LD26 — Minimalism

Defense of the corrupted Pixels by YSelf Tool 2013-04-30T13:51:00

While it was a bit confusing at first, it was a good time to play once you got rolling. I didn't come to fully understand some of the different effects of the corrupted pixels (I call flames) or the stats during the course of the game, but I did have fun being a bit strategic and having both waves going towards each other. I would think with expansions this could be built upon to be more fun.

Super Cowbell Text Adventure by Joeslayer97 2013-04-30T11:31:00

Game is fun, though found a bit confusing at first (with exactly what to type) and I found it more fun actually with the map. Obviously minimal, but there was some fun RPG/grinding in the text-based game. I feel there could of been some more ways to interact with everything, or more of a story even, but for what it is it was a surprisingly fun time.

FreeFall by midgard 2013-05-20T02:08:00

While I think that some music could go a long way as well as maybe making more to the game than going through loops, I adored the graphic style, I loved the concept, and it was a fairly charming title.

Car Lancers by jwolf 2013-04-30T10:20:00

A very neat and fun concept! I only was able to play with myself this time, but I could see this being a lot of fun with a friend. If expanded, it also could make a wonderful sort of miniature game. Music was great for the type of game it was, and would say that it has potential to be grown upon. Definitely a fun and original experience that was very simple. I would say though there maybe should be a way to determine who wins a bit more as it wasn't always clear before the score popped up. Adding some extra 'satisfaction' to winning could probably add a lot.

This is not a minimalist game by Volute 2013-05-20T03:23:00

A very fun entry! Had quite a bit of charm, mood, and humor, and was interesting, though at a couple instances I didn't find the solution before consulting the walkthrough. Even made me think a small bit. Quite enjoyed.

People by BenW 2013-04-30T15:01:00

It was a happy game in my eyes, though to understand exactly the point took me a small bit of time. It was fun though, and the sound added a whole lot to the experience. How fun it was might be a bit questionable, it definitely did its minimalistic qualities quite nicely, but it rounded itself out with a good mood that made it a rather charming experience.

Ad Astra Per Aspera by getRandomName() 2013-04-30T13:20:00

Unfortunately the same here, the website is down.

Where therefore we go by pjchardt 2013-05-20T04:02:00

An interesting letter tale. I kind of wish the limited direction this was used a bit more, and with some further developing this could be something interesting, but enjoyed it regardless.

RedShot by Jellycakes 2013-04-30T11:39:00

The room concept was really cool and helped add a lot to the experience. The shooting mechanics were fun, and I do enjoy crowd-management in shooters, but I felt how the enemies randomly phase into existence in the arena took a lot away from the experience. I felt if you saw them coming it would add a lot more to the game. That all said, I had a fun time with it, and think if it was expanded it could be something very fun in ones past-time. I think maybe expanding both the shooter and 'waiting room' elements could strike a great balance.

Rock Paper RPG by Jan Marcano 2013-04-30T21:19:00

A wonderfully simple and fast-paced game of R,P,S. While maybe some things could be added, it has a good amount of charm and is executed nicely. A great take on the minimalism theme.

To What End? by Shugor 2013-04-30T22:13:00

Definitely is hard, but it was interesting. Kind of made me think of Binding of Isaac, though the gel thing was interesting.

Office Escape by Bouyer 2013-04-30T13:18:00

Unfortunately I cannot rate as the game only gives me a black screen.

Minigames Octacade by bvanschooten 2013-05-20T02:50:00

While not really original, it was still a fun ride.
A bit shoddy, but the variety of retro games is nice.

Minimum Score by shatterhand 2013-04-30T18:32:00

Anti-score game, though really a score game as the goal is still to collect things, just the things you're collecting for score are typically bad things. Not bad, and the music was nice. Also, hearts everywhere.

Of Guards And Thieves by cominu 2013-04-30T22:02:00

A fun and surprisingly well detailed multiplayer game. It somewhat reminded me of Monaco, though a bit limited, it has potential to be good fun with friends. It's nice to see the net code seems fairly stable, and was a bit of fun to play.

Don't Smash The Vase by CryoGenesis 2013-04-30T16:04:00

The pot mechanic was cool and a bit fun to play with, but the actual gameplay was a bit more 'hug the wall'. Still, it took a minimalist idea and really delivered well in an interesting control scheme and a nice pot mechanic. I feel that if the game was stage-based, less maze-like and more obstacle-puzzle like, it would have been a more enjoyable experience.

Haunted Dojo by ramoncb 2013-04-30T21:34:00

A nice looking game, but it feels there could be more depth, and I did run into a screen-lock glitch that wouldn't let me continue. Still, the animation and dark/light coloring were quite appealing.

