Same problem as littlehacksaw here... I definitely want to play it

Woaw ! What a great game.
omg ! the upgrade system + gathering resources + journey through the universe = so addictive and brilliant.
I had fun
To launch the game after installing dependencies just run Talapus.py
If you have any questions or comments let me know here.
Graphics are so awesome <3
I really like your game, one of my favorite in this LD48
The game just crash when I launch it... :/
Nice game ! there is even achievements :)
I like the graphics, but it's short and not so original or related with the theme... But at least, your game's working :)
I forgot to say I kinda like the music, well done for that part sir ;)
Ahhh, it was fun ! Wasn't expecting more from a game :)
It was amazing. And the ending was just so perfect ! <3 awesome
I would have liked to play a longer game with more platforms and light/dark mechanics. Anyway the graphics are really nice, very smooth, it have some interesting monsters, and I like that.
Monocle Engine ! Awesome :D the game fits the theme in an original way I think, it was nice. (played on Linux 64 bits, no problems at all)
That was awesome, I want more !
Remind me Laputa by Miyazaki, and Skies of Arcadia (Dreamcast RPG)
This is one of my favorite entry so far. Really amazing game, great work man ! An astonishing amount of content for 72 hours, I was blown away. I would definitively play an extended version with sounds and music.
OH I'M JUST A THEORY ?! YOU'RE JUST A BITCH !
Awsome :D
OH I'M JUST A THEORY ?! YOU'RE JUST A BITCH !
Awesome :D
Hey, you're getting better and better at drawing characters. Nice use stop-motion, very original idea, it's the first time I see it in a LD game and the first time I play this kind of game.
Many choices in the dialogues that change completely the game, but you have to restart again and again to see everything, it's a bit repetitive. I wish the choices you made have an influence on the evolution of the characters relationship when you return to the guy's place to play again.
I'm a big fan of the meteor's graphics, it feels really powerful ! Funny for a 5 hours game, nice work.
I really like the graphics, levels are huge for a LD and the game is very fun. It actually make me want to try CraftStudio. Definitively an enjoyable game, but the difficulty is a little hard, checkpoints between levels could be a good improvement.
Cool last evolution and ending
The applet is not loading (tried on firefox and chrome) and the .jar's window pops out of my screen so I can't see the game ? move the window :/
Incredibly complete and polished entry. Extremely fast paced action rampage game. This is something strange to say but the colors you choose for some levels are just perfect (http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4DsDbhfCoHU/UNS_B0BA-qI/AAAAAAAAALE/L57W8q7wdaA/s1600/MF5.png). Very minimal graphics and yet it's full of life, so much happening on screen. 5 stars in visual and audio for me.
I liked the main menu too.
Weirdo question time : does the characters you can choose to play with are indie developers/games ? :D (Edmund McMillen, Johann Sebastian Joust, Danny Baranowsky, ... ?)
Graphics and animations are amazingly good ! Wouldn't mind if there were more particles (blood !).
Good entry !
One button game like Pax Britannica (http://paxbritannica.henk.ca/), you did very well in 72h. Very polished, the ships seems well balanced but the 60 sec limit is too hard in my opinion; the game's short but funny and would have a good re-play value without the 60 limit.
More like a short interactive (not that much) story than an actual game. But what a story, man ! It's completely insane and amazing ! You fucking psychopath :D I really loved it.
Good graphics and music too, fit well with what's happening.
You did an amazing job, the game is very fun !
Simple but funny :)
Nice and simple. Really good music too. However, it goes too fast for my eyes/brain, you should consider reducing the speed.
very original, but it seems a bit too easy and repetitive... great take on the theme though
I grew up in the town where Jean Jaures is born and grew up. When I was a child, if someone would had told me that I would play a game where you have to shoot Jean Jaures repetitively, I would not have believed it. And still, here I am, playing this game :D Feels really strange.
Anyway, good work on the graphics and menu, gives a good mood and feels really like the beginning of the previous century.
Gameplay is nice and simple. However, turrets don't seems to be very effective ?
