This is pretty fun. I really like the use of the theme, the more presents the kids got the badder they became. I would say it's pretty hard though as you don't get too much chance to react to a present falling. If the field of view was a little bigger I might have more of an impact. Probably just my old fingers though ;) Another thing I might add is a timer or something to end the game in failure if you don't destroy enough quickly etc. Just some thoughts. Great game! See you next LD :)

took me like 4 page reloads to get how the controls work.. robot just drops down without warning and then good like figuring out the controls with just red arrow pointing down.. needs some grace period where you can control robot with zero gravity for a while.. very nice music and art..

christmas theme jammers UNITE! that up button is touchy, but after i figured that out i was smashing gifts left and right - thank u for this holiday jam
I like the arc that the robot has when you fly diagonally and let go. I think it would feel good to have a little more of that inertia to be maintained when changing directions instead of the direction instantly snapping to directly upward.

After I realized that I could hold shift and fly offscreen with no consequences I found this game fun. I ended with over 1000 points. I think that boost should be the default and you could allow people to hold shift when they want to be precise.
If you play more games, more people will play your game. However if you're too busy to play games you could try making a post on the home page or in the discord.
I liked it! I would of preferred some visual cue on where the presents were going to fall, but overall a great effort!

Pretty fun to control, and fly around, though catching presents is at times a bit too tight. If it had different drop patterns and some sort of failure state, it would definitely be something I'd be giving quite a few attempts to get good at. Also, the graphics are nice and the plot is great :D
The game was fun to play, and as said above fun to control. However, I have had a big issue : not knowing what to do at first, I have let the robot fall down the screen, and spent 3 minutes hiting the key trying to move, with no apparent result (the robot probably was way too low, and whatever I was doing the arrow was pointing down). It took me 3 restart to understand that my character had fallen.

A little main menu with some explanation would be nice. I had the same problem as @vfabien21. Maybe something should happen when you g oout of bounds. Controls are nice, graphics are good and there is audio!

The flight controls feel really good! I wish the arena were a little taller or the presents a little slower so that there was more time to react, but I could just be slow :) Bonus points for robots!

Good game, I like the presentation and idea. The controls are smooth. But what definitely should be fixed is going out of bounds and the way the gifts drop - either they should drop closer to each other (to give the player a chance to get to them) or making them slower.
Really cool game and nice controls. The music made it sooooo much better
Really cool game. I liked the graphics stype. Good job!:D
I enjoyed this game a lot! Well done and good entry! Only thing I would say is that it was a bit confusing at first. But once I got it, I was good!

Hi! First, good job. After I figured I must play immediately, otherwise I never get him up from down the screen, it became fun :) I like the movement. I like the sounds and music and even the minimalistic gfx is ok. But the connection to the theme... is not there?
Pretty tight gameplay, but overally satisfying, though there isn't a lot of variation. I liked the music the most. Since not much happened with the gifts (having a lot of them wouldn't impact gameplay), I don't think the theme is followed well, though it is mentioned in the side-story. Overall good, but I feel like your game lacks a few important elements.
tight gameplay! I kind of wish there was some kind of end-state. I didn't see the theme in the gameplay, but whatever. Still cool.
In my opinion, this game would be much more fun if there was a Game Over screen or something similar to that. Perhaps, if you were to fail to collect a number of presents, similar to failing to slice 3 fruits in Fruit Ninja, the player would then lose. In this way, even the use of the theme could be more spectacular. The lack of a Game Over screen made the score mechanic unnecessary. Also, you probably should add a high score mechanic if you were to do a Game Over screen. Next, the speed of the present drops should decrease so it is easier to collect the presents. I would also suggest to consider constraining the player to remain on the screen. At the beginning of the game, my player immediately fell down. I actually didn't see my player when I first started so I was wondering where my player was and what the arrow on the screen meant. Only when I reloaded my page after two times, I saw the player and realized that the arrow meant that the player was down. Unfortunately, the gameplay of the game isn't exactly innovative as I have seen many games with gameplay very similar to this.
The aesthetic of the graphics was alright but nothing too fancy. I enjoyed the music though as it sounded nice and pleasant and it wasn't very repetitive like many other Ludum Dare games. Finally, I thought the game was kind of funny because the story behind it was a little bit humorous in that kids are becoming spoiled with Christmas gifts.

Took me a good couple of tries and readings of comments to figure out what was going on, but I managed and it ended up being pretty good after that. I gave you an extra half star because I like the sound of the head rocket firing that sounds like a Mario fireball being jettisoned from a lava pit.

I couldn't really figure out how to keep the robot from disappearing. I recommend adding a help screen.
This was pretty fun! Definitely could benefit from some boundaries, rather than letting the player move out of bounds, especially since they drop right at the beginning.

I like the music, but it took a while to get used to the controlls.
It was pretty fun. I got a little confused when the character was under the screen but I soon realised what went wrong. I loved the theme you had come up with, definitely fits the Ludum dare's theme.
i was a WAS A ROBOT that SAVED CHRISTMAS!!! ah HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! i just kept wanting more moar MAOHRRRrrr
(How could this game get sooo many comments and only 3 ratings?)
Nice game, quite addictive – I kept destroying presents for no reason. :D The background music is awesome, and I also like the graphics. I also think the background story is funny. :D However, there is no defined goal and no lose condition. (The former is not that important – without it, it could be a survival game.)

Nice game! I liked that the presents fell (roughly) along with the music. I would have preferred a menu or something to explain what was going on though.
Hello @everyone! Thank you so much for your ratings, I really have no idea how this came about but it means so much. I have been so busy over the holiday period with personal stuff that I've barely been able to do anything and I figured there was no real point in my little minigame (that you can't even lose) getting the 20 votes. As soon as I am able, I'm gonna update this game with all the features suggested in the comments and am going to personally play everyone's games. Merry Christmas!
