny Shards by Gabriel 2012-05-02T18:56:00

Truly a 5-star performance.

Around the World in 80 Seconds (or less) by gormio 2012-05-02T18:07:00

Cool! This looks like it has the potential to be a fun little game if you flush out the gameplay aspects.

Tondie and Zupe by Cosmologicon 2012-05-11T04:21:00

A true 5-star performance. One of the most fun games I've played yet. Awesome job.

Tiny Timmy and Big Bill by OmarShehata 2012-05-03T20:16:00

A 5 star performance all around! This game is excellent - highly polished, funny, challenging, excellent graphics - awesome job.

Tiny (Growing) World by homelinen 2012-05-04T16:07:00

A solid start, the concept has potential if you flesh it out.

Nexus Rails by argo15 2012-05-03T18:55:00

Cool! I really like the opening - you have to know how to play in order to advance at all, so there is not as much of a chance of not figuring out what you are supposed to be doing.

Neat graphics, cool little world. High mood points from me.

It might have been a bit easier if the camera was zoomed out further. Also a bit short.

Dude, where's my planet by Zamando 2012-04-27T03:46:00

Really well done. The graphics are awesome, has a lot of polish. Controls were a bit frustrating and hard to figure out at first, but once I understood them, they worked well.

Get The FROG Off My World !! by CitrusPunchSamurai 2012-05-02T20:51:00

HA. This game concept is so random. I love it. I got 69.

Seeds Of Destruction by MrPhil 2012-05-02T18:22:00

Haha, really funny idea. Excellent graphics, good use of the theme. Excellent work.

Tiny Huge Planet by Jesper Oskarsson 2012-05-04T16:28:00

Oh this is a unique twist. The game looks interesting - I'll have to try it. Not a computer game so no scores for graphics and audio.

Shorted Out by HybridMind 2012-05-03T03:21:00

Nicely done 48 hour game. A bit short, but well executed and polished.

Tiny Whirled Piece by Martoon 2012-05-05T03:28:00

2321! Very interesting and unique concept. It took me a little bit to understand what I was supposed to do, but I eventually got the hang of it.

Tiny Stomp by DoktorAce 2012-05-03T18:49:00

Awesome game! Highly polished, funny, fun, and original. Not much in the audio department, but otherwise excellent.

Amnesic prince by qosmos 2012-05-08T16:04:00

Super job for 48 hours! Really cool graphics, a neat story. I loved the king on the tiny planet. Consider making the screen smaller or resizable. My friend couldn't play very well at all on his 600px high netbook screen, and I could barely fit it all on my 14' laptop. Well done!

Mini-Worlds and Monocles by Zed 2012-05-03T03:15:00

Well polished game - nicely done! The humor was terrific - I loved the storyline, and I also discovered the "sexy pants dance." Nice homemade sound effects as well. One critique would be that I felt like the fun factor was a little bit lacking. Perhaps you could add another gameplay mechanic to spice up the levels. Overall, excellent job for 48 hours!

Galactic Taxi by remeh 2012-05-07T18:04:00

Hey, I just happen to be one of the >1% running 64bit Arch Linux! Cool little game. The graphics are simple but effective and very clean. Nice 8 bit music and sound effects. I accidentally murdered a customer, but didn't know why - is it only based on how fast you are going when you pick them up?

1 Seed by Gemberkoekje 2012-05-02T17:57:00

Not bad! Sound effects and audio were ok, graphics were unpolished but effective. Good use of the theme. There wasn't too much strategy involved - I basically planted a few seeds and then waited until they grew. The tutorial was very helpful and I knew exactly how to play after reading it.

As someone else said, there is a lot of potential here if you continue to polish the game. Nicely done and congrats on completing a working game in 48 hours!

Tiny world helicopter rescue by jedilemons 2012-05-05T03:22:00

Awesome job for your first ever Ludum Dare! Congrats on finishing a game! Gameplay was a bit tedious, and the helicopter sound effects were a little annoying after a while, but cute graphics, and a solid effort.

tiny world war by Jonny D 2012-05-02T18:18:00

Ooo, a multiplayer game. I didn't have anyone to play with either, but this looks like it would be fun with more people. Also, the game crashed after I finished a round.

Intertubes by Jack 2012-05-05T03:39:00

13031! Excellent game - I had fun playing it. Sometimes games in this contest have other elements, but forget the fun factor. This game held my interest!

Amoebae by scgrn 2012-05-02T18:27:00

I got 76 noms! Love it. Very polished, and I approve of your snarky menu entry.

Get Tiny! by DomNomNom 2012-05-02T19:03:00

Pretty short, but polished. Reminded me of Osmos.

Invasion Of Tiny World by gregdevice 2012-05-02T18:14:00

Nice game. Good graphics, fitting sound (a bit loud at times), very good mood. Not exactly sure how it fits the theme.

Merlin, Build Me a Castle by ChrisWhitman 2012-05-02T19:07:00

Nicely done. I didn't have anyone to play with, but it looks like it would be interesting. Could use some more building materials.

Breakdown on a Tiny World by WookooUK 2012-05-03T02:42:00

Not bad for 6 hours. I can tell you would have been able to do more with more time. A good start.

Junior's Car by Khayet 2012-05-02T19:00:00

I love the items on the desk. You get full bars for humor. One nitpick is that I was holding down the up key at the end and advanced past the ending on accident. (I did the same thing in my game!)

LD25 — You are the Villain

The Good Doctor by Sestren 2012-12-17T03:27:00

Is your character supposed to be the black death? Cool take on the theme to be the disease or some aspect of it. I liked the mood, and the sound effects added to that. Not too deep of gameplay as you mentioned. Good job of finishing something playable!

Untitled by dansludumdare 2012-12-17T04:48:00

I wasn't quite sure what was happening for most of the time and had to figure out the goal, but it was very moody. Nice effects.

Obamapology by SuperDisk 2013-01-03T03:37:00

So yes, you may have broken several rules, but this is one of the funniest games I've seen in a while. I lol'd several times. Yay!

This Is How It Ends by Ted Brown 2012-12-18T22:40:00

Very moody and heavy. I was intrigued and wanted to keep playing to see what would happen. Nice story development, and great job overall for a weekend!

Train Splat by [-BipolarDesign+] 2012-12-18T01:24:00

Excellent theme tie in. Interesting gameplay mechanic. I really like your graphics. The whole of the game is very pleasant, and I love the filler boxes with the word train on them. :) Well done for 48 hours!

HA!HA!HA! by KEFIR 2012-12-17T14:03:00

Fun little game. I liked the intro and the little guys running around. It seems easy to get stuck - I had a soldier covering all of my guys and couldn't do anything but watch my aerostat die. Nicely done for 48 hours!

(Don't) Save Christmas by infernet89 2012-12-17T03:56:00

Hahaha - I laughed out loud when I played this game. Full marks for humor and theme tie in, as well as nice music.

SUPER Witch Hunter Pro by Gungnir 2012-12-26T14:16:00

Excellent entry, love the 2.5D graphics. They remind me of an Animal Crossing-like feel.

Sword Beats Vampire by Certainty 2013-01-03T03:52:00

I might suggest putting your swf file into an html page so it is easier to open. Some people might not know to open it in their browser.

Second Skin by MrAmazingSocks 2012-12-18T01:18:00

Cool concept. I like the idea of taking over dead things. Would have been nice to have a goal. Also are all of your graphics stretched? They look a little garbled. Nice job for 48 hours!

Micro Mob by chrismwaite 2012-12-17T21:00:00

Nice little game. I managed to beat it after a few attempts. Though not incredibly flashy, it is complete. Well done!

Weapons of Mass Construction by dan.jeffrey 2012-12-17T04:30:00

Awesome awesome game! It felt like a legit finished product. And it kept me interested long enough to completely finish it. The ending was a bit anticlimactic, but I wasn't exactly expecting a deep plot for a puzzle game. One minor nitpick is that it seems like the bomb guys make some of the later levels too easy. I didn't need to use the other items sometimes and could just put a bomb out and it would eat the robot.

The bomb guys are hilarious, by the way.

Excellent job! Especially for your first game ever!

