Amazing idea, as people already said, a more intuitive editor and better physics will make this in something awesome!

Amazing idea, as people already said, a more intuitive editor and better physics will make this in something awesome!
Love the intro and the old film effect! The gameplay was a little confused at the start, but very fun!
Can't open the .zip! Was corrupted!
Seems a nice game! Greetings from Brazil! ;)
Wow! A lot of levels! =O
and... damn pterodactyls! xD
Nice game with a very nice concept!
Very cool game with very cool characters too! The 10º wave was pretty hard! xD
Amazing concept! Addictive! =O
I agree with Dietrich, the background/foreground need a contrast. But was fun! Good job ! =)
Loved the idea, very cool game, but I wasn't very popular with the dino ladies =´(
I didn't understand much, but was very fun! I survived the natural selection more than one time! xD
I just think was maybe too easy, I think I was more fast than the IA, I don't know but, perhaps if the game have some way to make the player get the cells more slowly will be good? Sorry my bad english ^^'
Pretty cool, love the mechanics and the monsters ^^
Very enjoyable! But my job was a carnage! xD
Fit very well with the theme too!
I loved it ! I laugh so hard ! Loved the characters! =)
so cute! congrats! :)
Very nice game! Funny sound effects and after level 4 the game became pretty challenging for me! xD
Very nice game! Good graphics, and the music fit well with the game.
The letters in the intro were too small, but was very fun and the concept fit very well with the theme!
Thanks PixelOaks! Having done this game in Blender, and only with logic bricks..well... was a little difficult xD
But very fun! \o/
Sorry for no sound, and thanks again! =)
Thanks guys! I love Plants vs Zombies, was 'inevitably influential' heheheh xD
Here a link, Recursor:
https://files.one.ubuntu.com/FkcVNBmpSoaHIvpphIuDVQ
(I put the source and the two versions)
Thanks for all the feedback! ^^
Unfortunately the time was sooooo short, the game indeed need a lot of 'calibrations' xD
And feel free to download the source!
Thanks again people!
I'm thinking now what would be improved in the game, thanks again for the feedback! It's very important to me! =)
And goerep, you will love the BGE now! I'm sure! Give it a try! Look at the BGE game projects in the Blenderartists.org forum, you will be impressed! =D
Very nice game! The genome gun is very fun, fit very well with the theme! ^^
nice graphics and music, but I got stuck in the frog part, can't jump higher even with up+right T_T
Nice! Another game running in the BGE! ;)
I think just the keyboard controls should be used, I had some problems with the mouse pointer, it just disappeared xD
Sorry my english ^^'
It's a very fun game! I liked!
Beautiful graphics =O
Very very veeeeeery inspiring!
Very nice idea, and fit well with the theme! I just think the test chamber needs more 'action', perhaps the possibility to put more than one tank, for example, definitely deserve a post-compo version!
I liked it, a little difficult, but very fun! Any chance for a downloadable version?
The game in Opera runs with some graphics bugs.
Greetings from Brazil! \o/
I agree with the others, was a little difficult to understand the gameplay, but the graphic and the idea was very nice! =)
So much fun! And addicting! Fit well with the theme too =)
Nice beat'em up, good graphics and very funny =)
Amazing strategy game! Very complex and polished! Congratulations! =O
Awesome game! Impressive work for a 48 hours game! =O
jaw dropping =O
amazing graphics and nice music! very epic!
Amazing game!
I couldn't beat the giant jellyfish. xD
Yes! Another BGE game! \o/
Took me awhile for destroy the house of the third pig xD
amazing game! loved the kitty mode! xD
Amazing game! Great music, good graphics and a very nice gameplay! Any chance for a downloadable version?
Greetings from Brazil! \o/
amazing game! very fun! I'm just a horrible manager! heheheheh xD
Awesome! The mood is pretty cool, the music is fantastic!
I like the character and his walk style, pretty cool!
thanks for all the feedback! =)
- JoeCool17, it's simple:
first: file > user preferences > addons > game engine > save as game engine runtime
second: file > export > save as game engine runtime
;-)
- Eniko, the game have a boss at the end! xD
Nice job with the BGE!
too hard xD
but pretty fun too! ;)
well polished for sure!
that sun is pretty cool too!
