You're right about the gameplay, arcade demands calibration, and we did not have the time to balance properly the spawning.
Babies should come and kill campers. I would have loved to add zombies coming from the back too.
Maybe we will update it a little later.

I'm more than agree with you.
I'm a huge fan of hardcore plateforme shooter, from the early shinobi or megaman to katana nagari.
Sharp control is the key to pleasure and skill in all those great game.
I will definitly try to find the tim to adjuste those controls, camera and spawning issues.
My base idea was to record previous ghost and then lt you play along will difficulty was incrasing.
I though it was to tricky for a short dev so i turn to an opposite direction : let the first be the more difficult, you score x7 at first life, and x1 with the last one.
So the skilled player could try to focus to score without ding.
Ho man, i'v got so many ideas about weapon evolution/combo, air based vs ground control...
I guess i will ahve to make another whole project based the exprienced gaine in this LD20, maybe next ludum ?
Tricky camera spoils the experience =[
Not really related to the theme, the gameplay isn't breathtaking, but the music and the animations are pure awesomeness !
a few ideas>
.put a visual sign on the circle in order to see the world moving.
. expand the fighting gameplay with blocking, others making the world turn...

About the gameplay :
the aim was to create a very contemplative and relaxing game. Having something pleasing to watch and exciting to control was the first step.
Unfortunately we didn't have the time to implement the core gameplay : Chain, boost, level up and such features demands much more work in order to have a positive experience based on pure scoring.
We were afraid that death would crash the contemplative mood, so we've chosen to deliver a proof of concept that playing with the hero could be satisfying.
Rez, radiant Silver gun, ikaruga or journey was on our mind. but those kind of gameplay demands level design and fine tweeking.
maybe we will find some times to create an enhanced version and port it on touch devices.

as i said on my journal and here, we only had 48h.
the main objective was to create the proof of concept. the actual gameplay is purely contemplative aka it's an eye candy whose let your mind flow without real purpose.
I do have a very clear gameplay with chains, evolutions (actually your skin is changing when you do good or bad but no direct boost of stats) and much more.
But we sadly did not had the time neither the motivation due to 48 hardcore hours and a monday work waiting for us =)
Peaceful mood ! reminds ms of the good ol' ecco the dolphin.
I was a bit sad beeing maxed after lvl3, i would have loved to keep on evolving.
The games runs fine in html5. congrats.
Great compo, the mood is freaking top notch. The gameplay is a bit confusng but i guess it helps make the game even more moody.
