Aww I would have loved to see a more complete version of this. What you have here has a lot of potential.

Aww I would have loved to see a more complete version of this. What you have here has a lot of potential.
I wish there was a windows/web version. =[
I can't dig in the windows version. =[
This was a very well made game. For only 48h, great job! I'd love to see some aquatic life around me though.
Oh my, this is great.
Ah! This was awesome! Could have used a few more features and this would have been really great.
Ah I liked the visual style you had going. Wish you had more of a game here!
I liked this. =] Could use some notifications for when you pickup an orb and some more ambient stuff going on around the player.
Awesome! I love the little torches you can throw to see whats in front of you.
Great concept! Fits really well with the theme.
I cannot play your entry! =[ Running the exe opens a command prompt that freezes immediately. I'm running windows 7 64 bit.
I agree with CoveBit, you still have another day! Go, go, go!
Cool little game, but I found the control scheme to be a bit frustrating.
Wow! Fantastic presentation and concept! You used your 48 hours well. =]
I love the concept, just wish it was a little bit longer.
I really, really enjoyed this game. The jump mechanic was a nice touch and the vagueness of the story was just right.
Oh my, this was very frustrating but very cool and original idea.
What you have here is a great idea, but its not complete. The systems were far to sparse. Allowing the stars to scroll would also do wonders. My biggest issue is the email requirement.
It has a cute theme. =] Simple yet addicting game play. Great job!
I love it! Luuudummm
What are your system specs? OS? Laptop or desktop? I have a key remap in with the main links, you could try that. I'd like to fix it to allow you to play it. =]
Oh is is your numlock on?
@Mirroar Fixed! Thanks for finding it.
@jonbro I've sent you a message via IRC to see if we can figure out what's happening.
@FireSlash Yeah...the world generation is bugged. I didn't have enough time to rewrite it before the compo ended and thats too much to fix after the deadline. Thanks for the bonus points. =D
@ethankennerly Yes, the readme file is important! xD
@Jolle As regards to the lots of buttons, have you ever played Dwarf Fortress or other rouge-likes? This is nothing. If you would have read the ReadMe, "Q" cancels the current command. But yes, the screen size has been mentioned. I developed this on a old CRT monitor so resolution didn't cross my mind during the compo.
@sfernald I'm sorry about numpad issue. I'm really not sure what's going on. I'll definitely test the issue more in the post comp version...which I really need to start working on ha ha.
@Endurion I know the controls aren't for everybody, I wish I had more time to add customization. =[ As I stated above, when using the numpad fix the [b] key gets remapped to the [v] key.
Nice touch. =] The sound effects were awesome.
Wow, very cool! I still need to play through it a few more times to discover everything. Great job.
Nifty game you have here. FYI You can fix bugs, just leave a note in your entry and leave the old file up.
Great work! I would have loved to have the world procedurally generated for more re-playability. But nonetheless, this was a nifty game.
to alexlarioza: the world IS procedurally generated !
All new game is different of the previous one.
:)
Oh...then the two games that I played must have been similar. haha!
I really liked the concept here but I don't feel that it was well executed. A proper, more user friendly interface would have done wonders.
All of the deaths should be found without the need of a walk through. I doubt I would have figured out the Konami code one.
Great idea, but i think it would have been more fun if you capitalized on that orb bouncing around rather than the pings around the play. It was too easy to spam the space button and find my way through the mazes.
Reminds me of the game mechanic in Dyson, just without all teh fluff. Great strategy game, I'm just not sure how it fit the theme.
Wow! This was a brilliant idea.
I enjoyed the visuals on this one but the game play felt a bit lacking. I liked the combining canisters for effects though.
This my friend, was a brilliant game. It had the feel of a retro classic platform and is some amazing stuff for 48 hours. Great job. =]
The text was a bit hard to read at times but overall a good job.
Felt like a classic arcade game. =]
Wow! This was a very cool game. I'd say more but i don't want to spoil it for others.
Wonderful. =] I love the game play.
I liked the sound track, but the little green robots were a bit hard to dodge. =[
While the game itself does not have much content, the framework is brilliant. So simple to use. =]
As everyone else said, loved the dashing. Wish there were more hazards though.
Reminds me of those books you fill in the missing words for. Then when you read it through, it sound hilarious.
Ah! The sound track is addicting. =]
Ah! I really enjoyed this, its a mode that should have been in the original worms! I had two big frustrations though. One being that the conditions to be killed by your own bullet were a tad bit sensitive. Two being that there really need to be a mouse lock feature because I kept clicking outside of the window.
I'm a sucker for cats. Is it a laser-light they are chasing? xD I really loved the sprites for them! Even though the mouse control was really creative, I found it to be too frustrating. Plus that damn orange tabby would hardly move. =[
There were some obvious portal influences here. ;] I really enjoyed it! The females voice was probably the best part.
Couple things I didn't like: enemies spawning in the middle of the arena, enemies spawning on top of you when the game starts, and the lack of more enemies.
