Nice game mechanic, nice music, funny dialogue. A very well rounded entry!

Nice game mechanic, nice music, funny dialogue. A very well rounded entry!
A lot of untapped humor potential here. Wish I could've actually seen the egg... Some of the particles were pretty much impossible to collect... Interesting concept though! :)
It seems like there were far too many enemies for me to take down, I only killed 36. Also, after it showed my score the program wouldn't close. I ended up having to close it using task manager. I like the premise, pretty funny. :)
It was fun, I like the concept, but I don't like that you have to explicitly choose whether you want to be good or evil. Also, I found the physics very difficult to get used to.
Thanks for the great feedback guys, I'm glad you're enjoying it. :)
If you score over 150 points I would consider you an expert player.
Thanks again for all the great feedback guys!
Derosa and robcozzens, I actually had the player character shooting straight up for the whole first day of development, but then I realized that getting trapped between two meteors would render you unkillable and totally break the game. So I tried making the player shoot straight ahead of him, which was absolutely dreadful, and at 45 degrees, which is what I ended up sticking with. :)
Also, bitbof, awesome score!
@SonnyBone Thanks for the advice, after I finish my current mobile project I'll be porting this game to mobile devices. :)
@demonpants Excellent feedback! There's definitely a certain amount of luck involved in getting a high score. When I continue working on this I'm going to try to make it a bit more fair. The skill part is staying alive long enough for a yellow meteor to spawn near you. The yellow asteroids occur about 4% of the time, so in the later game where there are a lot more asteroids on screen there are also a lot more yellow ones.
@chambers Wow, great job! Working on a mobile version so you can be an addict on the go!
@jfroco Mouse?
I don't think I went the right way, ended up getting stuck on a planet with a normal atmosphere surrounded on one side by hot planets and the sun, and on the other side by planets with no atmosphere. Never was able to find any atmosphere changing weapons as described in the comments. I enjoyed the sound, music, and gameplay. The only thing I can really complain about is the text being too fast to read. Great game! :)
I really love simple games like this, a great idea, and executed well! :)
I really enjoyed it! It was weird that the player character couldn't be harmed, but you did a good job designing all of the enemy types and waves. Music was good too. :)
Check out my game, it's kind of similar.
P.S.
Got to wave 16 and killed 839 enemies.
I like the idea of launching off of planets and onto others, but the physics are off, it's pretty much impossible to know where you'll land. However, my fiancee and I thought it was really funny.
I love a simple game! Awesome job! The only way it could be improved is with some music really.
I thought it was a nice, funny little game. A couple of things I noted: For some reason the planets' textures go over the in game text, and the moon's mass maxes out at 711? I really like the idea, but I think it could have been more challenging. You can essentially beat it by traveling in a straight line, the missiles barely hurt you.
I love what you did with the theme, and I love that you made it nice and retro. However, it's definitely too hard for me to beat. Great job!
Interesting concept, but the player character runs far too slow to make it at all exciting. I also felt that it was completely impossible to destroy all of the meteors before they hit the planet, and I didn't understand the point of the pink bar. The graphics and sound were good though. :)
Not much of a game, but a little fun regardless.
I like the concept. :) Great graphics and physics.
The difficulty seemed to increase far too quickly, also, I didn't understand what to do until I came back and re-read your instructions. I thought I would be able to right click on the balls or ducks to move them around, when in actuality you right click when your character is near them to pick them up and use them as a shield. I couldn't get past the 4th stage... Why is this game set in a bathtub and what are the characters? It doesn't make sense to me.
Very nice polished game, loved the little things like the particle effects and changing background color. Great job!
I enjoyed it, the graphics and audio are really nice. Couldn't really get used to the controls though.
I like the concept, love to see it expanded. High marks for humor because of the ending. :)
My fiancee and I found it really funny, and I like the idea, not sure I've played many games like it. However, it lacks depth and would've been cooler with sound.
I liked the music and gameplay mechanic, but I quit when I got to the room with a ton of shooting enemies in it, just too hard for me. Overall a really solid game, great job!
I scored 109 points. Sometimes the pink blobs wouldn't detect when I touched them, and sometimes I would start a level and immediately be hit by 2 red blobs. I really like the artwork, music, and sound effects. I also like how you showed the player's health by the number of eyes they have. Great job!
Very difficult to play, even on easy mode... Maybe you could improve the radius of the player's light source? The graphics and music are awesome! I love the particle effects.
I really like the idea of controlling a single pixel, really funny!
