Mad props for the voice over intro, pretty good! You even have a goat recording :D There were so many green men, it felt overwhelming.

This game is pretty damn fun! Highly polished for a 48 hours game. This is something I'd go back and play. Only issue I had is there's a chance you spawn on the streets and get run over in a second.
Pretty good. There were a couple glitches (mostly jittery movements and pathfinding) and it was hard not to go broke the first couple of plays. Music is great!
Getting this error trying to download: "The file you attempted to download is an archive that is damaged or possibly encrypted. Great visuals and I love the music. Definitely needs a short instruction on what you represent in the game and what the target represents. Other than that, nice, simple and fun game!
I like the character design, looks like one of those apothecary back in the medieval days. Really cool story and mood. Got a little tedious walking around the level though.
If there's anyone trolling in this game, it's the unicorn :) Good art and gameplay.
Read the explanation, I guess that makes it evil.
Best sprite is the guy rolling around with the office chair :P
The aesthetics and music is great. Those are some freaky screams.
I love how the game starts off. Really good aesthetics! I like the fact that you pick the weapons up from the fallen enemies.
Pretty damn awesome game, and the post-compo is even more awesome. The post-compo pretty much resolved the quirkiness I found. Great work! I see you used cgMusic ;)
Wow, almost all the art is well polished for just 48-hours, along with the game mechanic! That's pretty awesome! Love the animations (though when the lumberjacks attack, it looked odd). The gameplay got a bit repetitive, all the enemies pretty much do the same thing. The tune was pretty catchy, however! =P
I love the music, it's so catchy! Best part of the game is the mischief text at the bottom, they pretty much liven up the game!
I'm really liking this game. I like the art, especially seeing different types of groups...and a completely different animal side-sick. Great game mechanic!
I like the fact that you don't have to play as the villain. Everything about this game oozes with cuteness, even the music! I chose the good side. I wasn't really sure how to beat that purple guy at level 3.
The Captain Sparkleses and Captain Men didn't stand a chance. But alas, ultrawoman arrested me...I wasn't quite sure if my wooden door and poison gases were enough for the next hero. There was no time for a diabolical counter.
Cool concept. The art has that nice retro feel to it, even the sound (though was a bit loud). I manage to beat the boss!
Pretty awesome game, great intro! Nice and simple graphics works really well. Definitely would play the expanded version!
+1 for the options. :) I wasn't really sure what they all do. The evil lair was a bit odd with the spikes. Good humor for all the bastardness!
Would be nice to have some sort of transparent keypad like a tablet virtual pad. There seems to be no danger of running out of food. Mr Toothy is a very happy shark, indeed!
I love the art-style, especially the wolf. I haven't found the "secret" key yet :(
Nice, best improv music! I couldn't help but laugh along :D I love the dialog and the twist in the end. I feel sorry for the guy! Going through and exploring was somewhat rewarding.
I wasn't sure what was going on...and I got stuck to the far right...didn't even get to shoot lasers and find any princess :( Not a bad game, mad props for getting it out here! :) +1 for laser shooting unicorns.
I was kinda confused at first then I sort of figured out what was going on after a few loses. Nice mosaic art.
The music and sound really fits the theme! I was mostly distracted by twirling the moustache around. :P Took me a while to figure out how to capture those coins, but once I did, that's when it got fun. Really awesome game!
Man that is one tough farmer...and a creepy army dude. I feel like they're the bad guys.
This was kinda fun, doesn't feel like I was losing. It's got that atari feel to it. I can see this being a nice little mobile app too.
I have to agree, it's a pretty nice art style. I can't rate the humor yet until there's an English version or I learn the language!
Good music in the end though. :P
It's a nice balance of managing your resources with the orb, but at some point it felt grindy. Still pretty cool game with the special powers.
I love the ending, that pretty much gave this game's humor... and the Michael Jackson-esque move animations.
In this game, king's men raped me. I like the controls, would have been nice to have the character face where it is heading. I sometimes misfire not knowing where I am pointing at. Really cool game though, just really hard at start.
It was definitely hard to get used to the controls, but it was definitely fun just moving stuff around and seeing what each functionality does. Definitely promising.
I can tell you had a lot of fun making this game, the audio and music added a lot. :)
The main screenshot and title caught my attention. Great music! I got a bit confused with the rusty-looking sign.
Well made sandbox torture chamber! Mad props to love2D! ;)
What I like about this game is your character's seemingly innocent descent into villainy. Kinda of a cute story, I feel :P Nice stealth effect, was a bit too fast on the drain...might've been nice if it was a toggle so the player can focus on maneuvering.
Cute game. I like the lighting.
I'm loving the beat, makes me want to kick forest critters too! It was kind of hard to determine the kick hitbox, might be too small based on the animation. Overall, cool graphics and a pretty fun game!
This must be what is in the mind of every villain.
Looks like you went nuts with the lighting on this one :P Also when I got 'caught', it didn't seem to stop me from looting more. That's pretty villainous now that I think about it!
This is a fun game! It got kind of hard when the hero is pretty much near your castle. I had to keep defending. I don't remember if creatures collecting also attack? Also would be nice to have a select indicator. Good interface with description of each icon. Overall fun game, best fetch quest I've done! :)
Having lived long enough in the US, I find this humorous. Great twist in the end!
The game definitely has some atmosphere in it. Not sure if I was a villain though. Good graphics and audio! Now it just needs more exploration and possibly a checkpoint.
Really hard to get used to the controls...as soon as I jump, all hell breaks loose. It gets more fun as you get a hang of the controls. I like the sound effects of the dialog and a nice music. Props for online score!
Pretty good concept. I love the atmosphere! I the graphics and audio worked really well together. Thanks for the tip on how to effectively move the knobs. :P
Nice hand-drawn graphics, it works really well! A tad bit hard especially the first level.
Sweet, I won a goat! I like how the global light diminishes as you spew more darkness. I definitely enjoyed the spewing mechanic. It was just a tad bit tedious on certain spots, mainly on corners.
I can't believe mere birds and balloons can destroy a missile. ..I had a lot of fun playing this game. Truly a glorious game!
