LD28 — You Only Get One

Kmembert by Benoît Freslon 2013-12-16T19:19:00

Great game; both concept, style and execution. Only minor critique: Game runs quite slowly, level 6 is hard :P

Aegis by Romaing 2013-12-16T19:09:00

Awesome art and great polish! Too slow-paced for my taste, however.

El Tigre Il Assassino by popogames 2013-12-16T20:01:00

Fantastic game! Very polished game with a great style. Only down-side: I could not for the life of me solve the level with the hostage! :P

You Will Fail by anissen 2013-12-16T12:02:00

Thanks for the all the comments :) Oh, and sorry about the headache(s)!

Xeke_Death: Yeah, not too happy about pausing the game either. Unfortunately the TTS eats so much CPU when processing that a few frame updates are missed, making the physics fail and causes all entities to drop through the platforms :/

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Safety Blanket by SimonLarsen 2014-05-01T19:03:00

Really polished (and creepy) game! I kept losing before the tentacles reached me though that might be on purpose... Anyway, great execution and take on the theme :)

The Valley Rule by Raiyumi 2014-05-01T19:14:00

Really fantastic game! Graphics, audio, theme and all. A bit too difficult (especially jumping) for my taste though

A Glorious Escape for A Lich King by Benjamin 2014-05-01T19:29:00

Awesome game! It has some really great concept and polish. Not far from being a "real" game :)

Beneath the Cave by feiss 2014-04-28T08:37:00

Nice little "game" (more like animated novel). I really like visual mood and the ending ;)

Deepeon by HacksawUnit 2014-05-01T19:16:00

That was spooky! Great effects with minimal graphics.

The Pond by SunShiranui 2014-05-01T19:21:00

Great little game. Very tranquil :)

Anthill by gre 2014-05-01T18:55:00

Has a bit of a Dungeon Keeper vibe to it. Nice :)

Infinite Dig Dug by jotson 2014-04-28T14:11:00

Really neat little game. I especially like the magma flowing.
Reminds me of Supaplex.

From the Under by damrem 2014-05-04T15:29:00

Great game, very addictive! I loved the theme + graphics :)

Beneath a red sky by allinlabs 2014-05-01T20:30:00

Really awesome game! I loved the feel of shooting and impact. I almost cleared out the entire base but ended up running out of ammo and getting butchered. Running low on ammo is quite spooky when surrounded by aliens ;)
It would be nice if the aliens were more intelligent or that the different aliens had different behaviours.
A absolutely love that aliens can catch on fire - nice detail! :D

Beneath the City by deepnight 2014-05-01T21:09:00

Really nice game - great graphics and atmosphere. It is very polished and impressive for 48 hours. The Thief-mechanic works well but it gets devilish hard on the lower levels.

Dungeon Break by anissen 2014-05-01T20:18:00

Thank you all very much for taking the time to play and to comment on the game! Also a big thank you for your kind words and constructive suggestions :)

@Pete_H: I need to explain how to play the game more thoroughly I know! It is not as intuitive as it ought to be.

@liamtwose: As to the level progression - you are right! I actually mixed up some of the levels so the level difficulty is messed up unfortunately :/

@SFBTom: I actually implemented visual feedback for dragging rows/columns but had to remove it because I didn't have time to work out the kinks.

@tenpn: Noted! I was also thinking of adding a level selection screen as well.

@allinlabs: Yes, winning the game is kind of dull ;) The puzzles were made rather quickly and could have used some thorough play testing.

This game was made with mobile targets in mind and I will be making a more polished version for Android. I will be sure to address your critique in that version :)

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

The Infestation by Tiago Ling Alexandre 2014-12-14T18:55:00

Pretty cool game! I like the idea and how it seems balanced, that is no wave is impossible (although they get harder) and yet the pressure is constant. Some ideas for improvements/future work:
* More frequent power-ups.
* Movable area circular instead of square + faster movement.
* Indication of where the next wave will appear.
* Creep variation.
Good job!

2048 Souls by Rosencatz 2014-12-10T20:51:00

Totally awesome mechanic! :) Got stuck in dead monsters a few times, other than that a cool game.

Gone Pondin' by xhunterko 2014-12-10T21:04:00

Good idea but I found the fish very hard to catch. Also there didn't seem to be any way to win/lose the game - or maybe I just didn't find it. Nice graphics and I liked that the hook could be caught in stuff floating in the water

90 Second Portraits by SimonLarsen 2014-12-12T21:18:00

Your game is, as always, very innovative and extremely polished! Although I absolutely sucked at drawing it's a really fun game. A bit stressful as well. Great work!