Addictive! Loved the comments of the main character xD
perfect mood, very mysterious =O
good job! ^^
damn you Google! >.<
difficult, but very fun and with nice choice of musics, greetings from Brazil! o/
hahahahahahah
amazing and very sadistic!
and the choice of music was... sick! xD
greetings from Brazil! o/
Very impressive and very inspiring =O
nice game!
and with a nice presentation too!
the concept of the 'z' and 'c' was quite unexpected,I thought that 'z' was frontal attack independent of the position of the character xD
inspiring! so beautiful =O
amazing job!
despite the already commented problems with the GUI, the game is pretty fun!
amazing pixel art graphics... and... about those sound effects... it will be better change them xD
really fun!
told you so! xD
love the mood and graphics, really atmospheric!
but was difficult to play... because of the controls
the camera doesn't help much, but was very fun and a very nice idea!
was a very different experience =O
quite unique for me
you should invest in this concept with something more acceptable for the masses...
maybe an adventure or some kind of puzzle with some live being, like a procedural character
sorry my bad english xD
really fun and have a deep atmosphere with that sounds and forms
a bit hard for me xD
good job!
really fun, quite addictive and well polished! good job!
Thanks for the feedback, I completely agree xD
I passed too much time making the graphics and the gameplay suffered because of that ^^'
Thank you all for the feedback, it's very important!
I uploaded a more specific example of the trick with the lines here:
http://blenderartists.org/forum/showthread.php?290443-Haunted-Dojo-%28Ludum-Dare-26%29&p=2368404&viewfull=1#post2368404
(it's quite simple! ^^)
----
user 'Someone', about the crashes... I'm really sorry, don't know how fix this =/
seems that the problem is in the .blend, but I made this game only with logic bricks, I have no clue about how resolve that kind of problem
please, if possible, try to play the game in another computer ^^'
the controls really made it difficult ^^'
but is a neat and original idea! plus have a BGE version! =D
well done! beautiful graphics! it will awesome if you put a single-player mode =)
really addictive and very challenging!
love the music and characters too =)
amazing art and concept, I played the web version
I tried to download via googledrive, but the link seems broken .-.
ops, now I saw the alternative link, sorry xD
Simple, very polished and pretty relaxing.
Loved it!
nice graphics and music, really helped the atmosphere
elaborate puzzles and a little scary too xD
the controls are a little weird, but love the sound and have graphics quite unique, remind me of Starfox for SNES
good job!
Amazing BGE game! Simple and with good level design!
the ice blocks level is pretty hard xD
Really fun! I didn't let him sleep! xD
Really really really fun! I reached level 12 ! xD
good game with a good idea =)
(but maybe some power ups could help ^^)
I like the game! (but is too fast for me xD)
some music would be cool too ;-)
I like the game! just the mouse here was a little sensitive
sorry my bad english! xD
a multiplayer game! =O
I like the concept and the procedural maze
maybe a addition of bots for a single-player mode could make the game more accessible ;-)
thanks for the feedback =)
for the LD, I always use only logic bricks, to make a 'mouselook' option is practically impossible without real coding, and even if made using only logic bricks, it probably will have a lot of problems
about the theme, the idea was to make a maze where traps and enemies appear at every ten seconds, or something like that xD
(sorry my bad english)
torvik88 and skiesgamingtv, thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you like the game!
and skiesgamingtv, really thank you for make a video about my game, you made my day more happy! =)
now I see that the dungeon need to be larger! xD
sorry my bad english
thank you for the feedback
KhaoTom, this for sure is some kind of bug!
the idea of Z and X was for not put the weapons selection on "1,2,3,4...", instead, "Z,X,C,V..."(but I did have only time for the melee and fireball attack, so, only Z and X ^^')
when you select the fireball, the quantity of mana is shown
when you select the melee, the mana will be hided
is that happened for you?