Gets very repetitive, you should include a score or a win/lose condition or something. However, not bad at all for a first game, like Ratking says, keep doing games ! :)
I laughed so hard... it was fun :)
This game is absurdly fun, pretty, hilarious and enjoyable from the start to the end! Feels like breath of fresh air.
Well executed idea, with proper graphics and sound/music, you'll have a really great game !
Fun little game. I love the splash screen !
As good as pr0n
One of the most addictive game of this LD. I played and finished it many times; all alone, with friends, and with strangers.
What I liked :
* the game feels really good and is very fun, with all the lasers, and propulsion, and explosions.
* loved the in game interface to buy stuff.
* the theme worked for me. You're just destroying the planet to get the last resources, so yeah, the players are definitively villains greedy bastards.
* the pirate cave ! so awesome the first time I found it !
* graphics and music, just well done, you know your stuff.
What I didn't like / could be improved :
* there's no ending :( I would expect to find something after the last layer.
* the first ~30 minutes or so is challenging, but after getting all upgrades/weapons the game is too easy. Maybe some monsters or something could change that.
* I would had love to keep every weapons I bought.
* the upgrades buttons would need confirmations with <space> like weapons. How many times I felt on the wrong upgrade...
* in the post LD version, me and my friend encountered the bug where we got stuck and disappeared.
* on the post LD version, if I host a game and a friend join the game, but I get disconnected or refresh the page, the host is listed with others and my friend can still continue playing but I can't join the game (didn't try on the normal version).
I really think this game has a huge potential. Fuck, I would even pay for an enhanced version with more upgrades, maybe monsters/boss, proper ending... or at least, I'm sure more players could enjoy it if you post it on web portals like Kongregate.
Long story short, I know you're busy with BroForce, but this game is super addictive and already complete on itself, it only needs some little changes to be freaking awesome !
Anyway, you got a new fan :)
5 stars for innovation.
You should really dig more into it, it's a very unique concept that I've never saw anywhere else.
Extremely solid and polished for game made in such a small amount of time, well done ! Very solid, Hotline Miami vibes, well executed. Absurdly good game :)
Amazingly good puzzle game !
Well done, CraftStudio people, well done. Very pretty, as always
Art and music are awesome, very polished game, but the gameplay needs more variations.
The light saber mechanic is really fun, I had some amazing epic battles. Very challenging.
I didn't understand what's up with the "loot system based on my actions" though. And I'm sure how the game's related to the theme.
Simple but great. Love the sprites
Great aesthetics and art style. I might like it even more if the game was slower, I feel like it's a little hard and the enemies come too fast.
Excellent work Deconstructeam !
Great visual style and nice music !
A fun (and very hard) one-button game ! Congratulations !
Yes, you can recompile it to fix it. (having this issue too, even with mssvcr110.dll in the folder -Win7 x64)
I loved the visual part (tiles and the character), it's nice you took the time to write a story too. But I have encountered some bugs : the player walks backward, sometimes the run mode is activated without me pushing shift key, some tiles doesn't show up (exit door) and sounds aren't playing (on windows 7 at least).
It's pretty hard too, made to level 4 but I then gave up. I think you should consider making an easier game for your next LD (or maybe it's just me sucking with platformers...). Or maybe putting some checkpoints in the level would solve it ?
Well done ! Great colors and enjoyable gameplay !
Too bad there's no music, I would have loved some for this kind of game.
Your first intention was very interesting, that's too bad you ran out of time to complete it.
Oh, I played your previous entry (A small village), there's a lot of improvements since back then !
A lot of characters to talk to, a lot of objects to interact with, your game is full of life ! This kind of narrative game reminds me Thirty Flights of Loving.
Had a great time, until I had to found the key. I did find it but I wasn't able to pick it up :/ Can you help ? (I first talk to the guy next to the flower, then to the guy downstairs, jump over the bar, pressed E looking at the key but nothing happened :( )
I want to finish this great game !
I'm always impressed when I see someone creating a fully animated and textured character for LD. Great graphics and music, but gameplay-wise I didn't get that much fun, even though the level design is nice. Pushing a ball is kinda boring in my opinion, maybe adding some variants to the level could make it more interesting ? Like floors that change the physics of the ball, or maybe timed moving wall... don't know
Simple game but yet very fun. Well done !
