Sheep Town by ShredWheat
Other then that, this is good. I think it is the game with most depth I've seen so far in the contest.
But were is the destruction? Yes, I know, you can destroy buildings, but that isn't really the point of the game.

Really cool and complete game. And since you can play on either side, I can't really complain about anything ;) Kind of reminds me a bit about Syndicate (wars)...
I left fun N/A because I haven't been able to play it other then with myself, and I'm not sure that gives the proper view of it ;)
It got quite repeative after a while (I played utnil I had >50000p), but otherwise it was nice. Funny thing was that one time when I died, I then floated into a health powerup and came alive again :)
It's not very easy controlling the ship, and the hard scrolling really messes with the eyes :/
Birds see more than is good for them ;)
The difficulty level starts too low and goes up way too slow. Also, the screen messes up for a short while sometimes.
The highscore thingy is a nice touch, but dont ever make a program that tries to connect to the internet without telling the user first... my firewall told me the program wanted access, and I killed the app right away. Of course, now I can read here that it was a highscore system, but adding a readme telling the user about it wouldn't have been very difficult.
Definetly my favorite so far! (not that you know what that means, not knowing how many and which games I've tested yet ;) I haven't managed the fifth level yet, but I'm going to try again later. Had no problems running it, and I like everything about it except one thing (which isn't that bad really), the connect to barrel button could have been something else then down arrow. A small indicator telling you when you are within range would have been cool too.
With some more variation, this would go further.
I like it. Only complaint is that some of the colors are a bit too similar, but that's a stupid complaint, I know.
Do we have a winner here? It's possible ;) The only thing I didn't like was the car bounceing when hitting buildings. Also, I think the katana is superior to both the gun and car. And you should have called the game Grand Slaying Zombie ;) Got a buffer underrun error on quit, but since it was on quit, I wouldn't call it a problem for a 48h game.
Nice game, good thing it got music (although it got quite repeative after a while). Options to restart level/quit instead of simply quiting on esc would be good. The Z & X buttons worked fine :)
_Very_ innovative gameplay, and a good laugh as well. And I can see where the spreading of something comes in, but how about infection?
Haaaaaaaaaaard game. It went very fast and I only managed to rescue a single person, even though i tried many many times. Is this due to timing issues mentioned in desc.? (Got an Athlon 2200, gf fx5200, 512 mb ram). Nice idea though, kind of like moon lander.
This one is good. It will be one of the few that I will leave on my computer when the voting is over. Also, really nice with a decent computer opponent.
It's all about touching the thingy before it touches other ones...
Kind of fun, but it's based on luck a bit too much. Original concept.
The fact that you can't really lose, and can play on forever, kind of destroys it.
Should be named Press keys Press keys Revolution ;)
I like first person shooters, but this is not enjoyable :(
This game is way too fast. Managed level 1 twice, but no more than that :/
This game must be featuring the coolest weapon in the whole contest ;) The Overall 1 is for not being a finished game.
Playing through every single level again if you die is very bothersome.
Well, there are chickens.
Commandos goes 48h :) I had great fun playing this game. Only bad thing that happened was that if you switches to another app when running fullscreen, the gfx get messed up (no reloading surface data after switch back).
Cool thing there are a lot of multiplayer options available in a 48h game...
Clever game. I usually like this kind of games (unless they're too hard ;), and this is no exception . Level three (I think) was toughest, the other ones pretty easy, but this is a 48h contest, so... An undo one move would have been very nice.
Yay, Mission Complete :)
Well, that's another way to use for an ambulance, I geuss.
I like this one, it really shows how bad co-ordination I have ;) Good thing allowing continue, otherwise it would have been much less fun. Bad thing: I used Alt+tab to minimize it a small while, but it wasn't possible to get it back up and running again afterwards. I had to kill it :/
I've cleared them all :)
I'm not sure that I was made to herd goats.
I like it.
It would be nice to know what actually happens at the end of the turn.
There's some crazy speed to that vehicle. Vroooom...
Well, you don't see something like this every day :)
Since there's no game logic, there's not much else to rate then graphics an sound. Which both were quite nice.
