LD2 — Construction/Destruction

Sheep Town by ShredWheat

Very neat game. Very steep learning curve for me but when you got the trick (especially moving the shepherds back and forth by one pixel ;) you don't need anything more but a house and a shearer to build the town. It would be wise to restrict the progress by some preconditions (like in AoE where you need most of the buidings of one epoch to proceed to the next).
The interface looks cool and I like the idead with the randomly named shepherds. But their selection mechanism is a little weird, i would rather click directly on the guys. And it's hard to tell which of them is selected.

Whew.. still, buggy by Ufo Z

Technically this is a very advanced game, and therefore hard to debug. Nevertheless you did a great job in this short time. It's a little easy to win yet, i guess it would be big fun as a multiplayer game. I especially liked the sound fx, they added a lot. Dismounting the turrets was a little unintuitive at first, maybe pressing c again would be a better solution. The sheep are a little slow with their bat.
Nice parallax scrolling!

The Sheep Wars by shang

With a little more practice I guess I could win this thing, but at first targetting ist very hard.
I like it that you don't place things in god mode but have to move that guy over there.
I would recommend adjusting the clipping planes, because on my screen the sheep look like zebras.

save the sheep by UberHaxor

This is a well done game.
It could use some extras to keep up the motivation. And a goal which has to be reached (e.g. survive a fixed amount of time, get a certain score or unite the sheep in one place) would increase it, too.
And why not squash the attackers with the blocks?!
The camera controls are a little awkward, but I wouldn't use them anyway during the game.

Sheep Suckers by postalrat

I had problems to find the keys for controlling the force of the pushers/suckers on my (german) keyboard (it's the two keys next to backspace and they don't have a "+" or "-" on them. The idea is not too innovative, but the game seems to be well laid out. Sound and Particles (BLOOOD!) would raise the fun factor enormously. I'll definitely try to master all the levels.

Sheep Strike by PoVRAZOR

Very consistent style and this little pixelish wolves are so sweet.
The game is not much of a challenge though. Just stacking some blocks on the wolves head is too easy, you can even cover the canons under thick layers and they can shoot nevertheless. Why not allow building only at the borders to be forced to shoot down every sheep instaed of just digging in?

Bleaters by sjbrown

Ahh, a simulation - and missions! What more can the gamers heart long for!? Grass stopped growing for me, too - I thought it was on purpose as it was solvable by a special treatment of the wood-eater. After that one I solved all levels in one try, either they are too easy or I just had luck. IIRC in the last level my only sheep did it all alone.

Trans-Icelandic Express by jovoc

This reminded me of one of my favourite games, Starglider 2, in particular the road pylons resemble the solar collectors very much.
Trans-Icelandic Expressway is a good example of a game which stands out due to its unique gameplay and not because of some technical Mumbo Jumbo.
What I especially liked was the far sight which made for some great panoramic views.
I would have liked to drive some kind of vehicle instead of that red "cursor", in order to be able to race across the highway I just built (which could use some texture, by the way).
I have not seen this mentioned already: Sometimes when sliding into an elevator I drifted into infinity without being able to return.

Bathroom Teacher by mrfun

Neat design, very polished and on top of it very educational. You should sell this to schools.
BTW: "sexy voice": Thank you, wanna marry me? Mwahahar.

Mut Shbin by Thenend

You did a very good job on the graphics side, the movement of the sheep looks great and the buildings got a lot of destruction phases.
The game could need some more strategical elements, now all I do is destroying one building after the other and taking down these flying trumpeters if they get too close occasionally.
I could hardly hear the background music, but maybe that's just my soundcard (although I checked it's on max volume).

Union Jack - with by nonnus29

It's a pity that java is still not easy to handle when it comes to games, so I hope your next entry will be in C.
The character graphics are nice, the sheep look as if they are about to deal out some Bruce Lee punches and the boss reminds me of Chimera in Wolfchild.
Hint for everyone: Appletviewer is usually the most stable environment on all platforms, so if this game doesn't work in your browser, give it a try.

Onslaught! Sounds intriguing, no? by bugboy

Aahh, I like games where you can sit back and watch your units do the work. I enjoyed this very much, because of the many combinations of units I could try out, they seem to be well balanced as well.
I only don't share your taste concerning the combination of colours..

Sheep O Rama by Bastian von Halem

There's still a lot to do in the balancing department. The goal to have one sheep survive is too easy by far, I survived level 5 by doing nothing, as I was stuck in the starting place. Another trick seems to be to just pick up one sheep and wait until the time is over (the only drawback is: the program crashes if the timer hits zero and I still have it on my arms).
And you could decrease the darkness of the eaten grass, normally sheep don't byte it down to the mould. At first I thought the dark blocks were a graphics bug.
Ah, I figured out another strategy: build a 3x3 fence and insert a sheep. This should to the trick unless a wolf beams right into that construction.
Synopsis: Don't be angry about all my criticism, only because you added so many elements (which I think is good and not many of the others did) you build a quite complex game which isn't easy to balance and debug.

Killer Sheep, And A Cool Zombie! by Pintle

There should be a RSI warning in the Readme! Are there such things as mice with auto-fire ;)?
Very clean and intuitive interface, cute graphics. Maybe add in some strategical elements like fences or sheep traps.

Sammy The Sheep by Tybal

Your documentation sucks: "e: build a bridge" at least on my keyboard it's on w, either that or some wisecracker swapped them on my keyboard ;). Those eye monster move a little jerky, I had hardly a chance of hitting or avoiding them, also due to my fingers tieing up (you must left-hander). The gaps between the blocks could be wider as I didn't have the necessity (and the time whilst shooting an steering) to build any bridges. Maybe that changes later on, but I didn't get very far.

windows exe +src. 2player. by illume

Nice little party game I'd say, though it would probably ruin your keyboard to let drunk people play this. On the other hand, this screams for massively multiplayer support so that some sheep could build strategic barriers while the others loot their fields.

Sheep Thieves by segludian

There are too few possibilities for the player to react. Some extras are needed to increasethe replay value of this game.
The design fits very well together, the saucers could look a bit more agressive IMHO.

SheepCom by Slate

If this contest was about atmosphere, this would be a winner. I don't know if the music stopped or if I only couldn't here it anymore because of all other 63 channels of my soundcard were being used by the sheep. That and the slowly approaching masses had a very sinister effect.
If you continue the development of this game consider allowing to move the visible area with the mouse by touching the borders of the screen, so I have the left hand free for eating.

chicken by yq713

Except for some technical flaws (invisible hole to the left side, no replay without restarting the program) I must say I like the idea with the construction gun, which could yield a lot of possibilities gameplay-wise.

Sheep Dome by LordCovenant

I'd say this project was a bit over-ambituos for just two days of coding, but I would definitely urge you to finish it, I like holomatch-style games and this looks promising. The controls need some fixing (mouse-sensitivity and jumping were too high).

Sheep Craft by MrWizzard

Sorry for the low score but there isn't much I can do besides walking around, is there? I don't know any of the *craft games, but they'd better have some more action than this.
At least there's a sheep.

48game valles by valles

I didn't get it. And the sheep were too abstract YMMV.

tile by dalamb

Not much to play there. It seems to be more of a research prototype. But kudos for using automatic translation, the results are always so crappy, that they are funny again. I used that in my game, too.