I was laughing throughout the entire thing. You have a great sense of humour.
There have been quite a few games with mouse-only controls this LD. Never the less, nice zelda take. =]
The text fades a bit to slow and the bullets are too small/dull. (as mentioned by previous comments) It does have a very clean look though.
We both used a similar concept, but I like your implementation much more. =] I just wish it was longer.
I really enjoyed the feel of this games and the music was really charming. I did not like the slidey-ness of the sub though and I felt like there wasn't enough fuel cells in some parts to get through. The square blocks should also be replaced with something more sea-like, maybe coral?
Also, the swf was wayyy to tall. I couldn't see my sub and the HUD at the same time.
Love the originality! The last stage took me quite a lot longer than the others. ;]
I really dig the artwork. =] While this, I thought of portal. Was it an influence? My only problem was the way the camera jumped around.
@jarnik Thank you! I'm glad it wasn't too easy. ;]
There are no blind jumps.
Spoiler Alert:
There IS a section where if you go the wrong way, you have to drop down the cliff. If you go the right way, which is sorta hidden under a ledge, there should be no problem. If you were surviving that blind jump, then props to you because I couldn't do it. =P
@Milio Awesome!
@Gopher Yes, I think I will make the 'deadend' more obvious in the post-compo version.
I've updated my entry with my post mortem. The post mortem show's the way around the 'blind jump' for people who were too frustrated to continue.
@haqu @Knighty
Thanks guys, I will be releasing a post-compo verion soon that addresses difficulty and annoying things. ;]
@hexygen Thank you for finishing it! =] Sorry the ending is so anticlimactic.
@Dark Acre Jack Someone said that in IRC too! It's funny because out of all the games I thought about borrowing ideas from, Amnesia was not one of them.
@hamster_mk_4 I have problems making things easy. =P Be thankful someone suggested checkpoints or I would have never considered putting them in there,
@eli That was a bit of an oversight on my part, I didn't test for ways to cheat the game. The post compo version has fall damage though. =D
I love the graphical style you went for. I might attempt a similar style next LD. =]
I got to the second level and I got stuck in a "loading level 0" loop. ;] From what I played I enjoyed! I think the ball should be a little be more responsive though.
This has potential to be a cute fighting game but lacks the content to make it fun. =[ Collisions were driving me nuts.
I liked the controls, definitely something different. As others said, collisions are a bit funky.
Wow! I loved the main gameplay. I wish there were more objects though. Randomly generated levels would also be cool. =]
Using the mouse direction to jump is a very interesting mechanic. It would have been more fun if the levels were setup more creatively. Also, I could triple jump, sometimes even quadrupole jump.
Ah! Loved the concept! Would like to see a post compo version that is more polished. =]
The game is quite unforgiving. You should implement checkpoints. I really liked the sound track though. =]
Quite short even for an LD but the main game mechanic was brilliant! I also really liked the grungy 8bit metal you had going on. ;]
Backtracking was a bit annoying.
I got stuck halfway up my first time. The second time through I made a mad dash towards the tower and was able to ride it up. xD LOVED the voice acting!
Your download isn't available or mediafire is bugging out.
FileDropper isn't any better. I've typed in the catchya code a billion times already and I have yet to see a byte downloaded. =[
Was this procedurally generated? Great work. =]
I loved it!
Great job! I loved the beginning cut scene. xD
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing but the graphics are charming. =]
Short and straight to the point! I wasn't aware that you could export inform to flash. I'll have to look into that. ;]
Loved the style. How did you accomplish that with Unity?
My first go at the first level didn't register as solved. =[ But other than that this was a wicked puzzle game. Reminds me of the game I would play on my graphing calculator.
Brilliant take on the theme!
Loved the graphics, definitely unique. Had no idea what I was doing though...
Very cool! Took me a bit to get used to the controls though.
Like the others said, it was a bit glitchy but has potential. =]
Holy crap the frame rate was terrible! I locked up my computer. On a good note, I liked the voice over in the into.
Very interesting idea. I get motion sick very fast though so I couldn't play for too long.
The heavy breathing really had me scrambling to find the hot spots, which was a neat effect. =] But it was really tedious to find all of the hot spots especially when they got really small.
Loved the art work, just wish the swf wasn't so tall! =[
I was playing this for quite awhile... ;]
While I love difficult platformers, I found a few of the jumps quite harsh. Not to mention the unpredictable lava things with their seemingly large hit boxes. Nonetheless, I loved the music and art style!
I unfortunately can't tell you where to find it as it's randomly generated each time. =P But I'll give you a hint; each level is divided in thirds length-wise so that the player spawn, the woman, and the ladder occupy a random spot in their own third of the level. So if you spawn on the right, the ladder/woman is either in the middle or left of the level. Hope that helps with any frustrations. =] I wanted to add some kind of tool/indicator for finding the ladder but didn't have time (or an idea of what) to implement it.