This game gives a feeling a bit similar to the first zelda game :) Nice gameplay, nice music, decent gfx. A wee bit annoying with the bouncing thingy when going into walls, and once when I got killed and had 2(?) lives, I completely died and the life counter showed -7, I think. Then when I retried, the door wouldn't open in the first room with red things you should eat. But closing down the game and restarting worked fine.
Innovative game, featuring tutorial and a nice interface. The tutorial is A Good Thing (TM). I managed to win on Hard difficulty, but Sick was Sick ;)
It really messes with your eyes looking at them, while trying to figure out how it will look next turn, when they all are animated like they are.
I'm not sure if I like that you can shoot down yourself, but otherwise it's cool.
I really like the graphics for this one, but I did find it very frustrating to play.
Well, a mining simulator. Kind of lacks goals and such things, but me who likes these kinds of things spent a fair amount on time on this, trying different shaft layouts and such. Not much to say about the graphics, it's mostly coloured squares. Loses production score because it's lacking goals and such. Also crashes when selecting Y when asking "again?"
I had the flickering bug, and I didn't stand to play the game for very long, not even with black flickering. So I've not rated Fun or Production as because I don't think I've got the whole experience. I have rated Innovation, Graphics and Sound as I think I got a fairly good picture of those. I found aiming pretty hard, but that was mostly a problem before you got a fast enough fireing rate when it wasn't a crucial for a single shot. Some shots from later levels looks cool.
Seems an interesting game, but it ends after season one for me. Should it not continue? I like the story, though.
If it wasn't for the fact that the grow games already exist, this would be very innovative. But even though this is no new concept, it's still a change from most other games, and it's still fun! The first level was pretty easy, then it became a bit tricky. Maybe the second level should have been a little bit easier to make a better curve. The graphics aren't stunning, but it works pretty well for this game.
This is awesome.. just like xjump, but fun, challenging and stylish! It sometimes feels a bit too difficult, though. Maybe a few more heart drops would have helped.. and the pigs could take on less candy to die. Also, I'm used to have the shot/jump buttons the other way around, so I frequently press the wrong one... but that's of course not your fault! (Men du bestämmer inte om jag får leka med maten)
I didn't have a problem with level 2 (I played without the fix), but I never managed to complete level 4. I could be a little bit nicer if it allowed you to start over on the same level you were at instead of beginning at the first level again. Graphics are so-so, not great, but no very bad. Loses production points because there's no readme or other instructions included. I'd say it's innovative, though.
This is good, as puzzle games go in 48h.. actually, it's good as puzzles games go generally too, it's just not very much content. Would get a higher production score if there were more levels. It seemed the random levels are not always possible to complete. The graphics are simple, but suits the game very well.
Has a pretty bad framerate for having so simple graphics. The game is lacking a bit also, it's not really fun.. could have need some more gameplay element perhaps, I dunno.
I got 760 score. I assume score was just what you could get, as I did not see any goals or such things. The viruses went seriously bad towards the end, making it seemingly impossible to actually get any mining done. Sounds are minimal. Graphics are so-so. It's a bit fun in the beginning, but i wears off pretty quickly. I think the NanaCustodians (sp?) should figure out they need to go and repair other buildings by themselves.
It's kind of like inversed tetris... you should have called it sirtet Won the first four levels by just holding down the down key, which wasn't very challenging. It seems to lack something to make it fun in the long run, but I'm afraid I can't point out what. Crashed (exited at least) when I put a nail in the ground.
I think this could have worked really well if it was in realtime instead of turnbased like this. The used approach doesn't really give any "feel" for the wind or spreading fire, which would have helped a lot for gameplay and fun I think.
This game.. it has kind of a weird fun curve. First when it's starts (the game, not the intro and menu), it is a bit difficult just before you adapt to the gameplay. Then it becomes suprisingly fun, and stays so for maybe 10 levels, then it gets too repetitive. But even though the fun doesn't last for very long, it's very fun while it lasts. Not much to say about the graphics. About the sounds, it's pretty cool you actually recorded the intro text. The sounds are generally more humorous than very good, but it works. Pretty innovative too, I would say.. I can't really remember playing anything quite like it.. well parts of the gameplay is pretty standard (don't get hit by projectile, hit other one with projectiles, but the swarm thing was cool.