Pretty good game, I like that there's a different mechanic on each fight. Compelled me to fight on. I manage to beat god! That fork kept getting stuck on the edge. No overuse of puns...thank god!
The turn-based part is fun. There's some pretty decent graphics. Definitely a game worth polishing to completion! Als, great Napoleon voice-over! :)
Nice little game, seem much easier just to blast the monster though. There seems to be no reason to manually dump pollution, might as well be automatic. Good animation and the art works out well!
Great mechanics, not too difficult, yet challenging. Lots of content for a short amount of time! The snow flakes were a bit excessive though. :P
This is pretty awesome, and really sinister. Vanity and narcissistic, definitely a true villain!
Well, the art definitely caught my attention. After I manage to get pass the "smoke" area, I assume that was the end?
The AI in this game plays Minesweeper better than I do! I love the concept!
I realized people can comment on their own entry...Thanks guys for the feedback, really helpful! Yes, changing direction breaks the attack flow...I think it should have just remain an attack, and have the speed give a bonus damage (fire comes out for added effect!). Also, the "guard" could have been something more awesome. Most especially, there needed to be more enemies and bigger level bound.
The boss btw, I didn't have time to create...so it's a placeholder :P
Ok, seems like those guys with a heart are hard to kill, so I updated the game. I would recommend trying it out before rating, I think it is ok under "MY GAME CRASHES, IS UNBEATABLE, OR I MADE A TYPO".
Pretty good art. Seemed a little too easy as I just move forward and swing that cross non-stop. And yes, that's terrible music at the end. :P I love the gameover screen, great reference!
All it took is an orc and that hero was pretty much done. I like the game mechanic, something that can definitely expand to a polish game.
Looks like the entire village, no, the entire country is out to get Sam...poor guy, I feel like he's the victim, not the villain. :( I love the art, it's got that snes feel to it.
Great work on a simple yet fun gameplay!
Nicely done. It's oddly fun just to see what the hero is up to, and what sort of 'progress' I get. Kinda difficult to catch up with the hero's power though (I think it's impossible)
I really like the player's animation. It gives that cheesy villain personality, in a humorous way! :) A bit in the difficult side. The voice-over and sounds are great though!
I think I got the doctor trapped...if that's the idea of the game, then that's ingenious! Never would I have expected the cat as the double-crossing villain!
This is pretty fun! I like the management of resource between water and fire. The music blends well with the game.
I was kinda disappointed that you can't hit the goat...or can you? The momentum definitely started to build up once you get at least 3 upgrades. Also, I love the "boom" sound :)
I thought I was kicking ass, then I realized it's a two player game...
I love the mechanics and challenge! I manage to get to the level with a lava, how do you pass that when you are given no traps? is this a bug? Anyhow, great game and nice dialogs.
All it needs now is a van and an attic, and this should be golden!
Cool, I won a +1 goat icon! I anticipated being an asteroid bouncing around, but instead I'm some sort of laser canon. Definitely cooler! Nice use of effects.
Love the grappling mechanic. At some point though the head fell on the floor.
Well polished game, love the graphics and music! A pigeon that poops stinky brown and a lovely smile...can't possibly be healthy.
This game is brilliant, clever mechanics and quite humorous dialog!
Almost killed my computer processing when I was switching between focus. Otherwise, great graphics and theme!
Great concept! I love the idea of attacking other people's base. Nice graphics and props for the scary looking goat! :P
Really awesome! I love the art-style, it's like playing in a stylized old fashion movie poster! Also love how the music changes as you approach Kong. The controls play really well. It wasn't really that hard when you figure out that you can just go from behind and do a slow attack, rinse and repeat. Would benefit from different attack patterns. Overall, great game!
The graphics is great and so is the music/audio, great atmosphere! I couldn't understand the mechanics at first and realized you can click on the traps. Broke the rules a couple times before I saw the rule sheet. :P Overall, fun and original game!
Man, what a depressing game...I had fun though! The art works out well, and the music is good!
Nice game. Good visual ques on what each icon does (I didn't read the instructions before playing the game). I didn't know you can drag each node.
platformer/sneak/puzzle, great job mixing it well! I think you were also going for the 'sarcastic-sidekick' too :P I love the fact that the zombies are super hero physicists :D
I had fun anticipating what each type of weapon I can get. Pretty good game!
Great background and tile art, the sprites felt out of place. :P Still, pretty solid mechanic. Apparently Satan also bursts into gifts. The fact that there are levels beyond that is a nice twist! :)
Pretty good atmosphere. I had to get used to the controls, but after a while it felt ok. Finally a point and click adventure with 'smell' as an action!
Great job! Well polished for a 48-hour game. Reminds me of Dungeons, but I had more fun playing this one :P
Pretty cool game. My initial thought was I'm setting up the enemies to fight the 'hero' ship (I didn't read the description at first). There was definitely a high learning curve with the combination system, and not much visual feedback when installing each one. Best part is definitely getting more of those modules, though I end up having so many that it goes off the screen :P
Jobbinhood. Pretty nice and simple, yet fun. I didn't use the left click much as right click is just far more effective. That is some freakishly high-pitched sound...I guess that how it sounds like when you shed feathers and pierce people with it to death.
There are certain levels where there's no way to prevent Tombo from getting the treasure and reach the exit. I like the gameplay, it can definitely expand to have other neat stuff like maybe interactions in the level, etc. Also, love the music beat! :)
Wow this game has one of the most brilliant game mechanic I've seen here, to be honest! Great game! It wasn't quite clear how to clean stuff up in level 2 though.
This is a well made evil sim game! I did feel overwhelmed near the end. I basically just ended up having two temples and just stuff it with as much creatures as I can click. Might be better to just auto collect those golds if their sole purpose on ground is waiting to be clicked. Graphics fit well with the theme. Audio is alright, at least it's there!
Nicely executed concept. I love the names of the cities, those definitely add to the humor! I wasn't quite sure what some of the stuff I bought from expansion/black market do. The game is too easy though, there seem to be no threat or impacting consequences.