(and don't forget to attack with the ctrl! xD)
thank you all for the feedback
and KhaoTom, I'm glad that was not a bug xD
thank you all for the feedback
Acro, there are other games made in the BGE, not much, unfortunately =/
here some:

and all my entries (always using only logic bricks):
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/author/ramoncb/
you will find everything I made for this jam in the source file (all I did right AND wrong heheheh xD)
for this game, I start on the friday getting the theme and making a prototype only with cubes (so, I figured out what is the main idea and the gameplay, "the player" was pratically done )
I passed saturday and sunday focused in what I'm better, the graphics ^^', I didn't made concept art, so I started modelling like crazy, so, the process became a mess xD
made a trap, put on the game, now made a door, put on the game too
(yes, this way ^^')
by the night of sunday, I did all, except I still don't had made the enemy for the game! So, I did the model and texture of the snake by all the dawn and did all his logic (AI, how it hit, how hurt the thing) on the monday
at monday's night, I did the title screen, the music and I had to make a 'end game'
(very irresponsible xD~~~)
I think that the principal thing is start on the friday doing the most of possible of all the logic part of the game, run like crazy on the start and walk on the end! ;-)
about the python and programming, you are right, but I always try to make games using only logic bricks to get attention of the people for the BGE, it's a very powerful engine, with a very quickly and easy use of logic bricks... and people don't know this =/
(sorry my bad english xD)
thank you all for the feedback!
I started to work on a post-LD version thanks to you! ;-)
good execution and a unique idea
is a very nice puzzle and is very challenging too! good work!
nice game! have a mysterious atmosphere!
maybe the right click for the browser version could change, because of the config menu
sorry my bad english ^^'
nice game! love the genre =)
Have a interesting approach about the theme too! I just think the turn left and right could be A/D, and strafe be Q/E
(sorry my bad english ^^')
nice approach about the theme, very smart!
the audio makes the game really fun!
and made with the Blender Game Engine! \o/
amazing work! Is a really deep adventure with a mysterious setting and the atmosphere made by the graphics and audio really expand the experience
good job! (and sorry my bad english xD)
I think that maybe too much hints can break some of the experience
I like the way the game was made
plus, have a mysterious atmosphere
(sorry my bad english)
very impressive!
well polished and with an interesting approach about the theme
nice graphics, audio and presentation! congratulations!
Good idea!
I like the way you made the games, like one complete experience! Congratulations!
incredible game!
well polished and very complex and fun, congratulations! =)
I like the game!
maybe a option to shoot with the mouse would give the game a more fast pace
(sorry my bad english xD)
I like the graphics and audio, the gameplay is simple but those turrets are really challenging!
You should keep using the BGE!!! =)
love the gameboy graphics style! it is really beautiful =)
I didn't save the girls xD
simple but really fun! parabéns! =)
the player is a little hard to control, jump forward is a bit difficult, but like Paidgeek already said, probably is intentional
simple but very fun and challenging!
amazing game with a amazing setting! well polished too!
I like the feeling of nonlinearity and something procedural, very addictive!
I just think that perhaps the gameplay is too fast
but really love the idea, good work!
nice game! simple and fun!
maybe the red boxes need to be a little smaller ;-)
I love old-school fps
Nice game, keep working on it!
amazing! a multiplayer game is a accomplishment for sure!
please, add bots for a single-player option ;-)
(sorry my bad english xD)
simple but fun!
I'm a disaster in smash buttons xD (I just keep dying and dying)
parabens! =)
nice use of the theme, make a interesting mix of adventure and the time limit mechanics, really fun, I wanted the game was bigger =D
(sorry my bad english xD)
An addictive puzzle game, perfect for mobile!
And an unique approach about the theme too! A little creepy! xD
thanks for the feedback
people, can you tell me more about your computers? You are running the game on Windows or Linux? THe game just crash or show some error?
I need to figure out what is up with all this crashes >.<
Ouch, more problems xD
I got now a laptop with the same problem, tried run the game in administrator mode; had installed the Visual C++ redistributable 2008 and 2010 and...none of that solved the problem ^^'
should be no problem with python (you don't need the Python 3.3 to run the game, all you need are in the '2.70' folder, so...)
my last bet is with OpenGL support from the graphics card, but I do have a Radeon 5870, and got no problems here (and that old laptop seems to have all drivers up to date)
I honestly don't know what I messed up this time, sorry guys =(
thank you Sparrow =)
I also can confirm, is some kind of problem between Blender and the OpenGL support of the card, I have actualized the drivers of the old laptop for the latest and could make the game run... but not very playable:
http://abload.de/img/pictureqlzvs.png
oh boy, a lot to fix in the future ^^'
I liked what I played!
Cute graphics and nice music, and is a BGE game! =D
I was a little confused for what to do at start, passed some time just following the little guys, sorry my bad english ^^'
I liked the atmosphere of the game, the sounds and the screen distortions really drag you in the game.
