Lots of fun but too difficult for me. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't kill all my people :(

Lots of fun but too difficult for me. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't kill all my people :(
This games seems interesting, and it looks really nice. But I wasn't really sure what the point was.
Couldn't stop the screen from scrolling up and it was a bit easy to lose track of where my planets were. Good concept, just could've done with a little more polish.
MrDanH: Did you have a look at the map? I think it's likely that it wasn't a bug, but you were seeing the result of all the planets moving towards the black hole. (The map also shows you where your planets are.)
It's pretty neat, but it gets really tiring after a while, just moving from one planet to the next. There's no end to it.
Also, if you mouse-hover over a planet you "own" near the sun, and then let it get sucked into the sun, the game kind of freaks the crap out.
Haha, yeah, I considered fixing that sort of bug, but I was pushing the deadline so didn't bother fixing them. And yeah, there's little point to the game--more like a toy, actually.
Thanks for commenting, all. :)
Very incomplete indeed. Feels a bit like Galcon Fusion. The moving planets are a nice touch.
I think this is an interesting concept, at least, I *think* it is, it's a bit hard to tell exactly what the point of the game is, adding a short instructions screen probably wouldn't have taken too much time, I do like the idea of building a network and..doing something with it though!
I didn't really know what to do - conquer all planets before they reach the black hole? Is there a win condition?
Other than that - the animation is nicely done. The whole movement looks pretty cool.
4urentertainment: Actually, it would have taken too long. I was working up until the time limit to finish what little is there. Wish I had more than 4 hours after I scrapped my first project.
rwos: No win condition, no goal. Sorry about that!
I'm trying to flee from black hole )
Promising! Keep working on it!
An n-body simulation mixed with Galcon - while it's certainly incomplete (as you said), I really like the idea behind it, and I think that you could develop it into a neat game. I hope that you stick with this idea - I might just have to borrow it if not ;)
I spent some time trying to figure out what I was supposed to do, and then had a BIG surprise and a moment of total despair when I understood in the hardest way what the hell was going on. hahaha
Congrats on the idea! As a game, it needs some time invested in more mechanics, some sort of evolution, win / loss conditions, etc, but it's a really interesting concept. ;)
Started out going in the wrong direction (since there weren't stars further away) and ended up with a nice interplanetary civilization dumped right into the black hole.
Seems like a pretty cool game for 4 hours of development. Any plans to take it further?
Thanks for the comments, guys! I currently don't have plans to continue it (got a few other ideas backed up) but now I'm considering it.
Go ahead and "borrow" it if you like, mdkess. :)
Gabriel: The idea is that your species needs to evolve to travel to all these planets--so the game's basis is evolution, rather than the interactive part of the game. Sad that you and metadept (and I'm sure others) had to meet such a demise!