LD26 by Threef 2013-04-30T18:28:00

Does it end on the white screen? Sound effects were kind of annoying, but the game controlled fine. Not much up my alley, but shows good effort. Not really too innovative, but it does get the job done.

Life & Minimalism by WiseGAMER 2013-04-30T19:02:00

While in some ways maybe a bit cheesy, and a bit simplistic, I did find it fun and working well with the themes. While not all levels were created equally in difficulty (and none are especially difficult), it's a charming game that is intriguing while it lasts. Feels there could be more done for actual gameplay and possibly a way to deliver in or home more on its message of change of perspective. Still though, charming would be the word I would choose to describe it.

Fiyahfawl by skintkingle 2013-04-30T11:09:00

I am assuming this is partially randomly generated, which is cool, but I felt there was a lot missing from the title. I got an axe, but after that I went exploring and got too far from the shop to head back. I think there would be a better way to make this more fun/engaging, and to lead the player. The randomly generated world is cool, but also having no shops makes it no worthwhile to really go out and adventure into it.

Dropblocks by Doctor Broccoli 2013-04-30T17:31:00

Didn't fully understand the anchor blocks, as nothing seemed to happen when I released blocks around it. Feels it could be better with some audio, and maybe more things to interact/do or a more 'destructive' feeling.

Less is More by Joror 2013-05-20T04:45:00

Interesting launching mechanic and liked a lot of the small touched. I did reach the thing, but nothing happened... Ah well, intriguing but a bit confusing and empty feeling.

16 by Xaychru 2013-04-30T19:17:00

A nice sort of rave-themed coin collecting game, the magnets make it a bit too easy but it still is a satisfying experience collecting the coins, and have a good sound effect and visual style to it to keep it interesting. Power-ups are a plus still, and it can be a fairly addicting title. Simplistic, but the style is really what is more interesting about it rather than how fun it is.

Minimal Theory by ENP 2013-05-20T05:27:00

While not really 'fun', it was interesting and I enjoyed some of the humor and voice acting.

Serendipity by AnnaGavaldaKedavra 2013-05-20T03:04:00

...I didn't get it.

Out of darkness by Harsay 2013-04-30T18:55:00

An interesting on lighting and exploration. The randomly generated dungeons are fun, however though there isn't much to it outside of walking around, hitting walls, and making the screen brighter. Works wonderfully for the minimalistic style of the competition, but also feels there could be more to make the experience fun. Getting caught up in a large dungeon definitely takes a while, though it is cool how you can scale it through player choice. An interesting lighting experience, but not really to fun as a game.

<Title> by rukbotto 2013-05-20T01:39:00

While it fits well with the theme of minimalism, I think you could make the stages more fun if you could see a bit and designed the mazes a bit more intricately so it didn't just turn into a face-wall planting simulator.

Escape by caasi 2013-04-30T10:57:00

I tried for a small bit, just watched grey change tones a lot at seemingly random intervals. Didn't really figure it out, and wasn't really having fun with it. It certain was minimalistic, though.

Minimalism by Kwrky 2013-04-30T13:05:00

It had an interesting mechanic of gravity, but the actual gameplay I feel escalated difficulty too quickly and a lot of it felt too much like pixel-perfect jumping. Fits well with the theme, but I also feel some more detail and/or audio (music particularly) could add so much, as well as maybe something like a death counter.

Come Along With Us by HackThePanda 2013-04-30T17:15:00

Why is a kid dreaming of driving a school bus off a cliff? Anyways, a bit charming but also very limited. Also sad at the lack of Brontosaurus in the actual game.

Fog by Noah Ratcliff 2013-04-30T20:02:00

Very cute game! Had a nice style to it, was fun to play and I felt compelled to finish it. Music was charming, and the whole experience was very warm.

Space, Space, Space! by shinestrength 2013-04-30T16:22:00

Was a bit weird, a bit interesting, though I wish there was more to do in the pendulum part than just watch or go back down by pressing space.

maximumCuriosity by DST 2013-04-30T15:28:00

Made it to the beach area with 11 minutes and something seconds to spare. Graphical style is interesting, and can't say I have quite played anything like it, though I will say it wasn't the most fun experience and the clicking in the music sort of annoyed me a bit later in. Definitely innovative, though.

Minimal Ammo by T800 2013-04-30T19:30:00

I feel that if the difficulty was ramped up a bit as time went on, it'd be a lot more fun. I also feel music could of done wonders, or maybe ways to expand or upgrade your own tower. For what it is though, it's a few minutes of fun, and does well enough on the minimal theme.

