I really liked this game. At first it seemed a bit generic, but when the enemies AI changed in the later levels it changed my mind.
I thought it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I use Firefox, so I didn't get any music or sounds. But I was too busy playing to notice until after I finished.
Level one worked just fine (falling level), but when the next level loaded the character didn't load. After my 3rd reload I got this error:
org.newdawn.slick.SlickException: Game.update() failure - check the game code.

Win7-64, Firefox, Java up to date
It was very short, but I liked it. The atmosphere and art were really well done! The only problem I had is the poor monkey kept falling down the holes :'(
It was pretty good! I was getting a little bored rolling around around mass 8 being so much bigger, but when I actually found a bigger ball and it started chasing me I was once again entertained until it ate me.
I saw your post, and I didn't believe it until I got to around level 4. This is a neat game, the only issue I had was with the circles covering up my health. But I just ate them, and it was fine. I can see how this game could get addicting!
Also, getting the health restoring powerup sound is a little odd...
When I try to do the story mode it says all the levels are locked, and when I do custom it freezes.
I thought it was great! I enjoyed the riddles, and I didn't think they were too hard.
The combat system is definitely far from great. In the end it came down to focusing on finishing the menus or working on combat, and I chose the menus.
What I was going for (which may have not been obvious seeing as I never really had anyone play-test it) was that it costs points to evolve and devolve the creature, and "toggle" may have been a poor choice of words to describe it.
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, I started learning some Java in early may, and I started using LWJGL and slick around June, and it turns out this was a lot more work than I was ready for. I would definitely make the battles more interesting if I had some extra time to work on it, and I would make the text look less like a ransom note.
I enjoyed it. It wasn't starting at first, but it turns out AVG just thought it was a virus.
It's short, but pretty fun to go around absorbing people. I had a hard time figuring out exactly who my target was, but the other germs didn't seem to care that I was just walking around killing people.
And the "moving past" feature is very nice.
I loved the concept of the game, and when I saw cats in the title I had to try it! The only thing I found is that sometimes it gets a little tedious killing off your inferior cats. Luckily I realized that their appearance changes based on their stats! This is definitely a good one.
I thought this was pretty great. About halfway through round 1 I finally understood the controls, and after that it wasn't too hard. When I realized I can just spam warriors and get a ton of gold I started to fight 3 - 4 waves at a time. Right now I am waiting for waves 89 - 108 to die from my military so the game quits lagging so much. Besides the easiness, this game is a lot of fun. I would buy it if it was a complete game!
I thought it was a pretty fun game! I thought it was going to be painfully slow before I got the "We are Legion" upgrade, but overall I enjoyed it.
I thought this would make a really good demo to a game. I only had one issue with it: there is a typo when you look at the house on the right. It says "where did they all went?"
Other than that, great job!
I thought this was a lot of fun. I really liked that there were more evolutions besides bigger hats. I think a sandbox mode with a bunch of islands would be a good addition to this.
I thought the game looked kind of silly, but it doesn't need good graphics to be fun, and if its fun what else matters?
I thought this was a really neat concept. The biggest issue I had was that when the detail window on the right hand side opened I could not figure out how to get it to close. Other than that there wasn't anything majorly wrong with it.
Although the screen itself is a bit large...
I think this game is amazing! I played an earlier build you posted, and I really like the extra effects/evolutions you added since then!
And the skirmish mode is also a wonderful idea, in fact here is my wonderful team:

I seriously loved this game. I was hoping you would end it the way you did. This is amazing!
The sounds make it sooo much cooler, too!
Web worked fine for me, but the animations seemed a little slow/choppy. Not sure if it was my connection or something else.
I kept thinking of the IT crowd whenever I read bastards. I liked the minigames, and thought this game was hilarious for sure!
The instructions were not helpful, but I figured it out pretty quickly. There wasn't much stopping me from just spamming goats and conquering. I did enjoy the game's humor.
I really liked this game. The music was fantastic! I thought it got a little easier when the santa swarm came just because their explosions would destroy other santas, creating a chain reaction of exploding santas! Well done!
