LD22 — Alone

An Empty Room by Cosr 2012-01-09T14:35:00

very awesome concept, but I have no idea how to not die. I made lots of noise and it sort of kept the dots at bay for a couple seconds...then I died again. Cool use of microphone though, VERY original :)

Alone by Frimkron 2011-12-27T15:53:00

I can't run this one either...

10 Yards Alone by TimBeaudet 2011-12-27T16:01:00

This was really fun! :) Great audio and graphics, reminded me of some classic NES or Atari action. Awesome. I did notice a crash/bug when I lost a game though. The game didn't crash when I won or tied, but I got the "This program has stopped working" error when I lost. Good job!

In the Dark by easlern 2011-12-27T16:06:00

nice and creepy music!

The Fruits of Solitude by Cooshinator 2011-12-22T02:12:00

Wow, good stuff. I couldn't figure out what to do, and when in open water there was no sense of movement. The horizon was still, and the water was just blue, only the boat and guy animated. I loved the music and the graphical style though! :)

Inkompleet Shootiefing by bluescrn 2011-12-20T22:47:00

Unfinished, but very playable and fun. Great graphics and sound to boot. :D

Alone with Aliens by Pixelgel 2011-12-27T16:17:00

pretty fun, but very hard to tell what is what on the screen. I died quickly, but took two aliens with me! haha :)

Statue by zazery 2011-12-27T16:27:00

pretty cool game. I like the graphics a lot. I was able to get stuck inside the top mountain bit of the cave and had to restart :( My only nitpick is that more sound effects or ambient sounds would have made the game way more enjoyable. Well done :)

I don't want to be alone! by nilstastic 2011-12-27T16:30:00

is that Mr. Peanut? haha. Pretty interesting entry, although it's also pretty bare. Interesting mechanic with rings for flight.

Senile Quest I by Yoni 2011-12-27T16:40:00

Dude, awesome! Very fun game :)

Cat Vend by devinmoore 2011-12-27T16:34:00

wow....hahaha. I could never catch the cat. EVER.

Final Trip Soccer by Benjamin 2012-01-01T21:35:00

Nice job!

Last breath by deepnight 2011-12-31T19:49:00

excellent entry. Very creepy, and very hard! Love it.

Aloneman by glowingredhue 2012-01-07T18:46:00

nice work! Very fun. Reminds me of jumpman lives! :D Great music too.

Temple of Loneliness by alexquantum 2011-12-22T01:16:00

Your HowTo screen ruined the surprise :P hah.

Very neat concept, like Sokoban and gladOS had a baby. My only beef is that dying made me restart the whole game, including the "tutorial" levels. Otherwise, very enjoyable.

Extra points because we apparently have the same laptop model! :)

Dark Isolation by ekun 2011-12-22T01:41:00

very nicely done. It took my back to Kroz days :D

Alone In Space... by Sandcrawler 2012-01-07T18:39:00

cool sounds! I found the controls very annoying :\

Minicraft by Notch 2011-12-31T19:48:00

very fun game to play, but I really wish I could respawn...bawwww. I just got into my first cave, and needed more slimes. Went hunting for slimes, and found zombies. Too many, and no apples = death. heh. Good fun!

Station 7 by quadtree 2011-12-22T02:02:00

Nice work! I couldnt get past the big spring/core thing. I kept getting hit by sparks. In that part, i also found it hard to aim the robot into the door straight. It kept getting stuck on the edge.

Good job, very interesting game!

Snowfall by Guns_Are_Toys 2012-01-07T18:58:00

I too am a member of the "Could not find the main class: Snowfall. Program will exit." club :\

Depressive by caribou 2011-12-20T13:46:00

Dude, awewsome! hahaha

Depressive by caribou 2011-12-20T13:48:00

such fun!

Lonely Planet by nddrylliog 2011-12-20T22:41:00

Linux only? :(

Lonely Planet by nddrylliog 2011-12-22T01:07:00

Score!

Super neat concept, and interesting graphical style :) I played for a bit but kept clipping out of the level and dying on the "first real mission, don't disappoint". Fun though!

The Snubbing of the Squid by James Paige 2012-01-07T18:57:00

Hah, awesome ending (thanks for the readme tip on it :)). Very funny, and great audio :)

Terra Dua by lectvs 2012-01-07T18:43:00

the game loop speed is waaaay to fast. I move and jump at 100 miles an hour. Once I got in the cave, I couldnt get back out because the controls fired too fast. Jumping precisely was impossible :(

Puppy Shelter by increpare 2011-12-31T20:34:00

not bad, but the cruelty would have been way more effective had you given the player some method to save some puppies. Having no power or choice just makes it a necessary and boring mechanic. Give me the power to save some puppies however, and not all puppies, and I'd feel more guilty as I have to choose which puppies to put down.

My own footsteps by mcc 2012-01-07T18:51:00

neat :)

Lost in the Woods by ratboy2713 2012-01-09T14:51:00

cool entry! I couldn't figure out how to not die with dynamite though. Some more hints or warnings about traps and things that kill me would be nice.

Lost in the Woods by ratboy2713 2012-01-09T14:54:00

also, awesome community content! :)

Nothing But Stars by wbobeirne 2012-01-09T14:58:00

I can't get it to run. I double-click the exe and nothign happens. But I can run other XNA/.NET entries fine :( Any ideas?

Atlantic Flight ONE by Tritax 2011-12-22T01:25:00

keypad only? But I only have a laptop! :(

Alone in the Gloom by hulahulahest 2012-01-07T18:33:00

nice job, very cool!

'malone? by Norgg 2012-01-09T14:31:00

darnit i can't get it to run :(

First by JH 2012-01-09T15:16:00

One of the best entries I've played. Amaaaazing work. I actually wanted to finish it and see what happened. Great, great job! :)

The Grey Waste by Kharza 2011-12-20T19:33:00

Super cool aesthetic! I love the creepy dark look and sounds :) I too ran out of ammo before encountering enemies.

Kitty Crusade by edibletoaster 2011-12-20T18:23:00

Hmm, it says I need the August 2008 version of direct X to run this game :(

Kitty Crusade by edibletoaster 2011-12-27T15:44:00

Finally got it working. Pretty cool, but the physics are very frustrating at times. I stopped playing after I died the 20th time on the 3rd or 4th level. Love the audio and theme related aesthetic :)

The Wizard Who Stumbled by Myyyvothrr 2012-01-09T15:40:00

interesting play on zombie theme. I like the mechanics. The collision detection got a bit sticky and made things more difficult, but well done over all :)

ZED Survivor by faijdherbe 2012-01-09T15:33:00

nice work! I would have loved some sound and ability to fire on an angle. awesome day/night cycle and progressive difficulty. I like the weapon variety too. Cool stuff!

Alone in the Dungeon by guzzungo 2012-01-09T15:25:00

great path finding, but the controls are frustrating a bit. I did beat it though, so it must have been interesting :)

Skull Hunt by Kelly Thomas 2012-01-09T15:21:00

Very cool music and audio. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the skulls. Both the throw and collect buttons threw stuff, so I couldn't beat it :\

Lonely Thought by Awennor 2012-01-09T15:03:00

This doesn't really feel like a game, and is kind of boring after the first stage. I think there is potential in the idea though, perhaps more time and a more fun mechanic would make it better :)

Robot Armageddon! by Raptor85 2011-12-20T22:53:00

Great work :) And amazing community effort. All those binaries plus timelapse! (FYI it seems to be broken on youtubes)

Thrown Away by Ethanh59 2011-12-22T02:03:00

your website seems to be down :(

The Place by Snuffypot11 2011-12-20T22:08:00

Nice work man! I love the graphics. Is that real 3D or simulated with sprite/location calculations? The collisions did get a bit annoying, but I still beat it and had fun :)

Friend-Bot by Zedreth 2011-12-22T02:16:00

Very cool! Love the music. I found the collision a bit hard on the holes that you had to fall though. But neat concept and great visuals and music!

Do NOT Hug Me! by ziomorti 2011-12-22T01:36:00

hahaha, very fun! I love the little hug me sounds. And once I found out what the power ups did it was an extra dimension of fun. Need moar bombs! :)

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2011-12-20T18:28:00

thanks for your feedback! :)

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2011-12-21T12:43:00

Yes, definitely agree. I also want the avatar to move around a lot faster, and populate the level with more stuff. Time ran out though. Thanks for your feedback, eld! :)

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2011-12-24T15:49:00

Thanks SonnyBone and vubuntu! :D

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2011-12-25T13:35:00

Thanks wally2069. You guys have inspired me to keep working on this one!

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2012-01-01T22:34:00

Thanks for your feedback and bug report, Benjamin! :) That was one of the bugs I was trying to squash in the final moments of the compo. I put in a hack for level switching but it overlooked the avatar being there persistently, and was check it's variables without it actually being there (d'oh!).

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2012-01-01T22:34:00

Thank you Suese! :)

Leave Me Alone. Never Leave Me Alone. by whilefun 2012-01-09T14:14:00

@Raptor85 Any specific errors, or does it just crap out?

@defiantburrito Thanks! I think I missed the fun boat a bit for sure. It's a bit serious, and simulation-ey.

Aurea Oceanus by bompo 2012-01-09T14:47:00

Awesome! I could only get to 6/10 gold, and died a few times. But never from no oxygen...the shark got me! :)

Rover's Spirit by Robmaister 2011-12-20T19:00:00

Won't work for me either, windows 7, 64 bit. The error details say:

Rover's Spirit by Robmaister 2011-12-20T22:40:00

Huh, i tried all that and when I tried to add an exception, I got an error that says

"This program must run with data exception protection (DEP) enabled. You cannot turn off DEP for this program."

Well that sucks. :\

Rover's Spirit by Robmaister 2011-12-21T12:42:00

oh snap, that might be it. I've got VS on my system. I'll give that a try once I get back to my compy :)

Rover's Spirit by Robmaister 2011-12-22T01:00:00

Man, I am glad I was persistent. I tried it on my other laptop also on windows 7 but no VS and it worked.

Awesome job! Great sounds.

OMFG FFS will you LEAVE me ALONE by yerahmeel 2011-12-21T12:48:00

Duuuuude. Awesome job! What a great fun game, and I love the concept and humor! :D

Coclution by cirolve 2011-12-22T01:54:00

very cool aesthetic, but it was a bit too dark. I got lost at the 2nd purple door, and it was all pitch black :\ Cool though!

Wait up guys by pushpork 2011-12-20T22:15:00

Anything else I need to install? It wont work in chrome 16.0.912.63 m

It just opens to a black page, with the instructions, but no graphics or sound

A dark dream by 0x64 2012-01-09T14:39:00

interesting concept!

Alone vs Monster(s) by Ender241 2011-12-22T02:07:00

Pretty fun, although the jumping and sticking was a bit hard to work around. Original graphics! :) Good one!

Stelo by saveferris 2011-12-22T01:08:00

holding off until the bitly concerns are addressed. Screenshot looks neat though :)

Stelo by saveferris 2011-12-27T15:48:00

Cool tech demo and music, but not really a game (per your comments above). Any future plans for it?

Am I Alone? by semaperepelitsa 2011-12-22T01:20:00

514 zombies and Godlike! Nice. :) Very fun gameplay

Any plans to polish up the graphics and sound?

Alone by Lilleman 2011-12-22T01:46:00

I found the lack of scrolling very very confusing. At first I thought I was just stuck on the side of the building.

