Wow! That was fun! Very challenging too!

unicornpooping 2012-04-23 02:26

Wow, really! That's was awesome! Different every time too. Well done. Very well done. :-)

khaotom 2012-04-23 02:46

Super work!

pitzik4 2012-04-23 02:59

The link just leads me to a page with some information about the game ans some other links... It sounds fun, though.

pitzik4 2012-04-23 03:07

Oh, I made it to the SWF file directly, but my screen isn't tall enough for it... In fact, it amazes me that anybody's screen is tall enough for it...

pitzik4 2012-04-23 03:21

I finally managed to play it. It's a really great game concept! The only problem with it is that at the end, when you shoot the saboteurs, both times I played I missed and hit a bystander and one person got away. (Sorry for commenting 3 times in a row, I can imagine that being annoying...)

zazery 2012-04-23 04:08

Absolutely loved the game. The audio, animation, and graphics are superb. At first I found myself wanting to go back to the first screen with the story to see who the first and last person in the chain but then I realized the story tells you at the appropriate hour.

dukope 2012-04-23 07:00

Thanks to everybody for the comments. Pitzik4, I didn't even think about the height but you're right. It's 800 pixels tall, which is slightly too high for many screens. I'll probably make a post-compo version that's either half-rez or a little shorter.

orangepascal 2012-04-23 07:53

best I played so far.. very nice!

chartinboy 2012-04-23 07:59

Really fun to play, I enjoyed this one! Doesn't really have anything to do with the theme as far as I can tell, but a fun play nonetheless.

jonbro 2012-04-23 08:43

very cool. It was a bit hard to see some of the characters, as they got covered up by the ones in front of them. I also forgot who the 6th person in the chain was which caused problems at the end. Amazing graphics for a weekend project!

matthias_zarzecki 2012-04-23 09:32

Quite interesting and brainy concept!

nocturne 2012-04-23 11:59

Great idea and quite well done.

fishbrain 2012-04-23 12:20

Very clever... nice flavour/style... and enjoyed the twist on the theme.
great job!

thristhart 2012-04-23 12:49

Innovation: 5/5 - Extremely clever! I love this.
Fun: 3/5 - It was quite fun while it lasted - I was almost tempted to pull out a pad and take notes! - but it doesn't have much replay value.
Theme: 3/5 - I presume the connection to the theme is "It's a small world after all" but it's not communicated well enough. Certainly a clever take, though.
Graphics: 4/5 - Pretty, and functional. The game relies heavily on visual differentiation between targets, sometimes unsuccessfully.
Audio: N/A - Not on a computer with audio, so not rating.
Humor: N/A - Did not see any attempts at humor, so not rating.
Mood: 4/5 - A rather profound noir mood. Works well.

papygaragos 2012-04-23 14:18

great entry

pjarosak 2012-04-23 15:59

Challenging and fun. I like that you have to think.

dedhedzed 2012-04-23 17:22

Very clever. Very, very clever. Really enjoyed it.

gremlin 2012-04-23 18:29

It's a very clever use of the concept, even if I can never click the right people fast enough at the end.

graytest 2012-04-23 19:52

Great fun! I manage to always miss at least one of the guys in the end though (poor bystanders).. Looks great too!

rawbits 2012-04-23 20:02

I really bad at memorising things. It's good you can go back and compare the groups but for me it isn't easy to remember them at the end.

Very nice concept and good game!

kunonooni 2012-04-23 22:15

Very nice game, I love the graphics. Good Job!

kevinzuhn 2012-04-23 22:46

It's a good visual puzzle and a quick jolt to the brain! I can't tell if it's timed or not, since I never seem to stop the bomb going off.
I wonder what this game would have been like if it was alchemical instead!

sestren 2012-04-24 03:09

Very solid, well-rounded game. The graphics and sound serve the concept very well, and the atmosphere is superb. Plus, I love any game where deduction is involved. It might be considered a tenuous connection to the theme, but I'm still giving Theme four (4) stars for being a unique and justified interpretation on the concept of a "tiny world."

davidpeter 2012-04-24 05:13

Very well done, smooth game. Nice work!

misfit 2012-04-24 13:35

Great graphics and audio, Good job!

tentontoon 2012-04-24 13:46

Excellent, overall! And probably the most interesting use of the theme so far!
Congratulations!

dukope 2012-04-24 15:19

Thanks again everyone!
I added a fixed version that corrects an unfortunate bug with the end-game win/fail check. It was basically random before. Now you've gotta kill all the saboteurs to win. As intended.

