Really really neat graphics wise, but there isn't really much gameplay involved ;/

The presentation is good and the music is charming, gj!
I guess I'm just bad at point & click games, because I couldn't get further than picking up the weapon :/
The aesthetic and graphics are really nice though
This game brings back some nostalgia from those oldschool gamesystems that looked like gameboys, but could only play very simple games with simple graphics.
Definitely liking aesthetic execution with the graphics style and resolute audio!
The controls feel very hard and squarish, maybe you could have made them a bit more floaty? The overall aesthetic is really cool though, especially when you get deep down ;)
Really really great experience overall, although ut feels more like a sorta deep experience rather than a game.
Quite challenging, fun nonetheless!
10/10 Really fun & innovative game, especially liked the immersion of being a complete maths maniac desperately planning to kill the good guy!
Very funny idea, but sort of a poor execution. I guess it had something to do with only using ½ of the available time ;)
Both cool & simple at the same time.
The graphics on the bubbles are great ;)
The overall presentation is very nice, but the game's difficulty just doesn't increase rapidly enough (if it even does). I got bored to death after getting to something like 270k points, and not seeing decreased intervals of word collection...
For me it was too much of a series of quick-time events for it to be an actual game, some parts also seemed to take a bit too long time.
The graphics style was nice though!
Really really liking the presentation and aesthetic of this game! The graphics style is really rad, and the simple but yet challenging and fun gameplay makes it really enjoyable to play.
great graphics style! played this on my android device.
Really nice animation on the nuke :DDDDDDD Loving the turrets too, they seem really dynamic and smooth.
Couldn't get anything to happen.
It was quite enjoyable for the short while it lasted... The game crashed on the second level for some reason, but nice idea ;)
Really enjoyable game and cool graphics/sound effects. I couldn't deduce what was happening at the end though, is it intentional that a tree slams you down?
A nice interpretation of the theme, I must say, but I fear the game lacks a little to much actual gameplay and control for me to really love it.
Was kinda enjoyable, but had to quit due to the annoyance of having one city left with 22 defense...
Really nice gameplay and a great graphics style, 13/10 another boware epic sotry!
Really enjoyable game with awesome graphics & physics! Another boware epic sotry 13/10

The idea is pretty cool and the gameplay is flawless. The graphics really shook the game down just a bit ;/
Couldn't get past the level with the women in the green clothing. Really cool chain reaction mechanic though!
Really really fun to play. The turning was a bit awkward, but the graphics style and the bloody nature of the game made up for it ;)
Really really cool game, I love the planning aspect ;) The game lacks a really complex level though!
Fun little game. played it on my android np.
It was quite hard to get past the levels with 3+ spaceships though.
Does anyone know if I am allowed to fix the bugs regarding collision detection at medium-low framerates after the compo has ended?
Your game turned out quite well too Darkfrost, if I should say so myself ;)
@Everyone Else, I totally recognize the learning curve problems, and level 1-0 definitely shouldn't be the first level to encounter after the tutorial level. But rushed content is rushed content ;/
Really loved the visual style and music, it made me smile. ^_^
Stylish and fun, good job! ~
It would've been cool if the frequency of the flashes was a bit higher, I found myself becoming impatient and just jumping off to die at times. (;
Otherwise cool idea, good job! ~
AMAZING
It isn't too cluttered and has a nice finish. The game accomplishes what it tries to do very well, even if it is a bit simplistic. Good job with the soundtrack, it rounds the game of quite nicely. (:
Really cute graphics style & music, it made some real cool aesthetics. Liked it! (;
I found the game to be too repetitive after the first couple of levels, and I didn't bother to continue playing. Maybe the game could have used some sort of ambient soundtrack?
Good job on the minimalism though! ~
Extremely poetic concept and adorable design, loved every bit of it.
While the game went on I pictured myself as some sort of a leader who made people hook up with eachother, and feared that there ironically would be noone left for me. :c
Luckily the ending was way better than that, good job! ~
I liked the idea a lot and the sound effects were real' nifty, but the 'soundtrack' itself was really a bummer imho, you could've done without that. ^_^
I also missed a bar of some sort or just any kind of indication of how much force I put on the cannon, it was hard to judge for yourself how long you had to press to cover a certain distance.