A fun little idea, the AI was pretty funny, they either ran away from me or we got into a stalemate with our shields. I like the idea of a strategy game based around the orientation of the player. The sound effects were a little annoying, but also funny. A little too violent for my taste (See my username) but all in all a solid entry. :)
The game crashed a few times on me when I pressed R to restart. I like the gravity flipping mechanic but it's hard to track where your character will end up with the way the screen flips.
I like the art and concept, but the music got annoying fast and I found the game became very tedious when the "hacking levels" were introduced. Great job though! :)
The idea seems pretty neat, you should definitely finish it!
Good game, but the fire effects killed my frame rate, and I have an Alienware! I like how the menus are built around the game mechanic, and the music was pretty cool. I wish the bullets and powerups didn't go through the floor though, and it could've used some more sounds.
Loved it! Such a simple concept and yet it's so devious. This game made me smile, it's so refreshing!
Really couldn't understand what the icons meant, I was trying to bring the action, romance and drama bars up but no matter what I did the audience always got bored. You lose when the curtain falls right? Good art and music, but it could use some more explanation.
I smashed all of the houses! >:D
I enjoyed what you did with the teleporting, but I'm pretty sure I got all of the cats and couldn't find anything special (I explored the entire level where you get the teleporting) Could've used more sounds, and I wish the ant just always ran... Also, since when can ants teleport XD Joking aside, I really enjoyed the game. :)
Liked the graphics a lot! Not sure what the AI was doing, but I managed to capture the flag once.
Very interesting, but takes a lot of time to get used to. I played it a few times before I could figure it out. I didn't beat it. I feel that the heat bar goes down a little quickly, but it could be my lack of skill. Like the simple graphics style and randomly generated worlds, but the sound got annoying fairly quickly.
Great graphics, but the falling sound scared my cats.
The level design was pretty good, but far too long. I didn't realize I could press up really quickly to fly higher until I saw part of a level that looked way too high to reach. I didn't finish the game, it got too tedious to find the hearts in the second level. All in all, I liked it. A pretty solid entry. :)
I liked the ball mechanics. Sucks that you die in one hit. Would love to this concept expanded.
Link doesn't work... :(
Not bad for a beginner. The game would really have benefited from some sound effects. I didn't even realize I was being killed.
I enjoyed it, but it's very short, and very simple.
Interesting idea, I was able to beat it, but it seemed that more than half the time the space and shift keys did nothing. Would definitely have benefited from sound effects to tell the player when they've done something right. The graphics were quite nice, and I liked the bird. Good job. :)
Ok, so I played this game way too long, a few hours!
Problems I saw:
- Forcefields did nothing.
- Audio got pretty annoying.
- Aiming had a random element which made it frustrating.
- Due to the time limit it's possible to create an unbeatable world. (Or one only beatable by luck) I also couldn't tell when I was being killed because of the time running out.
Things I enjoyed:
- Everything else!
P.S. My world is called Truck because I asked my fiancee for a random word...
Well, I think I've achieved something close to an optimal setup: http://www.pacifistgames.com/files/Truck.png
And here's Truck pwning zzzzzzzzzzz: http://www.pacifistgames.com/files/Pwnage.png
Excellent game! You better keep working on it! Follow me on twitter! @PacifistGames
Incredibly innovative, but I had a very hard time grasping the gameplay mechanic. Loved the title song!
Cute concept! It seemed like some of the bombs took more hits to destroy than I could possibly fire in time, and I didn't appreciate the "purchase upgrades" feature, but I liked the variety of enemies and the whole idea of a penguin defending his iceberg. Not sure how he's shooting though. :p
Figured out you could switch the paddles by clicking. Does the game switch music tracks depending on how well you do? Because I only played it once and couldn't tell... Love the concept, but I couldn't understand 90% of the words.
A pretty good idea, I like the concept, but your writing could use some work, and it's very hard to figure out what to do.
I didn't really know what to do at first, based on what the About screen said I thought I'd just have to collect a ton of fish. After a little messing around I realized I was supposed to kill the enemy fish. It takes a lot of hits to kill the enemies, and I found it a little tedious. My best score was 2. I enjoyed that you could jump out of the water, and I like the idea of moving around a school of fish. You should definitely keep working on it! :)
I enjoyed it, interesting mechanic and interesting puzzles. I only made it to level 3 before I began finding it really tedious and gave up. I wish there was an unlimited number of lives so I wouldn't have to restart the game and replay the first couple of levels to keep going. Great job though! :)
Excellent! Feels like an awesome 90's arcade game!
A really funny concept, but the ball takes FOREVER to cross the screen. XD
I'm afraid I didn't entirely understand it, it seemed like sometimes I would shoot blue children into pink planets and they would turn pink, and other times I would do the same and they'd stay blue? The sounds, graphics, and concept were good.