gingerbeast 2012-04-24 18:34

Loved it! Great idea :)

khayet 2012-04-24 19:25

Wow, what a great game.
The shooting could have been more purpseful maybe - I didn't enjoy killing innocents because I'm too bad at aiming.
Nevertheless, I love the fact that it plays different every time you play it, actually reminds me of cluedo and that's a good sign. Graphics and Audio(!) are great mood-setters.
Very nicely done :-)

skelethulu 2012-04-24 19:53

oh man completely fantastic.

mimshwright 2012-04-25 01:39

where's the source code?

tequibo 2012-04-25 15:25

Very much enjoyed it. One of the best games I've seen so far on current Ludum Dare.
Very nice idea and execution.

bompo 2012-04-25 17:45

Very good! Nice and polished!

dncc 2012-04-25 20:38

Great little game, guess who/cluedo inspired but found it relatively easy to figure out. Loved the shooting section but unforgiving on my bad aim! Poor innocents :)

lukerissacher 2012-04-26 02:26

Cool - great sounds, gave a good sense of period & place. Was tempted to write things down but glad I didn't, was a good memory exercise. Finally succeeded on my 3rd try.

leafo 2012-04-26 06:09

Really cool concept! I like shooting them at the end :)

seigenblues 2012-04-26 16:14

awesome stuff!

wademcgillis 2012-04-26 22:41

Excellent.

alexlarioza 2012-04-27 22:37

Loved it! It isn't your typical platformer or top-down game you see during LDs. It's also quite challenging, great work!

draknek 2012-04-28 18:20

Neat concept!

I found the actual clicking on people to be occasionally annoying (they're moving and there's lots of bystanders around).

oye-beto 2012-04-28 22:46

I'm not into the game mechanic but I see it's a good concept. Pixel art is pretty good, the graphic aspect looks carefully done. Sound effects are used very well according to every game situation.

gritfish 2012-04-29 03:52

I think my best was 4/5. Brilliant game. Was there more to the connections than proximity? Sometimes the closest person isn't always guilty.

vilborg 2012-04-29 22:51

Even though my browser has Flash Player installed and updated, the game is missing in leiu of a "Get Flash Player" button. Guess I can't play it.

r3ason 2012-04-30 03:41

Great game! Really liked the graphics and the way the characters stand out from the bystanders. Unfortunately, I ended up eliminating several innocent bystanders :-/ Question: are the saboteurs randomly decided each round? If so, this would greatly enhance the replay value! Overall, fun game; thanks!

dukope 2012-04-30 04:49

Vilborg, someone else has mentioned that problem. I thought using swfobject.js was supposed to make it easy :(. Can you tell me which browser/OS you have? I'll try to get it fixed.

gritfish: The groups of people are defined by proximity. Except for the first and last screen, each group has a "visiting" saboteur from another group. Hopefully that answers your question.

R3ason: Yup the saboteurs and groups are randomly selected each round.

dokidoki 2012-04-30 04:54

Very very cool & novel. Awesome job for 48h.

eelfroth 2012-04-30 12:27

The first time I played, I accidentally shot an innocent bystander. The second time, I cheated by taking notes, and accidentally shot an innocent bystander.
I loved the concept, graphics, mood and gameplay. The only thing is, I wish it was longer (wich is just another way of saying how much I enjoyed this).

vigrid 2012-04-30 21:49

It's how LinkedIn should work. You get 5 bullets and network connections. Interesting concept, and it's more fun, because the theme interpretation is not direct. Reminds me a bit of Cluedo game.

paveldlouhy 2012-05-01 12:58

It is not my cup of coffee but it is nice and well done!

thotep 2012-05-02 20:52

Fun, challenging, good looking... but missing the theme in my opinion.

azurenimbus 2012-05-03 02:46

Absolutely fantastic game. And gorgeous! I saved it and will definitely play more after Ludum Dare! Good job, sir!

character 2012-05-03 19:55

This was so good! I can't write anything bad about it other than I want more!

23 2012-05-07 11:30

Really great stuff - enjoyed this. The mechanic is really clever, and while it feels a bit shallow here, I'd love to see it expanded on.

One thing is that even with the improved version this is uncomfortably large on my humble 1280x800 laptop screen, which is a pity since the sprites are beautiful.

triplevisiongames 2012-05-07 19:18

Fantastic! Love the graphics and the game is really great (shame I can't shoot though even though I just about managed to work out who it is). Saved in my favourites for further replays :D

puzzlem00n 2012-05-10 01:43

Not bad, man. It makes a sweet little distraction.

d_durham 2012-05-13 20:28

Really great. Had seen this game around but only just played it - nice idea, very enjoyable and looks great too.

dukope 2012-05-14 05:11

Wow, tied for 13th overall! Thanks for the great comments and thanks for voting everyone!
