Cool idea. Made it to the big blue planet before I got stuck.
Also, felt like I was learning math (sin/cos) while playing ;) Nice work
Looks great and has lots of potential! I liked the mini-darth-vader thing. Controls were smooth and graphical style was nice in a retro way.
Cool game. The platforming controls were great (things like scaling walls and double jumps worked well).
I like how you also incorporated the theme in different ways for each level. Nice work!
Reminds me of some good 4X space games. Nice work!
Funny idea and graphics and animations were well done. Seems the game ends after you get one. Would be a bit more interesting to return to the ship and go again. Nice work!
Cool game. Got the purple genie thing twice (upstairs and downstairs). Not sure if that means I won or if I missed something.
Very good graphics and audio.
Love the low-poly style and rail moving. Nice work!
Fun game. I liked the graphics and animations.
The ninja seems to miss enemies while lunging sometimes though (or I'm timing the lunges incorrectly).
Nice work. The animations and sound effects were hilarious.
Thanks for all the feedback! Was my first entry to Ludum so I kept my plans simple so I could finish.
Boomerang is definitely a bit tricky. I wanted a fully elliptical path but that didn't work so well so I made it to where the boomerang first goes to where you click then does the full 180 degree semicircle before returning.
@Tonasz: levels are all randomized/generated. And yes I think on the return path, the boomerang can sometimes glitch through trees (collider fail due to the movement/rotation speed I think).
Cool concept and nice implementation. The help pages were also nicely done.
Possible improvement: Bounding boxes around the arrows to hit so we can know the timing, I got a lot of misses because I wasn't sure what the bounding box or the hitzone was (even though it appeared close to or on the line).
Cool boomerang game :) I like the 2d black-and-white style graphics.
Worked fine for me (he's using 7-zip instead of Zip).
Game is definitely a bit too hard. Also, I had to mash keys to figure out what the controls were (even on the startup screen). Graphics and animations looked good though and the game has potential.
I like the concept and has lots of potential. Good job getting all that done in 48 hours!
Has lots of potential and a great start. Reminded me of Portal (in a good way). Also the bright red buttons made it pretty clear to me what to do next. ;)
Possible improvements would be things others mentioned like sound effects (although not sure why others are getting confused by the water area -- I saw the red button across the way and hit it with the boomerang with no problem (although aim was slightly off)). Also would be better if the boomerang returned completely to your hand instead of landing in front of you then having to pick it up off the ground with another click. Nice work!
Excellent graphics and audio. Controls were pretty bad (or I was doing something wrong) -- it seems you can't even shoot left?
Great 'game'. One of the most interesting ones I've seen this Ludum.
Nice work! The chains hanging from the heli and the physics were done well.
Nice work! Love the graphics and the animations
Amazing graphics and graphical style. Movement and such were also good. As others mentioned, some GUI/directions would be good as it isn't really obvious what I should be doing. Nice work!
Very well made and fun to play. Impressive that its all HTML too.
Only complaint would be that the workers seem a bit lazy and air raids become too frequent (also perhaps a siren before air raid hits?).
Good job
Great graphics and intro. Also like the idea of the game.
The difficulty is frustrating -- the character moves fast and the enemies move quickly and cover large parts of the screen so its hard not to run into them with some momentum. Difficulty curve needs adjusting.
Very nice graphics and art/models. It's not very clear what the objective is however.
Enjoyed watching your stream as you developed it.
Nice, a little too easy roll though and a bit to hard to correct orientation while in the air
Very cool concept. Gameplay was surprisingly smooth considering the limited amount of pixels. Nice work
Very good game, narration was great.
As runvs mentioned, there does seem to be some glitches with collision when walking around in the robot.
Also, the sound effects are too loud compared to the narration volume. If I turn my system volume to be able to hear the narration then I get blasted with some loud high-pitched sound effect from jumping or such.
Very well made. Nice music and the in-game tutorial was excellent. Also really liked the combo moves (sliding + jumping in one, etc).
AMAZING. I rarely use caps but the whole see-like-an-ant, be-like-an-ant was extremely convincing graphically.
