I Don't Need Your Stupid Weapons by Fifth 2011-05-04T11:02:00
At first I thought the old men would kill me but no, they just don't stop giving me stupid weapons I don't need! :D Great idea.

At first I thought the old men would kill me but no, they just don't stop giving me stupid weapons I don't need! :D Great idea.
It's really a nice concept to clone yourself (also fits the theme), but I just used it as a time stop too. The auto-generated terrain is a cool idea, but it makes it hard to actually predict difficulty, so it doesn't get harder towards the end.
Awww - that was cute :) Also liked the dialogs, even though it would have been even funnier if the friends had different texts. Thanks for brightening my evening :)
The dialog was really humorous. But as far as I noticed, the level was quite straightforward (I just followed the wall on the right hand side). It would have been more challenging if there was a labyrith where you could get lost.
You could try to control the bird with the WASD-keys.
I really like the concept and the graphics. The very fast and dynamic combats are also great. Unfortunatly there are some bugs (in the second level you can go left right at the beginning and fall endlessly. Also it seems like the pipe segments don't react properly when you shoot them.
I like the music and the sound effects :) It would be great, if the game had some goal, maybe levels which are like "get at least 50 friends" or "kill 100 people"
This just cost me a couple of hours. Great!
It was very humorous and a lot of fun. However - it was much easier to ignore most of the enemies instead of fighting them. Maybe you should have some reward for killing an enemy (like healing)...
The background music is awesome! I would like to have a minimap.
This was a lot of fun and very awesome for your first Ludum Dare. I especially enjoyed the references to actual LD games and the metaness. I didn't expect so much content, very well done. Also: Yay for ponies!
I took me a while to figure out what to do. Especially at the beginning of the game I had to do stuff randomly until something worked. A bit more guidance would have been nice.
Thank you for this game.
I beat all the levels :D
I agree on the mouse movement, it was way to slow. The story was somehow hard to follow and I didn't get what these black squares meant.
Hand drawn menus! YAY!! I really like the idea of upgrading your character when loosing. A bit more gameplay (e.g. levels) would have been nice.
Very cool game. I especially liked the smoke when the car got too damaged. Somehow I got the highest scores when I moved as fast as the other cars and avoided collisions this way :)
I really liked the part where I ran over the enemies with the car - that was fun ^^
Besides the getting stuck bugs, I missed some animations, especially for the helicopter.
Awesome game as expected. Only thing I have to say is, that the sfxr sound effects don't match the (excellent) background soundtrack. But still very impressive ;)
Works for me (win 7 64bit). Nice puzzle game. Took me a while until I figured out how to collect a gem without stepping on it (needed in lvl 3). Also gave up on level 4 when getting trapped after 10 minutes of careful progress. An undo function would have been nice :)
Great athmosphere. I also liked that there are multiple ways to win the game and the heartbeat becoming faster was a very good idea. It lacks a menu (especially a restart button).
Please note that you are not allowed to take graphics and sounds from the internet if you are participating in the 48h compo (this includes opengameart.com and freesound.org) Please enter the Jam instead if you want to include such ressources.
I like it :) Captures the theme quite well and the graphics are really cute. Without the bugs (moving objects only move when visible, collision detection uses bounding rectangle, getting stuck when jumping) it would have been much more enjoyable
A very cute idea :) I found the controls a bit unintuitive (A goes right and D left) I lost the first game and when I restarted, I could not build the things I already did in the first try.
Well, d'oh! I knew there is a possibility to get unbeatable levels, but I thought it would be so unlikely that I have not fixed it. Seems like I was mistaken.
Okay, I guess I should make death a little bit less hard. Maybe add lifepoints and a regeneration potion? @Jack: http://www.rgbstock.com/photo/mhGxnpu/jumping+couple+2
Thank you all for your feedback :)
Well I'm not sure what I am supposed to do. I just pressed z and more tracks were added until I got CLEAR...
This was really funny. I especially liked the little secrets you can discover (annoying MS Word Paperclip). It took a while until I figured out why File Zipper returned "found no file" when I invoked it via the menu.
A web game without flash! +100 Internets for you sir! It's cute and a little bit cruel. I would like to see a little win screen after collecting the achievements.
Really cool implementation of evolution. Also quite challenging. I especially like the "Quests" which also act as tutorial. Very well done.
My highscore: 52482
I actually concentrated on one bard and tried to avoid the enemies. Worked better than using all three units. I really liked the generated maps.
Very impressive. It would be even better if you could restart from the current level instead of from the beginning.