Very solid entry, good work! (sorry my bad english ^^')
Nice and quite unique mix between metroidvania and an adventure game!
And a smart approach about the theme too
An inventory and some 'archive folder' (for read the clues again) would be very useful!
Maybe the stealh part need more than just sound... something more visual, perhaps an eye 'opening' above the head?
Anyway, nice game and sorry my bad english xD
nice entry!
always good see more people using the BGE!! =D
but as ceosol said, the windows version doesn't have the executables ^^'
I liked what I played, nice audio and screen effects for sure !
I liked the gameplay and controls too, but can't go further;
was my fault, I'm so bad when fighting the disturbances xD
(sorry my english ^^')
quickly fun, quite addicting when you go further
the indicator of how far the goal are... is a good idea, but should be capable of turn off, the tension made it more fun
(sorry my bad english ^^')
I think someone already told you but... this is indeed an amazing idea! =D
Also, thank you for sharing all that cool stuff too! And sorry my bad english ^^
crazy how yours and mine entry are look alike =O
except that your entry are much more polished and have a lot more content too xD
good job! and sorry my bad english ^^'
Thank you all for the feedback ! =)
I can guarantee that the choice of music was only for cheer you up in your journey! xD
The platforming somehow was intended...."they are like paper"... but maybe was not a good choice =P
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the game! Thanks!
Hi guys! =D
I just wanna say thank you all for the feedback! I didn't expect being in a position so high in the Theme category! =O
I need to play more games, sorry about that ^^'
I will improve my 'Coolness' in the future!
Now really, thank you all!!! =)
I liked what I played, but 'blind jumping' in this kind of game is dangerous, maybe the camera should show more of the ground ;-)
Overall, good job! And put some music in it! =)
Have potential to be something quite unique!
Good job! And keep working on it! ;-)
Simple but very very addictive! Good job!
I don't have a Android device, I played with an emulator ( called Andy xD )
Very solid entry!
Has a quite unique concept, looks complex at first but after you play the tutorials (and understand how to use the probes and move the animals with the hoover) the game become really fun!
The game really do a great job with the theme, plus nice music and some very cool concepts of animals! Very good job!
Sorry my bad english ^^
the game has a really 'tied' gameplay! (sorry the bad joke! xD)
really nice! good job!
I missed 18 xD
really fun and well presented! good job!
Wow, a multiplayer game! =O
The concept is really good, but I had to play alone (with two browsers), so my experience is a little different; I had to step one character in the red platform, then play with the other one in another window...
but I do believe that with two player will be an amazing experience, really following the theme in quite a unique way! Good job!
Incredible concept! The game looks like a shoot 'em up but plays very different, quite a neat idea! It's a 'management 'em up' !!! (sorry my bad joke xD)
I love the graphics too, kinda remember the pixel-art of 2D DOS games, really cool! =D
good job and sorry my bad english! ^^'
Hard for me (I'm not good with precision movements xD) but yet very fun!
Maybe the hitboxes should be a little smaller? Or some places at the beginning levels should have some 'safe areas' ;-)
I like the music (was made with Otomata?), but it need a proper loop ;-)
Ah, and beautiful pixel-art! Really good!
Surreal indeed ! xD
After the 60 seconds the game became really challenging =O
Good job!
don't say those things! xD
was a good start and I liked the trip! I just couldn't find a exit of the forest xD
20 seconds \o/
The sound helped me alot ;-)
Three beeps for each planet until 10 seconds, then two, then one, then the planets became too fast for me xD
Simple but very challenging! Good job!
Impressive! =O
Very polished and beautiful (and nice musics too)! Congratulations!
You should really make an extended version! ;-)
The game has a very good presentation about the things! =O
A little difficult to me ^^', but fun nonetheless! Good job!
The buttons could be a little bit larger, was difficult to click ^^'
Nice game! and complex for a compo entry, good job! =O
and sorry my bad english ^^'
Thank you all for your feedback!
I have been busy this month, sorry about being late with ratings ^^'
Again, thank you all! =D
Impressive work! Beautiful pixel art, and dialog, and so many rooms =O
You should totally put some sound in it! Anyway, good job! =)
Is indeed a very nice concept, but maybe things are a little too small ^^'
I think a zoom button can be a good solution and yet don't be out of the theme ;-)
Anyway, good job and sorry my bad english ^^'
Have a unique presentation with it, is two games in one!! Quite complex for a compo entry!