Great work on the models/grass/terrain. I really hope you make this into a more of a game (like some simple objectives for the player to do).
Nicely done. The "share the ending" with a URL was a cool touch.
The drilling and finding of items worked well and the graphics were excellent. Has potential to be a full game.
Very asteroids-y. I didn't quite understand what the goal was though (something about experiments) so just shot everything.
There is no winning condition. It just gives you a score at the end based on how many kills you were able to get.
Very flappy-bird-esque but fun.
A bit challenging since you can't see where the opening is for the barriers till you're about to run into it. I like being able to back up/reverse direction to correct though.
Interesting controls and gameplay. It became a little too easy to survive and a little boring I got better at catching fish however. Also there seems to be an end to the ocean and it seems to be a box ;)
Liked the low poly look. Beautiful water and I like the realistic physics. Would like to see this game expanded.
Doesn't work in Firefox (tested in Chrome and it works there).
In Firefox - it finishes loading but the "Begin" button is not clickable.
Very good start. I like the concept. The endings/attacks are very sudden. Would be nice to get some kind of warning/siren when enemies approach.
Cute game and a good start. The green enemies approach and kill too quickly.
Hilarious game. I loved the walking/running animations. Nice work
I liked the background music, fit the mood well.
The graphics were a bit too dark though. Also gun shot sounds were a bit high pitched and monotonous.
Fun but not liking how it resets all the way back to beginning when cops get you. Checkpoints would be nice.
Very cool. Love the behind the scenes/timelapse videos
Nice, like Matt says, relaxing. Definitely should consider continuing this project post-Ludum.
Very well done and surprisingly complete for a Ludum game. I don't really have any complaints except maybe make the intro text skippable.
Graphics and animations were very good and the concept is interesting. There doesn't seem to be enough boxes however and the gun is a bit too powerful (unlimited ammo, infinite range). Very good start, with some gameplay changes it could be even better.
Cute game and nice work on the audio
Very well done. Graphics look great, animations are nice (I like the item drop in effect in the beginning of each level) and the puzzles are fun.
Looks interesting but the beginning is extremely difficult and punches seem to miss a lot.
Cool game. Being able to upgrade workers would be nice as well
Nice simple, funny game. When I reached the end though, the steps left went negative and the attack options became jumbled. Good job on the animations.
Cute game. Controls a bit strange with the middle-click/right-click stuff but well done.
A bit short but well done, I like the "Morpheus" character.
Very well made especially considering it's in HTML. Gameplay was smooth and surprisingly interesting (maybe it appeals to the OCD side). I encountered the '1 left' bug but that should be an easy fix. Also I think controls would be better with mouse instead of keyboard as I found the character jerking around with the light touches of cursor keys.
Saw you stream this a bit, nice work! Graphics are great
A bit difficult for me given the short supply of water but nicely done.
I like how you fade out buildings that block the camera.
Nevermind, managed to save everyone! Well done.
Well done. It's like a mini Starcraft -- marines vs zerglings ;)
The extractors seem to go down a bit too easily and force you to restart since theres no other way to get money it seems (perhaps give a little bit when units get kills or a small amount every X seconds regardless of whether there are extractors or not).
Nice work
Fun game and I like the graphics / animations.
Suggestions:
1) Not very obvious when stomach is empty/full; maybe make that more prominent by showing a larger/different dolphin when its 'full'?
2) Spacing out the garbage a bit more -- the garbage falls on top of each other sometimes to where you take 2 hits rapidly.
3) Hitboxes could be a bit more accurate. Either the dolphin or the garbage's hitboxes seems too large and collides where it clearly shouldn't.
Otherwise great work
Cute game, main character reminded me of the Beavis and Butthead show. :)
Controls were smooth but not sure the attack did anything.
Very cool concept and the graphics look good.
The implementation of creating your character was a bit frustrating though. An 'undo' last attachment would be good. Also, getting the right part with the "Flush" option seemed a bit like the lottery and I would have preferred a scrollable list instead.
Well done. Graphics look great and the grappling mechanic works well. It's a bit hard to aim since the spin seems to be a bit too fast but otherwise a fun game.