Cute and quite fun little game. In one level I started directly on top of a heart, if you continue work on it you might want to add a check for that. I'm glad you included a mute button, the music got pretty annoying. I love the little corridors filled with coins that are added in the later parts of the games. It's tricky to get in there and back out without getting killed. Great job!
Really great concept! Found a lot of glitches but it is a 48 hour game... I hated that every time he talks it stops you from moving. Didn't finish the game but I loved the dynamics with the lights, lasers, and mirrors.
The little planet didn't show up when I played it, the whole screen was blue, so I missed the point entirely. Also, it wasn't really fun...
I really enjoyed it! The end was humorously anti-climactic, and the audio was lacking, but you did an incredible job on the art, enemy, and level design!
I opened it, saw the title screen, and heard a little music then it froze. Had to use Alt+F4 to close it.
Very very hard, I only survived 27 seconds. I really love the idea and graphics, the gameplay just needs a little tweaking to make it easier. Maybe have only one devil get off the first boat and then keep increasing the number and speed of the devils with each subsequent boat?
Nice cute little game, I got all of the fruit. :)
Perfect length for a LD game.
I thought the game was hilarious, primarily due to the story and graphics. I didn't realize the need to find oxygen, even after I died once. The game would be really cool with some silly sound effects, but overall I enjoyed it. :)
I liked it a lot, nice simple mechanic. I was able to beat it on my first try, so I wouldn't say it's too hard. Great job!
Game just showed me a screen with a scrolling starfield, couldn't play.
Interesting concept, has some similarities to my own take on the theme. I thought it was weird that the asteroids did not hurt the player, and the speed and quantity of them quickly became overwhelming.
A funny little game, I enjoyed the different weapons, and the concept is fun. Controls were hard to get used to though, and I thought I would die if I walked off the table...
I couldn't figure it out, just went around and filled my inventory with various random objects...
I like the idea, but the execution was iffy. I got stuck in the part where you play as a rat, and you press a button to drop a block on your head. A dodged the block and then couldn't die to continue.
Not a bad game, the enemies were pretty harmless until I got to the boss which I wasn't expecting to shoot at me since nothing else in the game did. Got killed by it... The music doesn't really seem to match the gameplay, but the controls felt pretty good. Although sometimes it was hard to fit through hallways. Good job! :)
Definitely the best LD23 game I've played so far!
I like the concept a lot, but there were some minor things that bothered me. The text isn't up long enough to read, and it's white so it's invisible against some objects. The graphics were awesome!
A nice idea, but I found there were too many actions for the mayor to perform. It was very hard to shoot on my laptop trackpad, and the aliens come very quickly.
When I tried to leave the forest with all of the potions in it the game froze. :( I really liked the artwork, music, and silly story, but the game could really use some instructions. I didn't realize I could double jump until near the end of my playtime, and I'm not sure if I have a weapon I can use or not?
I liked it a lot, had the same bug others mentioned about warping into walls. I wish the enemies that rammed you either had less HP or moved more slowly. You can't see them coming until they hit you and they take like 8 hits to kill. The graphics, sound, and level design were all great!
Decent concept, doesn't control very well though. Definitely wouldn't want to play it on a touch device. At one point I'm pretty sure it became impossible, not sure if that was intentional or not... I liked that the art style was simple, and my fiancee and I thought the story was funny. (Not sure if it was supposed to be) Good job. :)
I like the idea, but you have to trudge through quite a lot of story to get to the actual gameplay... I ended up getting to an unbeatable level. The game told me to use 2 bombs when I was only given one to use.
Got stuck on stage 3 until I read your comment, finished the game. Not a bad idea but could use more work. Good job though. :)
Having the same problems as all of the others, but I definitely do like the screen transition effect. I'd be interested in knowing how you did it. :)
The game was really boring, but I loved the randomly generated world. I collected the engine before the radar (I saw it first) and that kind of broke the game, but I was able to figure it out anyway. Could definitely have used some audio, but good job anyway!
Simple but fun concept, could use some sound. Like the colorful graphics, you should continue working on it! The ending was a little anticlimactic.
Rather boring, and the ending was extremely anti-climactic. I liked the climbing mechanic though, wish you had explored it more.
Definitely the most well-rounded game I've played this time around. My fiancee and I loved the music, graphics, and story. You did an excellent job! There needs to be more singalong games!
I really enjoyed it! Who knew something so simple could be so fun!
I wasn't sure what to do after planting the first seeds... I enjoyed the dialogs about not being able to fly or swim though.
I enjoyed it a lot, great concept and great execution. The sound, graphics and gameplay all worked together perfectly!