I like the zombie sounds :)

Loneliness by Vit 2011-12-22T01:49:00

says I'm missing libstdc++-6.dll. I'm running windows 7

The Amazing but Lonesome Adventures of Greg the Spaceman by dem0 2012-01-06T04:57:00

super awesome wicked graphics. But I found the game waaaaay to hard. Couldnt get past the first level :( Cool that you included the editor too! well done!

Alone in Space by fakeshadows 2012-01-06T04:44:00

kinda cool, although I found I never died. I ended up stock piling over 50 missiles with nothing to shoot at. Cool alone/space vibe though :)

WEIRDLY ALONE. by xilefian 2012-01-06T04:52:00

excellent entry! I found the ghost very hard to get past, and died. But up to that point the game is great! :) very nice gameboy-esque graphics too. well done.

The Maze by KillerCanine 2012-01-06T05:02:00

Interesting concept, and awesome that you also made a level editor. However, I couldn't really figure out what to do. I just ran away from the slimes until I died...over and over. I was also confused by the spawner and thought it was the end square for a couple rounds.

Sandwich Quest by G 2012-01-06T05:07:00

awesome job, and very original idea! :D Worked on win7 64 bit for me

Loquere by AndyRoth 2011-12-20T22:49:00

Very funny and i love the narrative. Left puns for the win. :)

Together by SparkCloud 2011-12-20T18:17:00

Great job! I found the control scheme took some getting used to but it was neat once I got the hang of it. It would be cool to see some kind of "mode" indicator to show if I am using blue guys, etc.

I was able to use 64 bit windows 7 with no issues, but I have game maker installed. I wonder if that's it?

LD23 — Tiny World

Finger Attack by Toko 2012-04-28T18:50:00

very original concept! The game itself was really buggy for me for some reason. I could only spawn more than one soldier unit. and once the finger got to it, the finger moved slowly down off the screen then the game exited

Pixel Wars by Kalabasa 2012-04-28T18:54:00

nice game! Some more polish and this could be amazing fun. The game as is is still pretty great. Reminds me of starcraft, but teensy. Cool! :)

Tinysasters by Volute 2012-04-28T19:03:00

this is great! :D

World In A Bottle by Serilyn 2012-04-28T18:56:00

very original :)

ACTION SCIENCE DOG by bburbank 2012-04-28T18:17:00

i like the graphical and audio styling a lot. I could not figure out how to unload my items from the other world though. Barking as the main mechanism was neat

Tiny World Big War by dx0ne 2012-04-28T19:03:00

I tend to agree with graytest. Cool game, but not terribly engaging with respect to gameplay

Tiny Neutrino by Scott Baker 2012-04-28T18:22:00

very original concept, but it's quite buggy at times. I was able to beat the first level, and after that it locked up on me for some reason.

Tiny world on mercury by Marthog 2012-04-28T18:25:00

pretty fun! I couldnt keep up at the end, but that made it challenging. Pretty fun, simple mechanic too :)

Recluse by chambers 2012-04-28T17:54:00

so great! Very original. And challenging, but not like, NES challenging which is nice

Tiny Garden of Hope by steamgirl 2012-04-28T15:27:00

excellent! :D

microchip by DiscoFish 2012-04-28T18:24:00

very good game! I love the aesthetic around the glitches and the weird 8-bit glitchy sounds. Very cool mechanic too with the temporary platforms. I definitely wanted to (and successfully) beat this one :)

Planet Trot by Logan 2012-04-28T17:58:00

Pretty cool man! I wasn't sure what the end-game would be so after my planet got really big I just got wrecked by a scorpion lol

Stage 2 Chaos by skyboy49707 2012-04-28T19:18:00

pretty fun! Love the moody lighting/fog of war :)

Quest^3 by angryshroom 2012-04-28T18:28:00

nice concept and graphical style! I couldn't not die for more than a few encounters though. The world seemed to be a bit too randomized almost, i got lost and just ended up moving around trying not to die

Cosmicro by Knighty 2012-04-28T18:31:00

interesting game!

Lone World by Harrk 2012-04-28T15:27:00

Nice work! Impressive quality given 48h time frame

OWWW by moonmagic 2012-04-28T18:44:00

pretty cool. I like the sound/music and super low-fi graphics. I wish there were more levels though (the 2nd level in the post-compo was cool too)

BEEFWAR by crackerblocks 2012-04-28T19:08:00

holy sweetsauce this is maybe the most original game i've evern played! haha! Love the sound effects. And now I'm kind of hungry for some DEADBEEF.

Honey, I Shrunk the soldiers by Halfbus 2012-04-28T18:21:00

neat concept. I was not able to maintain all my guys on the screen, so I ran out. There was also a bug (?) where all the bugs overlapped each other in the middle of the screen. Good music!

PlanetSaver by zackhovatter 2012-04-28T18:39:00

pretty fun game. I could not figure out how to get all the rubies on each level. Time for another play-through!

LD24 — Evolution

Gravallax by Entity2D 2012-08-31T00:55:00

I found it really, really difficult to not die in the first minute or two. However, I really enjoyed the music and parallax backdrop of space. Good job :)

DeviLock by Misfit 2012-08-29T00:19:00

Fan-bloody-tastic entry. I LOVED the graphical style, and the music was great. Well done :) I couldn't get the web version to work (it was super sluggish) but the windows version worked just fine.

Box vs. Nature by pekuja 2012-08-28T12:54:00

The 4 way movement + 4 way shooting makes for some frantic gameplay. It's pretty fun! I lasted 3 rounds and killed 54 enemies. The music is pretty great too

Adaption by Tim Bumpus 2012-08-29T02:08:00

This is a really neat concept! However, the first mode that I discovered was the "turn based movement" and the speed of the controls made me so annoyed I almost stopped playing. Then I read the comments, and discovered some other stuff too. And I found a sword. Neat. I think overall if the game was a little snappier control-wise it would be more enjoyable. Seriously good idea though :)

CritterLab by berkano 2012-08-31T12:56:00

Pretty cool game! I really like how the idea fits the theme. It was fun to fiddle with different settings and see what happened. It had a good "sim" feel to it and I liked the music. I max'd out around 1350 population and 50 or so species! :)

Selectra by lazybraingames 2012-08-31T01:04:00

Duuuuude, fantastic entry! LOVED the graphical style and audio, and great use of the theme. Well done! :D

Aggrandize by phaze0 2012-08-28T23:56:00

I can't play it :( No Android...

EvolutionWar by Spouwny 2012-08-29T00:39:00

I liked it! However, some audio would have been nice. I found the balance of resources hard to manage, and I usually ran out of resources or workers after a few minutes. The idea of a tiny micro battle is neat though. You should expand on this game :)

Title Goes Here... by eShredder 2012-09-11T00:31:00

I really liked the visual style! :) I couldn't quite figure out how to kill the zombies though. I kept falling down and restarting :\

Primordial Soup by bytegrove 2012-08-29T01:14:00

This was a well executed idea :) I loved tacking on more globs of goo to my guy so I could shoot and move faster. I did find it hard to figure out where he was when the level was crowded with other guys. Good job :)

Slime Groove by cacciatc 2012-08-29T01:34:00

I like the super chunky pixel graphics! Some sound would have added a lot to the game. I also enjoyed the humor in the intro scene :)

Bitolution Love by tronster 2012-08-29T00:13:00

Very neat concept, and the first colour graphics were really cool looking. The music was also great. I got list after 8 bit as the girl in the woods seemed interactive, yet she wouldn't attack or let me level up. I found the controls with mouse kind of annoying, and would have preferred arrow keys. Good job overall :)

Evo Smash by Elemental Zeal Games Studios 2012-08-31T00:43:00

A pretty fun concept, and good audio. I found the gameplay a bit dull after a few rounds of evolution though.

Ameeba's by Vurb 2012-08-29T00:07:00

I think this had some potential, as the graphics and sounds were great. However, I couldn't get past the first area. And I fell off the edge to the right into the black abyss. I found the controls very frustrating. And when the Ameebas moved, they pushed me through the floor :\

Static by aquasheep 2012-08-31T00:47:00

very original idea. I didn't really know how to reach the goals of the game, but it was fun to just play around and make colours and shapes. Music was kind of fun too :)

Temporal Agent by Deykoweec 2012-08-31T12:58:00

don't have android :(

Badass by Sos 2012-08-29T02:17:00

Very funny! Clever concept. The gameplay was a bit "smash x to not die", but the humour definitely made up for it. The space level was the best...haha. :)

Prance Prance Evolution by Josh Riley 2012-08-29T02:22:00

Clever take on evolution, I think :) The lack of audio and animations kind of made the game feel lifeless though. Also, I think I found a bug - at the end I put down all my horses and the game crashed :|

RUN RUN AMOEBA by tigerj 2012-08-31T01:53:00

Cool concept! I died so hard every time! haha. I think it could have had snappier controls, and of course audio would have made it better. Good work! :)

OS: Evolution by zatyka 2012-08-31T01:39:00

I really liked the idea and mood. The controls made me frustrated when trying the smaller platforms though. I couldn't get passed the level with the flamethrower. I tried a couple dozen times and couldn't make the second tiny platform :(

TOWER OFFENSE by Graf_Grun 2012-08-29T01:45:00

SUCH funny dialogue during the tutorial :) I really liked the super crisp graphical style. I must admit, the game has a very slow pace, so I found it hard to reply more than a couple times. Good job though

Mutate by JPatrick 2012-08-29T01:58:00

Pretty cool game, but I found the controls and movement very frustrating. I also didn't get any mutations after a few levels, which made me wonder if I'd ever get them. If you tweak the controls/movement, I think it's got some potential for really being fun :)

Bigfoot Rescue by shines 2012-08-29T00:04:00

Haha, very fun voice effects. I like the concept, it's pretty funny, and not what I expected. Good music too. :)

Acquire Tophat by SasoriDama 2012-08-28T23:59:00

I like the concept of running to catch DNA things and evolving. I found the controls to be a bit sluggish feeling, and I couldn't ever run very far from the dude behind me. :\

Dragoneticist by Gidaio 2012-08-31T01:51:00

Pretty cool. I really liked the DNA strand animation! The best part of this is your description - "BUT IT'S AWESOME THAT WE DID THIS, EVEN IF IT SUCKS.". That's the key right there. Can't wait to see what your future entries are like! :)

Evowing by Cracky 2012-08-31T01:59:00

I really liked the feel of the tiny jets and the backing graphic was cool. Good music too! Well done :)

Gobbulator by tastive 2012-08-31T01:43:00

Cool concept, having to switch modes to pick up certain "food". The music was good too :)

Catching Life by Fadobo 2012-09-11T00:27:00

I liked the sound effects and the concept. However, I didn't quite get into the game play as it wasn't very fun for me. I think speeding up the game play or allowing for more time before you lose might help with the pacing and fun factor.

Do the Evolution, baby! by atraxgames 2012-08-29T00:23:00

it was...interesting. But I couldn't really figure out how to make the little dudes do stuff. I like the ridiculous humour. Some sounds would have helped the overall feel I think.

Robo[R]Evolution by NateNaterson 2012-08-31T01:33:00

Very cool intro narrative, and I loved the graphics and music. I found the game didn't progress as quickly as I thought it would, I the second time around, I wish I could have skipped through the the intro text. All around a fun game! :)

Hard Life 3X by echa 2012-08-29T01:01:00

Interesting concept! I like the snappy/bouncy feel of the controls, and that the border got smaller if I hit it. I couldn't get the second set of genes though. But I like the idea of different stats/upgrades with each gene. Very nice!