Pretty cool idea about possessing ships! Though it got distracting with the stars around, needs more contrast. The difficulty is either normal or impossible based on the pattern.
+1 points for the epicness in the credits! Please put a "warning, may cause seizure" :P This game is pretty diabolical. I love it. Great music and diabolical art.
Had a difficult time in the beginning until I use a little more caution. This is a fun game!
Pretty awesome game. I enjoyed the dialog and improv voice, there must have been a lot of breath catching to make this game. Props to that!
I can't seem to run the game...Windows 7 64-bit, if that helps. Also ran it on the desktop. Nothing happens when I run it (not even showing in the task manager processes)
@koller-digital Yeah that was it. I was under the assumption my java is up-to-date since it always nags me to update it.
Definitely took a while for me to understand the mechanics. Pretty good game, may actually work well for 2-player.
Not a bad game. Going around mowing everything can surprisingly be fun. Music kept playing when I closed the game via the browser.
I feel like there's a strong message here about society, and the silliness of it is quite true. The art works out well, along with the music. Also, the dialog is pretty amusing. Great work, there is definite potential in this game!
Great aesthetics, nice and clean. Music was also fitting. I had a lot of fun shooting down those beach bums! It did felt a little easy after a while, still fun mowing them down!
I was pretty much cutting all the things.
Yup, archive corrupted. Looked like an interesting game too.
Download is fixed now...but there's an installer :( Still, that was the most 'awww' intro I've seen. I love the animation, esp. the twirl. +10 to cuteness! Would have been nice to see more levels, I thought it was a glitch when it ran the intro again.
Nice guitar soundtrack, really fits the mad scientist theme! I like the art. I have to agree about reloading your ammo, the feedback and where to get them weren't obvious. Maybe some sort of arrow indicator on the barrels and bigger/brighter ammo icon.
I really like the concept, most unique I've seen. The first few battles, I ended up just going between defend/counter/attack. Took a while to mix things up. Great music and theme!
Nice twist in the end. Great music, I love it!
Great game. The controls play smoothly and the animations are well made. Music fits well. Getting caught continuously was a little annoying though.
The dialog is what kept me playing this game. Very simple mechanic that works out well with the story progression, a nice touch! I was confused at first at what the controls are...and I wasn't really sure what allocating aliens on each row really does. Overall a good game!
That monster really looks scary! Great job on that! I enjoyed making strategies on the order of kids to scare. Other than that, I failed a couple times when I thought the light wasn't going to spot me. A retry button would be nice.
Love the concept!
Great voice-overs! Though I agree that some of them are too loud. The game felt too easy, I can pretty much throw a doughnut towards the cop offscreen indefinitely. Maybe if he moves up and down in some random intervals. The level progression didn't seem to increase the difficulty. Overall a fun game, there's a lot of personality in the graphics and voice.
Nicely made, very complete! The game is also challenging.
Great presentation! The lo-fi pixel art worked really well with the animations and physics. That made the game more fun. The shotgun and rpg blast had a nice feel to it. I found a bug where I was pretty much invincible the entire game. I picked an invulnerability at some point...I guess it never wore off. Other than that, I don't think it fit the theme =P I was wondering if there is a twist in the end that makes Santa evil.
I'm a sucker for sneaky action adventure games, I had fun playing this one!
I actually had fun just seeing how much that pit can take :) Now if it can import Mii's and XBox Live Avatars!
The teleport mechanic is definitely the highlight and works well. Kinda hard to jump between platforms though. Also the audio has that nice Atari feel to it. Good stuff!
Pretty cool monster, that pretty much caught my attention. Because it's such a unique looking monster, I played it for a little while :) The mouth mechanic helped keep each run from being too repetitive.
Nice elegant design and the shape looked lively. The ambiance music is really cool!
I have to admit, I kept losing after the 2nd beat, sometimes passing 3rd or 4th. I can't really figure out the timing.
Also, tried it on android :)
Hm...I don't about the theme though...this feels more like nihilism than minimalism...You took away too much!
I like this game, very tricky and challenging! Would be nice to be able to control the pitch of the camera or have it orbit instead. I think the cooldown is a little too long.
Good use of 1-bit color, except some enemies have the same "blackness" as the character which from time to time got me confused. Sometimes I lose track of where my cursor is amid the chaos.
I like the idea of pushing enemies off the platform to kill them, it adds more tension to the game than just blasting away.
Really cool game overall!
Interesting take on minimalism, in this case the hero is forced into it! I like the controls, very fluid and the levels are pretty challenging. One little nitpick though is the text is kinda hard to read, it's too compact for that resolution.
You got me hooked with the music, so catchy! Lovely graphics, might need to tweak the title to be more legible.
At first I thought the strategy is to just bang my hands on the keyboard, then the later stages proved me wrong! Great take on the physics block style game!
Man, I love the music in all respect. As soon as the psychedelic mode initiated, I just had to keep it going. I enjoyed playing this game overall!
Beautiful game but was very difficult for me! Great atmosphere and style!
Hm, I didn't know there's such a term as "minimalist hipster" #TIL #LD48 #YOLO
I agree that the dialog runs too fast. I love how the screen shakes as the axe hits the ground, really gives that heavy impact feel.
Ha, I used to have a gba flashcard! Mad props for making the game for gba!
I love the audio! I had a good laugh for the silly voice-over on every action. Also the music is great.
Great game mechanics too! I enjoy this type of puzzle!
Solid RTS! A genre that is the most difficult to develop and you pulled it off in 2 days! I love the art, the units are very distinguishable, nice!
This sort of RTS works great on mobile! You can probably add the other features back in: like queue, priority attack, etc.
As a starcraft player, siege tank is imba!
The sappiness and cuteness of this game overwhelmed me! I couldn't handle it! Beautiful pattern and artwork! The story was a bit cliche but it got interesting. Especially near the end!
I got stuck after I was told to kill 100 old men, do I really have to do that? I ended up just watching the vid :P
Needed some sort of audio, but the story and art felt more than enough for me.
Great work!
Definitely has that minimalistic feel to it. The graphics fit nicely! Would be nice to be able to speed up the text though. Overall I enjoyed playing this game.