This is good. It's fun, and very nice graphics. First time i tested it I completed all level except that last one, where I made a mistake and fell a long way. Then I was 5 cm from the last flower when the time timed out... and then I had to start over from the first level! Why not start over at that level? Anyway, since the game was as good as it was, I just started over, and completed it. Most games I wouldn't have.
Wow, I never imagined being a flower was so tricky This is so strong in innovation that I'll probably have to lower some of my other innovation votes. It's also pretty fun, and looks beautiful. Well done!
Pretty cool. Nice graphics, music (for a few loops, anyway). Maybe not very innovative, but fun for a while. I never seemed to complete a mission, though. It was full with green ones, and meter for black ones showed that there was some black left, but I really couldn't find any.
Nice graphics, and also pretty fun for a little while. An opponent or such would probably have helped, but as you already know this I don't know why I write it. I did play it longer than I played many other entries. The basic ideas are not very new, but the crystal things are a nice twist. Get's a low production score simply because it's not really a game yet.
Neat idea, and animated 3D-models are pretty cool for a 48h game. The giant totally scared me to death and killed my the first time I walked close to him with no idea whatsoever what I had coming for me up ahead. Sounds are pretty basic, but the including of footstep sounds was a nice touch (well, at least for a while). On the graphics side, it could have used better textures, or at least more variance.
This could have been so cool if there was more gameplay in it. I really like the voxelish land, and how it's devoured.
The gameplay per se isn't that fun, but the humour makes it fun for a while. Too bad there's no humour voting categery anymore. And if this isn't innovative, I don't know what is.
This is hard! I easily got to the first platform, but then I really couldn't get anywhere. It tried balance to the left or right to be able to go past those black tiles, but no luck for me. Would probably have been much more fun if it was just a little bit easier. Sounds are minimal, but ok. Pretty innovative. Would get higher production if it was a little bit easier.
I don't really understand why the readme.txt is in a .jar. I thoughts .jar was so you didn't have to unpack stuff, but you had to anyway to get the readme. Then the readme says there should be music, but it's not playing any, no matter if I press m. The game has a weird kind of difficulty.. I usually failed a level a lot of times and then randomly the level get's completed without me doing anything at all. So easiest way to get to level 7 was to not do anything at all most of the time and just restart the level until it was completed. But level 7 was very hard, never made it. Trees looks pretty nifty afterwards, though.
This is so cool. I don't really know what to say... I suppose the placement of stuff could have been less random, but it worked pretty well. And the circles could have been antialiased, I suppose.
I like the intro text, about the astroid and that. Always nice when a 48h game has got a story! I didn't find the game very fun, but maybe I'm just bad at it. Seems that there's no way to recover carbon when below 100 of it and when having no mitochondriers (or whatever is the word, I never was a big fan of biology)?
Where's the growth? I bet everyone is asking that so let's not dwell on it. The game looks good, and it's fun for a while. However, it's a bit frustrating in the way that you sometimes has to die once to find out which way to go.. and when you're out of lives you have to restart from the beginning. These kinds of design was pretty usual 20 years back, but remember, gamers are much more lazy today Except from that a pretty solid entry.
Nice graphics, for a while fun gameplay (maybe 15 levels, then it gets repetitive), innovative. The sound volume was set to very, very low, but to be honest (sorry!) this may have been good, as I didn't much like the song. Kudos for actually doing it though.
Strong on sound, and innovation. Fun for a while, but get's too repetitive after maybe 15 levels. HGE seems to provide more game related stuff than is actually allowed by the rules, but maybe you didn't use that stuff.
This is the game I've played the longest so far, which is both good and bad. It was really fun until it was just a lot of grind. I never completed it (don't entirely know what how to win, but I assume it was finding an alien base or something). Lots of comments:
- At the start, I didn't figure out what to do. Once I realized what the Zinc counter was, things looked up.
- The oxygen thing was sort of unnecessary, and I felt that there should have been some out leave to orbit when it was low, if it are to be kept at all.
- The first vehicle ran at double speed if you held both Up and Down. The speed was practical but the key combination was not. I suspect it was a bug.
- The game at times sort of reminded me of parts of mass effect and x-com.
- I didn't like that you had to switch between keyboard and mouse, some kind of keyboard control outside the planet mode would have helped.
- Would have been good to see the total value of collected materials and/or be given a notice when you can buy something new at the store.
- As mentioned, at some point, it was just too much grind.
