Nice idea, interesting puzzle!
Hey, I beat it and it's actually pretty good! Tough enough, but not too hard. I liked all these different creatures.
The idea itself is pretty amazing, but the game does not stay much behind. Loved it!
Interesting idea, really nice graphics! Could not find any relation to the theme, though.
That was fun! I was not patient enough to get any far. The theme felt more like 'upgrades' than 'evolution'.
Nice idea! I loved the idea of configuring your DNA blocks to create specific properties (and even animal type! :D). I was not able to get past the turtle though...
Grabbing into empty space filled my inventory with green slugs (?). Pressing T and clicking dumped the whole inventory (and not just one slug). Clicking nearby slugs in magic mode did not work (a slug was not collected). Sounds like an interesting idea, would love to play that.
Great idea! The ever-repeating cycle makes it easy to gradually improve your survival strategy. The possibility to run off-screen was a bit confusing, I was not also able to make a relation between the food you consume and a hearth-bar (how much did I need to consume in order to survive?). I had fun, though!
This felt really creepy in a positively interesting way :) Nice!
Great game! Well executed gameplay, simple and polished graphics. Some audio would be nice. It might be fun to play on a gamepad.
Got the jumping, but then I'm stuck. I had fun!
The normal mode is actually pretty hard, thanks for the Easy mode. I like the controls, the music was nice! Also the enemy feedback0based evolution is a great idea.
Looks like a really well-balanced gameplay difficulty. The absence of any health powerups made it quite hard. I had fun playing it. Quite pleasant music!
Nice concept, took me a moment to get a hang of the drawing path concept. Got stuck a lot when an enemy amoeba got stuck on a map edge, unable to move, thus not ending the AI turn.
The most interesting and daring entry I've player so far! The UI and graphics are polished exceptionaly well! Thumbs up!
Combination of a space shooter and platformer is a nice idea :) It was fun playing it.
The frantic pace was fun (and mostly infuriating :)
A frantic action AND a moral lesson :) I was fun, took me a while to figure out the strategy for collecting the rabbits while avoiding the bosses.
Funny :) Smashing those houses felt nice, the gravity was a bit Moon-like.
Nice gameplay. I did not see any effect of the gained mutatations though. Even a simple sound effects (SFXR-like) would add to the experience.
Great concept! Quite often I've died immediately after starting the level, it would be nice to keep the game paused at the beginning, so that the player could check out his surroundings first and get ready.
Brilliant! I tried flashlight and half time, couldn't finish with neither of them, but had lots of fun and thrills :)
Loved the "move by swap" mechanic!
Damn, I got so close to the end! :D
The A/D turning was pretty handy while dragging the cart, but very clumsy during free running (might be better to switch to A/D sideway running + mouse look).
It felt quite difficult to focus on pressing multiple keys to handling the axes while being shot at by catapults. As the axes were distributed quite far enough from one another, it could be easier to just use SPACE to pickup and throw or drop (if there was another nearby) an axe.
Therefore a skipped the axes and just kept on running like crazy, avoiding the shots, which got me quite close to the drakar. Fun! :D
I got out! :D
I liked the graphics, but I kinda missed a connection to the theme... Also I was hoping to have to cross the maze without getting a constant hint ;)
A friendly reminder - you shouldn't use any third-party content (like music, even if you give a credit) for the compo - that's what jam is for ;)
At start, I was a bit suspicious about all the content that didn't look like it was made during the jam, but then I guessed you've used some of the JRPG editors and I thought, what the heck, why not, it's perfect tool for the first entry.
It's actually a nice little game, I had fund and managed to find Santa eventually :)
In English version, the yes/no choice actually gave me "oui/non" options, so I guess it might have been the typo from the french version.
Congrats on your first LD entry!
Good idea, well executed! It's nice you're forcing the player to start over from the very beginning - makes a challenge more real (I got frustrated after 4 tries, enjoyed it nevertheless).
It would be nice get rid of the buttons in menu (hitting the SPACE / ESC might be more convenient).
Interesting concept!
I suck at fast top-down action, so I didn't even get to the red guy. The movement momentum felt a bit strange, also in some more complex rooms the fps dropped to 14 fps (on i7 8core), but the shading looked brilliant, love it!
Interesting concept!
Too bad I was the only player connected at the moment, it must be so much more fun to control the robot in more people (could be that the unanimousness boost the execution of commands - speed, attack strength).
Mapping buttons to arrow keys could be handy.
Great concept!
Trying to jumping while running was a bit cumbersome sometimes, I lost my patience trying to jump over a wide crevice.
"A" did not work for walking left (as stated in title screen), nor could I find any way to quit the fullscreen mode, other than ALT+F4.
Never mind the controls, I love the graphics, sound, the concept overall!
Looks like a nice little OpenGL exercise!
The only issue I had was with controls - upon pressing and holding the arrow key, the player moved a bit and then stopped before moving again. It might be because of the framework limitations, but it'd feel much smoother if the player could move without the initial stutter.
Great concept, I like it! Would love to have the color-switching a bit faster.
Though I'm a shooter noobie, so I didn't get very far.
I got about a half correct! But I've missed the theme :/
See you on next LD!
Aaah, I suck at wall-jumping :/ And the jump always felt too short. But once polished, the controls could be quite interesting!|
I've missed the theme.
Hey, really nice concept! Took me a few rounds to get familiar with the controls, but this is a solid base for interesting gameplay. Liked the music!
Great concept!
Even though I got wasted by the cannons quite a lot, I had fun. And thank god for the save-points! :D
Congratulations on finish your game!
Speed issue: it's always a good practice to not move your character by constant distance, but also multiply it a by a time elapsed since the last update. There's usually some method to read system time, then you just subtract the currect value from previous frame value. This way your movement won't be frame-based (which may differ for various devices) but time-based (time is measured accurately on all devices). But other comments might explain in a more sensible way.
Oh noes, I've fallen to the bottom of the world and had to spend the rest of my days there.... :/
Then I restarted, found the map, got to the car, drove to her house and GOT MARRIED!!!
Loved the walk animation! :D
Hey, nice concept, I like it a lot!
Longer steps could might be more useful for better tactical use of the upcoming maneuvers. Otherwise I just kept on bashing the space, until I got into a position to shoot. Sometimes I just kept circling in one corner with aliens keeping to the other, which was a bit tiresome.
Great game, quite original, I had fun! My doge fell off a few times, so I've rather decided to commit a suicide than face the rest of the levels alone.
Love it! Funny, great graphics, found all the endings.
Great concept, had 10 minutes of solid fun!
Over time, my city got flooded with wild animals, but the initial construction and appearance of new options felt pretty great! Thanks for making the game!
I haven't played many turn-based shooters, but I haven't managed to avoid being seen (I prefer sneaking to combat). Some visualisation of enemy view cone would help.
Anyway, bonuses were interesting, I managed to gather a herd of dogs that followed me around for quite a while :)
Liked the setting and the music!
After getting used to strafing to evade the shots, I've managed to survive for more than a few seconds. But I got surrounded after a while eventually :]
Nicely done controls and concept, I had fun!
Thanks, good idea, I'll try to do a Mac build.
@Jiri-Hysek Added Mac version to itch.io
@jiri-hysek thanks for playing, glad you liked it :)