Good job! ~

It was a fair experience, music would've done a thing or to make the game more interesting.
The choppyness of the movement is quite odd though, might I recommend that you use something like y=sin(a); 0<=a<PI for vertical bouncing in the future? (:
So loveable! <3
I thought the game was lagging when I heard the music for the first time. xD
Nice overall experience, had some issues here and there with players getting 'stuck' when jumping vertically up into walls, but that's about it.
Good job! ~
I got 77 on my second attempt. Fun & challenging game, it kept me entertained for a couple of minutes. (;
2deep4me :/
Are the shadows rendered real-time? If they are, there's such a huge amount of potential wasted by not making something move in front of the light sources, it's almost sad. :/
The ambience was really cool though, and I was not affected by the dizzying effects, excellent job!
Really tight controls, I like it!
I gave up at level 19 because my timing is whack. xD
Clean finish, good job! ~
The visuals were great, but the 'chiptune soundtrack' was kinda dull, could you have done better?
Really cute game! I remember playing your game last LD, nice reference! (;
I'm pretty sure this is the weirdest game I've played this LD, yet. The game has severe collision issues, and it was really hard not to get frustrated about getting stuck in walls and the like. I also got thrown off the moving platform from time to time.
Nice idea and art style, too bad it's on the verge of unplayable.
Super awesome graphics. Also <3 AJ
It was too laggy for me, almost unplayable :/
I like the idea, I just think it might have needed a bit more time to develop itself. (;
I didn't get it until I started frantically clicking on everything, and then realizing that clicking on the birds >improved< my perception. Neat game, could've used some audio. q:
Very neat art style, quite captivating!
The concept is simple, but it's beautifully executed.
Don't spoil the whole story in the description next time. (;
Good job otherwise, I liked the concept! ~
As an avid rhythm gamer I was really disappointed when the hardest the game gets, is a new note every other beat. I want 1/6's and 1/2's :<
Good job though, hilarious idea! (:
Played this on my way to school on Android, and I made it to the 210th wave on my third try. Also tried it on the PC just to see the difference.
The game is well presented and the graphics have a clean finish, but the pacing seems kinda off. The start can be very hectic, but when you get a decent base esatblished, you just sit there and wait with $500+ in your inventory to spend on nothing in particular.
It could definitely have used some more expenesive upgrades to drain your cash. With a little more polish, I think this could become a great game! (:
So WHACK!
I got stuck after returning the boob to the naked lady, though. I picked up the cord beforehand, but couldn't give it to the showman after returning the boob, might be a bug? o:
Really neat idea, good job! ~
I couldn't get past the loading screen for some reason. Firefox user.
I got to play the game after coming home from school:
I really loved the setup, although I think the intro would have benefited from using Pixel-Perfect scaling on the man's face, instead of smoothing it out gradually, that's a personal preference though.
The gameplay was neat too, but I don't get why you implented the crouching mechanic for the white ninja, because you can't dodge anything with it q:
Playing as the greek character was a mixed experience, it was hard to know when you got hit, and when you hit something. It would have been nice to know how much HP you had left.
Good job, I wait in anticipation for your submission next Ludum Dare. (;
I didn't quite grasp the controls, when and why do you attack? It felt as if there was too much delay from pressing the mouse button to something actually happening, and I missed some audio feedback. hm.
Very cool idea, could've used a bit of music though. ^^
I don't know what to think. Bobby died, seems like he's having a tough day :/
This game is so incredibly aesthetically pleasing, I really love it. And the music as well, so lovely and joyful, 10/10.
My only with the game is, that it takes far to long for the speed to ramp up. I would've loved to see it go about 3-4 times faster (maybe in a speed mode).
Excellent job! ~
Fuck, I forgot to mention the butterflies. HOLY HELL THOSE BUTTERFLIES ARE AMAZING OwO
Real nice atmosphere you got going in your game!