Good job! =D
A little confusing at the beginning but once you understand how it works, the game become quite addicting! Truly unique! Good job! =)
(and sorry my bad english ^^')
Simple but addicting! Good job! =)
Really nice! =D
Cool graphics and music, simple but yet really fun! Good job! =)
Wow, really hard! But it is good!
Nice retro/CRT graphics too! Good job! =)
Good job! =D
I think you should make an executable! It's easy:
File > External data > Make all paths relative
File > User preferences > Addons > Game Engine > Save as Game Engine runtime
File > Export > Save as Game Engine runtime
;-)
uberscientist, here a windows version (blender 2.72b 32bits) :
http://www.filedropper.com/final-screenwindows
=)
Really unique!
With some polishment in the UI, it will become a very powerful experience!
Good work! And sorry my bad english ^^'
Neat!
One of the most different games I've played! Good job =)
Good job! =)
Indeed moving in diagonal seems important for this game
I think those buttons on screen are unnecessary, your game is already in only one screen, but I do understand the mood you wanted with that, so, forget my complaint xD
Greetings from Brazil! =D
A multiplayer game for the compo! Really impressive!
The controls are a little complicated at the beginning, I think the shoot button fit more on the mouse and the blink on the spacebar ;-)
Overall, good job and sorry my bad english! ^^'
Very nice! Simple but quite fun!
The only thing is that I did not feel that I was punished by wrong choice of actions. There was always actions to be collected. Maybe in the future would be cool add some score for accuracy, wise use of the items.
Anyway, good job!
I reached to 500... with only one escape! xD
It's really an endurance challenge, maybe in the future would be cool to have power ups, jumps from ladders, etc. ;-)
Good job!
Damn, maybe the ships are too fast for me xD
But it's fun and the pixel art is very cool! Good job!
It's simple but it is very fun!
The idea of let the enemy survive, for that your ship can grow, plus controlling the number of enemies to avoid too much bullets, is a neat concept.
Only thing that bugs me is that the danger, the enemy's bullet, have the same color of the enemy (who is not exactly a danger).
Anyway, good job!
Very impressive, love the atmosphere, maybe in the future will be a very interesting "resource management" kind of game. Good job!
I know that the BGE has problems with AMD cards, but here worked fine (HD5870). If someone have problems, please try to update the openGL drivers.
Nice! Only thing is that the pizzas are generated too fast at very start. Wonderful choice of music and sound effects! xD
Good job!
Impressive!
There's a lot of content, voice acting, and a well polished presentation, even for the Jam.
You guys should totally keep working and improving this game! Good job!
Very impressive! =O
Fits perfectly with both themes, and is both simple and quite addicting! Congratulations! =)
Very impressive art! =O
And the history is interesting, I wanna know what happened next, after "the future is in your hands" !! ^^
Good job!
The questionnaire was very fun to complete =D
The shooting level was too much easy... but fun! Loved the robot voice, add some comments with her in the shooting part! ;-)
Simple but super fun. Keep working on it! Seems to be a good game for mobile ;-)
Fits very well with the theme! Maybe in the future would be cool if you introduce some NPCs to talk to ;-)
Good job! =)
The setting is really cool, have a nice use of the theme! It's very polished for a compo entry, the rain and music brought an "urgency" for the situation. I do had a little difficulty to stop the villagers xD
Anyway, good job!
Fits well with the theme! Simple but fun to play. Good job!
Impressive! I think it's very polished even for the Jam.
The conecpt is very cool and is quite addicting. Plus, there are diferrent modes!
Good job!
Very impressive! Probably was quite challenging to figure out how to make this puzzle, trying to make it works like real physics. You totally should keep working and improving this game, good job!
A top-down shooter using only mouse is quite a challenging idea, even more with procedurally generated levels. I think the execution was pretty good for a compo entry.
Good job!
Quite hard, I think some improvement could make the game more fun in the future:
- No fall of the map, seriously! You are punishing the player in the wrong way, he want to explore!
- Those spines and enemies can blend with the assets of the level, that's not good. Try to differentiate the danger using contrast (color, shape, etc), this is very important
- Maybe the character move too fast and jumps too little
- This kind of game need a checkpoint system, like Super Meat Boy. Those kind of system is what make the game addicting, people lose the fear of dying and start trying to figure out what to do to traverse that obstacle, they start to look at that as a puzzle
Anyway, very impressive work! 2D games in BGE is not easy to make!