Rocky Flight Balloon by Smaxx 2013-05-20T04:37:00

Simple, liked the style in the simple graphics. Felt there might be a better way to raise intrigue or make it feel like you're accomplishing something going higher, like a story or score or something.

Rude Bear Rising by Alex Rose 2013-04-30T21:29:00

Got contracted by the wizard, and after that seemed to get stuck in an infinite loop. Still liked what I played and the surrealistic visuals were really appealing to me.

The Epic Journey of the Narcoleptic Cyber Kitten: Floppy Disk Deluxe by theRestlessTaxidermists 2013-04-30T16:42:00

Managed to beat it. It seemed quite difficult at first, but the disk helped a lot. Graphically it was nice, but I felt it would of been better with some music and a bit more atmosphere (seemed like it could be a pretty funky-esque game with a lot of flavor if you had more time).

Dark Black by Purplescape 2013-04-30T22:41:00

A fairly short but well-crafted point'n'click adventure. The game has some nice art, a quirky soundtrack, and a few confusing but still sensible puzzles. Seems to have a good amount of effort into it, and a good amount of charm.

Flight Time by Lerc 2013-04-30T17:59:00

Interesting gravity physics, and a fairly tough cookie. Does it's job, and can be fairly addicting. However, it also was a bit frustrating at times and feels it might do nice with some music or spice (though guess that is a plus on the minimalism).

OneEighty by Mekuri 2013-04-30T13:35:00

I felt the spike hitbox was a bit too big for the spike, and more of a square than a triangle. The audio for completing a level was rather irritatingly high-pitched, and the bouncing sound got repetitive to the point it got annoying. Still though, I did like how the ball controlled, and it had the right level of bounciness and floatiness.

OCDC by roaet 2013-04-30T15:10:00

While I personally didn't think it was too difficult, I did enjoy it and the sort of nursery rhyme tone it had. I took as a bird protecting her eggs, and had a fairly good time pushing blocks and defending them. Simple and to the point, it was a good attempt at making a sort of 'rougher' difficulty game.

Peacemaker by Jod 2013-05-20T04:33:00

Interesting to try a visual novel from this. There were a few typos, and sometimes the writing felt a bit forced, but it was still interesting and hooked me long enough to obtain three endings. Liked the city exploration mechanic.

Coder by RealyUniqueName 2013-05-20T01:53:00

Solid entry, liked the voice acting touch, reverse tetris was fun though the lose conditions I don't think were always clear. Still, had a bit of fun with it.

hekeri by kunzbe 2013-05-20T05:10:00

I... I don't get it...

Earth Defender by Hellequin 2013-04-30T11:53:00

The immediate onslaught is a bit confusing, along with instant death. The lack of music is a shame, and once you figure out that the aliens are looping and that you can break the game by going off the top or bottom of the screen it gets a bit too easy. I liked the graphics for what they were, and always nice to have potatoes, but I felt this could of been designed and polished a lot more. I feel if there was a longer span of enemies coming and not such a cluster, it might prove more beneficial for the title.

Light the way by cinnamonmelonpig 2013-04-30T14:30:00

Was a fun time, liked the ramping in difficulty and the music kept the mood going throughout. Fun little quirks like bouncing around and having an interesting way to move is always fun. The ending... Oh boy.

Life/Routine by lightnarcissus 2013-04-30T11:21:00

It was strange, and a bit confusing at first. I still don't exactly understand it, and I can't say I had a lot of fun with it, but it was interesting. Definitely different.

Formless Reliquary by PsenFilip 2013-04-30T12:38:00

While at first it is a bit easy to not understand fully what you are doing, it comes around to be a fun experience of a memory game. The death mechanic is a bit interesting, and I thought aesthetically it was fairly pleasing. The music was also nice, and the lighting/darkness effects added some nice mood to the game. Had a good amount of content and liked how it looped randomly through uncompleted levels.

Hamburger Ninja by Madruga 2013-05-20T02:11:00

I ran into a sort of funny glitch that sent me flying out of the arena. Basic, but fun. Not enough omph I feel for this kind of title, but the concept is sound.

That's it! ...I'm out! by Bloodrushgames 2013-04-30T12:14:00

While I feel there could of been more 'omph' when shooting things (and that I feel the first boss was significantly harder than the latter ones), I also appreciate the time in making interesting enemies, the single guitar song was rather nice (even if it got a bit more repetitive towards the end), the graphics were simple but nice, and the extra added story at the beginning and end (and the pilot twist) added more substance to the overall experience. Did have a good fun time with it, and be interesting to see what you could possibly do with it with a bit more time and making the gunplay maybe a bit more satisfying.