I liked it a lot, although it was kind of hard to play with my laptop track pad... I ended up not using bombs very much because it was hard to manipulate so many different keys. Great job overall!
Didn't beat it, but I enjoyed what I played. :)
Wish the jumping worked a little bit better.
The only way to win is to let the ants loose, maybe the game is just being ironic? Liked the catchy little song. Cool concept, I enjoyed it. :)
I enjoyed it, would love to see it expanded. I didn't like how the world spun, made it harder to select what I wanted to. The graphics were nice and colorful, great job! :)
Very moody, I like it. The ending seemed rather abrupt, but you did make it in 48 hours. Good job! :)
Funny little game, desperately needs sounds, couldn't tell when I was getting hurt or when I was done reloading. The highest I got to was 70...
I like your idea about how meeting more people can help your character achieve more, but the execution was rather lackluster. I liked the short music track though, very calming.
A few issues I had:
- When restarting the game with R, the background music from the previous game continues playing.
- The enemies seem to do completely random things at times? I got a turn speed of 0 and had to quit because I had left the area of the game which contained all of the enemies and couldn't turn around.
- The sound of the enemies killing each other can get a bit annoying at the start of the game when there are a ton of enemies. They seem to stop spawning after a time.
Those things aside, I found the game's concept and minimal graphics pretty interesting.
Despite spending more than half of the compo time on level design, the levels still aren't where I want them to be. There were originally going to be 5 levels for each enemy type followed by a few boss levels with multiple enemy types. I had a hard time designing levels for the enemies that mirror your movement so there are only 3 of those levels. Glad you enjoyed it anyway. :)
It was fun, even though I can't understand why!
Loved the detail that went into the animations.
A short, funny game, great job!
Very very funny, but also very very hard!
Loved the not play option on the title screen and the opening cutscene.
Gave up on beating the first level after only a few tries. I'm sure I could beat it, but it was very frustrating.
Really didn't like the feel of the player's jump, and the shooting was strange, he fires a continuous stream if you hold down space.
I liked the cute little story though, but I couldn't read the "You Win" text because it was only onscreen for like half a second.
Incredible!
Don't know what else to say!
Played it on my iPhone 3GS, worked perfectly!
Interesting little game. I like that you let the player figure out what to do. Could definitely have benefitted from a little sound though. Good job! :)
The story/instructions were way too long, you probably didn't need any more instruction than was on the game's title screen.
I couldn't tell what the PSSSHHHHH noise was coming from but it was loud and actually a little painful to the ears.
That aside, I did enjoy playing this game. The slime trail was a pretty cool power!
Couldn't get it running, same error as the others.
Windows Vista, 32 Bit. Ran from the command prompt.
Sorry. :(
I really like the concept, and especially the transitions between segments, but there were a few things I didn't like:
- The game of Pong doesn't seem to have any purpose since getting the ball past the other player didn't earn me any points,
- The Space Invaders take far too long to come onscreen and it's annoying to have to sit there and wait for them to do so!
- The game crashed after the Space Invaders segment and wouldn't let me see the next game.
You did a great job though, and I enjoyed it anyway!
I crashed it by putting down all of my horses and then going to the races! Will give a more thorough review after some more playing!
I really enjoyed it, especially the last part with the turrets and the moving platform, very clever!
My only real complaint is that the platforming physics are a little wonky...
At first I couldn't tell what to do and thought I was the fleshbag, not the robot! I made it through 4 battles with armies and then it crashed in a spectacular flash of gray and white!
What did you use to program this?
Keep learning so you can make something better next time! :)
I tried for a very long time to get past the four guys to grab the red candy. The green lollipop doesn't appear to do anything...
A few problems:
- There's no point of reference in the background so there's no way to tell that you're even moving unless there are enemies onscreen.
- Enemies only give 5 LE when killed, but evolving costs 2000 LE. Assuming it takes me 10 seconds to kill an enemy, it would take me over an hour of killing enemies to evolve once.
That aside, I enjoyed the idea of the game and the background music. Good job. :)
Also, the stats for when you hit an enemy disappear far too quickly.
Tried playing it a few times, all kinds of weird issues. It won't register my clicks on the title screen unless I click the top left area, and when I try to plant the seeds in the game it crashes with a white screen. I'm using the newest version of Firefox if that helps. It seems like a really nice fame though!
Was able to get it working on another computer!
(I like to rate all of the games made by people who rate mine.)