Microphyla by 7Soul 2014-12-12T20:33:00

Super impressed with the amount to content and polish in this game. I haven't played Metroidvania so I had some trouble figuring out what I was supposed to do. Well done!

Train of Thought by anissen 2014-12-08T15:46:00

@JamesOfJames: Thanks for your feedback. The issues that you mention should be fixed now. They was caused by a problem on the *webpage* that the game is embedded in, do'h!

Cat-ana by Valandre 2014-12-20T17:07:00

Really awesome game! Especially the graphics and audio aspects are brilliant. The controls feel a bit clunky.

Man on the Field by Double Zero One Zero 2014-12-10T21:32:00

Really awesome game! I especially love the setting and feel of the game. The graphics and audio are excellent. I didn't find the core mechanic that appealing - maybe because there is so much going on that it is difficult to focus on positioning the mouse and pressing the correct keys.

Anyway, good game and a great presentation and execution. Well done!

Blipt in the Dark by PurpleApes 2014-12-10T21:08:00

Very nice graphics but I had trouble playing the game. I ended up dying because I got stuck in a door :P

Culture Screen by gltovar 2014-12-10T20:29:00

Very neat little game! I liked the mechanic and interaction being very simple but like Tiago I had a hard time finding out if I was doing the right thing. Good/bad behavior should probably be more clearly indicated. Loved the graphics!

Jumping n' Jumping by Eduardo 2014-12-10T20:40:00

Cool platformer! The mechanic took a little experimentation to catch on to but I like it - simple, yet innovative. Most of my deaths felt "unfair", I died before seeing what killed me - usually around 12-14 points...

Tight Angle by lase 2014-12-10T20:47:00

Fun mechanic, but it gets very hard very fast! The graphics could use some polish.

GraviFlip by oh_andrej 2014-12-10T20:56:00

I absolutely love the retro Game Boy style! The mechanic is fun but I kept getting killed by the enemies that is also affected by gravity :/

Ram Dungeon by 01101101 2014-12-11T07:47:00

Very interesting game! It reminds me of Ernesto (http://ernesto-rpg.tumblr.com/) -- and that's a good thing ;)

I would have liked to get more "effect" out of the choices I made. Other than that a great idea and an elegant mechanic. Well done!

Kiwi by fierysquirrel 2014-12-11T07:25:00

Very nice game! I like the sweet theme with the Kiwi and being able to run along the walls. I found it quite difficult though - there's a lot going on at all times and the bullets require precise timing to jump. Also good audio side, although I felt that the chiptunes didn't match the theme very well. Good job!

Robots vs Stuff by Martins 2014-12-12T20:46:00

Great idea! Connecting the colors is addictive and the sounds add a nice indication of the amount of colors connected. I found it hard to use any tactics and simply connected as many chains of colors as possible - it seemed to work :)
Good job!

LiliLight by Carduus 2014-12-12T21:54:00

Really awesome game! Excellent graphics and mood and a very nice handling of the ray cast lighty things :) Very well done!

Memories of Seasons by ncannasse 2014-12-20T17:37:00

Fantastic mood and great to see a game daring to bring up some unusual (and serious) topics.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Orange Squares...Beware! by Benn 2015-08-24T18:41:00

Really awesome mechanic! I also like the game aesthetics and audio side. The game is *devilishly* hard though! :P

sector.33 by ziege 2015-08-24T18:13:00

Really nice game! I like the simplicity of the gameplay and art-style along with very effective mechanics and sounds. Reminds me of a cross between Aliens and Hotline Miami :)

Delicious Cortex by deepnight 2015-08-24T19:08:00

Quit outshining everybody with your inhuman talents! The game is absolutely awesome as always.

Hugzilla by jovoc 2015-08-24T18:48:00

Absolutely hilarious game! I love the graphics and colors, so cute! It's really fun to hug the life out of everything; houses, trees, nuclear powerplants :) It would be nice to have some sort of goal though.
Also; you might want to add a loading screen - I had a very long loading time.