Love the dialog, it served the story well! So much content!
Pretty cool puzzles, albeit sometimes I have to guess where those jump-pads land you to. I end up doing a lot of trial and error.
Great execution! Nice and clean graphics and a great soundtrack! I love the fluidity of movement. You nailed the theme with this game!
I like the color palette in this game, has that rusty and ancient feel to it which fit nicely with the game.
It's an interesting take on platformer with the jump button being stuck. It got a little frustrating with the falling ceiling though. The camera shake is too strong...
Beautiful game, very well executed! The music goes with the game perfectly. Nice challenging puzzles, not too frustrating!
There's a lot of potential in this game, it's enjoyable once understood! At first I thought you can only rotate, but then you can swap too, I guess I didn't fully read the instructions!
Needs visual cues like after you click it does an actual rotate or swap. And if it's an invalid move, it'll snap back.
Also, combos!
Overall, great innovation!
I love the quotes you put, it added depth to the game. The game is actually pretty fun and dying in one hit adds a lot to the intensity. Also cool that you keep tabs on which color is winning. Come on, blue team!
Overall I enjoyed this! The idea of keeping tabs on team score is really cool.
Awesome intro, made me laugh! Great animation and humor!
I failed 3 times, screw minimalistic art!
Pretty cool art style! I like how everything is made with squares, I guess that's minimalism! I also like how you use the dead bodies as some sort of way to progress through the level!
Pretty cool take on breakout! It got quite hectic as I progressed. Nice challenging game!
The screen is a little too saturated for me though, especially the intro, I had a hard time reading the story.
Lovely title!
Thanks for the comments so far!
@Dark Acre Jack The game at least saves your progress...so once you finish a room, you don't have to go back there.
@minibutmany The spacebar repels enemies away and gives you a small push towards your moving direction (I probably need to strengthen it to give it a more impact).
@CMaster You're right, it's better to return to the last level after death. Also, the regen is actually there, you just have to keep moving. I made a tweak so that you regen faster while idle.
Also, boost is a little better.
Those are now in the game, makes for a better experience.
Thanks for the feedback guys!
@Mark Hildreth, did it extract with an actual folder? There should be a 'dotLife_Data' folder. TBH, I don't have a Linux environment ready...I just recalled that UnityWeb doesn't support Linux yet so I built a stand-alone for Linux. It's not tested, I guess till now...Gonna try it out on my gimp laptop that has linux on it.
I love the aesthetics of this game! I feel like I'm playing on a gaming watch or one of those cellphone games back in the days! Really cool! I had a difficult time figuring out if I hit an enemy or not though...
Does this bug have something to do with not stopping the previous music track? :P Can't rate audio yet, but the music so far is good.
Great art style, story-telling, and humor! But, the perspective of the game is really hard to discern...there's no feel of depth and it's really hard to know which height your character is in. Looks like I'll have to adjust a little to get through the game, I really want to see the rest of it!
This is as minimalistic as it gets, but still manage to be stylish. Definitely has that modern touch to it.
I can't run the game...it hangs then windows says it stopped working. I'm on windows 7 x64.
Ok, I got it to work. I basically reinstalled the xna redist...odd.
Anyways, I really love the art in this game, really cool. Also the fog is awesome and the levels are well designed such that you don't blindly fall into traps. The subtle glow of the mushrooms is a nice touch.
Beautiful take on the classic arcade games! Good transition and great presentation! The potato felt out of place though. :P
Wow, this is a very deep game and very dream-like! I enjoyed this very much! It was pretty sappy. Would be cool if the game just kept on repeating and the flowers just keep adding in the end ;)
Overall, great style and mood!
Great game! I love the look and feel, it looks crisp! I love the animations, simple yet expressive! Also good music! The sword mechanic felt a little monotonous at the beginning, but got very interesting later on.
Really cool! I think I spent the most time with this one.
Kinda hard to pin-point the humor...I guess that depends on what the user creates. :P
Yeah, windows link is down.
I was caught surprise by not being able to use the mouse, I freaked out the first time. Pretty cool concept, not sure there was more to do than turn pictures on and see the tree light up, which was pretty funky.
Then I read your description, there's a secret! I played again and found the exit! I think I was able to get the hint. That was really neat experience!
This game is brilliant! I feel like just walking around the vista and exploring is more than enough to merit this as a game. The graphics reminds me of Dr. Seuss multiplied with 10 LSD. Along with the chaotic perspective, a music that strangely puts me at ease.
The power of this game is able to make me experience the ultimate reality without the influence of psilocybin.
Cool game mechanics, got a little frantic as it goes on.
Wow this game is awesome! It's mesmerizing and has that eerie vibe to it. I feel like I'm some sort of reaper trying to heard these restless souls into the well of rebirth...or something like that!
I was super confused for a good number of minutes figuring out what I'm controlling and how things are moving...after that the game became more enjoyable. The levels can become ultra difficult if you mess up the trajectory of each white ball, sometimes it's better to just restart.
Great use of audio!
Wow this is a very surreal yet real game, lots of valid points. I would have enjoyed just watching though :P
Wow, really cool art style! Great use of colors and triangles! Also, is there suppose to be audio?
My only complaint is that it took so long for me to buy skills, for the longest time all I do is attack =P
I love the audio aspect of this game! I wish I can be amish too and collect sheeps all day.
I hate to say this but, "See all the cats in the internet" is an impossible task.
Really symbolic game, I love it! The ending was a bit of a surprise though.
Good choice of color and nice particle effect, the landscape really felt dreamy.
If there is a music to accompany this game, it would maybe be something like Enya :P
Having your family killed by a castle sounds rough. Interesting character design.
Pretty cool! I grew a lot of tulips, I like how they are kept track when you start over. Nice presentation and a decent soundtrack.
Interesting take on the theme, so you're basically the giver of minimalism =P I like the title, that caught my attention! =)
I played for a while and I wasn't quite sure if I'm doing something wrong. I may have ran out of guys to bully.
Anyways I enjoyed playing, the intro was good! They have intense expressions!
