LD2 — Construction/Destruction

Whew.. still, buggy by Ufo Z

Nice work there. Controls are a little stiff, and the collision is a little wonky none the less (thanks for the Q key). Cannon mode is neato. Code is cleanly done, despite the lack time.

Solid game here. Arrows are ok controls, but mouse may have been better (so you can move faster). The 3d sheep animate very nicly, and the particles are cool. Only improvements it really needs is maybe an on screen clock, a menu thing so you don't have to re-double click the program, sound, and for fun, hiscores :). Bonus points for keeping it portable. Great job.

Interesting game there :). The controls we're quite frustrating, and construction could have been expanded on perhaps a bit. Otherwise, the game is quite entertaining with is warcraft mockery soundfx. :). Nice work.

Sheep Attack by SodoMaxx

Solid game you've got there. Had some problems getting it going initially, but you seemed to get it all cleared up. Graphics are good considering the time. Soundtrack was a funky addition, nice work there. Construction theme, there isn't much there on it (sure, you "construct" an army, but ah well). None the less, its put together quite well, it has a nice difficulty to it, and has lots of sheep :). Good stuff.

Not bad. Getting shot and stopping outright when attacking is kind of annoying. It took me a while to figure out that I was to shoot the buildings a few times to kill them. Not much contruction, but none the less. Not bad.

Attack Sheep by Zaphos

I agree, its a cool concept, but its really not clear what the goal was. Instrucions/working help would have been nice. I did manage to kill all the sheeps with the combo "laser+bomb+button+rocket", but there was no "you win" message or such. I think its pretty straight forward where more effort/time could have gone. I.e. more levels, instructions, clearer interface (perhaps some diagrams as well). Just like you mentioned in the code, it was rushed so there's not much to give much credit for. I like that you try all color depths until you find one that works. I should have done that one myself :).

Not bad. Controls are quite frustrating. Jump should probably be W (WASD combo), shoot space, and platform S. As well, it should probably support the arrow keys as well. Physics are too floaty, but its nice to see something (unlike just plain y--/y++ style jumping). Solid otherwise.

Nice to see some cinematics :). The Construction/Destruction gun is funny. Its unfortunate that its not all that essential to actually progress in the level. Function keys to pick menu options is kinda annoying, and not being able to play again kinda sucks as well. Controls feel stiff like "if LEFT_PRESSED then left++" or "if not JUMPING then JUMP". Code is very C, for a C++ program. It could have used a few more C++ features (like new/delete, OOP stuffs and/or STL).