Sammich-Napper by Noah Ratcliff 2012-12-18T01:34:00

Hmm, on my Windows 7 setup I can start the game and can get to the first level, but when I touch the sammich it won't pick it up. Any ideas? I love your opening menu and the glass breaking effects by the way. Would love to try the rest.

Glimmy by apeandskate 2012-12-17T04:42:00

Awesome! A nice quick playing experience you could play when you need a five minute break. I like your sound effects.

My Days with the Princess by 138 2012-12-17T20:29:00

I wasn't quite sure what was happening here. I think it is a tower defense game? I clicked around a lot and managed to buy some units but I'm not sure if I won or not. Even a short description of how it works would be helpful, but looks like you've got a good little chunk of code written.

I Hate Christmas by leothecool 2012-12-17T04:38:00

A fun little game! I like how you snuck the goat in there. Always fun to punch goats. Is it possible to get everything? I had one piece of sock left when the time ran out. Is there a special ending?

Villain on a train by pinion 2012-12-18T22:58:00

Really liked the sound of the intro music. Also, fun little game. There wasn't really any strategy, just random messages, but still entertaining. Well done for your first Ludum Dare ever! I hope you join the fun again.

Also, I lol'd at the homemade sound effects.

Sealed Evil by Neonlare 2013-01-03T03:06:00

This is the best game I've played this ludum dare. The core gameplay mechanic is very satisfying, especially in the later stages of the upgrade process. I'm very impressed that there is a different song for every level. The graphics are awesome, very funny, and it is the best use of the theme I've seen yet. This game made me feel the most villainous of any game I've played, and it was a giant bouncing coke can. Awesome!

Lucky Luddite by lucky.luddite 2012-12-18T01:17:00

Cool game. It looks good and has pretty good audio. Can you actually win the game, or just last as long as possible?

Super Agent Run by dcolgan 2012-12-17T02:12:00

YOU ARE Super Agent Man. You are sworn to protect the king and his castle from bad guys by being the early warning scout.

Today there is a problem and you must warn the king fast or else!

Left and right arrows to run, space to jump, down arrow to roll, and hold a directional arrow against a wall and hit space to wall jump equal in power to the horizontal momentum you hit the wall with. Keep hitting space to jump higher.

Lose to see the theme connection.

I finished just in time! WOOT.

Super Agent Run by dcolgan 2012-12-18T04:00:00

@BipolarMike, you have to lose to see the connection.

EVIL SOUL EATING DEMON LORD FROM HELL in HAPPY KINGDOM by Mago 2013-01-03T02:08:00

Haha, I like how there is no subtlety in your theme usage. It's just "YOU ARE EVIL DEMON LORD FROM HELL KILL EVERYTHING."

Nature's Villain by bach 2012-12-17T13:57:00

Neat and an ambitious idea. Really nice tile graphics. The game did freeze on me on the second level, and there isn't much strategy yet, but an excellent 48 hour product. Good job!

Hunter to Hunted by Jwatt 2012-12-19T18:46:00

Awesome. This feels like a real life Atari game. Love that it has a completely original mechanic.

Another Castle by RosyPenguin 2012-12-28T20:26:00

Awesome for 72 hours! The game has it all: graphics, music, gameplay, humor. Solid game. Full stars!

Princess Keeper by lorancou 2012-12-17T15:32:00

Nice work! I like your sound effects and audio. Are you playing the music on a physical instrument? One thing I noticed is you can get rid of pieces by dragging them to areas that aren't the center column.

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Time Ball! by mort96 2013-08-26T03:05:00

Your game made me oo and ah at the rewind thing. This is a nice take on the endless runner thing. At first I wanted you to be able to rewind out of death, but then I realized that the game would not be a game then - so it's like a reaction game but also gives some forgiveness. Very cool! Polish this up and stick it on Kongregate!

Rush by JPatrick 2013-08-27T23:06:00

I like the fast paced action. You might consider making it a bit slower but overall very nice for 48 hours!

Stay Alive by Jools64 2013-08-26T05:13:00

I am in awe. You win the stream tonight. 5s all across the board. Super well polished, I literally LOL'd most of the time playing it. The collision detection might need a bit of tweaking but nothing you can't handle. +10 internets.

Satyr Run by realtutsgml 2013-08-27T17:45:00

Very funny game. The audio is amazing. I wish that the character was further to the left on the screen so I could see more of where I'm going. Awesome job for 48 hours!

Its A Whole New World In... by Thepattybeast 2013-08-27T23:14:00

I like your robot character. Endless runners are always fun, the music was a bit grating, but otherwise nicely done for 48 hours!

Sundial by Recursiveanomaly 2013-08-26T04:08:00

Solid solid game. Awesome for 48 hours. You should totally continue work on this. The lighting effects were pretty and the controls where very fluid. +1 internets

Bragmor the Barbarian by Codexus 2013-08-29T20:42:00

I love your voice acting. And the character models are very impressive. Knowing when to swing the hammer was bit difficult to figure out but overall excellent work for a weekend!

Super Intense Arena Battle Extreme by HardScore 2013-08-26T02:18:00

Solid entry good sir. The graphics and audio are excellent and the game is fun. The gun seemed a bit weak but that may not really be a problem. Awesome job for 48 hours!

Robot Rodeo by anjack 2013-08-26T02:34:00

Props for rebindable keys and it's always fun to make a thing get bigger and badder. You might consider giving the player some starting money to make it start faster. Nicely done for 48 hours!

Real Life Simulator by Spaghetti and Meatball 2013-08-27T02:39:00

This is the first game I've played that had an existentialism meter. You certainly nailed the dark humor, and the graphics have a certain charm.

Umbra Machina by TheMaster99 2013-08-27T17:27:00

Very fun concept guys! The fast pace action was pretty fun. It would have been nice to maybe have a little more view of the right side of the screen so I can tell when to jump. A fun take on the endless runner concept. Great job for 72 hours!

Keg Quest by Crazi456 2013-08-27T22:55:00

Full stars across the board! YOU WIN. AWESOME GAME. You should add more levels and put it on Kongregate and make money.

Fast-Paced Card Action: 10 Second Card Game by Baknik 2013-08-27T23:59:00

Awesome entry! Very clean graphics and the audio is very fitting. Also highly innovative. You should totally keep going with this!

Your last 10" by Sithdown 2013-08-27T02:31:00

Looks like this has some potential. You are supposed to be able to drag objects around to make the 10 second scene come out differently? You should definitely keep working on this.

Richard Was Afraid Of The Dark by Atmospherium 2013-08-29T18:10:00

Very nice storytelling and very moody. You might consider increasing the friction a bit on the character but nicely done for 48 hours!

Boulder Runner by tinfoilboy 2013-08-26T04:40:00

This is a funny little game. I like it. I feel like if you polish this some more you will have a fun little twitchy game on your hands. It just seems very fun to me. Super job for 48 hours!

Flash Memory by Turkey 2013-08-26T03:10:00

Congrats on entering your first Ludum Dare! This game has potential, I might suggest making it a bit easier, like have fewer categories of things. Keep up the good work!

Just Another Game With A 10 Second Mechanic by jugglerrob 2013-08-28T03:08:00

This is one of the most unique games I've played! Very trippy graphics and excellent audio and a neat use of the theme. Polish it some more and it could do well on Kongregate. Took a while to understand, so maybe you could beef up the tutorial.

10 Second Zombies by technocf 2013-08-26T03:45:00

Super cool graphical affects, and its awesome that you made them by hand. The store thing seems pretty elaborate and the game is complete so very good job for 48 hours!

Hit'n Eat by AtomicVikings 2013-08-27T23:26:00

Nicely done you guys. Polish this up some more and you will have a nice little game. Great job for 72 hours!

Unexpected Security by Spiderhund 2013-08-27T23:50:00

Very clean graphics and good humor. You should keep polishing this game. Nicely done for a weekend!

Use it wisely by goodpaul6 2013-08-28T02:38:00

Cool concept and excellent take on the theme. You should polish this some more and you'll have a nice little game. Great job for 48 hours!

LevelUp! by m110 2013-08-29T18:22:00

This game is very fun! Super job for 48 hours!