Really cool game! The paper art style with the lighting and shadow fit so well and added that nice extra feel to it. Then there's the music, that really set the mood nicely.
Wow you went all out on special effects for this one! You have an awesome engine, really cool! I especially love the shadow effects.
I also enjoyed the gameplay, it was a little hard to do those jumps in some occasions. Also the screen went all white when I switch to window mode but went back to normal after I switch back to fullscreen.
This is a pretty cool game, I like how it shuffles you to various levels. Also the fact that your death marks help you guide you the next try.
Nice gameflow and music.
Nice relaxing game! Great music too! I love how the stem grows fluidly the light beam is pretty cool.
Wow, I love the art style in this game! I like the idea that you have to choose wisely which chunk of the level to erase. The only issue I had is it felt awkward to switch between mouse control for erasing.
Controls is a little slippery, but overall I enjoyed the music and the game.
Pretty cool! I realized the game randomizes after I tried again, that's neat. Might need to tweak some rooms to allow the player a little breathing room when they enter, that's how I died twice. :P
Beautifully made and fits the theme well! I have to agree that showing the control points for non-interactive dots can be confusing.
I enjoy these types of puzzles! I really like the aesthetics and how these shapes form different animals. In a sense, this is what minimalism is! It would be nice to have another button to reverse rotation though. The shapes need to snap in place better as well. Overall, I enjoyed this game.
Really cool, love the glow and colors. Manage to get one more person to play with. Takes a little getting used to moving with the mouse.
I had fun playing this one and I felt compelled to try several times! Challenging, and not too frustrating.
This is the kind of running game I enjoy playing, it has that certain finesse that feels more satisfying than just simple jump. Definitely challenging! With the right art and animation this would be great!
I like the concept, timing gets a little tricky to do. I think the guitar soundtrack is well worth the effort! I really enjoyed the music. Overall I enjoyed the puzzles.
Ah the sixtuple-barreled shotgun, a minimalist's weapon of choice!
Mad props for the way you guys implemented blasting away at the asteroid chunks. Really cool!
Would be even more awesome if the sixtuple-shotgun has a sound, I'm curious as to what it would sound like. Also would add to the gameplay if it has a kickback. I'd imagine firing this sort of shotgun would add quite a force!
Good use of game mechanics to convey story telling! I had a good laugh!
Wow really cool! Best atmospheric audio I've experienced thus far! Plus the visual style fit so well! I wish it didn't ended too soon.
Mad props for using blender!
I had fun playing this game, I was intrigued to continue further. I had a bit of difficulty with the controls in the beginning though, it was a little disorienting at first.
Really nice and clean graphics. The shadows are nice to look at.
The music was pretty melancholic. I feel like the block guy has a rough life and you're helping him out...or something like that :P
What a jerk, that flying saucer bearded guy!
I enjoyed playing this game. Kinda curious, did you do per-pixel collision? It's neat how precise it is and the climbing mechanism worked really well!
Definitely needs music to set the mood! Overall it's great you manage to get all this done given your explanation!
Interesting game, but it was too chaotic. Still it was just enjoyable to watch the balls fly off in all sorts of directions. The music fit really well with the flow of the game.
Really hard to read the text. Also, it seems like the best strategy is to just drag a box on the entire area :P
I have to admit, I laughed out loud once it put me in the game. I think you win the humor in LD!
Very honest and humble game!
Interesting game, I wasn't quite sure what I was picking up and such. Seems like I eventually just die no matter what.
I like the abstraction. Since there have been plenty of potato entries, my first thought was it is a potato feeding baby potatoes. Then when I look back, it might have been birds. Pretty sure those are birds.
Cool game!
Great visuals and ambiance, I was tripping out! I love the effects and how they cycle between colors smoothly. I felt compelled to play through it.
Not sure spacebar is really needed though, might have been better to just automatically enter the next room?
Great use of audio as a game mechanic! I pushed on just to hear some more. Though I did have a difficult time trying to figure out how I finished some of the levels...basically when both audio pieces were lit up, but nothing happens and then one or both fades out.
Overall I enjoyed the experience. Mad props for the talking menu :P
Nice game! I enjoy text adventures from time to time. The interaction is a little unconventional. Things like USE DOOR should work, LOOK should also always list where you can go, this was missing in some locations. I tried 'eat potato', didn't work :(
Pretty cool and relaxing, the fact that it's relaxing puts it in the theme really well!
Wow, that was fantastic! Great use of animation and expressions to convey emotions. The way those other potato things hiss at you, and especially when some of them smacks you, wow. Then the rain started falling down and the thunder, that made it perfect!
This game depicts our life in society and the existence of mankind at its most basic form. If you are to boil down every philosophy and ideals into one meaning: it is this game.
In materialism, you collect; in buddhism, you avoid. We strive to increase a certain value in our life, be it virtue or wealth or karma, and we do our best to avoid things that hurt us.
It is no wonder a game of this type is entertaining and amusing. We see a reflection of ourselves when we play it. In the end, all your accomplishments and discoveries in life all boils down to a simple phrase: "You lose", the core of all epitaph. Then with a press of a spacebar, your slate is wiped clean and your life begins anew.
Oh yeah, nice music! It goes well with the game's pacing.
The funk is strong in this one.
When I saw the word 'potato', I thought, "not another one!". But the peace-flowers on the screenshot says otherwise...so I thought I should give it a benefit of a doubt. Then moment the game boot up, I knew I was in for a ride.
Cool game. One issue I have is I can't tell if I used an item over something or not. Other than that, pretty awesome! I'm stuck though, not sure what to do after I gave the painting to some snooty guy.
Did you really do the soundtrack within 48 hrs? If so, that is really impressive, and a funky game to boot! I feel an OST release is a must!
Minimalism in terms of how the player wants to play, nice one!
Good art style and an interesting take on the metroidvania pacing, it's a breath of fresh air for sure! I like how the hero is so insistent on leaving the planet :)
Music fits the game well.