WTF Aliens!? by Gaeel 2012-08-29T01:52:00

It didn't really seem aligned with the theme, but it was a cool concept anyway. I liked the mechanic a lot, and the graphics and sounds were cool too. I was unable to beat match all the way though, but did unlock a few additional bits of music/rhythm. Nice job!

3 Apples High by Dayko 2012-08-28T23:55:00

not bad - I got 105 apples! I like the idea of having to watch the horizon for incoming apples. I did find that the game pace was too slow though. More frantic progression might add some more intensity and fun into the mix. Perhaps "X apples in a row" bonus with crazy reward or multiplier sound effects or something.

Existence : Evolving with Videogames by Richard Matey 2012-08-29T00:57:00

I really liked the first level, but I couldn't get passed the second "2d jumping guy" world. I kept getting stuck on seams, and I couldnt jump :(. Really good audio in the first world

Radioactive Space Bunnies by zimmy87 2012-08-29T01:18:00

Great music :) I liked the bunny's animation as well. After falling down the first major hole, I couldn't jump passed the spikes. I re-tried the level, but that section of it kept coming up, so I couldn't progress. Randomly generated levels is a cool idea though, and it seems to work with this game.

Guppies by Lord_Fluffy 2012-08-29T00:53:00

Best audio of the competition that I've seen so far! :D I found myself "feeling around" with my ears to hear when I bumped the walls, etc. Very well executed. I wasn't sure if the game had ended, but a white fish with no eyes (me, evolved I presume?) appeared for a second. Seriously great audio and mood though, wow.

Evolver Worm by PixelPusher27 2012-08-29T00:49:00

It was pretty great! The controls were a bit unpolished feeling, but I got a grasp of it and finished. The power ups could have stood out more, as the first level's yellow on baby blue background took me a bit to notice. One thing that happened on the first couple levels was that the keyboard input from the previous level continued and I instantly went off the edge of the screen. Well done overall! :)

Fantasy Map Tactics by McFunkypants 2012-08-28T12:40:00

This is pretty fun! I cannot win for the life of me though, haha. I got 7 of 15 once, which is decent. It's neat to see someone using html5 too. I love the graphical feel of the parchment and hand drawn map items. It's a great aesthetic :)

Strike of Rage ! by deepnight 2012-08-27T16:39:00

This was really fun to play. GFX and audio are top notch as usual :) One thing I did stumble on was difficulty curve. I demolished the first room, and the first couple people in the next room, then was unable to recover. Every time I got up I got knocked back again because there were too many guys in the small room. But I must admit, I will keep trying, because the combat has a nicely satisfying crunch. Good job!

Evolution of a monster by eld 2012-08-27T01:30:00

This looks amazing! But I cannot get the key to work in the lock :( It falls behind the door and is gone. The ambient sound is great too.

SEW by Cell 2012-08-31T01:25:00

I liked it. The screen shake effect was nice, but got craaazy when I had 3-4 turrets and mega magic fireball ability. It started making me dizzy :S Good music, and I like the "scene from Alien in the ducts with the flamethrower" vibe :)

Boxy the Boxcat in Evolution Escapades by matthias_zarzecki 2012-09-18T01:09:00

I really didn't like the sluggish controls, and I got stuck where I couldn't seem to evolve any more, and couldn't jump over the barrels/boxes. I liked the music, and overall quirky nature of the idea though. Rock and roll kittens!

Evo Towerwars by Rialgar 2012-08-29T00:35:00

Pretty fun entry. I would have loved to have some audio though.

'The Neon Pink Philosophy' by Zed 2012-08-31T01:15:00

Really good job! :) I loved the satirical story and voice acting. The graphics and music were great too.

Space Ham by FunByJohn 2012-08-29T01:38:00

pretty fun game :) I found the controls and overall game play got repetitive though. Neat idea with the tongue and movement being controlled separately but in parallel

Gems of the Evolving Land by RawBits 2012-09-18T00:59:00

Pretty neat visuals, and I like the old school "1 block at a time" controls. However, I couldn't quite figure out how to play properly (or at least I don't think I was playing properly). The minimap was cool.

Praepoch by Connor 2012-08-28T13:16:00

Wow, this is great. The combat mechanics took me a while to get working, and those bloody rhino things...i hate them! But I beat the game, and it was worth it. Well done :)

Life Forms by galman 2012-08-28T13:03:00

I thought this was really good. The music and parallax background made it just fun and moody to wander around and explore. One bit I think could have been better was the combat and labels on the cell types in store (how much the cost and what they do for your stats). I think that'd make this game even better. I got pretty far before dying, but I don't know how to max my stats or do combat effectively, so I don't know if I can beat other life forms. Well done :)

LudumVille by My Milked Eek 2012-08-29T01:08:00

Lovely music :) I liked the concept of the game. But I found it really easy to just buy/plant/sell and get rich. After a few turns, I had more money than I could spend.

Unevolved by Gameko 2012-08-31T13:03:00

The music and graphics were nicely done. However, the game doesn't really go anywhere after the first evolution. This has some neat potential though, I think. You should keep it going and finish it up :)

E-Motional Progression by jsjwooowooo 2012-08-29T00:32:00

Pretty cool concept, but the game kept crashing on me :\ The gfx and sounds were nice, and the intentionally frustrating starting controls were a neat idea. So hard at first, but fun!

Eatme! by AirRider3 2012-08-29T00:30:00

It's pretty fun! I could not beat hardcore mode for the life of me haha. I think it's strictly luck of the draw.

Thanks lazybraingames! I am really happy with it. I hope you enjoy your extended play through :D

Save The Memepool by whilefun 2012-08-29T00:41:00

@Kuulog - yeah, I discovered that book throw bug right after submission time ended :\

Save The Memepool by whilefun 2012-08-29T00:42:00

@Zed - Thanks - I think the rope is my favourite texture in the whole game, and it was the last one I added! hehe. The game definitely short. I wanted to make more levels, but ran out of time.

Save The Memepool by whilefun 2012-08-31T00:50:00

@Puzzlem00n Thanks! I picked Dawkins because of his "Selfish Gene" work, and how memetics was based on that. I wanted to incorporate more themes from The Ancestor's Tale as well (hence the rats) but didn't have time to elaborate as much as I wanted :) Thanks for playing!

Save The Memepool by whilefun 2012-08-31T00:51:00

@olav_st Thank you! :) I'm sorry the audio didn't work for you! Did you get any errors or anything, or was it just not producing sounds?

Save The Memepool by whilefun 2012-08-31T12:48:00

Thanks berkano! Good suggestion about music. It was definitely on my to do list for the compo :)

Thanks Fadobo! :)

Save The Memepool by whilefun 2012-09-17T17:02:00

Thanks for playing and your feedback RawBits! :) I didn't make the ending very obvious, but you did make it to the end. A better ending and a fix to that book throwing bug ware on the top of my fix-it list for sure.

Biods by daydalus 2012-08-31T01:41:00

I can't get the web version running either - windows 7, have silverlight up to date :(

Biods by daydalus 2012-08-31T01:47:00

Pretty cool idea. Experimental for sure, but I like your take on the theme. I also really liked all the tiny faces and modes of biods. Good job :)

Monkey Bowling by olav_st 2012-08-27T01:43:00

AMAZING job. Love it :D

Monkey Bowling by olav_st 2012-08-27T16:43:00

Revisiting now that I can officially rate it. Great game, I really like the use of the theme. I found myself laughing while playing, and actually wanting to play more if I died or had to restart. The banana boost mechanic is cool, and is introduced well, i think. One bit I think could be better is the crate movements. I got stuck 2 or 3 times trying to move the same one (it got pushed against the wall when I jumped). A "pull" ability would solve this. Maybe something to work in later if you keep working on the game (which you totally should!) :)

1002 by Eniimal 2012-08-31T00:37:00

Good music, and atmosphere. I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do after I went through the blue loops. The last one I saw was right near a planet, and then I got really lost, hit a planet, and went into a death spin forever :(

RED PLANET by BuffaloPhil 2012-08-29T01:26:00

Amaaaaaazing audio and mood! What a creepy, creepy game. Very well done! I couldn't get "outside" to meet the new cpu though. I walked back through every room to every corner, and even tried space-bar-ing every wall wolfenstein style. I want to finish! :S

LD26 — Minimalism

Burden by wilcort 2013-05-02T02:18:00

This was interesting, and definitely a bit creepy. I liked the graphical style and sounds. I too got stuck on the walls a lot, but got the hang of it after a little while.

INO by Nikich 2013-05-09T17:07:00

Very nice idea. Sort of like dynamic mine sweeper, or something. I had fun playing. I did find the controls a bit hard to grasp, as I am not used to using WASD in an isometric view like that. But overall, great. Excellent music, and nice use of the theme here.

Super Cowbell Text Adventure by Joeslayer97 2013-04-30T22:13:00

I got a glowing sword and killed a minotaur, then died at the hands of another, more vile minotaur. I found the commands a bit hard to learn on my own, but I guess they are there in he entry page so it's all good. Fun game :)

Composition with Yellow, Red, and Blue by DaveDobson 2013-05-05T16:50:00

Hah, I love the audio! "OH YEAH." :D Very interesting idea, too. I found the mechanic hard at first, but got used to it and it works well I think. I did have the blue block get stuck a couple times on the wall though, which meant I had to restart the level. The upside of course that the levels were nice and short, so it wasn't a hassle. Good work :)

The Room by olkeencole 2013-05-03T20:41:00

This was great! The audio was of course superb. One criticism I suppose is that the car crash sound was a bit too loud compared to the rest. Although it's a car crash sound so perhaps it should be that way. I also wish there was an ending (or perhaps there is but I think I played for a solid 15 minutes). Well done :)

Car Lancers by jwolf 2013-05-02T02:45:00

I thought the music was cool, but couldn't really figure out how to play properly. The cars never seemed to go at each other properly...it took ages :(

_M_ by GranaDa 2013-05-09T17:12:00

Neat visuals and audio, but I didn't quite understand how to play properly (I don't think). Interesting use of the theme. Love the audio and atypical graphical layout/style. Will have to give this one another try soon.

Planes by phaze0 2013-05-02T03:02:00

High score for me was 225! I thought this was very original, and pretty neat. I don't know if it was intentional, but the audio was coming from the rear channels. It was effective though as they made the game have a bit more aural depth.

Space Theory by Jens Nolte 2013-04-30T21:39:00

I can't run the game either. Here's the error I get:

http://whilefun.com/img/misc/SpaceTheoryError.jpg

To What End? by Shugor 2013-04-30T22:06:00

I loved the mood and music, and minimal pixelated graphics. One thing I thought detracted was that the story text was easily missed as it was only visible when I was on the block. I found myself having to go back a step or two to read it each time. On the upside, I wanted to read it all :) The commentary was a nice and funny touch. Well done!

Of Guards And Thieves by cominu 2013-04-30T21:52:00

Very impressive graphics and sound. I was unable to find other games, so I just ran around the arena alone. I didn't think this stuck to the theme much, but it was still pretty cool. Good job :)

Haunted Dojo by ramoncb 2013-04-30T22:00:00

I loved the monochromatic graphical style, and the music was cool. I found the gameplay a bit flat though...it wasn't clear what I should do next. But I did keep going right and beat the game. Some more animation and game sounds would make this game better. I hope you put more time into it :)

for science! by xandy 2013-05-02T02:55:00

I was unaware that going outside gave me negative points, and found the controls hard to use well. The idea is neat though, and the background and graphics are pretty good too.

