Aww yeah, right up my street! Bullets and pixels flying everywhere!
This is totally charming and I loved playing it
Well this was fun fun fun on a bun. Would have loved some audio in there too! Love the above suggestion of syncing it to a beat :) Awesome work!
I enjoyed the tone of this so much, nice to play something that felt so friendly!
Ah, loved this! Great presentation, great game idea! Loads of depth here, plenty of mileage to get good at it and reach for high scores
Ooh thanks for spotting the typo Kiwiboi, i was verry tired when I wrote it.
Just did a small progression-blocker bugfix for people that couldn't reach the switch on the 3rd level! Hopefully there aren't any more! :|
@Martin_Monosys - as a triangle you wish revenge on your smooth-sided, pi-endowed bretherin! But their allies are many, and have the power of palette swapping at their disposal...
Thanks for the positive vibes and feedback folks! Ooh I could tighten up the 'floaty' feel of the movement by tweaking a few variables, but unfortunately them's the breaks of Ludum Dare! Hopefully in a future remix edition I will address the multitude of comments about the controls :) I think the acceleration/deceleration is just slightly too slow!
Thanks for being super cool with feedback everyone! I've uploaded a post-compo version of the game, hopefully taking in to account most of the feedback from people.
* More health restore points!
* Restart at the beginning of the level you die on!
* More friction on the player character!
* You can see which way you're pointing now!
* Couple more levels thrown in for fun!

This needs more love! Had a blast playing this, love the 2.5d fps aesthetic and gameplay
Hah, loved this! Put a big smile on my face :)
Outstanding presentation, loved the narrator and the attenuation on the 'bad' sound was a great touch. That fade to white is like, a second too long maybe, took a while to get to the meat of the game. Er, just a nitpick though. The meat of the game was fun puzzlin'!
This is outstanding, excellent idea executed perfectly! Looks and sounds great
I liked the originality of this and the attempt to do some generative music :) I can see elements of this being turned in to a more fully-developed music game.
Looks very polished, fun to play too! Got a pixeljunk shooter vibe from it, which is always a good thing :)
Lovely art, nice to play! I feel that the potato baddies shoot slightly too frequently, I think it makes it harder than it possibly needs to be as it seems the only way to kill them is to time your jumps with extreme precision? Love that the lil' ground runner dudes have inertia when changing direction.
I enjoyed doing a bit of fishing, and then the fish started talking and grew wings to fly away, at which point I was bowled over with charm! Some ethereal, reverbed pads in the background would totally complement the atmosphere of this (not sure about the organ footsteps, but hey it's a dream right?)
Hooray for AGS! Solid presentation, really well put together! (also reminded me a little of an old old AGS game called SOL)
This is a neat concept, I'm sure there's more mileage in this. I kept having another go, which is always a good sign!
Really enjoyed playing this!
Great puzzle game! Loved the mechanics of it, very well paced and a really smart use of the theme. Music and pixels were top notch :)
Really fun game and concept. I think it's another game I've played where the 10 second theme has kind of made it less fun than it might be than say, if the theme had been '20 seconds' :) But easy to fix in a post-compo version!
Brilliantly polished, fun to play! Great art and gameplay, the dashing mechanic is a nice variant on the platformer movement!
Really fun! The time mechanics are really well implemented, and the game looks pretty stunning too!
Wow, top notch production values! Loved the speech synth mangling, and the soundtrack, and the art! I found the game a little bit too pressured with the timelimit and constantly having to get my phone out, but I guess the theme can sometimes be limiting :) Loved it all the same!
Yeahnice game! A little bit BBC Micro
The movement in this is really sweet, it's a shame the levels are so slight as I was having a good time romping around! Level 4 should show there's a bigger game to be made out of the yellowbox controls
So much fun play this, hehe. Rat destruction!
Typical, every time you need to go to the loo there's already a guy in there!
Gameplay synced to dubstep? Awesome! I loved the presentation, the music rocked, great to see that being done :)
@cafeine: ah whoops, that was a bad oversight. I can quickly add some alternative keys for non QWERTY players!
