Haha, crushing these tiny people was a lot of fun! :) It would be even more fun if the godzilla's speed wasn't angular but linear, and it wouldn't slow down :) Graphics were fine, too :)

Very fun :) It could be a great pastime game for a phone! It reminds me of good times with Diablo, but it's better, because it also spawns chests!
@VDOgamez: Yes, the map is quite big, and the world feels empty. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to balance the game properly - I have realized in the last hour there was no way to kill the enemies, only to die, so I had to fix this ;). Also, the weapon drops are 100% random.
@R3ason: haha, next game I'm going to make is going to start with a spinning umbrella you will control a skinny guy on a mission to kill a nerd ;)
@mikolalysenko, @omaha, @matheus23: Sorry about that, guys. I will try and make a MonoGame build, which will hopefully work on more machines.
@Izzimach: sure I could, if I had a way to test it on XBOX. Unfortunately I'm unable to get into XBLA dev program.
@Mago: WOW, thanks for jumping through so many hoops just to play my game! I wanted to make the BSOD fullscreen for better immersion, but somehow during the jam this didn't seem like a good idea, I don't remember why now... And yes. I realize the level is poorly designed. Should I make a sequel? ;)
I got hooked on your game :) I just wanted to kill them all, red bastards! Played on my laptop so the touch pad wasn't the best for aiming.
Reminds me of HL a lot. This engine has potential, the game had quite nice feel to it, too.
<3 The Death Star (TM). Wish there was at least some rudimentary sound.
Your game has potential. It would be better if you skipped the tutorial and just gave hints during the game. I wasn't able to figure out what to do. Hint: too much text results in td;dr syndrome.
You have just scored 5 in innovation - simple, but very effective mechanics!
Great take on the theme!
Lunar Lander meets MotherLoad. Well done, apart from the controls - you could give the ship a bit more thrust. Also, the camera should adapt to where the ship and where is it heading and should show what are you approaching. I really missed the laser/digging sounds. This game has potential for a tablet game, with accelerometers for controlling the ship, and touch input to point at what you want to dig. On a side note, the mouse keys seemed to stick sometimes. They didn't react to presses, or acted like they're pressed when they weren't. Apart from that - well done!
The speaking thing reminds me of Jigsaw, and the room reminds me of Cube movie. I like the overall feel of this game.
I like your game overall, especially the graphics - well polished, cute, and adequate to the theme. The controls could be a bit different. Why use mouse at all, if only you can interact what you are standing nearby? The combat could be an exception here. Well done!
Release it for Android. NOW! :)
Fun, simple, one-click gameplay. Very nice graphics.
Haha, spin your planet to save it :) I liked this idea, and the game itself is really fun. Well done!
This game could be fun, if it had a bit more polish, and the controlled planet would affect the bullets and rockets by gravity, not by collissions.
It's how LinkedIn should work. You get 5 bullets and network connections. Interesting concept, and it's more fun, because the theme interpretation is not direct. Reminds me a bit of Cluedo game.
Great execution - eye-catching graphics (I love the pixelization effect), music that doesn't annoy, and actually adds to the mood of the game. The gameplay is a bit hard, especially on Harday. I'm not a platformer expert, so I gave up, but would love to see the ending!
Great ideas are simple, and your game is a perfect example of that. It would be even better if the camera followed the cannonball, and maybe if you could have levels where the planets move around. The graphics do their job, I really like how the weather changes on the planets. This game has a great potential as a tablet / phone game. Well done!
Fun, simple but solid game, and perfect interpretation of the theme.
Pretty hard to control.
I love the atmosphere in this game - reminds me of the good old times when the neighborhood had just one guy with a Nintendo clone. Well done!
Interesting idea - too bad I couldn't find a balance that would support the poor bunnies. I love how this fits into the compo theme!
Reminds me a bit of "Jet Pac" from C64 / ZX Spectrum, in a good way. I liked the mechanics of limited fuel in your jet pack thrust. Hint: the camera should be showing what's ahead of the player, not what's behind the player. It is a good execution of the theme, and has quite satisfying graphics.
Well done - I got hooked and completed the game, and had a lot of fun :)
FUn little platformer - well done with the theme, the graphics are really good, although the rat is a bit... malnutritioned ;) The character was a bit challenging to control, but I have reached the goal. Wish there was more levels!