Dehumanizer by UltimateWalrus 2013-05-08T22:28:00

Very good entry! :) The music and overall aesthetic is sort of "Terminator"-esque, even though it's 16x16 pixels. Very original, and fun.

Hot Potato! - A Multiplayer Potato Launcher Combat Game by LogiQ121 2013-04-30T22:16:00

Cool idea, I liked that I could fire really hot potatoes, but at the cost of taking longer. The sounds were subtle and effective. I wish the controls were a little more fluid for more twitchy multiplayer craziness. Good work :)

Tessitron by radmars 2013-05-02T02:54:00

You had me at "RADMARS". Haha! :) I scored 43810. Super cool idea, and I loved the audio. Good job!

Ai'n Av Diortem by awppy 2013-05-03T01:28:00

Ok, that was really hard, but I'm glad I went ahead and installed XNA (I thought I would never say that haha). Good job! Love the music! :)

Dark Black by Purplescape 2013-04-30T22:30:00

I had trouble figuring out how to progress past the transportation hub. The guys just kept wanting to shoot me. Very good music and graphics...and way to include a potato! :)

hekeri by kunzbe 2013-04-30T21:36:00

I enjoyed the disjointed 8-bit sound track, and whistling was a neat mechanic. I did get lost after clearing the first jump, and didn't know what to do after that :(

LESS [Last Exit Scary Square] by Tsuki_Usagi 2013-05-02T02:21:00

I see what you mean by not quite finished, but what is there is pretty good! :) It managed to be a little unsettling with simple blocks and colors and sounds. Good job!

Between the lines by martijn 2013-05-02T03:12:00

Wow, good job! :) It got very difficult at times, so I'm glad there was a skip level button

PATCh by egos 2013-04-30T21:26:00

Pretty cool idea :) I like the shuffling sound effects.

EmotimCrawl by Tamik 2013-04-30T21:46:00

Pretty cool - I love that you basically included a level editor with your game. That's great! I found the hero movements a bit sticky (got stuck on the walls a lot). Good job, I hope you do more LD jams! :)

Dream Island by FREEZX 2013-05-01T13:24:00

Very, very odd, but really interesting. I loved the sound effects, and music. It seems you really put yourself into your game which is awesome. Good work :)

Maximus Minimalist by Alexander 2013-05-03T01:39:00

Hah, hilarious idea! I found it hard to play (got stuck under blocks), but it was original...and funny :)

Writer's Block by Christopher Schulte 2013-05-16T02:46:00

Ok, that's pretty original :) At first I didn't get what it was, then saw the first result. Super cool idea!

Nerdogochi by tiffi 2013-05-01T12:59:00

Excellent use of humor...funniest game I've played so far. The mechanic was pretty interesting too. I scored 5870 with 104 hits and 9 misses. The quick time event jab was very clever also, made me laugh. Well done! :)

The Call by fullmontis 2013-05-01T13:34:00

Very nice work. I really liked the use of the theme here, very unconventional but interesting. Keep making more games! :)

Color Police by ryuurei 2013-05-02T03:29:00

Pretty cool idea, although I found it hard to control. The scoring scheme is neat, and the music was great :)

28 Pixels by TobiasL 2013-04-30T21:29:00

Very cool idea! My best score so far is 260. Fun game :)

Physix-Breaker by Kashi 2013-05-01T12:52:00

Neat idea! The pace seemed a bit slow, and the ball got stuck a couple times, but it was pretty fun :)

color bounce by shuall 2013-05-02T02:23:00

Regrettably, I cannot play :( The screenshots do look intriguing though

The Painter's Cat by Arcana 2013-05-02T02:59:00

It took me a few tries to figure it out, but once I did it was really fun! The music and gameplay went together very well I thought. Good stuff :)

SquareRoot by Masadow 2013-05-01T13:11:00

I was potatonuked! That isn't nice. Very original idea, I thought. Catchy music too. Good work! :)

A-Void by kingsman142 2013-04-30T21:31:00

Ah, nice! I really liked the music and space visuals. One thing I thought would be cool if the player could "quick restart" (just mash space or something) rather than pressing enter and selecting play with mouse. Well done though :)

360 by ShellfishGames 2013-05-03T01:14:00

Pretty neat concept! I thought this was a great entry. I had a lot of fun playing, and figuring out the mechanics. That level with the two red boxes is angering. Haha. Good work :)

Save the potato! by loxo 2013-05-01T13:06:00

Pretty neat idea, and very challenging! I can do about as well in this game as super hexagon...haha...only about 13.9 seconds! Some audio would have added a lot to this entry. Good job :)

Bugging Flies by rpistorello 2013-05-02T02:31:00

Great graphics and sound. The gameplay got a bit tiring after a little while. I got 1,200,000 points :) But then gave up :( Some bonuses or other fly types would zazz it up a bit I think.

Puck Gunners by eedok 2013-05-02T02:13:00

I found the controls very hard to use with keyboard. Precision aiming would be better I think, or I should have used a joystick. I was only playing single player, and could not get a point for the life of me. I liked the music and sound effects. Interesting take on air hockey, too.

Budget Squad by deepnight 2013-05-03T20:51:00

Graphics are amazing as always. Pretty fun gameplay as well. Interesting take on the theme, too. Good work :)

Aduno by Justin Mullin 2013-05-01T13:16:00

Seriously amazing job. This has depth, fun, and is a very good use of the theme. Well done, I will be coming back to this game. I hope you pursue it further after the jam :)

Path Breaker by kyru 2013-05-03T01:36:00

Pretty cool idea! I thought this was original, and interesting, and minimalistic. I did find timing the line drawing a bit hard to master. Often I would draw the line, but let go of my mouse button a hair too late thus letting the block pass through. Maybe tweaking that would enhance the fun factor a bit more. Good stuff.

Minimum Friction by pvwradtke 2013-05-03T01:33:00

I had the same problem as jayemjee. I'm running windows 7 and an ATI Radeon HD 6800, AMD FX 4100, 8GB RAM

BLOB by Kvisle 2013-05-09T17:00:00

Good stuff! I really liked the puzzles. The audio was a bit harsh at times, but overall very well done. Nice use of particles when stuff got shot. Fun entry! :)

Balls Balls Balls by matthias_zarzecki 2013-05-02T03:42:00

Very great mechanic and introduction of it on the title screen. The music was great, and the minimal visuals and one button controls were well done. Good work! :)

Context is Everything by mattperrin 2013-05-02T02:40:00

I thought this was meaningful, and interesting. I think some movement/AI bugs kept it from being really good. Interesting choice above omitting sound. I think it made the resulting "win" conditions more potent. Good job :)

Huit by nddrylliog 2013-05-03T01:19:00

I thought this looked and sounded really great. I had a really hard time grasping the gameplay though, even after reading the instructions a couple times and trying it. The music was lovely.

Shp Shft Mz by rzfmzn 2013-05-02T02:34:00

Very cool idea! The controls were a bit hard in spots, as I got stuck on a couple wall edges. I hope you add more content here, as I think it has potential! :)

Super Rope Dungeon by Halfbus 2013-05-08T22:20:00

Pretty cool game, I enjoyed the rope mechanic. I got lost a bit, and couldn't find the end (I assume there is one). Great music, and a good amount of creepy factor :)

A Puzzling Composition by whilefun 2013-04-30T21:32:00

Thanks Tobias! I want to add more levels with steeper difficulty at some point

A Puzzling Composition by whilefun 2013-04-30T21:34:00

Thanks Kingsman142, I'm happy you liked it! I agree the dragging lag is kind of annoying. I think I have a "//TODO: tweak this" in the comments :) It was a work around for a bug that went away. I might make it user configurable or just better. Thanks for the feedback! :)

Thanks for playing, and your feedback Kashi! I will look into tweaking the timers or perhaps adding a difficulty setting.

A Puzzling Composition by whilefun 2013-05-03T01:44:00

Thanks mattperrin! That's awesome, haha. I actually put a lot of thought into the dissolve animation (it's random, but symettric, and still blocky...I love it), so I am glad you enjoyed it too :)

@Alexander, what did you use to play? :| I can't imagine using a touch pad or something similar...oh dear. Thanks for playing! I am considering adding gamepad and/or basic keyboard support (or maybe porting to a touch device).

A Puzzling Composition by whilefun 2013-05-03T01:47:00

Ah, great ramoncb! I hope you are inspired to finish the last 3 levels. The ending is super cool...I am biased of course :) Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing, olkeencole! :)

A Puzzling Composition by whilefun 2013-05-03T20:46:00

That is an excellent point, moomoo112. Thanks for bringing it up. I was trying to go for a psychological trick by making the first solution "too obvious", to see if people would ignore it and complete the switch/zapper puzzle instead of the "drag 2 blocks up 32 pixels" puzzle. When replaying it, I actually avoided the obvious solution, and used the switches...so I didn't know what you were talking about. I replayed again, and saw it. Whoops! I think I should have given this a bit more thought, or made it a bit more subtle (or less subtle?) or something. Something for version 2.0 for sure. Thanks for playing, and your feedback! :)

Minimalism - the shoot 'em up by CiderPunk 2013-05-01T13:02:00

I found the controls with the mouse to be a bit hard to master. Nice use of the theme, and nod to potatoes haha :)

Samus Regrets by Tifu 2013-04-30T22:21:00

Pretty cool! I totally abused the double-jump to get to places I don't think I was supposed to get to. Fun entry!

Rook, Troll, Scribe by tacograveyard 2013-05-02T02:42:00

Unfortunately, I don't have a mac :(

The Road by GeorgeBroussard 2013-05-02T03:36:00

I couldn't make it past age 5. Good use of humor, and theme! :) I died a lot, but each time was fun and usually good for a chuckle when I died of [something]. Music was nice too. Good job!

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Down Through Sins by Toki Anholmes 2014-05-03T15:37:00

This is a really great entry. I got stuck on a couple parts and was tempted to quit playing, but pushed through and got to the end. I think checkpoints in the 2nd level would be helpful. Audio was great, visuals were subtle and nicely done. Good job!

SUNK by GeorgeBroussard 2014-04-30T00:56:00

A mere 59.5 seconds the first go, and a respectable 184.6 the second try!

Very good audio. It took me a second to realize that the wave timing was the level of the water relative to the screen/frame. Once I got that, I was able to ride them a bit and took slightly longer to die. The second go round was way better.

Consider putting this up in mobile app stores, if only for fun. High score bragging rights could be fun. It's a perfect touch screen game :)

The Show Must Go On by Sestren 2014-05-05T03:13:00

Very unique take on the theme. I found that there was almost too much to keep track of, but it was still cool. The spectate option after the fact is great, because it shows just how bad a job I did entertaining the crowd. haha. Nice work :)

Electric Sieve by ohsqueezy 2014-05-03T15:50:00

What a crazy and interesting game! I found the arrows counter to what I would expect in terms of movement on the screen. If you are going to work on a post-compo version, consider a "flip x" option or something. I really appreciate the concept of matching the holes to the falling triangles. Nice work :)

Pearl Diver by samooJAM 2014-04-30T00:47:00

Neat game! At first I found the inverted W,S keys annoying, then reached for my Xbox 360 controller and was off to the races. It took me a few moments to realize that the Stroke movement could be held. I also didn't realize at first that the sonar was functional. Cool idea! Once I got that, the game became instantly more fun to play. At the end, I didn't understand where I needed to go, so I just kept swimming "forward". I either got eaten by the fish, or escaped. Fun! :)

The Sea Has No Claim by dukope 2014-04-30T01:47:00

At first I was not having a good time, but then I figured out how to work the loadout elements. Geeked out pretty hard once I got to use the other more advanced gear. So good! Great art style, too :) *high five* Time to play the post-compo version :D

Magnum by jsspiegel 2014-05-03T16:38:00

This was pretty funny :) Proof that typing games are a precious, precious commodity.