I thought it was a very cool idea, but in practice it was a bit tedious. There probably shouldn't be a "Plant?" dialogue, not only because it's buggy, but also because without it you can perform actions much more quickly. I liked the title screen art, and wish the in-game graphics were as cool looking. Would've been nice to have a group seed select as well. I spent a lot of time throwing out extra seeds. Was only able to unlock the ivy and thorn bush. All in all though, I liked it. Bonus points for being nonviolent. ;)
Lost on my first playthrough and won on my second.
It's difficult to tell what exactly the stats do...
I liked the variety of monsters you could create though!
Wish the battles went a little faster.
Possibly with a line between the attacks in the text box.
Great job for your first time!
Download link leads to a 404 page.
Not bad, I enjoyed it. Some parts were slow, and I thought the ending would be different depending on which mate I chose, but it wasn't. The first time I saw a rat I thought I could kill it, but I couldn't. It also seems like it's impossible for the cat to die so there's no real point in evading enemies. But, all that aside, I liked the style and animation, as well as the music, although I see you didn't make that yourself. Great job guys! :)
VERY cool game!
The more particular you are in picking out the weak cats, the stronger your army gets! Loved the procedural music and funny graphics. Great idea giving the cats visual differences based on their stats. I enjoyed it and played for around an hour. Only beat the 3rd level though... This game could be great if you keep developing it!
Also, am I doing it right?
http://www.pacifistgames.com/files/screen.png
I actually just beat it, my favorite game of the Dare!
I enjoyed it, a simple and fun game with a cute story. :)
I was hoping it would be more puzzley though.
If you designed the universes yourself it probably would be.
The random generation leads to some universes that are super easy to complete and some that are impossible.
Completely hilarious!
My wife and I played a couple of rounds and were laughing so much! Thanks for the game!
A few small issues you might want to know about:
-Sometimes kicks don't register
-After a match clicking doesn't always restart the game
I didn't like the unskippable intro, especially since it was so easy to die...
The story didn't make a whole lot of sense to me either, but you did a good job with art and enemy patterns.
I experienced the bomb bug as well.
Definitely would have benefited from some sound.
I really like the music, it would definitely be cool if you did some more work on it!
I only played through once, beat the guy at War and it ended. Loved the animation, will definitely play again! It has to do with the evolution of games, no? Very cool!
Installed it and everything, but apparently my graphics card isn't good enough for XNA... I tried, sorry. :(
I love a game that doesn't take itself too seriously!
I ran around the city blowing up cars with my laser vision!
Great fun! Good job!
Very cute, I enjoyed it. :)
I really enjoyed it!
I liked how I could customize my character to fit my play style, very cool! Great job!
The graphics were charming. :)
I was able to get all 10 of the things following me, whatever they are...
I didn't hear any music or sounds though...
Really enjoyed the music and graphics, but the levels were so unnecessarily large!
I got to the level where you must break three pieces of coral (The level with the shark) but the last thing wouldn't fly into the coral so I gave up... :(
A neat idea!
In the future you should think about what motivation the player has to actually leave the safe room. I mean, you could stand in there all day and never have to worry about the explosion.
As you've said, there are a number of bugs. Disregarding these, I found the game to be pretty boring. The levels were large and sparse, and killing all of the enemies without dying seemed impossible.
That aside, I really liked the evolution premise. Keeping the controls the same but going one leap at a time into the future was cool.
Oh my god the world needs more cross stitch games!
My best score was 114 carrots and 39 crabs dead.
I enjoyed the sunrise and sunset, a simple but cool touch.
The story didn't fit well with the actual game, but that's forgivable. Best game I've played so far, even without sound.
I got stuck in the bottom right-hand corner of the first ice level. You might consider lowering one of the platforms so you can get out?
Other than that, a nice solid little platformer. Some of the powerups seemed redundant though, unless they get mixed in later levels.
The text was well written, and the game had a certain mood and subtlety. I played it a few times to check out the endings. I love it! :)
Cute, you won me over with the first line!
You did a great job with the level design of the second segment, though I was able to exploit the third segment by parking my tank directly next to the bunker holding right and shooting. Awesome game, great job!
That was a really neat experience, thanks. :)
Only one small gripe really, which is that the glass breaking sound is painful to the ears. Played with headphones on and it made me cringe.
Well that was interesting...
I found the level where you must jump into spears pretty counter-intuitive, especially considering you need to avoid getting hit by the same spears in the game's last stage.
I liked the jumping mechanic, though the speed of it probably could have used some tweaking. There were also periods of time where the enemies just didn't do anything...
But all in all, a nice, strange, entry.
Cute little game, I liked it!
If you work on this more, definitely change the bullet sound.
It was hard to get the bullets to deflect in the way you wanted them to.