A Maurading Guy by sthreet 2013-08-26T02:57:00

An interesting mechanic with the rock/paper/scissors type battling. With some more polish I feel like this could go somewhere. It would probably help a lot to have a key reset the game instead of moving the mouse over.

10 seconds to die by mrcdk 2013-08-26T04:56:00

I am highly impressed, especially if you had limited time for this. You should put this on Kongregate after polishing some. It is SOLID.

Prelude of the Vorpal Blade by oxysoft 2013-08-26T04:22:00

This looks like a solid engine. You should definitely keep deving on this. The game you described sounds fun. Nice work for 48 hours!

Entropy by Supercannon 2013-08-28T02:53:00

I like your use of the theme, and the starburst effect of shooting a wall. Nicely done for a weekends worth of work!

Mechanical Covert Espionage by EncryptedCow 2013-08-29T17:35:00

Very polished for a weekend. You should add more levels and put it on Kongregate! Nice graphics and audio, I sort of wish I didn't have to start over from the title screen when I died, but I'm sure that will come with adding more levels.

OKAI by Rongefilet 2013-08-27T02:29:00

Really good looking graphics and nice audio. The gameplay is a bit repetitive, I wonder if you could add something that would add some urgency to the game. Great job for 72 hours!

Perfect Ten by Zoey Frost 2013-08-29T18:02:00

Very nice for 48 hours! Good audio and nice puzzle design and pacing.

Pixel Invasion by Jamsterx1 2013-08-26T03:19:00

Super job good Jamster! I love the audio and the surrealist graphics. You've got everything that full game needs - humor, action, title screen, easy to understand. Polish this some more and you've got a fine game on your hands. +1 interents

Legend of Epikouros by Erhune 2013-08-27T17:39:00

This is a really cool idea for the theme of 10 seconds. I'm not sure how much fun I necessarily had or how much replay value it has, but super cool concept.

Biform by Reevezy 2013-08-26T04:34:00

Very cool. The drawing your own platforms is a nice take on the endless runner sort of game. You might consider adding a distance meter to the UI during the game. I don't feel like the game is really lacking anything as far as major features. Awesome job for 48 hours!

SUPER NUKE ROMAN EMPIRE by brogrammers 2013-08-27T02:50:00

Nicely done! Excellent pixel graphics and a cool backstory concept.

Freeze Box by SamC 2013-08-28T00:17:00

Solid job good sir! Very nice graphics and mood. You should keep polishing this game!

Ten 2nd's by Nights57 2013-09-17T00:53:00

Haha this game is hilarious and a great alternate use of the theme.

Top down zombie Runner by supersammy7000 2013-08-28T02:47:00

Keep up the great work supersammy! Excellent job on your first game ever. I wish you the best in your game making career!

Off Balance by pragmascript 2013-08-27T18:02:00

Excellent interpretation of the theme. Your game kept me occupied until the end! Nicely done for 48 hours. You should make more levels and put this on Kongregate.

Coin Collecter by nitrocrime 2013-08-26T02:47:00

You got me to play until the end, so nicely done. Upgrade games are fun. Nice job for 8 hours especially.

Mr Moore's Last Seconds by Tainted_Code 2013-08-27T22:14:00

Excellent storytelling and graphics and music you guys. The mood was excellent too. Thanks for letting me voice act in it!

Time Wizard by zzForrest 2013-08-27T23:37:00

This game is really going somewhere. You should keep making it. Very complete for 48 hours!

Ten Second Days by SmallDeadGuy 2013-08-26T16:10:00

I give 5 stars for mood. The music and story were cool. Nicely done for 48 hours!

Low Battery by RHY3756547 2013-08-29T18:36:00

Wow this game is exciting! I'm super impressed by the amount of particles smoothly updating on screen! Very fast paced and fun. Awesome job. You should keep going with this and put it on Kongregate!

Concave 8 by Taugeshtu 2013-08-27T22:26:00

Very interesting art style. You might add some way to let the player know where they are supposed to be going to make it more than just randomly trying to find the exit. Looks like it has potential though. Great job for 48 hours!

10 Second Apocalypse by SuperPokeunicorn 2013-08-26T03:32:00

Awesome job for your first LD and first game ever! I like the graphics of the player and the monsters. Interesting backstory. The gameplay is a bit slow, perhaps if you added some sort of weapon or powerups that could help, but nicely done for 48 hours!

LD28 — You Only Get One

YO GORGL: You Only Get One Randomly-Generated Level. by dbro 2013-12-16T05:39:00

I have epilepsy now. Sorry. D:

Shatter by Cherno 2013-12-16T06:21:00

Really good use of the theme. Could maybe be a little faster paced.

The Colosseum by CryoGenesis 2013-12-16T03:13:00

Very cool mechanic! I feel like this could be expanded on into a larger game.

SEINOU by Harsay 2013-12-16T06:23:00

Cool platformer - I like the different mechanics and good use of the theme.

One man, one shot by lightsoda 2013-12-16T04:08:00

Super nice graphics and audio and mood. You've definitely got that part down. I'd suggest adding checkpoints to make it a bit less frustrating but very much enjoyed the mood of the game.

Only one Cookie by Linus Lindberg 2013-12-24T01:34:00

Haha I love the premise of this game. Your characters are very funny looking and well drawn, and an excellent use of the theme. Also I didn't know Love2D could be done in the browser. Fancy!

Deckade Dungeon by roaet 2013-12-16T03:44:00

Hmm, I think you aren't supposed to use other graphics, even if you modify them. But cool concept.

You have one NAND by Phyyl 2013-12-16T06:06:00

This is a neat way to learn logic gates. Some refining could make it really shine. Also you don't have to connect both ends of a gate for it to give a value, which can be exploited. Nicely done!

Boomerang by Deity 2013-12-16T06:44:00

Very fun! It's a video game boomerang simulator game.

SHIFTER by Atmospherium 2013-12-16T03:34:00

Wow that was a full multimedia experience! You had it all. Loved the humor and the audio in general. 5 stars overall.

Bursts by sam1373 2013-12-16T04:45:00

Couldn't seem to hit very easily but might be a computer difference. Very nice juicy visual effects and audio. Also impressed by the random level generation.

Ninja Theif by Turkey 2013-12-16T03:24:00

Very cool random maze generation. You only getting one bullet is a better use of the theme than my game I'd say. Nice work for 48 hours.

Sweat Marathon by oxysoft 2013-12-16T03:49:00

THIS GAME IS AMAZING. I WANT MORE LEVELS. THE ENGINE IS HERE.

You Only Get One Key by Reevezy 2013-12-16T03:37:00

Haha a surprisingly fun game for only 30 minutes of dev.

You Only Live 1e+32nce by JordanFitz 2013-12-16T03:18:00

Yay Jordan Fitz! I am impressed by your raw canvasing. Can you actually beat the 50 guy?

Only One Remains by huhwhozat 2014-01-02T14:38:00

Cool idea! High marks for innovation and great use of the theme. The graphics were functional and the sound effects were really good even with the lack of music. I wish that the pacing would have been a little faster - every time you die you have to sit for what feels like a very long time before you get back to the action. It feels like the game needs something else to be truly fun, but it has a very good base. Good job!

No double jump :( by Wspon 2013-12-16T06:34:00

Very difficult platformer. I do like the theme integration. As the people in the stream said, reminds me of Boshi. Nicely done for 48 hours.

One Cell by xaedes 2013-12-16T04:34:00

This is a really cool start to a game. Keep going with it.

Light Away by ajfischer 2013-12-16T04:54:00

Very original mechanic, good use of the theme, fitting audio. Cool idea for a game, you should totally make more levels.

Last Minute Christmas Chopping by Notch 2013-12-16T05:09:00

Seems you must mash pretty hard to win. Impressive technical scores though.

The Single Block by Static_boy123 2013-12-16T03:28:00

Very interesting mechanic and good use of the theme. A little glitchy but nice work for 48 hours!

Space Kitty Race by Polyganz 2013-12-16T05:31:00

This game has some great potential. You should definitely keep polishing it. Nicely done for 48 hours!