Is there a reason you opted to use smoothed-out scaling on some objects like the player and trees, and not on the pigs/walls? I think that choosing one style would have improved the graphics somewhat.
Good job otherwise! ~
I liked the graphical finish a lot, and the audio was really calming. Nice concept! Good job on the particle system as well, it was really neat. ~
I couldn't seem to get the game working with my XBOX 360 controller for some reason. :/
Other than that it's quite a fun game, enjoyed the explosions! ;D
Cool ideas, but a bit too hard to precision-move with a controller in my honest opinion. :/
WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST PLAY? WHY DID IT JUMPSCARE ME?
The game restarted every time I pressed a button on my controller? :/
I really liked the concept of the game, but I think it would've benefited from shifting the focus to either spelling words or shooting everything. It was far too challenging to spell words when there was 20+ chars on the screen, and they literally spawn 30~ pixels away from you at times, which makes you end up just dying.
I liked the simple graphics & audio though, everything goes well with the theme. ^_^
Good job! ~
Really needs to ramp up the difficulty at some point. In its current state it's very relaxing, but I don't think that's the idea. (;
I loved the game, really great concept.
Two gripes though; the motion blurring killed my framerate, would've been nice to be able to turn it off. And in the original entry the magnets didn't seem to work correctly, for some reason I just stood on the ground and slid towards the center of the room.
The game lacks sound and music, those two components would make it so much more enjoyable. :/
Other than that, the effect are really cool and the way the 'physics' work is amazing!
Good job! ~
*robotic voice*BOOM CHA KA LA KA
In tears x3
Nice concept, lacks audio :/
The puzzle element was really solid though, liked it a lot!
I played the Android version, and I found it very enjoyable. The animation on the character is great, especially when you land on the ground, and the music is extrextremely cheerful.
good job!
Haha, such a great game. Loved the music and such a wonderful graphics style. The narration in the end was also a very nice touch. For some extra oomph though, you could've dragged the 'boss'-fight out a tad longer and gave him a couple more lives, maybe added some screen shake and explosion effect. (;
Excellent job! 10/10 ~
I love the insane amount of attention to detail. The particles, the gentle screen-shake, the small text-objects that pop up when something happens. Simply wonderful!
Beautiful game, so relaxing and thoughtful. Loving it!
Is the game supposed to crash after the screen fades to black in the fireplace scene?
If it is intentional, then this is probably the most feel-evoking game I've played thus far.
Dat feel. :c
The cutscenes were hilarious and the music was awesome.
I found it quite hard to properly control the character on level 1 though, I don't know if it was just too floaty or something of the like.
The Llama just adds something special, good job! ~
TOO TRICKY
The mechanic is nice, but I have a really big caveat with the camera movement. Is there any specific reason you chose not to center it on the player? As it is now, it's impossible to judge where thing are going to be after you jump from a side of the screen, and shots just appear out of nowhere to kill you.
The controls are also way too floaty in my opinion, it's really hard to do precision platforming this way.
Good job elsewise! ~
Where the gayms at?
I couldn't get the game running on Windows XP (Error: Not a valid Win32-program)
Having to start over from level 1 each time I got stomped killed the game for me. :/
How do you get to the squirrel? :c
Ah I figured it out with help from the dev. ^_^
Such an adorable game, I can't but love it. The graphics and sound creates a very cutesy aesthetic which just makes you wanna squeal. Simply baffling.
Excellent job! ~
Quite a gamebreaking bug: http://imm.io/14mjH
The music was sorta indifferent, but the graphics had a nice retro feel. Simple but solid controls. Okay.
This is a really really cool concept, and a perfect example that great games do not need great graphics. I really enjoyed animation on the tails of objects, and the game was exceptionally smooth and fast-paced.
Excellent job! ~
Not the minimalists!
Really liked the player sprite. ^^
The crafting system was a cool idea, but it needs some refinement. It felt way more clunky than it needed to.
Too pretentious and too little of a game in my opinion.
