Was a good game but would be nice to have some kind of introductory level even if it was just slightly slower, I found myself dying almost instantly the first time I played it.
Like the idea of collecting bananas, and gameplay was fun once you got the hang of it. Good job :)
One of my favourite games this round, nice and simplistic, fits the theme nicely, love the level editor!
Great entry :)
Wow this is a lot of content for just 48 hours.
It would help if the tutorial was a little bit more detailed and had the ability to pause so you could take time to read the console, but on the whole a nice fun game, good job :)
org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Could not locate OpenAL library.
(Running Linux)
Other than the above which meant I had no sound it was a pretty fun game, although a restart key would be good in case you get stuck behind a rock piece that you can't break.
Other than that it was pretty fun. Good job :)
If I wasn't so rushed to finish my own game and actually added some comments this is probably what they would be like.
Really fun to play, my favourite has to be the possible bug comment level. I didn't think there was anything particularly wrong with the sensitivity but oh well :p
Also +1 for hidden levels commented out in the source code! :p
Wish there were more levels. Loved the title screen.
Playing under linux, was getting a solid 60 fps as expected.
Was pretty fun, but I had a tendency to die almost instantly. :/ Nice to see a game with good audio, I liked it :)
Fit the theme well and was a good concept. The physics was extremely well done and the audio was really nice :)
This was surprisingly simple and fun, also loved the audio.
A respectable 50 points on my second attempt.
Nice game :)
I don't entirely get it but the audio and graphics were really nice, I think I might just leave it on as background music... :)
AHAHAHA this was amazing. My new favourite. Loved the sound as well.
Reminds me of a simple lemmings game, simple game mechanic but very fun (if a little slow paced) to play.
My only suggestions are to add speed control and more levels. :)
Most hilarious thing I've found so far, amazing... xD
Looks like a fun game, it's a shame the Linux version won't run.
Getting this error: http://pastebin.com/TwH2CUta
I'll check back in a bit to see if there's any fix.
Good luck :)
Nevermind about my previous comment, I just downloaded the source and compiled it myself with no problems whatsoever.
This was actually really fun, I have no idea whether my score of around 7000 or so is any good :p
It's a shame it didn't work the first time, not sure how many people would be patient enough to compile it themselves in order to play. Definitely worth it though, my favourite so far :)
@tiffi Nice catch, turns out I'm using 1.6. Oh well, I guess I ought to update that some time today... :p
This is indeed minimal :p
I like how it actually forces you to explore a little before you begin pushing, unfortunately I'm not patient enough for this game...
Would be good to have an actual win message, although the javascript console is close enough :)
From the comment's I'm assuming the continued movement of the player was not intentional? I kind of liked having that choice actually, especially when I started to get impatient and realised I would just end up dying. Patience is key :)
Was still fun to play though :)
@Mythalore
Sorry I completely forgot to mention that in the tutorial. If you don't get attacked for a certain amount of time your health begins to recharge. :/
@Andrei
I was wondering whether or not to include one, I didn't really want to make the window too congested with stats but I could make it part of the pause menu in a later version.
Thanks for the comments everyone. :)
@The Consul, I'm not sure why but that sometimes happens in the web version. Assuming you ARE trying the web version, I would highly recommend downloading the jar as it's much easier to play :)
@Tifu: Yeah I understand what you are talking about, I was testing it and had the same problem but couldn't think of how to fix it since the player isn't always at the middle of the screen. :/
@DST: Thanks, luckily I didn't make any mistakes while coding that bit of it else I would've spent ages trying to fix it. :)
Side note: Your game link appears to be broken.
Once I actually figured out how to start the game by clicking it was actually pretty fun, although the collision detection seems kinda broken and once my character decided to become a block (~so I travelled the world outside the confines of the level~), but if you managed to fix the bugs it would probably be decent. I liked the art style and the audio.
Okay so apparently the game was slowing down intentionally, which was otherwise kinda weird.
Was fun to play, but I found myself not really caring about the other paddles after a while. After three there's too many to really focus on, and if you're using the mouse like I was the speed to move the paddle to where any other paddle would be was minimal anyway.
Liked the idea of gathering energy though and the graphics were cool, needed a potato :)
I liked how minimalist the graphics were, but sometimes the text seemed a bit too slow and it would have worked well with some kind of bgm.
Interesting game though :)
When I try to run the Linux version of your game, it immediately terminates with "There is no data folder". :/
Confirming Linux version now works.
I liked the audio, but after dying a few times it began to get slightly repetitive. It would have been nice if the player didn't die if they hit the top of the blocks, which I think caused the majority of my deaths.
Fits the theme well though, nice and simple scoring system which is always nice :)
Yep, I successfully procrastinated on that one.
Nice and simple, fits the theme well :)
I liked the intro bit and the idea. Graphics were cool but the player's speed kinda frustrated me. Other than that it was fun! :)
I found that sometimes the dragging mechanic didn't work if you weren't quick enough, which ended up killing me on one or two occasions.