Type|FACE by TriBeard 2013-04-30T19:37:00

Not a bad concept, and the first typing game I've played so far. However, there is one big flaw... Reading the text as it moves hurts my eyes. I think it would be better if the text was stationary somewhere on screen, as trying to follow it while playing is difficult, and it distorts the text.

Play The Game by Fervir 2013-04-30T15:18:00

Very WarioWare-esque, but a fun game. Maybe a few too many games involving moving your mouse around quickly, but the variety and randomness of the games keeps things fresh and fun, and makes a simple but enjoyable concept.

Destroy the Unnecessary by monosaccharide 2013-04-30T17:20:00

Short, sort of interesting, though very limited and a sort of one-trick pony. Not bad for your first attempt, though.

What is this even? by SmashingAeon 2013-04-30T16:51:00

Good job on your first game entry. Unfortunately it's a bit too flat for its own good, but the gun was kind of fun to mess around with.

ClickStory by ComicSans 2013-04-30T15:43:00

Some guidance probably was needed, I got stuck at the brute too and tried a few things before giving up and coming back here. Not a bad attempt, but I also feel that the lack of guidance of any kind hindered rather than helped.

Dehoarder by SmilingCat 2013-04-30T19:50:00

Nicely constructed, and an interesting concept, but I found it to be annoying how he kept buying stuff and it got really tedious after a short amount of time. Looked nice and played nice, though.

MetroGnome by jprof 2013-05-20T02:16:00

Ran into some weird problem where the gnome and the birds kept turning invisible. Interesting direction, and liked the metronome mechanic once I figured it out, but the glitches and weird hit detection sort of detracted the whole experience. Still, not a bad attempt, and the art was nice.

MiniCrawler by Nezzhil 2013-05-20T04:58:00

I liked the style, I liked the concept, but it was dragged down in my opinion by the 'life' system (not the health, just die a certain amount of times and restart) and the way too big hitbox on every object. Still, enjoyable.

Minimalist Dungeon Crawler by Cranky 2013-05-20T03:01:00

Simple, to the point, was kind of addicting, and had fun with it.

MinimalJump by Xatulu 2013-04-30T12:04:00

The effort in visuals and audio is definitely appreciated. I also had some fun with it, but yes, the collision detection issues and the trial and error gameplay lead to diminishing the result. I feel if you tackled this again, maybe added some mechanic to the gameplay to spice it up, and of course work a bit on design and collisions, this could be a fun time. Good job on your first self-made game effort, though!

Darkness by LrdKzrth 2013-05-20T02:03:00

An interesting idea, though the lack of anything really happening or any sort of concept of where the exit might be sort of drags the whole thing gown. Not a bad attempt, though.

Minimalist Horror Story by MinionStudios 2013-04-30T21:45:00

A tried and true formula. I feel you should of added more sound to the game, as what was there didn't do much for the atmosphere I feel. A bit cliche maybe, but it was nice adding some randomized stuff between playthroughs.

Blank Slate by AestheticGamer 2013-04-30T13:37:00

The reason is because to make sure the game worked for everyone, I had to include the RTP, which added 200 or so MB to the file, but makes it so that the game will work for people who don't have the RTP. The actual game file size is 30 MB, and most of that was the music/sound effects.

Blank Slate by AestheticGamer 2013-04-30T15:54:00

On Shymoonesk request, getting a Dropbox link ready. Should be up in less than 10 minutes.

Procedural Island Happiness by nonatomicpaul 2013-04-30T14:34:00

Fun to look at, but not really much to it. There also are weird clipping issues with the ship going through islands and sinking whenever it hits a checkpoint.

Captain Blowhole by EatYourBeef_Doug 2013-04-30T10:09:00

It was fun drilling through planets, and it looked nice. However, I think the fifth weapon was overly OP and broke the balance of the game a lot, and this felt like a score-based game missing a score. I feel if it was expanded upon and added with more depth, it could be a lot of fun, and struck me as something that might be fun on phone devices.

Voider by Back to Browse Entries 2013-04-30T16:46:00

Definitely minimalistic, but unfortunately not to fun. Good for a quick entry, but not much else unfortunately. Score was 15 on both tries.

Title: Subtitle by Liz England 2013-04-30T20:14:00

While the platforming felt a bit stiff, the concept was fun and I had fun playing it. Interesting how ones imagination fills in the blanks. The music was also nice and added a good amount to the experience.

Ablaze by ignifluous 2013-05-20T01:44:00

It was interesting, though kind of confusing.