SimWarren by thenmal 2014-04-30T12:41:00

Pretty neat idea for a game! This game was pretty adorable on all counts. I kept encountering a weird bug where the screen would scroll left forever (focus problem maybe on my browser), but the windows build fixed this. Nice music, and fun entry!

Osniea by bob_fish 2014-04-30T13:04:00

Fun game. I did manage to get lost by going off the screen, which was hard to recover from. I got to wave 8! I liked the music. Very "ominous space" feeling.

Heavy Man by timtipgames 2014-05-02T12:58:00

Pretty fun entry! I found the sounds the heavy man made to be pretty funny. Crushing the things and chasing down the humans was fun. Good work :)

Bistro Cafard by VividReality 2014-05-02T13:08:00

This game has so much potential but I couldn't figure out how to finalize and serve the food :( Great music and graphics, and very funny! One feature to make it great: A tutorial/practice level so I can learn to cook and prove my skill before opening the restaurant.

A Bigger Fish by jhrrsn 2014-05-02T12:40:00

The windows build doesn't work for me (windows 7). Once I get past the intro text, the sub just sits there. No mouse or keyboard presses make anything happen :(

A Bigger Fish by jhrrsn 2014-05-03T14:23:00

Just played the fixed win7 build. Nice job! The audio and atmosphere here are great. It was really fun to just move around and explore, looking at all the neat stuff. I did manage to get stuck in the physics a few times, and moved out of the level completely once. You should fix up the colliders and release a post-compo version. Fun game! :)

THE SKIES ARE A FALLIN' by glbs 2014-05-05T02:57:00

Neat! I got one of the ships (?) to fly off by lighting up the colored circles. Very abstract, but interesting. I liked the transparency and color scheme. I hope you finish making the game.

Beneath the Surface by praporomsk 2014-05-03T16:13:00

Really great entry. The tension is great, and the glowing eyes! The jumping controls felt a little sluggish to me, not snappy enough or something. Great audio and graphics, and I love the art style. Nice work :)

See by Esenti 2014-05-05T02:29:00

I found the game ended very quickly for me. I did manage to get a score of 40 a few times though. Neat use of all black and just glowing eyes for the critters.

Drill Fish by meszka 2014-05-03T15:54:00

Neat game idea. I had a really hard time with the controls, and as a result couldn't get the fish to drill in the direction I wanted. Cool concept!

Spunk Spelunk by ChuiGum 2014-05-05T14:41:00

It took me a while to discover that the arrow keys also shoot your gun. This was a pretty fun game! Nice work :)

Rosa Neurosa by Wertle 2014-05-05T03:06:00

SO FUN! Such an odd angle on the theme, but very well done all around. I figured out how to dig traps for the lightbulb/ghost things, and get to the memories. Great job! :)

Get Kraken by McFunkypants 2014-05-03T16:47:00

This was really fun, although a bit hard. I liked the turn based aspect, which I find pretty unique to a LD entry. Nice work :)

AHH LAVA! by Dreii 2014-05-05T02:48:00

Made it out alive with 32 shiny baubles! Neat concept. It took me a few tries to realize I should read the instructions and then learned i had bombs! That made things more interesting. Nice work! :)

Ore Genesis by Genecyll 2014-05-02T13:20:00

Got to 10,700 points! WHAT A GOOD GAME. I found the block clicking sounds a tad too heavy on the treble at times. The must was great. I think the purple blocks should come a tiny bit sooner, as I started to think I would never lose the game. Then BAM, I lost haha. You really should consider getting this onto iPad or something, for real. Good work!

30 Days Remain by koe415 2014-05-05T02:14:00

The music was very suitable and grim. Loved it. I found it a bit hard to weed out the bad guys when they were in a crowd with the civilians. I really enjoyed the news paper based progress. The whistle is mapped to the 'C' key for me, but the text said the 'X' key. If used once, the whistle seemed to no longer work, (no "sound lines" animation) but it still made the sound. The animations were nice as well. Neat concept, and good job overall. I finished to the end (well, almost...I lost the capital!) :)

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-05-05T02:43:00

Nice graphics and music. I found the right click ability ran out too quickly, though, so I spent a lot of time waiting for the charging bar to fill. Good entry :)

The Missing Potato by DragonMaster21 2014-05-05T03:30:00

Yay, best friends forever! :D Fun entry. The super duper lighting and shadows added some nice atmosphere and the music was nice.

Dig Dig My Friend by eckcz 2014-04-30T12:54:00

This was a pretty fun game. I kept playing for a long time! :) It would be cool if the mouse had some visual indicator of magnetic range (even a basic aura or circle graphic) and force. The use of multiple pickaxe/dig sounds was nicely done. 15 minutes of digging on repeat never got annoying or grating, which is saying something! Nice job :)

QP : Fix the leak! by ElStevo 2014-05-03T16:15:00

I cannot get past the menu :( On win7 using chrome 34.0.1847.131

Kraken by Kate Kligman 2014-05-03T16:19:00

Cool use of the theme. It wasn't clear when I died sometimes, other than the score reset. A few sounds and some updated graphics would make this a pretty fun game I think. :)

Scuba Sam by Boodog 2014-05-05T14:46:00

The music was pretty fun, and gave a good sense of urgency. I found the timer for the levels a bit too short most of the time. Also, each time I died, I wanted to play again, but the only option was 'Z' to quit. With a few tweaks to timing, I think this could be really fun :)

Scratch Ticket Fate by XenosNS 2014-05-05T02:25:00

Yaaaaaaay! Wait. Awwww. Fun entry! +1 for using a timmie's cup haha. Very funny, and the scratch mechanism was surprisingly satisfying. Nice work :)

Ninja Escape by Belvar 2014-05-03T15:59:00

This game is really hard, but very enjoyable! The ninja voice sounds were great. I feel like with a little polish to jump distance and level generation, this would make a really fun game. Nice work! :)

I.M.M.U.N.E - Infection Minimizing Monocyte Under Natrual Edict by Rikkter Games 2014-05-03T16:27:00

Very neat idea. I found the control scheme for the monocytes a bit hard to learn. Even when I thought I had set them up correctly, sometimes they didn't do what I planned for them. Loved the music, and the concept.

A Lava Quest by vogon101 2014-04-30T12:59:00

For your first ever game, and made in 48 hours, this is pretty impressive. Keep making games! :D

Rojan by Junber 2014-05-02T12:43:00

I assume the "your ad here" type stuff was supposed to be ironic? I found the controls super frustrating, and didn't really understand what was going on. The music was pretty cool.

Clarity by aburkenstein 2014-05-06T21:20:00

I liked the mood of the game, and the music was nice. I was a bit unclear about what I was collecting, or why. At the last level, I pressed enter (as I wasn't sure if it was the last level) and it took me back to the menu. I guess I finished? Interesting entry

Greys by ccglp 2014-05-06T21:12:00

The music was nice, and added to the atmosphere of the game. I liked that the grey colors changed relevance over time, and became more or less physical.

ARKEYNOID by mint 2014-05-02T12:36:00

Neat concept, but I found it super hard to play, and a bit confusing to understand what I was supposed to do.

Elemental Serpent by Lafie 2014-05-02T12:50:00

Pretty cool combination of things here. Making steam was neat. You should add more levels and sounds and stuff, and release a post-compo version :)

Shark Feast by carrier_signal 2014-05-03T17:28:00

Excellent use of audio and atmosphere. Felt super creepy. The bite/eat sound was very satisfying. Good work! :)

tower of atlas: reach for the surface by mouse25 2014-05-03T16:33:00

This game was pretty fun, although pretty hard. Even with no sound, the atmosphere was conveyed well with the monolithic structure and sky. I think some textures would make orienting ones self a little easier. Sometimes it was hard to tell if I was moving up or down relative to the other platforms or the tower, since the shading was solid and some parts had no lighting break up. Good work :)

Ocean Explorer by MintArcade 2014-05-03T16:56:00

This was a really cool game! I found the finer controls a bit difficult for moving barrels and turning valves (i got stuck on things). Great feel and atmosphere though, and impressive graphics and audio. Nice work! :)

Sharks VS Jets Fingeance by NathanTurner 2014-05-05T02:52:00

Hah! loved the graphics and music. Very funny use of the theme! :) Nice work.

Undercover by Shivur 2014-05-05T02:33:00

Very nice interpretation of the theme. I enjoyed the visuals, as well as the news clippings/post-it notes/etc of the menus and game over screens. I found it very difficult to find the informants however. Nice job overall :)

Submarine Warfare by Torri Y 2014-05-05T03:07:00

Sorry, can't play it. When I open the jar, I get a java exception right away :(

Middle Management Hell by Hammervuis 2014-05-02T12:36:00

web link is broken for me as well. It downloads an html file rather than hosting the game within it

Agoraphobia by yuzuquat 2014-05-03T17:01:00

Neat graphics, and atmpsphere. I felt a bit lost, and randomly died (I think...I fell over and the game restarted). This is visually interesting, and I hope it becomes more of a full game some day :)

Holy Diver by talecrafter 2014-05-05T03:23:00

Pretty funny use of the theme. The graphics and animations and sounds were all pretty great. I managed to beat the level! :) I would consider making the shark hit boxes a bit smaller, as sometimes I died but it didn't look like I actually hit them. Good entry. :)

Two Sided by Daskaund 2014-05-03T17:23:00

The atmosphere was really great. The dreary audio helped with this a lot. I found the jumping to be very frustrating, as I kept sticking to the walls. Cool concept, and visuals. A little more control polish would make this good entry a great one! :)

Drowning in Problems by Notch 2014-05-03T14:49:00

Very interesting entry, nice job.

Grave Rob by Sanguine 2014-05-03T15:42:00

Very Vlambeer, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Fun idea having random curse effects. Fun entry, nice integration with the leaderboards. Nice job!

The Stanley Enigma by nddrylliog 2014-04-30T01:36:00

Neat game! Had a nice creepy feel. Great audio, too. The butcher shop had the best music!

Toxic Below by dertom 2014-05-05T03:19:00

Neat choice of mechanic, and nice graphics. I found the jam version controls really hard to use, but the game seems pretty fun. Downloading the post-jam version for later :)

Orbital Burrow by Make A Game 2014-05-03T16:05:00

I lasted 3:41! The audio and graphics were fantastic. I hope you finish implementing the rest of the features of your game. The WASD defenses felt a bit arbitrary after a while, as I got a little button-mashy. Still very fun, and the music was great. Nice work.