Wonderful graphics and well designed levels. I really, really enjoyed your game. The only thing I would change is the entrances to caves - these were not obvious enough - a darker shade of gray would help with these.
Couldn't play it. No Windows version in the Windows archive. Sorry.
This is a game for schizophrenics! The controls drove me crazy, but somehow I got a hold of them. I really like how this fits the theme, and the graphics, and sound. Great stuff!
I had loads of fun blowing up this planet. It's a good de-stresser. Too bad there was no audio at all!
There's a bit too much going on, and sometimes I lost track of my particle. Interesting execution of the theme, wish there was more things to go through, and level design would be more puzzle-like, not a "rush through to win".
Great artwork - very consistent. The controls are really smooth. The game itself is a bit hard, I didn't beat it :)
The game doesn't work for me. The music started to play, but the game crashed with this exception:
System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\LD23\Models\Player2.mdl' is denied.
Hint: make your game a standalone download, not requiring to be installed.
Quite fun - demolishing buildings and stomping on tiny people :D
Nice music, the game is a bit too slow. Interesting concept - a reverse AD&D - be the dungeon master. Phones and tablets need more games like this!
Very addictive - I love the idea, and the realization of the theme!
Interesting controls. Nice that the game actually has any music in it. It would be better as a standalone download, not needing to be installed.
I love the ambience, I love the controls and how you can feel the gravity. This game has potential :)
The game works, but it doesn't look like it has any purpose. I haven't been motivated to keep playing it.
Couldn't understand the rules. UI is a bit unintuitive.
Congratulations on completing LD. Too bad there was no sound. For some reason I didn't really like this stomp-and-destroy game as much as I liked the other ones - probably because of the blood and swearing. Odd, because this is exactly my cup of tea.
It worked. It might have been more fun if it weren't controlled by keyboard but by a pad.
I like it! It was quite enjoyable to play. A phone version would probably be good, too!
Interesting puzzle game - definitely a kind of game I'd like to have on my phone - port it!
I love the simplicity of controls of this game, and what could emerge from it, if added just a couple more concepts. Definitely a Molyneux game, like some of the others said - tiny populous. It doesn't need better graphics - it fits the theme perfectly, and to me (god), people are just dots. Well done!
So far this is a game with the best graphics I have rated. Quite fun to play, too!
Your game fits the theme perfectly - it's a simulation of a tiny world. It is really addictive, and it takes a while to balance the ecosystem. Congrats!
This could be quite addicting on a tablet. Needs more types of guns!
Ouch... The sound... The sound... Sorry, but I couldn't help to quit.
Original idea, yet I fail to see how does it tie to the compo theme.
Hmmm... This feels like "gamification" of traveling salesman problem. It would be a lot more satisfactory if it had at the tourists walking between the cities, and have dollar signs popping out when they arrive.
One of the best games in the 48h compo! I like it and WILL complete it :)
Reminds me a bit of Angry Birds Space, but it's a great take on the theme. Very nice "music". Your game is extremely playable :) Congrats!
Wow, at first I thought this game looks like garbage, but I decided to give it a try anyway - I got hooked and finished it. Great mood and great music. Graphics are exactly what they need to be for this type of game - leaving to imagination, what needs to be left. Kudos!
Very polished graphics, but I really failed to see the tie to the theme, before I read that enemies are wasps.
Wow. This is hard and it has this special "What? I won't beat this game?" feeling. Well done! Addictive and enjoyable. I love the respawning.
Hahaha - I just love the ass-shaking animation before the jump. I am sure, you have had quite a hyperactive cat for a while.
Really loved the "crafting" system, simple and useful. I had to use the walkthrough to complete the game though. I wish there was something given as a reward for destroying your little world with the victory diamond :)
Kudos for posting the game, even though incomplete. The game had a nice visual appeal to it. It could use some sounds from the tiny people, too.
I fail to see how does your game match the theme. Reminds me a bit of Gauntlet games.
Great sound effects - really fun to listen, not too distracting. graphics do their job, and even the promised "stealth" element is there. Don't try to play without reading the tips!