OK I did a quick patch to add additional keys. 'Z/X' can be replaced with 'A/S' or 'O/P'. I hope this is useful. Also updated the webpage (which I need to format nicely, haha) to reflect this, plus letting you know that F1 and F toggle full-screen. Do'h!
@Photon: I originally had jump/walljump on the same key, but it didn't uh, playtest very well (my girlfriend got very angry at the game, haha), which is why it's a little bit different. I wonder if there's some input lag now I've upscaled the game?
@Lokarunith: Originally I was going to have every level with a 10 second time limit, but it just got tedious. I didn't want to hamstring the fun of the game by being too religious to the theme... hence all of the time limits per level are *multiples * of 10... do de do :D
Ok, I loved this to bits. Brilliant effort all round, looks great, sounds great, cool gameplay idea! Could watch that bird bounce around all day...
Haha, had a lot of fun with this. Enjoyable narrative :D
Nice idea on the theme, found it difficult but I nailed that 10 second flight after some experimenting! Shame those hidden achievements aren't more apparent, as they're quite fun!
Wow, really enjoyed playing this! Game keeps interesting and varied, and more challenging as your powers are taken away. Great polish too!
Funky and elegent puzzler, had me playing for a while :) Love the music too, great work!
Really fun platformer, I enjoyed it to the end!
Fun and frantic! Nicely polished and enjoyable gameplay
I did it, I BEAT the game!
I enjoyed the platforming in this, and the light mechanic was used very effectively!
Spent a bunch of time playing this, I thought it was great! The 10 seconds theme really made the gameplay interesting on this, and I had a lot of fun :)
Didn't have a clue what was going on initially, then I RTFM and had a good time! Enjoyed the mad visuals.
Nice game, love me some scrolling shooters! I wasn't quite sure if my shots stopping working occasionally was intentional, like I'd run out of ammo, but I couldn't see how it recharged if it did. Made it to the end regardless :)
Always enjoy playing your games, they're polished, nice to look at and always have a fun take on the platformer genre!
Enjoyed this! I think it has potential beyond the compo, a little bit of expansion and it'd be a neat platformer/vehicle exploration game
I went long. Waaay long. Good fun :)
Great effort on this! WarioWare is my favourite party game, so happy to see more games like it
This game has a very unsettling atmosphere, round about the 50th faceplant and you think "might as well keep going!" :D
The shadow head took be by surprise! Ludum Dare is all about learning new things, and hopefully will inspire you to keep going down this atmospheric route :)
Took me a couple of rounds to get in to the rhythm of it, then I was ronin'in like a pro! Great graphics and music
Nice puzzler with great music :)
The permanence in this is great, wasn't sure what was going on at first as I just dived in and then did a big grin when I realised the corpses all around were of other players! Great idea.
@phi6: wow, thanks for the mention! :D
@Senevri: yeah it's a bit tenuous but... you get one invincibility power-up which you can use at will once it's unlocked. I really wish I'd found a better way to communicate it in-game but I totally messed up my original plans to put in more power-ups that You Only Get One of. Time limits, aah! (You also only get one life, one enemy type, one weapon, one love)
Now this was really cool! I love the concept of keeping your probe in orbit, I did pretty well too... all that Kerbal Space Program practice I think! :)
MMmmm yes lovely! Massive fan of anything that uses music as a gameplay mechanic, great work!
Enjoyed the concept of this game!
It's an adventure game! With grizzy deaths! And great sound! Excellent :D
Cool concept! I found it really difficult, although good fun!
I really like the art and the isometric style. Also cats for bonus marks! :)
Wow, yes loved it! Very very tense, good understanding of how to elicit fear in the player
I really liked this, nice take on an adventure-style time-limited dialogue puzzle! It did get pretty tense as the seconds ticked down, I had no idea if I made the right decision in the end or not! :D
Low poly space game? Going straight for the <3 with this one! I think the cockpit took up a little bit too much of the screen but I had fun! First run I just let the missile off and got berated for it, which made me laugh! The voiceacting is an appreciated touch :D
Great mood and feel to this, I liked the drone-based gameplay!
Heartbreaking. I had trouble playing, but for the right reasons! Great work.
Not sure what I just played, but I liked it!
Holy moly this is a classy game! Amazing work for the time period, great audio and atmosphere!