Mr. Yeti's Fast Food by Balzaque 2015-08-25T14:20:00

Really fun idea! Great graphics and execution :)

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Streamline by francoisvn 2015-12-14T20:55:00

Take a good old, well-known mechanic. Sprinkle some new ideas. Then add two or three large buckets of polish. Wow, the finish and effortless-ness of the execution really brings this game out. Excellent work :)

Heinsenberg by ncannasse 2015-12-14T21:41:00

Wow, really packs a whole lot of (creepy) atmosphere and story into a seemingly simple interface. Very good job!

UPSQUID by 01010111 2015-12-21T21:10:00

Absolutely awesome execution. So well done! :)

Puff Enuff? by bitslap 2015-12-14T20:49:00

Oh, I really want to play! It looks both beautiful and awesome. Looking forward to Mac support! :)

Stitch Wars by wilbefast 2015-12-14T21:09:00

Very cool take on the theme! And it's good to see some tactical LD games, good job. I love the setting and idea, but found the game pretty hard to play without simply taking naïve actions. Could use some sound effects.

Wargrow by Mixer 2015-12-14T20:38:00

Nice game. I really like the sound and graphics :)

Multitasking Madness by Benn 2015-12-14T21:18:00

Really awesome idea! I played this game for waay too long :P I could keep the other games alive using the yellow game long after the green game was insta-killed. Too bad there's no score. Could also use some sound effects.
But other than that, great game. Reminds me a bit of WarioWare Inc. crossed with Typing of the Dead ;)

Plant Designer by RafaelOliveira 2015-12-14T20:47:00

Really cool idea! I had some trouble understanding the mechanic at first - got to 6 m. on my first try. On my second try I got to 100 m. with 50 sec. to go before I gave up.
Some things that would be awesome to have: Sounds! Difficulty progression. The two pieces placed at the center of the screen (all the time is spent looking at the bottom :P)

Radical Revolver Recoil Rampage by AndreasL 2015-12-17T10:28:00

Fantastic game! I absolutely love the mechanic! It's an awesome application of the theme and really well executed in addictive non-stop action. Great job!

Reap by managore 2015-12-14T20:48:00

Oh, I really want to play! It looks both beautiful and awesome. Sadly no support for Mac's :/

Hungry Spider by Darek Greenly 2015-12-14T21:01:00

Ha-ha, what a twist! I *really* like the way you've used the same mechanic to both work as an collect/avoid-type gameplay, while having the watch the size of the spider. It gets really fast later in the game. I exploded after scoring 310 points :)
It would be really nice with some sound-effects.

Magnetoids by dj_pale 2015-12-14T21:22:00

Really nice take on the theme. I had some trouble understanding how the mechanic worked, so I was mostly playing asteroids :P It has a really awesome retro-feel. Good job!

LD35 — Shapeshift

ShiftSnap by Mixer 2016-04-19T18:08:00

Very nice puzzle game! It gets very tricky, very fast. I really like the concept and it's a very nice elegant execution with the layout and shuffling of the boards. Good job!

Soko Match by francoisvn 2016-04-18T19:25:00

Really elegant art style. Very nice mechanic - very Threes!-like :)

The Tale of Lapkovius by ziege 2016-04-18T19:34:00

Fantastic game! Devilish hard, but a really cool concept once you get the hang of it. Very nice execution and polish :)

OUROBOROS by undefinist 2016-04-19T18:03:00

Really nice concept but so so hard! Devilishly hard. I must've played that racetrack-shaped level 40 times before finally giving up. The difficulty curve should be much less steep. I really live the effect that the rotating camera gives. Good job! :)

Slime Tech by foolmoron 2016-04-19T17:52:00

Really cool concept and execution! Very nice concept but it needs to be played on Itch to work. I like the physics and colors of the slime :)
I had some trouble understanding what to do (that the attractors were not the slime). Couldn't get past level 5 - I *almost* had it many times, but not quite.

Pink by Eduardo 2016-04-21T18:30:00

Really nice concept and execution! A very simple, yet highly challenging, mechanic. Some nice sound-effects would greatly improve the feeling of scoring a point. Well done, especially for a game made in a day! :)

vertex. by PentaHelix 2016-04-21T18:46:00

Very cool take on the entanglement puzzle! Very nice execution :)

Strata: The Shapeshifting Microworld by AtomicPair 2016-04-21T18:38:00

Very nice game! I'm really loving the look and feel of the game - like a puzzle version of Wolfenstein 3D. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a door after the 3+1 sliding blocks :/ Good job!