Simple, but effective gameplay and graphics. Reminds me of Limbo a bit. This would make a fun phone / tablet game, methinks.
Ahahaha, you have scored 5 in Humor from me :) "The End - Sorry" :D
Interesting game mechanics. The controls were a bit weird for me.
Fun little logical platformer, and for some reason it reminded me of The Incredible Machine.
Nice game, I have completed it, even though I had problems with building on one tile I have destroyed. Your game reminds me of "Millenium - Return To Earth", which you should definitely check out if you haven't seen it: http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/871/Millenium+-+Return+to+Earth.html
Quite fun to play. Would be a great fit for a phone game, to kill time commuting :)
Great graphics, simple controls, addictive gameplay. The screenshots are very likable, too.
Hmm... The controls aren't very intuitive.
Hahaha, I had so much fun! Killing tiny people resonates well with the community it seems... Disturbing, really disturbing...
Very coherent graphics, and nice level design. It would be nice to have some kind of an indicator that would show how many wing flaps are left. the Music is fun :)
Simple controls make a fun game. Simple gameplay doesn't always make an addictive game. It would need something more to be addictive - like tiny people that you could crush... Not that I'm a psychopath or something...
Surprisingly, the graphics in the game are a-ok. I love the sound, and the music overall.
Reminds me of Super Meat Boy. The gravity didn't feel ok to me, an acceleration instead of constant fall down would be better, I think. The controls were a bit dodgy especially when running towards a wall.
It would be really great to have an indicator saying how much world has been revealed in the final phase, because the ending comes a bit out of a sudden. The world was a bit too big for my taste to fit the "Tiny world" theme, but in a way it was fitting. Like AdventureIslands said - there's still place for "more game in the game".
Simple, yet very interesting idea, it stands out from the other "gravity as control" games. Great realization of the theme. I found the controls challenging, but hey, that was pretty much the idea for the puzzles :)
Hint: whenever you do a FPS game, put in an "Invert Mouse" option. I'm a guy raised on flight simulators, and this has affected how my brain works in FPS games :). The textures were really misleading, I couldn't really "feel" where I was.
I'm sorry, but the controls totally stopped me from enjoying this game.
Haha, nice timewaster (in a good meaning of this word). Your game is a bit hard, or my hands are too slow for it. You should definitely make it a phone game!
Well, if I could collide with the stars when I flew through space, the game would be a challenge. The ending was a bit of disappointment - flying through this huge galaxy, just to <spoiler> be squashed by a giant foot </spoiler>
Whoa, my brain refused to cooperate after a couple of minutes of playing this game. Not that it's a bad thing. It refused to cooperate in a good way. Perfect graphics and sound.
I haven't found the sword, though.
Simple and effective concept - I like this! I love the graphics and the music is great!
Really fun stuff is going on there! Simple, yet addictive mechanic, music that reminds a bit about the old arcades, but is modern at the same time - and humorous artwork. Well done!
I couldn't perceive the depth in this game right. Nice idea though. And explosions are nice.
Really enjoyable game with a lot of depth, built on a simple mechanic - level design must have been hard :)
I'm sorry, but I just didn't sink in. I would accept this game if it was an text mode game, a graphic rogue-like is a tough thing to get right. It's missing sound, for a start. I couldn't see the link to the theme, too. Controls are mixed, too - I'd rather attack by "walking" into an enemy, instead of using mouse.
Do you still work on this? It has some potential, maybe not for an RTS game, but it's definitely a good start for something - an exploration game of some kind. I like how the terrain generation works.
SCIENCE!!! I like the mechanics - constantly having to fight against growing self, balancing it with shrinking to get to the goal. Voice acting is fun, the game itself is crazy-professor-humorous. Well done!
Awesome - fun idea, fits the theme just right, and brings back memories! Well done!
Good mood, it would probably scare the shit out of me if it would have sound :D
Controls are a bit dodgy. I couldn't tell which tank do I control, and how do I control it. Collisions - I couldn't tell if I can go behind a building or not. Other than that it's a fun little game with real multiplayer potential. I played solo though, so I guess I've missed some fun. A good candidate for an XBOX or PS game.
Hehe, interesting idea. Forever alone I was. :(
It could be a little addictive TD game, if added some polish. I liked the concept of ants moving, instead of having classic static turrets.