Great game, music wasn't too invasive, gameplay was simple and straightforward, great concept, scaled in difficulty very well. I'm sure with more time there could have been more work put into the graphics. Great game for a 48 hour submission.
Definitely a clever title for the concept. The reddish arrows were a little frustrating when they were first introduced, but I picked up how they worked quickly. Good job!
Well thanks! The Endless Mode and Credits buttons should work. We were going to make a Story where you got a certain distance and just murdered everyone, but we had to cut out due to time. Glad you liked it! :D
We had a compression issue for the size... The WAV files for the music were all ~15 MB each. I might try converting them to OGG or compressing them more to get the size down to a manageable amount.
The game runs on Java 7, so I would make sure you have the most updated version from oracle, I suspect unsupported major.minor means you are running java 6 or earlier.
Thanks for all the great comments so far, we were going to add more features but real life got in the way during the jam. If there is anything you think would make it even more fun leave it in a comment and I'll definitely consider adding it and uploading a post-compo version.
For some reason changing the sound format dropped the size but raised the load time. I takes my computer almost 10 seconds to load the game from startup i'd say.
This is a really cool twist on classic TD games. I did have an issue where I would mean to click an officer, and it would instead press the upgrade button, but that wasn't the end of the world. I also appreciated the art very much!
I'm not sure what just happened...
I was a little put off by the graphics at first, then I realized it is my one true love.
A few bugs with the lifts, but otherwise not bad. It had good graphics for the style of game and went well with the theme. It was too easy and seemed a bit dull while you were playing. I'm sure that with more time it has a lot more potential.
I really liked the RTS graphics. I think some sort of tutorial would help out immensely, as I had a hard time figuring out what I was doing. But whatever I WAS doing, I enjoyed it.
When I saw the idea I just HAD to play it. Great job!
I was laughing my way through this game! I would be upset that slenderman had a face, except it was fantastic.
I saw the title and decided I had to play it! It was fun for a little while, although it seemed like my candy cane and child abduction score always had the same percentages next to them, even if i did nothing.
For some reason I really like how the trees fell, but im not sure why. The timing to kill indians seemed a bit odd, but it was still entertaining for sure!
This was a solid game to say the least. I would say the best things to do to improve it would be to make the upgrade button prettier / move it down and change the tower's level text to black or something.
Overall it was pretty easy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Good job.
The art style was fantastic! Even though it's so short I loved the endings.
The leaping was a little odd, but I got the hang of it quickly enough. I really liked the victory sound, it was fabulous.
I thought it was great! Was it just me or does each level you beat speed up if you replayed them without exiting the program?
I found it hilarious when the little soldiers yelled "Charge!" as they ran into battle. I think the biggest improvement you could make is having enemies spawn from all 4 sides. Great work!
I don't think I'll be going to bed tonight.
When I finally figured it out, I can honestly say I enjoyed it.
I loved how goofy and crazy all the bonuses are! My only problem was if I managed to flip the car I would just explode and fly through the air forever, but resetting fixed that right up!
My coworkers were not impressed, until I figured out how to shoot. Then they were sorry very VERY quickly.
It was pretty good for only 48 hours, although it was pretty easy when I realized I could just hold Z to win.
Personally, I think the health bar should be reversed. At first it looked like some sort of progress bar every time I hit a microchip.
This game is wonderful, great idea, I enjoyed the music, great graphics. It was fun and smooth gameplay, great work!
This is definitely in my top 5 favorite LD games ever. It's fantastic!
I thought this was a really neat concept! After the first level it got pretty easy though, I would just set a few level 2-3 swordsmen near the middle and run around with the fast short guy collecting coins, then spawn more swordsmen if the guys in the middle die. Eventually I got a dozen with attack around level 20, and couldn't die. I think the combat could use a little balancing, but overall nice job!
Although evil, killing kittens was necessary for the robot uprising. I'm not sure how I won, but i did. I guess that's what matters anyways.
I couldn't quite grasp what was going on.
