LD19 — Discovery

The Legend of Akata by philomory 2012-04-02T02:51:00

How did you package up the Mac version?

LD23 — Tiny World

ToastBiome by tinyworlds 2012-04-26T00:56:00

Not sure what I was supposed to do. Nice job on the GUI and interesting graphics.

Cat Planet by shaunxcode 2012-04-25T11:39:00

Took me some time to figure out what I was supposed to do and by the time I did the frame rate dropped and it froze. Could be interesting with a little explanation at the beginning and a frame rate fix.

Small World by psychopsam 2012-04-26T02:19:00

Tried to play it on a Mac but it just keeps crashing when I start playing.

Delirium by Puccini 2012-04-24T12:18:00

Nice looking and well functioning game. Was missing the sound and am curious what future levels might look like.

Jack by PaulSB 2012-04-26T02:24:00

This was pretty good. I like the intro dialogue, the music and how the music changed once I got the vehicle. Couldn't figure out how to beat the boss and ended up flying over him and into an area I probably wasn't supposed to be in.

tr-3012 by heuermh 2012-04-26T02:34:00

I couldn't figure out what to do.

Ant, Bee, Cow, Pig and Spider BOSS by karnakgames 2012-04-26T02:44:00

This was pretty fun! The homegrown sound effects were fun and the multiple tasks/character was cool. Nice job!

Tiny World by spilth 2012-04-25T18:48:00

Thank you to those who checked it out and those who commented even if you couldn't run it. If you've got Ruby on your OS you can check out the code and run it that way: ruby tinyworld.rb. Might have to do a "gem install bundler" and "bundle install" beforehand...

Tiny World by spilth 2012-04-26T02:28:00

@xBlinkedx: I tried to make a Windows version but ran into problems when trying to package it up. I should've sorted it out before the contest. It was on my prep list but I never got to it.

@dansludumdare: My problem was that I was really still trying to figure out the framework (Chingu) during the competition and not focused on gameplay. But I at least wanted to go through the submission process so I'm ready for it next time.

Gravity Sucks [WEB] by Nocturne 2012-04-24T23:25:00

Fun little game. I encountered two issues: 1) When trying to enter my name as a high score whatever character I typed would end up repeating. 2) I got stuck on a planet after another one blew up and couldn't do anything except sit around.

Magniverse by Erifdex 2012-04-26T00:52:00

It was tought for me to figure out what was going on and the controls seem weird to me. I liked the music (very fitting) and the radar is cool. I think some sprite replacement would help solidify what's going in the game.

Little Mischief Makers by netguy204 2012-04-24T23:19:00

Nicely put together little sandbox game, especially the music :-D I figured out that you can jump and place blocks underneath you, but it seems limiting that you can't dig to the side of yourself?

Zephyr by cadin 2012-04-26T00:59:00

Very nice! I'd love to play this on an iPad or touch device. Wonderful graphics and animation. Fantastic audio. Really well done!

Frustrating Tiny Rooms by PapyPilgrim 2012-04-25T17:18:00

Fun little game. I was a little confused by the key-remapping blocks and found it a bit difficult to manage in my brain once I figured it out.

LD26 — Minimalism

Land of the Free by uberneen 2013-04-29T22:04:00

I had to fight with the controls in order to activate the terminals which became frustrating enough to not want to read them all :-/ I suggest turning off mouselook and mapping keys to turning.

Flourish by Beanalby 2013-04-29T04:22:00

This is well done. I really like how you're using audio in the game. Nice graphics and visual accents, too.

The only thing that wasn't clear to me was what the pulsing of the flowers accomplished.

Escape Shaft by Zathalos 2013-04-29T03:57:00

Excellent! This is exactly what I was hoping it would be from the screenshot/description.

The only problem I had was with the collision detection on the single tile corridors. Was getting stuck a lot.

It would be cool if there were some "super combo" messages and stuff with bonus points.

Great job!

Freedom by orangepascal 2013-04-29T22:08:00

Nice art and interesting concept. Might be better with different sounds for things happening. Just kind of clicked randomly and eventually got free.

A by infernet89 2013-05-05T16:38:00

I really liked the music. The first game was interesting. Then playing Tetris was a bit off-putting. Got to the third game and couldn't determine what the red blocks were doing for me. Since they were red I assumed they were bad. Interesting idea though!