Really interesting idea, but... And it's a huge but that you should fix... The path finding is an arse. Still, a reverse-TD-like game, where you can upgrade your groups is a nice concept.
Ummm... I couldn't grasp the mechanics nor the controls. It would be probably better to understand if the thruster would stop spinning once you depressed a direction key.
Simple, but fun. Controls make it a bit touchpad-unfriendly, but it's still playable. Would be great if you added sound.
Congratulations on having balls to submit it. What you did is a good exercise, and potentially, a good start to a full game - why not continue it? The graphics are quite adequate.
Windows. Java too old. Wanted to play, but couldn't. I will keep looking at the games for the next 13 days or so, so there's a chance I'll have a look at your game again. Like Raptor85 said - recompile for Java 6 to get more audience.
I wouldn't like to point this out as a lack of originality, but I liked how it resembled Terraria (a game I love). I loved how the weapons just got larger and more powerful, and how the graphics reflected the tininess of the world. One thing I would change is that the character wouldn't stop when swinging the sword, just would run through enemies like a lawn mower. Oh, that... And blood :D
I like the fast-paced action of the game. The controls were a bit dodgy, but the music brought a big smile on my face. A juicy explosion would bring even a bigger smile. A multi player version would make my smile go around my head :)
Kudos for submitting this, even though it isn't finished. You have good graphics and dynamic gameplay, which I think is really good.
TBH, I had absolutely no idea what to do in this game.
I love it! It's cute, it's funny, it's a platformer for slowpokes like me :) The music is just awesome, was it recorded via a wine glass?
Great work on the theme! I like the dialogues, too. The text could be made a bit more visible - sometimes it's hard to read.
Fun concept, a perfect example how simple behaviors can lead to emergence of complexity - unfortunately I wasn't able to achieve much - I was left with my original 8 bugs, but I enjoyed how the little buggers ate plants.
I wish your game could be run in a window. I liked the idea of "buying" a team, instead of creating it. I haven't been able to get into Day 2 - I lacked some kind of guidance. Well done on the living world, though.
Great interpretation of the theme, I'm really impressed! Original concept - please make a tablet version of this game, I want to shoot webs :)
A very nice, well-paced and polished game. I had fun from the moment I started it till I completed it. At first when I pushed a rock I expected Sokoban-like puzzles, and were happy there weren't any.
Oh... And destroying the vases was very unsatisfying. These should drop coins, just for the sake of the pick-up sound effect! :)
A thought occurs... The first person to design a ship without a flux capacitor, will design a ship that is indestructible. There are so many ships that break because of that one part :).
I've had a lot of fun playing this game - it's a bit hard though.
Interesting concept, but the starting area of the level should be a bit easier IMO - great that you have posted a help video. Too bad the graphics didn't get enough time, and the gameplay required good keyboard/mouse synchronization. I'm getting old. I bet a 8-year old could beat me in any FPS of my choice.
Oh, I know what is wrong!. I'm used to press SPACE for jumping, that's it!
Dude, the dude is nude. That's rude!
Hard to control. I liked the physics.
One of my favorite entries so far - I love the graphics, and I love the theme. The only downside I see are the controls. Please definitely explore this concept further - I love the learning AI.
@jwin: the mutations are subtle but you can feel them, there's 4 different behaviors a ball can get: avoids other balls, avoids purple thingies, jumps randomly, moves randomly.
@dallthemanl: thanks for playing - the swarming is inspired by... "Swarm" on PS3.
@Desi Quintans: I am planning to develop this game further. Probably even implement from scratch. And the puzzler would be the genre.
Th3dz: Thanks for playing! I wanted the game to feel weird :)
@agersant: I know about the camera. It's kind of tricky to develop camera that will follow dozens of objects and will frame them in a reasonable way.
@cappelnord: I think 3D is fine for this. It's the level design that I messed up.
@Dakota: LOL at the testicle :) You're kinda right, it's similar.
@panzermancer: Golfballs from hell - yep :D. The original plan for the game was a bit more complicated.
@ElScootro: It's tricky to get it right. At least for me.
@josefnpat: I can't wait for Unity 4, too! Sorry about you not being able to play, next time, for sure :)
@Zccc: Thank you!
