LD24 — Evolution

Star's Requiem by davisan 2012-08-27T03:19:00

The beginning dragged on a bit. The shmup sections were pretty great, but the platforming sections felt awkward. It felt like I was trying to walk and jump underwater or something. Plus they had some kind of Flintstones feet going on there...

Virion by Pacifist Games 2012-08-27T03:36:00

Cute. I understand the floatyness of the movement (it's in a body, after all, so you're in liquid) but I think it was too floaty for the kind of precision required.

Slimevolution by Pixelulsar 2012-08-27T21:17:00

That slime is ADORABLE! Yes, my standard for everything is how adorable it is.
The music is a tad irritating after a while, though...

Evolutionator! by CataclysmicKnight 2012-08-27T22:27:00

I think the only thing is, I wish it had audio of some kind, and that it was easier to get to the map/upgrade screen. I had to keep backtracking to get to that one room. It's pretty fantastic though.

Paradigm Shift by LuizHGMonclar 2012-08-27T22:41:00

Very nice! The first few repetitive bits were confusing, but the segment right after that with Mister Omnipotent Dude talking to you were pretty great and kind of gave me chills.

Moche by Ilod 2012-08-27T21:01:00

Well. That was. That was something. It was pretty insane...

It Will Grow by madameberry 2012-08-27T02:49:00

Should work now.

It Will Grow by madameberry 2012-08-27T17:26:00

@Pacifist, I'm not sure what's going on, the game works perfectly in firefox for me... does it work for you in other browsers? =[

It Will Grow by madameberry 2012-08-28T13:22:00

@nuria: The scissors only work on plants that don't die off over winter. I thought it would be pointless for you to be able to cut down plants that are going to disappear anyway. Maybe I should have enabled it for all types of plants. That and the trashcan were mostly implemented because, by end-game, there were so many objects on screen that the framerate just crapped out.

It Will Grow by madameberry 2012-08-31T22:19:00

I'm glad it works in Safari...
The reason I wanted all the seeds to look the same is so you wouldn't know what you got 'till you planted it. Not sure if that was the best decision, in retrospect...
SiENcE: I actually use and love cgMusic. =] Just didn't have time this time 'round.

Young Earth Road Trip by saguaro 2012-08-27T23:14:00

That. That was fantastic! I like how you snuck 1000 kittens in there. Now I want a poster or something with a bunch of kittens riding on a dino's back. XD

Grow by kevincorrigan 2012-08-27T23:06:00

I'm fairly certain using premade music isn't allowed, but oh well... The game's pretty buggy and jerks around a lot, and that can get kind of annoying. The concept was neat, though.

The life of Cat by Amoaeba Junior 2012-08-31T20:29:00

Cute~

Growing Tree by Devaki 2012-08-27T22:33:00

It was an interesting concept, but really hard to tell what was going on.

Beyond Our Sacred Sun by the31 2012-08-27T22:51:00

It's pretty neat, but it gets really tiring after a while, just moving from one planet to the next. There's no end to it.
Also, if you mouse-hover over a planet you "own" near the sun, and then let it get sucked into the sun, the game kind of freaks the crap out.

The Origin of Valmalvax by nuria 2012-08-27T17:39:00

Man, that was fun. I had no idea what I was doing, and I think I died a lot but it was fun. Also, some of the sounds were really loud.

Intelligent Designer by Nizan 2012-08-27T20:52:00

I'm so bad at this, but it's fun!

2052 by Mach60KAS 2012-08-27T21:12:00

Fantastic story. The "Restart Story" button doesn't seem to work.

EVOLUTRON by Strkl 2012-08-27T21:30:00

I feel like I'm tumbling around in a dryer... it's almost impossible to move anywhere...

Biovolve by Cryptix 2012-08-27T03:09:00

It took a good deal of time to load, but my god, it is adorable! It honestly felt more like getting random power-ups than actual evolution, though...

LD25 — You are the Villain

Revenge Bear by dek 2012-12-17T04:00:00

That was pretty great. It's also beautiful!

Storm the Castle by vanZeben 2012-12-17T03:34:00

Goin' for the castle!

Crunch Crunch Boom by Sigrath 2012-12-17T03:47:00

Holy crap when you go fast you have no time to react! XD Fun though.

LD28 — You Only Get One

You Only Get Won by ChrisMingay 2013-12-17T20:00:00

Man, I lost on the LAST ring. Poor babies got separated. My heart. She is broken.