I like the feel of the game, really conveys what it's like to trudge across a snowy fields with nothing but shadowy things to keep you company. The foot tracks across the snow indicates danger and is more than just aesthetics. The red and blue circles feel out-of-place in the world though.
omg, this game is awesome! I love the art and color scheme! Lots of details all around the village. I see there's a cameo of a little known soap bar in the game too ;)
At first I thought it's a roller coaster ride designer, turned out to be a collect stars game...then suddenly it turned into a roller coaster ride!
This game is very polished for 72-hours, really cool! I like the graphics style!
Wow, this is a beautiful video game history interactive documentary! You pulled it off really well! The gameplay and narrative didn't feel tact-on, they complement each other!
I think you manage to combine the two media together really well! Something that has puzzled a lot of game-devs and film-makers for a long time!
My interpretation: Dance Dance Revolution meets Dark Overlord Underworld Remix. I like it! The timer text is blocking the view in the center though.
Cute cube art, got me to play your game!
You nailed the retro feel on the music and sound!
My only complaint is it got a little repetitive after 2 levels. Sorry!
Definitely gives the feel of a shooter game with the random banters! Very humorous, I had a good laugh! All it needs now is the quake-style-banter in the chat log, e.g. "player 1 just ate player 2's explosive banana bomb", etc. then this game would be AAAA_FPS_GOTY
I'm generally not a big fan of runner games, but this one has a nice style to it. I love the aesthetics and colors. The music fits well too. Not sure about the theme...but I guess he's running away from the clutters of the industrial world and into a life of minimalism. I'll go with that!
Nice surprise with the intro! I love the graphics, plenty of personality into each creature. I have to agree that it was kinda hard to tell if you're able to hit enemies.
Looking at the screenshots, I really want to try this game out...but I only have windows :(
Wow this is a great entry! I enjoyed just trying to fit as many limbs as I possibly could.
I have to agree that the creature creation needs some more work, but pretty damn impressive for 3 days worth of work!
"You died from the hands of a priest"...I don't know what to say.
Good use of animations on the box, it really felt like I truly died from the hands of a priest.
This is a fun top-down-shooter game, it's nicely presented. Controls are good. I thought the game didn't have much difficulty because you seem to finish each level anyhow. But it looks like the main objective is to prepare yourself to beat the boss in 10 seconds. Nice concept! I don't know if I can get 999 coins for upgrades though :P
Steam chainsword, hell yes!!! I love the pixel art, really distinct and polished! Interesting gameplay around 10-seconds as well, though it felt like it was more of something that got in your way. Overall I had fun playing this game! I manage to beat the boss, ha!
Great use of the game mechanic throughout all the levels, pretty clever. It didn't feel repetitive at all. Nice intro and presentation. Plus your games tend to be pretty challenging...this time I manage to finish it in one playthrough!
Lovely world, I like how dynamic it is as time flows. I like the characters and the fact that each has their own personality. Mad props on using your own engine too!
Now I understand why!
Wow, the pixel art in this game is perfect! Really good! Unique character design. The gameplay is pretty unique as well.
I'm definitely keeping an eye out for the post-compo version!
Pretty charming art, would like to see her walk and attack animation. I really like the idea of random rooms, it kept the game fresh. I suck at timing those disappearing tiles though, mostly because I run out of time.
I had fun playing this game and the randomness is cool! You can expand on this and add the same sort of AI they did from Left4Dead which determines the difficulty based on the player's skill. :P
I got as far as making a pen workable...but I don't think there was anything else. I wish I could give that judge lady her number!
Nice work on the art, it worked well with the low res feel. I like how everything explodes in a bloody mess, it really gives that certain pow to it! Also really catchy tune!
Controls are nice. There doesn't seem to be much consequence when you die though...especially when you grab a chicken and die, you respawn with the chicken still in your mouth.
A hero! Nice work on the random generated rooms, they didn't feel too random at all. The fire was fun to watch as they grow around, I probably shouldn't do that as a fireman!
Would be nice to press a key to continue (like spacebar), rather than using the mouse.
I love the art and aesthetics! Clever use of the game mechanic all throughout, and good take on the theme!
Great game! Very good interactive story!
Really cool game, interesting use of checkpoints as part of the game mechanic. Graphics is great as well, solid game overall!
Nice, I really like the simplicity and execution. I like how there's a level where you are in outerspace. That's a dedicated paparazzi!
I guess some other challenge can be added like needing to focus the camera so the picture doesn't look blurry.
I don't know if possible, but if the game can lock the cursor so that it doesn't scroll out of the game view, that would make controls better.
Maybe in the near future, some neat features:
* As a mobile app, make use of the camera and randomly have Ventolins show up when taking photos! :P
* Google glass support!
* Oculus Rift support!
I like the music, it made running less stressful as runner games tend to be. I tend to get stuck at the top of houses which can be difficult to get out of, but I suppose that's part of the challenge. Overall, a really good running game.
@Brian Stegmann that was a cat? Can we verify this? :P
Timing that jump is so hard, there's no way to know...I guess I'm not trained in the arts of body-guarding! I only got to level 2 :P
I had a good laugh every time that bullet hits the president. Not in a political way, but how ridiculously powerful that shot is. It must be rocket rounds.
Brilliant concept!
Clean fun game, it gets pretty intense. I don't think I can handle more than 5, too much! The red wire is sometimes hard to follow when it is overlapping with the timer, mostly when there's a lot of wires.
Your art brought me here, I love the style! I would love to see more of this!
Hehe, charming take on the theme! I like the character design.
It's a good thing he doesn't overdose on those pills! He also seems to have an endless amount of puke, that's quite the symptom!
My only complaint is, as you mentioned, the character getting snagged on walls.
Linux build is up, let me know if there's an issue with it. I tried with a binary build on windows and it works...hopefully it's the same for Linux!
Thanks a lot for the comments guys, really good feedback! So the general consensus is the movement is slow.
I'm wondering now if the slowness of the character is due to low framerate...I'm going to see if I can have the option to turn off the background effect. That for sure is a performance killer :P
Thanks guys for the comments!