@Dark Acre Jack: Thanks, I used MaPZone from Allegorithmic to create them.
@davidllanos22: Thanks - the graphics are just what I could do as a programmer, so that means a lot to me.
@Jacic: It was supposed to get harder and harder to control, but I think I may have overdone it.
@tcstyle: The mutations are subtle. You notice them when you actually observe a single bot for a while. They actually affect how hard is it to control the swarm. Tricky to get the camera to frame everything that counts.
@Eniko: Yes, the delay was a bit too challenging, and it is definitely missing feedback. I made the green stuffs quicker to pick up. Camera... Yep, I know...
@BumpkinRich: Haha, angry mob noises? That wub wub is teleport ;)
@yettatore: I'm just learning Unity and had no experience with sound at all. I just made it play. Sure, I could probably spend a couple of minutes on balancing it.
Thanks all for playing!
Fun little story :)
What the hell is going on? Nice music.
Interesting idea. I found just 3 ways to play this game...
I have absolutely no clue how is it even pretending to be related to evolution, but I enjoyed it anyway. Loved the jokes.
Great graphics, as usual! The gameplay in the original release is a bit frustrating due to controls locking.
This reminds me of IQ tests and I'm not too happy it took me so many attempts to finish the game - actually a nice mechanic. I will play post-compo version when you're done. I liked the strong, yet minimalistic graphics.
I like it - nicely done everything, especially the priest's nagging sound. I couldn't really figure out what sequences gave scores, but I enjoyed the game.
Good puzzler, I haven't managed to solve it yet. Can I have a look at the sources?
Kind of hard to figure out how to play this.
I like the visual style, audio style and level design. Everything is great apart from the controls. My brain couldn't switch to isometric. Thanks for sharing the sources, I'll have fun learning from them! :) What does it have to do with evolution anyway? ;)
Looks interesting. The controls were a bit too demanding for me. It might have been the touchpad - I wasn't able to use the mouse input properly.
Interesting. It could use some sound, as basic feedback to what has happened. I haven't managed to win, just lost twice. Quite hard game, too.
Interesting puzzler, even though the conformance to evolution is a bit... Don't really know what to say. Just fun puzzler with good sound and graphics that do their job!
I fail to see where does it have anything to do with Evolution? Anyway - great that you made something in 48 hours :)
I love the interpretation of the theme - the evolution of the path is apparent.
I approve this game :) I thought I won't make it to the end but I did, yay!
Nice interpretation of the theme - noone said evolution had to be present in a single game, so you made the games evolve. Well done!
Extremely polished game. The controls don't feel dynamic enough imo.
I'm not sure what is the point of the game. Seems pretty rudimentary and the gameplay is puzzling - I couldn't tell what the win and lose conditions were.
Even though I couldn't notice where the evolution was, I believe the enemies' behavior has changed. I loved the visuals and controls - well done!
Simple, but has a potential to become addictive. I found the sounds to be extremely annoying, but the ambient theme in the background was OK. A bit simple gameplay that feels like Asteroids, and the controls felt a bit odd.
Wow, I would never think of mashing these two games up. Well done! Easily fits the theme, too :) It would be great to see more designed levels, not just random ones after the first. Great work anyway!
Great graphics. The gameplay is a bit tough on a touchpad. Bacteria should look a bit more... organic.
My god! The music made me shit bricks! Nice touch on the death animation.
Ummm... The idea, even if interesting, is a bit challenging to put into use in a jam game. I don't think I've met any other players. Nice graphics... I have no idea what is the game about and how to control it - do I fight others? How?
What is the goal of this game? There are achievements I can see, but there is no indication of the actual goal. It's more a tool than a game, I think...?
Nice, innovative idea. Would make a very fun game on a touch enabled device.
Very incomplete indeed. Feels a bit like Galcon Fusion. The moving planets are a nice touch.
I loved the art style - can we have a cardboard cutout instructions for the cats? Laser eyes were awesome, too. I think it would be better if it had sound effects. Great overall :)
Fun idea. I couldn't figure out how to complete the game. The movement seems a bit slow to me.