- The combat, when it suddenly appeared, could use heavy improvements.
Played through it all. Seemed a bit overwhelming and tricky at first, but eventually I realized that *SPOILER* just building diagonals of all the animals */SPOILER* was usually enough (though not when trying for the fewest clicks). Having more kind of rules and not always having access to all the animals might solve that.
Pushing space jumps directly to the credits. Happened when I tried to figure out what to do (didn't at first realize you had to click a block to rotate it).
Two last screens were challenging! I had fun. Next step is adding moving blocks around, then it'll be almost impossible under time pressure.
Some sliding and stuff would have been nice, and an ending. Otherwise it's pretty good.
I played this quite some time and I really like the idea. Some comments:
- The font isn't very easy to read, especially when it's blue.
- I would have preferred to see a larger part of the world, either with a larger screen or smaller pixels.
- The screen shake was too much.
- It seems you could only carry one scroll? Would have preferred to be able to toggle scrolls.
- After a while, it's a very long way to the shop.
- You can't hold an arrow key to keep on moving, this became pretty uncomfortable for my fingers when walking far.
- It's annoying to only be able to carry one treasure at a time, especially in conjunction with the problems just mentioned above.
Sadly crashes on startup without any helpful information. Might recheck it later on another computer.
I like procedural generation. The music is cute, but it gets repetitive after a while. The actual game felt to be lacking in that it didn't require skill, just luck and perseverance. Also, no edibles.
This was much harder than it first appeared, proper planning was needed in most levels. It was fun for a while. I liked the manual.
I like. Also music really fits the game.
Did you actually need the key? Used it on a door that seemed to lead nowhere, then when the other way and got out of the cave.
It feels like there's no element of skill to the game, just luck and persistence. Was sort of interesting otherwise, but feels like slog.
Movement felt a bit sluggish, didn't quite match the idea I got of the creature in the intro screen. Content wise pretty solid game.
I just had a black window which didn't respond to Esc and that had Close disabled.
Kind of tricky. Also, I don't think I manage to figure out how to win. I visited all of the ? and so. Pretty neat, otherwise.
Great game.
I've been wiped out by barbarians, by regular war, and global atomic war. I'm good at this!
I like it. Sort of like a subset of Civ. I had a similar idea that I didn't pursue because I didn't know how to enter any conflict into it, but I think you succeeded.
Great game!
Very ambitious to make a game for Sega Master System. Makes it more bothersome to play though. I'll try to revisit it later.
Sort of fun in a relaxing way. The enemies had really large collision bound.
First time I tried to start it it locked up. Closing it left the process running in the background (this also happened when it had not locked up).
Music wasn't made by you within the compo?
Level 16, score 3086. Apparently I'm Einstein \o/
Not so fun to play with a lousy mouse, but that's all my complaints.
Too hard for me as well. Played it a fair bit though, it's a pretty good game if you have the patience for it.
In Opera, the keys did not just move the selection/activate, they also scrolled the browser window, which was a bit annoying.
Interesting idea.
That's a very yellow background.
Seems to work fine in Opera, except that the browser crashed when I closed the tab which was weird and maybe unrelated. Very CPU intensive.
Actually a pretty fun game, it took me 103 turns on the first try.
I like randomly generated enemies. The game could use improvements, but it's an OK 48h game.
Interesting piece of storytelling. I investigated all the stories, I think.
I was really looking forwards to playing this one, but sadly there's usability problems (and maybe bugs). The screen is very small, there's a lot of buttons to remember, and if you use some actions it seems you can get stuck (example: C -> select direction, but no direction is valid, or same with A). A good effort nevertheless. Suits the theme, among other things.
Congrats on your first finished game!
A score counter or something would be nice.
Running Quick.application didn't work at first. Running setup.exe worked, only it seemed to auto-launch Quick.application once afterwards and that didn't work. Then when manually running Quick.application after setup.exe, it worked. Perhaps I just confused things.
I played on until I disabled the cheesebounciness. Couldn't get anywhere after that. Was an OK game.
Extra approval because of hats. I was even thinking of making a game about finding hats. Which I didn't, which was good, since you did it.
The intro text was hard to read, very dense while being fairly small.
The game was actually much harder than it sounded like, but also pretty fun.
Will try later on a computer I have XNA on.