Synesthesia by fullmontis 2013-12-17T05:26:00

The only suggestion I have is allow the use of WASD (or rebindable controls) if you're going to use the mouse. It was sort of annoying having to use the arrow keys with my left hand and the mouse with my right.
Other than that, I would say absolutely keep developing this. I can think of so many neat directions to take this. It would be so neat to have directional sound when you're in the Hear mode, and you actually have to listen. Ahhh I just want to see more of this! lol

One Night at the Space Opera by davekalina 2013-12-17T19:54:00

I wasn't really sure how to play for a while, I feel like some in-game instructions would help. Also the game doesn't scale to different screen sizes. It was too tall for my screen.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Little Dude's Epic Adventure by Jim Haslett 2014-12-08T23:44:00

The narrator was pretty great.

Visual Out by madameberry 2014-12-08T16:15:00

@Mincemeat: Guh I was intending to put a thing in the pit that would port the player back to the last checkpoint if they fall in but I ran out of time and now the player just gets stuck, and I'm sort of upset with myself over that. Sorry!

@Pastry It was meant for mobile, so it feels a bit better there. Totally right on the visual feedback though, I need to indicate when the game starts looking for a "hold" so you know to keep holding.
Thanks!

Visual Out by madameberry 2014-12-09T00:27:00

@xWarZonex, I do have audio. Not sure why it apparently wasn't playing for you...?

Visual Out by madameberry 2014-12-09T16:58:00

@Manou: Sure, I'll work on that today!

Visual Out by madameberry 2014-12-09T18:35:00

The Gamejolt page for Visual Out now has a video!

ld31_Arena_Battler by Lasty 2014-12-09T01:41:00

Suuuuuper slippery controls, and I never got a gun, even though I apparently picked up bullets at one point.

Snowman's Quest by dekart 2014-12-09T02:36:00

Poor bunnies. Their digestive system must be bad if they're pooping whole carrots!

discrepancy by reheated 2014-12-09T01:47:00

I like the challenge of figuring out exactly how I was supposed to play this game. I really enjoy this, I think it would make a great mobile game (and I kind of want it on mobile now. DO IT)!
My only suggestion would be to include an "undo last action" button, since placing the diagonal lines is super finicky and the only way to fix mis-placing one of those is to restart the whole thing.

The Blues by jrbitt 2014-12-09T02:32:00

Never found the exit, but I liked how it got really creepy if you were in there for a long time.

flop by ix 2014-12-09T19:53:00

ok, done. really. =]
Haha the end was funny. The moon-jumping was pretty frustrating though.

Complete The Ludum by bakudas 2014-12-08T16:31:00

The player is super slippery, which is okay for the zoomed-in view because of what I assume is intended difficulty. But it makes it super hard to jump around in the zoomed-out view, where there should be almost no difficulty, it's barely part of the gameplay (and there's no traps, aside from falling).
Holding Z to stay zoomed is very tiring, especially with the other button H being so far away. Those buttons should have been closer together, and I think having pressing Z toggle zoom mode as opposed to holding it may have been better.

Avoid Rage by jackrugile 2014-12-09T02:48:00

That was super fun! I kept dying really quickly but that's also because I couldn't stop dancing to the music. Haha

Winter invasion by Belvar 2014-12-09T22:33:00

The controls seem very unresponsive at times.

Tiny Arena by SketchyGalore 2014-12-09T03:05:00

The weapon-clashing mechanic was really satisfying! Oddly I think my favorite weapon was the candy cane.

Trapped by Smiley 2014-12-09T02:06:00

I got stuck on walls a LOT, and then I got lost. The lighting is really pretty though.

Static by Jhandsy 2014-12-08T23:56:00

Woah, that was creepy. I felt like too much of the screen/too many radios were covered by static at a time, I couldn't ever reach the second radio.
Fantastic concept though, and I agree with the person who said this should be in a gallery.

Silian Rail by Warboys 2014-12-09T01:24:00

Funny game. The hitboxes are super wonky though and most of my deaths were from when I got stuck on a wall for no good reason.

Break The Screen by xerohuang 2014-12-08T16:41:00

The random nature of the tape over the screen sets the player up to be trapped in what appear to be unwinnable scenarios. Also at one point I hit a bomb, and it didn't break anything but a piece of tape appeared over the screen anyway so I think that fudged me over even more.

birdsong by managore 2014-12-28T14:44:00

Hard as balls (I couldn't finish it) but nails aesthetic and gameplay.

Runny Square by NeithR 2014-12-09T20:07:00

I'm so bad at this game.
It would make a great mobile game though!

Phantom Tower: Classics by pandamicro 2014-12-09T22:37:00

I got stuck on so many things. Also pressing more than one arrow key at a time would stop the character, when generally it should make the character move in the direction of the SECOND press (because sometimes I would go to change direction and I wouldn't release the first button quick enough)

Snowman Invasion by Jaloko 2014-12-09T22:50:00

Pretty basic. There should either be "waves" of snowmen, or a time counter, that way the player has some sense of progression.

Mind Words by leffe108 2014-12-09T22:28:00

I'm so bad at memory games... It could use a skip button for sure.