Out by SuperPokeunicorn 2013-12-16T03:04:00

Interesting storytelling and twist ending! High marks for mood. Platforming was a bit tight but worked to advance the storyline.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Ostrich Simulator 9001 by kivifreak 2014-04-30T18:23:00

Truly the greatest LD game ever. You definitely had me playing for over an hour. Full marks all around.

Pearl Diver by samooJAM 2014-04-30T18:16:00

Nicely done sir! The swimming controls are very nice, and the graphical abstract style works well.

Whac-A-Something! by LPGhatguy 2014-05-08T21:39:00

Controls are very responsive. Should I be concerned that I took great pleasure in giving out broken limbs to small animals? I also like how hitting a pumpkin turns it into a pie. Good job!

Wormhunter by Thorig 2014-05-08T21:21:00

Pretty cool little game here. Graphics are excellent, and very atmospheric. The controls are solid and the engine seems like it could be taken further. Nicely done!

Behind the Surface by YourLocalFax 2014-05-03T23:43:00

Nicely done, and cool mechanic.

Subaquaneam Croceum by technocf 2014-04-30T18:32:00

Pretty cool mood and graphics, though a bit hard to collect all the science in time.

meltafreezeteleport: iceberg caver (I'm bad at names) by sthreet 2014-05-04T00:30:00

The core mechanic of this game is solid, even if a bit rough around the edges. Keep it up Sthreet!

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-05-08T21:36:00

Very nicely done for a 48 hour contest! I'm impressed by all that you managed to pull together, between voice acting, music, and pretty well designed puzzles. I'm not convinced that you really need the cooldown timer, as it really only made me wait around before continuing. It also took me a little bit to figure out how the buttons worked, but there is lots of potential here.

Flooded Mines by Zerkruemler 2014-05-08T15:46:00

Very original mechanic! Nicely done.

Nuclear Waste Zone by granut100 2014-05-03T23:45:00

Excellent entry for your first LD! A little sticky on the collisions but overall the game has all the ingredients.

Superficial by JordanFitz 2014-05-20T00:33:00

I love the atmosphere in this, and also the humor. I want to see where this was heading.

Gold Rush by GiveMeAllYourCats 2014-04-30T18:22:00

This is an amazing first ever LD entry! A little frustrating in parts, and the collision and movement could be smoothed out, but there is a lot here that was done in 48 hours. Good luck in your future LD ventures.

Cave of Jagnog by danidre14 2014-05-08T21:04:00

Even though you didn't finish as much as you wanted in time, but there is quite a bit you do have implemented and this a good core to build from. Nicely done!

Any ship can be a MINESWEEPER... Once. by tehryanx 2014-05-09T22:10:00

Love the mouth sound effects. Also cool rippling water and a solid game mechanic. Nicely done!

I Rarely Go Outside by Blokatt 2014-05-08T20:55:00

Awesome entry! The visuals are very well done, the audio is good, the mood and theme are good, and it is a complete game. My only complaint is that it basically turned into chore simulator 2000 after a while, but you could definitely continue this further.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-05-08T21:15:00

Hahaha this is awesome. Great visuals and audio, and very funny. Excellent usage of the theme. One feature that would have been nice is to not have to start over from the beginning after getting caught. Awesome job!

Mission Rover by Gabriel1975 2014-05-08T15:40:00

Nicely done! I especially liked the explosion graphic when you die.

Drill18: The Mars Project by quill18 2014-04-30T19:09:00

I finished with several hundred trillion dollars. Woo! Awesome game for a weekend!

Side B, Track 1 by Taugeshtu 2014-05-04T00:41:00

Super cool Tau! The flipping thing gets good marks for theme usage, and I really like the bike models.

Surface Flip by SuperPokeunicorn 2014-05-04T00:00:00

I really like the game mechanic. I played this longer than most other LD games!

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Entire Game on One Screen Original Title 1 by Derbdale 2014-12-19T01:12:00

This is my favorite use of the theme so far.

Explosive Painting by snowyowl 2014-12-14T20:48:00

Really solid game. It has all of the pieces for a complete game, and I really liked the dynamic canvas aspect. Nice job!

One Screen Worship by Gungnir 2014-12-09T14:26:00

Hilarious concept, and awesome graphics.

To Continue by raincole 2014-12-11T08:02:00

Awesome game, really nice graphics and a very cool concept. And a compelling story to boot. Fairly challenging, but definitely a good experience.

A Very Short Age of Very Small Empires by ZYXer 2014-12-19T01:06:00

This game is surprisingly addictive and I played until I won. This seem like it could be a really cool mobile game.

Don't you touch da bouncy by Phyyl 2014-12-09T02:54:00

Not bad for a few hours of work. Kinda fun!

Ludum Clicker by RedPanda 2014-12-19T01:30:00

If only I could make 111 trillion new original video games every second. Then I too would have several quintillion dollars. Nicely done!

Let There be Pixels by TnT 2014-12-09T03:21:00

Gotta admin, this was quite fun! I love the interpretation of the theme.

Law Breaker by deepnight 2014-12-09T15:44:00

Amazing as always! You seem to be pretty good at Ludum Dares good sir.

Reindeers On Strike by toinfiniityandbeyond 2014-12-18T23:47:00

This makes me happy. And also a bit sad. Nicely done for 8 hours especially!

birdsong by managore 2014-12-09T14:41:00

This is he epitome of good theme use. Awesome job, full stars!

Build A Snowman by peejaygee 2014-12-09T03:02:00

Neat concept, but I think long-term playability may be an issue.

Walk to the door by el-pepi 2014-12-19T01:45:00

This is one of the more innovative puzzle games I've seen in a while. Excellent level design, the graphics fit very nicely, and nice audio too. You should release this for mobile and sell it!

Pipe Quest by Hot Box Games 2014-12-09T14:47:00

I had major issues with the controls. Trying to wall jump was next to impossible, so I didn't get to see the rest of the game. I think I tried for 5 minutes before giving up.

Desert Cat by The Walking Kiwi 2014-12-09T03:09:00

I wasn't quite sure what all the things on the screen were or how to figure out a strategy. I think some more instructions would be good.

Death Heap by madcapacity 2014-12-18T23:54:00

An interesting mechanic for sure. Sometimes it seemed like it didn't quite know when I was allowed to jump. Very nice music!

pkill by GGraca 2014-12-10T02:48:00

A bit sparse, but with enough fleshing out I feel like this is a really cool game idea in the making.

Space Iron by Caspila 2014-12-09T02:47:00

This game is addicting! The graphics style and the music are awesome.

AntiPlane by Grenac 2014-12-09T15:20:00

Amazing use of the theme. High marks for innovation and theme usage. A bit frustrating at times as it wasn't always clear where I was supposed to go, but eventually I did get to the end.

Dogs Peeing Everywhere by matt125 2014-12-19T01:19:00

This is the best game idea I've ever seen ever.

Where They Once Were by Hempuli 2014-12-09T14:40:00

Awesome game! Very atmospheric and excellent pixel graphics.

V for Vectory: Maximum Overquill Edition by quill18 2014-12-09T15:32:00

Very juicy! Love the effects and pretty good music too.

Can You Reach the Sun? by Garris 2015-04-21T20:51:00

Very cool mechanic! Would have appreciated some checkpoints as others have pointed out.

Sound Runner by Makay 2015-04-23T04:00:00

Very cool idea! And excellent music.

Block Trail by Thor7791 2015-04-22T15:21:00

Not bad for your first game! It was legitimately fun!

I Hate Golf by Geared Games 2015-04-23T04:52:00

Awesome idea and well implemented!

Unconventional Butts (WT) by seraphki 2015-04-23T06:25:00

Awesome idea, was a little hard to know what side I was using due to the camera.

The Rock the Paper and the Scissors by BIZM 2015-04-26T02:14:00

Truly excellent! Love the music and interesting game concept. 5s all around!

Rhythm Gunner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2015-04-21T04:05:00

Amazing, and pretty difficult. Coordinating the rhythm of shooting with dodging ememies is tough!