(I'm not a big fan of the negative point when you miss) (and btw, I love the first comment xD kind of true about the graphics, it still is a fun game)
I played it alone (unfortunately) but it was awesome. By the game is made to be played on a AZERTY keyboard, which sucks if you're are on QWERTY, you should add a option of it (or make the QWERTY the default one)
Pwwwwetty hard... require some multi-task :)
Loved it, sound & music, screen effects, that's rad !
Minimalist, Ho!
Loved that the candle is burning, pretty creepy, I was stress to end up in the dark. Remind me Amnesia, which is a good thing.
Searching in the furniture was kinda hard and boring. I like the game though
Really love this idea, and it's the first I play this kind of metroidvania
Quiet enjoyable
Haha, took me a moment to figure out how to play, but this "1 dimension" roguelike is pretty neat. You kept the core mechanics and gameplay but simplified it, and that's quiet a good job you did ! Very minimalist, and yet fun, I'll give you a 5 star for the theme.
Cute story and dialogs at the beginning too :)
I'm back here to say that, after playing a lot of other entries, yours is one of the smarter so far, I really love it. It kinda reminds me The Linear RPG by Sophie Houlden (http://www.sophiehoulden.com/games/thelinearrpg/) I don't know if you ever played it.
Wasn't expecting this "Panic!" situation. That was stressful ^^
I love one button game ^^ good take on the theme and very lively music. Nice entry !
Would be perfect on smartphone !
owww... I was expecting a 2nd scene after the credits. It was short and nice, very complete game on his own, full of references and jokes all around. The text on the bottom of the screen was a great idea. Had a good time, thanks !
I've been questionned, tortured and killed... Pretty deep game... I first thought it'll be a "every day is exactly the same" type of game, but that's just a part of your dystopian society. Quiet brutal ending for me :)
Pretty neat game, very moody. Let's try the other endings !
@ataxkt I actually liked the graphics. Everything's gray, except the propanganda. Felt very depressed while playing as a citizen of this morose country. So, that's a perfect match for me.
Great aesthetic ! I love how took the theme to make a caveman game with basic objective : to feed. Gameplay and level design are good and complete, and so are the music and sounds. Great game !
Pretty fun !
I love that, when the ball goes too fast, it's actually making some sort of minimalist 8bit music :p
Fun, well done.
I'm not sure what to do... there's always a potato under the bucket
Well, I wasn't expecting that... overlapping the 2 stories like you did was actually pretty smart ! Great and innovative way to tell a story, I loved it !
"You died from playing with your dad's gun" oh my god George xD
Liked the age concept (dying was both horrible and pretty funny) and the music too. Congrats !
Pretty good concept you got here. Such a shame you only got 3 hours, I would have loved to play more levels. Very impressive though
I liked the aesthetic of the game, but darn it it's hard. You have to restart from the beginning when you die in the 2nd level... (I know, it's to fit in the theme). Nice work on the animation tho, the music is also pretty good too
Impressive game and clever response to the theme
Reminds me of some levels of an good old called Crash Bandicoot on PS1. Lot of fun !
I was more interested in the dialogue between the player and the IA but those ***** fucking robots kept spawning behind by back
The cross-genre between adventure game, top down shooter (even if there's no real shooting involved) and horror is pretty rad man. Awesome entry.
I didn't finished the game though, I'm stuck after "using" the aerosol, no matter what I do I die.
On the bad side I would say that the walls and doors are pretty hard to see.
I have to say the game felt pretty good right at the start, but after 3 or 4 rooms the level is completely empty and there's nothing else.
Maybe try to work on it tomorrow and enter the compo instead ?
I haven't rated it yet but it's one of my favorite game so far in this LD, it's very addictive and I played multiple times since yesterday.
Yet I can't find this damn fountain of youth. How deep do I have to dig to found the it ? (My best score so far is 17084)
I will beat the shit out this game and then I'll come back here to rate it !
Ok, I've got my answer. Finished the game 8D http://i.imgur.com/YkYkJD3.png
And new personal best score : 48185. I was something like 10 or 12 levels deep, maybe ?
It was so much fun, great game !