City Walk by MaxSzlagor 2013-04-30T17:10:00

It's a semi-interesting concept that actually got me thinking on how to make a certain kind of game, but of course, with just walking and not much more it is a limited experience. And moon-walking at the beginning is fun. XD;

Mino-malism by Shymoonesk 2013-04-30T16:11:00

Unfortunately pressing W caused errors to happen in the game. I also have some doubts about some of the stuff here being original. Also had some weird glitches with worms and spazzing out. Good first attempt, but very rough around the edges.

Lost In Fancy by Back to Browse Entries 2013-05-20T03:34:00

Fabulous~ The game was okay, the graphics were nice, some music or further depth might be nice, but it was still absolutely fabulous~

Parabox by Jon Fischer 2013-04-30T14:15:00

Very fun and somewhat enriched experience that had a good amount of content. The story felt it had more to it, the Piano track was soothing and kept the pace of the game well in thought. It had a nice graphic style and screen filter, though some weird things sometimes did happen with shadows as our character block seemed to have been a source of light. Liked some of the concepts behind levels, though I still do no understand cat. Very enjoyable.

++Pet; by mushbuh 2013-04-30T15:36:00

Good work for going under flu. I liked the touch of it suffering when you weren't treating it right. I am happy cleaning poop was so efficient and easy.

Steam-Cube by Monoquartz 2013-04-30T21:04:00

The controls are well done (even if the cube slides a bit), and the game certainly ramps up the challenge. The pixel smoke effects are cool, the music is rocking, and the whole experience, while rather trialing, is still fun to get through. A simple but solid game.

Hi Me Ro Me by NAL 2013-04-30T18:19:00

Interesting take on the run escape genre, the laser makes a good take. And the music is awesome, as well as the graphics work well for the type of title it is.

Apples by Aiji777 2013-04-30T11:42:00

All the apples just run away... I guess I'm not much of an apple person.

Supersto by wolf 2013-05-20T03:44:00

A simple mechanic game, it was fun though the platforming made moving the objects sometimes a bit disorienting and I was able to glitch my way to a few victories by riding the objects I was holding that sprung me forward. Still, a good time.

Super Minimalistic by spilth 2013-04-30T16:31:00

Couldn't find an end, but interesting concept. The music was nice and it was cool how it got creepier when you collected things. Still, could use some work, and some clear passage of where to go (or completion, if there was no route).

Room by Magdev 2013-04-30T14:52:00

At first it was a bit bewildering, but once I got a hang of it I actually found it to be quite fun and addicting. Be interesting to see an expanded version with more events, and will try and survive all 25 days next time. The simplicity was wonderfully creative, too.

Minimum by jlm 2013-04-30T13:13:00

While the item system sort of confused me, I did have a semi good time with it. I feel differentiating some of the graphics for items and enemies would of made it less confusing sometimes as differentiating them while being chased sometimes was a bit confusing. Still, a fairly unique shooter/survivor concept matched with an interesting take on minimalism.

a-mazing TowerDefense by Zelosfan 2013-04-30T09:52:00

I had a good time with it. Simplistic which fits the theme, though I kind of wish there was maybe a bit of music with the experience. I thought that having the health in the 'boxes' was pretty clever, though I felt there should of been a better way to show that a stage was coming to an end as it seemed sort of random. Maybe something like an enemy count or a timer?

Defender. by Tainted_Code 2013-04-30T12:48:00

Loved the graphical touches in the game 9the spinning, the passing by tumbleweed, the building decay when being destroyed), and this was extended to gameplay appeal (hitting your own buildings to hurt them). The music was catchy, and while difficult at first, once you had a grasp it was a good time. I would say it might be cool to see this extended with more mechanics, but the simplicity was also appealing. The curve of the aim felt a bit off at times (either in favor or out of favor), though with the 2D structure it was a bit understandable.

Cube Defender by kratorspore 2013-04-30T10:28:00

I thought that the idea was fairly original for 'fling block' games, but I also found it a tad superficial and too easy to get stuck. It is a thinking game, but I felt that the mechanic wasn't all to fun. That said, you did a good job at bringing the whole idea together, and feel that with some work it could turn out a lot more rounded. Unique twist, but not completely sure a twist I enjoy.

MiniFPX by KhaoTom 2013-04-30T12:26:00

Really enjoyed the mechanic of having the platforms make music, made doing it so much more satisfying, I got caught in a loop and could only collect potatoes, so not sure if a proper ending, but had an interesting experience with it. Also, white fog looks nice and was easier to see through than black fog.

Samus Regrets by Tifu 2013-05-20T05:07:00

Interesting concept, and works well with the Metroid theme and it controls well. Unfortunately not the biggest fan of the guessing game of what to drop and what to not, but I found it to be well-developed with its mechanics and a lot of effort was put in, evidently.