LD33 — You are the Monster

Aglæca by philomory 2015-09-05T03:28:00

This was really good. I would like to play a full version. The details in the intro and close are great. It is hard to really say what I would like to see more of as unfinished as it is, but maybe just more interaction with the map.

Synergistic Management Solutions by dkilford 2015-08-25T20:23:00

Really cool visual styles.

Monster Pizza by dalbinblue 2015-09-01T17:03:00

Super idea and really funny!

Takodemon by Split82 2015-09-11T23:30:00

I really want to like this game, but I have to confess I can not get very far in level two. It looks like a great idea, but I am not good enough on the key board or I just don't get it. The effect is that it is not much fun for me. Everything else is great though. I think the music in particular is excellent.

Who cares the M%rtgage by bukt 2015-09-11T22:43:00

Not much game in this game. It was funny and looked pretty nice. Comes off a bit preachy, but I am not in much of a position to throw stones.

Orange Squares...Beware! by Benn 2015-09-11T22:24:00

Very innovative and thought out design. I like the new idea, it just does not flow all that well. It is pretty clunky but the soundtrack fits and effects are nice. The minimalism is cool, but all the clicking and holding I find not to make very good gameplay. I think I see what you were doing with the theme, but not much there.

Trick Parade by SimonLarsen 2015-08-28T23:43:00

Works pretty well with everything. I wasn't blown away but I got some laughs out of it and it was pretty fun. I could not beat the ghost dog so the mini games can be pretty difficult even though there are not that many of them.

The Loved Ones by Stending 2015-09-13T17:11:00

No need to point out the repetitive nature and such. That is obvious. Obviously a compelling story telling technique. The drawings and design is fantastic. A small problem I guess you might call it is that due to the tedium I wanted to lose more times and see the effects so the story could advance and be done with it, but it feels morbid because of the nature of what is happening. It is a good way to communicate an ideal though.

Urd Monster by abcdef65g 2015-09-05T03:51:00

Good looking game. I think it could be good, but I could not get very far because I kept getting stuck. The sprite could not move anywhere. The graphics are great, but I wish it could have been a bit lighter although I think I see what you were going for with the flashlights. That was cool. I like the sprites.

Delicious Cortex by deepnight 2015-09-11T23:09:00

My overall mark for judging games is how long it can keep me playing without me feeling like I need to keep playing. Every time I resurrected, it was because I wanted to, not because of a sense of obligation. It was easy to learn, but got difficult fast. I spent a long time on the purgatory alone and I thought for sure that would be the last level, but there was at least one more and I could not get past it.

Hero Mate by Lancelot Gao 2015-09-01T16:11:00

Awesome use of the theme!

Mobs, Inc. by Pietro Ferrantelli 2015-09-11T22:13:00

This is good, but really hard. I got the first promotion and was really close to the second. I think I would have done better had I been using my trackball mouse. The humor was great and it looked cool too. Everything was well crafted. I am very impressed. I will probably come back to retry it.

GH4ST by Shaun LeBron 2015-09-11T21:56:00

Super cool. I love the premise here. The only level was really great and I think it is neat taking a concept that already exists, that pacman ghosts already have behaviors you can use, and turning it into a new puzzle game. If the content were there, I could see myself playing this a lot.

Death of a Lich by managore 2015-09-13T16:33:00

Pretty good game, difficult, strategic, easy to understand, broody, droning, atmospheric sound. Pretty swell.

Treatment and Control by Two Scoop Games 2015-08-25T19:19:00

Really nice atmosphere and great pixel art!

Anxiety : Last Night by Maxi and The Gang 2015-09-12T02:38:00

That was a pretty good scare. It really got me in the nearly wet my pants kind of category. Atmosphere is amazing.

Grave by uheartbeast 2015-09-13T16:44:00

Garden variety hack and slash. What sets it apart is the look. Incredible design, but the same take as a lot of people are doing with the theme. Nothing original there. Controls felt unresponsive at points. Despite some of its shortcomings, it was really quite fun. The control setup though was fluid and intuitive. Could be much better if made into a more dimensional streets of rage style brawler.

Who's The Monster by wellingtonbecker 2015-09-05T03:09:00

I dug this. One of the better shooters I have played so far. Two things make it really stand out, flipping the camera and having you shoot from the other side, that worked really well, and the variety in enemies. Different attacks might have been nice too or maybe enemies that take 2+ shots to take down. Intersting idea that you can not just dodge a tank.

Bus Crush by Selzier 2015-09-11T23:18:00

A game so nice I played it twice. I showed my wife and she slapped me.

Combover Monster Campaign Manager by andyman404 2015-08-25T20:22:00

This is amazing. Excellent use of the theme.

M.O.N.ST.E.R by lukethecoder64 2015-09-05T04:09:00

Much better than I thought when I had started. It kind of reminded me of the stunt tracks in the old Rush games. I like this kind of thing. The hovercraft like physics were hard getting used to but still fun. You could just spend more time messing around than actually accomplishing anything. Having your successful runs timed is a good idea. I do have to knock it down for not going along with the theme at all. Some more sounds would be nice to. A racing game without engine noise is pretty strange.

Give My Egg Back ! You Monster ! by Sanka-X 2015-09-01T17:05:00

Beat i! Had a fun time playing - this reminded me of some old school games I played when I was kid. The ticking clock / race aspect of it was a good challenge.

Maiden Voyage by ProgrammerSteve 2015-09-01T03:26:00

Overall, enjoyed this! I didn't manage to get all six without damage, so I guess I don't get a cookie, but I did finish the level! Fun premise and great integration with the theme!

Send them to Hell! by maguera93 2015-09-01T16:50:00

I really enjoyed this - I wish there had been more levels! :)
The music and sounds were fun, and the theme integration was perfect. Well done!

I Hunger by David Yates 2015-09-01T17:13:00

Very creative and well-written. I got the genocide ending and the forgotten ending. The ability to easily "undo" and go back is helpful and makes the experience more entertaining. Great work!

Cant i just stretch my neck peacefully ? by grynca 2015-09-01T16:27:00

Pretty fun! I like the controls.

Over The Course Of A Day by Blobo 2015-08-28T23:54:00

It did play for me, but some of the scenes were glitchy and unresponsive. It was an all right idea. The best parts were the humor and look of it.

Monster Doodle Battle! by superjai 2015-09-05T03:37:00

Perfect! This is fantastic. The computer was pretty unbeatable for me without a gamepad not being used to a keyboard but it hardly mattered. The drawings worked so well and looked so good as combinations. I thought it was really cool.

Storm the Castle by MasterZenith 2015-08-29T00:05:00

I may not really be the best for this because I do not have a lot of patience for this kind of thing. Instructions were pretty vague but it is fairly easy to figure out. There is not really a lot of fun to be had because things move pretty fast. My advice, slow things down A LOT. You need to be given time to learn what enemies are capable of as well as what your own guys can do. You are just thrown into it. That does not work well. Games like these for a competition I have found don't end up working.

Death Maze by Cursed Embassy 2015-09-05T02:56:00

Pretty good, I liked the idea and everything worked well enough. No real challenge, but as far as concept goes, fairly solid.

Me by jofra 2015-09-12T02:25:00

The treasure is obviously in the art. I liked the atmosphere and everything, but it ran really slow for me.

Sunset Monster by dregamr 2015-08-28T23:17:00

The game play is decent, nothing groundbreaking. Pretty simple idea. It is a bit unclear how things are supposed to work and what is going on. The hard mode is definitely hard and the enemy attacks are innovative. It was decent.

Sunset Monster by dregamr 2015-09-05T03:00:00

Okay, I had to come back to this game. It was the first I played and I did not think much of it. After playing some others though and seeing what they accomplished, this looks way better to me now. Overall, it is the best I have seen yet.

RGBlob by 966623 2015-09-11T23:58:00

I don't want to repeat all the great things people are already saying I am sure I agree with all of it. I get confused though beacause only some of the blobs can absorb other ones it seems. Also, the level with where you carry the block on your head was confusing, a demonstration or diagram for that ability would have been nice and some way to indicate when leaving a switch will return the blockade and when it won't would be helpful. Everything else, amazing.