Misshapen by Aaants 2013-04-29T04:26:00

The instructions and scene transitions looked really great. Nice little story and very nice graphics.

Quest by Scott McBee 2013-04-29T04:37:00

This is well done. Very simple to play but still challenging. Not sure the music fits with the setting though...

Invertigo! by unusualcadence 2013-04-29T02:12:00

Nice job! I got up to the part with the "triple fire" turrets but couldn't manage to get up to that switch. Would be nice if there was a way to show which way the triangle is facing.

Guesses by Waave 2013-04-29T21:57:00

Challenging. I like the music and art style. But it gets super frustrating after a while. I got the save point right before the "Present" for the Fix key and was getting pretty frustrated.

Also if you play in a browser with a white background it's hard to tell where the world ends and the browser background beings.

The Painter's Cat by Arcana 2013-05-05T16:30:00

Tried to play this on my Mac but it wanted me to install X11.

ShrunkenAdventures by FuzzyWuzzie 2013-04-30T02:48:00

This was a fun, complete, great looking game. My only complaint is that some of the messages were hard to read because they were blocked by the Pixel Score.

Hipster Annihilator 9000 by deige101 2013-04-29T21:39:00

Was cute and well done but could use more hipster phrases.

Super Minimalistic by spilth 2013-05-01T03:21:00

Thanks for all the feedback! I fixed a small bug - score/item count now stays on the screen and doesn't move with the map.

Super Minimalistic by spilth 2013-05-01T14:53:00

Another minor update - updated the libgdx JARs to the latest nightlies which should allow you to just double-click the JAR on Macs to start the game rather than from the command-line.

Cage's Ghost by headchant 2013-04-29T04:03:00

I like the graphics and the audio but the jumping/movement was a bit spastic for me. Is there some way for me to control where the ghost is dropping the brick bombs?

GunBoat by Beerman 2013-04-29T12:47:00

Nice job on the explosion and torpedo alarm graphics. It's cool that an alarm sounds when torpedos are coming but I wish there was something I could do about them? Some music would help set the mood. Nice job though!

Jetpack Survival by BlennosoftGames 2013-05-05T04:00:00

Well it's definitely a minimalistic game. Works well and is definitely challenging.

LD55 — Summoning

Protect the Summoner by khaotom 2024-04-17T16:09:17Z

Oooodahlin ahhdoolaaooohhhinnn!

Fun but tough little game! Loved the chanting and the circles. Struggled to keep my summoner behind my shield, though!

The Ball and the Island by neontropics 2024-05-01T16:14:18Z

I love me a marble game and I love that you went with a cel-shaded style. I managed to get to all the campfires and tried for too long to get that last strawberry!

What a wacky and fun game :-D

Night 333 by MaiMai 2024-05-01T15:36:36Z

I think there's a lot of promise here. I really like the look of the cars and the colors. Some audio feedback for when you're actually affecting the other cars would be helpful. I went into this just assuming it was a racing game so I was just trying to get past everybody (and also wondering why we didn't all start together or where the checkpoints were!)

It could definitely use some music to get things pumping! Let me know if you're looking for some music tracks for this game: https://polymonic.com/

Isle of the Forsaken by Mololo 2024-05-01T15:41:11Z

Pretty impressive for a game jam game! The voice overs were a bit flat but by the middle of the game I started to suspect they were generated. I did end up finishing it, though I almost quit while trying to find the propeller. It was hard to discern which was the "main villa" on the map. I thought it was the mansion for a while.

I think with some polishing up you could release this on Steam for a couple of bucks.

Winds Whisperer by stellarnightmare 2024-05-01T15:57:38Z

I liked the look of the enemies and the creatures I summoned. It was hard to tell when I could and couldn't summon the different types. I also wasn't sure when they were taking or dealing damage. I think either some health bars or audio feedback would help me understand that.

I did manage to defeat the boss, though!

Noble Warlock by Alex Duh 2024-05-01T15:46:41Z

Cute little game! I do wish there was a way to play it full screen and make it scale - it was tiny on my screen.

My main request is to make it easier to restart after dying. Seems I had to quit and restart the application every time.