Faster than MMO by Luke Nizik 2014-12-09T00:47:00

The windows download gives a 404 error.

Jungle Night by BitOfGold 2014-12-09T02:10:00

Really like the graphics here! There wasn't really any innovation at all, but the controls were really satisfying.

The Second Thought or Please, Don't Touch Anything by Four Quarters 2014-12-29T16:23:00

That was fantastic!
The hammer ending really surprised me.

RGB by Conk 2014-12-08T17:12:00

This was unexpectedly very fun! It took me a minute to realize the sides of the screen counted as something that hurt, and then when the screen started moving that really threw me!
"Doesn't look like much" is a pretty alright subtitle for this game, because it doesn't look like much and then it becomes something kinda great.

It's a website about video games. by Zyrconium 2014-12-09T19:59:00

You've got a good skeleton to build an idle game, but it needs muscle and skin.

The Aardvark and the Manatee by Sanguine 2014-12-09T02:59:00

This game made me so sad.
SO MANY FISH.

That said, it was really fun and cute and beautiful.

Roomnesia by Headmade 2014-12-09T01:12:00

The controls on this game make it nearly unplayable for me. WASD should never be linked to the direction your character is facing. When I press W I want to to towards the top of the screen, not "forward" in relation to the character. I just gave up because I couldn't move in a way that made sense.

Who the Hell Scribbled Me Here?!? by Feoden 2014-12-08T17:03:00

Would you be able to port this to Windows or web?

You Are Lost by farwyler 2014-12-09T01:36:00

Takes bloody forever to load, I almost thought it had locked up. I don't know if it was randomly generated, but there were so many times I just couldn't find another fire, it was too far away or something. I think instead of insta-death when you run out of "warm", you just stopped being able to run, that may work better. It would effectively be the same difficulty, because the wolves would catch you, but it wouldn't feel as unfair.

It's a beautiful game, though!

Cube Shooter 31 by cachila4408 2014-12-08T23:30:00

The controls were super unresponsive and weird.

A Dog's Tale by TKF15H 2014-12-09T22:40:00

I'm not sure why I keep dying. There's no feedback for why I'm dying, I just suddenly keel over.

LED by Nakate 2014-12-08T23:40:00

For as simple as this game is, it's super polished!

Nap Quest by sanojian 2014-12-09T23:20:00

The game was too tall and every time I pressed the up or down arrow to move the browser would scroll. Also I never had to jump, so I'm not sure why that was a thing.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Temple Pop by Todd Luke 2015-04-20T20:02:00

The player needs some choice. Like if you had to pick one of the idols and then you got a little ending image for your decision. I think that kind of bare-minimum choice would have worked well here.

EDDA by madameberry 2015-04-22T23:16:00

Post-jam version updated! Thank you for the feedback! http://madameberry.itch.io/edda

DAGDROM by Ditto 2015-04-20T17:18:00

I didn't realize you could propel yourself by shooting down until someone else pointed it out to me.
Everything is so squishy though! I love the sounds!

Komanska by feizenbara 2015-04-20T21:14:00

I'm not sure what I was doing, but blue jeans are apparently terrible.

Dungeon Master by GagaPete 2015-04-20T21:17:00

Digging is really slow.

Sun Wukong by Mr. Jif 2015-04-22T16:47:00

Hard! But good.

Head Sword Ninja by junt74 2015-04-20T21:40:00

This is the most beautiful thing I have ever played. Congrats.

Also, this is better than QWOP. There I said it!

Iridescent by PixlWalkr 2015-04-20T16:31:00

I wish I could have picked up more than one crystal at a time, cycling through colors.

BeatFace In Space by DrPrettyPatty 2015-04-21T19:48:00

I had a lot of trouble moving the character. Also, mashing the mouse button with no regard to the beat worked. Probably shouldn't.
Nice music and graphics though.

Machine Kiss by Cell 2015-04-20T15:43:00

I was not expecting the cards to shoot bullets at each other. To be honest though I would have rather been able to control my card-dudes manually (at least like, one at a time, with the rest on AI)
The music was very jarring. I heard some things in the background, but mostly all I could hear was a really sharp instrument playing the same four notes over and over.
I would LOVE a "save this deck" function.
Keep making this game! =D

Bubbles by thaaks 2015-04-20T20:19:00

I wish the charmed enemies would do something for you, or at the very least turn into platforms and let you stand on them. Cute interpretation of the theme!

A Knife Made Of Whispers by managore 2015-04-21T15:53:00

The lantern didn't really feel like a weapon. Maybe I didn't get far enough? I'm bad at this...