Thank you guys for noticing, I pushed an hotfix to address this bug.
Now that I played this game, I'm happier than when I started playing it.
Hi, I'm the guy who made a game similar to yours, Thanks for your comments ! :)
I actually really like your level design, especially the tutorials one, I think it's better than in my game. For example, the ones with positive/negative spaces are a great idea (tutorial 4 if I remember correctly). We should merge our games :D
I also like your peaceful and ambient music that goes well with the game.
I know you're not supposed to, but it felt pretty satisfying to kill the hostages too, you know, just once in a while...
A well made game. I have the feeling the game would be pretty great on mobile too !
Fantastic visuals & great ambient sounds. Love the man shaped.. thingy.
Too short. A lot of good things though: loved the architecture work you done, there some neat ambient sounds, and the black and white contrast is superb. Not much to do in the game (simple puzzle mechanics like in Ico would be wonderful), but I think that ok, it's contemplative and there's a lot done for a 48h entry. Well done!
Very moody, very much like fez but in a good way. Polished entry with awesome sounds and music, great art aesthetic. Sadly a few bugs (game froze while going through a door)
Can't find any flaw, it's a great entry and it's very satisfying to play it a long time. I paid for game that are way worse than this and I spent less time on them...
Great job!
OMG, this game. So perfect for a ludum dare. Simple yet deep. I'd love to be able to do such a great game one day. (I can't keep things simple somehow -_-)
It's fun to play, like, once I understood was going on I was just addicted. Great entry and congrats ! :)
I think the graphics are just gorgeous, totally dig this style.
Great aesthetic and choice of color, the allocation interface is just great. The game start very simple, but there is a lot of new equipments for each new rescue, which add a lot of flavor to the game as it get harder. I'm not sure there's a lot of replayability to it, as the game allow the player to choose a lot of resources, so I usually take a little of everything and there's no crucial choice to make here.
Still, a great entry and a very enjoyable game!
Very impressive for 48h. A lot of good work done on so many fields. I don't know how you managed to do it but you rock
It needs clearer way to indicate what's happening. A meter or something
Even with those pixelated minimalist graphics, you made me feel at the beach. The little stuff, like looking up and see birds flying, looking down and have the feet in the water while searching for seashell.
Second ending would have been nice, I'm pretty sure I got all those little fuckers soul! Muahaha.
Anyway, great entry, and as always, delightful dialogs full of life <3
It fits to the theme. Too bad there isn't much levels. I liked the indirect control over the physics bellow
Very frustrating we can't control the reactor. But it's pretty good for 8 hours!
Not sure how to feel and rate all those flappy bird clones though :/
The game can be so meta when associated with LD entries :D
Very pretty characters and pixel art
Great concept, this game made me realize that it's just very very fun to play insects. It reminds me of a playstation 2 game where you played a mosquito. Would had love to see humans in the game. Or animal or some sort. even other insects. But that seems very complicated to implement for a Ludum Dare. Good entry
As pointed out, the platformer engine is not smooth, and the controls are... well, not great. But if you get past this little things, you have a pretty deep game with great mechanics that really deserve to get a try. I personally loved it, it's fun and pretty much complete as a whole. You and your game, sir, deserve more votes and comments! I'd love to see this concept extended :) (I'll admit I have a kink for mining game with resource management)
Some ideas to make the game even cooler:
* metrics system to see how deep we are (or some other stats)
* unified treasure/gems system, so i can buy whatever I want
* infinite (or at least larger) map ?
* went to the bottom, but there were nothing special. an end game would be cool but I suppose you ran out of time
* upgrades
Very nice pixel art and animation
Excellent, as always. Very impressive when I see what I can do in the same amount of time.
I think I made it to the surface, even though there were nothing to do there. Some levels have a good progression, and are fun to solve, some are too easy (the last ones). That's the hard part when making a puzzle game: knowing the difficulty of the level you just made. Like others said, the game needs some feedback on desktop when moving tiles, but it seems fit for mobile (gave it a try on my nexus 4 but the game screen was too big).
Nice work!
