This game is hard! I tried running fillscreen, and it didn't seem to help the firing rate. I can't get past level 2. Also, sounds are repetative. Not bad, though.
This game is really neat. The gameplay is very good... just a little boring sometimes. Very polished. Only complaints are that the game has no "continue" and that there is no manual. Otherwise, an excellent entry!
Gameplay is neat. In a strange, twisted way, it reminds me of Metal Gear Solid. Unfortunately, there were some bugs in the "official" entry, such as blobs re-transforming when you hit tab, and so forth. I liked the sounds. The music, though repetative, is not annoying. A very decent entry.
It's like Asteroids with an invincible ship and no score. Graphics are excellent, for programmer art. Much better than I could do. Controls are really stiff, with only 8 facings for the ship. This is probably why people usually mix SDL with OpenGL, to allow for nice rotated and scaled sprites. A respectable attempt, especially in the time limit.
GTA meets Resident Evil. A lot of technical skill, but not that much fun to play, sorry to say. The 2 game modes are very nice, but they still get repetative quickly. The gun powerup actually makes the game HARDER to play than with the knife. Good, moody music.
Excellent concept - who wouldn't want to infect Europe with the plague? Game tends to give me "Game Over" with no explanation (I guess I make a bad plague rat). Also, it's a bit hard to know what is going on. A "status bar" down the left side of the screen, yet not overlaid over the map, would make this a lot better. More time would have allowed the author to add complexity to the game, which ends up being too simple. Still, a very good attempt in a mere 48 hour chunk of time.
Biggest complaint is that the controls are not as precise as the original Sokoban. Instead of moving in a grid, the pieces "snap" into place after they are finished moving. This makes it harder to line up the pills. Sometimes, it's hard to see the viruses. Maybe try more contrast. Also, scrolling is distracting. Otherwise, very good. Just enough sounds. Fun to play.
Interesting twist on RTS games. Instead of building bases, you need to "cure" cells, which will then allow you to build more "troops". Lack of a manual made the game difficult to grasp at first. Is it jsut me, or is the only way to win to "stack" your cells? I see no other strategy, such as flanking or stealthiness. Plenty of levels, though. In all, this game is a great twist on RTS, except that it isn't deep enough (certainly more time would have helped).
An excellent entry! The concept is both simple and difficult - perfect for a compo. Graphics are good, especially the lightning, but otherwise there isn't much except red and green lines. Adding the title and instruction screens was a good touch - I wish I had given myself time to do that. All in all, an almost perfect 48-hour game.
A neat game. Killing tribbles is a lot of fun! Unfortunately, it just ends up repetative. Map screen is awkward, and I think I saw some slowdown. Neat game, it could be enlarged into a commercial GB game.
Strange game. Do I understand correctly... can I only walk and jump? It seems to be way too fast - I've died on spawn already. Sound gets really annoying.
