LD2 — Construction/Destruction

Sheep Town by ShredWheat

Wow.

I didn't quite "get it" at first, but each successive time I played, I found more detail. Best game of the competition, Graphics was the only category where there was room for improvement.

Pretty much agree with what everyone else has said.

The only 3D game to work on my linux box without hassle. congrats.

RAR! Hulk Smash! This game was exceedingly frustrating. A touch of frustration is good in a game, but this was too much. I could think of how the level *could* be solved, but the perspective and lack of properly shaped bricks made it impossible.

I need to calm down with a nice cup of tea now before I go on a murderous rampage.

This was one of the more fun games from this competition. Simple, yes, but the fun kind of simple.

Sound feedback was above average.

Didn't give the GP Theme a high score because building up your tower didn't seem to give any advantage. Seemed disadvantageous, really. Cosmetic theme was a little tacked on, but made more sense with the monty python reference.

Sheepers by crims

Overall:
Fun. Very straightforward, there was no confusion as to what I was supposed to do. The levels were well balanced.

Gameplay Innovation:
Well, it just had a subset of the features of 'lemmings' so no points there.

Fun:
One of the funner games I tried out.

Gfx:
On par for this competition.

Sound: none

Technical:
It always crashed on level 3.

GP Theme:
There was construction, and it wasn't just lipservice, it actually was integral to the game. Not especially innovative, but better than most entries.

Cosmetic theme:
Basically lipservice. If they built stairs out of haybails or had to reach the "green meadow", etc. it would've got higher.

Completeness:
About average. No sound, and crashed on level 3, so those things detracted. However there actually *were* multiple levels, a good thing.

final entry by richard

Pretty fun, if a little frantic.

I had a problem where the shepherd would always overshoot the rubble, or get stuck in a wall.

World Domination: Sheep vs Wolves by ghowland

Weirdly, I had fun 'playing' this game, even though you don't really do anything. Maybe I just enjoy taking over countries, maybe the fun comes from plotting what I *would* do if the game was more complete.

GP Innovation:
A fun spin on the "RISK" type game. The Propoganda would have been interesting to see.

Fun: above average

Graphics:
They were easy to look at and read, but a dotted line between Africal and S America woudn't hurt.

Sound: none

Technical:
Some nice dialogs, and computer AI, but I had to fiddle with the source code to get it to run in the first place.

GP Theme:
I liked building armies of militarized sheep.

Cosmetic theme:
Basically tacked-on.

Completeness:
A lot of work was done here, especially impressed by the AI, but there were buttons that didn't do anything, and I didn't really know if I could 'win'.

windows exe +src. 2player. by illume

Perhaps the freshest idea of the games I played, unfortunately, I also had to play against myself.

GP Innovation: Clever & new

Fun:
Didn't have the required 2nd player, but the game had the word 'poop', so that gave it some cred.

Gfx: meh.

Sound: none.

Technical:
Didn't really see anything tricky about this technically. But it wasn't exactly whackamole, either. (I'd give whackamole a 1)

GP Theme:
You construct your plants by pooping. I thought that was clever.

Cosmetic Theme:
Everything about the game was sheepy, but the graphics were kinda unrad. High quantity, low quality.

Completeness:
Worked as advertised, but a little too simplistic.

SheepSiege by Kuja

I was able to make a sheep build brown squares. They didn't seem to do anything, though. The grey blob still got through them. Not that the grey blob seemed to really be a threat.

It looked cool though. It'd be neat to see it actually on a GBA. The sound was also cool.

It was a little annoying that the readme wasn't packaged with the game. As I didn't know what the object was, I couldn't really rate GP Innovation.