I think the camera is following the little bud too quickly (and too closely ?). I'm getting motion sickness from playing this game. I like the art style though, the little dude and the ship flying at the hand. I made it with 5 health left, that was close ! ^^
Fantastic graphics but the music loop is too short and repetitive, it gets very boring.
I feel the game has potential but I can't wrap my head around the controls. Things happen too quickly, drill too fast and the first few games were hard.
On the other side, graphics are great, and I see the strategy in it. Just, my brain and my hand somehow refuse to work together and I can't beat it.
Reminds me of a boss in Fez (from the Dreamcast). Liked the concept and the graphics, but the control for rotating felt weird.
Couldn't get past the spiders sadly, tried 5 times but I suck :( But there seems to have various enemies, nice shadow effects, the music was perfect and the animation really worked well.
Impressive performance for a Love game, I didn't know you could do such cpu intensive calculation with it. I played a lot with the editor too, it was way better than what I use for making map. Nicely done!
Little word of advise: don't use installers for your game, usually people don't like them and prefer zip file (but I've no idea if it's even possible with Gamemaker?).
That being said, nice little game, would definitively see that on mobile. Good work!
Great concept, too bad it's hard to find someone who plays at the same time as you. I guess that's the problem when you do multiplayer for a Ludum Dare... Still, fits perfectly the theme, very original.
Well... The game over voice definitively made it for me. Great job!
Good visuals and music, it sets the mood, but the gameplay is a little bit too repetitive.
The gameplay is not very original but feel good and the dialogs are just brilliant (and dubbed !). Really happy I've played this.
Pretty cool and simple idea, well executed, and the result is really fun to play. I like it! Well done
It's the best game ever. What else can I say ?
The game has sound effects, music and good voice over, gorgeous graphics, randomly generated levels, punks from the 80's, multiple levels... Very polished and complete game, I'm giving 5 stars in a lot of categories. Just a fantastic game, good work team!
I like this kind of digging game! But there's something missing here, I don't know, maybe more diversity...? Would had love to find more materials, maybe treasure, and sometimes I found caves, but there's just nothing special in it :/
And more cool bad ass stuff in the store perhaps? Like something that just explode the blocks, bombs, lasers, you name it.
And I couldn't find a way to restart. Behind stuck down there is a little harsh don't you think. Maybe restart from the shop while losing our cargo would be better?
Still, good music, nice graphics, that's a good work you've done there!
That ending.
Deconstructeam you are incredible... my mind is blown... I have to lay down for a minute... I am in a half-conscious hypnotic state right now
I don't know why and how, but this is fun!
By the way, there's an annoying interface bug where the list of names pops up but the origins point of the popup seems to be out of the screen, so I can't reach some of the names. Happens often when the list is big and I have to fill a blank at the to of the form
I am so impressed by the level design O_O like, some people really know their stuff around here
Incredible game for a compo entry! Reminded me of some old Playstation platformer games
Fantastic game with a clever story telling. It's so polished on every aspects that you could probably sell it if it was longer.
I've enjoyed your games since The Last Survivor. You always come up with new and originals mechanics, and exploits them fully. On a less personal level, man, that game is pretty hard and is really not that much related to the theme...
A lot of games with gigantic monster destroying cities in this LD edition! :)
This is fun, I like that we play the monster but it's shown through a tv news feed, that way we get some feedback on how the horror is perceived by the humans, we get the 2 sides of this "story".
The tv effects with the news banner scrolling are very polished, but the in-game seems a little but unfinished, it's probably missing some colors. Although I've never been a big fan of a 3D game with 2D objects in it, some objects are hard to grab / to target. But I understand 3D requires a lot more development time.
The art and design of the monsters are just incredible. The controls are a little clonky though, and the gameplay gets quickly repetitive. But it's incredibly well polished, well done guys!
The controls are a little too sensible to my taste, but exploring this beautiful world make it up for it.
Man, that's hard. But it's definitively a good and original concept that should be explored even further. It's deep, it's fun, I dig it.
On the other side, I'd love a bigger room with more obstacles.
I'm giving you a 5 for the theme, best idea i've seen so far.
Super beautiful game and fun to play. The gameplay switch when you kill an enemy kept it really fresh to play, and I enjoyed finishing it!