I made it to the point where you have to kill 15 of your target. I felt like the movement was a bit too slow for my liking. I ended up playing as the fast woman, and using the running perk. I didn't quite understand what would cause the police to come after you. I had good results avoiding them by simply running far away before killing again. I was disappointed to find out that the police came after you when you pushed your target into the road to be run over.
The game feel was really good, but the game lacked any sort of challenge. I would have been able to play forever if my ship hadn't started firing blanks. It also seems that some of the enemy ships wouldn't register being hit. I also found myself wishing that the player ship was actually centered in the window. That aside, I did like the graphics and audio. Did you actually do the audio yourself?
Might have uploaded the wrong build initially, one of the last fixes I made was removing a few spikes that could cause an infinite death loop. The game is definitely completable now. Take a screenshot if you have any issues!
I ran my debugger to make sure that room was working correctly, and it is. You need to slide along the wall to line yourself up with the hole. If you hold right for too long before you make the jump, you'll slide into the hole, but then slide right into the spikes. It takes a few tries to get the timing right.
@Falkreon I developed the controls without the input delay and added it afterward. I buffer all of the input into an array then feed it to the player character 60 frames later. While I was able to recreate the situation you mentioned, I can't seem to figure out why it's happening!
I had originally planned on having variable input delay, but found that when I implemented it, it was nearly impossible to properly time jumps! I figured the game was already frustrating enough, so I scrapped that idea. As it turns out, a 1 second latency is exactly long enough to frustrate without making the game impossible.
Glad it's causing everyone a bit of frustration, fury and annoyance! I set out to explore the effects of latency in video games and found that generating fury is what it's best at. So I built the game around that idea! I think it's hilarious how hard it is to jump over a single spike or pit with input lag!
That was so hard, but I did it!
My strategy was to first dig a tunnel to the center of the world, then repeatedly circle it, avoiding enemy bullets until I destroyed it all.
Experienced some slowdown toward the end which really added to my anxieties!
In the future you might want to write shorter game descriptions. Most of that information isn't necessary to enjoy the game!
Looks like you're going to win the humor category again this year! This game made me smile. Great job!
Cute little game, love the concept!
No background music in Firefox, Windows 7 64-Bit.
Everything else worked fine.
Really cute game!
I loved the variety of kids and animals.
Great job!
I really liked the selection mechanic, but found that if I circle the mouse in the window I can make my selection area stay quite large. If you continue working on this maybe you should add some "bad code" that hurts you if you collect it. Cool concept!
Fun game, but the agent moved so fast! He was hard to control in almost all situations!
I'm not really sure how to rate this...
I mean, I found it disturbing, and that appears to have been the point...
Hard to get used to at first because the enemy ships go very fast, and sometimes when you're trying to shoot, the game detects it as a drag instead.
I liked the collection mechanic though, very cool!
If you develop this further, try to pick a shooting sound that's at a slightly lower pitch!
I had it crash once when my bullet hit one of the other ships, and the game's icon was showing up as random icons from other programs on my PC. Very strange.
Good job!
Really enjoyed it!
Cute art, exceptional music!
I found it a bit difficult though...
Don't forget to include your source!
I thought the spewing mechanic was pretty cool, but the game was a bit short. Quite liked the graphics and audio. Really nice HTML5 game!
Great job, a fun little game!
I found that I could stay alive forever if I stayed at the top of the screen. Perhaps next time try to dedicate a little bit more time to game balance?
Really liked the graphics, audio, and whole premise. :)
I managed to eat 45 fairies before giving up. The timer is far too long, I can't imagine anyone playing that long. It looks like you were trying to do something cool with the controls, but unfortunately they ended up being very hard to use. The graphics and audio could also use some work. Good effort though!
Very interesting game!
I wasn't expecting something this moody!
Really enjoyed it. :)
The game crashed on me one round after the text stopped appearing, just a heads up.
A very cool idea!
I enjoyed the game, though it's hard to figure out a strategy that will actually allow you to win reliably! Keep working on this!
Nice little game!
I liked the layer of smog that was added as you made more money!
Great game, loved the variety of levels you were able to create!
I liked the story and mechanics, very funny!
My only complaint is the art. Great job!
My best score was 821, I made it to level 5. I really didn't like how I had to play each level 3 times, it made the game feel very repetitive. Dracula's jump was pretty weird, and the goats moved a bit fast, but I really enjoyed the game as a whole. Great job!
With some proper collision detection and gravity this game could be quite fun!
Interesting concept!
I'm sure if you work at it more it could grow into something really neat! I like the look of your characters. :)
It took me a little bit to figure out, but when I did, it was great! I was only able to score 8 hearts... Great game!