Monstre de Coiffure by Patacorow 2015-09-12T02:06:00

Great super great. Everyone has already said everything.

The Cauldron of Humanity by Lashiz121 2015-09-01T16:58:00

I made it to level 4. Getting additional points was pretty hard, and I wasn't sure what the difference was between the different creatures I could spawn vs. spells I could cast, but the graphics/vibe was cool.

LD35 — Shapeshift

DRACUL64 by josefnpat 2016-04-23T01:48:00

I had to much trouble connecting to the server, but I was able to play on my own. It looked like it would have been good, I dig the Doom look.

OGLA by egos 2016-04-28T23:27:00

Pretty cool concept, I wasn't fully sure what I was doing, but it was pretty to look at!

my fathers apartment by emmelineprufrock 2016-04-25T02:31:00

It is difficult, because there really is not much to judge. I like what I see and that atmosphere is great. I am sure the Post Compo version will be much better and people will like it a lot.

Mike Rand in Fantasy Land by BrainSlugs83 2016-04-19T05:29:00

I liked the look of it most. Play was smooth though and everything worked well. I don't think there is much I can say that is not already obvious apart from that.

Get Yo' Baby Swole by Cosrnos 2016-05-08T00:11:00

Somehow I found myself caring some about the outcome of this game. Maybe I should just leave it at that.

BOT RACE by NickZangus 2016-04-29T01:28:00

I do not really go for runners a lot, but this works pretty well. The obstacles are cool and manage to stay fresh. I wish I had a controller instead of a key board for it. That is more on me than anything. I give it two thumbs in my armpits.

Xenosphere by oxysoft 2016-04-29T00:43:00

Hey Oxy! Thanks for rating our game. I really this this idea of almost an "adventure game" breakout game. Nice ideas.

Moveless Chess by Beavl 2016-04-19T02:47:00

Very cool idea! Great use of the theme.

Wrestling the RPG by Kate Kligman 2016-04-30T23:36:00

Title and screenshots alone made excited for this game. It seems like a sure thing, but it feels like the results are arbitrary and there just is not much there. In a game that lacks visuals, audio and much interaction, the game play needs to be enriched by lots of choices and branching paths. Of course, this all may have been hindered by the lack of time. In any case, I think the potential for this project is pretty incredible. Also, there were not choices in the actual match. That was disappointing, but maybe that was part of the intention. Nice!

Turbo Transform by Robber 2016-04-29T01:17:00

Very fun, I just wish I didn't have to start over from the beginning every time!

Pitch Black by ReactorScram 2016-05-05T02:33:00

I liked it, but the instructions I found confusing, I figured out the starting sequence, but no matter how long I waited revving my engine, the light never changed. I thought the sound and visuals were great.

Dr. Phase by NoTrueSpaceman 2016-04-19T02:27:00

Pretty cool mechanic!

The Last Shift Shaper: Preparation by Knowledge 2016-04-28T23:56:00

Well, in that case, what I was going to say is not going to be much use to you. I was trying to shape shift on the the "Central Unit" you called it. I could not get it to work. I wish there was more to it. I love minimalism though so do not be discouraged by that.

Possess by DeltaF1 2016-04-29T00:44:00

It looks like what you were trying to learn yourself in for got you somewheres. Congraturations! It kind of reminds me of Secret Collect meets Metal Gear.

Hotline Trump Tower by Skipi 2016-04-19T05:51:00

Windows download did not work for me.

Body Key by vicious_br 2016-04-26T15:44:00

Awesome - many Ludum Dare games fail to be a complete package, but this game has all the required ingredients for a real and actual game: gameplay, sound, graphics, challenge, pacing, etc. Nicely done for such a short time!

Wood for the Trees by ratking 2016-04-28T23:55:00

Pretty hard to get started, but once I figured out what was happening I got the hang of it. Very nice visual styles and good music.

Altered Beard by gillenew 2016-04-30T23:48:00

I know I keep saying this, but THIS IS THE BEST GAME. Everything that does not work/ make sense doesn't even matter because get an energy drink that turns you from a guy with a beard in shorts into a guy with a beard in a top hat and a suit. And you shoot hand bullets. Also, I assume that is play on Altered Beast, super awesome. I want this to be a full game.

Shift by CliffracerX 2016-04-29T00:15:00

Movement and collisions need tweaking. I am sure you know that though. Music, made the experience less enjoyable than I think it would have been without it. I did not make it past the first level. The box I had been nudging along reset after I went into a portal without it. Then I got mad and quit.

Doug's Existential Potato Paradox by Ryan Kline 2016-04-19T04:46:00

Great, funny a real stoner movie of a computer game. I like these kinds of things a lot, but I would also like to see more real gameplay. I will still rate well though.

Shift-Faced by tweedle 2016-04-19T03:57:00

I had a great time laughing about how goofy this was. Pretty funny and clever. I kind of appreciate in a way, games that combine genres like this. It is refreshing, but I wish there could have been differences between the dangers you would encounter as different animals.

Sergei's Virus by avinashd 2016-05-08T22:35:00

Awesome, first time I've seen a programming challenge on LD. Definitely requires some functional programming techniques. +10 for Haskell!

Super Sentinels by Brightstar 2016-04-23T01:58:00

Not much to add from what was said before me. Though I thought the timing needed to reflect needs some work.

Maelstrom Mayhem by OttersDen 2016-04-29T00:58:00

The attacks were pretty difficult to get to work. Movement was not very fluid and enemies were too hard to defend against. It did not really work for me.

VHS WARS by goodbadokay 2016-04-19T06:05:00

Pretty good, held my attention longer than most. Not that original, but a good take on classics. I can appreciate that it was not so punishing as many bullet hell games. You can really recover, not to mention take more than one hit. The way things blur when you get really blasted is really cool.

ˈSHāpˌSHift by GogglesKitty 2016-04-25T03:17:00

This did not work well for me. I did not have a lot of patience for it.

The Killer's Apprentice by PaulJs 2016-05-08T03:15:00

I played the first room and did not really care for the direction things were going. It was bit too grim for my tastes. I will say the format and visuals are really great from what I saw, I am just not into that kind of thing anymore. It reminds me of Killer 7 (from when I used to play that of thing) a bit in how it combines things in addition the gritty atmosphere.

Greenvasor by jakass 2016-04-23T02:08:00

It look like this could be going places but it was confusing and frustrating at this pint and I really do not know waht the goal was.

SUBJECT 26 by MSiddeek 2016-05-08T00:53:00

This is it right here. This is the new age of gaming. I am not being ironic in the least. I would rather play something like this than any of hundreds super high resolution first person shooter clones. For everything I have played during the competition, this is the brightest star yet. It is really very impressive the way the atmosphere is so well defined and put together. Simple interactive storytelling is a fantastic means to put together a deep gaming experience. I would love to play a polished version and see what you can come up with.

Wlobbie (Demo) by HeliosStudio 2016-04-19T02:51:00

What is here works pretty well, but it is pretty far from having much to go on. What is here is good though. The graphics are definitely the best thing here.

Disarranged by Sheepolution 2016-05-08T03:04:00

This is great. I love everything about it. It is really hard too. I had a heck of time trying to get that pot knocked over. I jumped around every where bu just could not get it the second time. I also thought you just needed to get the stuff in the center room. That took me enough times. The song is shocking and funny too. I loved it.

Inner Beast by 4B 2016-04-19T02:54:00

I agree with the below comments. Can no Play.

Shipshift Pronto by KhaoTom 2016-04-19T05:01:00

Cool idea, I just wish I didn't have to play through the whole tutorial every time I wanted to start over.

jelliskul by cakeknuckles 2016-04-19T04:16:00

Interesting twist on the animal rearing genre, but I am sure you know that. Some fun unexpected features I liked. I was a bit disappointed because it said there were four different endings but I always got the same one. Maybe I was missing something obvious though.

Oops! My Dear is a Deer by Remdiky 2016-04-29T01:12:00

Finally, a game that has a really clever use of the theme. This is what I have been waiting for, a game that is not about a triangle turning into a square. Also, I love that everything the laser hits turns into something that has its own movement patterns.