I can throw trees in this game. 10/10
Yaaayy graphics :DD
Also.. YOU take a potato!
Such a great & touching game.
Do not get discouraged by the art style, once you get used to it, it has its very own unique charm.
The music was also spot on.
Loved it, excellent job! ~
To me, having the more serious nature of the game in mind, the jumping animation seemed a bit too frantic and -well- jumpy in my opinion, compared to the walking animation.
Also the walljumping frustrated me to the point where I couldn't endure the game any longer. Good job on the graphics and audio, the mechanics need a bit of work though.
Haha, I always seem to forget, that the people that play the game aren't the ones who designed it. (;
The game is meant to be unfair. At first it seems like you are in control of how well you do, you can dodge the first couple of squares quite easily, but as the game progresses and it gets more and more hectic, and no matter how hard you try, you will always lose. Thus, your efforts are in vain.
No hard feelings (;
Let me skip the dialogue.
Really hard!
Oddddd
10/10 would shoot again
Setup made me sad D:
Came back after you added the exe, not a bad concept. ^^
Really nice graphics!
Was pretty scary with reduced brightness, but the space developer command ruined it.
Also I didn't get it.
Didn't manage to find more than 54$ D:
Loved the splash screens
A bit bland but a fun puzzler nonetheless, could use more levels.
@joppiesaus You broke the level editor? o:
Even I haven't managed to do that. :/
save.txt contains the level, if it corrupts you probably won't be able to play. Just delete it and load up the level editor again.
@tommakesgames That's the Visual C++ 2013 Runtime ;)
@olafsworld98 No you're right, it's a really bad title. But I was so frustrated with myself and the game that I didn't really care about its name, next LD you can expect something better. ;)
@sam1373 Recently moved from VS2008 -> VS2013, not used to people not having the required binaries. My error.
@Nelien Hehe, I love programming stuff from the ground up compared to using something like Unity or a premade engine, and it's not like I usually have trouble finishing games within the 48h time frame. There just happened to be a Christmas lunch this LD weekend which sucked up my second day of the jam, so that made it quite hard to finish something other than a quick prototype. ;D
Simply astonishing! One of my favs this LD
Wow, this game was hard. Once I found the boss I forgot everything I had remembered about the map and drove around wildly. I think I managed to kill it with two lives left. :)
Really nice game with excellent graphics! Loved the concept as well
Wow. Can't but love a fat Squary Bass;
Props for using C++ & SFML. ;)
That said, using an installer is really not a good way to distribute your game in Ludum Dare.
The game needs something to speed up the gameplay though, maybe adding powerups, faster movement or varied attacks would solve the issue?
Shameless plug for SFML Extension: https://github.com/BarrensZeppelin/BZeps-SFML-Snippets
The tree mechanic is actually really genious.
This game is really cute and I've convinced myself that there's a deeper meaning behind it.
Animations are awesome and the audio is excellent.
My only negative would be the difficulty, it feels a bit too easy. 10/10 would play again
I liked the idea and the game was fun, but it was really mind-bending control. :)
Pretty sure I've seen that explosion before though ;^)
Bagjumping doesn't feel right. :/
Other than that, a great game with a great story! :)
Nice graphics and sound too!
ALSO SO FRUSTRATING 102 DEATHS OMG
It's really annoying that the turrets all forcus the same target, makes it really hard to get far in the game. /:
Really hectic once you get the hang of it. Neat idea and great execution!
This game is amazing!
The physics and camera control gives me the UT99 feel, perfect! The level design reminds me of Portal. The concept and execution is near perfect.
I'm astonished that you managed to make this within 48 hours.
Also that laugh is the best thing in the world
This game is ****ing great! Loved it so much, couldn't wait for each new character to appear. :D
The music fit perfectly as well. One of my favourites this LD so far. ;)
I liked the mechanics and graphics, but is it intentional that you can't complete a jump about two minutes into the game?