I liked the story, and appreciated the narration, but found the gameplay to be pretty poorly balanced. Good job regardless!
Really enjoyed the music, but found the game pretty much impossible to win... I liked the ref game though, it was pretty funny! I'm assuming that all of the players having a 7 on their jersey is a reference to your username?
Nice concept with cute art! I got stuck on the first level with the Death Star until I realized I could still collect souls after Vader died!
Amazing!
The only issue I had was that it became pretty much impossible to get back to the refueling station after a certain amount of blocks had been destroyed.
Interesting game! I only ended up using the fighters, and made it to level 10. Eventually I ran out of money and could no longer buy more ships or select my old ones to shoot with, so I died. I wasn't really sure where my money was coming from, or how much each unit costed, but I enjoyed it! If you work on it more, definitely add some sounds and try to simplify the game system!
That was certainly interesting.
At first I had no idea I could control the robot, because the levels ended so quickly. I was also confused by the way your money earned restarts every level, but once I got the hang of it, I finished the game in no time. Great job with the music! I also enjoyed the bit of dialogue between the robot and his master.
Interesting game system! Would have been much improved if the zombies couldn't stand on top of one another! I almost beat it, had only 3 soldiers left to kill, but unfortunately my zombies stopped spawning for some reason. If you continue working on this, definitely make it easier to tell what is and isn't a wall! I kept taking cover behind things only to find out that they weren't solid!
I made it to about 385 by just going as fast as possible, shooting missiles occasionally. I have no idea how you made something this complex in 48 hours! I wish the control scheme was a little simpler, it's hard to maneuver on a laptop.
I really like the idea and would love to see it developed further, but I don't like that you lose the block you're holding when the character dies. Makes things needlessly frustrating, especially on a laptop trackpad.
It might be better to have a pause/play button to control the character's movement? I found the constant jumping noise really annoying.
I made it to level 5 before stopping. You should really keep working on this, it shows a lot of promise!
Very nice, very complete game!
As the others have mentioned, the graphics and audio are great! I love the little things, the elves running back and forth, the changing scenery, etc. I particularly liked how you used the reindeer as a health bar, but I didn't catch on to it at first. Scored 1200 on my second game!
Could still use a lot of work. I was expecting to die when my score hit zero, but instead it just went into the negative. You also don't seem to get damaged by getting hit with water, but rather, you get damaged by being within radius of a hydrant with water coming out of it...
I found myself really wishing the ghosts would just stay where I placed them, but I guess that would be a bit unfair... It seems like the scoring system doesn't work. My score was always 0, even after I killed Pacman 3 or so times. Great job though! I enjoyed it!
Interesting game.
I missed some of the dialog because it goes away when you press the arrow keys, so I played it twice. I thought the story was a bit strange, but it was cool how the game mechanic was so linked to it. Good job!
I really enjoyed it, despite not being able to beat the final level! There were a few times when I found myself without any ammo and surrounded by zombies, but I guess I should have prioritized my weapons better. Great game!
Great job!
I liked everything really, the music, story, graphics, gameplay, the whole thing!
I played through and killed all of the monkeys. Very difficult, they're so fast! Wasn't expecting them to go through the floors at first! Wasn't sure what the point of the multi-colored balls or torch were either... Great effort!
Wow, super elegant!
The piano music caught me off guard, but I really liked it!
Really great job!
Cute. I like it!
Just wanted to stop in and thank you for your GM Wave Motion Tutorial. Really helped me out with my entry!
It's very cute, and has great music, but there just isn't that much to do...
I really liked it! Loved the art style too!
My high score was 54 after 5 or so tries.
I found that the guns weren't really different enough to justify ever changing weapons. The 2nd gun was generally the best. The enemies' attack patterns weren't terribly different from one another either, but I did like the variety in their appearances. The various level designs were really fun! I also thought it would have been a more enjoyable game if it just had directional shooting, rather than mouse aiming, but that's just my opinion.
Anyway, a really solid entry! Great job!
Really elegant puzzle game!
I really enjoyed figuring out the controls, and the visuals were very nice. I was able to complete them all in a few minutes. I feel that the only thing the game lacked was a little sound.
Also, thanks for the nice comment on my entry! :)
Really interesting, but hard to grasp with so many units on the screen. It might have been more interesting if each of the colonies started with a small stable collection of units, rather than a large random mix.
Were the sounds an indication of whether you lost or gained units in that generation? I really couldn't tell.
I managed to win!
What I liked: The way the room exploded outward!
What I didn't like: When the enemies spawned on top of me!
Thanks so much for playing my entry on your livestream, it was super cool!
Very nice game!