@recursor Hm, more than one bomb may not be an actually bad idea! It might be a funny way to solve a puzzle too, like sacrificing one 'life'. :P
@TobiasW Yeah, I think there should be a way to double jump after wall-jump. I'm pretty sure I removed it because it's giving the player too much vertical movement :P Though maybe I'll have it so that you can jump->wall jump->jump, but not jump->double jump->wall jump->jump.
I've been researching wall jumping by playing games that use them :D The best implementation I found is Meat Boy's, I think the newest version will have a more enjoyable wall-jumping experience. Stay tune!
I'm also considering if checkpoint is a good idea or just make the level shorter, we'll see. But I definitely need to remove the gameover screen so you can continue in-game much faster!
This is a pretty cool snake game, the music fits really well. I feel like I'm looking through a microscope and just watching these things poop and grow...I'm pretty sure those red things are poop :P
One odd thing is when I eat one of those red things, my snake will grow into odd shapes. Not sure if it is a bug or feature.
I like the art, very much your style and interesting take on the theme. I don't know what else to say. :P
Best music game I've played thus far! For some odd reason, I found this entertaining XD
Wow, really good models and animation, it is top-notch!
Audio is great too, I love the voice overs, he really sounds like a barbarian. He looks sad in the main menu though. :P
I guess my only complaint is the attacks didn't feel heavy, but that's just aesthetics. Maybe also a larger area for hit detection. Some variety to his attacks would be nice too. The powerups does make the game interesting.
You have a knack for adding personality to your characters really well.
I saw your blog and read the entire thing, it added an extra appreciation and insight when playing this game :P
Haha, great intro, I had a good laugh! Pretty fun game! Would be nice to start at the level you died when continuing though.
I love the music, it definitely adds to the atmosphere. Pretty cool gameplay. I wish I read the novel before-hand to better appreciate the game!
Haha, I really like the story, it's pretty charming! Good premise as well. The animation is fun to watch, it really conveyed cheering :D
The game pace is slow at start though, but picked up well once you get some good upgrades. This is a pretty good game!
Ha, this really is a satire in regards to politicians! The fact that they are all woodmen too. Good balance of each chosen action as well. I had fun playing!
I love the intro and the music. Also how the bombs are synced with the music, that was a nice touch. I played with a keyboard and mouse, that makes disarming the green ones easy with the left mouse button :)
Wow, great artwork and music! Solid presentation. Also good use of the theme. I purposefully let the chick die just to see what's up with that wolf. :P
Yup, there's a bug when restarting, no safe place to sleep! I cried.
I love the art in this game, really well done! The voices freaked me out though. It's no wonder he looks melancholic. I had a hard time understanding the voices, they might've been a little fast.
Overall clean presentation and well made.
wow, I love the art in this game! Great use of colors, it really captures surrealism. The gameplay is great as well, it's pretty hypnotic as I watch the bird bounce around.
I really love the art and the audio, really gets me in the mood! Once the objective is clear, the game is actually quite simple. But the difficulty of getting all the needed notes got really hard too quick. I got stuck at level 3.
Would be nice to be able to cancel the recording and start over.
Overall, really good game!
I love the mechanics of this game and the art is really nice! Music is nice and soothing, great game overall!
I'm curious, what could be taking so long to load the game? Are you using asset bundle or there's just plenty of resources to load?
So awesome to see a fully realized online multiplayer for LD with such a short amount of time. Kudos to that! Also great use of the 10-seconds theme.
It's also fun to play, provided there are players around. I manage to see one dude who I think is afk? The controls are fine for me.
Only minor complaint I have is the background is too bright and saturated, making it hard to see the translucent platforms. But the art in general is great!
Nice presentation, really clean and slick. I had a relaxing time playing it.
@Tork is right, seems like keeping the ring happy for 10 seconds while spamming it with objects makes you win.
Really good effects in this game, the ambiance is nicely captured. I had trouble initially figuring out how the mechanics in this game work. Despite the fun little intro :P
I love the dark humor in this game, I had a good laugh! Good twist (not the camera)!
Pretty challenging platformer, I had fun playing through it! I like how the screen goes red as time runs out. The sound is also a nice cue, but probably needs a better one.
I'm not sure if it's a bug, but you also only have 10 seconds to edit/make a level :P
Kudos for including a level editor!
omg, yes! I don't think I ever lived until I experienced being a time-warping psychedelic t-rex! Thank you!
Very clever take on the 10-seconds! It's a different kind of challenge! I also love the art, very playful :)
2d platformer rogue-like portal game, it doesn't get any more awesome than that! There were some questionable item placement, then I realized the levels are random :D
I enjoyed playing this game!
Hard game in terms of needing to be precised in moving because of the time limit. I like the way the game introduces the mechanics per level. I can't for the life of me complete level 8...
I love the idea of this game, I had fun. I hope that send button doesn't actually post the story online!
Music is definitely top-notch and humor comes from how you play the game :P
Lovely art and personality in this game, I had a good laugh at some parts and the gameover. I like the wall run, worked well. I have to agree, carrying the cheese one at a time got a little tedious. Maybe also have various drop-off areas? Overall, great work!
Pretty fun runner game, it's more relaxed than stressful. I don't know why, but the character freaks me out :P Minor issue: no way to back out of the about page :P
Wow, this game is really atmospheric. I love the perspective, it really adds to the immersion. The art is good! Great use of the theme as well, it fits perfectly. Also nice touch on the music when you hide behind shadows.
The screenshots doesn't do justice!
I actually started to understand the objective as I talk to the desert people. I just instinctively collect those glowy orbs :P Plus the fact that the golem stands out in the distance really pushed me forward to check it out.
Really good job! The presentation is excellent and the interface is intuitive. The art and audio is great! I can see this being replayable as well, trying to get as much score and as fast as possible.
You guys get an extra humor point for building that website! It even has a presskit!
I really like the art and music in this game, very charming! Very creative presentation as well: the sun and moon display above the screen and the emoticons in the intro. Unique game mechanic.
Great take on the theme too!
I lasted 5 days, I'm a disappointment to Guru-Guru :(
I really like the graphics and mood, poor cat! Occasionally I lose the ability to jump...The controls is a little hard to get used to. Would be nice to slide off boxes than get sticky mid-air..that keeps screwing me up. Overall a pretty cool game!