Cute game, I like the low-poly graphics and shading on the terrain and enemy models.
Suggestions:
1) Range seemed a bit short on the weapon (not sure how the shotgun is unconventional though :) )
2) Not very clear when you were taking damage. Maybe flash the screen a certain color or some kind of arrow pointing to where the damage is coming from
Fun little game and the graphics and animation look great.
I found it a bit challenging at first due to the fly/fire speed but enjoyed it.
Very interesting/funny take on the theme. I like how you did the 'step off'.
With a higher drop height and improved falling effects, it would be a lot of fun.
I like the simple, toon-shaded graphics style and the concept is nice. Camera was a bit strange but otherwise a cool game.
Interesting idea and I like the split screen design for the game window/UI.
Suggestion: A bit difficult to figure out, even a little bit of text at the beginning of the game would help.
I like the art style and the link/unlink is nicely done. The game is a bit difficult to figure out and a bit of intro text would help.
Fun puzzle game and cute graphics. The movement was well done.
It felt like there was only 1 way to finish some of the levels, it'd be interesting to have levels that allow more experimentation. Also some special items like a tile that teleports would add to the fun.
Cool platformer, I like the art style and the dialogue.
I found the movement a bit challenging though. The player seemed to slide around a bit too much (like I'd release movement keys and he'd continue sliding). Also the jumps were a bit unforgiving since the jumps had to be made way before you reached the edge of a platform to be successful. If you wait to jump till you reach near the edge, then he usually just slides off into spikes.
Other than that, fun little game though. Nice work
Interesting mechanic and it works surprisingly well. The physics also made this more fun.
I did get tired of spinning the wheel so much however and a backup control system with keyboard (left/right keys) would have been nice.
Nice work!
The robot's movements and destruction effects are done very well. It was very satisfying to move around the town firing the laser at everything.
My one suggestion would be to make the enemies a bit more visible or maybe having arrows at the edges of the screen pointing to where they're coming from.
Nice work!
Really fun game with great artwork.
The intro with the speech bubbles is a nice touch but I wish it were skippable. The game has a few bugs which cause the whole thing to hang and results in having to watch the intro repeatedly.
The trail renderer on the ball adds a nice touch. The physics were nicely done but sometimes the ball bounces up and down perfectly vertically resulting in an infinitely bouncing ball. Would be good to 'nudge' the ball slightly in those cases to prevent it from doing the perfect up/down bounce.
Nice work.
Fun game but very challenging. The animations and controls were well done.
I found the recharge system made it a bit difficult as it left you vulnerable and took too long compared to the speed and number of enemies coming at you. The game mechanic of not being able to see anything was clever though. Nice work!
Very fun and great interpretation of the theme.
I ran into a few bugs with it getting stuck but thats to be expected in an LD. Great work on this.
Great art and animation. Also the setting and interpretation of the theme is clever.
Suggestions: Add some kind of icon for each button instead of having us read letters. For example, an arrow pointing up for W or down for S would give a more visual feedback for what to hit. It'd also be great with some levels instead of going infinitely (ie: you move from 1 party to another party with each one getting harder).
Nice work!
Really fun and the upgrades and animations are nicely done. Nice work!
Great concept and well implemented.
The way "Dave" moves is especially clever with how he semi-realistically avoids the spike or moves back to the beginning. You should develop this further post-LD as it has a lot of potential.
The art style is great on this one and its impressive that you did this with native HTML5 instead of using a game framework or Unity.
Also the comments from the little people when they get eaten add a lot of humor and personality. Nice work.
(And yes I'm the person of the same name that popped into your stream a couple times)
Graphics, controls and gameplay were all well done.
Also loved your post-mortem writeup. Keep it up!
Can't rate it since I haven't submitted yet but I LOVE this game. (played to the end).
Love the dialog and the little dance before each mini-game starts. Nice work!
Love it, nice music, graphics and soothing game.
Fun game! Unexpectedly difficult but I managed to get through a handful of levels. Nice work
Really well done anissen! Love the effects/animations/concept.
Cool mechanics, really nice animations. Good job!