Basement by Halfbus 2014-05-03T15:10:00

This is pretty awesome. A couple things kept me from totally loving it. They are just small balance things though. For example, the game can sort of deadlock where I can't produce more stuff, and don't have stuff to sell first person in the line, and can't afford more storage space to build the stuff they want. I only mention this because I think with these things tweaked out, this game would be really a lot of fun. I hope you keep working on it, and release a full game on PC or iPad or something like that. Loved the music as well. Great job all around :)

We Can Build Together After We Have Gone to Sleep by WBojangles 2014-05-05T01:54:00

I tried a few times, but couldn't get consistent audio to play. The game was interesting, but could perhaps use some more input from the player. The bird artwork was very nice.

Gruffy Guertrouda by whilefun 2014-04-30T00:47:00

Thanks, samooJAM!

Gruffy Guertrouda by whilefun 2014-04-30T12:55:00

Thanks thenmal. I struggled with correct length for each leg. 5 minutes seemed a bit too long, but less than that seemed too short. Something for the post compo version! :)

Gruffy Guertrouda by whilefun 2014-04-30T12:59:00

Thanks, vogon101 :)

Gruffy Guertrouda by whilefun 2014-04-30T13:05:00

Thanks for the heads up, bob_fish. I will add that to my list of post-compo things to fix. Thanks for playing! :)

Gruffy Guertrouda by whilefun 2014-05-03T15:11:00

Thanks for playing, and your insight, Lafie. I really wanted to get the environment textured, but had no time left. Something for post-compo, to really round out the look and feel :)

Gruffy Guertrouda by whilefun 2014-05-03T15:12:00

Thanks, jhrrsn! (also I did play your fixed version, nice work! See comments on your game page)

Troubling times by strong99 2014-05-05T14:55:00

Interesting choice for the compo, definitely not enough adventure games entered. Some mouse hover hints to show what is clickable would be helpful. I did manage to finish the game, nice ending.

Surface Flip by SuperPokeunicorn 2014-05-03T15:45:00

Interesting idea! I found the game SUPER hard, but it was rewarding each time I got a bit further. Great idea having changeable color palettes.

LD30 — Connected Worlds

The Octate Worlds by Jogy34 2014-08-29T00:19:00

I found the controls to be super twitchy, but managed to beat the first couple levels. Some of the blocks were placed in such a way that I could not see where I was landing, as I had to jump over the top of the screen. The music was charming, and I enjoyed the silhouette backdrops. Nice job.

A Galaxy United by MarekkPie 2014-08-29T00:15:00

Bummer, Love cannot create canvas because of my OpenGL implementation :( I am running win7 64 bit with an intel graphics card

The Unfortunate Potato by Longarmx 2014-08-30T15:56:00

Good to see Potato making an appearance. The puzzles were well crafted and very challenging. Nice work :)

Epic Galactic Conquest by madk 2014-08-28T04:17:00

105.89s...is that good? :) This is visually interesting, reminds me of chemistry and molecules and things. I hope you flesh out the idea some more.

Multidimensional Tube Linker by n42k 2014-08-29T00:04:00

Nice use of puzzles and the theme. I found the margins a bit tight for things, like the careful planning level. I knew what I had to do, but repeating steps 1 to n-1 made it feel cumbersome at times. Great entry overall, nice work :)

Timehop by Lord bobyness 2014-08-28T04:10:00

Pretty interesting game. I liked the use of time travel as a tie-in to the theme. I got pretty far, but then got stuck by the detector, and couldn't figure a way out of it. Nice work :)

Last Call For Magrathea by nintendoeats 2014-08-28T03:49:00

Interesting entry! It ran pretty poorly on my ancient laptop, but it was enjoyable. I was a bit confused by the manufacturing system, but the atmosphere was cool. I enjoyed the fractals/introduction a lot.

Terrorist Hunter 2D by nilstastic 2014-08-28T20:52:00

Really neat concept, however, having to click the left mouse to start always fires a bullet or two and hits blocks, causing other blocks to become red. Is that intentional? Otherwise, had a fun time with the game. The music was cool, too. Nice work :)

Interplanetary Messengers by DragonMaster21 2014-08-28T20:48:00

Loved the music. I found the ship movement very cumbersome, as it took so long to move around. This is a cool concept though! :)

Gravitate by acehk 2014-08-28T21:00:00

Really nice entry, and a pretty original idea! Nice work :)

Space Road Truckers by Zambini 2014-08-28T21:07:00

This sort of reminds me of Planets:TEOS, which was a great old space trading game. I had a hard time docking with other stations. I like the HUD with the various meters and controls, and TVC indicator. Nice work :)

Iter Bellum Deus by Piscythe 2014-08-29T00:10:00

This was a lot of fast paced crazy fun to play. On level 3, the 2nd hot key would work to select the powerup but I couldnt deploy it or switch back to the 1st power up, so I kept losing. Overall very solid entry, good work! :)

Chipset-0 by deepnight 2014-08-27T14:29:00

Fantastic graphics and animation, and pretty fun to play as well. I managed to get stuck though, and couldn't reach the battery I needed to proceed. Nice work!

Legacy of Lamas by Cell 2014-08-28T02:13:00

I have no idea what I just played, but it was pretty great. Pretty well rounded and interesting. Outstanding artwork, as usual sir :)

Symbiosis by vividhelix 2014-09-02T01:49:00

Pretty cool idea. Parallel stealth. It's actually really tricky! At first, I wasn't sure where the end of the levels were, as the first level has the guards over top of them. Perhaps a tutorial level showing where to go, then introduce stealth? In any case, this was pretty fun. Nice work for your first ever LD entry! :)

Divided We Fail by ninjascript 2014-08-28T20:28:00

Great entry, love that music. My high score is 170! :D Nice work.

Zombie Miner by elefantopia 2014-09-01T16:18:00

Zombie sounds were pretty cool, and the countdown timer "clack" was creepy.

The Catapult by OinkIguana 2014-08-28T23:57:00

It's great that you included a story and NPCs. Something we don't see enough of in LD entries I think. I found the controls a bit sticky (only one direction at a time). Good work overall.

Smugglers! by rjhelms 2014-08-30T15:49:00

I really enjoyed the graphical style of this game. I found the police/red jeeps a bit too hard in the later stages because they were so magnetic, and once they saw you there was no way to get away really. Some kind of "cop radar" would make this a little more forgiving I think. The music was great also. Nice work overall! :)

Holiday Nightmare by KingBolonzo 2014-09-01T16:10:00

This game is super hard! I kept getting my butt handed to me. Interesting interpretation of the theme. I liked that there were two firing modes.

Connect Home by BitOfGold 2014-08-27T14:11:00

Neat entry! Like sokoban, but more futuristic and puzzly. I got stuck and could not restart the game, but i looks like this has been addressed in the post-compo version. One thing that would be cool is if I could just use keyboard keys to restart and go to next level. Good work :)

Galeas by magmaCrab 2014-08-28T03:54:00

I have no idea how to run this :( Do I need to install a love interpreter or VM or something?

Hot and Cold by jahmaican 2014-08-28T03:56:00

I definitely let out an audible "nooooo" when the game said there were no actual levels. The tutorial was pretty neat. I hope you are going to make more levels for this and release a more complete game. Good work :)

Cross the Void by DeathPidgeon 2014-08-28T20:34:00

Pretty fun game, I must say. I managed to get stuck on level 5. I feel like I am missing something, but I cannot manage to beat it (I tried so many times!) :) This might make a cool mobile game.

The Two Sides of the Rio Grande by mfagerlund 2014-09-01T16:53:00

Super cool entry! I played for a while, and got up to 605 Mexican residents. However, I think there was a bug or something because the American residents capped out at 46. It was really neat to play in fast forward and see everyone swarm to their destination. I would have liked to see some kind of constraint on building though, as I could just build as much as I wanted all the time, so there didn't seem to be a downside to doing things wrong or a benefit for doing them right. In any case, I had fun playing your game. Good work! :)

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-27T14:08:00

@honestcritic that is correct. A definite balance issue I think. I wanted to make the illness/injury more randomized and not 100% of the workers, but ran out of tuning time. Thanks for playing!

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-27T14:09:00

@BitOfGold thanks for your feedback. Are you able to quit via the "Give Up" button, then exit button on the main menu? Thanks for playing! :)

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-28T03:57:00

@jahmaican totally fair...haha, the graphics were the last thing I did on Sunday afternoon. I am glad you liked the complexity. Thanks for playing! :)

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-28T20:29:00

Thanks, ninjascript!

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-28T20:35:00

Thanks for playing, DeathPidgeon :) I need to work on the balance a bit more, but that was the idea. Perhaps too ambitious an idea for a 48 hour game though.

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-29T00:11:00

Thanks for playing, OinkIguana! :) I have made a more explanatory post-compo version (linked above in the entry listing) if you are interested in giving it another go.

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-08-29T00:12:00

Thanks for playing, n42k. You are correct, I did not have time to add sounds unfortunately. Glad you enjoyed the game!

Fiscally Judicious by whilefun 2014-09-01T16:19:00

I've made a note about the font. It was definitely sub-optimal, especially for darker colors. Thanks for playing, elefantopia! :)

There may be hope indeed. Maybe. Thanks for playing, vividhelix! :)

Dreamless by Dietrich Epp 2014-08-28T04:12:00

Unfortunately, this crashes for me as soon as I open the executable. Windows 7 64-bit. Might have to do with intel graphics card? It's a fairly crumby laptop.

DINO BOLT by GeorgeBroussard 2014-08-27T14:35:00

Really great, polished entry. I presume this will be landing on mobile at some point. My best score is 32 so far, but I reckon I'll be returning to this later.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

TeazleParty by Ace 2014-12-10T04:07:00

Very novel concept! I liked the zooming in on the games and that they were somewhat different. I was only playing was one player, so the multiplayer aspects may have been lost on me. Nice job :)

Tightrope Theatre by AdventureIslands 2014-12-11T17:39:00

Very well done! I think when the unicylclist falls, it would add a lot of "feel" to have a crowd boo or gasp in horror. Likewise, some cheering in addition to the win music would add a lot I think. One nitpick is I wish the restart level curtain transition was a tad quicker. I want to get back to retrying immediately :D Well done overall!

A Major Mystery by bobismijnnaam 2014-12-10T03:57:00

Interesting take on the theme. I managed to win the game. I liked the camera battery charging UI and pause between pictures.

12 Hours by Wilson 2014-12-10T04:08:00

Really very good! I really liked the tiny scale, but large world feel. Difficulty 3 and 4 were super hard! I managed to escape once and lost the rest of the plays. The variety in clothing among guards and resistance forces was a nice touch. Good job!

Unity Ascension by hitchh1k3r 2014-12-10T04:11:00

Impressive that you got a networked play component done in 2 days. The gameplay was pretty simple, but fun.

I don't have a web cam :(

ASDF ASDF by alesys 2014-12-10T03:59:00

Love those pixels. Very minimal color palette and fun key mashing gameplay. I died a lot, but had fun. Very gameboy-esque. Good work!

Confessional by AmyDee 2014-12-10T03:54:00

Very interesting entry. The typing and darkness were really effective. Great interpretation of the theme.

BARKLEY: SHUT UP AND SCREEN by bhopkins 2014-12-10T04:02:00

Hah, i liked this game a lot. At first i had a hard time seeing who I was and who I was passing to. Once I got that, it was clear what I had to do. Throw some sounds on this and you're golden. Lovely pixels, also.

Couch RTS by FeathersMcGraw 2014-12-10T04:01:00

I like the concept of the single screen vs. battle play. I did find the game felt sluggish (animations and movements felt slow). They were well done though. I hope you develop this further, it seems if it were a bit snappier it would be more fun. Good work!