Good job and sorry my bad english! ^^'
It's simple but is very fun! Good job!
As people already said, maybe in the future would be cool if the game have a penality for miss the beats, maybe in the score, or some "accuracy" percentage bonus.
The game do have a interesting concept, with the virus and the mass. But I do confess, I don't understand how to play properly ^^'
The small cells should be visually distinct, since they are items. The concept of lose mass in a game where exploration (with all dark and that cool sonar) doesn't match very well. You want people to explore, don't punish them because of that. Even more in a procedurally generated level.
Anyway, good job! Keep working in this game!
Impressive! Your entry is probably the most well polished that I have played until now!
The graphics are just perfect, the only complaint is the lack of v-sync in fullscreen (with alt+tab). The gameplay is addicting, in a future update you could make some upgrades for the horse, like traps on his legs, maybe some itens like wood to fix a hole or build another platformer on him. I know is inaccurate, but maybe a giant as enemy?
Anyway, good job! And you should totally keep developing this game! Sorry my broken english. ^^
Good job! Loved the graphics, the style seems similar of some MS-DOS games, PC games from the 90's; but in a good way, they could be a good reference if you want to develop this game further.
The title screen need an info about how to start the game, you could write 'press Enter to start' or change the input for spacebar/F/R.
In my opinion, the keyboard controls are complicated, two hands too much close one of each other, change the A/D to arrow keys, R/F to D/F, this could to be better.
About the gameplay, I think that the jump could be higher. For a future update, maybe would be cool to have some more combat mechanics: like defend on the exact moment of a enemy starting an attack, with one (quick) hitbox at the beggining of the player defense, if this hitbox collide against the enemy attack hitbox, make the player automatically counter-attack, like thrusting with the shield.
Keep up the good work! And sorry my broken english. ^^'
Good job! The idea of upgrade the character with some sort of rpg stats instead of "get money and buy upgrades" is neat, maybe in the future you could add an inventory with potions or equipment to improve those stats.
I know it is unrealistic for a bow, but maybe would be better not have to hold the left button to shoot, you already have to upgrade the attack speed. Another thing: those spiders and rats are just too fast, maybe I'm just bad but you should really let the player move in a future update, I was pretty much dead in all waves. ^^'
Keep working on it! And sorry my bad english. ^^
Good job! It's quite addicting!
For a end user...the math part of the puzzle may be frustrating, not everyone is fast with math. Perhaps if you change the number for something, like coins, could be better? Like this: each product is a red/blue/green coin; it will be like six coins at max, right? Much more fast to calculate.
Also, I saw that you tried to teach the player on the go, this worked with the alcohol/kid stuff; but for teach the rotate mechanic would be better if it was only one large product for a more horizontal bag, and a pop-up text about this.
One more thing: maybe starting a new timer to do the math (after complete the bag), could be better?
Anyway, the game is good and you should keep working on it! Sorry my broken english. ^^
Good job! Create a puzzle game for the compo is challenging!
For a future update, the game could use some visual hint about where to use the torch and the soup, like a arrow for example. Some text/action triggers could been bigger, or the text automatically be shown when the player get near. Maybe highlight even more the objects and force the player to remember how to build the axe and ladder.
Keep working on it! And sorry my broken english. ^^'
Good job! The music has the right mood and was fun to watch the characters interacting with each other.
I think that the game have potential; the survival elements of the gameplay could make it really fun, maybe also adding some crafting system to objects, for example, with the dino and pig bones you build an axe to cut the tree.
Keep up the good work! And sorry my broken english. ^^
Good job! The game have a very cool mood, it's a dark-cyberpunk-zelda-dungeon!
First of all: don't close the game when I die!
The character already have disadvantage against the sentries, he is in the dark, when he sees a sentry it's almost too late, he probably will have to dodge a bullet; until here this mechanic is alright. But by decreasing the lighting when the player is already getting hurt... is no good, the moment he is in need to avoid a bullet... his field of view is getting short, 'it's already hard and getting even more hard'.
Maybe in a future update, the crates could look for how much hearts the player have; if the answer is only one (or a half), drop another heart. Also, the sentry don't need to hurt the player after destroyed (or put some fire on the remains).