Dustin Finamore by fin_nolimit 2016-05-04T22:59:00

This works. Using textured blocks is a surprisingly tricky technique that I just was not getting the hang of. I like the use of it though and makes for deceptively difficult puzzles. It should have been easy, but thanks to years of moving right on a screen and not looking back I kept messing up.

Count Spoopy's dance club by MrBoxBox 2016-04-29T00:27:00

Cool cool, a good time is had by all playing of this game. Will make many fan. How make music stop. Will not stop is driving me mad. I close, it keeps going.

An Abnormality by TheCain 2016-05-08T02:05:00

I like this kind of thing a lot. Subtle, does not try to explain itself. You can take the time to figure it out and be rewarded or give up and play more Halo. Pretty good for the time it sounds like you spent.

Agent Shift by jollyserpent 2016-04-29T01:09:00

In_His_Mind by sylveax 2016-05-04T23:08:00

Kind of fun. The variety of weapons helps a lot and the AI is pretty good. Is there any use of the theme. In the description it mentions a skinwalker, but I only ran into the same enemies.

2045 Henkei no Densetsu by Rock Eaters 2016-04-28T23:33:00

This game is great and I love it. All the things that there is nor reason for and is just nonsense- super. I totally dig that and the weird transformation is fun. Why can you shoot three bullets sometime and sometimes only one? I don't know, I don't care. The learning cure works too.

Yet Another Random Game by badia_r 2016-04-30T23:19:00

What you've got is nothing to sneeze at. For me, the main point of the competition is to force you to learn and try new things in a very short amount of time. If this is your first time making a game, you probably did that. Plus you have the beginnings of what could be the best mouse dragon platformer of our generation.

Shape Escape by WeaverDeveloper 2016-04-19T02:36:00

Great, awesome, I wish I had made it. The puzzles were challenging and innovative. The only problem I can think of is it is really hard to get the bar to line up to jump right. The tutorial is helpful.

Scooter Magrew: Escape From Somewhere In Space! by AngerFork 2016-04-28T23:45:00

I played through the whole thing hoping something new and/or interesting would happen, but it didn't. However, you did get me to play through all of what you had, which is worth something. If there had been one more element to gameplay, I would have thought much better if it. The best thing about it is at least something kind of different, which again, is very good.

Ball Blitz by Dante2001 2016-04-30T22:38:00

This is pretty awesome. Angry birds meets Bloons. I have two complaints.
1. It is really difficult to judge the actual strength of a launch from one time to the next. No matter how many times I did it, it always felt like when I succeeded, it was more luck than intuition.
2. The dragging launch feature is hard to use. When I played using my mouse, I could maybe get it to grab once every three tries. Using the touch screen was much better, but I still had a lot of flubbed shots and times when it just would not grab.
Also, no use of the theme??? I guess that is three complaints. The physics engine felt good though and puzzles were easy to understand but a good level of difficulty. I knew how to identify everything I came across right away.

Morflime by AndrewSP 2016-04-19T04:53:00

I guess I need to wait for the bugs to get fixed.

Pyramech by Futilrevenge 2016-05-07T23:54:00

I agree with most that the art very nice and big, blocky graphics will always have a place in my heart. I am impressed with the physics and the use of gravity with the bullets, but in actual use, it is not quite there yet. Bullets are hard to understand you are either going to hit everything or nothing and there are not that many enemies, that is not really the point though I guess. The transformations were cool, but I did not get much time to understand the plane one. I wish the car could have moved faster, other wise what is the point with that? Also, the keyboard controls are cramped and feel uncoordinated. Apart from that, I dig it.

Pluto's Tears by kestrelgames 2016-04-23T02:26:00

This was pretty cool. Really good idea,it gets a bit chopply sometimes when you slingshot. Kind of an evolution of Angry Birds, but so much more fulfilling. I am become Might Pluto Ruler of Worlds.

Prisoner of Elements by EdoCreate 2016-04-19T04:26:00

Not really enough here to hold my attention long enough to figure out what is supposed to happen in a game with already unclear goals.

Do Robots Dream About Yoga? by MementoGames 2016-05-08T03:26:00

Really fun and difficult I was just happy to make it past the peepee. I gave up on Peter Pan. The look and sound was fantastic. My compliments to your composer(s). My favorite thing was how the dolls pile up in a heap. That was some super juice.

Rock scissors paper by spb_Rusty 2016-04-30T23:09:00

After the first game I played the only enemy leaving their spawn points was paper, the others were stuck. Then I tried playing the version embedded on the page and I could not die that time. It is a simple, pretty good idea that demonstrates some good game mechanics, but there is not really much fun about it.

Conviction by JTBurby 2016-05-08T00:24:00

There is not really enough here to keep me interested. Sure it looks good like everyone says, but it is just a still image and the game play is almost non existent. No use of theme does not help either.

Block Dropper by blockdroppers 2016-04-19T05:15:00

Playing on Windows, my game suffered major and frustrating delays. It was almost impossible to keep up with because you had to look so far ahead and try to get the timing right that way. If it worked the way it was supposed I am sure this would be a fun game, but even if it did keep up, I think the starting speed is a little too fast, but that is me.

Robot Santa by madalaski 2017-12-23T01:46:47Z

Took me a good couple of tries and readings of comments to figure out what was going on, but I managed and it ended up being pretty good after that. I gave you an extra half star because I like the sound of the head rocket firing that sounds like a Mario fireball being jettisoned from a lava pit.

Haunted House on 43rd Street by Franklins Ghost 2017-12-23T02:00:49Z

I dig it. The use of sound was pretty good. You did an excellent job of creating atmosphere here. I get that you did not have as much time as you would have liked but I could really see how you had fun with this and that really shows up. If you could have gotten some voice work into the narration, that would have been great. I love the collaboration between young and old. It reminds me of Axe Cop.

GeneNOM - Create Your Own Organism! by stencilchris 2017-12-05T19:49:44Z

I like that you got to learn about the kind of creature you were inadvertently building. That enhanced the experience more than anything and was the most significant advancement over its predecessor. The lack of obstacles and the ability to dump your genetic tail at any moment if it gets in the way make it a little too easy and, as far as I could tell, there was no reason to let it get any longer than a few strands. Pretty fun and interesting for a couple plays.

Like a Boss Rush by dcolgan 2017-12-07T13:01:16Z

We had a plan to tie it in to the theme better, but the way it worked out. The theme did not make it in until the end of the story.

Ingredients of Insanity by zirconcode 2017-12-14T21:43:42Z

This is a really solid compo game! 2 player split screen games are a lost art. Great use of the theme.

Music city by hiki911 2017-12-14T02:22:20Z

I mostly echo the confusion from other commenters. I tried several plays but did not get any further with other different techniques. The mechanics seem pretty tight and three separate songs in a single game is nothing to sneeze at, but it is hard to say mucu more about a game I can not figure out.

Muldulamulom by mase 2017-12-06T04:49:43Z

I want to ask your permission to take your graphics hand in marriage, if I may. I know, I don't look like much. I mean, I don't have a job or a car, but man, I am going to night school. I am going to make something of myself. And I promise I will take such good care of your graphics. I mean they are so... indescribable. (Ahem) I absolutely echo every sentiment everyone has probably already expressed. This was a joy to play. Just to look at all the freaky, fever dream bonanza that is this game, I would not care if I was walking in a straight line getting flipped off by flying monkeys, I would still enjoy every second of it, just based on how it looks. It was also just a bit confusing and frustrating to navigate and saw no connection to the theme.

Slightly annoying traffic by JOrbits 2017-12-14T03:00:34Z

Finally, a game that has made good use of the theme. This is an awesome game and just a fun sensory experience. Additionally, I feel like it teaches us a lesson, a lesson I find myself learning over and over again with every jam I participate in. Simplicity can be the key to making an an incredible game.I could say more of course, but I am sure anything I add at this point has already been said and probably expressed better than I would myself. [Imaginary handshake]

Tomb Robber by ronin748 2017-12-05T17:18:24Z

It is a good looking game to be sure. My problem with the graphics are that it is difficult to tell what is going on sometimes. It is very dark, but there are also dark objects moving and I can not tell what they are or what they are doing. When you are moving along, it seems you are destined to collide with spiders because you will never see them coming. The other enemies you can see fine though. My other critique is that Most enemies are slow and fairly easy to avoid but hit boxes are hard to find making attack timing very difficult and taking damage from enemies inevitable if I am going to engage them. That is a lot of words to say combat is flawed I suppose. I like the use of the the theme and it is a fun looking dungeon looting game, but I think it is lacking in some in originality.