The controls are a little buggy (sometime it would do the action, other times it wouldn't change direction or just stop...). I also feel there is something missing with the knight not attacking you.
Still, it's a really fresh platformer.
Great game and it's actually pretty long. The fighting seems weird, but everything else is perfect!
The game is not finished, but it's a good start, there's definitively something to explore here; the ship and all the cannons feels great; I like how it's slow paced and everything is subject to time and distance, that you have to think ahead where the enemy will be when the lasers arrives.
But it's too easy and too repetitive in it's current state. Yet promising! Good job
Always a good time with your games. Everything is perfectly executed, the difficulty curve is good, it's easy to play and you understand immediately how things work. Many thing to learn from it. Well done!
The theme is a bit light but the player movements are great and smashing the little cubes feels actually really satisfying. I had more fun than what I asked for
It's crazy how good the graphics are and how polished the game is. Really good game and interesting take on the theme
The aesthetics reminded me of Daria, which instantly caught my attention. I'm a sucker for this 'everyday slices of life' games and I love this one. Even tough the gameplay is pretty mechanical, it's beautiful and touching, without even saying a word.
Great choice for the music btw
This is truly horrifying. In a good way! I like the pixel aesthetic with modern effects like lights, the game plays well, is simple to understand but fun.
And man, how awesome is the music?! I launched the game but went to another tab, and after a few moments, I was like "what's that sound? Is it from the tentacules games? Holy crap, that great... ok let's play it!".
There's no mention of any collaborators. Did you do it all by yourself? Because the music is incredible, the level design is pretty good and interesting, graphics are great... some people just know their stuff here!
Disclaimer: can safely played at work. It's actually a great app if you're working in a call center or IT department. I see a lot of potential for pranks in this... But enough with my evil plans directed at my co-workers.
People might be fooled by the austere interface of the game, but it's actually perfectly coherent with the game.
There's a connection between you and the people you scam. At least that's what I felt. I would love to play an enhanced version with more in-depth conversation, get attached to their personality. And then just scam them!
The summary at the end was a really nice touch. I felt even more connected to them. Like, my choice had consequences to this people.
Like you can imagine, I really liked you game. Consider me a fan. It reminded me of @oujevipo's game "Never Alone Hotline" (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-22/?action=preview&uid=1874), but in a more dicky way.
You monster.
5/5 for the acting performance :D LD games need more voice over!
Super satisfying, simple to play, the controls feel good, it is indeed perfect. It really help releasing stress
The aesthetics and graphics are incredible!
Very nice and polished game. At first I didn't notice that I could level up, you could use something more visible than a flickering button. Maybe a text near the middle of the screen "Use your point to level up" when it's available
Having no minimap and being lost was part of the fun, but having some kind of indication of which direction is the exit would have been nice. Even if it's only at the very beginning of the level. The exit itself can easily be mistaken to something else and is easy to miss. But enough with my complains. It's an incredible first Ludum Dare entry, with replayability, good graphics (even though it's not yours) and a nice take on the theme. Well done
Eating while playing this game was not the best idea, one question popped in my mind: was the poop texture "made" during the jam or did you externalized this process, I'm curious?
Holy broccoli! I don't know how there's not more review on this game. The game is very polished and is freaking fun to play. Also, giant worm + eating people + destroy buildings. What's not to love about it ? And it's perfectly executed. Great job to the team!
Incredible narrative game
Very nice graphics and good mood
I'm very impressed how well polished the game is. There's multiple music (and they're pretty good for a game jam too!), the take on the theme is pretty clever, there's a lot of different situations (even though I'd love to have different objects for the same situation) and it's fun to play.
Very well done guys!
The level tiles and enemies are a little too repetitive, but the monster is freaking awesome and I love how it moves his bloody tentacles. A real nightmare vision. Well done!
Dinosaur + Destruction = a combination that can't fail. This is so much fun
Btw, why are the people flying at the end? Is everyone going to heaven because everyone is dead? :D
Great graphics, and the introduction is so well made and has everything. But the jumpings are kind of ridiculous, I finished the game without killing anyone and without losing any life... which could be a good gameplay alternative, but really isn't.
Super cute baby monster. It brings back memories.
