The controls were far to fast for my taste

Interesting take on snake, thematically at least. I would have loved to see more of the lore make it into the game itself; Maybe even see the monstrosities, not that there's time for that in a jam.

I like it! The game started to get pretty difficult after awhile, but that's not a bad thing! I enjoyed the Snake variation - it has a surprising amount of depth. I did notice that the music doesn't loop, and I wanted to keep listening to futuristic space laser sounds while eating DNA.

Nice job!

I had the game crash on me twice, but I wasn't able to figure out the pattern. I agree with Galan, that more theme matching the story would have been good. Maybe something other than pac-man, more DNA related?

stencilchris 2017-12-05 04:41

@rargrave If you ever do figure out the pattern that causes it to crash, please inform me here. More than willing to fix it!

Nice graphics and sound. Game was challenging and kept me entertained.

I liked the game. Especially the score screen and setting. Made me laugh! The starting speed was a bit fast. I would hav liked it to be slower in the start.

Interesting take on snake!

I rather liked the educational element to it, particularly once I started ranking above amoeba. There might be some ribbing in the futuristic classroom based on what students end up becoming.

I like that you got to learn about the kind of creature you were inadvertently building. That enhanced the experience more than anything and was the most significant advancement over its predecessor. The lack of obstacles and the ability to dump your genetic tail at any moment if it gets in the way make it a little too easy and, as far as I could tell, there was no reason to let it get any longer than a few strands. Pretty fun and interesting for a couple plays.

Pretty cool take on a snake game! One bug I found was one of the nucleotides on the board got glitched and I would just pass through it every time I tried to collect it.

moski 2017-12-05 22:21

I made it to mammal! Love me some fuzzy tail.

Nice spin on the good ol' snake game. I mean, at this point, you'd think the world had seen all of its variations, so it's great to see just one more pop into existence.

Other than the extra flair and things to eat, well, it's still snake. As good as snake gets, I guess. It's a good spin, but it's still core snake.

Well, one way or another, I had my share of fun with it. Kudos, and my team will try (and very likely succeed) to become a better mammal than what I turned out to be. Keep up the good work! :whale:

Interesting take on the theme. The movement speed is a bit too fast.I think that killing the player when you go past the boundary is a but harsh. Maybe include a timer for collecting genes. You need to collect a certain amount of genes within the time period or you lose health- something like that would probably be better. Good job nonetheless.

I really like the concept of being able to create your own creature through a mini-game, and I liked reading what horribly mismatched monster I made. I was really hoping forward to some kind of visualization of the end result, though.