Why can I buy stuff from traders and people who want to help me with money I don't have? o:
Loved the take on the rhythm game genre, and the music and voice acting is really good. :)
Actually harder than you would think. :)
The idea is fun, but I found the game to be lagging a bit, and it was really hard to put the center of the screen onto the vira. :(
Cool and small game. :)
The idea is interesting!
Definitely works in Win8 Desktop.
Liked the graphics :)
Really cool game, and extra creds for programing it in C++ ;^)
The graphics are incredibly neat and the sounds fit in perfectly. Of course it could've gone on longer with more variation, but it's really good for 48 hrs. :)
Wow this game is hard!
Nice mechanics tough, liked it very much.
I downloaded the jar from the web link due to the applet being security, it didn't work. The jar link here "worked" though, except that I lagged so hard I couldn't play the game, or at least any time I shot.
I don't think it's my machine, as it's a pretty high-end desktop computer.. :/
Fun and simple :)
Would've liked the controls to be a little more responsive. Maybe it's just a lack of air control?
Damn, only 231 seconds. ;)
Really fun game, great execution!
890 score! :)
The sounds are hilarious and the graphics are cute :D
It's so hard though!
Cool! Enjoyed the music too
Good job! The character reminds me very much of Commander Video in Runner 2. :)
I liked the game, but I don't understand why you didn't implement the ability to move in all 8 directions.
I don't know why, but I had to restart 5 times before getting a level where I wasn't stuck from the beginning. o:
Eh?
Wow! So much to explore!
Great game, astonished that you made this within 72 hours ;)
I got stuck pretty quick, maybe because I dropped to 0 gold?
Nice concept! Props for making the online multiplayer work
Really nice mechanics in this one. Great job on the pathfinding and raycasting! :)
The game crashed when I died though. :/
You can run it on windows on the commandline with:
java -jar DebugDungeon.exe
Nice mechanics! Feels really solid, although I have no idea what causes the ball to curve. ^^
Thanks. I'll try to track down the nasty bug, and I guess I should've made it more clear, that you actually have to return to your nest.
@Madball Appreciate the comment. ;)
I can't seem to reproduce the bug though, will look further into it during the day. :(
Regarding difficulty, I totally agree that it's way too hard. I guess I've sinned the usual Ludum Dare sin.. After playing for 48 hours, you get quite good at the game.. ;)
Surprised that you actually seem to enjoy the game. ^^
@Sri Harsha Chilakapati
Added a zip just for you. ;)
@SirJavaGaming
The game is indeed way too hard. :(
I was planning to add this windy sound, that had its volume changing according to the wind force, but I just never got around to it..
@angela
That's a great idea actually, that would definitely have solved a small part of the difficulty level. :)
@Mike Mezhenin
Owh. I should probably have added some sort of in-game tutorial. I usually do that for LD games, don't know why I forgot it this time. :(
(For reference, the orange bar can be refilled by eating fish.)
@Jim Haslett
Is this the Mac port? o:
@Caliber_Project
Thanks for the nice feedback. :)
I think I missed my original thought of the hurricane being predictable in some sort of GUI way, and made it the annoying loss-of-control feature that it is right now. Right now you get punished for playing the game.
@xaedes Happy that you cared to try both versions. :)
If you used the full WASD-Control scheme the online scoring is not supposed to work, as it is a bit easier to control and thus unfair to put against the scores of people who used the original control scheme. ^^
Thanks!
@schnerble You're definitely right in the things you say. I should probably have tweaked the underwater mechanic in the Post-Jam version too.
I think the right edge simply is a design flaw. It's really poorly implemented anyhow.
Thanks!
@freaknarf I'm thrilled you liked it! And about the glitches, do you mean screen shake? Screen shake is pretty easy to achieve if you have some sort of camera functionality implemented in your graphics library. Simply offset the center of the camera by a random (small) amount each frame while still keeping track of the actual center. This is of course a really simple solution. There are a lot more complex and elaborate methods out there. :)
@ShellfishGames We must've watched the same documentary ;)
Pretty hard to control. Maybe you could've let us shoot with the mouse? :)
Nice graphics and sound though, neat little game. ;)