.Dot by sudojess 2013-05-20T01:33:00

While very short, it was a quick enjoyable experience that could be quite fun if it was tuned up and expanded. I ran into some things involving me running against walls or the character acting a bit funky, but overall a solid effort.

Moonshot by kurrik 2013-05-20T04:52:00

Was fun projecting around. With some more mechanics added, and a longer length, an extension of such a project could be interesting.

Dungeoneer by protensity 2013-04-30T10:50:00

The text part of the game was a lot of fun. Interactive fiction is appealing to me. But I feel you let go of the concept too quickly, and that the dot collecting took more away than added to the experience. However, it was well-written, and I wish you played up on the being followed by a beast and surviving trap mechanic in the story more.

Minianimalism! by lorancou 2013-05-20T02:34:00

Had a lot of fun with this. Though maybe a bit too reliant on butts, the mouth was cool to mess with, and the whole idea was quite refreshing. Would be cool to see something like this expanded.

Requiem by Nik Sudan 2013-04-30T15:52:00

A bit murky looking, the song was nice. Platforming wasn't really fun and I sort of saw the twist coming, but still, a rather cool experience game.

Your Efforts are in Vain by BarrensZeppelin 2013-04-30T17:00:00

Some nice graphics and audio, though a bit frustrating, it can be fun to see how much you survive and the title isn't misleading. Wasn't too pretentious either, so no need to worry about it too much.

Probably the weirdest game I've played so far. Looked good and had a good atmosphere, but I also can't claim to have fully understood what I just played, and the gameplay was rather simplistic. Most of it was pressing buttons and riding things. Still, enjoyably odd.

Epsilon Adventure by recursor 2014-04-28T06:00:00

An interesting puzzle/experience game, looked pretty for being made in just 48 hours. I was doing well on puzzles until the last one, which I admit I guessed and solved. Still though, had an interesting surreal feel.

Miner Matter by HeyChinaski 2014-04-28T02:49:00

I had quite a bit of fun with it! While a physics-based game, it was whacky and got more challenging as it went. I got up to level 8 before I put in the towel. I think music would help the mood though, but still a fun experience.

Dolphin Dash by Zccc 2014-04-28T08:53:00

Very cute. I feel it was maybe a bit too unforgiving to people who like to have a free-falling jumping dolphin such as myself, but it was still fun. Music might have done wonders, though.

2587: Screw You ET by Holofire 2014-04-28T07:12:00

It was a bit weirdly glitchy for me, but I did in fact like it from what I understood. I got confused because of not clear on how to mine (I guess it was a defend the point deal?), and weird graphical glitches that happened on some planets. Still, it was interesting, to say the least.

Friend of the Fisherman by rubna 2014-04-28T06:59:00

Loved the graphic style and music to this. Got a little under $600. Liked the variety of fish, and the orange ocean theme.

Gorilla 2100 by leparlon 2014-04-28T07:32:00

I feel the theme was really shoehorned into the game, besides that the gameplay is good enough but there was a problem with the randomly generated levels where the gorillas would often spawn behind a wall that made the game a lot more difficult than it should be. I never managed to hit an AI player, they always managed killing themselves. Online is a nice feature though, and an interesting thought.

Playbuck by Ithildin 2014-04-28T04:22:00

I feel as I carried on my bunny was hopping with a burden. The more bunnies I sexed, the heavier my heart and self were. Eventually I got stuck in a hole, and couldn't escape. I had to start over, amend my deeds. I humped only one rabbit that day, and then found my way into the hole of bunny fortune. Truly an experience.

Dig or Die by Joror 2014-04-28T04:29:00

I wasn't quite sure how to not arrive at extinction, but I did find the experience interesting. I figured you had to dig and eventually choose to seal-off before radiation struck, but never found how to make myself survive. Still, I liked the concept and even though sort of spent a few rounds simply jumbling around with it, had a nice time.

Dungeon Grounds by influxWishdream 2014-04-28T04:34:00

It was cut short, and to be honest I didn't figure out how to attack (if you even could), however it was nice sprite-work, the number of enemies and the variety of differences between them was interesting, and the game had a nice cool/cute thing going on. Also the introduction was interesting.

The Deepest Darkest Trench by trueyomic 2014-04-28T09:26:00

Was a fun little romp I did worse at than I'd like to admit. Still, some fun maneuvering, and I did quite like the ending.

Ordained by RadioLemon 2014-04-28T04:51:00

It was interesting for a stealth game, though the mechanics weren't very well explained so a little trial and error was needed. The audio cues were interesting. The bats were mostly useless, but funny to spam. I don't quite know what this had to do with the theme though, well I kind of did, but it didn't seem very related. I will add that free-falling was fun.