Cut! by HighQuality 2015-05-12T03:38:00

I'm so sad I didn't see this prior to the results being released. This game is so great!
Honestly I think the wonkyness of the cutting and pasting was my favorite part. I loved how screwed up I could make everything by copy/pasting haphazardly. It made me have to really think about what I was doing.

hypercatsensitivity disorder by JulianMH 2015-04-21T19:35:00

I got stuck at the second vertical door.

AntiCon by micahcowan 2015-04-20T20:24:00

Got into a groove swinging that thing! My arm got tired from wiggling the mouse though.

Word War 5 by SmallPhil 2015-04-20T16:24:00

I like this! I think instead of pressing space twice (once to load, once to shoot) it should auto-load as soon as you type the word correctly.
I would've loved to play this game as a kid when I was learning to type, instead of playing the dumb airport-simulator-typing-game thing my dad bought. Haha

Druid of the Moon by kmasiulis 2015-04-20T21:21:00

Nice graphics. I was somehow able to poke the guy standing on the top ledge of the tree, and he just kind of moved left forever. I think I won.

Good luck with your engine!

A Game of Drones by TD5 2015-04-20T20:12:00

I couldn't seem to get a handle on the syntax, my guy didn't do much of anything.

Glasses Protector 2000 by leafo 2015-04-21T18:12:00

I don't know of the music beat was off or what, but the tongue would break the candy and it would say "miss"
Very confused.

Her Majesty's Apathy Bomb by ianburnette 2015-04-21T00:03:00

The narration was fantastic. The first time I jumped off the tower after setting the bomb, it gave me the "meh" ending anyway. Guess I didn't hit the trigger.
All six endings were great!

Skyku by kabutakogames 2015-04-24T18:41:00

I feel a kinship.

I don't know why, but "shall we eat all the" never counted as being five syllables even though it is? Also I had a very hard time telling who was winning until I actually won.

Pillow Fiiight by BoiPichu 2015-04-21T19:51:00

I beat the guy without moving because I couldn't, and then after I beat him I could move! lol

Ants by cgmorton 2015-04-20T20:35:00

Had to find out that the red sandwich is the one you want to destroy the hard way. Not sure if I was just being dumb or what.

Debris Gun by UndertakerInf 2015-04-21T19:41:00

The "HTML5" version you have in your web link isn't actually HTML5. It requires the Unity web plugin, which Chrome cannot run anymore.

A nice Day in the Park by Polyganz 2015-04-21T16:12:00

That was certainly an experience. XD

A weapon for our freedom by polegar 2015-04-20T20:14:00

Movement is really janky. Certainly is an unconventional weapon, though!

Please Wait by PerilousPete 2015-04-20T21:04:00

Game is hard! lol

LD33 — You are the Monster

Even In Your Ludum Dare by madameberry 2015-08-28T01:00:00

@hoqjed: fun fact, all NPCs spawn in at the default size (1). Any NPC large than that /has/ eaten things. I maybe didn't make that obvious enough.

Eat or Die! by colludium 2015-08-24T23:41:00

Having to commit to a jump arc means you die a lot more than you should. It's not "realistic" to do this, but games where I can't change direction in mid-air frustrate me.

Gravity Snake by lessmilk 2015-08-25T00:30:00

so super cute!

Monster Tower by leffe108 2015-08-24T23:49:00

I don't really feel like I "am" the monster, I'm just making the monster arrive.

Vale of Embers by quadtree 2015-08-25T20:01:00

If you're going to have the keyboard do something, put movement on the keyboard (wasd or arrow keys). moving with mouse is frustrating.

Monster's REVENGE! by keyle 2015-08-25T20:17:00

The hitbox on the sword is weird. It would've been neat if the monster got more powerful or bigger the more he ate.

Billy Goat Grub by ChrisFagan 2015-08-25T20:48:00

I have no idea where the hitbox is on the cursor but sometimes I click and it just doesn't register. Very nice art and sound though.

The Vampire Lord of Valea Noapte by Scripturus 2015-08-25T20:54:00

For some reason I lost and I don't know why. I seemed to be doing well and then suddenly I lost.

Crystal Rumble by gdquest 2015-08-25T21:16:00

Should've just removed "pick a mutation" if you ran out of time. Also, wow everything has way too much health.

Nipper Nosher by AlgorithmicsAnonymous 2015-08-25T00:13:00

definitely hard.

Bunny Inferno by Stanleys_Stoop 2015-08-25T00:17:00

It felt cheap that I lost a "bunny life" when they hit the ground, even though I could bomb and kill them after that. The life should've went away after they hit the back of the screen, or bombs shouldn't have affected the ones on the bottom.
I love the color palette by the way!

Campaign Trail OF BODIES by inurashii 2015-08-25T02:34:00

I wish it was more clear what it even took to win. Still it was really fun!

LD37 — One room

Alien Cats Need a Place to Chill, Too! by madameberry 2016-12-12T22:46:00