Wow, I love the traditional art and music feel this game has. You have a great daughter, you're a lucky man she agreed to jam with you :)
Nice graphics and music. Positive game overall. You designed it thinking about phones, right? :)
I have absolutely no idea what does it have to do with the theme. I loved the ending! And character customization, too ;)
The controls weren't great. These would be better if you made them two handed. Idea - simple but interesting. This would make a nice phone game I think.
Flying frog - yep. Saw that. Flew one. Fun little idea. I kinda started liking the music in game :)
The controls are tricky. A bit too tricky for my taste.
Great stuff - excellent take on the theme. If you could make the graphics "cute", that would make an awesome game!
I love the art style, and the music :) There's a huge disparity between the nice tune and the sound effects, lol. Fun overall.
Whoa. I have no idea what I'm playing :) Cool idea, but the sound was extremely annoying.
Liked the parallax background even though it doesn't behave like it should in the vertical movement. The music is great. Idea simple and enough to grasp the theme. Well done!
Nope. Not my type of game.
Wonderful music. Feels like a very complete game, even though the gameplay could be easily made more complex and engaging. Graphics does its job. Convert it to a phone game! Great take on the theme, too.
Great level design - the progression makes perfect sense. I like the idea of evolving by dying. Great graphics, too!
Good entry. It has a good story potential, even though the gameplay was limited to following a predefined series of events. Great graphics :)
Evolving board has potential. I wish there were more complex rules for it though.
More! Give us more! The sound is nice and the graphics do their job.
Simple, but unforgiving. At least the music was pleasant. The unavoidable death - not so much.
A very simple game with a very simple message. I loved the pixel art and the background sounds.
I couldn't understand the controls and unfortunately had to give up on it. It looks like a compo version of Terraria, and I think it has potential.
I couldn't figure out the controls, even after looking at the tutorial screen. I haven't managed to encounter any enemies. The game seems to be more complex than the graphics suggest.
Great entry, although the controls are too tricky for me. I loved the graphics and the upbeat music.
Everything seemed too small for me. I'm sorry, but the music was... truly bad :)
Nice, simple, and quite fun game that is begging to be ported to a mobile device.
I'm afraid I couldn't figure out how do the controls affect the state of the game. Was it just pressing a button and waiting for the aura to grow? Having at least some sound for different auras would be great.
It could use some more levels and a map, but still it's a nice entry.
The mouse sensitivity was too high for me. I liked the music.
I liked the graphics and sound in the game. The controls could be made a bit different to allow diagonal movement.
Not much of a game, but a simple ant colony simulator - keep working on this!
Mind boggling - I love the mechanics and the puzzles which I haven't managed to beat yet, but will definitely come back and finish your game!
Awesome visuals, excellent music, and innovative approach to mechanics. Second best so far. (The best one is ours of course) ;)
One of my favorite entries I've rated - I liked the art style - a mix of 3D and 2D was interesting, and there was a number of cool mechanics and things to keep track of. Great entry!
Nice and simple entry - a classic adventure game, that reminded me of Dizzy. Well done!
Yaaaay! I can't believe people who do this actually exist ;)
Well polished game. I couldn't really understand the mechanics at first - it could use a simple explanation or a tutorial at the start.
I'm never going camping...
This one made me laugh - simple controls, and ridiculous graphics and sound ;)
The controls made this game harder than it needed to be. Overall - it's a good use of the theme.
I wasn't sure if there was any goal in the game. This isn't really my thing.
Would play on phone when sitting on a toilet (a good thing!). I like the simple and engaging single click/tap mechanics.
Nice little fun game, you should really work on this idea and port it to phones or tablets. This could be a nice time killer!
I like your art style and how you used the theme - simple and a fun game, although I couldn't hear any sounds and the game could really use some.
From mloteczka: The sound is awesome, especially the nom nom sound. I love what fishes say when they're eaten. I always wanted to be a fish
Fun lunar lander with a twist. I love the crude art style, and the controls - they feel really good!
I liked both the graphics, and the music. It was nice to see these little animations. The game itself is a bit tricky and hard, at least for me.
This is just a simple gambling game with a nice background tune ;)
Wow, very impressive - an RTS with a working AI. I love it!
Make it a phone game, please! I like the idea of signal delay - a simple way to make the game progressively harder.
This is a really hard game to play.