Drill Fish by meszka 2014-04-28T08:31:00

Had fun drilling around as the fish. strategizing and surviving were interesting and surprisingly balanced elements. However, once you got the controls down it got a bit too easy, and also even though I killed all the humans the game kept going and I couldn't find anything

Topsail by Devon 2014-04-28T07:33:00

Know it was an uncompleted project, but it does in fact look pretty.

Close Your Eyes by AestheticGamer 2014-04-28T04:13:00

@Lacaranian & Moonmagic: The RTP is the third link on this page (labelled as "VX Ace RTP (Needed for the engine), can download from here: http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages )

@jtpup0: as it says in the description on this page, "If the text appears off-adjacent with the game window and trails off the screen, install the font from the font folder"

Close Your Eyes by AestheticGamer 2014-04-28T04:14:00

Also as a heads-up, the source version includes the RTP needed, but I didn't want to include it as it added an additional 200 MB to the game size.

Close Your Eyes by AestheticGamer 2014-04-28T05:07:00

(For anyone who may get stuck there, my two hints are think about the eyes, and pay attention to the darkness levels)

Close Your Eyes by AestheticGamer 2014-04-28T07:05:00

Yup, I didn't use any of the RTP, all the music was created by me on the first day and was actually the first thing I set out to do. All the spritework too. I prefer to make things from scratch.

All is one by Erkberg 2014-04-28T05:06:00

Interesting story, though was hoping for some more spices to the gameplay. However, it was a fun little romp, and got a little too into making the shadows open up.

Lurker by tinykidtoo 2014-04-28T05:23:00

Unfortunately a little bit too buddy. I was walking through walls like nobodies business, and the sighting system was weird, and eventually I dug out of the level and went soaring to kingdom come. Not bad, but felt a little too broken at this stage.

Drill Bill by mactinite 2014-04-28T03:13:00

I wasn't very good at the game, but i did play through each level. Obvious some glitches and flaws aside, it was fun and I liked how you added some strategy to it with the enemies, though I never did manage to figure out how to kill the enemies that shoot you with pig-like snouts. Still, impressed you managed all that in two days.

Kraken's Island by GreenyUk 2014-04-28T04:12:00

Was fun, though I got a bit too good at it and sort of forced myself to lose. Still, it was addicting, it was fun, though maybe the difficulty could of ramped up more as it went. My record was 1614 seconds: http://s29.postimg.org/m6z3mz5b9/Pirates_Score.png

Pixel Draw by zebi24 2014-04-28T08:48:00

Only played into the second level, but it was interesting. I liked the mechanics, though sometimes finding out where to place the piece got annoying as once the finished pieces started moving they were sometimes hard to maneuver-against obstacles. Also I am not quite certain what this game had to do with the theme.

Sail by DrPrettyPatty 2014-04-28T07:27:00

The graphics definitely stood the most out about the game. It took a bit to understand things about the game, and to be honest I did not figure out the element of treasure hunting in the game. Also I glitched and got items I wasn't supposed to yet as it counted me as having enough fish as I was next to the squid while it was counting down. Still, an enjoyable and calm game, and impressed you managed this in 48 hours!

Earthworms Are Proteins! by broepi 2014-04-28T04:41:00

I actually liked it, it was like a harder pseudo version of Snake, but the twists made it interesting and I enjoyed it a lot.

Deep Calls To Deep by Romko Pidstryhach 2014-04-28T09:40:00

I liked the game a lot, had a certain beauty to it. The graphics were nice for the game, the gameplay was fun, I liked the ending, and the music was very chilling and nice to listen too. My one complaint is the fact it was randomly generated had flaws, and sometimes made certain sections impossible to beat (sometimes a jellyfish would be block the whole of a narrow corridor, or there'd be no bubbles in time, at least both of these happened to me once), however, it's a game that definitely had a nice atmosphere to it.

The Creature Beneath by Otrora Games 2014-04-28T05:17:00

I will admit my fun was a bit hampered by a few restarts, some of them were from things like the eel automatically teleporting on me when I entered the room or finding out I can't get back up after missing the pipes at the start, but IT WAS SO CUTE. And the music was catchy and helped the mood. I defeated the last boss thing way too quickly, I don't even know what I did, it just peaked its head out barely, I mashed space, and it sort of died. Still, cute, good mood, and good enough fun.

Cave Ghost by CodeNMore 2014-04-28T03:06:00

Not bad, almost I had enough fun with it and appreciated the randomly generated factions, though that did cause a few odd areas of way too many ghosts at once or things spawning in blocks or ghosts spawning with you at the start, but still, go orange pill.