Wow, I love the effect! It's pretty much an interactive lava lamp! The controls is a little sensitive, I'll have to give this a go on an android and see if it plays better.
Pretty atmospheric, I love the mood in this game. Great audio, fits really well! The game got hard real quick and I wasn't sure if I'm doing well until I realized I got negative score in the end. :P
Nice work on the vector-art, it looked great! The pacing is a little slow for a shoot-em-up though. Needs more things to come at the screen and shoot at you. But those bosses are freaking hard! The boss fights are the fun parts.
Graphics and audio is top-notch, as well as the presentation. The gameplay is pretty smooth too! Same with the comment I left at NG: the controls were a little slippery when placing crates and pressing buttons. Overall this is a well polished game!
I love the art and sprites, there's a nice charm to it. It gives that 90's vibe as well. Music is great, it definitely got me in the mood.
Really good concept, I enjoyed playing it...once I understood what I was suppose to do. Would be nice to be able to reselect the order during select phase or go back to a previous phase.
Fun game! The most fun is when you get the bounce power-up and just raking up kills as you herd all the zombies. I like the lighting effect and nice music.
Awesome take on the rock-paper-scissors! You guys manage to add depth to it! Also, nice presentation. This game feels very complete! I love the art!
It took getting used to the controls, but it becomes more fun after a while.
This game is brutal! But for some reason I didn't want to quit until I at least get one win! I manage 2 levels in a row. I had fun playing this game, really challenging!
I think 10 seconds was too short, or might be better if placing a tile adds a little more delay.
Nice art, clean and crisp! It's kinda hard to place the cogs though, I'm not sure if it's because it doesn't match or the placement needs to be precised.
I love the graphics and animation! The audio also fits perfectly.
I feel like this game would be much better without the 10 seconds limit.
The art drew me here, I really dig it! Made me want to finish the game. But it got very frustrating! Controls are good though. I also like the music, it fits really well!
Wow, that gameover is really mystique and melancholic, I love it! Awesome mechanic with the light and dark switch. I like how the shadows spew out of you as you enter the light regions. The music is great too!
I'm having a hard time following the musical cue when finding friends. Finding the fairies with the knocking sound is fine though.
Interesting mechanic, first figuring out who you are. Not only is it a game about demophobia, but also a lost sense of identity after being a hero in various roles! Yeah, I'll go with that!
Damn, it happens so fast. Is this a statement about a stereotypical guy's attention span? :P
Selecting a response is a little slippery, I sometimes skip one item.
This is a pretty neat game, I feel like there could be a sequel to this :P
Pretty solid game! Quite a lot of content! Seems brutal for only having 2 hits based on the pacing of the game though.
Would be nice for the game to have audio to give that axe-murdering-knight in a mood for slaying.
I love the comic and art! It would be nice to have some audio in there. Great take on the theme.
Haha, thanks to the comments I manage to survive longer! I think it needs some player feedback like if you need a certain tool to do something, etc.
Overall I enjoyed playing the game and it's community driven, ie. survival hints via comments :D
Wow, I love the music in this game, it really got me in the mood. This game really captures the philosophy of life! I took the Buddhism approach and wait it out! :D
Is there a gameover and win?
Wow, graphics is really good! Very rare to see 3d games with good texturing and modelling for LD, because they are pretty hard to do! Mad props to that! I'm also digging the music!
The controls are smooth. But I feel like the ship is suppose to crash to walls though, but then again there's hardly any room to maneuver :P
Ha, mad props for using quantum mechanics for your game! I love the art and the music fits really well!
I feel like this game would be more fun without the 10-second time constraint.
Also great amount of content, well polished game!
Despite being unfinished, I find the art really nice. Very atmospheric. 3D art and lighting looks great!
Wow, that was a sad ending. I tried again and let go of it. I didn't realize how deep this game is! I enjoyed playing this game! Great use of the theme.
I love the atmosphere, the ambiance is really nice! I enjoyed playing this game. I like how subtle the theme is :)
Pretty cool art-style, really captures the exotic atmosphere. The premise is pretty awesome too!
Only complain I have is that there's really no incentives to collect the parts...maybe each level, you need to collect X amount in order to warp out.
Haha, what a great statement to our modern society, really good. Graphics is nice and clean. I love those questions, though some of them I run out of time as soon as I finish reading the question.
Damn this game is difficult, I'm not cut out for this ninja stuff! There's so much to worry about: getting spotted, corpse spot, then 10 seconds time limit! Yikes! Even with the shurikens being able to kill in a straight line. Great visuals and effects! Plus, high replayability. Mad props for a 48-hour game!
Mad props getting this many 3d models in a short amount of time! They look good! I keep getting F though, I don't think she can kill this many monsters by herself! I had fun overall!
I love this game, really fun! I love the rhythm and animation!
Great intro and presentation, I love the character! I will admit it, for the most part I was randomly pressing switches until they all eventually light up! But I manage to finish! yipee!
I'm not ashamed to admit that I played this...and actually got to the end. Controls is actually good :P
Very atmospheric, great audio and music fits well. Nice take on the theme as well. I really like the psychedelic mode! It was very difficult to die though, I had to for the most part do it on purpose.
I really like this game, nice online implementation! Art is nice and clean. Now I know how cats feel when trying to chase a laser pointer, it also drove me mad!
The best part for me is just watching the explosion and things flying off in different direction. There's also some good game mechanics as well, like finding a way to hide and dodging debris. I really love the premise of this game, really unique! Also, nice interface!
Great humor and very interesting take on the theme! I played the post-compo to finish the game some more, thank you for the skip dialog :)
When I saw the picture of the cat while browsing the entries, I knew right away I have to play this game. I have no regrets!
I'll have to play this again to get to the end.
I love the art throughout, and omg, the music is so good!
The gameplay might've been overly simplistic, but the hypermode makes it fun.
I love the art and the game mechanic works really well. It's polished. I had a lot of fun!
Yes! Carl Sagan, you are my hero! I enjoyed every fraction of a second in this game! Great presentation!