@SusanTheCat My girlfriend wanted to be worked into the game some how and that was my way of doing so. xD
@Pvaiun Thanks!
@kato9 There are still some bugs with making walls, I thought I had them all fixed but I guess not. =[
As regards to everyone have problems with walls:
You must hold either SHIFT or Z and then press UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT or W/A/S/D for the respective direction. If you have 2 or more bricks (which are gained from mining stone blocks) a wall will be created. You can't create a wall if you are too close to another object. Hope that helps. =]
Ah! Great concept, but I agree with the other commenters; there needs to be a cursor.
We made similar games. =] Yours would benefit from more variation in the caves. I also felt it was a bit sluggish.
Gorgeous artwork!
While the graphics were cute, visual cues weren't so great as I wasn't even sure what I was doing.
Would have loved to see more enemies. ;]
I liked the concept as well as the neat tron graphics but I found the game very hard to play.
Ghosts should be reset after death. =/
This was a cute game. =]
I also feel like you are being to hard on yourself. This is a great 48 hour game! Loved the 8-bit style
I'm a sucker for rouge-likes, but this lacked much of the fundamental mechanics - random level generation and proper skills/classes would have made this entry a whole lot better.
My only complaint is that I can't see what I already have in the car on the load out screen. =[ Other than that, awesome game!
While I like the stealth game play you were going for, the speed of the character really ruins it for me. You added the run button, but its pointless when near guards so the player is forced to crawl through the level.
That was an interesting mix of genres! =]
Aside from the movement and collisions, this was a great game!
I couldn't get this game to work. I downloaded the one linked here and the one on your blog but I get two popup boxes. The first is blank and the second says "error". Then the game just sits on a purple screen. =[
I loved the art style here but I found the jump height/distance really hard to deal with.
Very cool concept! I'd love to see a post-compo version of this as you really had something going here. =D
Very cool idea, but as the person said below, the controls are not obvious. This might turn away a few people because they won't know how to play the game. I managed to figure it out by clicking the screen haphazardly. Anyway, I really liked the concept and overall feel of the game. How did you make the soundtrack?
I didn't have enough patience for the last tiny worm area because of the difficulty jumps, but overall, it was a cute game. =D
Loved it! It isn't your typical platformer or top-down game you see during LDs. It's also quite challenging, great work!
I love your lighting system! I also have to agree with the first commenter about getting the wall jumping right. =] I only had problems with getting between those two spinny spikes.
Awesome.
I actually finished it! =D You have a difficult but original game here.
I really like the concept, but I don't feel like it was executed as well as it could have been. While I enjoy asteroid-like controls, it was way too difficult to fly the ship. Even adding some kind of beam that sucked up resources would have been extremely helpful. Other than that, great job! I'm a sucker for space related games. ;]
This was pretty neat! I think a mini-map showing planet needs would have been helpful.
Once again, a fine game from you. =]
There isn't a preloader so make sure you give it sometime to load first.
The game page has pictures on how to heal. =]
@Zemmi I'm quite terrible at making things balanced the first time around so things usually end up quite difficult. Mainly because I worry about it being to easy. Hah!
@tcstyle - That's as far as we got for the Dare version. =|
Took awhile to understand the concept, but it turned out to be quite a fun puzzle game!
I LOVE this! It's very original and fun to play. =]
This is great! =D
Neat, but randomly generated mazes or other obstacles would have add to the fun. =]
Very cool, but you only mentioned humans were pink. So I assume the lions are red and gazelles are dark red? I also didn't seem to have a problem with humans dying at all.
Cute little game you have here! =]
I spent far to long playing this game...great job!
Excellent game! I loved the little plot you had going. To anyone else who finds the screen to small, right-click and zoom in .
Ah, too bad you didn't get the "program" bit in, it sounded really promising.
Haha, that was cute.
Having some terrible performance issues on my end. The game lags really bad so I can't really play the game. :C
Loved that globe! Fantastic work on the art! :) I had a hard time figuring out how to play it though as it took me a few click to realize the text under the locations were menu items.
While I like the artwork and audio, the gameplay is a bit lacking. Clowns would often disappear after placing them. What's the point of money? My money never seemed to decrease.
Would have been great with some gameplay! :)
@Pillbrain Yeah, unfortunately I didn't have enough time to actually flesh out the story in a sensible manner, which is why the beginning rooms have more content than later ones.
@nathanj439 I have a track record of difficult games, but regarding the incorrect password issue: yikes! I've updated the game to fix the incorrect password problem. Regarding spelling/grammar, I wanted to proof the game for such issues after I finished but I unfortunately ran out of time. :(
@BlackBulletIV All of the commands (except the command ask subjects, which are in bold in the text) can be found on the buttons on the UI of the quest client (take, drink, etc) so there is no need to guess anything.
Liked the plot you had going on, but after making a mistake I had to restart and sit through the intro text again. :(