Beneath the clouds by simplesmiler 2014-04-28T08:58:00

Well, it was interesting. I feel I missed something, as for me the game was just a cutscene, and then it ended. Regardless, it was pretty, think audio would help a lot. But it was an interesting interpretation of the theme. Made me think a little bit.

The Goblin Inside by MetanoKid 2014-04-28T02:32:00

WOW, that gave my hand a workout. It was amusing,I liked the sort of natural increased difficulty from just piling up factors. To be honest, I don't really think the theme was there, but it was fun. Also, the music was nice and helped me get in the groove a lot to go deeper into it.

Return To The Surface by Flam 2014-04-28T08:02:00

I had fun with the jetpack (and a broken element if you jumped and then immediately pressed jetpack you'd fly a lot faster), and it looked nice, but the enemies got too easily cluttered with the looping stage so I wouldn't see one for ages, and then suddenly meet a bunch all at once. Also I did not find a single Power Stone.

WHAT IS IN THE SWAMP? (IT'S MONSTERS) by tacs 2014-04-28T07:48:00

As an aesthetic gamer, I liked the look you managed to get in 48 hours, it reminded me and others watching on stream of the first Alone in the Dark game. However, the AI was a bit too stupid to really make it too challenging, and as how the swamp was laid out, there was only really one torch worth protecting (the one next to the ammo). However, such a game expanded, improved, and the like would be interesting, and I found the title oddly appealing.

Beneath the surface. by shaneparsons 2014-04-28T08:38:00

Sort of interesting concept with the theme. However, too easy, and even easier to a broken point once you realize you can hug the walls (the black ones) and never encounter anything to hurt you. But still, interesting free-fall, and I would say it didn't look too bad (though I did sense the Minecraft influence promptly).

Dungeons of Dragorath by killthealias 2014-04-28T09:31:00

A solid game, rogue-like fun, though I feel the theme was underutilized. Also I liked the music, but the more I heard it, the more I kept imagining it like duck quacks.

Blunderer by Jacob Peltola 2014-04-28T09:10:00

As a person who enjoys interesting experiences, I liked the game. It looked very nice and the visual cues were interesting once you caught on to them. The use of the theme for beneath the surface was interesting, though I felt it was maybe skimping over it a bit. Also liked the music, though the main theme in the game sounded exactly like the first half of the Sonic the Hedgehog 1 Special Stage theme. Good game, though!

Mia and the Mole by Foofur 2014-04-28T09:01:00

Unfortunately could not get it to run as it said the version of Windows I have does not support the game (64X system)

Save Us by philip_sinclair 2014-04-28T03:28:00

While not fully sure how related it was to the theme, it was an interesting sort of frantic puzzle game that really tested the player to think on their feet. Audio was appropriately off-beat. I also wasn't very good at the game but still enjoy it.

Underminers Inc. by quadtree 2014-04-28T08:20:00

Was fun and addictive, though they raided you maybe a bit fast to understand things fully at first. Still, music was nice, looked nice, and was fun to get more into. I lost every time.

In Hiding by Sheepolution 2014-04-28T02:15:00

Very moody! Liked it, made me tense to play it, and an interesting concept. I was intrigued to know more about the situation, and managed to pass a round but still got caught in the end. Sure if I played it more I could get better, but my time with it had me on edge.

Kamikaze Dive Bomb by CaptainKraft 2014-04-28T02:26:00

The concept was kind of funny, and the 'build your ship' element was interesting. However, the theme felt kind of forced, and I didn't find it very fun to play. The enemies not attacking you felt like a bit of a missed opportunity, and thus the game was more like a simulator to fling yourself around at moving objects, but they all moved at the same speed and pace. If it had a few more hooks to it, I could see it being fairly fun though.

The Quest for Unobtanium by Redream 2014-04-28T06:50:00

Was definitely addictive. Had the problem of things like this it got progressively easier (though I did put myself into a fail corner at the start with over-heating and no fuel, but second go went smoothly). Definitely had charms though.

Metal Meter Madness by mrspeaker 2014-04-28T03:23:00

Was a fun and addictive game, audio helped a lot to make the mood, and a few good laughs. Liked the different managed options. Though who really would go do this all day if all you get is like, $10-30? Still, enjoyable~

Cootie Patootie by AestheticGamer 2016-04-21T18:12:00

@doombrowski: Happy you liked it, the thing at the end is probably a bit too challenging, I was pretty sleep depraved when I got to that point. XD;

@Freank: Definitely, feel free to.