Great game! The AI was a little funny at times, but it was never game-breaking. I was really glad when I saw the other ghosts moving as well, I was afraid I would have to micro all four at once (which would have been awful). Nice work.
Cute game! I personally struggled to get past level 2, but overall I thought it was a fantastic game.
I was having a great time playing! Until I got trapped :(

This game is hilarious! It's a bit hard to tell when you get hit if you don't hear the QUACK.
This game is hilarious. I especially enjoyed the juice box's beefy legs. I don't know if it was intentional, but I was able to run up the red poles.
Really cool concept - found a couple of glitches/bugs, graphics aren't anything special, but fun little minigames with varying difficulty levels.
Nice implementation. Graphically it's very nice looking, good ambiance. Sort of difficult though, hard to find a safe place here and there, got stuck on an island of a block.
My favorite tactic was definitely trapping people in the corner.
I had to die to figure out how to play (because I'm dumb and didn't read the description, controls weren't intuitive to me)... but cute and good use of the theme!
Loved the art, and the arrow physics were so fun to play with. Couldn't get past the stage with the flower pots and the police officers though.
Really cute! Graphics are very nice, simple implementation. A bit slow paced, but very polished.
One minute I was jumping around, the next minute the room was filled with monkey bits.
Everyone was getting upset at me, so I reminded them who I am! By building hospitals and orphanages of course.
I only wish that the monster/person I clicked on was selected instead of the first one in the room. Otherwise I had a fantastic time!
This game is fantastic! It had a couple quirks when I played, namely the ghost's screen would occasionally turn black and not show any terrain. I had no issues running it on my PC, but it would be nice if there was a short delay on the thief/ghost wins screen because usually I was frantically trying to move and accidentally restarted the game immediately.
That was a fun little game. It seemed like I would get a bunch of textboxes popping up at once, and after the game ended I could click them through the "You Win" popup for even more points/salary.
It's very cute. The gameplay walkthrough is very accurate!
This game is harder than I expected. I found that if I hold down the mouse button I can grab a bunch of cars at once and have a feeding frenzy, which was pretty sweet!
The people's yelling sounded pretty sarcastic, "ahh, this again? how inconvenient" which was hilarious.
That was fantastic. Thanks for not making me restart the million times I fell off the edge.
My initial though when I saw mario was "Oh I need to jump on his head!"
Then I remembered I'm the goomba.
That was more fun than I expected. It took me a lot longer than I'd like to admit to actually figure out how the movement works. I also couldn't figure out how to read signs, but I still had a bunch of fun hopping around islands borrowing things.
I was a little sad when my punches didn't land in the middle of their face.
That was a fantastic little game. I felt like the controls weren't as reactive to my input as I'd like, but it could have something to do with not being able to fire as the tree is moving between positions. I definitely laughed the entire time I was playing.
The controls have a nice feel to them, and the game is very pretty. It would be nice if the dead squares had a little bit of transparency or something, otherwise it gets hard to see the small ones that spawn later. Showing where they pop out at you is nice touch.
I agree. People who don't like hugs are monsters!
The environment was very nice looking. I think even adding some transparency to the mob background would go a long way in improving it. I would also recommend upgrading to a newer version of unity with the new UI tools. The mechanics are very solid overall.
I really enjoyed the monster's pounce and all of the little effects through the game. It seemed like it was pretty easy for me to just run around as a monster and murder all of the cultists in 2-3 nights while dodging the police bullets. It was a fun murder spree though!
I definitely liked the graphics. Adding sound would add a ton to the game, especially little sound effects as you play. I think adding some element of progression or some end goal would improve the game even further. I got up around the 500k pts range and felt like there wasn't much left to do at that point. Nice work!
This is a fun little game! At first I was confused about how to kill enemies, but it didn't take too long to figure out. It seemed like the keys were tied to the score, it would be nice to know when they would drop. The 3d text was a nice touch!
I enjoyed the art. I wasn't totally sure what the ladder was for, or why my health was changing until I got to the end. Jerry seems like a nice guy.