The LoS mechanic felt just to be in the way.
Will try later on a computer I already have Unity on.
Starts with a cool setup. Observatorying was pretty fun, but I wasn't very good at it, spotting only Jupiter, Venus and the Moon. Or perhaps that's all there was. Either way, I note potential.
Sorry, no Linux. Perhaps I can compile it for Windows when I get home from the holidays.
Sorry, had the wrong version of Allegro, so it didn't compile.
This is a pretty cool idea.
I kept ending up outside a solid wall after going through a few exits (I think). What did the enemies do? The they do that?
Java should be available in the path, so just writing 'java Discovery' should work, or so it does here -- maybe helpful for those that can't get it to run.
The shuttle moves a bit slowly.
If you hold down space, you keep spamming missiles until you press another key, creating a whole barricade of them.
Really cool game. It's a bit tricky to keep track of both sonar and up/down speed at the same time, but perhaps that's the game. I think it would have been easier if you always had had a notion of your up/down speed, even when it was pitch black.
I had a shader error on startup (on ATI card), relevant log lines:

I think this could be good, but I felt it started out at a much too slow pace.
Pretty good game. I've never liked asteroid like controls, but this one works better than most. The end menu could have had more obvious choices (never got to try rampage mode). Played with the balance patch, I think it had a good difficulty level.
After downloading the missing dll it runs. Hard to rate since it's note entirely a game yet.
This is a pretty cool game. I don't see the point of 'the keeping the robot thing powered' part, it felt more like a distraction. When the game opened up a bit, I easily got lost.
You've already got my feedback D:
Anyway I liked it.
I have flown into hundreds of satellites and the moon, does that make me a winner? I believe it does! \o/
Probably needs a little work to really function as a game (like you say, a win condition).
Pretty good game. In tight spots however, I tended to hit Esc instead of Backspace. Would be good if Esc just paused or something, not abandoned the game. Also, one time it began the wrong word when there were two words starting with the same letters. Not sure that's actually wrong, but it confused me at the time. Also, the medicine words appeared in two stages?
Poor PC: "Why are you chasing me? I have this shovel! I could hit you with it! Stop chasing me! Oh god, why? I haven't done you anything!"
It's a tough life, metal detectoring.
My first impression was "Nifty, a mini-Myst!", but I'm afraid I didn't figure what to do, just managed to walk around looking at the landmarks I found. Pretty atmospheric.
Yeah, works fine in Firefox for me now.
Props for including in game directions.
Could use a pause feature a la Baldur's Gate or so, where if you have ships without orders it auto pauses and lets you give them directions in peace and quiet. Makes it more of a strategy game instead of an action game, maybe not what everyone wants.
Cool concept, but it appears not to work entirely for me. It runs, but I don't get to see wall outlines, not even when pulsing. I do get to see the target sphere, and can almost play it by be feeling for walls by walking and seeing if the sphere stops moving etc, but I never see the walls.
I have an AMD card and is running Windows 8.
Pretty clever game, certainly minimal controls. Got a bit frustrated at the north west most (I think) screen, but got it. Nice look.
Great look, music and mood.
Second puzzle had me stumped though, was trying for a pretty long time, and now I feel sorta sad, because everything was so good.
Also, is it just me or does the first background layer parallax slightly wrong? It feels as if it moves like a foreground layer, but I might be confused.
I like this. Can't currently think of anything that works quite like it, although a certain movie comes to mind (not saying which to not spoil anything).
It's a bit buggy. You can climb walls, and sometimes when I died I became two corpses. Still fun!
This works quite well. I like that you can splat several zombies with a single shot if they're together. It quickly becomes pretty hard, I managed to get a bit over 6000 points in a few tries.
Seems to work fine on Windows.
Pretty cool, but it gets old relatively quickly. I found some houses, stayed around to use the energy packs, moved on to the next building I saw. Hid a bit from red thingies. Was a tiny bit of an ARMA feeling. Would have liked more of a goal.
Beautiful and great atmosphere.
Looks great. Felt good to cut off a large part of the level. Not sure if goal/scoring makes sense. Could probably be pretty fun with some work: A minimap so you can plan better, less dependency on ammo, maybe.
I keep clocking in on just below 3.2. It would probably be easier to type fast if it wasn't stressful! Anyway, good training.