@Accidental Rebel: Thanks :) I didn't even optimized for file size XD The uncompressed game is around 600kb in size with the 3d library being the biggest part. But it's not Flash (I don't know why but Flash game are almost always bigger than HTML5 games...) Also, the textures are procedurally generated.
It's a solid tower defense game and very impressive considered that it's all SVG. I especially like that enemies get lighter when they loose HP.
The graphical distinction between towers could be more intense. Also: In a full maze with lots of enemies, some of them begin to lag or get stuck in corners. Happens very rarely though.
My highscore: 1047
I loved the sound effects! I also liked the combat, hiding behind blocks was a nice touch.
The movement in the last part of the last level (the jumping) was a bit tricky, took me a few attempts. I'd also like to see more levels ^^
I really laughed at the different kind of shit powerups :) Would have been even better with Audio
I can perfectly imagine this being a game for mobile devices. For the PC, I think keyboard controls would have been more precise.
I couldn't play it on my machine (Win7 64bit). Game crashes with "has stopped working" some seconds after start.
I instantly loved the music :) The game really feels like it belongs on a phone. With a mouse it's a bit hard to control.
Awww. It almost hurts my soul killing cute bunnies with a chainsaw. So good job with making me feel like the villain. I didn't like the auto-jump as it was hard to aim.
I really liked the retro flair where you have to type in your commands. It also has a good amount of content for 48 hours. I also liked the ending :)
What you could improve is the user friendliness. For example having the text input be selected by default or providing a list of possible actions in the current room.
Thank you for making this game. I enjoyed it really much. The voice acting is awesome!
Very nice visuals. I also liked the background story and the descriptions very much. I didn't get, why ghosts are guarding the exits, though :)
Wow, it runs really smooth, despite the number of bullets in the endgame. I also liked the effect of the changing environment and the "boss" enemies.
What you could improve is the discoverability, at first I just went around for one or two minutes before I realised I can shoot with the mouse. I also didn't discover that I can rotate until I already completed the game XD
This is great! It took me a while to figure out that the holes are my score and not how often I've been caught. Had a lot of fun trying to be sneaky and stealing points from two other players who where online :)
One feature you could add are computer controlled characters so people can play the game if no other players are online.
Wow, I am positively surprised. The short sentences made my imagination run wild and create a very atmospheric experience.
I you want to add something, I'd suggest a soundtrack.
Thank you for your feedback so far. I wasn't aware that pushing blocks was so awful, I will rethink the mechanics for a potential post compo version.
@maxogden: I retain all rights to the code, sorry. All the libraries I used are licensed MIT though.
It's a pity there is no Community category anymore, you really deserve special thanks for making sure the players can actually play this. Plus points for HTML5, especially WebSockets and the Chat.
I liked the easy to learn, hard to master gameplay (like where can I stay to be safe, how can I hit the enemies without getting hit, etc.)
I'm not so sure about the life points, however. It took me a while to notice, that only every second hit killed me. Maybe the remaining hitpoints should be more visible (bigger and in fixed position in the corner of the playfield).
Thinks you could add are: Computer controlled enemies (so you don't have to be there all the time) and some sound effects.
All in all it's one of the best games I played so far. Well done!
I really enjoyed your game :-) Made a Let's Play video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxKt2HA2CHQ
I really like your game. If you want to have a look, I made a Let's Play with it :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=laFsCiGVj1M (second part)
I love your game! I really wanted the bats to succeed and stay together ^^" The story is superb and heartbreaking if you lose.
Balancing was okay, I failed the second and third day once each, so I would not say it was too difficult.
The scrolling speed of the credits is a bit too slow for my taste

Hi :-) I made a Let's Play of your game. You can find it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEAgDFb1sms
It is a very good game. It took me two tries until I understood the sonar scream, because I was pressing space accidentally ^^ You can see it in the Let's Play I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=40LSR6JrPqw
Interesting game. I made a Let's Play video with your game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZqNLtdL2Fs (second part)

Thanks for playing my game :)
@bace1000: I am sorry to hear that :( I kept an eye on the framerate and got 60FPS on a moderate PC. You need a modern browser which supports hardware-rendering for WebGL though.
@sanojian: Thanks for the feedback :) I agree with the Sound, it was the next thing on my to do list when I ran out of time.
@TD5: That is most likely a browser issue. Could you try it with Google Chrome or Firefox? WebGL needs to be enabled.