Other that that it was pretty fun, combos (suggested earlier) would be pretty cool. The graphics are really nice.
Nice game :)
Fun game, shame there aren't more levels :)
It's a shame there wasn't any way that I knew of to restart the game from the same level if you died without refreshing the entire page and walking through everything again. +1 for using potato references, was pretty fun overall :)
This has got to be the best graphics I've seen so far. Great job! :)
That was hilarious. The transitions are really nice, but I wish there were more levels and a checkpoint system. Instructions in the game are usually a good idea as well :)
Good game nonetheless :)
Really liked the graphics and audio, 10 seconds just isn't long enough for me :(
Couldn't stop laughing from the north trick at the beginning xD Great game!
I got stuck on the level with the four trolls and two beholders as well but it was really fun up until then. The graphics are awesome.
It's really a shame there's no AI, that ending made it all worth it though :p
This was actually pretty fun, I didn't realise just how long I'd been playing it for... Good job! :)
I loved the audio for this entry, really well done.
The map is quite large, it would be nice for there to be some kind of hint in some rooms or something like that or some minor treasure to help you. Really good work though, the eyes kept killing me :(
If I wasn't making my game by myself, I would probably run out of time just trying to resolve those pesky conflicts xD.
Looks awesome, I'll be back once voting starts!
I don't know what it is about this game, I kind of enjoyed the tiny window xD
Still pretty fun to play. Good job!
Not sure why my weapon was randomly switching sometimes, but once I figured out you could change weapon with the right mouse button that wasn't much of an issue.
Other than that, it's really well made, I didn't really have any problem with the control scheme (although my high-score of nine begs to differ *sigh*). Good job! :)
Thanks for all the replies!
@stephan_h: Did you try pressing T? That should have paused time so you could actually do stuff. I spent so long messing about in that editor it took me a while to remember I should actually tell people how to use it :/
@ZeppelinCaptain: I'm not sure if it's within the rules, I'll probably just not add any of my own new levels until after the end of the compo voting just to be safe. And yeah, I wish I had the imagination of some of the other people doing this... :(
@Spaceoff: Haha, I have no clue either, the music was absolutely the worst part of those 48 hours, really annoyed I didn't get the chance to actually record something (now wishing I knew how to play an instrument...). I guess at least it being randomly generated lowers the file size?? :/
@DaVince: I've probably forgotten to deallocate the sound memory :/ Thanks, I'll have a fix up in a bit! :)
@ddionisio: you need to press T to disable the timer! :)
I found it really difficult to time my jumping, but it was really fun once you got up to speed. :)
Good game :)
Interesting game, love the gravity shifting. Straight forward enough, I liked it! :)
Very addicting to play, my fingers do not thank you for this entry xD
Fun game, it's a shame it's constrained to 10 seconds really... either that or I'm just terrible xD.
Good job nonetheless :)
Yay Linux version!
Liked the graphics and audio, good game overall! :)
This was weirdly relaxing to play, kind of nice really...
Would have been nice to have been able to skip the countdown if I had already told my servants what to do.
The graphics and audio were amazing! :)
This was one of my favourite games so far. I didn't think it was too difficult, although it definitely took some getting used to. Really liked the concept!
There are a few glitches with running into walls that then become impossible to get out of (the ones on level two and the first level with the plunger things are the ones I got stuck on), but other than that it's really well made.
Great job! :)
This was really fun, it's kind of difficult to get the hang of but really enjoyable once you get into it. Nice game :)
That was one of the most enjoyable games I've played so far.
I really enjoyed the style of everything and how one side is really fast paced while the other not so much. The audio was really well done too!
A minor bug, I managed to get behind the house and walk under the map to the next level :/ Not sure if that was intentional. Didn't detract from the gameplay at all though so no worries :)
Great game! :)
Difficulty aside, it is actually pretty fun once you get past the first 15 or so levels. Nice and simple, I like it :)
Linux audience here! :)
Not bad, would've liked to see more levels, the artwork was fun though so I don't mind too much. My fingers hurt... :/
I can't help but love that death animation, it's amazing :)
It's a shame there's only one level, it was actually pretty fun although I never actually ran out of time (I died a lot...) :/
The camera movement when you were going left or right was kind of weird but I got used to it. Still a good game regardless :)
Bomb defusing is indeed fun, not sure if I like the penalty of having to sit through the intro all over again though. That, and apparently I just have terrible luck :/
Good game nonetheless :)
Hah this was actually pretty fun. I need a better mouse if I'm going to do well on the hardest difficulty though :(
Good game nonetheless!
Audio and graphics were awesome, got annoyed at myself for leaving the tools so far away! xD
Great entry :)
Liked the idea but most of the levels were pretty easy. Liked the graphics and audio a lot though :)
Good entry!