The visual style was pretty cool, though I wasn't sure what it was trying to tell me. I liked the variety of the game mechanics, but found myself wishing you had explored each individual mechanic more thoroughly instead of having one-off kind of levels. Really solid game! I enjoyed it!
I found myself wishing that the gameplay progressed a little more slowly. I beat the game on my first try, simply mashing the buttons at random... Great job with the audio! The graphics were great too! I really liked the tree at the end.
It was fun to mess around with, but there was no real goal, no way to win or lose... Also, I found it really hard to control the snake and aim at the same time... Maybe it was just me? Great effort guys!
Completed it, though the level before the last one took me probably like 30 or so tries. (The Meteor storm level)
Really interesting mechanic!
Does the game run at 30 fps? I found that it was a bit hard to aim SDFJKL's arms well. Maybe you could increase the frame rate and decrease the distance the arms rotate each frame?
Well, that was interesting.
I chose to keep the rock.
Guess I made the wrong choice.
Really cool game!
I don't typically like tower defense games, but this one was pretty interesting! Liked the pheromone system!
I would post my score, but I could survive indefinitely:

Beat all three modes, and saw the easter egg! A cute game!
Could definitely have used a little music.
At first it was very confusing, until I realized two things:
1 - The alien ships loop around the screen.
2 - It doesn't matter if they hit the Earth.
After that I just carefully picked off the aliens one by one, working my way from the top down. Not bad!
So sad that you took your game down!
I highly doubt NAMCO-BANDAI would even care...
I enjoyed it when I played it earlier.
Thanks so much for playing and rating my entry!
You wrote a long game description about the game's concept, gameplay, and connection with the theme, but never once mentioned that you play the game with the mouse and mouse buttons! Try to keep the description short, people want to play your game, not read about it!
That aside, I thought the gameplay was pretty interesting. I thought that the game's story was kind of tacked on and unnecessary though. It didn't seem like the game had anything to do with daily routines or life, even in the most abstract sense. Still a fun music toy though! You did a great job recording so much audio!
Well, that was weird.
Finished the game.
Is it intentional that the left key stops working in month 3?
Made the game hard to complete, but I did it anyway!
Really interesting, but as you'd imagine, it creates some pretty nonsensical haikus most of the time. I'd share the last one I got, which I liked a lot, but the game ate my cursor and I had to ALT+F4 to get out... Good job though! :)
That was weird.
I didn't like it too much, but I tend to feel that way about games which force me to have my character do things that I wouldn't want them to do...
The part with the -CENSORED- was pretty funny.
Good job!
I like your take on the genre, but found hunting down and killing all of the enemies in each level to be incredibly tedious.
My highest score was 86.
It took a long time to load, I imagine because of the super long ambient sound loop in the game.
I really like the grid idea, and how destroying the enemies made a hole in the grid. A lot of potential there!
I feel that the game would be a lot stronger if the entire grid would fit on the screen at once. Most of the time I died because I didn't have enough time to react once I saw an enemy.
Really cool entry!
It looks really cool, but it was actually kind of boring... The repeated sound effects got kind of annoying, and there just wasn't much to do. Don't get me wrong, it was still really cool, maybe just not my cup of tea. I enjoyed the little mario reference toward the end. :)
Amazing job as usual!
A great companion to nanospin. You're great at these minimalistic puzzle games!
Great job with the audio, but you should note that it doesn't work in Firefox! Really enjoyed the simple touches, like the way that the orange squares break apart when you hit them. Great job!
That was AWESOME!
Completed the game with 33 soldiers!
Amazing job guys!
I liked it a lot, super fun! :)
Where did the list of player names come from, because I was "Pacifist Games" and I saw another player on my team called "PacifistGames" did you pull them from your twitter followers?
Interesting concept combining Rogue-like tropes with a game of Breakout. I thought it was pretty fun, and enjoyed the variety of powerups. The screaming noise was really annoying, but the others weren't bad!
Clever!
My wife and I liked it!
Did you hit up the vegan restaurants in NYC?
Didn't perform too well in Firefox, but loaded it up in Chrome and had no real problems. Really interesting mechanics, and I loved the weird art style, but it felt like there was a lot that was left unexplored... Great job though! :)
I felt that this game would've been much stronger without the story element, as a simple arcade experience.
That being said, I found the game way too difficult. It felt like whether you survived or not was all based on chance really... Nice little background tune though!
I really enjoyed it!
I loved that the music tied in with the battery meter and the turning on and off of the lasers. The little things like the screen shake and the platforms changing colors were great as well!
The graphics were a bit messy, but they worked.
The platforming controls also felt a little bit off, particularly with the way the character jumped, but I was able to manage. Great job!