The game is cool and can become even more, and I think it's already impressive the fact that you made your own engine. Keep working on it! And sorry my broken english. ^^'
Good job, very atmosferic! As people have already pointed out, this entry seems a very nice start for a "first person puzzle + horror" experience.
It's tempting to imagine these robots exploring an alien planet; finding out a crazy cave that looks like a Salvador Dali painting! Then something goes really bad with the mission and so on.
You should totally try to build some puzzles and game mechanics around the sounds and lights that the robots can do! Maybe make that works like some form of language, add one crazy dialog system between them and some alien form. There's a lot of things you can do with you already have!
One thing: the rotation of the robots should not have acceleration, make it stop when the player release the key. I know that will make them less realistic, but changing this will avoid some people getting motion sickness.
Sorry my broken english! ^^'
Good job! You have implemented a lot of stuff, even for a jam entry! I imagine that was not easy to make the AI and day/night cycle!
I don't know much about how works the game mechanics for a resource management game but I think that things like 'technology' and 'defense' are important to be properly listed, since the battles are not won just by the size of the army.
Maybe in a future update you could list those things like ranks (A,B,C,D), and tell how much the tower (knowing one day before the attack) influences the defense. Also, tell the size and attack power of the barbarians. Perhaps the tutorial could be a little slower too.
I think you already have a good base to make the game even more complex and interesting. Keep working on it! And sorry my broken english. ^^
Good job! Create a game in only 30 hours, start-to-end, is already a feat! You managed to program by code (no logic-bricks, like in Gamemaker) the gameplay, and made a title screen and put some music!
About the physics, the character needs more friction, but what really worry me is the collision with the ground, it does look like that each tile has collision...
Maybe you should try to separate the graphics of the collision. Draw all tiles first, then create a big hitbox matching that group of tiles. It will be less collisions to check and will end the bug when the character suddenly stop.
Sorry my broken english. ^^
The game have a nice mood and quite a lot of content, including a boss fight! Good job!
You probably already know but there's something with the physics wrong. Not always I was able to jump, I don't know how do you confirms that the character is on ground but maybe casting two rays down, each one almost on the left and right edge of the physical body, could do the trick. If anyone of the two collides with ground you are ready to jump. Also, the falling speed (without the glide) seems too strong.
Maybe in a update you could improve the camera, make it follow the mouse cursor instead of the player? That will need some test. The orb moving to the cursor position is cool but... broke the game, the enemies are no match for her! Maybe adding some time limit to this, or making that mechanic become a power-up would be better.
Also, the life time of the arrows should not vary for the same kind of enemy, the player will expect one behavior and will see another; do make one archer with a different color (for him and the arrow), or some statue spitting a fireball. The player can stay above the birds, perhaps this is an opportunity to use them as moving platforms; maybe you can hide itens on a high place that can only be reached using the birds!
Keep up the good work! And sorry my broken english. ^^
First of all, the graphics are impressive! All the lighting and animation! Good job!
You probably already know but the character needs friction, he's too fast! It seems that the game will have a lot of puzzles using physics simulation, so you gonna need that interaction with objects to be really tight. I figured out that I need to put that reflexive rock on the cart... but couldn't make it happen, maybe I'm just terrible, but I really tried ^^'
I think that not everything need to be physics based, the cart could get just the x of the player and use it to move with him, the rock could automatically align with the cart too. Think about the way the old 2D Zelda/Castlevania had physics.
Another thing: maybe you should test the controls with the arrow keys instead of WASD+Space... I personally think that 2D platformers kind of not fit very well with the first-person scheme, but you shouldn't mind with my preferences! You probably will want to implement control configuration and this will be enough.
Keep up the good work! And sorry my broken english! ^^
Good job! Mixing a top-down shooter with resources management seems a very good idea, this can be quite addicting with further development.
Maybe in the future you could add an HUD with point-and-click options to build stuff, an animation for the player when he gets hurt, and I really think that this game will work better with guns/ammo and upgrades for both player and the created bases.
Keep up the good work! and sorry my broken english! ^^'
Good job!
In this kind of game, the character needs to be a little more faster than the enemies. Think about Doom (1993), but top-down. The only true advantage of the player is just that he is faster, is not in the health bar/guns/power-ups.
Talking about power-ups, maybe in a future update, you could add some itens, or the classic "money + buy upgrades between wave of enemies", those things are key to making this kind of games addicting.
Sorry my broken english. ^^
