Sorry but I'll be honest- it feels more like a grindquest than an actual survival shooter.
The controls are smooth, the guns are good etc, but really its all about finding a safe place to stand, farming money off zombies, then buying a better gun to more easily farm money off them. It's a bit lacking for me in motivation to continue playing... but I did anyway, for the sake of testing it.
Graphically it's nice, great background and characters, nice graphical style but again I'll be honest, nothing astounding in terms of graphics.
Audio... N/A because for it it didn't have any sounds, after reading your description but I'm not sure if that's intended.
Anyway... money to evolve, when you think about it, sounds a little funny, an upgrades-style game always fits the theme of evolution.
Overall, smooth gameplay, quite nice graphics but not very enticing to progress on for me, I'm sorry to say, since my first impression thought it'd be otherwise... oh well.
The controls feels fluid and good, overall is a fun game

Fun, but evolution? :)
@Spaceoff: Thanks for the amazing critism. The reason for no sound, yupp, as I said in the description I just did not have time to add it properly so decided to get rid of it entirely. Same goes for good ballance between money and gameplay, not enough testing to find out the just perfect ballance.
@Cell: The evolution part goes in the genetic upgrades. All of my ludum dare entries so far shows the theme in the absolute final moment of the game. :3

Nice graphically. Too bad you didn't get audio to work. A game like this really needs some nice explosion sound effects, those can potentially double the amount of fun there is to be gained from shooting zombies.
After several tries of trying to pass wave 2, I got stuck inside a platform. It's a nice start, it just needs some work to make it more fun. You have to shoot the zombies very often to kill them, yet they move very quickly and unpredictably. This means that standing in a safe place in the hope that you can hit some zombies is an optimal strategy.
@JaJ: I have the awesome explosion sound stored on my computer. I wanted it ingame so badly! ;-;
@bvanschooten: This was my absolute first try to create a platformer AI and the unpredictable moving of the zombies is kind of a glitch I couldn't get around.
I liked this game! I loved the graphics as well.
Although I think the key to a successful shooter/fighting game, is feedback. Shooting the zombies didn't give any feedback except for some particles. Having the zombies get pushed back and/or flash would make a huge difference.

Good artwork. But as for me it is hard :) I can't survive first wave.
And some coding tip: grep mouse cursor at the center of your screen. Because sometimes I clicked on window behind.
@4urentertainment: I came to think of feedback too, a tad too late into the development. If I wanted to add the feedback properly at that stage I had to replace A LOT of int to double. Without that change the feedback would be either nothing or over the top powerful.
@dector: I usually had the cursor "locked" to the center of the screen before. But I found it to not to more comfortable after a while, so this is how I do it now.

Nice game. Most of what I'd criticise has already been said (e.g. lack of feedback, grinding) but don't get me wrong I enjoyed having a go on this and think you've made a good looking, smooth game with potential for further development.

The controls feel really good and the shooting and particle effects are cool. It's missing some animations tough. And the enemy AI is dumb. Really dumb. If you find a safe spot and just stand there, the enemies will never reach you. It's a quite big problem for a shooter like this, but It's understandable since it was made in 48 hours.
Good job nonethess! I think a post compo version of this with better AI could be really fun :)
Particle effects and shooting is great, maybe slow the zombies down a little and make them smarter ie. chase you? Overall a good game, well done.

my hands hurt after playing this game...it just takes wayyy too long to get the upgrades, they're all so expensive! The controls and gameplay are done very well, though some invulnerability frames would be nice, you can lose all your life nearly instantly if you get juggled.

That was fun! I was not patient enough to get any far. The theme felt more like 'upgrades' than 'evolution'.
@Kmad: I am planning to continue working on the game, just as soon as I am done procastinating. I know lots of things in this game could have some changes to make it more enjoyable.
@olav_st: I only have the most needed animation for each character: idle, walking and dead. The walking animation might be a bit hard to notice since it is simply the legs going up and down, and I did not want to spend too much time on the graphical part. And yes, the AI is really dumb. This is, as stated before, my first try on making a platformer AI.
@jarnik: Again, as stated above. I did not have much time to ballance stuff properly, and the evolution part is revealed at the end of the game.

It was actually pretty fun to play, just a few suggestions. I wish there was more feedback for things like shooting zombies, zombies getting knoecked back, etc. Also, I wish it took fewer than three waves to have enough money to buy any upgrades. Getting the player involved in that earlier would make it much more engaging

I really liked the visual style! :) I couldn't quite figure out how to kill the zombies though. I kept falling down and restarting :\
looks and plays nice, but there isn't too much there. it's a shame you couldn't get the sound working. the particle effects are nice though.