Snowball juggling Olympio by Benjamin 2014-12-20T02:29:00

This is really good! I love the expressions on the snowman's face. The juggling felt very tight, and hard, just like real life. I could only get up to 5 or 6 in the tutorial, but alas I am no good at juggling with real stuff either. Nicely done.

Law Breaker by deepnight 2014-12-10T03:55:00

I found the controls were a bit hard, as i was trying to steer the car relative to its front, rather than "move" it absolutely. Great game though, love the pixel-ey goodness. Solid entry as always :)

Snowman vs Chesspieces by HuntTheWumpus 2014-12-10T04:03:00

The music was pretty cool. I managed to beat a couple rounds. However, on entering round 3, each time I selected cards, it would just auto win the round. I was fiddling with it, and looked down and saw I was in round 10! Not sure what happened there.

Gone by rnlf 2014-12-09T22:14:00

Won't run, I think it has to do with my lame Intel HD graphics card. Error is "canvas something something for your OpenGL implementation"

Nooo Bath Time!!! by Gabbmonkey 2014-12-10T04:00:00

Hah, what a weird game! :) Nice job.

The Fast and the Flatulent by Drtizzle 2014-12-10T04:00:00

I don't know what I just played, but I think I had fun. Neat concept of the game within a game. That long necked fellow is creepy. I like the music. Would play again.

A Link Between Screens by trykondev 2014-12-10T04:10:00

I really wanted to finish the story, but the hit boxes were too unforgiving. Had to get too close to use sword, and the slidey movement meant I ran into things as I was hitting them with the sword, which was really frustrating :( I did manage to get to the second part of the second level though. I also like the music.

Chess Wars by Skipi 2014-12-10T04:07:00

Neat idea. I wish the game was more complete/finish-able though. I hope you finish the bits you have left and re-release it. This could be very fun with 2 players.

birdsong by managore 2014-12-20T02:20:00

Overall, v3ry well done. The graphical warp effect made me feel a bit nauseous, unfortunately. I didn't finish because of this, but I did like the graphical style and use of the collection of sticks and nests as save points. Well done!

Snowball Tunning by dusho 2014-12-10T03:56:00

The graphics are neat. I found it hard to get a hold of the "tuning" mechanism, and died a lot.

Bugged Out by InfectionTeam 2014-12-11T17:19:00

Wow, great job! There was one bug (heh.) where if I clicked to shoot my web and missed, the web would go on a 90 or 45 degree random angle, rather than where I clicked. However, the rest of the game is so fun and great I can deal. One thing that would be neat is a more obvious "Your score was X" before showing high scores. Overall a really well done game! :)

On The Field by redoxkun 2014-12-10T04:10:00

17 seconds! GOOOOOOAAAAAAL! Super awesome entry. One of my favourites so far. Very novel concept! Well done! :)

The Second Thought or Please, Don't Touch Anything by Four Quarters 2014-12-10T16:03:00

Very nice work! I have only found the first two more obvious endings, but will be playing more of this. I really enjoy the music, and pixel art style.

TheBlindMaze by Valon 2014-12-10T04:03:00

Very neat and unusual idea. I did not manage to complete the maze, but this is really cool.

Solus by InToGames 2014-12-10T04:04:00

Very nice entry. The music is cool, and the pace of the game is great. One thing I found annoying was that i could not replay the game right away. I had to wait 3-5 seconds to start again. Great entry!

Santa's Reindeers by frokes 2014-12-10T04:04:00

Very good for a first entry! It was very clicky, and I found the pace of upgrades, etc. to be a bit slow. However, since turrets are not yet working, perhaps that would change. Might I suggest including a few different snowball sounds and playing a random one each time you throw? This would make the "grind" of the throwing feel more natural and less repetitive. Congrats on finishing your first LD game!

Augmented Collector by ghostonline 2014-12-13T19:31:00

Pretty cool idea! I found there were some clipping issues with the little screen. I imagine some camera culling filter fixes would help here. I like the concept a lot. I beat the game in about 4 minutes, fun!

Killine by PortoCombo 2014-12-10T04:06:00

Really pretty fun for a long time. It gets really hard after a while. I think less repetitive music would be better. Good job overall.

Nanaina by Steffan 'Ruirize' James 2014-12-10T04:05:00

I liked the mood of the game. I was not sure where to go exactly, so I think I went everywhere, but didn't see a way to complete a task. The double jumping was really hard to do, which was a bit frustrating.

Ora Bolas! by Felladrin 2014-12-10T04:11:00

Very colorful! :)

Snowman Critter Control 2 by andrs 2014-12-10T04:09:00

Took me a sec to figure out how to play. The notes about controls on the side of the game board should probably be higher contrast (brown on brownish right now). Once I died, there didn't seem to be an option to restart. Interesting take on the theme. I liked how the snow got absorbed, revealing the grass :)

RobFishing by xTacobaco 2014-12-10T03:59:00

Love the pixelated artwork. The game was pretty fun for a while. Some sounds would really enhance it I bet. Nice entry.

Lombom by Kevin_twenty7 2014-12-10T04:08:00

I like the concept. I found the block color change times to be a little too long though. It made the game pace feel drawn out, rather than snappy and fun.

Stranded by IzaacRogers 2014-12-10T03:58:00

Graphics were nice, and I like the concept. However, I could not get any of the UI things to work (crafting, etc.) I also could not quit the game using the escape key. Had to Alt+F4 it. I hope you develop this more fully. Nice work so far!

Shooting Things in Space by oatsbarley 2014-12-10T04:06:00

I loved the low-poly graphics. I found the controls hard to use a bit, and I didn't really understand what was going on with my resources. This did satisfy a certain "pew pew" need though. :)

Ember by geckojsc 2014-12-10T03:57:00

The first music phase was really great. Got stuck and restarted. Got 80% complete, but then just rain clouds came for a long time. I don't know how to proceed. Neat entry overall.

SchneeMannschaft by Myyyvothrr 2014-12-10T04:11:00

I really liked the graphical style. The controls felt a little sluggish, but I did manage to score some goals :) Nice music as well. Good work.

Liberty and Justice For All* by whilefun 2015-01-11T21:48:00

Thank you to everyone for playing, and for your comments and ratings! :)

Beat Bop Delicious by Kitch 2014-12-13T19:24:00

Pretty cool idea, and I love those pixels. I think it would be better perhaps to call out "round over" a bit more clearly. Also, perhaps randomize the controls that need help a little more. It felt sequential to me. Neat idea, good take on the theme. I like the variety of controls. Nice work.

Space Cargo by Skoggy 2014-12-13T19:37:00

Very nice graphics! The backgrounds were especially nice. Felt very space-ey. I found the pace at which the drop ship could move to be a bit sluggish. It made the return trips a bit tedious. Nice touch with the opening text. Very funny :)

Pengie by GeorgeBroussard 2014-12-10T03:55:00

Fun game! I scored 3750, but it took me a good 10 tries! - good feel, ice walking, fun game. the penguin poop was ridiculous! hah.

Orion by feiss 2014-12-16T02:35:00

Excellent audio and graphics. I loved all the switches and stuff. One thing I found is that the windows that came up with the rocker/toggle switches closed to fast after the last switch was thrown. It would be neat if the last switch clicked the same as the others and there was a brief pause. I really enjoyed the screen shake and radio chatter effects. The mission itself was a bit misleading, as I thought once I reached near the red planet I would have to press the other buttons and do some other sequence of things. But I made it to the end, and it was pretty cool. Intermediate events requiring additional action (with radio chatter) would add a lot here I think. Overall excellent entry, very nice look and feel. Good work!

LD35 — Shapeshift

Noctem Shift by olkeencole 2016-04-19T03:58:00

Super moody and kind of creepy, and very neat concept! I got so far, but the last brown morphing stair ramp thing did me in. I got 3 or 4 dream catchers, and saw that blue/white light shaft but couldn't get up on the top to drop in (i presume that was the goal). Nice work! :)

Zen and the Art of Transhumanism by Deconstructeam 2016-04-25T20:59:00

This was a really cool take on the theme. I found the controls would have been better if I could blend the mouse and the controller. I actually put the controller on the floor and spun the lathe with my foot. I really wanted to use mouse to make the carving action into the blank object though. Using the arrows was cumbersome. Great artwork and music, and very neat entry!

Dead End by chaosBrick 2016-04-22T14:30:00

I too suffer from the "actually just a black screen" issue. Running GTX 970 on win 7 if that helps.

The Furniture is Alive by Bemmu 2016-04-18T13:31:00

FYI, the windows download doesn't have the _Data folder included, so the game won't run! :( This looks cool.

The Furniture is Alive by Bemmu 2016-04-18T13:36:00

Got the web build working, and played through the game. Cool take on the theme, not too often do you see horror games in a ludum dare! :) Good mood and creepy factor. Love the chalkboards/messages. I've never been so concerned if a potted plant was considered a piece of furniture.

Morphling by SecondDimension 2016-04-21T19:16:00

This is pretty outstanding! I ran into some trouble after mis-clicking and reloading, where the double jump test wouldn't work again for me. Other than that, this game is really great. I hope you make something further with this engine. Well done!

3D platformer thing by vapgames 2016-04-25T21:06:00

Very solid prototype! It was fun and felt cool running around, jumping, and shooting green goo at the little baddies. The hair/grass/etc movement looked great.

Attack of the RGBobots by sol_hsa 2016-04-17T06:19:00

Very fun! I really enjoy the sound effects and pixel look. Nice use of color as the main mechanic.

Lycan by lightsoda 2016-04-20T12:22:00

Pretty fun game! I love the death metal feel. The music was great :)

ShapeShift for Cheese by Adipson 2016-04-26T21:51:00

The artwork in this game was terrific. I found the pacing and dialog/movement speed to be a bit frustrating, but the puzzles were fun. Extra points for the Al Bundy for president sign.

PowerShift: The People's Republic of United Democristan by nintendoeats 2016-04-20T12:30:00

I was doing fine then rebel LeBron James came in and cleaned house. Making a game with a complex rules set is not an easy task, so congratulations on making a game like this. The music was nice.

Trickytron by McFunkypants 2016-04-19T02:55:00

Pretty fun demo - I got 13M max air! Controls are a bit hard to use for precise moves (e.g. camera didn't really follow the player so some angles were hard to see). If this was expanded into a sort of cyber tony hawk, with gamepad support and grinding, that'd be awesome. I really enjoy the neon-future visuals :D

Trickytron by McFunkypants 2016-04-19T02:58:00

Oh snap, just realized the gamepad works. Nice!

The Ragdoll Show by Ken Ichi 2016-04-18T12:20:00

This seemed impossibly hard for me. The mouse dragging was really slow, and I could only manage to get an elbow in the air before being hilariously smushed by the moving shape wall. Funny take on the theme :)

BodyGuardian by Citsua 2016-04-18T13:47:00

Hah - funny entry. Neat use of the two shape shifting modes. Picking up cars and blowing them up is more fun than I would have expected. Poor president.