Dimension Leak by muumeroinen 2017-12-05T19:20:59Z

This was super awesome. I don't know where to start. I love the metroidesque and difficult really difficult, but not unfair platforming. Double jumping is always a welcome feature for that. The best thing I have to say about this is how very satisfying attacking is. The ability to take out a whole platform of enemies in a single, well-timed sweep is feels wonderful. I spent so long on the second level, just "One more timing" myself until I eventually completed it. I even the love the style of tutorial you chose, forgoing an explanation on the page in exchange for just making it part of the game so I could learn to do it as I played is brilliant. I can't tell you how much frustration I had on those leaping metroids. I simply could not get the timing right to beat them for a long time. What makes them the hardest enemy I think, is not the jumping part, bu they take two hits. Masterful. I was going to criticize something here, I swear, but after all this gushing, I just can't remember what it was. Probably something about being able to do more with the theme, but I don't care.

Cyberpunk Nerd Move by DiFFtY 2017-12-07T19:00:50Z

Very original idea, something I can certainly relate to and found myself agonizing over decisions for too long. I certainly had no issue ditching the mega drives, but the NES broke my heart every time. It did a good job of really bringing out emotions like that.

Chubby by M-1 2017-12-23T02:58:59Z

I had a good time with this. Impressive physics engine. Flopping around as a cube is pretty fun. Gets hard fast.

SquidBoy & StarFace by willowblade 2017-12-06T04:28:08Z

Well, it was hard all right. No denying that. The premise of controlling two ship on your own is pretty interesting. That I actually like a lot, but doing it on my own was just too much. I did impress myself with just how coordinated I was able to be. When I read the description, I thought there would be no way, but I held my own for a little while. I think it would be better on a controller. The play felt okay apart from that. Not bad.

El Centro Comercial with Sweatheart by davda 2017-12-05T16:17:28Z

It took me a while to figure it out because there was a lot to take in and I did not read the instructions carefully, but I thought it worked pretty well. It is definitely difficult, but I think that is the point. After I learned I could drop boxes at the truck, I was able to do much better. The controls are a bit unwieldy, perhaps due to over-sensitivity. I think if you toned them down a bit and gave it a bit of polish you would have an excellent entry. It is good as it is though. Thumbs up on the audio in particular.

The Pickups by Chorlo 2017-12-05T18:32:04Z

Sprite work is good. Game play left me wanting. Not terribly deep but the programming is solid. I like the level design and use of obstacles. The instructions given left me unclear on how to deliver the bottles, but I did eventually figure it out.

Save Your Gold by Xsior 2017-12-14T02:09:43Z

The music for this game is pretty I good. I did not get bored or annoyed with it. It is also pretty impressive how many levels you put together. That is really something. The platforming and movement as a whole felt solid. My problem was with the attack, firstly being that did not even understand it was an attack at first and then it took me a long time to even understand how to successfully launch one. I can appreciate a hard game, but for my money, that does not seem like a good good place to make a game difficult. It did feel pretty original though and for that it stands out.

Stack Stuff by egawag 2017-12-05T02:43:15Z

This is my first game to play this time around and it was a good one. I am very pleased this game is easy to pick up, difficult to master. I love the sense of humor. The way you can think you are doing well, getting tennis rackets, bowls of salad, maybe the odd lamp and suddenly a sofa materializes. This is the perfect example of the ideal LD game.

Hotel Nero by Nightfall 2017-12-05T03:05:40Z

Great looking game, good atmosphere. The sound track really compliments the spread of the fire giving a real sense of urgency. The whole thing does feel rather frenzied.I appreciated the innovation, but I would not really call this a fun game. That probably speaks more to my tastes more than the quality itself. The whole strategic collection thing does not do it for me, but I can see exactly where you are going with how a person might spend a lot of time developing a strategic plan and that deserves high marks. You can really tell that a lot of work went into this.

Beehaven by yupasama 2017-12-14T02:38:19Z

I liked the gag, but I am too proud to ask for help to learn to get to the third level.

Just Another Day by DraperDanMan 2017-12-05T04:19:46Z

This a great idea, but I think something got goofed up for me. I kept getting the same call from different people asking about the call center survey over and over there was nothing else and eventually I gave up. Again, though I love the premise and think this kind of thing is great, really innovative. I just really wish I could have gotten different calls because everything was really funny. Perhaps what this game does best is atmosphere. There are so many extra touches here to really put it over. The messages from your boss, the posters. It all manages to fill me with an astonishing level of anxiety and it is just a game.

Slimelands by Wagner 2017-12-05T18:44:27Z

First of I would give an explanation that the mouse is used to attack. Islands are great and floating islands are maybe even better so I love the setting. The graphics are nice and movement feels clean, but attacking is a bit off.

Corridor by aa4z 2017-12-23T02:19:00Z

I had a good time. It kept me playing to see how good of a gun I could get and it was really impressive all the enemies you managed to come up with. I like the ones that turn into bombs. It's probably too easy to get held up in one spot when they all gang up on you farther down the line, but maybe you could work that into being part of the game too where there are more techniques to escape.

BANANA BOI EVADING YA TRASH by Kubi Entz 2017-12-05T04:06:08Z

It is okay for what it is. Good use of theme.

Enjoy the Flowers by Ethos 2017-12-06T03:56:10Z

I could have done with a bit more explanation here. Even so, it was fun to drive a bee tank over a bunch of flowers for a little while.I don't know if there is a goal here or not, hit all the flowers and don't fall over, I guess? That works but I see little to no use of the theme.

Squares & Hexes by Tom Robson 2017-12-05T19:34:23Z

This was great. I wish humor was a category for you. I would have given much star points as, by the third or fourth level, I was dying faster than I could think and could do little about it because I was so euphoric. CRASH CRASH CRASH, in the space of an instant I have lost three lives and I do not care because when I finally make it over the first obstacle there is another hidden off screen. Downright cheeky. Even funnier, upon respawning, you maintain the trajectory at the time of your last death. So when I try jump again after I die, I am still in the air and jump late only to die again. This all results in a greater death factor in the area of about 6. You could have done better with the theme, but so what.

Island Businessman by Andro 2017-12-23T02:52:23Z

The above explanations were indeed enormously helpful. As with all clicker games, I spent much more time playing this one than I expected to. Music helped the atmosphere.

Weeb Runner by Natsu 2017-12-05T03:18:47Z

This one did not really do it for me. I tried a couple of times and my problem with it is the speed. Things just go too fast for it to be fun. I could not even hit jump fast enough much of the time to reach some of the easier platforms. This is not helped by the fact that you may also need to measure your jump height. As a runner,I think it functions well enough and the power downs do work well to fit with the theme and I think would make it fun and challenging if the rest of it was paced better.

Sir, the China! by Cpttritium 2017-12-06T04:12:00Z

You got me to play it twice. Is there a reason movement feels so stuttered at times? Am I supposed to be able to move no matter how high it gets? Nice use of theme. Good work.

Fisherman's Estafette by Hit A Crab Studios 2017-12-05T16:59:33Z

I am a sucker for anything maritime related. The whole scenery is wonderful. I love the way the pitch of the sun changes throughout the day and casts different reflections off the rocks. That a lone would have made this worth. In fact, I think I would have rather played a game where you can just explore a vast marine world like that just for sights. This really was a gorgeous game in that regard. The rest of it was oookay. I am not clear what the rope gauge in the top left represents, my health somehow I guess, but why does it drop? It just seemed to drop when there were no sharks around. The fishing part worked well enough but I am sure you realize could use some fine tuning. Even though I recognized the frivolity of it all, I still got caught up in the game of trying to get as much fish as possible for the big pay even risking dangerous waters.
