You're in my list but I'm NOT blowing 36MB after blowing 27MB. PLEASE, compress your audio!!!

cosine 2010-12-20 21:50

You're lucky Pov Let me edit my entry. :P

Catchy music!

endurion 2010-12-21 11:38

Well polished game. However it's getting pretty drab pretty fast. There seems to be no variation of the basic jump or duck at all. I gave up on floor 7 since the floors didn't seem to make any difference.

devenger 2010-12-21 20:36

Hitboxes are a little too unforgiving, and game is quite slow in between the duck walls (which are the only serious challenge, at least as far as I got). Nice bit of setting building with the intro, though it's still only tenuously linked to the theme. And yes, it has good music.

For a bit of study on how technically incorrect hitboxes can be a good choice, check out http://blog.semisecretsoftware.com/tuning-canabalt - a pleasant read for anyone making games about platforming precision, actually.

cosine 2010-12-21 21:23

I was a little careful about the hitbox, because it could also make the difference between making a jump or not. I mostly just tuned the numbers until it felt 'right.' Keep in mind, Canabalt was made in 2.5x as much time! :P

The game's cool and I liked the music, although I got an error:
"Sound does not exist."

When I checked the source (I'm also a game maker 8 user) with the "New and Slim" version, you've executed .wav audio files to play those music but the music files in that version are .mp3 audio files... I think you should change a bit of codes from the "New and Slim" version to avoid that error...

That was fun. The game has nice music, although I got an error:

I had that fixed, but I guess it didn't take. Anyhow, just go ahead and change that. I've already updated the game a thousand times, and this isn't necessarily game-breaking.

arielsan 2010-12-22 01:26

You could fix the sound problem and upload again the game, I believe that is valid for ludum dare rules.

arielsan 2010-12-22 01:28

Sorry, I couldn't play it, if you fix the sounds stuff, tell me and I will try it again and rate it.

pycron 2010-12-22 03:56

Game does not seem to run on my machine. I am on Fedora 14 using the Fedora build of WINE.

It's really a shame, as the game looked like it could have been fun. :(

fififox 2010-12-22 11:12

Good game; a bit monotone though... but still a good game ! The audio from the slim version does not load, but I listened to it anyway. Great graphics (the gooey thing is aliased, but great overall) ! Good job !

cosine 2010-12-23 00:36

Grr, LD broke. It thinks I'm no longer an entrant.
>_<

cosine 2010-12-23 15:17

Fixed, and made the game load the right sounds. Hopefully.

k_wright 2010-12-29 08:08

The file hosting seems to have broken, I couldn't download your game.

badlydrawnrod 2011-01-01 10:56

"404 File not found" when I tried to download.

danik 2011-01-02 15:05

Same here, file not found. :(

jolle 2011-01-04 10:39

File not found :(

You should re-upload it somewhere and edit the link.

_wdh 2011-01-04 20:07

I'm also getting a file 404 error. :(

cosine 2011-01-11 00:32

Grr. I'll have to upload this game for THE FOURTH TIME, THANKS TO FILESMELT. *rage*