Go Get Those Boxes by seanarooni 2016-04-18T13:44:00

FYI, the windows build contains the Mac/OSX folder, not the _Data folder, so the game wont run on windows 7 :(

CHORUS by Pantelis Petsopoulos 2016-04-20T13:12:00

The music is so great! I got ~26,000 score and a Silver, unfortunately not high enough for the scoreboard though. This was fun, nice work! :)

Battle of Britain 2 by SuperChihuahua 2016-04-18T12:15:00

Kind of felt like missile defense in a way, as the paths had to match the projected movement of the green rectangle monster things. I played for a while, reloaded the planes, and killed a lot of green boxes. It wasn't clear when the next wave would happen, or if I could win. Pretty fun to control the planes with paths though. More polish would probably result in a neat little game!

RescueBot by tomdeal 2016-04-20T13:20:00

What a fun entry. Nice GTA kind of vibe, but as a "good guy". The helicopter controls felt smooth, and glidey. I got 441 pts. Good music :)

Random Rally Rodeo by Lee1121 2016-04-26T21:56:00

This controlled well, and was fun to play. I found it a bit annoying that the next car and time to shapeshift seemed random and was a bit punishing as a result. The drifing felt nice, and the audio was effective.

Copy-Paste by nicoplv 2016-04-18T12:07:00

Aha, very sneaky. I almost gave up on the 2nd level, but took another try and got it. I love the funny eyes placed onto the various objects. Good use of the theme, and very nice models. Nice work :)

Cubes of Power by catchthefloaty 2016-04-18T12:34:00

Nice job, though the non-VR version is pretty hard in a couple spots due to lack of camera control. I finished in 9:56 and was happy I got under 10 mins. Timer was a good idea to add some tension for the player to challenge themselves. I liked the use of the two different shapes/abilities. Some of the jump/morph/grab/morph combos were satisfying to get! :)

Polygon War by SmallPhil 2016-04-19T03:03:00

Fun game! I really like the visual style. I wasn't totally clear on what the green shape changing did for my advantage, but then it made my guns faster and spread more. The audio feels nice and punchy too. Good work! :)

The Creation by RyanMan56 2016-04-20T12:33:00

Well that was really weird and kind of gross! haha. Poor kitty. Crawling through that cat was super gross, but gave me super jumping legs. Huzzah!

Indiana Croft and the Mysterious Amulet by Dasginger 2016-04-18T13:25:00

The graphics were outstanding. I found the controls to be hard to figure out at first, but then realized you can't click to move when a "shapeshift" tool is active. Aside from some weird object physics issues, the puzzles were nicely done. Impressive effort for a 48 hour compo :)

Square Peg Round Hole by RealityCheck 2016-04-18T13:54:00

Pretty fun game. I am terrible at the card bit! haha. I like the strategy of the cards though, it makes the game have more depth. The look and feel is pleasant and enjoyable. Nice work :)

Tumbleshift by imit 2016-04-20T12:47:00

The music was so good! :) Reminded me of Sonic or jazz jackrabbit or something. Very chill. I found I had depth perception problems a little, which made it hard to tell where my position was relative to the "lane" the barrels and chickens were in. The visual style and artwork are lovely. Also, nice touch with the "good bad ugly" name for the graphics settings :) Nice work!

ShapaSort Recycling by Yrasin 2016-04-18T13:43:00

This game looks and sounds great! I found it hard at first to tell what the exact sort point was for the middle part, meaning I'd leave the door open too long and miss the next part of recycling. But I got it soon enough, and was in the groove. I liked this game. It's the guitar hero of recycling sorting station simulations :)

Drift Shift by Bailman03 2016-04-20T13:24:00

The drifting felt really nice. I think better controls (WASD + 1234 is hard to do at the same time), and non-sequential shapes (not 1234 in order) would make this more fun to play. The concept of having to change modes to clear goals while drifting is a solid one I think. With some more polish this could be a pretty fun thing to play I think! :)

Shadowshifter by Ilseroth 2016-04-19T03:50:00

Wow, great stuff. The super contrasted red/blue/black was tight. And the first person sword movements were great. I would play the heck out of a more polished but equally stylized version of this game.

A walk to the top by JK5000 2016-04-18T13:15:00

What a lovely entry. I enjoyed the sound effects. Fun puzzles and game. Nice work :)

Wlobbie (Demo) by HeliosStudio 2016-04-19T03:12:00

Interesting choice in graphics and weird morphy alice in wonderland feeling models. I think it made me feel a bit motion sick, but it was enjoyable. Not sure if I was supposed to be able to get up the stairs or not, but I couldn't find a way. I hope this means you're working on more/other atypically styled first person things. :)

Polymorph by dsmeathers 2016-04-20T12:54:00

This was really moody and creepy and mostly great. I found it a little punishing to restart every time, especially with seemingly randomly generated levels (sometimes morphy bad guy boxes were in different places). I managed to get the key, but couldn't get back through to open the locked door (a door turned into a blob and killed me). Cool entry overall! :)

Aqualution by DevDad 2016-04-20T13:01:00

This was a cool entry. I enjoyed the mood in the water, and the day/night cycle was a nice touch. I got to level up my skills a bunch and it was cool to just swim around and be a fish. When I got eaten by a bigger fish, I didn't die, but also could no longer eat the blocks and eventually lost vitality and the game ended. Not sure if that's a bug or not. I love the voxels, and the minimal audio added to the mood a lot.

The Flying Carplane by ZpeedTube 2016-04-28T01:12:00

This is really fun! I got 103m :D I found the camera movement a bit rigid, perhaps some Lerping would help soften it a bit. Nice work!

SUPER DEEP GAME BRO by Membrane 2016-04-18T12:51:00

Hah, very funny game. The larger levels got pretty grindy, but it was fun to stack the Bros and get the dollar. Nice entry :)

Inner Beast by 4B 2016-04-19T03:16:00

I too can only get to the title screen :(

Cadori by paragonpawns 2016-04-19T03:24:00

I really liked the audio and visual style. The menus are great too. It was a fun discovery that I could make the bat fly up, but if I shifted back into the vampire, I fell.

Best Vampire/Bat Fighting game I've ever played :)

Shapeshifting With Science! by TeamKawaiiju 2016-04-19T03:44:00

I really liked the portal-esqeue feel here. There's a lot of potential in the idea, but the slow/long walks and super punishing restart is a bummer. That said, I restarted 4 times, and got to what I think is the last puzzle (that red round button). However, after trying to get it for a while, I finally physics-glitched my little pink buddy out of the world, and gave up. One tip regarding player actions: ensure that things like scale changes and turret rotations are based on elapsed real seconds, rather than (i presume) Update() calls, as I had a heck of a time getting the turret to aim precisely, or objects to scale precisely (always over shot a bunch and had to make the tiniest clicks to get accurate or small changes. All this said, this game made me want to slog through the frustrating parts and keep going, so that says something good about it :)

Shape Shifters Inc. - A near-future dystopian manufacturing simulator by whilefun 2016-04-18T12:42:00

@FenyesJ Thanks :)

@RealityCheck Thanks for your feedback. I definitely had a "get work assignment when clock in" GUI in mind, but ran out of time. I wanted to get some better looking models in there too, like marshmallows that looked like marshmallows, etc. but alas it was too late. Good point about colouring the machines though. That would have been super quick and effective.

Thanks for playing! :)

Shape Shifters Inc. - A near-future dystopian manufacturing simulator by whilefun 2016-04-18T18:21:00

@nintendoeats Yes, kind of. It's intended to accurately simulate a manufacturing job, which to be sure, can be very tedious. However, my goal was to allow the player to discover the "zen" of manufacturing work (optimize your process, be as efficient in your movements as possible, etc.). Thanks for playing!

Shape Shifters Inc. - A near-future dystopian manufacturing simulator by whilefun 2016-04-18T18:23:00

@YRasin That's great to hear. Those monsters need their marshmallow! Thanks for playing!

@cheesewhiz999 Yes, I think I kind of missed the mark on the theme. I intended Shapes to be more heavily integrated with the parts and widgets, but alas ran out of time, so they are all just still "debug cubes" :\ Thanks for playing!

Shape Shifters Inc. - A near-future dystopian manufacturing simulator by whilefun 2016-04-19T03:05:00

@lightsoda A second job, yes, but the pay here is terrible, haha. The very end is 5 shifts deep, to simulate the work week. It's for only the most dedicated and grizzled manufacturing simulationeer. Thanks for playing!

Shieft by nicso 2016-04-18T12:01:00

Wow! This game is great! Excellent job all around. I loved it. Very nice feel and mood and audio. Very unique take on the theme and great mechanic. Well done :)

De Skogen by Aidan Markham 2016-04-26T21:40:00

I really enjoyed the audio in this game. I found myself unsure where the meaningful bounds of the woods were, so I just walked through the trees until I left the play area. It would be helpful to supplement the super dense trees with an actual invisible wall so the player doesn't wander way off course. At the end, I wasn't sure if the white screen was the end of the game or not, as there was a slight period of silence before the game returned to main menu. Overall, the game was serene and pleasant. I also enjoyed the main characters walking animation cycle.

Freeform by Faulkin 2016-04-20T13:05:00

Very original idea! big way skydiving is cool, and it's neat to see an LD game about it. I found the time between formations a bit shorter than I would have liked, resulting in an abysmal score. But I still had fun! You should make a 4-way blocks version of this :D

Claudia's Exit by ramza 2016-04-19T04:08:00

Wow, cool idea. I enjoyed running as the bird, and sort of gliding start into flying from hillsides. With some smoother "gain altitude"/"flap" motion, this could really be a neat thing to just play for relaxation. Neat! :)

UNDERCOVER by FenyesJ 2016-04-18T12:39:00

I couldn't really get the game to do anything except for let me run around a bit. Shooting either the baddies or the goodies had no effect. The voxels looked cool, and I liked the music.

Apeshifter Munk by monkeybit29 2016-04-18T13:03:00

I really liked this game. There are similar ones submitted in the compo with this mechanic, but yours is better. I liked the music, and was actually moving slightly to make the water jug dance while it was being filled up. Nice work! :)

shape, LeSS by medidog 2016-04-28T01:19:00

This game has some of the best graphics I've seen for this ludum dare. I wasn't totally clear if there was an end game or not, but had some fun trying to min/max my shape shifting distance and collect the atoms. :)

Space Dimension by bigbatardyt 2016-04-18T12:55:00

The graphics and music were really good. I found the pace of the movement between 2D and 3D shift too sudden, and always failed to pull up in time. I think a slower transition zone or more advanced "shift coming" warning could make this more approachable. Very cool idea!

Loathsome Shifter by bigmangames 2016-04-19T03:21:00

I really liked the super-pixelated look. I found the mouse sensitivity really high. Also, there's no collider on the end of the hallway, so I fell down and out of the world. The 2nd customer didn't get me anything to smash :( Your take on the theme is interesting, and the musical tune is fun! :)

Chemscape by iSasFTW 2016-04-20T12:35:00

I won! Congratulations on making your first LD game. May you make many more :)

Death to Polys by hugheth 2016-04-20T12:43:00

Very neat idea here. I found the pace of the tutorial helpful. However, once it ended, things spawned in the world a bit too fast. Sometimes, the "capture" logic seemed to break, as I surrounded buildings but they didn't get captured. I enjoyed the music and minimalist visual style.

Combibox by pogo 2016-04-19T04:13:00

A fellow manufacturing sim kind of thing! Yay :D Your punch card slot is waht I wanted to make if I didnt run out of time. This was fun, and the shape matching was impressive. Level 1-2 are easy and fun. Level 10 is SUPER HARD, and also fun. Watching the blocks smash into bits is its own reward. Nice work :)