This is really great, in every possible way.
This game is slanderous against vikings!
(Uhm, using sounds from the internets is technically against the rules.)
Very stylistic, good look. Fairly easy, made it out on the second try. Some ambient music/sound would have been nice for atmosphere. Could have used anti-aliasing also, but it's a minor complaint.
So apparently a huge pixel have problems picking up other huge pixels. I guess that means I reached the end.
I liked the resolution reduction, maybe could be applied as some game mechanic and not just for show.
The templates becomes recognizable pretty quickly, could use more variety. Also, the music doesn't loop?
I'm conflicted. This is not a video game, but the rules actually doesn't state that it should be. It just sorts of assumes it. I'm mostly positive, though.
From a practical point of view, however, it's difficult for me to play test this :(
Music is very, very loud.
Takes a while before there's any challenge. Being able to shoot would probably be more fun, but not as minimal, I agree.

Sorry for the comment spam, wasn't meant to be two comments to start with, and I can't edit them apparently, and I need to say that the music thing was my flash player being really silly. Volume is fine!
I think the fully trimmed bonsai in this game is too trimmed, but maybe it's just my personal taste that's not minimalistic enough :)
I like the idea, but it could have used something more (although maybe that would have been in conflict with the theme), not sure what.
Very nice production value, only missing music. Looks great, sounds good, feels good.
I like that you can play it in two different ways, trying for a low score, or just playing it like a regular game. It was pretty hard to rack up +points though, if aiming for that, guess it wasn't balanced for it, which is understandable. Both ways was fun.
Pretty cool. It's a bit hard to make the thing behave as you want. Cool intro sequence. Nice look.
Very nice artwork. Could have used some sort of score system (although that would be less minimal, yes).
I found myself usually just jumping over enemies instead of slashing.
Good game. Pretty. Very harsh gravity, makes it pretty unforgiving.
I'm apparently a Perfect Potato Idiot. Not sure if I should be proud or sad.
It can't be played alone? Maybe no one else was in. Didn't figure out how to get past second level.
Very pretty.
Not a big fan of having to stand still to regain mana.. well, not a big fan of having to press space while standing still to regain mana. Guess it makes sense from a wizard point of view, and for making the boss fight very hard, but it wasn't fun to just regain mana all the time. Maybe if it had recharged when changing rooms. Now, before exiting a room, I just stood holding space every time, and it got a bit tedious. Not a bad game though.
Controls were a bit sluggish.
Contrary to what rockford said, it is playable on "European keyboards", just not some countries'. Is fine on most.
I like this. Played through it lots of times. Could use some sort of score counter, although not sure what it would count.
Everything fits the theme very well.
I think I would like a reduced version of this game where you only need to figure out the solution and perform it somehow without steering the characters, maybe instead just click on what you want somehow.
Great look and atmosphere!
Good stuff, but the gun fights are a bit annoying.
Friggin Lazors indeed. Very good game! As some other's said, bit too much pushing, being able to pick up the cubes instead might have been less tedious, but I think it's a minor complaint. Felt a bit like Portal without portals. Props for making an actual good game with HTML5 + webGL. Suitable graphics, good puzzles, good length.
Got error message people have been mentioning (pastebin with log: http://pastebin.com/mmV4sujE). The first error is complaining about not finding OpenAL.
To fix this, I downloaded the OpenAL redist installer and ran it (http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip). Then it worked fine.
The game was pretty clever. Invisible shapes that moves and swaps? Not the easiest to handle at first.
Making a killing in the potato trading business is really hard :)
Very good game. Nice visual style and good mood. Ninja rope is fun. Gripping story for there not really being one. Only complaint is had to go back and forth a bit much.
Is good. Red beholders are evil. Never did complete 2-5, but it was very close once. Sad about no sound.
Not sure why it has to flash so much, makes it difficult to look at. I always enjoy exploring mandelbrots, but that makes it a bit hard. Also, the web page/unity player setup is a bit weird, it covers the whole screen in width, but only a small bit in height, giving it a very weird aspect ratio. I can make the window width very small to get right aspect, but then the total size used is pretty small. I'm running Firefox if that helps.
I agree it's maybe not a game, but if it's fun to play with then the distinction is unimportant to me, especially with a theme such as this.
